In april 2020, i was involved in a single vehicle accident, my car slid off country road, heading straight due to ice. I was going 65 (the speed limit) i hit a patch of ice and was trying to gain control of the vehicle. I slide into the on coming lane in front of a semi and in a split second turned my wheel to avoid collision and at full impact hit the ditch head on. My air bags never deployed, i in turn slammed my head onto the steering wheel from impact and i'm still suffering from constant headaches and neck pain.*dt
I was in a accident was hit on driver side and none of my airbags deployed

Interstate 5 south of cottonwood heading south boundbriefly tell us what happened?i was driving south bound in my 2017 jeep renegade. I was going to pass some morning traffic that was building in the right lane. Waiting and watching for a safe opening and looking back at the traffic in front of me as well.after 5 or 6 attempts to get over and we'll over a mile i saw an opening.i accelerated to get in and before i knew it i slammed head on into the back of a diesel tractor trailers steel duel stage bumper at almost freeway speed' 65-70 mph from sitting at about 55-62 mph waiting for an opening.i blacked out and had only half a clue what had happened' the officer on site thought i was drunk or had briefly fallen asleep because of how out of it i was.but over time the memory came back.. I passed his roadside eye exam and was taken by him to st. Elizabeth's hospital in red bluff for a chest exray as i was in the first pain i have ever been in.dr said i had broken cartledge throughout my chest and sever swelling as there was a failure in the airbag and only the steering wheel and seat belt stopped me. W/ o the air bag my lower back skipped forward in the seat as my upper chest slammed into the wheel and ripped back into the seat after. I totaled my jeep and did not get one airbag. These jeep renegades boast a plethora of 10 + airbags i didn't get one. *dt
The vehicle was on a 65 mph highway and collided with a work convoy truck.the front and both front quarter panels were involved, more damage on the passenger side.vehicle was a total loss.no airbags deployed.*dt
I got t-boned so hard i was trapped inside of my vehicle and none of the airbags ever went off.
In the event of my frontal collision, my patellar tendon on my right leg was ruptured after my knee impacted the plastic steering column cover which houses the windsheild wiper switch, igntion switch (push-to-start), and turn signal multifunction lever. My injury required surgery to repair my ruptured tendon. This trim piece did not shatter nor did it protect my knee during impact which caused my trauma and now debilitating condition. For reference i am 5'9 225lbs at the time of incident on feburary 21, 2020*lnconsumer like to add knee airbag did not deploy.*jn
At 19700 miles i was driving home (50 miles) in the middle of a busy road my engine stalled and then completely stopped in the middle of the road.causing the vehicle behind me to slam on their brakes to avoid from hitting me.i was not far from home and was able to get it to start up after putting it in park.i went less then 3 miles and the engine stalled again in the middle of a busy highway.right before it stalled the drive light flashed a few times before cutting off.i put it in park put my hazard lights on and was able to get it started again and safely parked it.took it to the dealer who had wonderful service department but i was a little upset when told it was probably a fluke.that there was nothing they could do after they could not get the vehicle to duplicate what it had previously done.i know this is probably standard but i'm sincerely concerned for my safety and what i can do if this happens again without the dealer being able to duplicate it.
The vehicle was traveling straight at approximately 55 mph on state route 31 in lakeport, ny. The power steering locked the steering wheel in place and it was immoveable.the hill assist needs service light appeared along with the traction control light.the vehicle was unable to turn and came to a stop near the shoulder after several attempts to pull the wheel.
1) vehicle does not give audible when turn signal is on2) vehicle does not give audible when safety belt is not clicked3) vehicle intermittently will not respond to accelerator pedal and will begin to slow down, no matter if pedal pressed completely to the floor. Occurred while going up a bridge while on the i-295.
This occurred after an accident, damaging the front bumper and grill of the vehicle. The day after the accident, vehicle stalls once while driving. The following day, vehicle drives as if putting in gas while in park, but is still able to drive along with stopping and going while accelerating. Now, the vehicle cannot accelerate past 15 mph, and still hold the problems previously mentioned.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that the forward collision warning sensor was defective and the adaptive cruise control did not operate when the sensor warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to sheboygan chrysler center (2701 washington ave, sheboygan, wi 53081, (920) 459-6020) where the contact was informed that they would need a special tool to align the radar camera and repair the vehicle. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer provided case number: 59686676 and referred the contact to schmit bros chrysler dodge jeep ram (905 e green bay ave, saukville, wi 53080, (262) 284-3100). The dealer also did not have the proper tool. The contact's son took the vehicle to wolfchase chrysler dodge jeep ram (8170 us-64, bartlett, tn 38133, (901) 373-3030) where he was misinformed by the manufacturer again about the dealer having the tool for the alignment. The manufacturer provided case number: 4749461. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 5,200.
Bought my jeep brand new in june 2018. Within the first month, the usb port that connects to car play would connect then disconnect when it rained. Took car to dealership and they said they couldn't identify the issue unless i brought it is when the problem happened and showed them. Which i couldn't because they were always closed when the problem occurred. Within that same month, when i pressed on the brakes it sounded like there was air in the brake line. Every so often, the satellite radio will cut out and say "acquiring signal". Car has also stalled out on me 3 times while driving. Twice beforehand, when i made a sharp right turn, the oil light would pop on for literally 2 seconds and go off. Car would stall out and when i checked the dip stick, it showed i had barely any oil. Manual says every 6000 miles. Oil runs out before the 6000 mile mark.if i knew i'd be paying out so much in oil , i wouldn't have paid so much for this stupid truck. Its a complete rip off. One of the times it stalled out, i was making a left hand turn with my children in the car. It stalled out just as i was turning and a car was coming in the opposite direction and almost hit me. There has been nothing but issue after issue with the vehicle to which the dealership would tell me theres nothing wrong with the vehicle when i took it there. Or that they cant fix it uuntil i can reenact the problem for them
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. Upon shifting the vehicle from park into reverse, the vehicle moved forward. The contact also mentioned that the fuel gauge was defective. When the fuel tank was filled, the gauge still displayed that the tank was empty. The contact took the vehicle to lawley toyota (2750 us-180, silver city, nm 88061, (575) 538-3777) where the contact was informed that the failure could occur when the computer reprogrammed itself. The failure recurred. The contact was informed that there was a technical service bulletin placed on the vehicle regarding the transmission. The manufacturer was notified and stated that someone from the chrysler care management team would contact her. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 64.
The vehicle was stationary. I was listening to music while on my break when i got a warning that the air bags needed to be serviced. Then it cycled through all the components telling me everything needed to be serviced. The radio shut off. The coolant went to high then back down to low. The fuel said it needed to be shut off. The windows would not work. The key fob would not work. I could not get the car to start or shut the lights off. I could not get the car out of gear. It was sitting in a parking lot. Then everything went dark except the parking lights. This car is only three months old. And has 1100 miles on it. I had a previous problem with it losing power while i was driving.
The 12v lighter socket gave my daughter an electrical shock when she tried to plug her charger into it and stopped working. The vehicle was on and in park when it happened.
Takata recall my car will not accelerate at times and i almost got hit today i was pressing the gas at a light turning left and my car wouldn't accelerate and my passenger freaked out thinking we were going to get hit, the gas pedal went down and then my car kinda of jumped and finally accelerated but it's delayed very often especially on the highway it takes time to accelerate and i press the gas slowly. Also i have terrible gas mileage and feel like it drains out quickly.
The engine suddenly shut-off while operating.the engine would not restart.there is a potential risk of causing an serious accident on the road.on the dashboard the key symbol light is on.on tuesday of this week when called chrysler's customer service and was informed that symbol is error is for the passive entry system.this error message prevent the engine from restart. The vehicle was towed to the nearest jeep chrysler dealership.now, 2 days later there is no recall on the passive entry system and now the vehicle needs over $1600 worth of service repairs.they never address why the key symbol is on the car.appears that their an an issue with this and a recall is in order.also, it may be the recall from 2018 # u87 with the circuit board and electrical.
The uconnect/sirius xm system turns off while driving. It's dangerous if i am using navigation. Xm says a favorite is on but nothing is brought on screen. The unit completely freezes. It has stayed on even when car is off and locked. Back up sensor is not audible. It is at dealership. I purchased new and had this issue from the beginning. Dealer is unable to replicate.
I bought my jeep in 2018, 3 months after having it, i had to replace the front passenger bulb and it worked fine. Now, a year later same problemand i took it to the dealership and they told me the bulb was fine and moved some wires and it was fine. Now it is still not working
The backup camera screen was stuck on the viewing screen on the dash. I shifted the car in park and was driving and it was just a frozen view from the rear camera. I could not operate the radio or any other equipment. I pulled into a parking space a few minutes later and shut the car off. I restarted the car a few minutes later and the screen was black, i could not operate the radio or any other equipment controlled by the panel. I called the dealer who said i should bring it in the next day. I took it home and parked it. A few hours later i started it and everything was back to normal. I was told no problems were found.
Engine stall when oil is low and power steering went out without a warn. There is no oil low warn or engine warn. None of the light come on for oil change or oil pressure. It almost cause me wreck the jeep cuz no control when it shut down. Took to the dealership to found out there is no oil in engine which faithful change oil at dealership. No dash warn, i almost rear end cuz it sudden shut down.when i turn the sharp i can feel beep beep going off.
Two issues one. The electrical malfunctions and change his settings randomly. To. Oilconsumption is hazardous repeatedlyconsuming a quart of oil in just 200 miles. Various mechanics have stated this is a common problem in 2018 jeep renegade and requires manufacturer repair.
Internal driver side door handle spontaneously stopped working after i arrived home from work. Vehicle was parked in my parking spot, engine just turned off. Looked up past recalls, and 2015 model had similar issue with recall initiated.
Purchased vehicle in march, went to have first oil change done and there was a problem with the oil consumption. The dealership had me come in every 1000 miles and after the 3rd time the dealership said the problem wasn't getting better and they would need to replace my engine. So at 3000 miles i had to get my engine replacement. The day i picked my vehicle up from the service shop while driving doing 40 mph the car seized up on me and i had to make my way to safety and restart the vehicle. I informed my case manager and was told if it happened again take it into the shop. Month later on my way home with the kids in the jeep doing 50 mph the vehicle seized up again and i had to pull off to safety and restart the vehicle. I took the jeep in to the dealership that same day. 4 days later the dealership said they fixed it and i could come pick it. On sunday, july 21st i was heading out of town on the highway doing 70 mph and the vehicle seized up on me. Went from 70 mph to 44 mph which almost caused an accident. There was 7 lanes of traffic and construction going on which made it hard to get off to the side. After that it took me 15 minutes to get back on the hwy and work my way across 7 lines of traffic. Once i made it to the right lane i heard a thump and my vehicle would not excel faster than 30 mph. I finally made it off the hwy and while sitting at the light the vehicle seized up again and i had to restart it 3 times to make it through the light.
While going down the highway, the jeep shut down/locked up. The engine was still running, but wouldn't let me turn it off or run anything electrical. Every service light possible came on. In order to get it to turn off, we had to turn off the computer. After that, it had no power whatsoever. The key light was showing.luckily, i was able to pull over before getting hit. I had both of my kids in the car. I've seen where other people have had this happen. Why has it not been recalled. We're still waiting to find out what the issue is but the mechanic shop is behind due to workers being out with covid.
It started four(4) months after i got the car brand new. I was driving home from work, i decided to take the back roads, i could not use my brakes. I took the car in to the dealership and the ecu had to be changed. A few months later my radio was recalled and that had to be changed. I've had a probably four(4) month battle with the day time running lights going off then coming back on out of nowhere. The first time the dtr went out the lightbulb was changed and the metal on the base of the lightbulb was melted off.( i do not have pictures of it the dealership took it when i showed them)i took it back to the dealership after the second time the light kept going on and off. They checked the vehicle and said the resistance was too high and they didn't know why. Therefore i had to wait on parts to change the wiring and sockets for the dtrs. It is a 2018 jeep renegade and i'm very tired of having to take my, not even, two(2) year old car to the dealership to get something electrical fixed every few months.i'm not sure of the date it all started so i approximated.
Bought my car brand new, after one month it started shutting off randomly. While driving on the highway the engine shut off completely. "shift gear to p appeared on my dash". I had to turn on and off multiple times before it would turn on again and occur over and over again. Got the car towed to the dealership who told me it was completely normal and that i should be checking my oil every time i get gas.said all i needed was an oil change.did not have any concern for the dangerous occurrence i wasin on the highway.
Every so miles the electronic braking system comes on while driving and tells me to service brakes now. This started when the car only had 100 miles on it and continues to at 4500 miles. Talked to dealer ship and they will do nothing about it.
I bought the vehicle 3/6/2020 from the i-10 dodge dealership in indio, ca. The car appeared to be working perfectly: no funny smells or noises, good acceleration and brakes, no warning lights on dash console or anything like that.last saturday (5/2/2020) i drove it to my friend's mobile home. I parked in the carport and turned the engine off. I went into the home and looked out the window about two minutes later. Smoke was pouring out of the engine compartment. I looked in vain for a hose or fire extinguisher, then called 911. At this point flames were shooting up from the engine, setting the carport and the side of the mobile home on fire. The fire department arrived and put out the fire. The vehicle was destroyed in the eight minutes from when i called 911 to when the firefighters put out the fire.
