Was involved in collision at 35-45 mph where driver air bag did not deploy resulting in serious injury to driver. This vehicle was i'm forward motion on a rural street. We have not received any notices of airbag driver side recalls

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v352000 (air bags) and 16v290000 (air bags); however, the parts needed to perform the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not availalbe.

Airbag light comes on and goes off constantly. First day was about every 20 or 30 seconds but by the second day it would come on stay on for 30 seconds or so go off and come on immediately again. This is a left hand drive and was produced 4/07. Obviously the same clockspring as the l37 problem. Code 1b06 is displayed on the code reader at my mechanics shop.the oil pump failed on this jeep and the motor seized at 9100 miles and was replaced. I also had alarm problems from the start which were never fixed. I almost had it declared a lemon but gave up.

My airbag sensor light stays on.

Broken clockspring/ airbag light comes on. Airbags likely to not work-(haven't had the chance to find out yet)- not covered?- warranty expired2007 jeep wrangler jk 2 door 50,000 miles.

Takata recall: i have received three notices from fca about the critical need to have my vehicle repaired, and yet for six months now, they do not have the part available. Can you please compel them to deliver the part to a dealer near me (in glendale california) so that i can resolve this matter quickly. My formal complaint to them is attached. I have repeatedly reached out to their dealers who claim that they are at the mercy of the factory to supply the parts needed. Your intervention would be appreciated since they do not respect or respond to me.i have had no incidents other than the repetitive warning letters from the factory, and their not being able to resolve the matter despite their telling me that the failure to address this matter immediately might result in serious injury or death. If they are sending out notices like this, they should be compelled to resolve it right away.sincerely,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My horn does not work and i don't know if its making my engine light go on.

Air bag warning light and chime with no known damage to vehicle.

Air bag light and chime keep going off . I don't feel that its safe and i'm documenting it in case it fails to work and i don't make it .

The airbag light will not go off. Their has been no crash. It just came on and will not shut off. I have contacted the dealer and was told it was the clockspring. Was also told this is a common problem with 2007 tto 2011 jeep wranglers. The cost is about $500 to $600 to fix.

On multiple occasions since 6/2011 the airbag light and audible bell goes off. Have discussed this problem with the local chrysler service center and also had them try to diagnose via computer. They can not diagnose correctly. Light and bell are still activating. There doesn't seem to be any specific conditions that make this alarm go off.

Clock spring premature failure.causes horn to not work and air bags likely won't function either.

Airbag light keeps coming on. If i turn off motor, then restart, airbag light will be off and after a short time light will come back on. After doing some research i am sure it is a defective clockspring.

Takata recall. Went to trade in vehicle and dealership would not take it in on trade because of open recall

On 2/22/19 this vehicle was totaled in an accident.it impacted another car, it's front to the other vehicle's rear... On the highway, flipped 4 times, and impacted a telephone pole.no airbags deployed.this vehicle had an airbag recall, and was taken to the dealership and allegedly corrected within the last few months. *dtpictures attached

The airbag warning light comes on every 10 seconds indicating there is an issue with the airbags. Further research indicated this may be due to a malfunctioning clockspring. The dealer i went to said there was no recall.

Takata recall.: how can i get a rental vehicle or a replacement vehicle because they appear to have nothing in place to repair this life threatening problem? why should i have to drive around playing russian roulette on their problem? people have been killed andi shouldn't b a victim either. Please advise as to how fiat will take care of my life threatening problem. Don't let this request go into a black hole. I expect a prompt answer because that is why you have this website. [xxx]. I have been sent the recall notification. Plus i just had open heart surgery and any force to my chest could kill me.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

On my 2007 jeep wrangler my clockspring went out and posed a serious issue with my safety. With the clockspring out of commission my airbags would no longer deploy. When i went into my local dealer to have it fixed and asked if it would be covered under my extended warranty and the serviceman told me it wouldn't because he said it was a wiring program and that my warranty did not cover wires. I told him that the clockspring was a safety issue. The end result was that i had to pay $437.

Faulty clockspring causing multiple lights to be illuminated on my dash. Also have to have the steering angles sensor replaced with the clock spring.

My air bag light kept coming on and turning off. Finally i had my jeep looked at and i came back that the clockspring is bad. Its about $500 to have it fixed and i dont have the money. Also it had 60,000 mi on it at the time. I've been on jeep forums and this is a continuing issue with jeeps. Why have the 08's been recalled for this problem and not the 07's? can this be looked into please? i have called chrysler about this and they dont care i would really hate to get into a wreck seeing how i dont have airbags

While turning into my driveway my 2007 jeep wrangler x (with 55000 miles) "chimed" and the air-bag , traction control, and anti-lock brake warning lights lit up. Upon investigating the issue i found that this leaves the safety systems inactive!a bad "clock spring" in the steering wheel is he cause of all the system failures.my vehicle is no longer covered under warranty, but i feel that this should still be covered by jeep/chrysler. This is a major safety concern or me and my family.

The airbag light on my 2007 jeep wrangler constantly lights up and chimes about every 20-30 seconds. There wasn't an incident that caused this to start happening, it just started doing it one day. I believe the problem is a faulty clockspring in the steering column which, i also believe will prevent the driver airbag from deploying in the event of an accident. I have not done anything, as of yet, to get this repaired. I have been hoping there would be a recall to correct this problem seeing that many jeep wrangler owners are experiencing the same safety issue.

I have a 2007 wrangler x with 37k on it, and for the last 2 years my passenger air bag light has illumunated and it has been into the dealership while still under warrenty and the dealership did not fix it or even mention that it existed, a safety issue, not only that but also the cruiz control and horn do not work either. Can you say chrysler needs to step up to the plate and adjust accordingly with the faulty clockspring deal? this is rediculous and i can not afford 500 bucks to throw into faulty parts and labor to replace the faulty part. Where is chrysler??? are you listening to your customers? no.

1) 6 attempts to repair the electronic throttle control (drive by wire) problem. 2) hard to drive unless you can get it to cancel the problem only by restarting the vehicle, in traffic this can be hazardous3) parts replaced were wire harness, connectors and patch jobs, all under warranty and have not gotten the old parts.

Factory radio in 2007 jeep wrangler began overheating during the summer of 2009.overheating was causing extremely loud popping noise to be broadcast over all speakers in vehicle.vehicle was taken to dealer and inspected, radio was replaced.problem seemed to be fixed however; the weather temperature had cooled by that time so it was unclear as to whether the situation had been alleviated.in october 2009 the problem began occurring once again, this time when the defrost and heat was turned on.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection again.the dealer stated that the heat from the defrost and the heater was causing the radio to become extremely hot.the popping noise was due to this overheating process that was occurring.chrysler corporation was notified and a complaint was filed however they state that they have no solution at present and there have not been enough instances to warrant a recall.they have offered no remedies other than empty apologies.we are afraid to turn on the radio in the vehicle for fear that it will cause a fire.the dealer states that they cannot guarantee that this will not happen.furthermore the popping poses a hazard if it occurs while driving down the road as it is so sudden and so incredibly loud.

I had just exited the freeway after driving about 28 miles and while getting of the ramp into oncoming traffic i had a cpmplete loss of power lasting a few minutes. Nothing worked, brakes and steering included. I managed to roll off the road without getting hit and sat for a few minutes and my jeep restarted like nothing ever happened. I took it to the dealer the next day along with a print out of this investigation. No miles were put on my jeep but they said they couldn't re-create the incident and stated they reset a power steering chip that the manufaturer recommended. The stall has not reoccured in three weeks but tonight while driving home my stability controll light came on and wont shut off. I wasn't even moving when it came on i was at a light. I have also had episodes of my stability controll coming on and locking my braked on dry roads. Again the dealer found nothing wrong.

My car has been in and out of port jeff jeep 6 times.it goes in with problems, they can't find anything wrong with it, and i get it back with problems.it seems to be an electrical malfunction.it stalls, the esp doesn't always work, sometimes goes on for no reason, the alarm doesn't work.

Starting with the purchase of the 2007 jeep in may 2007 we have had nothing but problems. Leaky roof, electrical stall issue (still not fixed after multiple recalls), electronic stability death wobble, etc.

Driving down the highway normal traffic conditions.vehicle shut off at 65mph on highway with loss of all electrical.

My 2007 jeep wrangler jk has stalled and lost all electrical twice now. This is my second complaint about the jk. The stall occurred once at highway speed and most recently while accelerating. When the stall occurs, all engine and all electrical function cease for about 3-4 seconds. It's as if i turned the key to the off position. Then all the dash lights illuminate and the engine seems to restart on its own (this may be due to the fact i have a manual transmission and the wheels are rolling).i know of at least 60 people who have experienced this issue. This is not only an inconvenience but extremely dangerous. When i experienced the stall the first time i almost went into oncoming traffic. The second stall had traffic skidding to stop behind me as the jeep lost power and electrical while i was accelerating into traffic. I've talked to a few dealers and they have no knowledge of the issue and can offer no reasons as to why the stall is occurring. This is due to the dealers not receiving any technical bulletin''s concerning an issue or even a potential issue from daimler chrysler. This indicates to me absolutely nothing is being done at the daimler chrysler corporate offices. I am a huge fan of jeep and have owned three wranglers in the past. I hate the fact that most recent wrangler has the potential of causing a very serious accident.

Driving 4th gear, steady gas, no radio, no accessories, no lights.vehicle lost all power for 1 second, dash lit up all lights.no loss of engine just power to everything, steering, brakes, accessories, etc.

Ref: wrangler stalling problem (pe07027). Jeep wrangler 2dr 4wd 2007 auto trans.vehicle appears to have a transient electronics fault in hot weather. When the fault occurs, all the warning lights on the dashboard flash for about a second (similar to at engine start).on the first occurrence, there was a brief loss of engine power and the brakes may have applied momentarily, as if the stability control system had activated. All dashboard lights flashed as if at startup. Cd player stopped. This was at 25mph on a flat residential street, about 5 minutes after the vehicle had been started after soaking in hot sun on a 90f+ day. The vehicle returned to normal operation within one second.service advisor at dealership (boardwalk auto, redwood city, ca) advised me to call back if it happened again.the second occurrence was climbing a moderate hill in heavy traffic (california rt 92 between i-280 and skyline blvd, a well known heavily traveled hill). The engine rpms suddenly increased from about 1,500 to about 3,000 rpm as the transmission downshifted unexpectedly. All dashboard lights flashed on, then reset to normal.again, this happened on an unusually hot day after the vehicle had spent most of the day parked in sunlight. Service advisor at dealership (boardwalk auto, redwood city, ca) advised me to call back if it happened a third time.in all cases, the engine temperature was normal.after reading about the "wrangler stalling problem", i wanted to put this on the record, to provide some additional information.

Nothing led to the failure other than normal driving.i was accelerating up an on ramp to interstate 75 when the 2007 jeep wrangler that i was driving, stalled.all power appeared to be gone, but within 2-3 seconds, the vehicle "restarted" and i continued without further incident.january 2007.similarly, while parked at a traffic light, the vehicle stalled, but did not restart.may, 2007.both stalls were not preceeded by any notice, no winddown, no dieseling, nothing.i have not as yet taken the vehicle to the dealer for this, as i am confident with the infrequency, there is no way they can diagnose.

2007 jeep jk wrangler 6 speed2080 miles on the odometeras i was travelling at approximately 40mph, i lost all power to the vehicle for a split second.the radio turned off and all of the warning lights on the instrument panel lit up.the engine did not stop running, however, it was unresponsive.a second later, the lights went off, the radio came on and everything was fine.all of this at 40 mph in 4th gear.

I was accelerating and had reached about 45 mph when the engine stalled and all the dash lights illuminated.this lasted for about 1 to 2 seconds, and then the engine came back on and all was well.

Vehicle stalled while driving down the interstate at approx. 70mph

2007 jeep wrangler. Has had the engine stall issue, in for tsb on this issue-vehicle was repaired. Dealership then later said it was stalling due to ignition switch after a few more stalling incidents.they replaced the switch, then manufacturer issued a recall in july for this issue, the recall was done.today 9/27 the exact stall while driving happened again, vehicle shuts down when driving, losing all power/lights/steering/brakes.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler 2 door. With approximately 4700 miles.i was driving at 40 mph and all of sudden the engine cut off and all dash warning lights came on and within 3-4 seconds the engine started and ran fine.this is a very serious condition.i have read on this site and other jeep sites that other folks are having this same problem.

2007 jeep wrangler x - 4wd.engine stalled at highway speed.engine stalled for a moment.all dash lights came on, and the engine then restarted and acted normal.cruise control was on during the incident.

Ignition sticks.cd player (6 disc changer) failed in 1st month of ownership and less than 1,000 miles.was replaced but all of my cd's are in player and may not be returned.sudden engine/electrical failure with spontaneous restart while driving approx 45 mph.

My airbag light is coming on and then going off coming on and going off when i'm driving or park it does not matter it could be a faulty clock spring that was never recalled and when i purchase the vehicle the dealership knew about it and did not disclose it

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler x and as i pulled out from a stop sign the radio cut out and the electrical light came on and it wouldn't go over 2k rpms in first gear. So i had to pull over and turn it off then it wouldn't start back up for a few minutes.

As i was driving at 50 mph on a level road; the engine and electrical system on my 2007 jeep wrangler completely failed. Just as quickly as the engine/electrical cut out (within 1-2 seconds) all the dash board lights illuminated and the engine restarted on its own. What made this event a danger to me and possibly others on the road is when the engine died i also lost power steering. This causing me to move into oncoming traffic (i was rounding a sweeping corner at the time). When the engine restarted it caused the power steering to immediately come back which in turn caused a quick jerk back into my lane of travel. This was an extremely dangerous maneuver given the type of vehicle this is. This seems to be an ongoing issue with many 2007 jeep wranglers.

After service at the dealership, while traveling home, the vehicle stalled twice at highway speed (55 mph). When the vehicle (2007 jeep wrangler) stalled i lost all power including electrictronics and lights. This is the first time this has happened but i feel this is very dangerous. The dealership says to bring it in if this happens again. I noticed on your website this is an ongoing problem so i wanted to report it. There was no accident involved but a couple of close calls.

2007 jeep wrangler 2 door. Stalls.loses all engine and electrical power.has happened on five occasions.on the last occasion i was in a major intersection and was almost broadsided when the light changed and i was caught in the oncoming flow of traffic.brandon, florida dealership denies that such an occurrence is possible or repairable because they "are unable to replicate the problem."vehicle has been taken to the dealership three times for this problem to no avail.

While driving at highway speeds-occurred at 8500 -13400 miles, and again at 26400 miles.at 70 mph vehicle shuddered -lost electrical power, lasts about 2 seconds and all lights ,then light on the instrument cluster, and vehicle beganto operate again.i noticed each time before it happened while driving in town it had a very rough idle at stop signs. Scared me very badly each time.

Since i've purchased the vehicle in march it has at least had approximately 100 times of excessive crank time. I fear it may be destroying the engine or ? i've also had one dealer service manager call me 'crazy' and reported that it was not happening because they couldn't duplicate the issue. After his rude and unprofessional remark, i went to another dealer ship who treated me with respect, but again, they couldn't duplicate the excessive crank. Finally on a second visit, they reported they were able to duplicate the issue. Problem is; they want me to wait and have star techs., try to figure it out. I am upset that they won't just trade the jeep! i am paying big money for a piece of... (you know what!) if they refuse to trade, i want my money back.a new car should not be having these issues!!it has died on me but only once and i was stopped at an intersection. I had to restart the vehicle. Thank god they were able to figure that one out!!

