Consumer was driving company vehicles (jeeps), the 1st jeep experienced an accident due to fractured steering gear arm which was rusted, the 2nd jeep experienced loss of control due to stability problems, on both instances the shoulder belts did not restrain the driver sufficiently and air bags had been removed, the driver sustained injuries in both accidents. *mjs

The consumer stated the second time he attempted to change a tire, he used a 2 x4 to level out the jeep. However, the same issue occurred.

Letter from congressman runyan on behalf of constituent re an issue with chrysler jeep liberty (attn: kim cummings; burlington county office: mount laurel, nj)the consumer stated it was reported by the local news, the jeep liberty's can explode on rear end impact, and 54 deaths have been recorded to date. The gas tank was lower than the rear bumper and could explode on certain types of rear impact.the consumer would like assistance in getting chrysler to address the issue.

The no up-shifting, no resume auto stick function frequently caused him to take his eyes on the road, because of performing manual operations concerning auto-stick mode. The consumer stated the transmission did not up-shift automatically. It would not revert over to the transmission automatic drive position. It would stay locked into whatever shifted position the transmission downshfted to.

Her husband then turned the vehicle off and back on again and all of the lights on the dashboard illuminated. A tow truck had to be called. The sudden acceleration happened for a second time.
