My car emergency brake light button has turned on all byitself while i am driving. The car stops and shuts off. Then i am in the middle of the road and i have to put my car in park, press the pull on p button to turn it off. This is a safety issue. A car behind can crash into me. This has happened 5 times since february, this morning was my 6 time. I do not feel safe in my car anymore, afraid of turning off while i am driving
I traveling at a speed of approximately 55mph when a deer jumped onto the road. I hit the deer smashing the front end of my 2107 jeep compass. Most of the damage is on the drivers side front end & drivers side front quarter panel. My vehicle shut down however i was surprised after hitting the deer that my air bag did not deploy.
I ran a stoplight and hit another vehicle going 25-35 mph. My airbags did not deploy. The point of impact was drivers side front.
Driver side impact. Side airbags did not deploy.

Car shuts off when coming to a stop when the auto off/on is turned off. Engine light finally started coming on but did not at first. After restarting the car and trying to pull out it dies again sometimes leaving you in the middle of an intersection. I got stranded for about 20 minutes when it shut off. Eventually i was able to get it restarted and get home with it. Not sure if this is related but when turning i can hear a "ding" like a bell. There was also a light that came on which looked like a lightening bolt. I bought the car used and it has always seemed like the idol was set a little to low as it doesn't really move when you take your foot off the brake. Also, when the engine went off the instrument on the dash seemed to think the car was still operational. It wouldn't shut off like if you came home and shut the engine off.
Since i've had my car the main screen with maps, weather, radio, etc. Has shut off randomly, my speakers have turned up to the max they could go all by themselves without letting me turn anything off, the weather constantly pops up after i've cleared it. All of this was fixed with replacing the whole screen. But then after the system would not save my setting for the first 5 times i started it back up. I had to keep saving them. It has had multiple issues, i've had to get different tires replaced at least 3-4 times and air leaks, the last being because the belt broke in them. I have an appointment to get my front usb replaced because it randomly stopped working. I've had to get other parts replaced that control my driving and now it won't start. The lights, radio, gauges, etc. All work but the gauges make a tick sound but the engine won't start. There has been two times that it says my car is running but the engine isn't on. I've had my side lights that come on when i turn randomly not work but i'm not sure if that is something i'm doing. I have to read the manual more.
Car stalled 4 times in the last 4 months while at stop lights.i was stopped at light and when i went to move again the car stalled-all panel lights flashed and car wouldnot turn on again. After multiple attempts the car finally started.after the most recent occurrence i drove immediately to the nearestmidas because oi was afraid to drive it any farther. They ran diagnostics and couldnot find a definitive answer. The battery was fine.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that there was an internal electrical failure and the vehicle stalled several times. In addition, there was a loss of engine power and the gear independently shifted into neutral while the vehicle was in operation. The contact stated that various unknown warning indicators flickered and flashed during the failure. Antwerpen chrysler jeep (6440 baltimore national pike, baltimore, md 21228, (410) 788-2973) was notified of the failure. The failure recurred and the battery was replaced. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 17v301000 (power train); however, the dealer and manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.
Car won't start changed the battery worked for a day then had a clicking nose like battery was dead. Charged it cranked up lasted a day stopped again.
Takata recall , in the middle of driving all my warning lights on my dash went off and the car cut my fuel service off, leaving me unable to accelerate, i pulled over in a parking and the steering wheel locked up, i turned the car off and couldn't start it back up as the brake pedal was locked also. I have had this problem numerous times and visited the dealership plenty times and they aren't able to diagnose a real problem , it's a recurring problem. A new computer was put in it also and i still have problems.
On 1/12/18 my vehicle would not start so i called for a tow to take to the dealership auto center they said it was a wire that was burnt that connects to the steering. Received it a couple days later the next day it would not start after 5 hours of waiting on a tow it started up and i drove it straight to the dealership. When they called the module was going out it got replaced and i was able to get the car back. The next day the car would not start again i kept playing with the ignition back and forth to see would it start nothing. Again requested a tow none came. By the time i was leaving for work i tried again it started i took it back to the dealership. They kept it for a few days and nothing was coming up on the machine. I drove it for a week or so and on 2/6/18 the vehicle would not start up after i had just got out of it from running errands and a few occasions i felt the steering wheel tighten and was hard to turn. Those times i was parked on parked on the streets but on feb 6 i parked a few inches by the fire hydrant ran into the house to take the groceries and come out to move the vehicle it would not start. On all occasions it was not any lights on the dashboard and everything was work except the ignition would not start.