Lost electrical power for 1 second. Stall bug.

I was driving on a street close to my home on a very slight incline and my radio shut off, lights shut off, all warning lights came on and then approximately 5 seconds later all came back on.(2007 jeep wrangler x).

1) under normal driving conditions2) the jeep's electrical system will cut out and shut everything off including the engine.3) i inquired about a recall that described my situation (nhtsa campaign id number: 07v291000 ) and was told that it didn't apply to my vehicle.

Stalls out, different times.instrument lights come on, lose power for about 5 sec then regain power.had software fix, still has problem, this problem could kill someone.

Air bag light and chime keep going off . I don't feel that its safe and i'm documenting it in case it fails to work and i don't make it .

With less than 5000 miles on my 2007 jeep wrangler jk x, i have already had 2 occurrences where the jeep would "stall" under normal driving conditions.flat road driving, normal highway speeds (50-65), it will lose power to the motor, giving a mild buck, then radio cuts out, all dashboard lights come on, and about a second later, all go out, and driving resumes as normal.nearly got rear-ended by an 18-wheeler due to power loss.both times were under similar circumstances.

I've experienced some electrical issues with my 2007 jeep wrangler x.on four separate occassions the ignition has stuck in the starting postion.second, and most disturbing, my jeep lost power and the all the dashboard lights lit up, while traveling down the highway at 60-65mph.i talk to the dealership about the ignition issue, which they stated they could not re-create, therefore could not diagnose.my jeep only has 1,700 miles.below is the date of the major incident.

Driving to st. James, ny after a weekend in nj in snowy and cold conditions with new puppy. At 7:00am, about one hour into the drive, while on long island expressway, radio went off, lights flashed on and off, car began to shake and lose power. I pulled off the nearest exit and it stalled as i coasted into a gas station. After about 15 minutes, the car started again, and i tried to drive it to the huntington service center about 8 miles away. The car would not drive over 25 mph, and after about two miles began to shake uncontrollably. I pulled into a parking lot, put the car in neutral and tried revving the engine. Nothing changed and the car stalled. I waited in the cold and snow for aaa to tow me to the huntington service center. Service center communicated to me that the car had nothing wrong with it based on the computer check. That a technician would take it for a test drive with me. The problem didn?t happen on the test drive. Upon return to the service center, i insisted that they continue to search for the problem on the grounds that my car had to be towed in after losing control on the highway. Service managerrefused. I asked him to explain chrysler?s responsibility in the matter and he said in an unkind tone that i could go to arbitration but the problem would have to occur in front of the arbitrator, so it probably wouldn?t work in my favor. Returned to service center at 29,308 miles because the dashboard lights were going on and off while i was driving. Insisted that they find out what was wrong with the car and fix it. Service advisor told me that they would call the chrysler tech support team to help with solving the problem. They stated that the problems caused on march 3 and march 4 were because the battery was low and the esp was activating prematurely. They stated low battery was causing the power failure and the esp was causing the shaking of the car. Service center replaced the battery and fix the module that controlled esp.

While driving at highway speeds the 2007 wrangler lost all electrical power with the engine stalledat the same time. The problem lastedfor about 3-second before all the lights on the dashboard illuminated at once and the engine restarted. This has occurred 3-times so far, andwas obviously a safety concern as control and braking of the vehiclewas lost with no power steering and abs .

Clock spring premature failure.causes horn to not work and air bags likely won't function either.

When merging into traffic getting on the freeway, my engine does not respond to throttle input as i try to accelerate. The tachometer and speedometer seem to lock up as the vehicle quits responding to driver commands. This problem has happened twice in the first 1000 miles since being purchased. The dealer cannot seem to duplicate this discrepancy. This vehicle is a 2007 jeep wrangler 2 dr 4x4.

On 4 different occasions now the jeep has completely shut down under normal driving conditions in moving traffic.there are no symptoms that lead up to the incidents.at various speeds and at various times all of the lights on the dashboard will come on for a second, then they all go off, the radio shuts off, and the engine dies as if the ignition has been turned off.the engine and lights will stay off for an average of a 4 to 6 seconds and the vehicle will start back up as if nothing happened.this is a huge safety concern in the fact that during this time period all vehicle control is lost.this has happened at highway speeds.i have taken the jeep to the dealership more than once regarding this problem. They report that they cannot duplicate the issue, and pretty much act as if it is a non-issue since they can't reproduce the problem.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler a red 3 comes on the dash then the motor shuts off for a few seconds and then everything goes back to normal ...this has happened 3 times in the last two years ....

Faulty clockspring causing multiple lights to be illuminated on my dash. Also have to have the steering angles sensor replaced with the clock spring.

Was driving my 2007 jeep wrangler to work and i was going about 35mph around a corner and after i got out of the corner the jeep jerked engine stalled kicked back on then stalled again then died and wouldn't start back up had to have it towed to the mech. Shop and he said the crank busted.... Love those junk 3.8 jeep wont admit theirs a defect with.

While accelerating from a stop sign, all the lights onthe dashboardlit up and the vehicle stalled. A few seconds later it restarted. If the intersection was a 2 way stop this could have caused an accident. A dealer washesitant to fix a problem if it couldn'tbe duplicated. This was a known problem , and i knew of at least 50 people thathada similar problem. It seemedto happen every 2000 miles. The originaltechnical servicebulletin (tsb) to fix this problem didn't solve the problem.

Driving to work on a cold snowy day from huntington, ny to st. James, ny. After 30 minutes of driving the lights flashed on, car seemed to have less pick up, radio went off.minutes later, the car began to shake and gas gave it no power. Lost power in steering and brakes as well. Drifted into a snowbank on the side of edgewood ave. In smithtown, ny next to a busy school driveway. Would not restart. When tow truck arrived still would not start. After three days, dealership stated that they didn't know what was wrong with the car, but based on the information available, they would replace the wireless control module. Part was on backorder for 2+ weeks.

I currently own a 2007 jeep wrangler .i have experienced a stalling problem with vehicle 5 time in the last 2 months. 4 of the 5 time i was traveling at night at speeds of 50 to 65 mph on an interstate. The reason i am writing this complaint is i almostrear ended atractor trailer running at a slower speed after the stall turned of the light and gave me no brake power. This is very dangerous almost costing me my life. I am taking it to the dealer to have a recall notice done on 03/21/08. This problem seems to be coming quite common on these jeeps, i hope a death does not happen before they fix the defect.

Asking about a recall regarding the radio's in jeepshaving a security flaw that allow hackers to take control of the car. I noted in the associated press article by tom krisher jan 8-10, 2016 that chrysler had a recall for this problem. Can you please send me anemail regarding moreinformation about which model years this recall was for and what chrysler did to correct it. It has not happened yet.thank you,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I opened the door to the jeep and the wipers, horn and wiper fluid engaged non-stop without a key in the ignition.the only way to stop them was to disconnect the battery.when the battery cables are reconnected, the horn, wipers and wiper fluid sprayer are again engaged.on quick research, it was discovered that this is a known tipm failure issue that can also effect the airbag (preventing deployment as well as randomly engaging it while driving), fuel injection causing sudden loss of power and vehicle control as well as issues with lights and gauges.issues were severe enough to issue a recall on 2007 year models but similar issues with the 2008 are not addressed.i was fortunate the the vehicle was parked in my garage when the tipm failed and not driving down the highway.

New 2007 jeep wrangler 2dr 4x4, total power/engine/elecrical shut off while driveng on the interstate and twice while getting on/off ramps. Almost rear ended by following vehicles in all three cases.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4.the contact stated that the horn would go off spontaneously.the dealer reset the computer.while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning.the interior lights dimmed, but the vehicle would restart.the vehicle has stalled on numerous occasions.the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure.the failure mileage was 2,000 and the current mileage was unknown.

Purchased new 2007 jeep wrangler.electric throttle body light consistently comes on and power dims. The dealer, after several attempts, cannot fix.it did completely shut down while in motion in one case and needed towed back.after servicing the light still consistently appears and power weakens randomly.

2007 jeep wrangler stalls with no notice and all the dash lights flash on and off. I almost got killed today going through a intersection.

The m-19 fuse keeps blowig

2007 jeep wranglerengine stalls and loss of electricity and power steering. This happened 2 times. Vehicle was driving under 50 mph for both instances. In both instances, the stall/loss of electricity/loss of power steering lasted for only about 1 second.

While drivingona canyon road at around 50 mphthe jk wrangler stopped responding.all the lights on the dash came on.the transmission felt like it went into neutral, but the engine did not stall.the problem lasted for 3-4 seconds before self correcting.i was on a straight stretch of road , and the vehicle was lined up well so there was not a crash.

Multiple times yesterday, starting with (which i thought nothing of initially) the traction control light turning on while the jeep was in park not moving. Shortly there after while driving straight on a highway about 45-55 mph a knock or clunk was felt beneath the floor, immediately followed by the eas, traction control, abs and brake lights illuminated, the airbag light flashed, the wipers running even though they were off, a hard pull to the right and high running/increasing rpm's on a level road with my foot off the accelerator. I hit the hazards, pulled off the road, looked at, in and under the jeep, nothing looked amiss. My husband took over the drive, made it roughly 8-10 miles with out issue and than again everything above but in addition this time the horn blared for probably 2 minutes, if not more, he pulled over shut it off turned it on we went home, waited about 2 hours, drove about 15 blocks city roads with hills and turns less than 25mph round trip and nothing happened. Might be worth mentioning, for the last month or so in high heat 80 degrees and up, it hasn't been starting the first few turns, but the battery is less than 6 months old.

Vehicle was set on cruise at 45mph and suddenly suffered a complete power loss and stalled.no equipment was functional in the vehicle, including gauges, headlights, radio, etc.as the automatic transmission was still in drive, the vehicle decelerated very suddenly until power was restored approximately 3-4 seconds later, at which point the vehicle restarted itself.power steering and power brakes were also affected during this power loss, and neither was functional.battery cables do not appear loose and there is no other indication of loose wiring.

Driving to work from hoboken, nj to montclair, nj on an 11 degree day. Drove 40 minutes, some on highway. While on highway, the radio went off lights flashed on and off. Approximately one mile from work, all lights flashed on, car began shaking, the power steering and brakes stopped working and then the car stalled. Would not turn back on. Called aaa. Waited in cold for 1.5 hours. When tow truck arrived, car started again. Drove to dealership in verona, nj.verona dealership hooked car up to computer and stated nothing was wrong with the car. Returned to me with no repairs made. Brought car to manhattan service center at 4, 256 miles for the problem. The service center found nothing wrong with the car, but performed a recall #g40. Told me it should solve the problem that caused the power failure and stall.

My car wont start. On feb 5th, odi 10217364, i had this same issue and i brought the car to the dealership and they replaced the tim module. On feb. 16th i tried to start the car 4 times - it would turn on for a second then all lights on the dash would come on and the car would die. On the 5th and 6th try it wouldn't turn on at all, just the lights on the dash would come on. It was after 4pm so dealership closed. On feb. 16th i tired the car again, it turned on with the first try so i moved it from the garage to a spot outside. On monday, feb 17th i was going to drive it to the dealership to have them look at it but again it would not start. Just like on saturday, after 4 attempts it wouldn't turn on at all. Had it towed to the dealership again. This is the 5th time that the car has gone into the dealership for stalling/not starting and the 8th time that this stalling/not starting problem has occurred.

More then one occasion while driving at different speeds and shut off. Conditions the vehicle shut off, all warning/ dashboard lights cameon., as wll as theelectrical system shut off.stepped on gas pedaland the vehicle e did no respond. 3this 0 seconds later the vehiclefired back up andwasfine. Occured 3 or 4 times in a 9000 mile time period.

Problem with 2007 jeep wrangler been to garage 3 times before a recall letter was issued then return back to dealership same day of the recall and still not fixed after 3 attempts, waiting to see if it is fixed after this attempt.

My 2007 jeep wrangler has had engine stall two times now at 50-60 mph. Causing light failure, engine failure, no brakes or power steering.i have taken it to the dealership two times, after restarting the vehicle.the next time it happens, they said call a tow truck and have it towed to them.this startedat approximately 26,000 miles and again at 30,000.both times nothing was found and the computer programs were current.

Vehicle experienced full shutdown again, this time on the interstate at interstate speed. The recall did not cover my build date and this is the third time i have experienced the vehicle turning itself off, and then back on a few seconds later. The ones that were covered by the recall, seem to have the same issue still. All the dealer can do is document that i brought the vehicle in and that they cannot replicate the problem. This vehicle is likely to get someone killed!

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4. The vehicle was parked and shut off when the horn began to sound. After approximately two minutes, the horn stopped. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The contact also noticed that the seat belt light would illuminate and alarm system would sound intermittently. The current and failure mileages were approximately 45,000.

My 2007 jeep wrangler 2 door rubicon stalled while i was driving home on highway 85.i had the cruise control set at 65 mph, the head lights, fog lights, radio were on, and a gps was plugged into the power port.the jeep stalled, the lights went out, and all the dash lights came on for about 2 seconds.after the 2 seconds the vehicle resumed normal operation except the cruise control did not come back on.i took it to the dealer and they could not find or replicate the problem.

While driving down the high way at 60mph my radio died for 3-5 seconds and after it came back on my whole engine/ car died and the dash lights lit up. When i pushed the clutch in and released it the car came back on.

Driving along at 45mph and the engine dies power shuts off and comes backon ,engine restarts itself(not by the starter, but by momentum, even tho automatic trans)

I was accelerating and had reached about 45 mph when the engine stalled and all the dash lights illuminated.this lasted for about 1 to 2 seconds, and then the engine came back on and all was well.

I was leaving work on 3/15/07 and going down the interstate about 65 mph in the rain when the engine shut off. I was doing nothing but driving when the engine just shut off the gauges went nuts. I drive a 2007 jeep wrangler and it has only 2000 miles on it. I could have been hurt or even killed by this event. Today on my way back to work the jeep was shaking badly lots of vibration at hiway speeds. Once again i just bought it back in december and now it shuts off and is one big vibrator going down the highway. I will be taking the jeep back to the dealership and have it checked out. I will tell you right now they will find nothing wrong with it since there are no check engine lights on or any other symptons. I would like this investagated. I hope that there will be a recall before too many people have to die from this. But going down the highway at high sppeds and your engine shutting off and haveing no control over your vehicle is a perfect recipe for a serious accident.

2007 jeep wrangler with late march 2007 build date is experiencing stall failures of the electrical system. While braking at a stop sign, my jeep stalled out and within a couple of seconds came back on. During this stall period, both steering and braking are severely negatively influenced.

Brand new 2007 jeep wrangler with 6,300 miles. Key became lodged in ignition and would not come out. Car could not be completely shut off so battery drain occurred. Took the car to the dealer and they don't know what the problem is. They kept the car to work on it without offering a loaner. Just wanted to report this in case there are other instances of keys becoming lodged in ignitions of new chrysler / jeep products.

Engine died @ 65 mph,and at other times at stop lights and while driving on off road trail. Trans didn't upshift while trying to merge on hiway and while attempting to pass other vehicles. Dealer said there wasn't anything wrong with vehicle.

