The contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot fwd.while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, it lunged forward into oncoming traffic and crashed into another vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy at the time of impact.this is the second occurrence of the vehicle attempting to move while the brakes were depressed.a police report was filed.the failure and current mileages were 11,500.

My children and i were driving 75 mph on the freeway when my jeep patriot randomly shut off without warning, the the vehicle gave no indication whatsoever that there was an issue it just stop, the cars behind us started to steam on their brakes running off the road, we had to drive off the side off the road to prevent getting hit.it's was so terrifying .the police came and wanted to give us a ticket for wreck less operperation of a vehicle and though i was under the influence of something.i began to cry. It took 10 minutes to restart car.this happened again a couple hours later with no warning. When we got back from our trip we took it to ford marshall, nick mayerin mayfield ohio . It is documented there numerous times that this vehicle stalls randomly at high speeds but they cannot diagnosis the problem because the check engine light never comes on when this occurred and it is not sending a code to give them a diagnosis , so if they don't have a code , they can't warranty out the part to fix it for me to fix the issue. So then they send me home everythime and put me and my family in danger again.today my car stalled again right in front of a police car. I just sat there and cried

The vehicle stalls when idling during rain or wet conditions.

Just outside of warranty my wife's 2007 patriot 2.4l started to fail to start.it was verified that it was not the battery, pcv valve, starter, or a fuel issue.it would simply not start when left in the sun (in such as a parking lot).all of the accessories worked.it was towed to three different dealerships on separate occasions.no one could figure it out.i contacted chrysler and received a complaint number.chrysler reimbursed me for the things the dealerships charged me to replace and eventually said that they don't know what's wrong with it and couldn't fix the car.the shocks also failed prematurely at 40 thousand miles, and the cv joints are sealed units and failed prematurely.overall i am very dissatisfied with this car and chrysler jeep dodge.

After fueling with gas, my vehicle immediately stalled. It was then fine after i restarted it until i got to a roundabout where it stalled again, losing all power steering, brakes, power, speed, in heavy traffic. It was fine for a week after this until i got gas again, in which case, i was just about to enter the interstate when it stalled again, losing all of the basic functions again in rush hour traffic where i had to sit on the side of the road for 20 minutes while my vehicle ran and stalled repeatedly until it worked itself out. This is a very dangerous situation and could have been much worse had i already been on the interstate. This is a definite issue that needs to be taken seriously and fixed as i see i am not the only one that has had this issue. I got gas again last week where afterwards my jeep stalled on main street during lunch traffic. I shouldn't have to be scared to put gas in my vehicle in case it decides to stall in another dangerous situation. I am worried about my safety and any passengers i may have with me at any point in time when it stalls and stops working completely while i am driving down any road. I am also concerned that i will be doing more wear and tear damage on my battery and starter as i am trying to restart my vehicle after it stalls on these roads with minimum to no shoulders. Thank you for your immediate attention to this horrible issue.

Car is stalling when stopped at a red light, or waiting to make a turn. It shakes violently and if it is not given gas immediately after shaking begins, engine will cut out. I have almost been hit because i have to turn the key and re-start the car. This happens every single day at least 5 times a day. I have brought it to the jeep dealership twice and $900 later, they can not tell me what is wrong with my car. I have not noticed any change at all after having the car serviced.

The vehicle stalls when idling during rain or wet conditions.

Engine stalling when slowing down.

On several occasions my jeep patriot has stalled/cut off while driving it.

Since the first year that i bought this vehicle, the engine has stalled intermittently while driving! this happens without notice, no lights go on, not during bad weather, etc. This has happened 10-12 times over the past 4.5 years; sometimes at slow speeds but a few times on the freeways! each time i contact chrysler or my jeep dealership and have had it in the shop 6-7 times for weeks on end and each time they "cannot duplicate the problem" and send it back home with me with no results. The chrysler customer service department simply tells me to work with my dealership and the dealership keeps my car for a week and the same things happens weeks or months later. This is a huge safety hazard which could easily result in an accident with injuries or fatalities and jeep doesn't seem to care or know how to fix their own faulty vehicle. If i wasn't still paying for this car i would never set foot in it again but thus far, i am stuck in a death trap of a vehicle not knowing when the next time will be that i am driving and my car shuts down. The last incident was yesterday 01/17/2012 at aprox. 30 mph. I am so frustrated with this car and its manufacturers and thier lack of accountability. From reading this site and other jeep forums, this is not an isolated problem. Many other patriot owners have experienced the same problems and jeep has not helped any of us. I have kept all incidents well documented in the unfortunate case of an accident so that i have a chance to persue legal options and finally hold chrysler accountable.