Short version: i used the remote starter on my compass. As i was driving, i noticed a small red light between my windshield and dashboard. The red light turned into a very small bright orange flame. When i stopped the car it was gone. I checked with a flashlight and saw burn mark's on both the windshield and dashboard. When i started the vehicle without the remote starter nothing happened. But than when i tried with the remote starter again. It began to burn again and this time there was smoke. Dealership told me that it was the program in the remote starter that caused the issue but it is not covered under my extended warranty. And due to the mileage of the vehicle the regular warranty expired. Fiat chrysler has agreed with the dealership. The dealership states that the vehicle is safe to drive because they removed the power supply fuse and the 30 amp fuse from power supply circuit and down circuit.
The contact leased a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that the steering wheel made an abnormal clicking noise. The steering wheel was replaced; however, the failure continued with the steering wheel being structurally unsound. In addition, the fuel gauge failed to provide a proper reading. The gauge indicated that it was empty when there was fuel in the fuel tank and vice versa. The vehicle was not repaired after it was taken back and forth to manhattan jeep (629 w 54th st, new york, ny 10019, 1-(877) 225-8709). The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 10.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The power steering, brakes, and all electrical and mechanical functions failed to operate. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after approximately four attempts. The vehicle was taken to atlantic dodge chrysler jeep ram (located at 2330 us-1, st, augustine, fl 32086, (904) 797-4383) where it was diagnosed that there may be bad fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was refueled; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for another diagnostic test. The contact was informed that the oil was below the minimum oil level. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000. Consumer stated that the oil be checked once a week by the dealer. Consumer stated there are no warningsor warnign lights to indicate the problem client is checking the oil consistently 1 quart low for every 2000 miles.
Jeep is brand new, has 1700 miles on it. Without warning, heat turns on full speed out the vents, can not turn off, turn signals do not work, rear camera and park assist disabled, 4 wheel drive inoperable, instrument cluster inoperable, radio inoperable. Out door temperature reads 3 dashes.hazard lights inoperable. Odometer flashing. Problem will go away for 30 seconds, than comes right back.check engine light on, blower fan and blend door codes.this happens while vehicle is in motion. Regardless of when and where.odor of burning electrical/wires came out of vents.
When you park the jeep and turn it off the starter keeps clicking like it is trying to start the radio comes on with no body in jeep when it is off and it all this makes the battery go dead
Purchased dec 2017. Almost immediately began experiencing a problem whenever the speedometer dropped to 31 mph, there was an aggressive downshift that felt as if i was being rear ended.problem frequent yetintermittent. Often radio would not turn on or off when the engine was on or off. Fear of battery draining was often. Loss of volume control when vehicle was parked.. Each month, random errors would flash. By july 3, it had become so frequent withshifting problems and problems with lighting, windows, sunroof, it was taken to collierville cdjr for service. That day all the codes started flashing across dash while vehicle was in motion on highway. There were 4 pages of diagnostic error codes. Tech erik jeter said a tcm flash update was available for transmission shift quality. Must update pcm and tcm also. There were multiple dtcs for all turn signals and lamps. Determined cause to be faulty body control module and internal failure. This was allegedly replaced, despite being originally told of a recall and backorder of parts that could last 6 months. Car out of service for 10 days. Problems began again within a week of vehicles return. It was taken to landers cdjr for service on august 9, 2018.i have not heard back from dealer.then the backup cameras began freezing and would stay while car in motion.windows stopped working. On september 1, 2018 my vehicle was found to be sitting behind the service department along side more than a dozen other new jeep compass vehicles with stop sale/do not sell written across windows. It has been a total of 35 days out of service.this vehicle needs to be declared a lemon so i can replace it with a working car.