I have a wrangler built in 9/06 and purchased in 11/06. It has a stallingissue while driving, it has had all the recalls and flashes done to the computer as well as the dealership replacing the ignition switch stating that was the cause of the stalling.i have also filed 2 other complaints with this org. On this..#10192506 on 6/5 and #10204419 on 9/28. While driving tonight at a steady 70 mph. The engine cut out, stalled then re-started ! luckily my pregnant wife was not in the car. I have had this happen before numerous times.the vehicle went in for the last recall on this, and this is the third time it has stalled since the "fix" and this is the second time it has happened at night on the highway...i think anyone would believe a vehicle stalling and losing lights at night doing @70mph is very dangerous. All i want is a vehicle that i can depend on, i will state again i purchased this vehicle brand new and the engine isstill stalling while driving, and this is the 3rd time since the manufactures recall computer "flash fix" . I would appreciate some help!

Stalls out, different times.instrument lights come on, lose power for about 5 sec then regain power.had software fix, still has problem, this problem could kill someone.

I was driving at about 35 mph, and i begin to decrease speed since i was arriving at a light.the car went off for 1 second.radio/engine went off and the car restarted itself all the lights came on, etc.this was the second time it happend.first at about 2500 miles. This second one at 8529.

Faulty clockspring causing multiple lights to be illuminated on my dash. Also have to have the steering angles sensor replaced with the clock spring.

-thecontactownsa 2007 jeep wrangler, andwhile driving off the ramp of a highway at 20 mph the brakes would not engage properly.the vehicle started to vibrate ,and the contact heard a loud grinding noise. About 10 times and the majority of the time, itwas when the vehicle was on an incline.the contact took vehicle to the dealership, and they stated that there was a problem with the electronic stability program (esp), and that in order for contact to avoidthe failure he would have to keep the esp deactivated.the contact stated that when he had the esp deactivated he didnot experience the failure.updated

When using a highway on or off ramp, the electronic stability control program engages suddenly causing a loss of engine power and grinding brakes.this issue normally occurs when the vehicle is on an incline and is well within safe speeds for the given road.this problem occurs even when the electronic stability control program is turned off.

I was driving down the road the jeep started spitting and sputtering i pulled over to see what was going on as i go to get out it bursted into flames from under the hood then quickly spread throughout the whole jeep quickly

While coming off the highway i noticed my engine make a 'clicking' noise, didn't soud too serious, but checked oil level and seemed to have been barely any oil in it. It was around scheduled oil change date, however took to a mechanic and he thought and assumed was the idler pulley and changed it. Drove it same night and was still making same noise. Took it back and he just spoke with a 'chrysler service personnel' and stated "chrysler had a bad engine casting for molding the engines and at high temperatures the engine itself will warp." so not sure if this is true, and i do not have the money to take to a dealership and confirm.

Purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler less than a couple years ago with around 53k miles. I have just start experiencing what is known as death wobble, in the middle of my trip from colorado to virginia and the jeep has been shaking violently at random intervals on the highway. This is known as i seen over 200 complaints online and chrysler refuses to take responsibility and recall these jeeps . I am taking to dealer but i won't stop until chrysler reimburses for these repairs and want other people included the governmentto look into this. Someone is going to get hurt this is not right this needs to be addressed.

I am here to report the stalling problem with my 2007 jeep wrangler. I experienced loss of electric power along with engine failure and was unable to start my jeep for a few seconds while doing highway speeds. (i think i was doing about 60mph at the time). I know there are fellow 07 wrangler owners who have experienced this as well and we would all like to see this problem resolved before someone gets injured by this malfunction. Thank you for your time.michael wolfe.

Stall:my new 2007 wrangler has twice stalled and lost all power for 1-2 seconds at highway speeds. When this happens the dashboard lights all turn on as if the car was just started, the brakes and steering stop responding and the engine seems to either turn off completely or go silent. This lasts for a couple of seconds and then the vehicle powers up again and acts as if nothing has happened. This has happened twice so far on straight lanes and am worried this will cause an accident if it happens on a curve or when i need to use my brakes. I have taken it to jeep and was given the response "cannot duplicate, no action taken" but this is not acceptable to me and don't want them to finally take this problem seriously when my wife, 5 month old infant and myself are on the news because we died on the road.

1) the electronic stability program light has come on and stayed on 3 times over the last couple of weeks on my 2007 jeep wrangler.2) yesterday, while traveling at freeway speeds, the vehicle stalled momentarily, but restarted.in surprise, i swerved a little bit, but not enough to lose control of the vehicle.as i understand it, other '07 wranglers have experienced this as well and it has gotten progressively worse.this seems to be a significant safety issue that could result in a crash.3) i contacted my dealer today to take a look at my vehicle tomorrow.i described the issue, but they seemed unfamiliar with it.

The events leading up to m failure are quite simple.i take the same route to and from work everyday, and at the point where the failure happenedi always have my cruise set at between 55 - 60 mph.it was a regular day, no precipitation and i was cruising in sixth gear.while i was driving down the road, all the sudden i noticed my stereo and head lights turned off, i looked down and all of my dash lights and instrument panels had turned off.sitting in my seat while driving down the road at 60 mph it looked as if my car was turned off.it lasted long enough for me to realize i had a potentially huge problem, and to look all around me quickly for nearby vehicles just in case something was about to go terribly wrong.it was probably on 4 - 6 seconds in all actuality, but it felt like longer.i would be very interested to know what would have happened if i had tried to steer or brake.would it have worked?also, my jeep is still 100% stock, factory tires and all.i was fortunate enough not to have an accident, but i don't know if i would have been able to avoid one if i had to because i don't know if the vehicle would have still been responsive during the "black out."this happened two days ago, and it is now memorial day weekend.i plan on contacting the dealer on tuesday to see what can be done, but from my research online, my hopes are not high.it seems there are plenty of related incidents out there, and nobody seems to be getting any real help from their dealerships.

After driving my 07 wrangler home from work, approximately 35 minutes, i parked in my drive way and the under part of my jeep caught on fire and then the jeep exploded, catching my house on fire.my driveway is on an downward incline.

Jeep stalled in traffic, engine cut off...dashboard lights lit up...had to restart.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler 2dr, automatic transmission. No power amenities group. Build date of 9/12/2006.it has a random stalling problem and has since i purchased it. It has stalled at least 6 times on me that i can recall. There does not appear to be any pattern that i can relate, speed is irrelevant, it has happened at dead stops, and at 65mph thruway speeds. It occurs without warning; all of a sudden all the idiot lights come on, immediately everything shuts down. Radio, lights, dash gauges, engine, everything. No power steering, no power brakes, everything is gone. This happens for maybe a second or two. Sometimes it comes back on by itself, sometimes it doesn't. I have had it back to the dealer, they attempted the computer reflash. It had no effect. I have no complaint with cecconi's chrysler, they have attempted to fix the problem. I believe this is daimler's blunder.

(1)driving highway speeds, 45-65 usually.(2)engine shuts down, lose power to everything, ie power brakes, power steering, then starts back up after several seconds(3) one dealer said its not an issue, the other "update" the computer, still didn't fix the issue.

It is a 2007 jeep wrangler x with a 6 speed manual, there is a loud squealing noise coming from underneath the truck. When in the rpm range of 1500 to 2000 rpms it makes this noise. It is starting to become very annoying because the more i drive the louder it gets. The dealership has replaced the throw out bearing per the tsb that was given. That has not fixed the problem. The dealership said they contacted chrysler and that it would take 30 days to get a field engineer out to look at my problem to come up with a solution for it. So i am still waiting and not very happy with the dealerships outcome.

Oil consumption issue, vehicle uses 3 to 4 quarts of oil between 3,000 mile oil changes, has done so since 25,000 miles. I've also have a 'popping' feeling from the front end or steering component when vehicle has warmed up. You'll feel the 'pop' in the steering wheel and fuel pedal. The dealerships from both florida and tennessee stated no problem found multiple times.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler.i have had 3 issues with it stalling or with systems failure.the first time happened on the date listed below.i was traveling through a busy intersection at about 50 mph when my jeep lost power for about 5 seconds.luckily, i made it through without any issues and the power resumed.3 days later, i took my jeep into my local dealer (where it was purchased) and they said there was no diagnostic that could be performed on it at that time because the software wasn't available yet.since that date, i have had 2 other similar issues.about 4 months after the first incident, my jeep stalled out at a stoplight.i had to restart the engine.about 3 weeks ago, the same thing happened in my driveway.i started my jeep in the early morning to warm it up before work, and when i came back out in about 5 minutes, and as no longer running.i didn't think too much about this until i read an article recently about others having issues with their 2007 jeep wranglers.i wanted to make sure my stories were known, too!thanks!

2007 jeep wrangler jk: 2 door:model x:manual transmission: purchased on 3/29/07: at 2,833 miles, my vehicle stalled on interstate 10 at 60 mph. The vehicle stalled disabling all power to the controls for 3 seconds during morning rush hour traffic. The vehicle then restarted on its own and i continued on my way, thinking it was simply a minor malfunction. It recurred at 5,180 miles while i was in neutral gear, the vehicle stalled and 2 seconds later it restarted on its own. After this experience, i went to research this problem online. I found that this problem is now called "the stall bug" and it is happening to hundreds of 2007 jeep jk wrangler owners on both manual and automatic transmissions. I found that many of the owners who have reported this problem have taken their vehicles to their jeep dealership and the service department ends up sending them back without the problem being fixed. This is unacceptable and someone is going to get hurt. As soon as i found out that there was this grossly overlooked problem, i took my vehicle immediately to the dealership to be fixed (6/30/07). My vehicle is currently at the dealership being looked at by the service department, but from the research that i have done there is no solution to the problem yet and the dealership will most likely send me home with a ticking time bomb of a vehicle as it is expected that the stall will happen again at around 9,000 miles. (http://www.jk-forum.com).

While traveling with the cruise control engaged, as i was ascending a turn on a steep grade, the transmission downshifted from 4th to 2nd gear abruptly.when this occurred, the esp light on the dash lit up and the engine shut off.i pulled off the freeway to check under the hood, but didn't see anything wrong.i re-started the engine and everything was fine.took it to the dealer when i returned home from the trip and they checked the ecu and no warnings came up.

Driving down the highway normal traffic conditions.vehicle shut off at 65mph on highway with loss of all electrical.

Vehicle stalls out, all "idiot" lights go on, headlights and other lighting go off, then vehicle restarts, has happened a few times, and has happened after dealership "fixed" with a manufacturer issued tsb, on this last date i was driving at night on the highway @ 70mph ! lost all lights and power.and this is only one of the issues with this 2007 vehicle i purchased in nov ! i even have a casemanager thought the manuf. For a roof leak that they have tried to fix 5 times and it still leaks.

It happens to a 2007 jeep wrangler, 2 dr, 6-sp manual.i was doing city driving, and was shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, when suddenly all lights on the dashboard turned on, and the radio cut off, engine stall for a split second, and turn back on to normal.dealer did a tsb on this but doesn't solve the problem.

I was driving on the highway at around 65 mph and the car stalled. All the lights on the dash lit up and the car was in neutral and about 4 seconds later the car regained its power.this happened 2/1/08 with 11,500 miles.this also occurred on the highway around may 2007 with around 2,500 miles.

At 65 mph all dash lights came on as if jeep had lost power and came back on. I looked online for any incidences like this and found a news story that said chrysler was being investigated and was to recall 80,000 jeeps. I called chrysler and they denied we have a problem and they were unwilling to even look at my jeep because they claim the vin number didn't match the recall. Meanwhile i am driving a jeep unsure if it will stall out at highway speeds.

Driving my 2007 2 door jeep wrangler automatic it suddenly stalled at 50 mph.the dash lights all came on and the engine revved as if it was in neutral for a few seconds then everything came back to normal and it drove home with no problems.

Jeep wrangler loses power. Everything turns off at highway speeds. Took in to have it fixed. They couldn't find a problem.then a few months lateri received a recall notice describing same problem. Mean while myjeep keeps shutting down while driving.the dealer claimed they fixed it.but they only made the problem worse.now it does same more oftenso took it back.now they say they cant duplicate the problem and that as far as they are concerned there is nothing wrong and they claim they already fixed the recall problem . I told them they did not.then they suggested that i let one of their hourly mechanic's drive it home with him to do further tests on his way home.i refused to let them drive my jeep home.so i picked it up.the paper they forced me to sign before they would let me have it stated that i refused further tests..that is a lie. I do not consider their guy driving my jeep home and going on joy rides with it a test.please advise me on what i can do now.thanks james. K warren.

While driving my jeep 07 wrangler the engine stalled at approximately 35 mph while driving. The radio went dead and the steering became very stiff for 2 seconds. The car then restarted by itself while still moving down the road. The dashboard lit up just as it does when i turn the car on and the seat belt chime sounded 5 times just like it does upon startup. Within 15 minutes the whole process occurred a second time with the same result. The car briefly stalled then restarted while driving down a highway. I have previously been in touch with a dealership and they told me that my vin was not included in the recall for stalling engines but apparently they were wrong because this happened to me two times on one trip. I am going to stop by a different dealership and ask them to perform the tipm reset for me but want to alert others that their vehicle may be affected even though not listed in the recall notice.

While negotiating a right hand curve on a local town road in my 07 jeep wrangler x, 2-dr, the dashboard lit up and the engine stalled for approx. 2 seconds and then restarted itself for no apparent reason. This caused a loss of power steering (i assume) as steering/controlling the vehicle became very difficult.i was traveling about 35 mph with no passengers. This vehicle has a build date of 04/17/07 and was purchased brand new from a jeep dealer on 07/02/07. The vehicle had 4166 miles on the odometer when this incident occurred. After checking daimlerchrysler safety recall g25, reprogram tipm - engine stalling dated july 2007, i see that although i have the exact symptoms listed, the build date of my vehicle falls outside the date listed in the recall (01-22-07). Obviously this needs to be updated. This can also be verified via the following internet forum thread: "http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.php?t=2366" this forum includes quite a few owners that have had this issue including many that; 1) have had the recall procedure performed already; 2) have a vehicle outside of the specified build date; or 3) actually own a 2008 model year jeep wrangler. It seems the recall procedure or "fix" does not actually correct this issue and that the recall should be expanded to include later build dates. Luckily i was driving in a slower, low traffic, less hazardous situation during my first incident but now i am concerned that if this occurs again during faster, highway use or in a busy intersection and with family members/passengers the outcome could be disastrous. My vehicle is never abused and well maintained. Please feel free to contact me if further details are required.

My model year 2007 jeep wrangler with the 3.8l v6 engine and automatic transmission continues to lose engine power without warning.when this occurs, momentary loss of engine power on acceleration or at cruising speed and all interior warning lights in the instrument cluster light up all at once.the radio whether playing a cd or just the radio feature cuts out at the same time this happens.this has occurred whether cruising down the highway or in stop and go traffic. Tonight it happened while sitting at a stop light and when i accelerated on the light changing to green, the engine lost power and all warning lights briefly came on and the radio stopped. The engine never stalled, but lost all power and within a few seconds all worked again.i nearly was hit from behind when they started to move forward through the light.this is a safety concern now that i've almost been in an accident as a result of this condition.i'll be contacting both my jeep dealer in the morning and daimler-chrysler about this.

Car loses power while driving. All dash lights go off and then come back on quickly. Chrysler did recall jeep wranglers for this problem, but when i asked the service department, they told me mine was not one that was recalled. This has happened several times in the year that i have owned the jeep, most recently march 11, driving at 35mph.

Like alot of other folks, i have a 2007 jeep jk that stalled on me while driving.i was going around a curve at about 25 mph when all power and electricity failed for 2 sec. After 2 sec everything came back on including the motor (i have a standard) i have read on the www.jk-forum.com website of alot of people having similar issues with no concrete fixes from dc. I was lucky not to wreck.