The radio and the gps freezes up. Will not cut off even when you cut the car off and open the doors. Will not cut off at all. Reported it and the kept the car at the shop for a month and a half and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it and it never done it when the tested it. The back door would unlock and pop open by itself while going down the road.
The renegade touch screen radio that is used for all controls including seat warmers, climate control, rear back up camera, gps ect has had many cases of the factory issued radio screens delaminating causing it to make sos emergency calls and switching through different touch screen controls due to the delamination of the radio screen at no fault of our own ā€¦ tolers jeep in morehead city nc has confirmed they have had to replace many radios due to this issue but hasnā€™t issued any recall for this safety issue on this modelā€¦ i have now had to resort to keeping the radio turned off to avoid unwanted sos calls to the local police department and malfunction of the touch screen controls
Purchased vehicle new from dealer stock in patchogue, ny, with trailhawk trim.had it a little over a month, and have less than 1000 miles on it.within the 1st week the windshield cracked and dealer refused to replace it even though it had a wave in it at eye level. Have seen other complaints about this online.at same time, we noticed a problem with climate control and dealer couldn't get us in to look at it for about a month. What happens is after the car is shut off and temp is left at say 72 in all zones, often when you restart the vehicle later or the next day it is no longer set to 72 and may be blasting superhot air at 90 or jump to low ac or anything in between. Its a completely random temperature having nothing to do with outside air temp. Also, doesn't happen with every restart. This car has the auto climate control feature too, but the issue happens whether we leave it on auto or manual. We also checked to make sure no one was knocking into the control with legs or handbags etc. Dealer service manager says this is "just how jeep manufactured it", and "the jeep engineers deliberately want the temperature to be random because its not a priority". This is my third chrysler/dodge/jeep vehicle, and the problem has not happened in either of the other two, so that it sounds to me like just a dealer being lazy and not wanting to fix the problem. I also called jeep customer care and got little help so far.however, it is clear to me no engineer would ever design a car to be so deliberately inconvenient and potentially dangerous where you have to spend the first few moments in your car fiddling with digital temperature controls. Ever car i have ever driven stores your last temperature and resumes that temperature when you return.did i mention we are extremely dissatisfied with this vehicle as a result and have already told many friends to avoid jeep. Terrible.
2.4 engine would cause stall not safety shut down without a warn that the oil is low. There is no warn on oil being low which lead to stall and shut down while driving that can cause wreck. The engine shut down without warn to discover need replace engine due no oileven i had the oil regular faithful change all time at the same dealership.*dt
Every few weeks the system switches to metric and then have to reset back to american standard. It also changes the heater and air conditioning settings to come on at maxed out temp and the highest setting on the blower. Already had it in to the dealer once and there fixed worked for a week or two then right back to the problems. This happens when you first start the vehicle.
While accelerating the vehicle staled. I was scary i bought my jeep and it only has 8000 miles on it.i put the car in park then drive it did not move. I pushed off the road. Turned the engine off then restarted it, and it drove fine.i am still nervous driving my renegade, it may happen again.
The contact owned a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, she smelled a burning odor and noticed dark smoke coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that as she opened the driverā€™s side door to exit the vehicle, the engine exploded, and the hood opened and caught on fire. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with assistance. The contact sustained an injury to the ankle but did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,400.

The contact stated that the failure continued to occur sporadically while driving. The contact's daughter discovered that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 18v524000 (electrical system) and 18v731000 (fuel system). The contact also received recall notices for these recalls. The vehicle was driven to stallings chrysler dodge jeep (101 commerce park dr, thomasville, ga 31757, 229-228-9100) for the recall repairs. A few weeks after i first bought my new car (june 2018) after starting it, the radio would sometimes not come on or the volume control knob would not work. Then recently several months ago (april 2020) the 12v cigarette lighter in my car stopped working (car in park, just started). Turned car off, and then it would not start again. It seemed like all power was lost to the car. No lights would come on inside either. It just wouldn't do anything at all when trying to start it. The 15 fuse was replaced in the dash box, and it then started fine again. That lasted for a couple months. Then a few weeks ago now (8/8/20) my car wouldn't start in the driveway. Again, no power to it, no lights or anything. The same fuse was blown, so it was replaced again. My car still wouldn't start. I jumped it off with jumper cables, it started fine. I was driving for less than 20 minutes (8/12/20), someone motioned me to pull over because they smelled my car battery. Looked under the hood, and my battery was leaking. I then had to drive my car another 5-10 minutes to get it home. Made it home, and the car wouldn't start again. I had the battery replaced with a brand new one (8/17/20), and my car started fine again. As i mentioned, that was 2 weeks ago. Now today (9/2/20), i started my car, drove for about 5 minutes, then it just quit accelerating and wouldn't go over 20mph. I pulled over, the check engine light came on for the first time, turned the car off, and again it now won't start back up at all. The interior lights do still come on, but when i hit 'lock' on my key fob, the headlights and taillights flash weirdly on and off many times in a row. I bought this car brand new and have only had constant electrical and starting problems since the beginning.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. While driving 60 mph, there was a loud noise coming from the engine. The vehicle pulled from front to back and then stalled. Also, the check engine and transmission warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was powered off while in traffic. Once restated, the vehicle was able to be driven; however, the failure recurred a few miles down the road. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road and towed to dick poe chrysler jeep (located at 6501 montana ave, el paso, tx 79925, (915) 778-9331). The dealer performed a diagnostic test, but a failure code could not be found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 2,700.
Radio / entertainment center does not power on with automobile - intermittently. After 2-3 minutes of driving the unit powers on. While it is off, all physical controls in the center console (volume, temperature adjustment, etc.) are non-responsive.
Started vehicle (after it sat all night) and all units were displayed in metric. Checked settings and us units were still selected. Had to select metric units, exit menu, enter menu and reselect us units. This has happened multiple times since 2018. Sometimes it happens after sitting all night, sometimes it happens while driving the vehicle. Dealership is aware, but cannot diagnose or fix problem. Last date of occurrence will be used.
Radio screen turns on off freezing doesn't connect and switched into kilometers (still waiting for replacement)codes.popping up nothing was fixed by dealership just cleared codes.engine when driving seems like it has hard time picking up and.shifting into next gear making a jerking motion happening at random times dealershipupdated pcm and tcm still does it.blows threw oil fast dealership says its normal for a 2018 jeep renegade makes a ticking sound seems like fan comes on alot more.would randomly smell burning of plastic addressedwith dealership(no fix)
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that the oil in the vehicle only lasted 200 miles. While driving, the vehicle shook, lost electrical power, and stalled. The contact powered off the engine and restarted the vehicle. When the vehicle was restarted, a grinding noise occurred. In addition, the instrument panel indicated to "step on brake, press the start button". The contact did as instructed and the vehicle was able to drive normally; however, the failure recurred numerous times. Furthermore, when the vehicle was turned off, the radio remained on intermittently. The vehicle was taken to motor world chrysler dodge jeep ram (150 motorworld dr, wilkes-barre, pa 18702, (888) 459-2493) and was informed that an oil change and oil consumption test were needed. The oil was changed. The dealer could not locate a failure with the radio. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided case number: 71429369. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
While driving my jeep renegade has ahesitation when i take off it started doing this this weeki bought this car this year with 72 miles already having to replace the breaks which of course should last me at leae a year
I was driving down the road and my car started stalling and just cut off each time i time to start it and hit the gas the car keep stalling and i was almost hit from behind my car would not move, i sat for 10 mins then i was able to move it out of traffic. Finally i got it started back up drove it maybe 15/20 mins down the road it did the same thing in the middle of traffic causing me to almost be hit from behind. I did the same steps as i did before so i was able to get to a parking lot and i had to have it towed to hendrick in concord they were out of cars he suggested that i could come get my car because they couldn't find anything wrong, i told him why would i drive a car that keeps cutting off that's a danger to me and other people on the road. Next day i had my car towed again to keffer in charlotte because the guy told me they would put me in a car and i explained to him that i can no rent from enterprise i spent $27 on lyft to get there and they didn't have cars i sat there for about 5 hrs and still ended up going home with no vehicle i had to miss a day of work and then i am going to miss another day because they have my vehicle and did not put me in a vehicle and did not want to own up to the fact that there employee gave me false information it seemed like everyone i spoke to blew me off and didn't care. I purchased the vehicle from them for about $24,000. I feed hearing something in my air for months and kept taking the car back and they kept saying they fixed it and i kept hearing and i also notified them about my car not picking up speed and because they couldn't find any codes they couldn't figure it out. I had have almost gotten hit from behind 3 times because my call was not picking up speed when i would switch lanes i could be going 70 on 485 and my car felt like it was going 20 and dealership refused to press the issue. The engine is the problem.
My jeep keep stopping while driving i put vin # to see recall it's says no recalls but very dangerous to drive took it to dealer 2 times they says they can't find nothing wrong very stressful happen 3 times already 2018 keep renagade, please help before anyone get kill this is app unsafe
The infotainment system is malfunctioning.it controls almost all functions in the car.while driving every setting it controls will randomly and suddenly switch to a different setting.you can not over ride it's random switching, even by turning it off.the dealer service manager has said the car is undriveable.if you did try to drive a large number of mechanical and electrical and software settings are switching as you drive.image driving down here in 95/95 florida (temperature and humidity) while the car is turning on the heat full blast and the seat heater full blast, resetting waypoints, and instructing the driver to turn somewhere and watch out for a upcoming collision.the only fix is to replace the infotainment system and there are no parts available for an estimated 3 month.this happens when the vehicle is stationary or moving on city streets and on the highway.i have spoken a dozen times to fca customer care, case 76973156.the keep switching case managers.right now there is nobody assigned.the car has only about 5000 miles on it.i have not included an attached file because it looks like you can not accept a video.apparently this is a common problem (as service guy says) and therefore there is a shortage of parts.service manager said that this system affects almost all functions in the car to the point that often when there is a failure the car has to be towed in.
I have had car about two monthsand it keeps stalling on meand i got almost into an accident because it stalled on a busy street and traffic was coming . Jim click chrysler into sun arizona they say it's the fuel pump but other things are going on with the car to like the radio and it keeps turning off and the screen for the back up camera turns off on its own so i think there's more going on that car and i'm disappointed in jeep for making a car that could cause an accident i have to think of the safety of my kids
Since 21000 miles (first instence) we have had issues with the car shutting off , and losing all power to the gas and break, almost causing a wreck. I was turning left and the engine sputrered, then as the wheel straightened up it completely lousy all gas, and break function as if it was not idling.about every 3-4 weeks after it would stall, but not lose complete control. We started to notice it was using excessive amounts of oil, after acknowledging first couple issues.we are currently having it looked at, as the electrical components would not allow us to start the engine at all, we are currently at 30,000 miles. Car is 1.5 years old , problems arose 5 months ago.
Touch screen and every thing on dash stopped working.
While letting off the gas to slow down to either a stop or around a curve; the car idles all the way down and dies, the dashboard flashes a message saying 'vehicle must be in park to switch gears'. When i place the vehicle in park it then tells me to push the brake and the start button; when i do the car 'whines' and acts like it's having a hard time starting back up; when it does finally turn over it idles high until i put the car in gear making it jump.
Windshield wiper fluid leaking and is now leaking throughout the car.. It is leaking around the electrical wires in the front drivers side of the car under the carpet. Audio light on in car and also a lot of electrical problems on drivers side door
I purchased a 2018 renegade about 3 weeks ago. Within a week of that problo began with remote starter that had been added prior to purchase that would unlock all the doors whenever vehicle was started using remote starter. I was extremely frustrated as that vehicle had issues from day one anddealer couldn't fix them. No offer from dealership to allow me to return it. So out of frustration i traded it in for a much higher cost vehicle in hopes the issues would be gone with a brand new vehicle of a higher price and package. Not so! from the first day about 2 weeks ago i started experiencing serious problems. Everytime i use the remote starter the vehicle shuts off whether i touch the door handle, unlock vehicle with remote, open door or enter vehicle if the first three methods didn't shut it down. In addition the uconnect 4 w/7" display started locking a week ago and would not let me turn it off, change temperature inside vehicle, even locked out the manual controls of heater/ac temps, fan could not be changed, radio stopped playing. No matter what i tried nothing worked. I had to pull over and shut vehicle off and restart. Within a mile down the road it locked up again and this time same problems with non repsonsive controls as well asthe video display began flickering in lower left hand of screen. I waited till i got to my destination and shut vehicle off. When i came out to leave it was somewhat working again. Prior to this issue with uconnect the vehicle had been to dealership twice. First time they claimed they could not replicate 2nd time i was told the remote starter was a known issue since 4/2018 with no known remedy and the radio uconnect system was defective and a new radio was ordered but was backordered with no known date of availability.so i have a very expensive vehicle with just over 1,000 miles with serious and potentially dangerous issues with it.

2018 jeep renegade that is only 8 months old was parked along a street in blacksburg, va at night.the car had been parked for at least 1 hour, maybe a bit longer. It caught fire on 11/9/18 while our son was inside his friend's apartment.someone noticed it and alerted him.the smoke from the fire was black and had the smell of an electrical fire.car was towed to a dealer in christiansburg, va where it is now.the dealer is saying the fire probably started from leaves in the undercarriage in the are where the manifold meets the exhaust then traveled to the underhood area.they are refusing a warranty or safety repair. *dt *dt
I purchased my 2018 jeep renegade may 29, 2018 at the dodge, thompson, chryslerdealership in baltimore, md 21224. On december 9,2018 in the early morning my vehicle caught fire. Luckily me and my two young sons were not in the vehicle when the fire ignited. The fire ended up smoldering from lack of oxygen because my windows and doors were shut an locked. I contacted the chrysler manufacture and an investigation is being done. The fireman that came said it looks like an electrical fire due to faulty wiring.