I had a safety issue with my 2017 jeep compass that i am currently leasing. The car would stop and shut down on its own without warning or any lights turning on. It had to do with the parking brake as well. When i brought it to the north haven, ct dealership to get fixed, they said they were unable to fix it and had to contact chrysler. Chrysler told them what to do. The dealership did as told and it resolved the issue--something about the battery. When i was informed about what happened, i asked why there was no warning or check engine light going off alerting me that something was not right. The person at the dealership said 'well once you notice things aren't working well, then it's probably a battery issue. Bring it back in.' how is this acceptable? there is no warning that my car is going to just stop as i am driving. I just have to wait until other things go wrong to determine if it is maybe a battery issue? that is unheard of. The dealership had my car for almost a week, did not give me a loaner, but said i could rent a car at a low cost. Rent a car? i am not going to pay money for a car when mine is still under warranty. And when asked if there was a recall regarding this issue, the person at the dealership said 'no, they only do recalls when it is a safety issue.' so when my jeep automatically shut down on a road with a speed limit of 55, that's not a safety issue? i am completely unsatisfied with my experience resolving this issue, and to be honest, i cannot say that it is resolved because there will be no warning as to whether or not it is going to happen again. The product is not safe apparently because there is no indication as to when the battery needed to be serviced. When i went to the dealership and requestedsafer car, the manager said they could not do anything, accepting the fact that i drive an unsafe car.
After coming to complete stop, car engine shuts off due to start/stop system. When releasing break car cannot start back up, all lights turn on, emergency break is automatically enabled and stalls. I have to put the car in park, turn off (even though engine is not running) and turn back on and remove the emergency break before i can accelerate. This has happened on busy intersections and is a big safety hazard. I have taken vehicle to dealership and they stated the battery was bad. Battery was replaced but the issue is now more frequent.
Uconnect display has frozen on multiple occasions for extended period of time. Turning car off then back on only resolved the situation half of the time, hard restarts required the other times. After 4th freezing, dealer finally replaced entire uconnect system.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle stalled and several warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to south oak jeep, dodge, chrysler, and ram (4550 w lincoln hwy, matteson, il 60443, 708-747-7950) where it was diagnosed that the computer needed to be updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
My 2019 jeep compass has had numerous safety concerns, especially related to the engine and the push-to-start feature. Most recently, i have been in (d) drive, both stationary (i.e at a red light) or in motion (i.e highway, main road, side street, rotary) and both on a city street and highway when the vehicle's dashboard alerts me to shift the car into the (p) park gear. I can feel the car start to decelerate when it send this message. First, i shift the car into the desired gear (p), then brake locks itself so that i am unable to use to push-to-start feature and place the car back into drive. This has happened to me 4x/more. I have had my car in the service center at the dealership twice for the issue and they are unable to find the actual problem. It seems to me that it is the engine/push-to-start feature. In 2017 i had a defective battery and the car acted very similar, so i am thinking it may be the battery again. I filed a claim/case with jeep today. I am awaiting proper documentation from the service center in terms of invoices. My life is at risk due to this huge safety issue.
For the third time the since nov 13 the auto-start failed to restart after the engine was stopped during a braked idle (waiting at light or waiting to turn).the first time the auto-start batteries and fuse were replaced.the second time the whole auto-start control module was replaced.i;m waiting for feedback from the dealership today on their findings.the failure has left me stranded 3x in heavy/rush hour traffic in conditions very dangerous to myself, my passengers and other drivers.
Had car 3 weeks 214 miles, when starting vehicle -check engine light came on.dealerstates computer control module malfunction , now 31 days later no fix chrysler has determined car to be declared a lemon.dealer states can be 4 weeks before replacement vehicle. Dealer has treated us well, been in a loaner for the 31 days will have loaner until new vehicle obtained.