Failure of stone guard causing damage to a/c condenser on a "trail rated" suv, truck is 80 days old .

June 26, 2007purchased new 2007 jeep patriot, and on june 29, 2007 -windshield washer fluid began spraying erratically . Also, when not engaged, headlights lights didn't always come on, and sometimes unable to disengage high beams.july 1 - took it to dealer for servicejuly 2 - contacted by dealer who said that they could not find a problem, but when we picked it up the windshield washer fluid would not work at all and the lights only came on intermittently....left at dealer july 3 - contacted by dealer who said that there was a tsb that they were previously unaware of and that they fixed the problem by "resetting a button"...we picked up car and 3 miles down the road washer fluid began to spray erratically so that we could not see out of the windshield...washer fluid would not turn off until car was turned off...dealer picked car up againjuly 6 - contacted by dealer who stated that they had replaced the multifunction switch and that the car was ready to be picked up...picked up car and checked function of the washer fluid - did not work at all.the vehicle is still at the dealer.we feel that these issues are a safety concern because you can not see out of the windown when the washer fluid engaged spontaneously, and the lights are erratic.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot fwd. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph she heard a loud noise. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the lower driver's side arm was loose and as a result, the arm, tires and wheel barring needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 55,000. The consumer stated the loud noise she heard was due to a problem with the transmission. The consumer has since traded the vehicle. Updated 07/17/12.

My 2007 jeep patriot 4wd classic has been stalling out on me constantly. Since i've purchased the vehicle i have experienced upwards of 5 full stall-outs at stop lights or stop signs and upwards of 50 surge like motions (feeling like it's close to stalling out on me) at stop lights and stop signs. Usually me and my passengers can feel it and as soon as i give it some gas the surge stops and everything is fine or the vehicle stalls completely. It sickens me to be paying for this fairly new vehicle and it's doing this.

Jeep 2007, standard.during an oil change told control arms and front ball joints worn , will need to replace them!have 47,000 miles on the jeep; am a conservative driver. Tires are worn; have always pulled to theside.shifting is horrible; slips into other gears.this suv is less than 3 years old. I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle.the jeep is a danger, unsafe, and should be off the market.in 2007 the patriot was not popular. The economy has led people to purchase this vehicle, my guess is that more complaints will be filed when their jeeps reach two years old.

The clutch master cylinder in my vehicle has gone bad. The part has been ordered but it is on back order across the united states. It will take a week for the part to be made and received to complete the repair. According to my repair technician, when trying to locate this part, it has been determined that this is a problem in jeeps across the nation. I have contacted jeep, and they are unwilling to look into or assist in the situation. My entire clutch system had to be replaced and the cost, at this point, is outrageous = $1315.92. Luckily, my vehicle was parked when it no longer would change gears, but i have children, and if the gears had locked up while the car was in motion, we would all be dead!

Light indicator for antilock brakes comes on and automatically feels different when driving. Water gets inside the car true the sun roof when closed.

Took my 2007 jeep patriot in for a oil change, was told thatthe tie rod's were very lose. The mechanic did not want me to drive it home for fear of the tie rods breaking lose and causing me to crash. My warranty has expired and i did not have the 700.00to fix it. Mechanic said this should not happen on a vehicle with only 55,000 miles on it.updated 11/01/11*ljthe lower control arm was also replaced. Updated 11/02/11

I am experiencing shaking in my steering (jeep patriot 2007) i was told that i needed to replace my control arm. I did some research and found that this seems to be a problem that jeep needs to address.i have had numerous alignments and tire replacements and that doesn't seem to help now i am greatly concerned about my safety. Will jeep recall this problem before someone gets hurt?

The contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot fwd. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, a loud noise was heard from the front end of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle for inspection by the dealer where they informed the contact that the tire rods and ball joints were failing and needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no known recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

2007 jeep patriot limited - stream of water leaking from dome lights and map lights, and also along the sides of the headliner in car.was advised possible kinked or clogged drainage tubes. Checked no kink, and when water was poured down directly into tubes, it drained with no clogs. Water running into radio/cd player. Electrical hazard. No solution being offered by jeep! many people have filed complaints but there has been no recall of any sort.