Ecelarating to proceed onto a busy street and car stalled almost causing an accident. The engine light came on. I put it in park and stepped on the break. It took two tries to restart.*dtconsumer stated took it to the dealership. They said it was very low on oil. There was no charge. They topped off the oil. I don'tknow why there was no indicator light that showed low oil. The engine light came on when it stalled. It went off when i started the car back up. It did not come on again.
I purchased this vehicle march 2020 and was told that it was new ("a left over").we thought it was used as a demo by sales.as soon as i got it the brakes started to grind.the salesperson told us after signing all paperwork that sometimes the emergency light comes on while driving.there is something with the rotors and ig burton in symnra, delaware advised without proper repair it was safe to drive several times.now without touching any controls the miles changed to km and the heating system changed as well. When traveling down the road we noted the brakes and with the mileage i saw it as soon as i started it up.

So i've had my 2018 jeep renegade for about approximately 9 months and about 2 months ago my radio started turning off and on by itself and this happens when driving and sometimes right when i turn the car on. And at the same time the windshield wipers sprayer that clean the windows stoped working and the bottle of windshield wiper fluid is filled and there's no rust or erosion on the hole where it sprays from.
The electrical system will randomly stop working.the back up camera, will not function, car radio will not turn off/on, heat and air resets while driving, and most recently the vehicle was unable to be turned off.

The vehicle was taken to countryside chrysler dodge jeep ram (846 e 3rd st, jackson, ga 30233 (770) 504-6194) where the contact was not made aware of the repairs. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was taken to the same dealer five times for the same failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.
I was on my way to work, driving about 30 mph, and all of a sudden, some "d" light came on, & then all the lightd came on & then i recieved a message that i need to switch my gears & my tire locked up & my car just shut down.i was not able to turn my car back on. After several attempts to push my start button, after finally getting it to turn back on it stalled out again. I was able to get it to turn on again then i made it home. I started reading blogs & it said to check your oil. I checked it and it was completely empty. I changed my oil last month and barely have driven it. I have a 2018 renegade with 24k miles on it. If my car did this when i jumped on the highway would of caused a major car accident. No reason why all my oil should be gone

Not running right.
Vehicle stalled while pulling out into traffic, another time it didn't start after a few tries vehicle started. Stalled a second and third time but i noticed the oil indicator light came on for a tenth of a second then went out. Returned home and checked the oil level. (vehicle was just in for a 1000 mile courtesy check by the dealer vehicle had 2660 miles on odometer) service manager said everything is ok and we left. Odometer has 2975 miles when this shutting off occurred. When dip stick was read it was reading the very tip of the stick. I added 3 qts. Of manufactures recommended oil and took the vehicle to the dealer to read the codes and ask why i was out of oil with no oil indicator light on. Safety concern is this engine per the service manager is programmed to shut off in the event of a low oil pressure. The issue i have is that you do not get any warning that you have low oil pressure until the engine shuts off and then you really don't know why.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated while driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact parked the vehicle and later had the vehicle towed to bokan chrysler dodge jeep ram (2 franklin park w #2, st albans city, vt 05478) where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective clutch kit, flywheel, exhaust manifold stud, wheel bearing, and gasket. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 47,052.
I can be driving and the engine will just cut out. Will start again but stops every few minutes. This happened also when i purchased it in october 2018. The dealership had it for two weeks and said there was nothing wrong with it. It finally just stopped stalling on it's own but now it has returned!
Incident 1 2/11/20 5pm i had left my office after work and was pulling into a turn lane at an intersection on a city street; car stalled in drive. I put it into park, put my foot on the brake and pushed the start button; and it started. No issues on the 20 miles home.incident 2 2/13/20 7ami had just left my house and had turned left to exit my neighborhood when the card stalled in drive. I put it park and pushed the start button, nothing happened. I took my foot off of the brake and then reapplied my foot to the brake and pushed the button. Sounded like the card was trying to start. Waited a few more seconds and tried it again, it started. No issues on the 20 miles to work.
My car starting displaying that the oil pressure was low, and is not been the first oil change, i had 4353 miles on it, and when i check the oil there was none, had to put in 5 quarts of oil to top it, took it to the dealer and they put in the scanner(it doesnt work) and they said that nothing was wrong, they told me to bring the vehicle in 1000 miles exactly after they changed the oil, 650 miles after and the light of the oil when on again
While driving the car, lost all power. Pulled over to the side of the road and the engine was no longer running. The d for drive was flashingon the dash and a message popped up saying to put the car in park to start engine. This happened at least 7 times and it's a brand new car with just 1300 miles on it. *dtupdated 11/30/18
While driving down the road my jeep stalled and shut off on several different occasions. I called the dealership and was told the oil was probably low and to bring it in. Sure enough it was not registering on the dipstick. I got my oil changed and less than 2 months later the jeep stalled out again. I checked the oil and there was none. I called the dealship and i have an appointment today to start an oil consumption test. I drove less than 4,000 miles between oil changes before i broke down again. The jeep gives no warning or light indication when this happens. I am thankful i was not driving on the highway causing a serious accident. The jeep is burning through some serious oil.
My 2018 jeep renegade engine dies spontaneously.check engine light does not come on.it starts back up right away but when placed in gear it dies.the dealership will look at it for a 4th time tomorrow morning 08/14/2019 at 9am.so far the problem has not been resolved.there is a recall list for certain vin number jeep renegade models but my vin isn't on the list.engine shouldn't die or stall on a brand new vehicle with less than 20,000 miles.first time it dies was 5,031 miles, then 13,541 miles, then 19063 miles.
The car will stall without any indication that the oil is low. Loss of power also accrues. I almost got hit by a car for losing power. The dealership says its normal for the car to use oil. But never told me when i bought the car i need to check it. This is a huge safety concern.
Burning oil stalled while driving vehicle could of been hit
I was driving to work on a rural area road, going downhill and was preceding to turn right. I receive a warning that i had low oil pressure and the vehicle stalled. I read others have experienced the vehicle to shutdown completely , but this did not happen to me this time. When you check the oil it is in fact low. The engines oil consumption is ridiculous. Your engine may consume over three quarters of the required oil between oil changes. Mine was barely touching the dip stick and the vehicle holds 5.5 quarts of oil. The dealership is not helpful as they say it is a common occurrence with the engine and they will just document it if i have trouble later on. This is something that should not be happening to any new vehicle and it's not common for a vehicle to use three quarters of the required oil within an oil change. My vehicle only has 5,249 miles on it and the first oil change. As a consumer we should not be expected to keep check of the oil consumption on a vehicle that is brand new.
Twice in the last week, my 2018 jeep renegade with around 17,500 miles has stalled after moderately hard braking. In both cases the vehicle had a difficult time restarting. In the last case, the stalling occurred during busy rush hour city traffic and we sat for about minute with traffic passing us while we attempted to restart the vehicle. My girlfriend, a new driver, was driving during this instance and i am concerned for our safety now. *dt
6 times in the past week, our vehicle has started sputtering and stalling out while driving on the highway. Our gas was around half full and we were not going up or down any hills. The mph range was 60-90mph that this was happening and after driving for a couple of hours. We were not able to restart the vehicle for at least 10 minutes and sometimes it took over 45 minutes before we could start the vehicle again. We have taken it to the dealership 3 times, each time telling us that there is nothing wrong. We have contacted fca group about the issue and said that we don't have any recalls and say that there is nothing that can be done. They have also suggested that we just seek out legal counsel. There is only 19k miles on the car and it was purchased brand new april of 2019.
My engine has less then 10,000 miles and the jeep is burning 1 1/2 to 2 qts of oil in the first two oil changes. This puts the driver at risk of engine running out of oil on the road. This could cause traffic problems and get people hurt.
Excessive oil consumption. Oil changed 8/7/2020, low oil light on 9/4/2020. Oil changed again 9/5/2020 short 4 quarts 10/25/2020. Jeep stalled. No warnings. Battery fine, has gas.
I have stalled about 6 times while in motion on city street. Usually shortly after leaving. At 3,500 miles, turned the corner, stalled again. Not a drop of oil in it with no leaking, no smoke, no check oil or engine lights. Dealer said this is "normal". Has stalled since while in motion, with enough oil in the engine.
I purchased my 2018 jeep renegade in feb of 2019. I had under 5k miles on it and took it on my first road trip. I made it to colorado and the vehicle stalled while driving at least 12 times. There were no warning lights or anything. I had the vehicle taken to 4 different dealerships and no codes or issues were found. I dealt with fca which was a nightmare, and all they offered was a free warranty. I let them know i dont feel safe in my vehicle multiple times. I then took my vehicle on the first road trip this weekend to lubbock and once again it stalled out 4 times while driving 75 mph. I dropped it off at the dealership yesterday and no issues were found again. There is a safety recall on this vehicle for the exact same issues yet my vin doesn't fit the recall list. This is unacceptable and i want it fixed immediately. I could die from this vehicle stalling while driving at high speeds. Please get someone to help me.
Car stalled in traffic with no prior warnings. The car would not start back up.
Vehicle stops abruptly. Having to add oil, no evidence off oil leaks
It is using an enormous amount of oil. When it gets too low, it shuts off. I have been in the middle of a turn or in an intersection when this happens. It had a recall/fix by the manufacturer but it did it again. Back in the shop. I had to put over 4 quarts of oil in it.
Purchased new on 23 feb 2019. I checked the oil level at 500 miles and it was a half quart low. I asked the service department by email about this and the response was oil is serviced at 3000 miles. I again asked if i need to bring it in to be topped off. I have not received a response. When it gets to a quart low i will go to the service department. Should not be using this much oil.
The transmission randomly started having problems one day. The car will randomly start losing speed and gradually slows down till it won't move anymore. Or sometimes it keeps going but it feels like it's being forced to keep moving. This happens randomly with no warning at all. The message on the dashboard says service transmission or service engine which i've done but the problem started again soon after. Feels very unsafe to have the car on the road and yet it's my only means of transportation. I've taken the car to a dealership and had it looked at. Was told the problem had something to do with a code and that the problem should be gone now but as i mentioned it returned not long after.
Or that they cant fix it uuntil i can reenact the problem for them
Cars loses power while driving, oil pressure and fuel pressure lights com on when stopped in park. Excessive oil consumption, seat belt sensor malfunction , this has happened 4 times, dealership wont return calls to schedule service either. Last occurrence was 8/21/2020 @ 33,150 miles
Twice now car has just stalled/shut off without warning.engine light at that time suddenly shows "low engine oil pressure".taken to dealer twice and oil level low-->oil change done and problem resolved for ~ 3k miles.first time happened around 4-5k miles after oil change, 2nd time happened around 4k after oil change.oil consumption test at 1k after last oil change shows engine is burning at least 1/2 quart of oil.dealership states jeep is stating this is within normal and that i should get oil changed/topped off every 3k miles.this is dangerous and unacceptable that oil consumption is so high that my engine randomly stalls because of low engine oil.
Was driving my car started to sputter and it is stalling out when i come to a stop. Also shaking and making noise when i drive it.
Car frequently states "oil pressure low" despite constant oil changes. Car idles when turning a corner and completely shuts off. Dashboard flashes messages that "vehicle must be in park", steering wheel locks up and tells me to "push the brake and start button"... I had to do this three times. Very dangerous!car shut off in 5 p.m. Orlando traffic! has happened three times in two months.
Vehicle stalled on a hill without warning. Towed to dealership and was told it had 1 quart of oil at 979 miles. At 700 miles when checked it was in normal range
Upon slowing for stop sign or turn, car stalls and dies."d" starts blinking and get message that must be stopped to shift.get stopped, shift into park and try to start car.takes several tries to get started.car has 6500 miles and has happened at least 7 times.took to dealer, was told that there are no codes and they can't find problem.have another appointment with dealer this week.latest instance of issue was 2/29/20.
Jeep renegade 2018, at 12 thousand plus miles, just started using oil. I brought this jeep brand new, took it in for the regular scheduled oil changes, then all of sudden the oil pressure light came on the jeep just shut off. I waited a second or so and it started back up. I went back home my husband checked the oil and it was empty. We add a 4 plus quarts of the correct oil. I called the dealership, for an appointment. It took 4 plus days to get an appointment. Before my appointment theoil light came on again. We check the oil and again it barely got any in it. We add just enough to get to the appointment. Now they say i have to drive it 1000 miles for a compression test.they know it's the motor!. I don't understand why i have to be put at risk of breaking down to prove there is something wrong. With all the technology the new cars have why can't they see the issue's on the computer?
Car is burning excessive engine motor oil.car has stalled several times while driving in congested traffic due directly to low oil.this is a safety concern as well as a defective engine by manufacturer.problem is pervasive across all jeep renegade vehicles.local dealer is aware of oil issues with engine. Need government intervention to force manufacturer to issue a recall on this know issue.