I could not start my jeep friday morning by pushing ignition button. The dashboard and lights all came on but the jeep wouldn't turn over. Yes, my foot was on the brakes, tank has gas, door was closed. After 3 failed attempts i got out of the car and tried starting jeep with my key fob, no luck. Looked inside dash and it read auto start disabled. I tried turning off jeep since the dashboard and lights were still on and no luck, they stayed on. My neighbor drove me to my orthopedic surgeon appt. When we returned, the jeep was still on and my family showed up trying the following: change batteries to key fob. Checked cables and car battery. After those things the dashboard read "put car in park" my car of course was in park. I couldn't get it out of park since it never started!!! i bought at a dealership in mobile al when i lived in biloxi. Can't take it back to that dealership until after hip surgery here in florida's va. Please advise. Thank you, [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Takata recall, bought the car in april 2018 and after 2 months i started experiencing a strange kick coming from the engine while driving, i took it numerous times to the jeep dealership and could never find the problem until 7 months later when it statted to do it kore often. After some research and talking to other jeep owners with the same car i found out it was a manufacturer defect. Unfortunately, by the time the dealership realized it was a defect, my warranty had expired. 2 days ago, my car completely went out and didn't turn on, i had to tow it to the dealership and now i am being charged over two-thousand dollars to get an electrical problem fixed. On too of making my monthly payments, i have to pay out of pocket for a lemon vehicle i purchased.
While driving i got a code on the car dash that read something like 'unable to drive' then as turning the bend in road at 20/25mph the car started pulling to left steering the wheel became too hard and i heard a snap noise turns out my ball joint snapped on the jeep! over 5000 in damage and it was not due to impact! it snapped clean off then ended up causing my to swop a parked car. Thankfully wasn't on highway your 2017 compasses have severe electrical issues the car doesn't go right away when shifted to desired gear and on top of it all your ball joints are faulty! claim responsibility and recall this i've seen a lot of open source reporting of the same issue. Please do not wait until a mortality occurs for you to do something! assemble these care correctly!!! i will not be buying or driving another jeep again the new model compasses aren't safe for anyone. Oddly prior to the accident the car has been at jim shorkey dealership every 2 months or so for some repair from sway bars to tire rods and everything else. Less than 26,000 miles on it. Scheduled an appt to take it to the dealer last thursday the appointment was scheduled for tuesday 3/17 but the accident ended up occurring 3/14... Only if the dealer had let me bring it sooner this wouldn't have happened.
02/05/2018......bought the vehicle november 2017.twice already while driving on the highway through rush hour traffic the dash display started flashing erratically and the car lost all power, a total shut down.no radio, no dash, no brakes, no steering.luckily traffic was moving each time.after approximately a city block the car restarts.dealer tested the car and could not replicate the problem after driving it 20 miles with a computer connected.i feel this can be life threatening and should be investigated before the inevitable happens.i have 2 small children and my wife with me most of the time.they recommend driving it to see if it happens again.i'm no longer comfortable driving this vehicle.
Uconnect display has frozen on multiple occasions for extended period of time. Turning car off then back on only resolved the situation half of the time, hard restarts required the other times.
The vehicle was stopped at a stoplight on a city expressway and when the light turned green the stop/start system failed to restart the engine. It engaged the parking brake in the middle of the road and would not allow me to immediately restart the car. After several attempts to restart the car with traffic flying by me i was finally able to restart the car and disengage the parking break. This has happened multiple times and my dealership says they will not fix it because they are waiting to receive a stop start battery from mopar. It has been on backorder for a month and they dont have a date when it will be fixed. This keeps happening at least once a week and they do nothing to correct the problem. The problem is with the start/stop system made to conserve gas. The system should not leave you stranded in the middle of busy roads where someone can slam into the back of you.
The start/stop feature causes my car to stall. The emergency brake would automatically get enabled and i basically can't get my car to move until i put my car in park, disable to the emergency brake and turn my car on and off. This feature is such an inconvenience due to the chance of stalling at every stop light/intersection. This increases the chances of getting rear ended.in addition, today my front collision warning + brakes got activated while i was in motion without anything in front of me. Again, another possibility of getting rear ended.
Car will not start. Starts and then shuts off. Not battery related.