On feb 5th, i was driving on the freeway at about 65 mph and my car died - dash lights went on, car jerked to a violent slow down and i almost crashed into a semi on my left, the car pulled to the left. All resumed to normal after about 4 seconds. I have filed previous complaint, conf nbr 10188682. This is the 4th incident but what is most shocking is that the first 2 times i brought it to the dealership repaid shop i was told that they couldn't duplicate the error and that they and chrysler corp didn't have record of any other reports of this problem. On the 2nd visit, i advised the service person that he should look at this web site if he had never heard of this problem since there were numerous complaints. On the 3rd incident, when i got home, there was a recall "safety recall g25-program tipm-engine stalling- so i called the service center, again, advised that car stalled again and that i also received recall and scheduled the service - aug 2007. After this visit i felt more secure to drive the car because at least chrysler had acknowledged the problem. The on feb 5th 2008 as i was driving to work, it happened again. I continued to work and at the end of the day when i went back to the car it wouldn't start, all lights/radio etc came on but thecar wouldn't turn over. I had it towed to jeep. I was told by service person, after the car was inspected that the control module- same item that caused previous problems, had to be replaced. I purchased this vehicle new, so that i would have a dependable and safe vehicle - neither of which it is! i asked the service manager what chrysler could do for me. He said that from the notes it looked like i only had one occurrence with this issue and that this was the first he heard of this type of problem with jeep - wow - either he out right lied to me or he is an uninformed manager. Needless to say i am not confident that this issue wont occur again!

I was driving on the freeway at around 70 mph and the car all of a sudden jerked forward and slowed way down. All of the dash lights went on, the car went dead for about 5 seconds and then started going again like nothing happened. All the lights went off again, and it returned to normal. I am not interested in having another problem with this jeep. There have already been brake problems twice... One of which caused a crash. The question asking "oem" below... I don't know what that means.

2007 jeep wrangler "reboots" itself while driving.while driving the vehicle, the engine and all electrical items fail and stay off for about 5 seconds.then everything comes back on as if nothing ever happened.the first failure occurred on april 5, 2007, and the second failure occurred on may 9, 2007.the vehicle rebooted itself five times while driving home from work on march 5, 2008.

I exited the highway on to the ramp doing 35mph and in the turn i lost all power, the engine shut down, within a few seconds all the dash lights came on and the engine restarted.i almost lost control but it restarted in time.i talked to the dealer about this but they told me they know nothing of this.

Dash lights flash on, momentary loss of engine power. Dealer could not duplicate or repair problem.

At approximately 3,000 miles vehicle stalled while driving up a hill at 45 mph. Radio turned off, lost control of steering, all lights lit up on dashboard.this lasted for approximately 4-5 seconds. Scary! took vehicleto dealerfor flash"of computer pertechnical servicebulletin (tsb).all was welluntil yesterday at 9,100 miles.same exact thing happened! will have dealer check obd for error codes.this was a major safetyproblem and concern, could have been traveling at a high rate of speed on interstate with semi behind me. Then what? thank you for your time and assistance with this safety issue and potential for injury or loss of life. Just wantedthe problem acknowledged and corrected.

The chrysler group llc and midway jeep chrysler located at 777 camino del rio south in san diego, ca are colluding the deny consumer rights afforded me under state and federal law, breach of contractual obligations and violation of state and federal clean vehicle emission regulations.i purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler x on april 13th, 2007.since then, i have to add 6 quarts of oil between oil changes.i have taken the vehicle to the dealership to have the problem resolved under the terms of the vehicles warranty.after cursory examination that included visually checking the dip stick, visually checking the spark plugs, pvc, and cvc valves, i was told the service manager for midway jeep chrysler stated that using 6 quarts of oil between oil changes is perfectly normal and midway jeep nor chrysler will not perform any other investigative diagnostics, nor make any repairs to vehicle.they appear to be colluding to 'run out the clock' for when the vehicle warranty expires on april 12th, 2010. After consulting automotive experts and technicians, which i hired at my own expense, have been unanimous in their professional opinions that the vehicle's engine has serious internal mechanical issues and the engine will fail.further more, the amount of oil being consumed is destroying the catalytic converter, oxygen sensors and other components of the vehicle exhaust system.this will render the vehicle inoperable under california law and require substantial repairs at great cost.

Knocking noise coming from underneath the vehicle when driven.it would come and go, mechanic checked for the obvious loss parts (muffler, shocks, etc...).the next day when the noise reappeared, the mechanic has driven less than a quarter mile when the engine seized.mechanic dropped the oil pan and found metal shavings in the oil and the bearing had spun.chrysler is refusing to take any responsibility to fix this common problem in the 2007 jeep wrangler.the mechanics we have spoken with have related that the new 07 3.0 liter engine was found to have issues that lead to this spun bearing.repairs and parts are well over $8000.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4.while driving 30 mph, the vehicle began to malfunction and warning lights illuminated.the contact has not taken the vehicle to the mechanic.the current and failure mileages were 6,000.

I am the owner or a 2007 jeep wrangler x 4x4 6spd.the vehicle has approx 2,600 miles on it.on may 30th i was driving in a residential area when i was approaching a stop sign.i was on my way to get gas and my gas light was on (i do not know if this is relevant or not but i will report it).while approaching the stop sign, with the clutch pedal pushed to the floor at about 3 mph the vehicle just stalled.no real warning just a flash of the radio lights and dash lights and the vehicle died.i thought it had run out of gas but it started right back up.then i thought possibly the gas was very low but there were still 2 gallons left in the tank as i found out when i filled up the tank 2 minutes later.after this happened i researched this "stall" a little more online.i came across jk-forum.com and this was not just an isolated incident.this is a very wide spread problem in which the dealers poke and hope with their repairs and they do not work.this is a very big safety issue.i think about it everytime i set in my vehicle now waiting for it to stall in an even worse situation such as a highway off or on ramp or something. Chrysler must be held responsible for finding a fix asap in my opinion.

My vehicle has been running poorly since the 3rd day of purchase (03/07) and at safe highway speeds, the engine just stalls..... It happens very often, about 3 times a month......the dealership says that it is operating within normal parameters and there is no solution for this issue at this time.....huummmm.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler with 8500 miles. The contact was driving 65 mph under normal dry conditions when the vehicle stalled.the contact tried to restart the vehicle while coasting, it would not restart so the contact was safely able to get the vehicle to the side of the road. When the vehicle stalled all of the electrical equipment shut off then came back on before the vehicle restarted. Once the vehicle was on the side of the road it restarted and she has not had any problems since. The contact called the dealer and made them aware of the failure and the dealer offered to replace the jeep with a new one.

2007 jeep wranglerengine stalls and loss of electricity and power steering. This happened 2 times. Vehicle was driving under 50 mph for both instances. In both instances, the stall/loss of electricity/loss of power steering lasted for only about 1 second.

I have had stall issues all around town, at least 4 times. The worse stall issue was driving on the highway all my dash lights lit up and the vehicle stalled. I had to "limp" my way to the shoulder. Chrysler did a buy back on my vehicle.

In the november 2010 issue of consumer reports, page 15, they is an article about a recall on '07-'08 jeep wranglers " - faulty transmission fluid-temperature warning system not working; could cause fire when boil over coours."i called chrysler at 1-800-653-1403 and was told that they knew of no recall of this nature and that if anything should happen, then i should call them.i explained that if something happened, it would be too late, according to this article, my car would be on fire. They still said that there was nothing they could do, there was no recall. Also, the 3 diget prefix number given in consumer report issue was transposed, it is 853 not 835.

While driving down the high way at 60mph my radio died for 3-5 seconds and after it came back on my whole engine/ car died and the dash lights lit up. When i pushed the clutch in and released it the car came back on.

1.filling the tank with fuel.2.wait for the pump to click off on it's own.every time i let the pump auto shutoff, it will spill 6-20 oz of fuel out the spout and onto the ground. 3.have not corrected the problem.

My vehicle overflows with fuel every time i fill up. The pump will shut down just in time to gush out a quarter of a gallon.

When refueling my vehicle, gasoline spills out of the filler tube and on to the vehicle and the person refueling.

2007 jeep wrangler x fuel spits back when filling.started at about 20,000 miles.

When fueling my jeep wrangler the pump shuts off then sprays gasoline. We have two similar jeeps (2007, 2010) and they both do it.

Whenever i put gas into my tank and fill up, there is always an overflow of gasoline spilling out of the tank and onto my jeep as well as onto the floor.aside from the damage being done to my vehicle, this causes damage to the environment from fumes as well as raising the potential for fires.

My 2007 jeep wrangler x has had a recurring problem with fuel spilling from the fuel tank nozzle during fill-ups.when the tank is full and the gas pump shuts off, fuel gushed from the filler tube and down the side of the vehicle and onto the ground.the fender and bumper near the fill nozzle are now discolored due to the situation.i have brought the vehicle to a dealer to complain about this, and they replaced the gas tank.this did not solve the problem.every fill up, i have the same problem.i am concerned that at some point, the fuel will hit a hot area and ignite.i see that a number of complaints on this very issue have been filed (pe10032).please address it!!!!

07 jeep wrangler 2 door rubicon spills gas at every fill up of the tank before the pump nozzle clicks off.spill down rear of jeep and makes a puddle on ground.

Every time i fuel up my 2007 jeep wrangler x, the gas overflows. This has caused the gas to spill onto the ground and or onto my feet. I have been told that this problem is quite prevalent with other jeep owners. I am the second owner of this vehicle and purchased it in feb. Of 2010. It has occurred ever since i first fueled it.

Fuel overflows whenever pump is left on "fill."this occurs every time i fill the vehicle with gasoline.for the last 3 years i have been told by the dealer that they can't find any problem.i now just add a few dollars worth of gas at a time so i know it won't hit the shut off point & overflow.

When filling up the gas tank, no matter how slow i do it, there is an overflow and in a couple cases a forcible splash.it was so forcible this weekend that my pants and shoes were soaked.i have read on a jeep forum that this is happening to a number of owners of the jeep wranglers.there are even a number of youtube videos documenting the situation.at the very least this is an environmental issue but it could escalate into something far more dangerous because of the amount of gas that overflows.

Gas gushes out of filler tube when done filling tank.

When filling up my 2007 jeep rubicon, after the pump handle "clicks" off fuel will spill out of the filler neck.it happens anytime from immediately after the pump stops to up to 5 seconds after.this happens about one-third of the time no matter what station i use of the prand of fuel that is put into the vehicle.i have owned the jeep for approx. 1 year and has done this since the week i've owned it.the vehicle has less than 20k miles on it.

Jeep is a 2007 wrangler. When filling up, gasoline overflows out of the fuel tank just as the tank gets full. Started at about 27k miles. Jeep now has 28,500 miles. It does not matter if the fuel tank starts out empty or if it is half full. It spills out every time now. The gas spills out onto the vehicle and runs onto the ground. This can't be good for the environment. In addition i get gasoline on my hands which is not healthy.

Every time i refuel my 2007 jeep wrangler, fuel spills.when the tank is "full" the gas pump "kicks" off and fuel gushes from fuel filler... It does not matter where i get fuel or how much fuel is in tank when i begin filling...it always spills...

2007 jeep wrangler gas overflow when filling the gas tank.quite a substantial amount of gas overflows when the gas tank is filled.even when i try to slowly fill the tank it still overflows.this is a serious safety issue and is common among the jk model jeep.

300 miles on my new 2007 jeep wrangler. It will not idle correctly. Incorrect gas-cap analysis. In for service 2 times for same problem. Jeep needs another recall on this piece of junk.

While filling fuel tank, fuel spills out of filler neck after fuel pump shuts off.

Fuel gushes out of the filler neck on my 2007 jeep wrangler when i fill up the tank. Result is gas soaked hand, pants and shoes with spillage on the ground at the pump and gas running down the side of my jeep. This happens every time i fill up. This has got to be a huge safety issue!

2007 jeep wrangler every time i fill the tank with gas it will overflow and spill out. It appears to be anywhere from a few ounces to maybe as much as a half a gallon. I now turn the key to accessory position while pumping gas so that i can watch the gauge and stop pumping before it reaches full.

Each and every time i fill my gas tank the pump will cease the flow of gas from the nozzle and large quantities of gasoline will backwash/overflow from the tank. This is extremely dangerous for owners of jeeps with this issue. God forbid if someone is smoking around the area. As silly as that idea may be remember who sued mcdonalds corp. For spilling hot coffee on themselves and won millions! just because they didn't tell you the coffee wasn't hot doesn't mean it's not common sense just as is gasoline spilling violently from your vehicles gas tank is very dangerous with the potential to cause large amounts of property damage and loss of life. The gas tank needs to be recalled and modified or replaced.

Fuel blows out of tank after fuel pump shuts off. I've tried different gas stations and pumps but it does it every time.

Gas gushes out of the filler after the pump shuts off.tried different angles and depths it is inserted but it happens when it shuts off and makes a mess on the vehicle and the ground. This happens every time i fill up the tank.

When filling up 2007 jeep wrangler fuel spills everywhere when the pump clicks off. The happens every time when filling the tank.

When you fill up, after the pump clicks off, lots of gas pours back out of the tank.it could run down near the muffler and ignite.not to mention the environmental effects of gasoline on and in the ground.

Everytime i fill up my 2007 jeep wrangler at the gas station, it overflows about 1/2 gallon of fuel down the side of my jeep and onto the ground. I have tried using different pump stations, but nothing stops it from overflowing.

When filling the gas tank using the auto shutoff on the pump handle, the gas tank shoots gas out all over just after the auto shutoff clicks off. It has sprayed on me and the ground and the vehicle.

Filling the fuel tank till the pump nozzle shuts off automatically will result in a fuel spill.this condition has existing since new.rate of occurrence is approximately 8 out of 10 fillings. Resulting spill is sufficient to wet the side of the vehicle, left end of rear bumper, and the ground below the fill port.spill quantity estimated at approximately 8 - 10 ounces of fuel each occurrence.

1) this failure happens at the end of refueling my gas tank.just about the time the tank hits the full point.2) the failure is that the gas sprays out of the tank when the tank hits the full mark.this causes the entire side of the car and bumper to be covered in gasoline as well as my hands and clothing3) so far nothing has been done to correct the problem other than just not filling the tank to full.

Fuel overflows out of tank.

Gas tank over flow when filling up 2007 jeep jk wrangler rubicon. The pump doesn't even have to stop for it to happen. I can fill it up with 10 gallons of gas, stop the pump and as soon as you pull the pump out of the neck gas sprays out. The option below to enter a date only allows for one date. This happens every time i fill up the jeep.

Jeep jk wrangler (07-10): gas overflows when filling up using auto lever or hand held. A lot of gas spills out onto vehicle and on ground. Numerous positioning of nozzles and gas stations attempted.

Gas tank overfills almost every time, spills large amounts of gas.problem is common to my vehicle and is not a result of user error.

In the last month i have had a problem with gas overflowing out of the fuel tank filler after the gas pump clicks off.the gas comes out and runs down the side of my vehicle and onto the ground.the problem has occurred during 3 out of 4 fill-ups in the last month.i have not done anything yet to correct the issue.

My 2007 jeep wrangler spits back fuel when filling the gas tank. This has been going on since i bought the jeep. I have had the fuel tank, o-ring, fuel pump and level unit replaced.

Fuel overflowing when filling tank in a 2007 jeep wrangler, design does not shut off fuel fill when tank is full resulting in backsplashing onto vehicle, ground and most importantly the person filling the fuel tank.this could be deadly!