Every time i get a oil change i have to replace the oil by the courts in between changes as well the oil pressure light comes on when i make turns or it may stall
First, speaker keeps going in and out then 12v port was dead.screen shot off a few times.hands free access stopped working a few times.now for the 3rd time (3 different stall outs),the car is shutting off on its own while driving.this last time,it acted like it was in another shift other than drive and when i put it in park it ran rough then just died.came back on like nothing happened after shutting off and restarting.
A couple of times my jeep renegade 2018 stalled when i was driving, said something about low oil pressure when i already did an oil change, also said on the dash that the gear shift wasn't working and slow down and stop, i couldn't imagine if i was on the highway that would've been a bad accident. I safely parked, turned off the vehicle and started back up. Took it last year to the dealership they said that was a safety thing and this year october 30th 2020, i took it to check why it kept saying low oil pressure when the oil is new and i wanted to know if was leaking.they said wasn't leaking, that it was burning oil. That shouldn't be happening that the oil is new and less than a month it says low oil pressure.
My jeep has stalled out while i'm in drive three times within the last 24 hours. Oil is fresh and has full tank of gas.
Two issues one. The electrical malfunctions and change his settings randomly. To. Oilconsumption is hazardous repeatedlyconsuming a quart of oil in just 200 miles. Various mechanics have stated this is a common problem in 2018 jeep renegade and requires manufacturer repair.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the miracle chrysler dodge jeep dealer (615-206-4869, located at 1290 nashville pike, gallatin, tn 37066) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was almost out of oil. The vehicle was kept at the dealer's for about a week and no other failure was diagnosed. The technician performed an oil consumption test. The contact was concerned that the issue was not resolved. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
Car only has 4000 miles ( still like new). Once incident i had was trying to make a turn i slowed down then when attempting to accelerate the car wouldnt go . I had to pull over and completely turn off the vehicle.has happen 3 times in less than one week.ive made several attempts to contact dealer and service dept, but no call backs.
While driving, my jeep renegade will just turn off. I have to pull off to the side of the road and put the car in park and try to restart the car a couple of times. This will cause a major accident to someone someday. It just shuts off without warning. It's a 2018 jeep renegade with 5k miles!why would it just shut off?i was driving both times this happened to me. Once last week and once today 12/26/2018. The lights blink saying engine system/maintenance and low oil pressure. I have read online this is a problem with jeep renegades, but jeep won't do anything about it. How does this get fixed?someone could get killed.
Eninge between 2 oil changes has used 9 quarts of oil, has a high consumption of oil. Has 9300 miles, this second time i've noticed the engine completely out of oil was 4000 miles after oil change.
The jeep sometimes stalls when coming to a stop. It'll say that the car needs to be placed in park, you attempt to start it, the jeep struggles to start. Eventually it will start.the jeep also makes a hard jolt sometimes in higher speeds. It has been noticed to do this when the jeep is accelerating to cruising speed. Sometimes it is noticed when de accelerating.
My renegade first gave me 'issues' before the first oil change due date.just 2 months after purchasing the vehicle brand new, it shut down while driving back from my beach vacation.i was driving 70 mph on interstate 65 and it just completely shut off.i had to coast from the flow of traffic onto the side of the interstate.my 8 year old son was also with me during this first of several dangerous encounters.it took me about 6 or 7 attempts at restarting my car and getting back in traffic before i finally made it safely home that day.each of those attempts first resulted in the car shutting off and me coasting to the side of the interstate to avoid an accident.every time my car is close to an oil change, within about300-500 miles, it experiences the above scenario.it has taken several months to finally find the pattern and realize the problem. The problem is that the engine is burning an excessive amount of oil, running the car low on oil, and then the safety feature shuts off the car completely.this happens without any type of warning; no lights or any type of signal. This summer, i had to complete an oil consumption test on my vehicle.this consisted of me driving to the dealership every 1,000 miles for them to check my oil, chart how much it used, and fill it back up with oil. The distance from my house to the dealership is 35 miles; quickest route being a 46 minute drive. I had to repeat this process 5 total times.at the end of the 5,000 miles i was told by my service technician (allan) that i missed the cut off for receiving a new engine by aboutquart of oil. He also expressed that his personal opinion may be different, but that the standard/guidelines was what he had to go by for diagnosing the results.
The car dies while driving it. If you stop at a light, it dies. Then again after you restart and move up a few car lengths. Once it died while actually in motion!! apparently, the oil pressure gets low b/c the engine(2.4) uses all of the oil within or less than 2 months time after an oil change. There is a recall on this 2.4 engine, as of 12/10/20 i am told by the dealership, but only on renegades that have all wheel drive and not front wheel drive such as mine. Not sure what the transmission has to do with a badly designed motor(a rep at the local dealership stated that it was a poorly designed engine that was supposed to use some oil); however, this engine sucks the oil dry in under 2 months time thus making the motor die/stall while driving. This is very dangerous! i have seen posts on forums where people keep telling others to make sure to keep an eye on your oil. Apparently, many people are having issues with this particular 2.4 engine. The oil light only flickers while going around a corner & when you check the oil, it is almost bone dry - if comparing it to a 12 in. Ruler, it might land on the 1st line (of 8 lines) on the way to an inch - just the tip of the dipstick will have a slight amount of oil on it. This started happening within 2 months of purchase - car bought used in june 2020. At first, we thought that they sold us a car and didn't check the oil, but now we know better than that.
Constant engine stalling at highway speeds and normal speeds causing all engine power to cease in my vehicle leaving it to the mercy of my brakes which lock up upon power loss and makes it extremely difficult to stop. Brought vehicle to dealership multiple times just to be told that they could not duplicate the problem. It continues to happed and i have already had one small collision and have almost been forced off of a cliff 2 times since these problems have started.
Sputtering or hesitation when driving.
Engine stalling saying shift into park. I had it towed to dealership and they are saying my oil is dangerously low. I had an oil change wednesday april 1st and have noticed no oil leaks. This has to be the fuel pump causing this.
My jeep renegade may be equipped with a cracked oil pump housing/balance shaft module (bsm), which has caused the oil pump to fail and the engine to stall. I'm afraid for my family's life that the engine stall and risk getting into a crash. This issue was a problem for jeep in 2017 or 2018. I have brought this to the attention to the dealership in dec 2019 and mar 2020. I happened two does ago on may 23rd it completely stop on my fiancee with a full tank of gas. We are playing russian roulette with our lives.
I purchased a 2018 jeep renegade at the end of july 2018, it had worked well until the end of june 2019.i was on a road trip from south carolina to colorado and i was on the road for a week with no issues, but on june 28th as i was driving on i-70 through kansas at about 80 mph when my engine began to stall out.at first it was dropping about 10 - 15 mph, but then it was quickly dropping 30 - 40 mph.i was able to make it into the right most lane, but a check engine light and service transmission light appeared on my dashboard while my engine stalled out completely.i had to restart my car a few times, but after a few restarts the notifications disappeared.every time the engine stalled out, i would lose the use of my gas and brake pedals.the electronics were still working, but driving was non-responsive.i was able to safely nurse my car into the nearest city and eventually get towed to the nearest jeep dealership.the dealership was able to look at the jeep the next day (june 29th) and did some computer diagnostics and told me that the jeep was good to go.i made it about 180 miles and had just gotten back onto i-70 in colorado when the issue returned.engine stalled out, dropped speed to zero mph and pedals became unresponsive.i had to wait several hours to be towed to aurora, co to a jeep dealership (larry h miller jeep).my jeep was with larry h miller from june 29th to july 3rd.they told me that they drove it several hundred miles, despite my odometer not matching their information, and told me that there was no issue with my jeep.i made it 10 miles from the dealer before the stalling issue returned.this almost caused a crash on a congested narrow highway in denver, co.when i called the dealer, they told me they couldn't help and to see another dealer.i was towed to a third dealer, who was also not able to find any issue.
The vehicle burns oil causing the vehicle to shutdown without warning.we have the vehicle services regularly, but it burns so much oil we're having issues before it's due for routine oil change. My son was about 30 miles away from home when his vehicle stalled without warning.he also mentioned that at times it would sputter during acceleration.we purchased this vehicle new and currently it has 29,000 miles. We had the vehicle towed under warranty to the dealership and they kept it for over a week before they were able to look at it.i inquired about getting a loaner vehicle since we were down a vehicle and the dealer said all their loaners were out and they will only allow us to have the loaner for 5 days total.so, they said they would contact us when they had a loaner available.we never heard back from them, so my husband called them back 8 days later to inquire about a loaner again, and at that time they said the vehicle was ready; all it needed was oil.so, when we went to pick-up the vehicle they're charging us $189 and this vehicle is still on warranty.the warranty on the jeep is fraudulent and the dealerships are devious.
My car is shutting down while driving it. My car just started saying 'low oil pressure' and not even a day later turned off while i was driving it and i was almost rear ended. It did it once more before i was able to get it into the dealership. The dealership told me to do an oil consumption test and bring it back in but i don't think i should have to drive a potentially unsafe car. There is a class action lawsuit against fca from other people experiencing the same problems i am experiencing because fca has known about these issues for years and has done nothing to fix the problem.
When operating the vehicle, especially on turns, the car will cut out and not accelerate when they accelerator is pushed down. It'll leave a lag and then suddenly engage and take off quickly. It's like a studder but has left me trying to turn across traffic and sit in the same spot, paused and not able to move with oncoming traffic headed for me.
I was making a right onto a road and i lost all power to the drive train and had to make a sudden right turn into a subdivision that was to my immediate right. I could still steer; which was how i pulled myself off the road into the subdivision immediately after making the turn onto the road. I checked the oil level when i came to a stop inside the subdivision. It read that the oil level was slightly above the recommended level on the dipstick. I was on my way to have the oil change done. The car was due for an oil change at the time. I was taking it in for the oil change 100 miles before the due date.a week earlier and the day before the car displayed a low oil pressure indicator on the display. Those were the first times in my life i've seen that message.i contacted the parts department of the troncalli jeep dodge dealership i had bought the vehicle from later that day. I asked why the engine stopped and the man i spoke to said probably had something to do with how the engine was made. In which the engine could stall if the oil level is half a quart over or under the minimum or maximum level.that was the 1st instance of my vehicle stalling.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that while driving and coming to a sudden stop or going around a curve, the vehicle independently shut-off without warning. The vehicle was restarted and drove normally. The vehicle was taken to friendship chrysler dodge jeep (190 oak street extension, forest city, nc 28043) but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,410.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade latitude. The contact stated while his daughter was driving at approximately 35 mph, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be inspected. The oil was topped off.an unknown dealer was then contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that due to a related oil consumption issue with similar vehicles, a quart of oil may be necessary to be added at 1,000 miles interval. The contact was informed that the manufacturer was working to remedy the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The manufacturer was able to confirm the information provided by the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 4,500.
On the manual transmission, the clutch seems to not reengage completely (as if you were riding the clutch) causing it to get hot and have a lack of power and a nauseating odor.the problem began abruptly and causes a significant loss of power/acceleration that is extremely hazardous on the roadway.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the vehicle loss motive power without warning and stalled. The contact checked the oil level and discovered that there was no engine oil in the vehicle. Jack phelan dodge chrysler jeep ram (5859 s. La grange rd, countryside, il 60525) was contacted and made aware of the failure. An appoint was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed which was still pending. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000. The vin was not included.
Engine oil consumption issues
The vehicle loses fuel pressure and burns oil when there is no present oil leak. The vehicle shuts off while in drive causing the wheel to lock.
While i am driving, usually mid turn my car will stall telling me it's low on oil
Rental vehicle. While on us 89 north bound after passing logan vehicle engine stalled/stopped several times while climbing thru cache valley on us highway 89 exposing us to a dangerous environment. Vehicle had to be pushed to a safe place (mile marker 429). This issue may or may not be related to the vehicle production or just only for the one identified above. 11jul20 utah forest/park person as well as utah state patrol trooper helped in obtaining road assistance.
Car stalls when driving or coming to a stop. No 'check-engine' or 'check-oil' light or any other indication engine stall or failure. Told by dealer that this will occur when the oil is low. Stated this has been seen more often with this model and engine and that the engine is burning more oil than it should be.
Use excess oil, uses a quart of oil every 2,000 miles.
When coming to a stop, the jeep stalls and tells me to turn engine back on and/or to change gears. After checking forums, other drivers said to check the oil and the oil was completely dry. Ive only had the vehicle a month and a half.
Vehicle shut off twice while in motion with no warning. Changed oil at 12000 miles. At 14,500 miles the vehicle flashed a low oil pressure sign and shut off while moving on a 45mph road. It then struggled to restart. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership where they confirmed there was no oil. I am now doing an oil consumption test per the dealership's instructionsand the dealership confirmed on the 3rd test (16000 mileage) after 1500 miles that the vehicle burned a quart of oil so far. We are continuing the tests. The vehicle does not warn of low oil or give warning when it is shutting off. It will completely shut off while in motion, leaving the driver to attempt to coast to a safe area. The dash will then read 'place gear in p and press button to turn on' this has occurred twice - the first time that required the oil change at 12000 in november 4, 2019 and the second at 14,500 on december 31, 2019. In summary, the vehicle burned through 5 quarts of oil in a little over 2000 miles and shut off with no warning, and is beginning the process again while being monitored under the dealership.