The contact owned a 2017 jeep compass. While driving approximately 65 mph, the computer system shut off while the vehicle was still running. The computer system rebooted and a "stop the vehicle" warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that various other unknown warning indicators also illuminated. The contact stopped the vehicle and almost immediately observed smoke outside the vehicle followed by flames from the driver's side of the windshield. The contact used an instrument to break the driver's side door and escaped from the burning vehicle. Within two minutes, the entire vehicle became engulfed in flames. Fire and police reports were filed. The contact sustained injuries that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The contact called an unknown dealer who did not want to be involved. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the matter was referred to their legal team and the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. Owner states that during the event, lost braking but was able to use the shifter (electronic, polystable) to downshift the car to slow down. Owner states that "computer" rebooted,as it had done before. Most likely referencing the vehicle's infotainment system. Owner states that he used a glass punch to break the drivers side window and exit the vehicle. 12,000 miles according to the owner. Updated 10/30/18
My car is having the exact issue described by investigation/recall 17v740000. However, i am not included in the recall. Potentially the recall is not including all affected cars.
In very hot temperatures after car has been off. The temperature control resets itself to hi heat/defrost when restarted, even tho it was set on lo air when vehicle was turned off. Screen has also gone black with no radio or back up camera. Takes a few restarts to fix.
Auto stop failed to restart vehicle while stopped at stop light. Parking brake engaged and car was unable to move. Had to put car in park and turn off vehicle. Then had to restart to continue driving.
4 separate time in less than 2 weeks my car completely stopped while i was driving. 2 times while driving to my job in city streets . And 2 times driving on a highway. This is very dangerous
Vehicle has been in the shop four times. All have been control module related. We lose all exterior lights. Vehicle will randomly shut off while in drive. Now we are having an issue with the vehicle not accelerating and is idling rough. All of these happened while the vehicle was in motion. This has been over a span of the past year.
Remote start began failing then wouldn't even start with key.had to replace starter due to where starter is located it gets so hot it fried the wiring.mechanic stated due to where the starter is located, i will probably have to replace it every year or two.very poor design.
My jeep compass is having issues starting. I have had to take it to the mechanic twice in the past 3 weeks because it keeps not starting!i've tried jumping the battery and nothing.if it sits just one day without it being started, it will go completely dead and won't take a jump.as of right now, my mechanic doesn't even know what's wrong.
When putting the car in reverse it would go straight untill it kicked back in gear. On highway gear switched on its own slowed down and kicked back in. I could of got in s major accident. I just brought the car on 01/17/2020
1.mileage 214 - driving car on city street, screen system went out - heat, back up camera, radio, etc.2.mileage 887 - driving car - in drive, but just barely so because had backed out of parking spot and was only a few feet from where put into drive - car suddenly lurches and stops. Towed to dealer.found "rubbed through wiring" in transmission harness.3. Mileage 1632 - same as problem 1. Found to be internal defect, replaced radio/telematics gateway module.4. Mileage 3329 - driving in stop and go traffic in city on a city street (not highway), stop in line of traffic.auto/start/stop engages to stop engine.when foot lifted from brake, car won't start back up.error code for stop/start. Turn car completely off and on, engine turns over, but error code remains.in shop for this now.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving between 25-30 mph, the emergency brake indicator illuminated. The contact stated that all the instrument panel indicators illuminated and she was instructed to park and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to sansone chrysler jeep dodge (90-100 us-1, avenel, nj 07001), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000. The vin was not provided.
My 2017 jeep compass is very faulty and has been in the dealership maintenance area for the same issue multiple times.i have attached supporting documentation of the three different times in the shop for the same/similar issues.the following concerns are included in this documentation: (1) the vehicle turned off while in motion driving on a city street, the parking break engaged and prevented the vehicle from moving further in the middle of the city street.(2) the vehicle refused to start when parked in a garage.once pressing the start button multiple times, the vehicle started and multiple service lights came on, including "service esp" and "service 4wd".this has happened multiple times over the life of owning the vehicle (only 23 months and about 18,000 miles).i have included two service records (the first time and most recent time it was taken to the dealership), i do not have the third record with me as the vehicle is in for maintenance currently and the other invoice is in the vehicle, however you can see record of the second visit in the record from 4/9/2019.i am concerned for my safety and the safety of other drivers given my history with my vehicle and hope to get this permanently fixed instead of putting a band aid on it as the dealership has done. *dt
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While exiting the highway at 45 mph, the vehicle lost electrical power and the headlights dimmed. The contact pulled the vehicle over and the electricity automatically returned. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (suburban chrysler dodge jeep, 32850 ford rd, garden city, mi 48135), but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified and confirmed what the dealer stated. There were no recalls associated with the vehicle. The failure mileage was 8,000.