When filling up my fuel tank on my 2007 jeep wrangler at any gas station an alarming amount of gasoline gushes out of the fuel filler neck after the fuel pump has automatically shut off. I do not recalling this happening when the vehicle was new, it's only recently that this has occurred. Probably started around 8 months ago. It does not appear to be gas pump specific, i've tried approximately 20 different gas stations over the amount of time that this has been occurring. Fuel spills out onto the vehicle, the ground and also myself. Sometimes to the point that i've had to change clothes due to fuel splashing onto my garments.

After the fuel pump at a gasoline station shuts off indicating my gas tank is full, gasoline spews back out of the tank through the opening where the gas pump nozzle is inserted once the nozzle is pulled out after fueling.the amount of fuel spilled is significant.i believe it could cause damage to my paint and plastic pieces on my vehicle and is also a fire and environmental hazard.this is not a result of continuing to pump fuel while removing the nozzle.the flow of fuel through the nozzle has stopped but pressure from inside the tank forces fuel out when the gas nozzle is removed.this has occurred on multiple occasions at multiple gas stations and did not occur earlier in the vehicle's history and does not occur when i am fueling other vehicles.

Starting in late 2008, when refueling my 2007 jeep wrangler jk, the automatic shutoff at gas pumps doesn't shut off when my tank is full causing fuel to overflow and occasional splash out of the fuel filler neck of the vehicle.if i do not shut off the gas pump manually before it is full, this has occurred every time i put fuel in the vehicle.this issue has resulted in minor to significant fuel spillage including soaking my hands and feet in fuel at various times.other than monitoring and stopping the pump during refueling, i have taken no action to resolve the issue.

Purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler jk about 6 weeks ago.i have tried different gas stations. Gas will spill out when filling up. Pump nozzle will release/pop after gas is already over flowed and on the ground.

When fillinggas on my 2007 jeep wrangler. The gas nozzle will click off at full. And then 2-3 seconds latter aprox. One quart of gas will spill out of the filler neck down the side of the jeep onto the ground. This has been an on going problem for the last 3 months.

Fuel overfills from filler neck when filling at gas station.i've tried several different things to get it to not overfill, but it doesn't.and now i've read that many people are having the same issue.

When i go to fill up my gas tank.this is without even toping it off myself.this happens when you fill up till it clicks.and no further.i fill my tank with fuel and it overflows causing fuel to spill all over the vehicle and the ground at the gas station.this happens every time i fill my tank.

Gas tank overflows and shoots gas out on the jeep and myself everytime i fill up.

Fuel spills out of fuel filler neck when filling tank completely.this happens every time i fill up my vehicle, spilling fuel on the side of the vehicle, bumper and ground.

Fuel overflow beginning at 32,345 miles on an 07 jeep wrangler x model.

Fuel spills out after the nozzle kicks off.

When refueling, when the tank is full and the fuel pump nozzle shuts off, fuel splashes out of the fill neck.this happens on each fill up.

Gas overflow at every fill up on my 2007 jeep wranglertw*

About three months ago fuel starting spilling out of vehicle during re-fueling.

2007 jeep wrangler jk - 2 door x - fuel overflow issue - when fueling vehicle, fuel spills out of fuel filler prior to stopping.approx. 1 pint of fuel pours outside of fuel system and onto ground.this poses a high risk of fire and accident. Recurring incident every time vehicle is filled.

Gas tank overflows on every single fill up at multiple gas stations.

2007 jeep wrangler 2-door1) nearly every time i fill up my gas tank, which holds 15 - 16 gallons per my estimate and fill-up history, it overflows (i have had the car for 13 months, fill up twice a week; 56 weeks x 2 = 112 * 0.90 = 100 times this has happened). The overflow is not because the tank is over-filled, as it is possible, in my experience, to add an additional gallon after initial overflow.2) the mechanism that shuts off the pump handle automatically when the fuel tank is becoming full does not stop the pump. This results in excess fuel ending up all over the side of my car, the attached gas cap, and one's shoes and person if one is not expecting the fuel to spit back out.3) nothing has been done as of yet to correct the failure.

Every time i fill my 2007 jeep wrangler with gas at a gas station, the automatic shutoff triggers too late and gas spews out of the fill tube.usually enough spills to leave a 1-2 ft^2 puddle on the ground.i've tried many different gas stations all with exactly the same result.

Fuel spills out of the filler port during fueling. It happens when filling the tank to full. When the gas pump automatically shuts or clicks off, fuel spills down the side of the vehicle or shoots from the fill or nozzle. This covers the side of the vehicle, the ground, and sometimes the person fueling if standing nearby. Issue has occurred at many different pumps. Issue began at approximately 20,000 miles (reached in approx 2008) and has continued ever since.

I purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon new.shortly after purchase, i discovered that gasoline would frequently overflow the filler port when fueling the vehicle.for some reason, once the pump shuts off, fuel overflows the port and flows over the side of the vehicle and onto the ground.

After 25,000 miles, my jeep wrangler's gas tank overflows every time i fill up.the event occurs every time i fill up with gas. Gas blows forcibly up out of the hole where the gas nozzle from the pump goes into the vehicle. The gas goes all over my vehicle and everything/everyone in the immediate vicinity.chrysler refuses to admit there is a problem.

The gas inside of my gas tank shoots out after the pump automatically shuts off when the tank is full.

While pumping gas, when it is nearly full the gas pump will spit the gas out at you. More info here:http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/have-fuel-spill-problems-like-many-us-submit-complaint-force-recall-974337/.

Gas overflows instead of stopping when full. This happens whenever filling tank. Dealer wanted 500.00 to replace entire tank as the answer when clearly the issue is with vent. Gas spills around vehicle.

When i use auto fill on my vehicle, it overflows as it stops pumping.this has been happening every time i fill up (last couple times).

2007 jeep wrangler jk, 2 door, sahara model when filling the gas tank, there is gas overflow back outside the tank, splashes over the nozzle handle, down the side of the jeep and pools on the pavement.this happens regardless of station, holding the gas spigot by hand or with various automatic settings.*cw

When filling the gas tank on my 2007 jeep wrangler, gas will overflow onto the jeep, the ground and myself.happens everytime i try to fill tank.this is both a safety hazard and an environmental hazard.

Myjeep gas tank overflows when filling the tank at the gas station.

While fueling, the gas tank and vent pipe cause back pressure resulting in fuel spray and overflow.the overflow can cover the person filling in fuel and spill up to a gallon of gasoline on the vehicle and ground.

When i fuel the jeep it "spits out" gas. It only started doing this after 40k miles. It now does it every time!

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler x and it seems every other time i fill the gas tank the tank will over fill and fuel will spray out of the filler neck.it is not just a slow over flow it is literally a spray of gasoline coming out.i talked to the local dealer and they said that they have heard this from many other owners but do not see anything wrong with my jeep.i have tried many different gas stations and i get the same result everywhere i go.so it would seem that this is a problem with the jeep and not the pump.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon 2-door and every time i fill gasoline it spews out everywhere and this does not matter how fast the flow of gas is or at what depth the pump handle is.it is enough gas to come up and out of the filler tube run down my rear quarter panel and make a puddle on the ground. Not a safe situation with the uncontrollable discharge of a highly flammable liquid.

In the past month the vehicle has begun to "spit up" gasoline when filling up at the service station. Whenever i fill the tank to full and the fill nozzle automatically cuts off, a good amount of gasoline comes up through the filler neck spilling out onto the ground. Various jeep owners have encountered the same issue and have posted it on the net those that have sought to have the problem remedied have usually had a new tank installed and/or some sort of emissions valve replaced. My vehicle is out of warranty and my dealer will not even look at it without me paying a 'diagnosis' fee. Furthermore i cannot afford to pay for a new gasoline tank on a vehicle that's only 3 years old and has 27,300 miles! i have resorted to only filling my tank 3/4 of the way. I feel this presents various safety issues since there is a significant amount of gasoline spillage presenting a dangerous situation at the pump.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. The contact stated that when filling the fuel tank, the fuel would spill back out when the tank was full. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer they stated that they were unaware of any defect. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

My 2007 jeep wrangler has all of a sudden started spewing fuel from the gas tank each time i fill up.i don't try to top off the gas tank.basically, the pump clicks, and then when i remove the nozzle from the tank, fuel starts spewing all over.it got on my hands and shoes, and all over the side of my jeep. This now seems to happen every time i fill up.

Everytime i fill the tank it "spits back" gas. No matter how slow or what station i go to. It was fine until about 40k miles. Now it is a real safety issue.

Vehicle spits out fuel if you allow the auto shut off to run from the pump.if i fill up my tank until the pump shuts off it will overflow about a quart of fuel on the floor.took it to the dealer but they said it did not happen for them. I have recorded the next three fill ups and it did it every time.my vehicle is a 2007 but was built in 10/2006.chrysler has issued a fix for this problem on similar vehicles built after 03/2007.

Fuel spills out when pumping gas at any station.

2007 jeep wrangler. Gas overflows when refueling. It happens when you just let the pump click off when full. I have never tried to overfill it, or "top it off". You simply fill until the pump clicks, and then a fair amount of fuel seems to bubble back out. It runs down the side of the vehicle and then leaves a fairly large puddle on the ground. This is definitely a safety hazard. This did not happen for about the first 2-1/2 years of ownership (23,000 miles) now it is just about every fill up.

When fueling up the vehicle, when the auto shut off turns the pump off the fuel overflows out of the fuel port.even when slow pumping it still overflows.

I own a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr rubicon model that chrysler's recently released tsb to replace gas tanks due to fuel tank overflow and spillage does not cover.my build date is 11-06 and is prior to the 3-07 beginning build date that chrysler will repair.i have this fuel overflow and spillage problem every time i fill up.first i would do everything to avoid spilling fuel for my and others safety however after being left out of the tsb from chrysler and you all closing the case on the incident i feel completely disenfranchised and i have decided to let you know the seriousness and need for this to expedited that i will no longer be careful and i will allow this problem to occur everytime i fill up.this opinion is shared by many others and our idea is we are going to give this problem every chance of being as disastrous as possible to get this problem solved as quickly as possible.i know this tactic is not safe or responsible however neither is what has been done wit this situation all together.hopefully this dangerous and aggravating situation can be resolved quickly.

Fuel sprays from the filler neck while refueling.problem has occurred for the past six months.occurred at every station i have attempted to refuel.

2007 jeep wrangler- when filling up for gas the tank overflows before the pump is switched off. I have tried multiple gas stations in multiple states, still overflows every time.

Every time i fill my jeep wrangler with gas as soon as the gas pump stops pumping it spits fuel back out of the filler tube. I have tried several gas stations and it happens every time.

Gas overflows and spills out of the gas filler tube every time i fill up on my 2007 jeer wrangler x.

When trying to do a complete fill-up of fuel, the pump will shut off as it should, and then a moderate amount of fuel will "burp" out of the opening.it spills down the side of the vehicle and on to the ground.unsafe, unpleasant, and environmentally irresponsible.this is a recurring problem.the jeep had no issues for over two years, since fall of 2009 it has been occurring, will do it everytime i do a full fill-up, no matter what gas station i use.i no longer do full fill-ups as a result, which makes it difficult to properly track fuel economy.

Fuel spills out of gas tank nozzle when filling up.

When refueling the pump automatically shuts off then gas over flows. This happens regularly now at different gas stations. The problem has gotten much worse and frequent over time. I can not date the other incidents as i thought it was a pump problem intill it happened 3 times in one day on a long road trip at 3 different stations that i looked into the problem to find many others have the issue.

2007 jeep wrangler gas tank overflows during/ after refueling ( surge of fuel)happens every time tops of tanks.

Gas tank overflows when gas pump is left in automatic position. There has been a recall for my year and model of vehicle, but it's not within the manufacture date of the recall. There are many other jeep wrangler owners with the exact same problem. I am a firefighter, so i do realize that this is a very serious safety issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. The manufacture date is 12/06.

Gas overflows tank @ almost every fill-up.

Vehicle failed to shut off fuel pump during refueling operation when tank became full, allowing fuel to overflow onto the side of the jeep, and onto the ground.

2007 jeep wrangler gas filler neck.when topping off the tank with gas about 1-2 cups of gas comes out of the filler neck.using the same pump on other cars it shuts off fine.even when filling at a slow rate this happens.

I recently purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4 from a dealer.the past handful of times we have filled the vehicle with gas, gas has sprayed out all over the car, ground and myself.i am not topping off the vehicle - i am filling up to the point of when the pump automatically stops.this is not safe and i have seen numerous complaints of this same type.something needs to be done to correct this.

About 1 out of every 2 times i refuel my 2007 jeep wrangler x, it doesn't sense that it is full and overflows all over the vehicle, ground, and myself. Not good for the environment, my paint, and my exposure to gasoline on my skin.

Everytime i refuel, gasoline will overflow and spill onto the ground.the pump will not stop the flow of fuel in time to prevent spillage.i've tried to slow the flow as it nears a full tank, but the problem has persisted.the only thing that will stop the fuel from overflowing is simply not filling the tank completely full.i have to stop at about 7/8ths.

Jeep wrangler 2007 vehicle consistently spills gas when refueling.

2007 jeep wrangler xwhen filling the gas tank, it flows back, almost a 1/4 of a gallon of gas.

Starting from the first time i filled my gas tank on my 2007 jeep wrangler 2 door xs package, every time i fill or come close to filling the gas tank and the pump automatically shuts off the fuel spills/ and or sprays out of the fuel filling tube. Many times it has sprayed me or whoever is pumping the gas.

My 2007 jeep wrangler overfills when ever i add gas. This results in sometimes spraying on me but, always spilling over onto the vehicle and ground.

When filling gas, gas blows back onto person filling and draining down vehicle. Told there was extended recall, but never received anything from manufacturer. Told to submit issue to gov.'t. Contacted dealership who told me i would have to wait for letter, but never received any for this, however received others.

I bought a used 2007 jeep wrangler 2 door with 34,000 miles on it. I had filed the gas tank several times only to have it backflow on to me and the side of the jeep making a real mess and creating a major safety hazard. Of course i blamed the service station pump for not stopping in time but this happens on every fill up when trying to fill the tank full. This problem is a dangerous problem and should be corrected before someone gets injured. My warranty is up 40,000 milesand i am told it needs a new gas tank to repair which of course is several hundred dollars of repair cost. This faulty part demands a safety recall be implemented or maybe a possible class action lawsuit before someone is injured.

The gas tank overflls every time i pump gas into it at the gas station.

When fueling the gas tank, the auto-shutoff valve at any service station will not shut off in time to prevent fuel splash out of the filler pipe and get on the person doing the fueling and pours down on the ground.this is not isolated to just a few service stations - it happens each and every time you fill this vehicle with gas.

2007 jeep wrangler x overflows at the gas pump even after the pump 'clicks'.this is the fourth time this has happened.pump should shut off at around 18 gallons when the click occurs but for some reason the click sounds goes off and gas begins to overflow out of the jeep.gas spills all over the jeep, the ground, and me.nothing has been done to fix the failure as i am unsure to what the issue is/what the dealer will do.planning on taking it in to the dealer after christmas.

Gas tank overflow during fill up.this occurs almost every time i fill to full.i have stopped filling the tank to full to help stop this issue.