Car powers off when driving. It has happened 3 times this week. It shuts off so you can't give it any gas and says on the screen 'place vehicle in p and hit the start button' this happened 3 times this morning and the dealer said it might be oil consumption and i'm now doing a test for that which they said they might have to replace the engine.
Vehicle stalls while in motion with no warning. Happened at least 4 times within the last month.
Driving with my child in the vehicle and the car engine cutoff. Luckily i was not in traffic and was able to get the vehicle stopped. Message in dash was something about needing to shift to park. Placed vehicle in park, engine restarted and sputtered for a moment, then continued as normal. Only happened once. Dealership said it was likely due to low oil level (approximately 2500 miles since oil change).
Oil level in engine dropped. Then car stalls with no warning. So far dealer is assessing the issue by doing an oil consumption test, but the issue still there without been resolved. Very dangerous problem. Because car stopped on me in middle of highway. This issue has to be looked in to in a bit rush..
Purchased vehicle july 2019. Today i was making a right hand turn and the d light started blinking and the car just shut off. I was on a hwy rd with heavy traffic. It took a couple tries and the car finally started back up. I just found out that the vehicle i have has a motor that has a serious problem with oil issues and jeep not fixing it, they're just telling the consumer to just keep putting oil in it. This is unacceptable considering how much i pay a month. These motors need to be replaced before someone gets killed. I put my vin number in and it says no recalls. There needs to be one asap. Now that m scared to drive my vehicle.
Vechile is consuming oil every 1000 miles
Vehicle stalling and dying while trying to drive. I can sit for 10 min and it hesitates so i have to put it in park and stop (sometime while in the middle of the road) it seems if i leave it running for about 20 min it will do this then the whole front end shakes and it automatically shuts its self off. And in order to drive it i have to leave it turned off for about 30 min then it will run ok... I've taken it to my local dealership twice they can seem to replicate it (if they even really tried to) i just purchased this less than two months ago had only 6 miles on it. Its a 2018 jeep renegade limited 2x4.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle shook violently and started to lose acceleration. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure occurred two other times. The vehicle was towed to don jackson chrysler jeep (3950 jonesboro rd, union city, ga 30291), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 5,200.
Engine has knocking sound. ( detonation) when accelerating . Constantly. Dealership respond was : no issue found. I've been requested diagnostic twice. Same respond. Even my wife could hear this sound.
My vehicle has been burning oil and no oil light ever comes on. My vehicle then overheated post 1 week after an oil change and the safety mechanism turned on and shut my vehicle down. The sensor never detected the vehicle was overheating. It went from a "please lower rpm" to shutting down within seconds on the interstate. There are similar recalls on other years of this make and model. It has been burning oil since i bought the vehicle brand new. There is currently 80,000 miles on the car and has never missed an oil change or any service. My safety was put at risk by driving on the interstate and the vehicle completely shutting down going full speed. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone but the people who have completely oil changes, etc. Never been in an accident. There were no previous warning lights prior to the shut down and overheating. The vehicle had started bogging down before the initial reduce rpm alert came on followed by the shut down seconds later.
While accelerating the vehicle staled. I was scary i bought my jeep and it only has 8000 miles on it.i put the car in park then drive it did not move. I pushed off the road. Turned the engine off then restarted it, and it drove fine.i am still nervous driving my renegade, it may happen again.
I bought a brand new 2018 jeep renegade.at approximately 2,500 miles the car would shut off on me while driving.no warning lights came on.it shut off twice while driving straight and twice while making left hand turns.after the first time it shut off, it didn't have the pickup it had before and seemed to sputter.i took it to a jeep dealership and they said that i was out of oil.they topped it off and sent me onmy way.at 5,500 miles my car shut off on me again while driving.this was very scary.it occurred while making a left hand turn at a large intersection.i thought i was going to get hit.lost all power steering and car took time to restart.again, the car sputtered after that and turned off a couple of more times before i could get back to dealership.my car is now in for an oil consumption test.i have researched this issue and see that there are many other complaints of the same issue.a brand new car should not be shutting off while driving.this is a safety issue.some warning light needs to identify there is a problem.checking the oil every 1,000 miles is unacceptable for a new car.this is very dangerous.will it take lives lost for action to be taken?
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power randomly while driving on the highway. The vehicle was taken to three different dealers, but no failure was found. Bettenhausen chrysler dodge jeep ram(8355 w 159th st, tinley park, il 60477, (708) 532-2665) initially stated that the vehicle would be ready to pick up earlier in the week; however, they still had the vehicle. The diagnosis specifics were unknown. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that there were no recalls. The contact was informed to call nhtsa to file a complaint. The contact also stated that the service engine indicator illuminated between trips to the dealers. The vehicle was still under warranty. The failure mileage was unknown.
My jeep renagade has 2950 miles and had no oil i had to put oil it it to get it to the garage to is what was going on, so they decided to do a change and i have to drive it another 700 miles and take it back to them to see if it's used any oil, i've never before had a new vehicle that ran out of oil or that i had to add oil to before the first change, i very unsatisfied with the way things are being handled
I have had my car for exactly 3 months..... First thing that went wrong was the trunk hydraulic bar broken and fell off after i opened my trunk. And the big issue.. My car randomly shuts off while i'm driving, it started on the turnpike and then continuedon the city streets. I finally was a block from the house and i had coast into my driveway.there is no warning when it happens it just shuts off.when i go to turn it back on it revs up real high and then idles low.my car is 3 months..... Only has 3800 miles on it... I didn't pay 29k for a brand new car for it to have to be in the shop because something is already wrong with the engine... This does not reflect well on the jeep renegade... *dt
This is the fourth time in three month my vehicle has locked up, told me to switch gears and completely shut off. I was on the interstate and was almost rear ended because of this! the car continues to do this despite getting the recommended oil changes. My oil was just changed 2,000 miles ago. Someone is going to die and this needs to be recalled! hundreds of renegade owners are having this issue. Dangerous! i have children and this car is less than two years old and shutting off?
Car is excessively burning oil. It randomly shuts off going down the road. It has almost caused accidents.
I had purchased a brand new 2018 jeep renegade trailhawk and before it had even reached the appropriate mileage to bring the vehicle in for its first standard service, i had discovered the engine was burning an excessive amount of oil. The vechile has stalled on me before while the car was in motion and whilst driving on busy highways. I have made multiple complaints with the dealership and made attempts to have the issue corrected (oil consumption test, replacing the pcv valve) and yet the issue still exists. Jeep staff members through the dealership along with members from jeep headquarters keep attempting to inform me "it's normal, just keep putting oil in it.." i am not satisfied with this response. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. It is not only hazardous to myself as the driver, but also the public when the car does stall.
On 2 separate occasions, within about 1 week of each other, the engine stalled while making a right turn. My vehicle only had about 7k miles on it at the time. The 2nd time it happened there was a low oil pressure warning that had come on briefly when i started the engine. The engine stalled on a busy road and i was barely able to pull off. I felt very unsafe during the time it took me to restart the engine. That night when i checked the dipstick there was no oil. The next day i got an oil change and haven't had a problem since. The dealership was unable to tell me why there was not enough oil in the engine.
2018 jeep renegade (2.4l) automatic 4cyl 2wd with under 20,000 miles at the time it first started seizing up mid-drive, back in october. The vehicle spontaneously shut off in the middle of the street. I almost died! i took it to the dodge chrysler dealership after that, and i was told that there was a computer software issue that was supposedly reset but here we are months later and it happened again where the engine seized and i was stalled in the middle of a busy road! my passenger and i are lucky to even be alive after that incident! i noticed that the low oil-pressure light comes on for a half-second when turning a hard corner then goes away. After looking up to see that there is a "current campaign for repairs" i have scheduled an emergency appointment with the dealership service department (why not a recall? this situation is dangerous!) from my research based on information from several sources, it looks like updating/reprogramming the pcm software is not enough to fix the oil consumption issue. This is a faulty engine issue and i need my engine to be replaced to ensure my personal safety in a vehicle that i have owned for less than a year. I have gone into debt just to buy the vehicle, the least dodge chrysler jeep can do is ensure the quality of the product i purchased. The lives of many people are at risk, here. I've read the details of the class action lawsuit.
My wife has had her renegade for about 6 months now. We purchased it brand new. A couple weeks after we got it she was driving down the road in town and it started sputtering and shut off under a red light at a busy intersection and about got hit.after a couple minutes it finally started back and was able to get it off the road. Once off the road she let it sit and started it back up and attempted to drive home but it cut off again.we left it over night at the sheriff's dept and got it the next day and drove it to the dealership.we told them what was happening and they kept it for about a week and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So after driving it for another couple of days it started messing up again.so yet again we took it back to the dealership and they kept it for about a week and said they fixed it. Now after a couple of months its doing the same thing as before and about caused her to get hit. It's back at the dealership so hopefully they will figure it out. But after reading all of the reports from other people i don't have much faith in that. Hopefully jeep will swallow their pride and recall the vehicles before someone gets killed.
Bought new 2018 jeep renegade. Traveling from panama city florida to a new duty station at ft. Bliss (el paso texas). At around 400 miles on the vehicle odometer, windshield started cracking. At around 1400 miles on vehicle odometer, transmission and engine failed 5 separate times while trying to get to a safe place to pull over. We were traveling west on interstate 10, posted speed limit 80 mph, approximately 4 foot of shoulder some areas, zero feet where guard rails were.
On a us art 250 stopped because of oil pressure going straight has happened a few times. Now it still happens but it is coming up service engine. The dealer and jeep will not do anything about it. Took to advanced auto they did a diagnostic and is saying throttle actuator control system sudden high airflow detected and received engine torque request signal stuck. Wanting date below, but has happened several times. I'm putting most recent date of incident which was today. Which we took vehicle to dealer again today.
Had an oil change around 2 months before the issue occured. When pulling out of my drive way the jeep stopped and shut off. Upon inspection i was low on oil. After adding 3 quarts of oil i found where other people online had similar issues with specifically the 2018 jeep renegade 2.4 liter motor consuming copious amounts of oil.others had they're renegades stop while driving down the highway but lucky i was lucky enough to be in my driveway.i have always had an oil change on time and through jeep as well.i also don't understand how they passed and emissions test while the motor burns that much oil.
2018 jeel renagade 4wd stalls while driving. Feels like loss of fuel pressure around 60 mph. No speed control while deceleration. When stopped the vehicle requires to shift to park and turn off. Sometimes will automatically try to restart the engine several times. Dangerous because i was driving on a busy highway with no acceleration or deceleration.
Vehicle randomly shuts off/stalls while driving. Has happened on the highway at highway speeds, trying to pass another vehicle or simply while barely accelerating to merge. First few times transmission warning light came on, then change oil light came on. Last few times, engine just simply shuts off, speedometer slowly declines and there is no power. Pull over to shoulder, then message says vehicle must be in park before shifting to another gear, then says push brake pedal & push start. This happened several times while out of state, on vacation. Took it to the nearest dealership after having to spend extra money on a hotel room for 2 nights that i did not plan for, because this happened the evening before a holiday so i had to wait the extra day for the dealership to open. They found a code on the transmission, and also the fluid was a quart low. They cleared the code, filled the fluid, and i also had them change the oil as a precaution. Left the dealership, drove approximately 150 miles, and vehicle shut down on interstate again, 3 more times. Had to spend another night in a hotel, the closest dealership said couldn't look at vehicle until following week, so i drove back to the previous dealership where they couldn't find anything or couldn't duplicate the issue. Next day they found debris in pan so said chrysler said to change transmission. Had to leave vehicle in colorado, got rental to return home. Picked up vehicle 10 days later, driving home, vehicle did same thing again, 3 times. Drove remaining way home slowly, with breaks every 50-75 miles so issue wouldn't keep happening, vehicle is currently at local dealership and they (once again) cannot duplicate issue or find anything wrong. This is obviously an issue, i've seen several complaints about the stalling/shutting down. This is dangerous, as it happens on the interstate and could cause serious injury or death. Fiat/chrysler does not seem to be concerned about that.
I bought my jeep renegade in august of 2018. Not even a month of driving later (2,000 miles), i was on the side of the highway because the engine stalled and then gave me a low oil pressure warning. When i took the vehicle into the dealership they said it was too early to do an oil change and to come back at 10,000 miles. I had to fill the vehicle with 2 quarts of oil to keep it running. I then ran into the same problem at the 7,000 mile mark where i stalled on the side of the road. The dealership finally did an oil consumption test, and i thought they would see it as a problem that the engine is "consuming" 1 quart per 1,000 miles. However, it is "normal" under the fca guidelines for their engines to consume this amount of oil. I tried to get the dealership to get me out of the vehicle i had just bought, and they told me it wasn't worth very much because it had a bad engine. They would not fix the engine though unless it was consuming more than 1 quart per 1,000 miles. I completed yet another test to find that the oil consumption stayed the same. I was having to fill the oil reservoir in between oil changes in fear that i would stall on the highway again and get hit by a vehicle. There are no warning lights for this issue until after the engine stops. The dealership told me i needed to just check the dipstick everytime i fuel up. This is only a temporary fix as i am filling up with $10 quarts of oil every 1,000 miles and then doing an oil change every 3,000 miles because if i go to the recommended 10,000 miles there will be engine problems. I would like to do my own oil changes, but have been going to the dealership in fear that i would be to blame for the oil consumption issue if i dared to change my own oil. I am currently at 30,000 miles. It appears that chrysler is avoiding resolving the issue until it comes out of my pocket in 6,000 miles.