When parked in my driveway, at a slight incline, in the rain, the car leaks rain.the water fills the rear ceiling lamp and then spills out into the back of the vehicle.when significant rainfall occurs, the well for the spare tire has filled with several inches of water.this has created a situation for mold to grow, a mildewy smell, and i have concern about the water in the lamp.vehicle was brought to dealership after first occurance and was "fixed", but during the next storm, it happened again.it's currently at the dealership awaiting repair for the second time.first occurance: 12/18/07second occurance: 1/5/08.

Rain water leaks into the interior of the vehicle and finds its way down to thespare tire well which fills with several inches of water.mold and mildew form in that area.

My daughter's jeep has an extended warranty due to the rust and holes in the jeep's crossmembers.the gave me as reference x58.she needs them replaced as there are large holes in them, but the dealership told her if they couldn't get it off they would have to cut other parts and she would be responsible for the cost of the parts and labor (approximately $400) which the dealership said is typical. I've been in touch with customer service at jeep and they said she would first have to have the work done and then if there was a charge they would "consider" helping.so she would have to pay for the repair first.this hardly seems right.is there any recourse?

Lower arm/ball joint needed replacement at 19k miles and 26k miles.new tire wore out in 7k miles due to poor design.this is a known problem and canada requires jeep to replace it at their expense.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot. The contact stated the ball joints failed and the front wheels started shaking due to the failure. When the vehicle was placed on a lift to be inspected the ball joints on the front passenger side fell off. The contact was concerned about the safety issue. The current mileage and failure mileage was 68,716.

After blowing the right rear tire in a pot hole i went to a tire store to have a new tire put on and rotate all tires while there. The store manager showed me the ball joints on the front two tires were very loose. Only 19,000 miles on the jeep patriot 2007. Prior that i did not notice any change in the drive.

Creaking noise coming from front end od 2007 jeep patriot. Everyday for the past couple months. Lower control arm/ball joints and tie rod replaced.44,000 miles on a highway driven car.

2007 jeep patriot limited, fwd. At approx 47,000 miles the left front ball joint was worn and needed replacing.at 55,000 the right ball bearing was pitted and worn to the point of being dangerous, according to our mechanic.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot fwd.the contact stated that she was experiencing a recurring failure in which the passenger side ball joint would continuously need replacing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs and most recently, the contact was advised that the driver side ball joint would also need replacing. The manufacturer was made aware of the recurring failure but provided no assistance.the failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage 55,000.

2007 jeep patriot fwd - during a routine oil change they stated that the lower ball joint was showing wear and would need replaced soon.vehicle is only 3 years old, not taken "off roading" and only has 30,000 miles on it.i have searched and noted numerous others stating the same exact issues with the same exact model.where is the recall???of course the dealer says the vehicle is out of warranty by 3 months.you also can't just replace the ball joint you have to replace the control arm as its an assembly - and you have to replace both sides at the same time - holy money pit-!

I did some research and found that this seems to be a problem that jeep needs to address.i have had numerous alignments and tire replacements and that doesn't seem to help now i am greatly concerned about my safety. Will jeep recall this problem before someone gets hurt?

I took my jeep patriot in for a possible alignment issue to find that front ball joints needed to be replaced and my tires were worn down to the wire. These tires were not even a year old and back tires still look brand new. The tire shop said that this was incredibly unsafe and suggested it to be towed. The dealership acknowledged this to be a common problem for the jeep, but a non dealership mechanic told us this is not something that should happen to a vehicle only 4 years old with 65,000 miles. It angers me that there is not a recall because if i would have lost a tire the wreck could be deadly. This is a common jeep problem found on almost all jeep forums online.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot. While driving, the contact heard a noise near the passenger side front tire and the vehicle began pulling to the right.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the failure was caused by the front lower ball joint. The manufacturer will be contacted. The failure and the current mileages were 46,063.

Lower ball joint failure on both sides of my 2007 jeep patriot at 32k miles.. Only 6 weeks out of the 36 month warranty. It was not even safe to drive. Chrysler will do a good will assistance on this $1,200 repair by charging me only $250 since it was officially out of warranty. I had no choice as the car had to be repaired. But in my opinion, they are admitting an issue or they would have given me nothing.this is my second jeep that has experienced ball joint failure a very early mileage. My other jeep, a liberty, had a recall . Chrysler advises they do not have a recall on the patriot for this issue. Someone should be looking at this problem.if the ball joints failed on the highway, a terrible accident would have occurred. It took them forever to acknowledge the liberty ball joint issue. Please investigate.