My car was parked on an incline of about 20 degrees and i had 1/4 tank of gas. When i went to start the car it wouldn't turn on. All the lights on the dash came on, but the engine wouldn't turn over. My radio and lights worked fine. This is the 3rd time that this has happened in a year and 2 months. The two prior times, i coasted down to a flat area and the car started. Tonight it didn't. I think there is a problem with the fuel delivery system or fuel pump. The three times that this has happened i have had 1/4 of a tank of gas or less.

Whenever i put gas into my tank and fill up, there is always an overflow of gasoline spilling out of the tank and onto my jeep as well as onto the floor.aside from the damage being done to my vehicle, this causes damage to the environment from fumes as well as raising the potential for fires.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. While adding fuel to the tank and it reached the capacity, the fuel began to spill out of the tank splashing onto the contact the ground. The contact has called the manufacturer regarding the gas tank and the manufacturer stated they weren't aware of any related failures.the contact has made an appointment to have a diagnostic test done on the vehicle. The contact is concerned that the failure could cause a fire to occur. The failure mileage was 46,804.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that whenever gasoline was added to the fuel tank at least six ounces of it would leak out of the tank. The failure was not diagnosed by the dealer. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 33,000.updated 12/08/10. *ljthe consumer stated the problem was looked at twice, with no resolution/repair. The consumer has since traded the vehicle. Updated 12/14/10

I own a 2007 jeep wrangler that was manufactured in february of 2007. Every time i fill up the gas tank the fuel overflows and spills out of the nozzle, creating a hazardous puddle of flammable gasoline on the fender, the tire, the ground, and the person fueling it(me).

Gas overflow when filling tank, spills on ground contaminate or safety cancer or fire, epa concerns of every new wrangler spills that is gallons of gas wasted or contaminating across the usaepa get involved please , every time filling up jeep wrangler 2007!!!!it spills!!!

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler. Everytime i fill it up with gas the automatic cutoff fails and gas overflows and spills down the side of the jeep and onto the ground. It doesn't what gas station or where, it happens everytime.

When fillinggas on my 2007 jeep wrangler. The gas nozzle will click off at full. And then 2-3 seconds latter aprox. One quart of gas will spill out of the filler neck down the side of the jeep onto the ground. This has been an on going problem for the last 3 months.

2007 jeep wrangler just before fuel nozzle automatically shuts off while refueling vehicle, gas flows out of the filler neck and down the side of the vehicle on to the ground. Happens every time i refuel, at any gas station doesn't matter which supplier.

My fuel tank overflows when filling tank.every time.every filling station we have tried.

While refilling the gas tank, as the gas pump shuts off it spills gas all over the floor. It almost spilled all overon me.

During refueling, when tank is full fuel overflows out of the filler as the pump shuts off.every time at every gas station.very dangerous, gas on the side of jeep and on the ground.

This vehicle spits fuel all over the operator when trying to pump fuel in.

The fuel tank overflows every time the tank is filled no matter what station or pump is used.

When refueling, fuel spits back out of tank.approximately 1-1.5 litres, every time when tank is filled.usually comes out with enough force to cover my hands, pants, and shoes with gasoline.very dangerous!

There is a problem when filling the gas tank, when the gas pump clicks off, fuel spills out on my vehicle and the ground, its been going on for about 6 months

2007 jeep wrangler 2dr. 4x4..approx mileage 27,000 miles.while driving a relatively low speed (30 -45 mph), the vehicle encounters a bump in the road, or an uneven spot, a violent shaking begins and is uncorrectable until the vehicle is brought to a near complete stop.the dealership calls this the "death wobble".this has gone on for approximately 6 months time.the most recent occurrence was the worst, it happened at a higher speed (approx. 50 mph) and resulted in a near collision/rollover.same has been returned to the dealership and is pending.

Hood raises up about 2 inches and the safety catch holds the hood down when a semi truck is coming from the opposite direction or on windy days.the causes a big distraction when it looks as if the hood is going to fly up on a regular basis.dealership advised that there is not a recall on the hood latches.

Hood pops up at highway speeds due to inadequate, unsafe rubber hood latches.at highway speeds the two rubber hood straps are not strong enough to hold the hood closed.on two lane roads, the air turbulence from large oncoming vehicles will cause the hood to lift approximately two inches until the safety latch engages.this causes a dangerous distraction when the hood rises and then slams down after the oncoming vehicle passes.

Engine is consuming excess amount of oil between oil changes. No oil leaks detected (no leaks found). Engine is consuming 7 to 8 quarts of oil per 5000 miles.noticed this around 45,000 miles. My jeep now has 62,000 on the odometer.

Jeep wrangler 2007: first gear (manual transmission) pops out during acceleration. All other gears (2nd to 6th) work normally.

I was driving down the road the jeep started spitting and sputtering i pulled over to see what was going on as i go to get out it bursted into flames from under the hood then quickly spread throughout the whole jeep quickly

Driving down the highway normal traffic conditions.vehicle shut off at 65mph on highway with loss of all electrical.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. While attempting to reverse the vehicle, the gear shift failed to switch gears without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the gear connector link failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but not by the dealer. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired again. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

At 2 mph in 2h and 1st gear of manual transmission, drove onto a wet grassy area and engaged the transfer case into 4h.after 150 feet at 3 mph and vehicle rolling, i depressed clutch and shifted transfer case into 4l. Made u-turn and crept at 2 mph.moving forward, depressed clutch, let off gas and shifted transfer case into 4h, drove to the edge of street and stopped. With foot on brake, and clutch depressed, i shifted the transfer case into 2h position but heard snapping sound and the lever went loose. Taking hold of the lever, i found it flopped freely forward and back. Manual transmission was in first gear, but when i let the clutch up, the vehicle didnt move. Moved the gearshift to neutral and back into 1st gear. Released the clutch but the vehicle didnt move. Turned vehicle off, engaged parking brake, and inspected underneath. Nothing hanging from the transmission or transfer case. Depressed clutch, put gearshift lever in neutral and started. Put the gearshift lever into 1st, but when i let up on clutch, the vehicle did not move. I released the clutch with gearshift lever in 1st and released the parking brake. The vehicle rolled backward into the swale. Vehicle towed to jeep dealership. Invoice states, "customer states while shifting veh. Into 4h something snapped and now veh. Won't go into gear at all. Tech found transfer case shift cable broken at both ends. Completed removal & replacement of transfer case shift cable. My concern is this could happen when someone shifts into 4h while driving on a wet, slippery road surface up to 50 mph. The vehicle would quickly loose forward momentum, coasting to a stop, and possibly be struck from behind.

Transmission over heated and purged fluid on to hot exhaust manifold/cat converter. Jeep did not catch on fire but was close enough to cause alarm it was severely smoking enough to alert others drivers who waved me over. Its been having shift problems since purchased new in 07/07, including sever shuddering between 1-2 shifts and not downshifting unless holding the throttle down for 2-4 seconds making it really hard to keep up in regular traffic. Current mileage is 6,200. Local dealer keeps flashing the computer with software upgrades but nothing improves conditions. Current word from dealer is that "condition could not be duplicated / no 'codes' stored".

Engine died @ 65 mph,and at other times at stop lights and while driving on off road trail. Trans didn't upshift while trying to merge on hiway and while attempting to pass other vehicles. Dealer said there wasn't anything wrong with vehicle.

Whilst driving at 65mph the vehicle began to vibrate violently and become uncontrollable. Almost like it was bouncing from tire to tire. Came to a stop and turned off the engine. Took the vehicle to the dealership and was told they have recognized the problem and fixed it. I was told it was a problem with the torque converter. This occurred around 14000 miles. Since it was "fixed" i have had problems with the transmission and went back to the dealership who could not find a problem. The initial problem occurred again at around 16,000 miles the vehicle becomes uncontrollable due to the violent shaking. This is a serious safety issue.

07 jeep wrangler jumps out of first gear intermittently.

Sixth occurrence of problem: when in first gear, the gear bangs and locks-up. This normally occurs when just starting across an intersection after being stopped at a red light. This is extremely dangerous, as another vehicle could rear-end me or side hit me if i were making a left turn across an intersection. My local dealership cannot duplicate this problem when in for service. I have researched other jeep wrangler vehicle owners with this same problem reported, and the only fix was a complete transmission replacement. Other odi by me 1030673(2/5/2010); 10310930(2/16/2010); 10310938(2/16/2010).

2007 jeep wrangler.when leaving a stop, manual transmission violently pops out of 1st gear on acceleration.this seems to happen when acceleration is needed most of all such as when turning left on a busy 4-lane road.driver is then unable to put car in any gear for several seconds.this will lead to a serious accident eventually by being hit broadside or from the rear if stalled leaving a traffic light or stop sign.dealer acts like they never heard of this but the web is full of similar reports.there is no fix for this other than a transmission redesign.this has happened about 15 times in the past 3-years. The only thing that seems to help is to hold the shifter firmly in 1st gear when accelerating to prevent it from popping out of gear. I'm going to have to trade the jeep because it is unsafe.unfortunately the dealer will sell it to some poor unsuspecting person who will probably kill himself.

Starting with the purchase of the 2007 jeep in may 2007 we have had nothing but problems. Leaky roof, electrical stall issue (still not fixed after multiple recalls), electronic stability death wobble, etc.

Fifth occurrence of problem: when in first gear, the gear bangs and locks-up. This normally occurs when just starting across an intersection after being stopped at a red light. This is extremely dangerous, as another vehicle could rear-end me or side hit me if i were making a left turn across an intersection. 2007 jeep wrangler with a manual 6-speed transmission. When starting from a stop 1st gear will disengage (pop-out) transmission when the clutch is released. Does not happen everytime but occasionally, with no warning, often leaving one in the middle of oncoming traffic unable to accelerate without having to re-engage 1st gear or going directly to 2nd gear.

The jeep wrangler jk series with manual transmissions have in inner shift boot that becomes dislodged and cause the vehicle to pop out of gear. This happens at least once a month. My jeep was brought to the dealership for repair and the problem happened again after 2 months. Other jeep wrangler owners report the same issue.

When in first gear, the gear bangs and locks-up. This normally occurs when just starting across an intersection after being stopped at a red light.this is extremely dangerous, as another vehicle could rear-end me, or i could be hit while making a left turn across an intersection.this has happened 3 times to me now. The latest time was today.i have researched this problem and other jeep wrangler 6-speed owners are having the same problem with little help at local dealerships.i had this at my local dealership on 1/25/10 and they could not duplicate problem at 17,936 mileage. The same problem occurred on 1/18/2010. Other drivers have indicated the only fix for the problem has been a total transmission replacement. Problem continues and no fix because dealership cannot replicate problem.

Fourth occurrence of problem:when in first gear, the gear bangs and locks-up. I acquired my jeep wrangler (manual transmission) in january of 2007, shortly thereafter it started popping out of 1st gear. At first it was just once or twice a month, it has progressed to a point where it was doing it 4-6 times per day.at first i thought that i was not engaging it properly, but i've subsequently tried to hold it in 1st gear and it forces itself out of gear so hard that it almost broke my wrist. I've noticed that it pops out more upon low to medium acceleration. Last month, i approached an intersection in an attempt to make a right had turn. As i attempted to make the turn from a stopped position, upon moderate acceleration, the transmission popped out of first gear and left me stalled in neutral in front of oncoming traffic. Fortunately, the vehicle behind was able to skid and barely hit my slowed vehicle. At this point my wife stopped driving the vehicle as she felt it was two dangerous. I was now convinced that this condition was very unsafe and returned the vehicle (@49,500 miles) to a jeep dealership for repair. The dealership updated the 1-2 synchronizer assembly with stronger detent springs pursuant to the chrysler/jeep technical service bulletin 21-001-10 that was issued on march 2, 2010. I encourage you to investigate this defect in order to prevent serious injury or death to additional vehicle owners.

Manual transmission does not shift properly since day one of ownership. It has been serviced by 3 different dealerships and remains problematic and dangerous. At the current time it is hard to shift into second gear and "pops" out of first gear.

Safety issue regarding entry and exit from 07 jeep wrangler 2dr. Seat does not fold forward properly to allow an average size adult entry or exit from the rear of the vehicle!in addition, there is improper placement of the seat belt system blocking the path as well. Older model wranglers had a seat that allowed the seat to fold completely forward.

I am currently in possession of a jeep wrangler 2 door with a soft top. The only problem with the car is that the soft top leaks like a faucet anytime there is rain. While at first i thought it to only be a nuisance, after the third time i began to notice many problems related to the leaks. The floormats were constantly soaked and eventually started to form mildew, the pedals would become slippery and difficult to operate due to the wetness, the water was occasionally leaking into to speakers on the vents on the dashboard and working its way into the rear of the dashboard, and the seats tended to slide a little bit on the rails that are used to lock the seat in place while driving. This is a widespread problem for the 07 and 08 wranglers and dealerships seem to be brushing it off as a minor inconvenience. However, when the water starts affecting other systems of the car it is no longer an inconvenience, it is now a safety item. That is why i am bringing this item to your attention.

The right front brake hose between the frame mount and the connecting point on the brake cylinder, blew out at the snap connection end. This resulted in complete loss of all hydraulic braking ability. The cause of the breakage was due to the brake hose rubbing against the inner tire wall whenever the tires were turned to the full stop position of left or right direction. Both ( right and left )break hoses rub the inside of the tires. Had i been driving at the time, there is no doubt that an accident would have occurred possibly causing injury or even death to people. As it was, the line blew when i stepped on the brake to shift into gear. I was in a parking lot. I do have pictures available plus the damaged part for review.

Approx. 3 weeks after we purchased our new 2007 jeep wrangler we experienced a premature engagement of the esp system under normal driving conditions at a speed of 35mph.this caused the vehicle to swerve due to automatic braking and shut down of throttle.we took the vehicle to chrysler service and they replaced 3 leaking brake calipers.approx. 2 weeks later we experienced the same problem while exiting the interstate at a low speed.we immediately returned the vehicle to chrysler service and they replaced the rear wheel speed sensors.again, 1 week later the same problem occured while exiting the interstate.chrysler service replaced the steering wheel angle sensor.the 4th incident occurred 2 weeks later while pulling out of a parking lot.the service department cannot duplicate or repair the problem.we filed a lemon law claim with chrysler that is currently under settlement.we have been told they will be replacing the vehicle and the paperwork is being processed.

I own 1.5 month old 2007 wrangler.i was pulling into a parking spot at a local business. I put my foot on the brake and car doesn't stop. I went up on the curb. I brake again. Doesn't stop.i turn the wheel so i wont go into the glass of the business.i hit their patio and brick wall.the car wont back up or move.i turn it off and on again, then it moves.the workers came out to make sure i was ok.i told them the brakes didnt work.i had no idea what was going on and i was terrified to drive my car.i call to have car towed to dealer.i look up online inside the business to see of any similar probs.all over internet there are recalls on brakes of my model, make, year vehicle.at dealer, i mention recall possibility and they have no idea" what i'm talking abt. And have "never heard of such a thing..." they were going to test drive" it.why someone would want to do that when i just told them i had prob with brakes is beyond me.they say its "fine."they tell me they are going to take off wheels and thoroughly check it.hook it up to computer and run a few tests.see if it caught any codes.i say fine.both people that i spoke with asked me if "any brake lights came on... Abs or any other right before it happened."no idea... Didnt have time to check during incident.an hour later they come back and tell me "nothing is wrong" "no codes" that "they took for 2nd test drive and its fine." but they are confident that i can drive it.mileage on car the same as when i got there.i'm still terrified.i know something happened with my car.and i know that i could have killedsomeone.they told me that they looked up my vin and no recalls.they told me to call cust service.i did.after getting my info, they told me that they would "get other parties involved..." and i should "contact the dealership tomorrow.i try the dealership the next day.no answer the 3 x i try.i call the main cust service line again.was told"the dealership found nothing wrong. You need to contact your insurance comp to fix your car.