Engine consumes oil. There is zero reason for a 2018 model vehicle to consume engine oil. Dealership has talked with me about this at every oil change and tried to explain that this engine is designed to consume oil. Bull crap!!! recall this and fix the problem fca. There are thousands of people with the same problem and complaints.
My stalled 3 times in 2 weeks. Twice i was slowing to take a turn-this happened a week apart in the same exact turn.twice i was driving about 20 mph.this happened on 4-21-19, 4-27-19 and 4-30-19.i have approx 5200 miles. I called chrysler and they said there were no recalls, that i probably do not need an oil change (she checked on this information). When the light goes on or 7-8,000 miles i should schedule one. No dash indicator lights come on. Each time i am able to guide my car out of traffic. I shut off radio, wipers and all electrical and after i hit to restart it sounds like it is really trying, but it eventually does start. I stalled this morning (5-1-19) and i was almost rear ended as it was so sudden. The car behind me had to swerve.i put on my hazards. I called chrysler corporate because my dad hears something about the 2.4l engine being recalled.chrsyler corporate told me to bring it to the dealer and either way should be covered (warranty or added to recall). The dealer had no record of recalls and said i needed an oil change. That is ridiculous that needing an oil change could be such a dangerous thing. I find that hard to believe.i have had this jeep since oct 2018. I am very scared now. I commute to boston in the tunnels and on the tobin bridge during busy rush hour.so disappointed these dangerous problems are happening - and so soon after purchasing. My customer care # from my call into chrysler (fca - fiat chrysler automobiles), which they closed even though it wasn't resolved, is 57585393. Called them 4-30-19also, sometimes when i turn my wheel to take a sharp turn a bell dings one. It has happened about 6 times since owning.
Takata recall i was driving home and low oil pressure light came on then went out so when i got home i checked the oil it was empty no oil on dipstick then checked again then it showed full of oil did this 3 times doesnt leak and doesn't smell like its burning or losing power
The car is burning through oil around 1 quart for every thousand miles. When the oil is low the car will stall while driving which is dangerous. The car forces oil changes every 4000 miles roughly or the consumer constantly buying a special type of oil that costs more as well. The car will also not go into gear properly when the oil is low.
One month ago my car stalled as i accelerated to no one into traffic. The engine light was on and i was directed to put the car in park, put on the brake and restart. On 8/25/19 the car stalled as i waited for the light to change.
When driving downhill 55 mph at an approximate altitude of 5500ft on hwy 80 west in wyoming, my vehicle completely lost all power, engine shutdown and dashboard message said shift to park. Very scary and dangerous situation that i was able to control. I proceeded to park the vehicle on the side of the hwy and shifted to park. I waited for about 15 minutes not knowing what to do. I decided to turn the engine on, which it did, shifted to drive, and drove to the nearest hwy exit. I do not know the exact cause of the issue, but it seems, base on other owners report's that the problem is caused by a failure in the enginefuel pump and/or voltage regulator which it makes sense. Please investigate and recall the issue before someone dies.
New jeep renegade, excessive oil consumption on 2.4l multiair engine.there is potential for low oil sensors to shut down engine in traffic, or worse for engine to freeze up. My first incident was at 2800 miles, 2500 since oil change. Theengine was 3.5 quarts low.fearing damage or shut down i topped it off and took it to the dealer.dealer only checked the dipstick, and since i had just filled it they declared they didn't see a problem. 2nd time was 700 miles later (town driving), 1 quart low, imade the same mistake of topping it off, and thedealer again said no problem. 3rd time idid not top off, and they now admit it's using too much oil finding it low by 1.2 quarts in 1500 miles (highway driving).but they indicate they can't address the issue until 7500 miles are on the car per fca (manufacturer) guidelines.in addition fca says that 1 qt per 2000 miles is "normal". I am now at 5300 miles, soit remains unfixed and potentially dangerous to drive if i or my wife fail to add oil every 1000 miles. My two problems are a) the car engine is defective and should be replaced or fixed promptly as the warranty would indicateb) as a purchaser of a new car ishould have been advised in either the warranty by other signature document that thecar would potentially use1 quart every 2000 miles under "normal" use. I attach the jeep service bulletin on excess oil use.i have service documents from my dealer to substantiate my requests for relief and a fix, which i still wait for.there is no single incident, this is an on going problem that fca is not addressing (similar to the toyota 2az-fe engine class action suit).ask about my speed on this form i have said 50, but it varied from 20 to 65mph over a period of time.
I have had 4 incidents now where i made a right hand turn and the car stalled in the middle of the road.turned the engine off, attempted to restart.the engine would try to fire, but would take several tries, then would start roughly.then would run fine.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked, vibrated and stall without warning. The vehicle was taken to atlanta west chrysler dodge located at 1251 thornton rd, lithia springs, ga 30122, where the mechanic flashed the pcm and tcm due to the transmission failures however, the failures recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000.
I have a 2018 jeep renegade that i first had this problem with at 5000 miles. Took it to dealership, they said they changed oil, and that i had to drive it for 1000 miles, mind you it had been stalling in traffic, if during the 1000 mile test stalling occured to bring it back to service dept. If no stalling occured then i was good. Well after 4000+ miles it happened again this time when i was 300 miles away from home, and in very heavy traffic. Sticker dealership put on my window was for oil change at 10087 miles, i was at 9600. Had car towed by roadside assistance and waited for monday morning to go to dealership. First dealership literally sent me a text telling me i had to pay 135.00 diagnosis labor cost up front, while my car is under warranty, i told them not to touch the car and had it towed to another dealer. They also gave me a very hard time, but finally after 5 hours told me it again was "oil consumption" issue, that they would do oil change, and that i am to take it in to dealership at 1000 miles regardless of issue happening again. Oh and they tried charging me 78.25 for oil change, which was quickly changed to 0 by service manager who said i should not be charged anything since my car is under 10000 miles.so what i am supposed to go to dealership every 1000 miles??? i missed a day of work cause of this.this is completely unacceptable and a huge safety issue.
Vehicle purchased brand new was making left, low oil light came on, and vehicle wanted to stall. I called in to dealer to discuss since i was already bringing it in for a passive entry light on dash warning light. They said bring it in right away. My next oil change was over 1000 miles away from being due & they said it was down 2 quarts. I drove 250 miles until my next appointment for the other repair problem 2 weeks later and there was less than 1/2 notch left of oil on the dipstick. The engine was given a fresh oil change and now must be checked every 500 miles to determine if it's an engine consumption case. My other 2 oil changes were free to use within 1 year so in order to not loose them my oil changes were performed well before they were due.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally. The contact called tri-county chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 1290 hebron rd, heath, oh 43056, (740) 522-3153) and was informed that the vehicle stalled due to insufficient oil and an appointment needed to be scheduled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an oil change was performed, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 88513705. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
Vehicle was purchased brand new off the showroom floor in july. In december it began stalling at odd times and not wanting to restart. Week before christmas the oil change indicator came on. I thought nothing of it and figured i would schedule it as soon as i could after the holidays. The vehicle began stalling shortly after the oil change indicator happened. I thought it was because i did not let the vehicle warm up long enough and it was very cold outside. Nope. I was on my way to the gas station and the vehicle stalled in the intersection and refused to restart. I was almost struck several times. It took 5 minutes to restart the vehicle and it was making noises like the engine did not want to turn over and catch. I finally got it out of the road and into the parking lot of the gas station. It sat for a few minutes and then restarted reluctantly. I filled it up with gas and it took several tries to get it to restart. A week later i was coming home from work and it stalled on me leaving the parking lot, i had literally driven 500 feet. When i restarted it, the vehicle check engine light came on and the red "power reduced" light was flashing on the dash. It would not go over 25 mph. I was able to get it to a parking lot a little ways up the road and let it sit for about 20 minutes. It restarted with no problems, the reduce power light was gone, the check engine light was still on, and i was able to drive it at a normal speed the rest of the way home. I started it again the next morning. No issues, check engine light is still on. As of this writing, i have had the vehicle for 6 months and it has 8100 miles on it. I bought it new off the showroom floor. If the reports i keep seeing on here are accurate, i will be trading it in for something else asap.
I purchased and have driven a new 2018 jeep renegade 2.4 auto since december 2018. I was driving the other day and turned into traffic when unexpectedly the low oil light came on in my vehicle and it completely shut down! total power loss. I was almost demolished by a fully loaded log truck. I parked the car and checked the oil per the instruction manual procedure. It was over 2 qts. Low in 5,000 miles of driving. I have tried multiple times and the jeep dealership refused toprovide me with any repair documents after inspection. They told me the problem is well known but fca is doing nothing to remedy it and their service department was not going to do any further evaluation into the problem.this was not disclosed to me in any way before i purchased the vehicle nor is it mentioned or included at all in the owners/ maintenance manual.in addition i had to pay $85.00 for an oil change that should not have even been necessary. These vehicles are not safe to drive. I now have to park my nearly new vehicle because i am terrified to drive this car in traffic. They are still selling these things! please make them stop, they are dangerous vehicles to drive.*dt
Brakes have been screeching when i slow down to make a turn on residential road. But when i have the breaks checked i'm told they are fine.also rhe passenger side small yellow light keeps goubf in and out. I brought it to the dealership a few months ago but the light came back on.
I was in a accident was hit on driver side and none of my airbags deployed
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light and another unknown warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to huntington beach chrysler dodge jeep ram (16701 beach blvd, huntington beach, ca 92647) where the vehicle was diagnosed with excessive oil consumption. The contact was informed that the dealer would not honor nhtsa campaign number: 18v731000 (fuel system, gasoline) since the last oil change was not performed by an authorized dealer. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the nhtsa campaign. The husband of the contact reached out to the manufacturer and was informed to monitor the vehicle for 1,500 miles. The contact was informed that depending on the results, the vehicle may be eligible for repair under the recall campaign. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle loss motive power. The vehicle was restarted after waiting approximately 40 minutes. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 18v731000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
While accelerating the vehicle staled. I was scary i bought my jeep and it only has 8000 miles on it.i put the car in park then drive it did not move. I pushed off the road. Turned the engine off then restarted it, and it drove fine.i am still nervous driving my renegade, it may happen again.
Sputtering or hesitation when driving.
The jeep stalls while driving. A couple times it happened on the freeway going around 70 mph. Most recently it happened on a smaller road going about 40 mph. It just shuts off completely. When you try to crank it afterwards it stutters but eventually cranks then a few minutes after driving it shuts off again.
Engine stalling saying shift into park. I had it towed to dealership and they are saying my oil is dangerously low. I had an oil change wednesday april 1st and have noticed no oil leaks. This has to be the fuel pump causing this.
Had an oil change around 2 months before the issue occured. When pulling out of my drive way the jeep stopped and shut off. Upon inspection i was low on oil.

8 days after purchasing the car, with around 250 miles on it the car stalled in a the middle of the road. I was going about 25 mph. It stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely. I put it in park and turned it back on, as soon as i put it back in drive it died again. It died 5 times trying to get to the side of the road. I brought it into the dealership and they told me that they couldn't replicate the issue and when i mentioned the open recall they stated my vin was not part of it and sent me on my way. A few weeks later it stalled again in the middle of the road coming to a stop light, going about 20 mph. It stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely again. I brought it back in to the dealership, again nothing. The third time it happened i was driving about 40-50 mph, it stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely. They finally replaced the fuel pump, still said it wasn't the recall though. It hasn't happened in the 1500 miles since they replaced it.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled and jerked unexpectedly without warning. The failure continued after the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.
My vehicle is stalling out while in motion when turning onto a city street on multiple occasions. The vehicle will still be on, but pressing on the gas does nothing. The vehicle is in gear when this happens. I am worried it may be a fuel pump as i just purchased the vehicle in october 2018.
Engine turns off while driving.can only be restarted after coming to complete stop, setting shift to "park".turning sharp corners causes "low oil pressure" warning.
When attempting to accelerate from a stopped position on a driveway the car stalled and the onboard display read "shift into gear".a full loss of power to the engine and transmission occurred.car had to be restarted to resume driving of the vehicle. The restart was very rough, as if it needed gas. Stall could have caused loss of life or injury if it would have occurred in traffic. This is the fourth time it has occurred.other vehicles of the same make and model have a recall for a faulty fuel pump and/or power train control module but mine doesn't.
Car stalled in traffic with no prior warnings. The car would not start back up.
While driving my jeep renegade has ahesitation when i take off it started doing this this weeki bought this car this year with 72 miles already having to replace the breaks which of course should last me at leae a year
The vehicle burns oil causing the vehicle to shutdown without warning.we have the vehicle services regularly, but it burns so much oil we're having issues before it's due for routine oil change.
The car smells horrible like gas inside when i start it to heat up. Started shaking, engine is making a loud sound that it didn't before. I got the transmission computer updated on march 30, 2021. Now transmission temperature gets to close to 200 degrees and the dealer said there was no need to flush because of the model. And i got the recall computer update on january 30. 2021 also for the oil issue. I'm am so unhappy with this vehicle. All these problems happen after my warranty ran out.
Was driving my car started to sputter and it is stalling out when i come to a stop. Also shaking and making noise when i drive it.