Takata recall: burning plastic smell while in motion. Found burn hole in the passenger side leather seat.
I purchased my 2017 jeep compass trail hawk brand new, my production date is april 26, 2017. I have had endless issues w/ this vehicle, i have owned other jeeps and never had these issues. It started w/ my radio making this crazy indescribably loud sound along w/ freezing the screen. Turning off the radio would not stop the sound, not even turning off the entire vehicle would stop the sound. Serv dept could never replicate, i brought it in one time when radio was on a non-existent phone call and acting up. They took my car and turned it off, next day told me they couldn't replicate. I demanded that the girl who took my car in and saw what was going on speak with the tech to explain what she saw. They agreed to order me a new radio. Additionally i began having issues w/ jeep throwing on random dash indicator lights and not starting. Tcm pin was spreading and causing indicators b battery controlling stop/start tested bad. They replaced. I had already replaced my a battery a day or so before. Damage wires found at fuse box (they blamed me) i have made zero mods to car or even lifted the hood myself. Bcm replaced. I had issue w/ engine cutting off while driving in road & pulling ebrake before i'm due for oil change. Had oil consumption test done and they say it's fine, this is because chrysler makes up the consumption standard. So you will always be "fine." this it to prevent you from getting to compression test. I go in many times for this same issue. Eventually, i demandwith fca that they allow compression test and replace my engine when they discover it's due to oil consump. Tech reports oil low, sprk plug cyl 3 is oil fouled, compress. Test done air is felt from oil fill, bore scope of cyl 3 walls are scored and have oil on them. Fca approves new engine for me. After new eng. I drive 13 mi eng is over heating. T-stat clamp replaced. Do not give up& document well!
Uconnect display has frozen on multiple occasions for extended period of time. Turning car off then back on only resolved the situation half of the time, hard restarts required the other times.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving between 20-25 mph, the emergency brake erroneously self activated abruptly and stopped the vehicle. In addition, the electrical system malfunctioned and caused the instrument gauges to stop operating and the interior lighting remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to putnam jeep/chrysler in burlingame, ca who indicated that the failures were due to a computer software update issue. The computer software was updated, but the failures continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 400.
Start/stop system stopped working and then burned out regular battery, preventing car from starting. System continues to operate intermittently, stopping the car when its not fully warmed up and other times not stopping the car when the car is fully warmed up.
Every 25-30 engine starts the climate control system resets itself and although the vehicle says the air is on it blows hot air for approximately 30 minutes or until you reach a minimum speed of 60 mph before the vehicle kicks over to air. While the heat blows (with ac button lit up) other climate controls cannot be used such as defrost. In addition to this issue, other electrical issues have been recognized such as the dash screen shutting down or restarting while driving and back up cam going black or freezing. Spoke with jeep customer service today who says the climate control malfunction is a known issue to them but there is no fix at this time.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving 10 mph, the rear doors opened and a burning odor emitted from the vents without warning. The vehicle was taken to manhattan jeep (629 w 54th st, new york, ny 10019, (877) 225-8709) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 48,000. The vin was invalid.
2017 jeep compass. Consumer writes in regards to brakes locking up while driving. *asthe consumer stated the vehicle experienced various electrical issues including the back up camera remaining on at all times, the locks were inoperable, the vehicle would not operate while the key fob in the vehicle, the vehicle would start and shut off with the radio still on and can shift, but not move, and the vehicle would randomly not communicate with the key fob.also, the emergency brake automatically turned off, there was hesitation in the shifting, and the vehicle would inadvertently brake while reversing or driving forward.
2nd time this happened within amonth. Dealer changed batteries 1st time. Computer system runs through a number of messages stating various settings are not working. Example: engine light, air bag, oil, with every warning light there is. Vehicle just shut down on a busy road. Very dangerous. 15 min later it started back up like there wasnt a problem. There is excess oil use also. Changed oil, a month later, its a 1/4 low. No drips either. This should not be happening for a vehicle that is only 3 years old.