Abs/ traction control/ electronic stability control engages at times when using highway on/ off ramps and without applying the brakes.vehicle had been previously repaired for this issue by updating the abs control module software to the latest version, but the issue still persists.the abs malfunction indicator light illuminates and stays illuminated, but the dealer can find no trouble codes.note: this vehicle did not fall into campaign 06v493000 as the abs module under the scope of that recall was introduced two days after this vehicle was built.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4.the contact stated maybe there was a safety defect on his vehicle.the rear brake line, which is located on both sides of the vehicle, was not secured within the wheel.the lines were located near the tires and rims.the current and failure mileages were 832. Updated 01/02/08. *ljthe consumer stated there was no failure. This is just an owners concern regarding the location of the brake lines and their exposure to damage due too many potential sources. Updated 12/12/07

While coasting to a stop sign today, i went to press the brake pedal to find the pedal locked at the top of the travel.as i pressed the pedal, the abs started modulating like the tires were locked up, but they weren't as i was on dry pavement and not slowing down at all.i frantically pumped the brake pedal and after several depressions (3-5) the pedal unlocked and traveled normally allowing me to stop the vehicle.

When driving at highway speed hit a bump and i get a violent uncontrollable shaking of front end.

While traveling down a 35 mph county road, i went into a small turn and my jeep started violently shaking to the point that i could not control the steering. I have researched this on the web and have seen it often called "death wobble". I managed to pull over into a church parking lot and decided to turn around and take it back home. Once i got going, the steering wheel again began violently shaking and again i had no control of the vehicle. I called my husband to come get me because i was not driving this vehicle anymore like this. He crawled under the jeep and noticed the welds of the steering stabilizer bracket had completely broken off from the front axle. This is the second time this has happened. On oct 11, 2011, i lost control of the jeep and ran off the road into a ditch. There was $4000 worth of damage including replacement of the front axle because the steering stabilizer bracket had separated from the axle! i have no doubt in my mind because of the occurrence of this second incident that the first accident was at no fault of my own but instead a manufacturer flaw in the design of this bracket!

Upon driving over an uneven area of pavement (i.e. Train tracks, expansion joint, etc.) steering wheel and front wheels shake violently back and forth.first occurrence in march 2009 at 24,575 miles, dealer determined it was the steering dampener, replaced.second occurrence in september 2010 at 27,929 miles, dealer replaced the dampener and updated mounting bracket.third occurrence april 2011 at 33,845 miles (only 5,916 miles on second replacement).dealer refused to do anything because it was over the 12 month part warranty.contacted chrysler complaint resolution, same answer.they stated they contacted the dealer who said they refused repair due to "excessive off-road usage".vehicle has not been used off road since the second replacement and the dealer has not seen the vehicle since then.

While driving north at 65mph in the middle lane of a three lane (northbound)freeway, a small bump was encountered and the steering column shook violently until the vehicle was brought to a complete stop, still in the middle lane. The dealer said it was a steering damper problem ( a known "technical recall") and a "weak damper" (part # 02152001) was replaced with a "heavy-duty" steering damper (part # 52060058ae). The vehicle was returned today and driven without incident. The nature of the problem could have resulted in serious accident/injury but did not. The driver is not aware that jeep has every issued a recall concerning this problem.

I've experienced the occurrence known as the "jeep death wobble" twice now since buying this jeep last year.both happened while driving approx. 50mph on highway.

When going around 45 mph or higher, when you hit a bump the front end shakes uncontrollably causing almost all loss of control of vehicle.

As far as i can tell, i am not the only one with the "death wobble." while driving on the interstate about 65 mph, i crossed over a bridge and when my front tires got to the edge of the bridge on i-65, my jeep began shaking almost uncontrollably. This has happened at 5 times now in the last year and i assumed it was tire, shock, or alignment issues. New tires and shocks and front end aligned. Nothing different!

Vehicle is exhibiting an unsafe speed wobble while driving above 40 mph, vehicle only has 50k miles, i already had all of the suspension components replaced and the condition remains, chrysler/jeep as a manufacturer should come up with a repair whether it is covered by manufacturer or by customer paid, there should be a proper repair for the problem, this condition could potentially cause an accident and injury

When going faster than 50 miles per hour the car shakes and wobbles and is not controllable.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4. The contact was driving 60 mph when the front wheels began to shake uncontrollably. The contact stated that the failure would cease once the vehicle was decelerated to 40 mph. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who adjusted the tire pressure and performed an alignment but to no avail. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer but the technician was unable to diagnose the failure.the vehicle was taken to a second dealer who advised that the failure was attributed to a combination of a defect in the steering dampener, tire wear and an alignment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed ut no further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 53,106.

2007 jeep wrangler steering ( death wobble)http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ef2d28f.

Was driving on the interstate when the jeep started shaking like crazy couldn't control it almost caused wreck between two tractor trailers thought it just fell out of gear but then a week later it did it againgoing around a curve and almost went over a very steep hill side to later do research found out that it has been a on going issue called death wobble several things cause it that are defects took it to the dealership to find out they have to replace damper bracket kit, steering damper, damper tire rod, damper bracket nut and a bolt only had the jeep 3 months the dealership had never heard of it which i was told they say that thru the online comments from others who have had same problem i printed out all information so they could see what was going on now there charging me to fix the problem to also find out that the jeep never went thru the service department until i took it back asking when the oil change and tire rotation was do on it there wasn't any records inthere system of it being thru there service department so they just put on the lot to sale basically so they changed the oil then and serviced it now im with out a vehicle for 5-6 days while they order the parts and fix it i've never had this much trouble out of a vehicle paying so much money for it and 3 months in already having to fork out money to have it safe and drivable so filing this complaint to hopeful help others in my situation on a safety defect that should be fixed by the company and not the individual before someone gets killed like i did almost twice before i knew what was happening.

Death wobble on my 2007 jeep wrangler. My wife and i hit a bump on the highway the thing started shaking violently. This has happened a couple other times since. Very scary and dangerous.

My 2007 jeep wrangler 2 door developed a violent shake when i would hit a bump or go over railroad tracks at speeds around 15 mph to 25 mph.the steering wheel would jerk left and right, almost to the point that i could not maintain control of the steering wheel or the vehicle.i could feel the front wheel shaking back and forth.the only way to stop it would be to bring the vehicle to a complete stop.after a great deal of diagnosing this issue, i removed the front traction bar and noticed that the bolt holes on both the frame and axle brackets that secure the traction bar had become elongated.due to the vehicle being out of warranty, i took it to a welding shop.they advised me that the only way to fix this problem would be to weld a heavy duty washer on both sides of each mounting bracket to secure the mounting bolts.the welding shop also informed me that this would not be a permanent fix, but may last for a while.they also informed my that the metal brackets appeared to be made of weak metal and the bolts are grade 8.they said this explains that the bracket is weaker than the bolt and that is why the brackets gave way.after the washers were welded on the brackets, the shaking has gone and has not returned. I have read on jk-forum.com of many other jeep wranglers that have had this exact same problem.this is a dangerous problem that needs to be investigated.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a death wobble. While driving 60 mph over a pothole the steering wheel began to shake violently back and forth and became uncontrollable. As he was trying to control the shaking and trying not to hit the guard rail the vehicle started to slow down and the shaking ceased.the dealer or manufacturer have not been notified. The failure mileage was 19,000.

The jeep death wobble has been happening to my vehicle since october 2011. I purchased thevehicle in october 2010. It happened once in 2011, i took it into the shop to see what was wrong and they said nothing was wrong with it. In the past two months it has started up again. I live in a remote area in alaska where the nearest city is 100 miles, only reached by highway. Each trip i would hit a bump and almost hit the guard rail at 65 mph. I stopped driving it until two weeks ago on my way back home from work (10 miles from home) it happened 3 times in the speed of 35-55. It was completely violent shaking where each time i was not able to control it. It only got worse with braking. The entire vehicle was uncontrollable. I am unable to take it to mechanics shop because it is 100 miles away and i am not putting my family or i at risk of an accident on an alaska highway.

2007 jeep wrangler x "death wobble".at around 45000 miles, my jeep front end started to occasionally wobble (sometimes violently) at 50-60mph.the problem has only gotten worse and the vehicle is now unsafe to drive above 45mph due to the wobble that will yank the steering wheel out of your hands and shake the vehicle all over the road.jeep has attempted to fix the vehicle but the problem is still there making the vehicle basically unusable and dangerous.a google search of this problem reveals that it is a major problem with the wrangler and a recall should be issued to fix this very dangerous problem.take a look at this wobble on the wrangler on youtube, or better yet, drive one with this problem and i have no doubt you will agree that this is very dangerous.

When driving at 40 mph or faster the car will hit a bump and start shaking violently to the point where loss of control could occur. Could possibly be just the tires, but seems a lot of earlier jk wranglers suffer from this.

After driving (between 45 mph and 55 mph) over a series of small bumps in the road (paved highway), i experienced (and am now continuing to experience, on a more frequent basis) a very dramatic, violent, terrifying, and nearly uncontrollable shaking of my entire vehicle (2007 jeep wrangler) which i have recently learned online (from reading countless reports from other jeep wrangler drivers experiencing the same terrifying event) is being called the dreaded jeep "death wobble" (appropriately named as one rightly feels as though the driver of and passengers within vehicle could possibly suffer a tragic and life-ending accident resulting from this obvious very serious vehicle malfunction).as a loyal jeep customer and owner over the past 3 decades (having my vehicles regularly serviced as recommended at their authorized chrysler/jeep locations), i immediately reported this matter to chrysler/jeep corporation and after asking if a recall has been issued, was told "no" and that none was being considered.in absolute amazement (and disgust), i advised chrysler/jeep that such inaction by chrysler/jeep would not only place its vehicle owners at great personal risk (accident and possibly even death from resulting accidents), but could also subject chrysler/jeep to legal action such as class action suits being filed nationwide by each state's attorneys general's offices.please kindly fully investigate and take immediate corrective action to require chrysler/jeep to fully address and correct this unsafe, terrifying (and possibly even life-threatening) matter.thank you.

I have experienced on many occasions, something called the "death wobble."when driving anywhere between 40mph & 65mph, if i hit a pot-hole (especially on a curve), the front-end of my jeep starts shaking violently to the point where i have to pull over on the side of the highway.in a few instances, i was on a highway that did not have a shoulder and i was in the left lane.this is a very serious and dangerous safety issue.i have read thousands and thousands of complaints from people who also drive jeep wranglers, especially those made from 2005-2008.when i originally complained to jeep/chrysler, i was under warranty and they insisted i just needed an alignment and new tires.this only masked the problem for a few months until it happened again.by the time i went back to jeep, i was no longer under warranty and therefore, could not file a complaint under the lemon law.this has given me anxiety to the point where i now have an ulcer from having to drive this vehicle on the highway to work 25 miles each way.please help, before i or others die from this issue.

We have a 2007 model jeep wrangler.we are having issues with the steering dampener.it has been recalled on several models except this one.we are having to replace it because we have the "jeep death wobble".i have called chrysler and they say that they haven't recalled it on this model yet when we went to replace it at the dealership, you cannot purchase the original.you can only purchase the new one which requires all new brackets for installation.we have 2 friends that have the same model jeep that are having the same issues.my husband was nearly hit head on by a semi because when the wobble starts it shakes the entire front end and you must slam on your brakes to make it stop.when he did this it threw him into the other lane almost hitting the semi truck.is it going to take someone getting killed to get this problem fixed??

Jeep performs death wobble at 50-60 mph. Numerous trips and $$ to mechanics (plural) over end of 2012-present with no fix.this is wrong. Chrysler needs to buck up and fix it before it kills.

My horn does not work and i don't know if its making my engine light go on.

When the front passenger side tire hits a bump, gravel, or small amount of water the tire feels like it is bouncing.the vehicle is not able to be steered until the wobble/bouncing stops which is usually when the vehicle is almost stopped.

Follow up on incident #10225339wobble in the front end was bad control rod. Dealer ordered part to fix it on april 21st and i had an accident on april 22.minor damage to my jeep.reported to chrysler and the refused to repair damage to my jeep which was caused by a faulty part."inspector found no problems with the subject vehicle's steering/suspension system." the jeep dealership repaired the problem 4 days prior to the investigation at my house.contacted chrysler and they said the decision is final that they would make a note thevehicle wasrepaired prior to the investigation.

Within a couple weeks of driving i was on the interstate at about 65 mph and hit a small bridge bump, the steering wheel started shaking violently. I had to pull over.i brought it to the dealership and they said they fixed it.the shaking was still there just not as violent.in the past 7 years i have brought it to the dealership 4 times for the same problem.they say they fixed it and the same thing happened.after the warranty ran out they charged me over $3,000.00 to fix it. Again got a little better for awhile, the shaking wasn't as bad.then it happened again.i brought it back they said there was nothing wrong with it.i had someone take a video on the interstate after i hit a bridge bump showing violent shaking and dangerous control.i showed the dealership the problem they said they have seen it before and told me to call chrysler.i called them they said they never heard of that problem but would get back to me in a week.two weeks went by so i called them and they said there was nothing they could do and bring it back to the dealership which told me to call them.i am driving a death trap on the interstate and no one will identify and fix the problem.updated 01/12/16*ljthe consumer stated no one could explain why the tires were chopped, when all the suspension and steering components checked out fine. Updated 01.19.16.

While traveling on highway at 65 mph, car experienced a violent shaking.the entire vehicle shakes until speed is reduced to around 30 mph.this has happened many times over the last few months and always plays out in the same manner.very dangerous.

2007 jeep wranglerengine stalls and loss of electricity and power steering. This happened 2 times. Vehicle was driving under 50 mph for both instances. In both instances, the stall/loss of electricity/loss of power steering lasted for only about 1 second.

Starting with the purchase of the 2007 jeep in may 2007 we have had nothing but problems. Leaky roof, electrical stall issue (still not fixed after multiple recalls), electronic stability death wobble, etc.

Soft top leaks at seal and has a bad whistle.dealership ordered a new seal that is suppose to be larger theoriginal one.

Soft top and hard tops both leak in heavy rains or at the car wash.leak is from the a-pillar area above the doors.my 2007 jeep wrangler has been to the dealer four times to have the leak addressed.the dealership then had my warranty voided because my 2007 jeep wrangler had "signs" that it had been "offroad."

I bought my 2007 wrangler jk from herterich food/jeep in dover , de .it was brand new, and a few days after buying it, it had rained and my soft top leaked from the forward left and right sides of the soft top right at the corners of where it meets the windshield.i've taken it back to the dealer to have it fixed twice and still the same result.it always leaks regardless of what rain condition.note this was a brand new vehicle that i bought.and if it continues it im afraid it will cause water damage that is irreversible to my interior.

Top header on my 2007 wrangler has had several leaks on center console and by doors.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler that leaks.alot. I have had it in 8 times for repairs and it always still leaks. They have tried little foam strips and evan a new top all to no avail.

2007 jeep wrangler. I have experienced excessive hood flutter. This happens while driving on the highway if there is any wind. Based on events in this post on wranghlerforums. (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/hood-flutter-on-2017-hard-rock-almost-killed-me-dealer-refuses-to-fix-2283538.html) i have spent $125 and changes out the hood latches on my jk.. This should be a recall before someone gets hurt.