Jeep stopped accelerating on the interstate going 75 on cruise control; we were in the passing line with semi trucks behind us so we has nothing choice but to pull over to the left shoulder until we could safely move the car to the right shoulder. Car continued to run, but would not accelerate. No check engine light. Car was towed to a dealership, diagnostic did not show any issues; i was told that it happened because it was hot and because i drove it more than 5 hours. Jeep is stuck 12 hrs from where i live and there are no parts available. Manufacturer and dealership refuse to give me a loaner car.
Vehicle with ~2000 miles on it stalled out (engine turned off) multiple times while driving on city streets. Soon as i could get to a safe location and put in park it stalled again.has a full tank of gas and no other symptoms. Had been running without issue earlier in the day.
I was driving home from work when i lost power and could not get gas to the engine. Was going up a hill with traffic behind me and had little power. Had the gas pedal pressed to the floor and could not go any faster than 11 miles an hour. The engine was not getting any gas. I was afraid of pulling over on a hill because i didn't know if i would be able to get the vehicle to get moving back up the hill after stopping.
Vehicle stalled on a hill without warning. Towed to dealership and was told it had 1 quart of oil at 979 miles. At 700 miles when checked it was in normal range
The vehicle stalls out when i'm driving and i almost got hit by oncoming traffic. Very dangerous. Has happened several times and it's a new vehicle. It also temporarily stalls while slowing down, turning and completely shuts offs when i put it in reverse. The dealer says my vin has no recalls.
Upon pressing the gas peddle for acceleration, my car hesitates and jerks when i need to increase my speed quickly, but as soon as i let off of the gas it immediately stops. It does this in any gear upon shifting if i am in need to quickly increase my speed. For instance when i need to get on to an interstate (which i drive everyday) i have to wait for the traffic to be clear before i can get on the interstate because it wont go quick enough with traffic to merge. If i am out for an easy drive it drives just fine.(just like the recall for the other renegade listed.this has not fixed itself. It is still constantly doing this.
*dt
Brand new jeep renegade 2018 purchased jan.after one approx. 2mos. Tech in car not working and then engine light on for a week.brought to harr in worc. Could not figure out. Reported to customer care for a case number.radio then blacked out/then the safety issue occurred.the car stalled out in oncoming traffic going approx. 40 to 50 with my kids in car.same day contacted jeep cust. Carewho were to make me and appointment with rental in millbury. No rental was ever booked. Lost work time.millbury told me it was a known oil issue and when low the car will stall to protect the engine not the passengers.they told us there is no recall due to the fact that nobody has died or been hurt yet.n i purchased the vehicle from station jeep/mansfield, the sticker said dec. 6th/9000 miles.when i last went to them for the oil consumption test, they put another sticker on under it with same date dec 6th but at 5000 miles. I was told by the girl at the service desk and lionel that i am to have it checked now after 500 miles. They both explained this oil issue to me in detail stating that the car burns fast and is known to stall. There are many many similar complaints on line. No warning signs for oil have ever come on my dashboard.i am in contact with fiat chrysler in michigan who have not done a thing but to offer warranty and a number in case my car stalls again. I am most recently having a few other tech issues...which i was told is related to the oil being low.something needs to be done before we are seriously hurt or worse.*dtconsumer contacted fiat chrysler.
Car is excessively burning oil. It randomly shuts off going down the road. It has almost caused accidents.
The vehicle loses fuel pressure and burns oil when there is no present oil leak. The vehicle shuts off while in drive causing the wheel to lock.
I i am driving my car and at first when it hit one line of gas with no light on it would just shut off and not restart until i added more gas. This happened several time. I contacted the dealer and said they could not find anything cause there was not codes in the system and they could not make it happen again. So i was sent home. It has happen now at least four more times since. The last time it happened was last week and this time i had two lines of gas in the car. I had it in for expectation today and told them about the problem again. The preceded to tell me the same thing. Take it home because they can't find nothing wrong with it and i should call a tow truck next time it happens. But the car shuts off anytime. The last time it was on a highway with a two year old in the back seat. The car is acting like it ran out of gas but it is getting worst and is putting people in danger and can't get jelp to figure out what it wrong.
When fueling, the pump continuously clicks off. I've tried multiple positions and multiple gas stations. It does not make a difference. In oct 2018, had a sensor replaced. It dint work. Due to extenuating circumstances, i wasn't able to get the vehicle back in until now (2/26/20). They replaced the fuel tank and i'm still having the problem. Brought back to the dealership and waiting to hear back.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the parking brakes independently activated without warning. Additionally, that the vehicle would brake independently without warning and without the parking brake being activated. The contact had taken the vehicle to tom denchel ford country hermiston parts department (555 s hwy 395, hermiston, or 97838) where they were unable to determine or duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact stated that she was informed to take the vehicle back to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.
Jan. 5 2020: service engine appeared while driving. I drove 2 miles from work to home and my jeep would not accelerate up my angled driveway. I was pressing the accelerator but the vehicle was slowly going backward. I coasted backward to a level area and put the vehicle in park. I put it in drive and then was able to climb my driveway as normal. Jeep was notified. Obd code was u0402 (implausible data received from tcm) and (p1dd2 torque request signal from tcm denied). Jeep and chrystler state there are no recalls at this time.
While driving the car, lost all power. Pulled over to the side of the road and the engine was no longer running. The d for drive was flashingon the dash and a message popped up saying to put the car in park to start engine. This happened at least 7 times and it's a brand new car with just 1300 miles on it. *dtupdated 11/30/18
I bought this car new, this car is currently at 33596miles. Recently had noticed some really hard jerky shifting, so hard it feels like someone had bump into the rear of my car. When i start up the car cold, shift from park to reverse i can hear this harsh grinding, whining noise.
2018 renegade with 6 speed manual transmission 54,000 miles on it. Driving on highway and could not shift, revving high rpms, bad smell of burning clutch. Had to have towed to dealership and catastrophic failure of the clutch. Drove fine on thursday when i had it at the dealership for a oil change, drive fine friday to put new tires on it. Did not drive it saturday, drove it sunday at 11:30 at night and that's when it happened. I had no warning of any clutch issues previously.
When driving at long periods of time at higher rpm's (2500-3000), especially when driving on an incline, transmission appears to shift hard, not go into gear properly, or just simply go into neutral, and slow the vehicle down rapidly. When traveling on the decline, there were no problems whatsoever. Vehicle has 4800 miles on it. Spoke to dealer, and service tech informed me it wasn't the first time he's heard this complaint.
Car has stalled several times at high speeds on the freeway. Transmission is over heating.
While driving my vehicle is shutting off. It has shut off on the highway and in the city. Almost causing crashes. I would literally just be driving and the engine will shut off. I had to get towed today
The transmission skips gears around 80-90mph. It jerks and the gearbox light comes on. Light only goes on while driving. Check engine light accompanies the transmission light. It does it on the highway.
I purchased the car less than 2 months ago and it seems that the first four gears sometimes makes the car lunge when they shift up. I contacted the jeep dealer i bought it from and i was informed they couldn't do anything because there weren't any warning lights on the dash showing up.it happens sometimes when im accelerating both fast and slow.
On the manual transmission, the clutch seems to not reengage completely (as if you were riding the clutch) causing it to get hot and have a lack of power and a nauseating odor.the problem began abruptly and causes a significant loss of power/acceleration that is extremely hazardous on the roadway.
Purchased new on 3/19/19.on 3/25/19, with 108 miles on it, the transmission locked up while in motion, in traffic on a very busy highway.was towed to dealer, who 8 days later said transmission module was faulty, replaced, returned to me 4/1/19.4/6/19 same scenario repeated, however this time in a parking lot.again towed to dealer.the first time an extremely frightening experience! i strongly suggest a recall!!
Gear shifter moves out of gear while in motion causing car to stall and rpms to red line has happenedseveral different times first time at 70 mph car stalled looked down to see shifter had jumped to the neutral position on 2nd small (less than 2lbs) dog jumped across shifter knocking it to n3rd45-50mph stalled rpms redlined car died no apparent reason but shifter was in n position when recranked also paid $2088.00 for extended service agreement which was denied by seller on 2 separate occasions.
*dt
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard several times when the brake pedal was depressed. There was no warning indicator illuminated. While on an incline, the vehicle rolled in reverse while the brake pedal was applied. The contact was concerned that the failure could result in a crash. In addition, the vent control function failed to operate properly to emit warm air. The dealer (big o dodge chrysler jeep ram, 2645 laurens rd, greenville, sc 29607, (864) 288-5000) was notified of the failure and scheduled a diagnostic appointment. The dealer provided a loaner vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
Erratic shifts at cruising speed, and constant hard shifts when shifting up thru the gears. Fuid level is good, and no signs of leakage, vehicle currently has 40,143 miles, with hard shifting starting at 32,500 miles.
I have had 4 incidents now where i made a right hand turn and the car stalled in the middle of the road.turned the engine off, attempted to restart.the engine would try to fire, but would take several tries, then would start roughly.then would run fine.
The contact owns a 2018 jeep renegade. The contact stated that the vehicle was at stand still, when the ignition failed to start. The contact stated battery and electronic throttle control (etc) warning light were illuminated. The contact stated she noticed the vehicle had no oil but there was not leak. The contact stated she added oil and changed the battery. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to local dealer autonation chrysler dodge jeep ram spring located at 21027 i-45, spring, tx 77388, (281) 715-6927 and was being serviced at the moment. The vehicle had not been diagnosed repaired as of yet.upon investigation the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 18v524000 (electrical system), however the vin was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

The front seats have worn and have little pulls in them. They look like the seats are many years old and like they have been washed and have fuzz on them. Took it to dealership and they took pictures and sent to chrysler and said they told them many people have complained about it but they wouldn't fix them. Told me that it looked worn from a foreign object moving across the seat. This was 3 months after i bought it brand new. They drilled a hole in my arm rest to mount the camera to take pictures of the seat and said they drilled it a little to big and sorry, didn't even say anything about how to fix it or anything. That's not the only problem with it but i'll file those complaints separate.
Brakes have been screeching when i slow down to make a turn on residential road. But when i have the breaks checked i'm told they are fine.also rhe passenger side small yellow light keeps goubf in and out. I brought it to the dealership a few months ago but the light came back on.
Renegade manual transmission. Electronic parking break has issues disengaging. Shows it's turned off but after traveling a little while the light comes back on. I'd you want to take it to the dealer for diagnostics they charge you for inspection. If there's something wrong with the breaks that isn't covered by warranty you have to pay out of pocket. Come on chrysler... Really my new car may need brakes at 6700 miles. What's that say about the quality of you product?

Brake pads not worn after 28000 miles but deep grooves in rotors both left and right. Diagnosed by 2 technicians (2 different locations) as defective brake pads.
The front brake rotors on my jeep are grooved extremely bad. I only have 24,000 miles on it and i never brake hard. I took it in to the dealership and they said that the pads look like new and that there is no outside cause for the grooving and that the rotors would need to be replaced. There is a grinding feel when driving and braking.
Following a spontaneous fire that caused our jeep to be in for repair from 11/9/18 to 1/19/19, almost immediately, the jeep began to experience brake problems.on january 24, 2019 (only 5 days after a 10-week repair at the jeep dealership), our son advised me that the 'hill assist service' light was coming on multiple times a day.i phoned brian caswell at shelor in christiansburg, va who advised me to have our son return the jeep to the dealership which he did on january 25, 2019.brian called me on january 29, 2019 and advised that they would be doing a warranty repair on the brake light switch.brian also advised our son that the jeep had to be towed while parked on the shelor lot because of the brake issue, so it is fortunate that our son made it from blacksburg to christiansburg, va without an accident.our son picked up the jeep on january 30, 2019.however, when driving the car back to his apartment, the same "hill start assist" light came on and so the car was not drivable again.(this is the 3rd safety incident with this vehicle in 3 months. - one related to a fire and the second and third due to brake issues.)brian sent a tow truck on january 31, 2109 to bring the jeep back to shelor.i also sent an email from the jeep website to the fca usa customer care center on january 31, 2019 ' claim number 57935124.since then, i have also spoken several times with steve stander in the fca corporate office in warren, mi.on february 4, 2019, brian advised me that the anti-lock brake system module needs to be repaired, as this is thought to be the source of the recurring brake problem.the car supposedly is now repaired as of 2/7/19 but we will find out if it this is the case when my son picks it up in a day or so.
Or that they cant fix it uuntil i can reenact the problem for them
Red parking brake light and yellow brake light comes on with some loud annoying beeps as your driving. The attached photo is after i pulled over to take a picture and the other lights had went off. The first incident occurt less than a month after i purchased it. When i contacted the dealer i was told to "not worry about it, it was just an oddity". It has since happened a few other times. When taking it back to the dealer i'm told they can't replicate the issue, there's no codes, reports or recalls. The other photo is same situation but as you see one happened at -4 and the other instance was at 81. Loud engine noise. Fuel pump at gas station kicks of every few seconds no matter how long you wait to insert the nozzle or what angle its at. Was told by dealer all issues are because of temperature. All issues have occurred in temperatures ranging from -3 to 81 degrees. So apparently jeep's sweet spot is well...i don't know...somewhere that doesn't exist. Car has 10,000 miles on it. I have filed a claim with mopar warranty. I am scared to drive my new car. It has all come complete with a car payment and bonus trips to the dealer..

At 8916 miles the brakes failed
Every so miles the electronic braking system comes on while driving and tells me to service brakes now. This started when the car only had 100 miles on it and continues to at 4500 miles. Talked to dealer ship and they will do nothing about it.
The vehicle was traveling straight at approximately 45mph on a local road in pensacola, fl. The power steering locked the steering wheel in place and it was very, very hard to move. The hill assist needs service light appeared along with the traction control light. The vehicle was very difficult to turn and came to a stop near the shoulder after pulling hard the wheel.turned off the car then restarted.no warning lights and drove as normal to my house.
This is the second time in approximately 7 days when i have started the vehicle to leave and the power steering error will display and i have 0 power steering! i drive this daily on the interstate with my child and i read a forum where some people lost power steering while driving, this is not an option or a risk i am willing to take.

Not running right.
The vehicle loses fuel pressure and burns oil when there is no present oil leak. The vehicle shuts off while in drive causing the wheel to lock.

My mom was parking the vehicle in a parking lot, when it accelerated unexpectedly causing her to jump a curb and a tree branch struck the windshield and roof. A witness in a car nearby said she heard the vehicle rev up before jumping the curb.
I have not had this vehicle for a year only have had it for at least 9 months now drove it off the lot brand new only 2 miles on it. My tires are horrible the tread is showing on all 4 tires not only that the suspension on the car is completely unaligned. I have not hit anything or had any accidents in the vehicle at all. This should not be happening. Not only that i took it back to the dealership and they won't do anything about it.
Left the store, stopped at a red light, car started acting like it was out of gas and stopped running, no ā€idiotā€¯ lights came on, no check engine nothing, put vehicle in park to restart (said on) and it would jerk like it was out of gas every time fir over 30 minutes i sat at a light and was unable to keep the vehicle started/running. Finally someone offered to push the car and it just started, too it to the dealer and because it was on a saturday and the service department was closing in 5 minutes they refused to run a diagnostic test it sat there over the weekend and monday they said that there was nothing wrong and to drive it for 1,500 miles and bring it back in, although car is still acting like it doesnā€™t want to shift or stay running, they said that because my vin was not on the recall list they would only fix it if i paid out of pocket for it and the vehicle has less than 35,000 miles on it
I bought the vehicle 3/6/2020 from the i-10 dodge dealership in indio, ca.
While driving along my car shut down had message on dash put veh in park and select gear and a picture of oil can almost got hit from behind i was turning this has happened 4 times
Alarm comes on saying fcw sensor blocked but comes on at random.times sensor is not blocked comes on while driving causing system not to function, other times when working auto braking will activate while no obstruction is present
Lwhile driving vehicle completely shut down with no warning sign.was towed to the dealer and was told it was low on oil.the car is brand new with only 3000 miles.dealer informed me to check the oil every 1000 miles.was never told this when the vehicle was leased and now i'm stuck and afraid to drive it as it shuts down with no warning which is very dangerous.
My renegade trailhawk continues to stall while driving/turning.in the past two days it has happened three times.each time my sonwas in danger of being hit by another vehicle going at a fast speed (35/40 mph).these stalls occurred on busy streets (holme avenue - 19136; knights road - philadelphia, pa (going to jefferson torresdale hospital to work) and frankford avenue and grant avenue, philadelphia, pa) when it stalled.the "check oil" light came on once.i checked the oil and it was empty.i just had the car inspected on march 28, 2019 - including an oil change.how can a car that has a little over 3,000 miles on it have this happen.this just started and puts my family in a very dangerous situation.this also happened the week after i got the vehicle - called the dealer (reedman toll) and they said they had no reports of it happening to anyone else so just keep an eye on it.
My renegade 2018 keeps shutting off while at most stops i take it in service at least 8 times and can't duplicate the problem the mechanic can't find nothing the service department was very rude and not helpful they were rude i want the service department offered me the loaner 6 times and did nothing about can't find the problem
Was driving my car started to sputter and it is stalling out when i come to a stop. Also shaking and making noise when i drive it.
Takata recalli was leaving walmart remote started my jeep pulled off. Once i got on the road the jeep started stalling then it just shut off in the middle of the street with no warning. I don't understand how a jeep 2018 just cuts off. I had my kids in the car and we could have been seriously hurt.

My car has been in shop several different over same issue about vehicle not wanting to shut off have to go into settings to turn it off... Have took it to rod hatfiends in winchester ky
The 2018 jeep renegade stalled as i was turning in my driveway. Checked the oil and there was no oil on the dipstick. No lights came on. It had only 4000 miles on it. Not even time for its first oil change. Never had a new vehicle that had used oil. This is not safe. It could have stalled on me on the highway.
My vehicle's backup camera does not work. When i tried to back up and turned the shift into rear, the monitor usually turns on automatically but once it didn't and stayed all in black screen. I took my car to the dealer and they said the electric connection was loose. It was back on. But it happened again later so i took my car back to the same dealer again and they say the monitor works and they don't see any problem. Next day it turned all black again. It keeps happening. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't.
I have had 4 incidents now where i made a right hand turn and the car stalled in the middle of the road.turned the engine off, attempted to restart.the engine would try to fire, but would take several tries, then would start roughly.then would run fine.
My jeep renegade has 16000 miles on it. It has been in the shop 4 to 5 times for burning oil. When the oil gets low the engine shuts off while i'm driving. I was told i need to do an oil consumption test and it must burn a certain amount of oil for it to qualify for a new engine. It has shut off twice while my 8 month old twins were in the car. Both times i was on a city road. The first time i did an oil consumption test i brought it back after about 1500 miles and they told me it wasn't low. I stopped taking it since my last oil change and in 3000 miles it burned enough oil for it to shut off while driving. I brought it back to the dealership and they want me to do another test even though it has a long history of burning oil.
Sputtering or hesitation when driving.
Windshield wiper fluid leaking and is now leaking throughout the car.. It is leaking around the electrical wires in the front drivers side of the car under the carpet. Audio light on in car and also a lot of electrical problems on drivers side door
Terrible.
Internal driver side door handle spontaneously stopped working after i arrived home from work. Vehicle was parked in my parking spot, engine just turned off. Looked up past recalls, and 2015 model had similar issue with recall initiated.
I ordered some food and drove to exit of the parking lot and the car stalled completely in the middle of the road. The car didn't flash any lights. The dash repeated for me to put the car in park and press the on button. This wasn't working. I followed its instructions over and over but the car still would not move. When i would press the gas the car engine would get very bumpy despite not moving forward. I finally put it in reverse and it willingly moved backwards without hesitation. However, when put in drive again, the d on the gear selector would flash and i would lose control of the car again. I put the car in neutral and had someone push me out of the middle of the road. I turned off the car. When i turnedit on one more time, the jeep finally started driving like it should. I arrived home and checked the oil and it was not low.
When i'm at a red light the jeep jerks like someone hit me from behind.
I bought a 2018 jeep renegade for the purpose of having a safe bluetooth system to talk with my family. I have owned since new and reported this problem to jeep. The bluetooth cuts out and is garbled when on the phone. I own a 2018 chrysler pacifica with bluetooth and it is flawless. I was told that this it what i get with a renegade. I have to hold my phone in my hand while driving. In my opinion unsafe.
In december 2019and on december 5, 2020 while i was driving the vehicle it stopped. I turned the engine off, sat for a few minutes then restarted the vehicle, ii was slow to accelerate, then stopped again. I sat for a period of about an hour and then was able to restart the vehicle. When this occurred in 12-2019 the vehicle had 6484 miles on the odometer. When it happened in 12-2020 the vehicle had 9663 miles. Both times it occurred it was in city traffic. I do not know the cause of this problem. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer from which i purchased the vehicle but they have been unable to identify the problem or repair the problem. As per consumer reports there has been a recall on the fuel pump for the make and model for the same year. After a search of the jeep website, this agency's website and the dealer's records my vehicle is not on any recall list.
I was on a two lane highway on a straightaway with cruise control set at 70 miles per hour. With out warning my car turned to the right off of the highway and did not brake. I hit an embankment at full speed and rolled. I was not impaired nor did i fall asleep; however, due to injuries i sustained in the accident i have no recollection of the events causing me to leave the road. The vehicle did not skid or swerve and drove to the right until it started rolling. This vehicle should be investigated to discover possible reasons for it suddenly pulling right without brakes. Thankfully, the safety features of this vehicle saved my life, by all accounts they were expecting a fatality. I walked away with my life. I just want to know what caused this jeep renegade trailhawk 4x4 to suddenly turn right and not slow down as i know i would not have left the road in that manner for no reason and certainly would have been standing on the brakes and pulling to the left to avoid the embankment. I have full confidence in the jeep brand and know that regardless of the cause of my accident, the safety features of this vehicle are amazing!
Vehicle has stalled twice in the past couple weeks. Once after a right turn and once on a highway after slowing to go around something. Car has been maintained at the dealership. I see recalls involving the fuel pump and an electric module, but my vin doesn't show these.
My 2018 jeep renegade began to stall out on me while driving and turning and acting as if it doesn't want to crank. No lights are on. I've noticed some of them have been recalled for the same reason. I have the 2018 jeep renegade 4x2 2.4 liter.
Has anyone had any issues with their jeep just stalling? and have you figured out what caused it? 2018 regenadefirst time it happened was about 2 years ago. 8 months after i got it brand new. I was driving through atlanta and it just shut off. It came right back on. I drove someplace right off the exit and let it sit for an hour and checked the oil and it was fine. Still had about 300 miles until the recommended change. I drove the remaining 5 hours home without issue. Tonight i was sitting at a traffic light and it started sputtering.i tried moving forward and nothing.tried turning it off and back on. Nothing.my radio and ac were both still on. I was able to coast onto the side road (thankfully for a small decline) and pushed the off button again. When i tried turning it back on everything was locked up. Couldn't push the break peddle down and the drive light was flashing on the shifter.i let it sit another 30 seconds and it turned back on fine. I have over 2000 miles before the recommended oil change and a quarter tank of gas.also not sure if it is related but my husband's key fob will randomly not work. Today he got in my car with his keys and it wouldn't start until he pressed the fob to the start button then a light came on saying low oil pressure and it quickly went away. That light did not come on before or after that incident.
Ii bought a 2018 jeep renegade with a manual transmission in nov 2018. In jan 2019 the cruise control failed. I have had the vehicle in the shop 7 times since then for them to fix it. The 7th time they had it for 90 days and after consulting with jeep engineers in the u.s. And italy, where it is manufactured, they have concluded that they do not have a fix for the problem. Please see attached document for all the particulars. What is not noted are the other fixes they tried in prior visits, which was to replace the buttons on steering wheel, the wiring harness, and the actual cruise control unit. Since there is an internal memory fault with reading the speed sensor, i feel that this vehicle is unsafe to drive. Chrysler and the dealership are both refusing to buy the vehicle back.
My jeep keep stopping while driving i put vin # to see recall it's says no recalls but very dangerous to drive took it to dealer 2 times they says they can't find nothing wrong very stressful happen 3 times already 2018 keep renagade, please help before anyone get kill this is app unsafe
My 2018 jeep renegade keeps stalling out it shakes and then just cuts off the engine light recently came on i couldn't understand that so i took it to be checked and was told everything is fine on the truck and that it probably needed to be recalled i'm terrified to drive this vehicle in fear of crash it is my sole means of transportation and just want a great running vehicle that i'm paying for
The sky view roof 1 of 2 panels flew off while on the highway.
Windshield wiper fluid leaking and is now leaking throughout the car.. It is leaking around the electrical wires in the front drivers side of the car under the carpet. Audio light on in car and also a lot of electrical problems on drivers side door
Terrible.
The backup camera on my jeep only works about 30% of the time when you put it into reverse. After searching the internet, it seems many people are having the same problem. Https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/backup-camera-suddenly-stopped-working.7452/page-14
Windsheild cracks very easily i live in arizona all automobiles on the highway will have pebbles or small debris hit the windsheild. In the first week, i can tell by the sound but the smallest rock cracked my sheild. I took it in to hope the warranty would cover. They told me use my insurance and file a claim on the way home anther small rock hit my windsheild and i have anther crack. Ive owned many vehicles in arizona never hacve i have never seen a winshiled break so easily and if i get a claim submitted weekly my rates will go up... Eveytime i gofor a carwash there is several jeep renegades there getting there rock chips replaced or fixed.. Im very disappointed there is not a recall or there not trying to fix the problem if i search online there is several people who. Complain on blogs. But jeep refuses to admit theres an issue.
My new vehicle was delivered without a spare tire. There is only a fix a flat kit. A fix a flat kit will not "fix" a severely damaged tire. I'm told i can buy a spare tire kit for extra money. Spare tires should be required by law on every new car.
Continental sport 265/65/r16/ the tire bubbled and popped in the middle of the tread it separated with out any indication. When i started to get onto the interstate it ruptured without being punctured
No spare tire given no way to change tire if suffering flat tire or blowout
I have not had this vehicle for a year only have had it for at least 9 months now drove it off the lot brand new only 2 miles on it. My tires are horrible the tread is showing on all 4 tires not only that the suspension on the car is completely unaligned. I have not hit anything or had any accidents in the vehicle at all. This should not be happening. Not only that i took it back to the dealership and they won't do anything about it.