I was driving down the road the jeep started spitting and sputtering i pulled over to see what was going on as i go to get out it bursted into flames from under the hood then quickly spread throughout the whole jeep quickly

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4.the contact stated that the back door is defective and water enters through the sides when it rains.the dealer stated that the failure was a manufacturer defect and they could not make the repair.the powertrain was unknown.the current mileage was 23,000 and failure mileage was 400.

2007 jeep wrangler hard top leaks in rain.dealer tried to fix four times - still leaks.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph over a road bump, the vehicle began to shake violently. The shaking would cease once the contact decelerated to lower speeds. The dealer was notified of the issue, who stated that there could be numerous causes for the failure and advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for further inspection. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 73,000.

When driving on the highway at 55 mph, and hit the smallest bump the jeep shake out of control. Happened 5 times today.

I've experienced the occurrence known as the "jeep death wobble" twice now since buying this jeep last year.both happened while driving approx. 50mph on highway.

When the front passenger side tire hits a bump, gravel, or small amount of water the tire feels like it is bouncing.the vehicle is not able to be steered until the wobble/bouncing stops which is usually when the vehicle is almost stopped.

When going faster than 50 miles per hour the car shakes and wobbles and is not controllable.

When going 55mph down the road ,it begins to shake with no warning,i seen where some people call it the death wobble,in order for it to stop shaking you have to come to a complete stop, and this happens when we drive it out of town ,and we have owened this jeep since 9/14/2015 we bought it used

I purchased this vehicle used with very low mileage of 16,640 in 2011 confident that the vehicle was safe because of the car fax.there were no incidents reported.i am sure that the previous owner knew of this problem and reported it. What other reason would there be for such low mileage.when we went to the dealership only a month later to report the problem of the frightening wobble when hitting small pothole he smiled and said "oh yeah that's the (death wobble)". And then he told me that it is not covered under warranty.therefore we are stuck because we could not pass this vehicle on in good conscience to anyone and that is over a $20,000 loss to the consumer.i want to know why something that can cause this kind of accident promoting incident not to be reported to the next purchaser of that particular vehicle or repaired by the dealership before resale.our trip to and from hot springs nc on i81 s and n at speeds of 65-70 mph was a hair raising experience.surrounded by tractor trailers a certain death would have come to anyone who went into a panic.i am outraged and disappointed by my dealership and the manufacturer of the suspension in this vehicle as the safety testing had to show a problem!!!!!i'm sure they redesigned the stabilizing system in the next year of this 2007 jeep wrangler x!!! it is the front stabilizer bar and shock absorbing assembly so do not let them tell you its anything other than that!

My wrangler has been experiencing "death wobble" for the past 6 months.i felt like i was going to lose control of my car today since it was particularly bad.i was on the highway traveling 60mph when the car started shaking vigorously. I've taken this to the jeep dealership 3 times and they cannot fix it.this happens at least 3 times per week.jeep needs to issue a recall on this immediately.this is very dangerous.

While driving roughly 60-65mph on highway 5 from san diego to la the front end and steering wheel of my vehicle started to shake violently after driving over rough pavement.i decreased speed from 60-65mph to roughly 30-40 mph paying attention to traffic as i veered from the 2nd fast lane to the shoulder. The violent shaking continued as i pulled the vehicle to shoulder of the highway until i reached a speed of about 15-20mph.i took the vehicle to 2 different jeep dealerships; one in san diego and one in la.they stated they could not find anything wrong.i replaced the shocks, tires, and damper along with multiple alignments and the problem still persists.i'm so afraid to drive it that i rented a car.

As far as i can tell, i am not the only one with the "death wobble." while driving on the interstate about 65 mph, i crossed over a bridge and when my front tires got to the edge of the bridge on i-65, my jeep began shaking almost uncontrollably. The jeep death wobble has been happening to my vehicle since october 2011. I purchased thevehicle in october 2010. I am unable to take it to mechanics shop because it is 100 miles away and i am not putting my family or i at risk of an accident on an alaska highway.

I had death wobble from poorly made parts. Steering stabilizer is was to small to handle everyday driving and the ball joints are junk. 600 bucks later i figured it out since the dealership didn't want to deal with the issue and talking to mechanic friends it's a common replacement since the company uses cheap parts. Also have lots of issues with the esp, egr valve, false codes from egr and o2 sensors. And today my air bag light came on and has gone off. And every single time i get gas it's spills out all over the place and the throw out bearing whines which i was told is also junk and can fail right from purchase to over 100,000 miles. It would be very nice if chrysler would fix the cheap parts made for the jeep jk model. Just look at forums you with find thousands of people complaining about this model of jeep.

Driving 2007 jeep wrangler x model on damp day. Hitting shallow puddles with right side tires on side of the road at about 55 miles an hour. I have always done this without too much problem. Road was flat and straight without potholes. Hit puddle and vehicle began shaking violently as if a tire was about to fall off at high speed. Extreme medium frequency vibration continued until vehicle was almost at a complete stop. It was repeatable. The second time it happened was on a flat straight well paved road in downtown city street. I was going between 30 and 35 miles per hour and on a dry road and traveled over a railroad track transition (slightly elevated concrete to transition over tracks smoother) this set up another uncontrollable medium frequency vibration in the vehicle that could not be stopped unless the vehicle comes to almost a complete stop. Others on www.jk-forum.com have experienced similar situations. Dealers are blowing some of us off. It should be mentioned that i always travel with the anti-skit mitigation system off. It appears that a lateral oscillation is starting up in the front end of the jeep steering system. But that is just a guess. I reported it to my dealership and they said (oh yeah, that is the jeep death wobble). It is pretty normal, although they had never heard of it on the new body style.

2007 jeep wrangler 2dr. 4x4..approx mileage 65,000 miles. While driving a speed of 50-55 mph the vehicle encounters a bump in the road, or an uneven spot, a violent shaking begins and is uncorrectable until the vehicle is brought to a near complete stop. The dealership calls this the "death wobble". This has gone on for approximately 1 years whenever i hit a bump in the road driving anywhere from 35 mph and over. The most recent occurrence was the worst, it happened at a higher speed (approx. 65 mph) and resulted in a near collision/rollover. This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed by chysler jeep asap. This is a major safety concern and potential loss of life issue.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr4x4. While drivingapproximately 55 mph, the contact suddenly loss complete control of the steering wheel. The entire vehicle began to shake violently and uncontrollably. The contact was able to gain control and maneuvered to the side of the road. The contact resumed with caution to anauthorized dealer where they diagnosed the vehicle; and informed her that the front drivers side axle detached from the frame. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 61,000. The vin was unavailable.

I own a 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon.it has begun to experience what is known on user forums as a death wobble.when driving at 40mph + speeds, if the tires hit a fairly large bump, the entire front end shakes violently, causing the steering wheel to whip left and right.because of the shaking, shuddering and whipping of the steering wheel, loss of control becomes imminent and sudden braking is the only option left to the driver attempting to regain control of the vehicle.this has occurred several times despite repeated inspections.

1) i purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler x with 8,650 miles on the vehicle in 2008, kept the vehicle as it was, and it now has 43,000 miles. There were no events leading up to the failure other than standard safe driving practices.2) the failure is commonly referred to as "death wobble" and is well documented on various websites. The "death wobble" occurs anytime the vehicle reaches 50 mph, and will continue as the speed rises or falls.3) the problem has not been corrected in my jeep yet, it is being taken in to a private mechanic to be fixed. I have attempted to gain assistance from jeep (to include writing a letter to the president of jeep) with an appalling and insulting response.*ln

Vehicle:2007 jeep wrangler 2-door 4x4.the vehicle vibration (front end(?)) has existed since purchased in march 2007 and was reported to the dealership at first service and subsaquent services.at highway speeds the vehicle developes a vibration beginning at 60 mph through 65 mph and ending at 70 mph.the dealership has repeatedly balanced all the tires and states they are within tolerance.in june 2008 the chrysler area representative came and took the vehicle for test drives as well as other like vehicles off the lot.all tested had vibrations at approximately the same speeds.in july 2008 chrysler sent a super tech. Who also took the vehicle for a test drive as well as other new like vehicles off the lot and the problem existed in all vehicles.the conclusion by both chrysler representatives is that the vehicle vibration problem that i experance in my 2007 wrangler 2-door 4x4 is in fact inherent to this product line.i purchased this vehicle for the purpose of pulling it four wheels down behind a motorhome and at the 60-65 mph speed range, which is the best ecomomy zone for a motorhome.a problem as i described above occuring at highway speed could adversely affect the handling of the vehicle during periods of limited traction, which could potentially result in an accident endangering the lives of the occupants and others on the roadway.

Violent shake of the front end of my 2007 jeep wrangler jk rubicon. Seems to happen at highway speeds and feels like the entire vehicle is going to fall apart. This is a very dangerous problem and chrysler needs to acknowledge it and put out a fix for this before it kills someone. It is known in the jk community as "death wobble" very common and needs to be fixed.

I am the second owner of a completely stock 2007 jeep wrangler with about 56,000 miles on it.i have an intermittent problem, commonly referred to as "death wobble".this issue can occur for no apparent reason and is related to some sort of harmonic imbalance with the front axle assembly.recommended "solutions" include replacement of the steering stabilizer, checking for slop in the track bar mounting points, including the bushing on the track bar itself, bad ball joints and finally tire "cupping" or imbalance.the issue happened while de-accelerating from 70 to 55 m.p.h. And changing from the middle to right-hand lane on westbound i-94 in st. Clair shores, mi.in addition to the lane change and de-acceleration, i was also engaged in a sweeping left-hand turn prior to my exit from the freeway at exit 225.this situation is not only unacceptable but unsafe for any driver of this or any other jeep wrangler.i understand the challenges of securing a live axle to a vehicle with the suspension travel that jeep owners expect of their vehicles, but for this to occur on a smooth highway is scary.my wife was in the vehicle, and now flatly refuses to ride or drive in the vehicle, and has forbidden my children to ride in it as well.

My 2007 jeep wrangler x has experienced what some are calling "death wobble". A violent uncontrollable shaking of the front wheels while traveling at speeds above 45mph. When the wheels encounter a bump, even the slightest, in the road, the vehicle shakes violently and will not stop shaking until i come to a complete stop. This is exceedingly dangerous on the interstate and could cause serious collisions. This occurred over 40 times before i could solve the issue. After installing an aftermarket heavy duty front track bar, the wobble ceased to exist. My evaluation: the front track bar that comes standard equipped on the jk-chassis wrangler is not suitable for speeds in excess of 45mph and should be recalled and replaced with a stronger one before serious damage can occur to owners, their vehicles and passengers, and other drivers on the road.

In 208 i purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler, with 11,000 miles, after driving only 1,000. Miles my front end starting wobbling violently, returned to dealer and they stated my tires needed to be road forcedbalance, within 3 months while driving to work going about 45mph the truck front end did the know death wobble, returned to the dealer only to be told my tires were cupped, purchased new tires, seem to elevate the problem, only for it to happen several more times and two additional set of tires. I am now driving on a set of tires that is less than a year old, and having the same issues, was on the interstate last week driving about 70mph when out of nowhere my front end started to wobble out of control,i did manage to slow down enough but was shifted into another lane, could not control the steering, was lucky the interstate was not busy, this could of resulted in a major accident. I don't understand why a recall has not been issued on the suspension, the 2010-2011 jeeps have had one so obviously chrysler is aware there is a problem with the front end suspension. This will be a costly repair,so many different possible solutions but none are a guarantee, seem to me chrysler needs to step up and take responsibility for the faulty design before someone gets killed.

Deathnwobble.

Tire valve stem failures, stem mdl tr-413, original factory wheels/tires on 2007 jeep wrangler purchased in february 2007.rt front tire went flat while parked.noticed the valve stem was separating.check other tires and left front stem was also split and hissed when flexed.jeep dealership said it was not covered under warranty and said to contact tire manufacturer when my son called them.i called and left msg for dealership service manager who never returned call.took vehicle to a local tire shop and all five stems replaced. All five are mdl tr-413.vehicle owned by my son.

I've experienced the occurrence known as the "jeep death wobble" twice now since buying this jeep last year.both happened while driving approx. 50mph on highway.

2007 jeep wrangler/ less than 18 k miles:hit minor bump at approx 40 miles/ hr, front end began violent wobbling and i could not stop the wobble until i finally came to a stop. I was very fortunate that this situation did not result into an accident. This was the 1st time this happened to me, just purchased 2 months ago.nothing has been done to fix problem.did research and i am convinced that this is a manufacturer defect.i have been driving for 45 years and have never experienced anything like this; ever.

When i fill up my 2007 jeep wrangler, it pukes up gas after filling up and it has been really getting worse lately.

Vehicle stalls while in gear at speed or under acceleration.when the vehicle stalls the engine loses power and all the warning lights on the dash come on.after 2 to 3 seconds engine regains power and warning lights go off.dealer flashed the computer in march and have not had a stall since but they were very infrequent so i don't know if this fixed the problem.

Ignition sticks.cd player (6 disc changer) failed in 1st month of ownership and less than 1,000 miles.was replaced but all of my cd's are in player and may not be returned.sudden engine/electrical failure with spontaneous restart while driving approx 45 mph.

My jeep wrangler (2dr, 4x4) was in the parking lot at work. When i started it and moved the gear shift from park to drive, the vehicle suddenly accelerated violently. Within 2 seconds, i was slamming into the vehicle in front of me. By then i was jamming on the brakes again, but my car still felt like it was increasing in speed--throttle wide open! when i hit the car in front of me, my jeep pushed it about 15 feet up over a curb til it finally hit another car and stopped.its back tires were about 10 inches deep into the dirt and jammed up against another vehicle.my jeep was still going, and climbed up across his hood and over to the other side, coming to rest upright.my jeep left tire marks on the pavement as i tried to stop it.the car i hit, a 2009 volkswagen, was destroyed--totaled. Over $20,000 damage on that car alone.there was over $7000 damage to my jeep. The 3rd vehicle had damage as well. The entire incident took less than 5 seconds---this was confirmed by people who heard the sounds of the engine screaming and the crash itself.my toes and the ball of my foot hurt for a couple of days from jamming on the brake, but my jeep didn't have time to stop before it was hitting the car in front of me.the car i hit slowed me down, and probably saved me. I have some minor whiplash and had a terrible headache for several days, but otherwise no one was injured--could have been fatal if that car wasn't in front of me to stop me, because i was going so fast. Could have killed someone in parking lot.chrysler has sent an investigator over last week (an over-night trip) to look at the jeep, and he said that the throttle body had an excessive amount of "coking" (a sticky carbon/tar-like residue) in it, and that it could have stuck andcaused the sudden acceleration.i just got another call from the same chrysler investigator and he wants to see the jeep again.

When driving on the highway at 55 mph, and hit the smallest bump the jeep shake out of control. Happened 5 times today.

When going faster than 50 miles per hour the car shakes and wobbles and is not controllable.

I bought a 2007 jeep wrangler x, this vehicle is equipped with the stock steel 16" rims. These rims have a major design flaw they are made with a deep cavity and or trench behind the spokes, snow, ice etc. Settle in this cavity making it impossible to chip or remove the ice. As you drive on snowy roads the tires throw snow, ice etc.. Into this trench. While centrifugal force hold the substance in place. When this happens the wheels are out of extreme balance shaking the vehicle, the steering wheel shakes violently. I contacted jeep about this and they say there is nothing they can do, hopefully you can. This is the first year for this type of rim and hopefully the last.