Issue related to recall t70 continues after update and testing. Dash will properly dim if the car is turned on at night. However, if the car is on and i open my door, temporarily turn on cabin lights, or drive temporarily in bright environment (eg. Tunnel), my dash will become bright and stay bright. This has already been identified as violation of federal safety regulations with recall t70 or 17v-740
This has happened on multiple occurrences. The vehicle is off for max of 3 hour period. Upon starting vehicle to drive, it runs idle and engine will not turn over. The computer system runs through a number of messages stating various settings are not working. Check engine light is on. Driver's side can't control passenger side functions. Clicking sounds heard from underneath vehicle. Fog lights remain on and blind spot lights on side mirrors remain on. Vehicle will not turn off.
The radio/navigation system seems to have a mind of it's own. First, the radio screen has been slowly separating from the radio, which hasn't affected the use of the touch screen usage.it is about half way separated. All of a sudden we find the unit changing our radio stations using our presets and manually entering in digits; it scrolls through the air conditioning vent options and stops on any one of them randomly; it has selected the uconnect app trying to load some application that isn't loaded; it has selected to turn on the heated steering wheel; it has selected to turn on either seat's heater and then off again, then both, etc.; it has selected the navigation and routed to different locations and started the navigation all on it's own; on one drive, while in motion, this summer when 100 deg outside, it has turned the heater all the way up and then locked the screen so we couldn't change it back. On this one, it nearly caused an accident! my has had a stroke before and can't take the heat. When it wouldn't let her change it back to air conditioning she nearly passed out trying to get out of traffic and to the side of the road. It wouldn't even let her use the manual knobs to control the air conditioning. They were locked. Even when turning car off and then back on didn't help initially. It took 3 times until it let her adjust it. These happenings are random; some happening more than others and sometimes not at all. It happens at any point, in motion or sitting still; city, highway, turning, straight; it doesn't matter to it. This happens at least daily and will start and stop at random times. Most of the time it doesn't stop until you cut the car off. This is a safety issue in so many ways. I have videos that shows this, but can't upload a video.
Engine has excessive oil consumption which causes the vehicle to just stall out. Recommended 5000 oil changes but dealers will say 3000 and to check oil every 2 days because it may need 4-5 qts between oil changes. This started within 5 months of driving it off the showroom floor. Dealer and chrysler corp are aware of issues but no fix has been discovered not do they care. My daughter and her 2 babies were almost killed when it just stalled exiting a major freeway and an 18 wheeler right behind her...case manager (3rd case since 2017) at fca was 'oh, so scary'. This is a serious, deadly issue and dealers omit things from the system, perform the consumption tests improperly or don't record them at all so they will not have to do what's right.the vehicle will totally shut down while turning, emergency brake will apply and it takes a bit to get it started again. Sometimes lights on dash will all flash on or sometimes just the oil light (even within 2 weeks of an oil change).
The vehicle has been in motion every occurrence and happened on a highway. The jeep has shut off while i was driving. I had the automatic off turned off and when i stopped at a stop light the jeep powered down, dash and lights went crazy, and my jeep would not start back up. It took over 5 minutes to get the jeep to come back on. There is also a popping noise and a very hard shift at times. When this hard shift occurs it pulls my jeep to the right, i have had it in the shop several times this year and they cannot figure out the problem. They thought changing my shocks would help but it has not. There is still a popping sound when i hit a certain speed and then it is still shifting extremely hard randomly and jerks the whole jeep when it happens. It has almost caused me to wreck a couple times especially when i am in a right handed curve and this occurs; it caused me to go off road when i took a right handed curve and it occurred. This has been happening since april 2018, and i have had it in the shop several times. This has been an ongoing thing now i do not have the files with me today at work, but i do have them at home. I can upload the documentation at a later date.unsure of exact date.
Multiple electrical issues for the last 2 years. Most notably is when i start the car the temperature resets itself to the opposite of what it was. I.e. Turned car off with temp lo and reset itself to hi. Taken it to the dealership who states they can't replicate this at all. This still happens with no resolve. Now i receive dash messages stating multiple lights don't work such as the brake lights however they are perfectly fine. Other messages have flashed but then disappear. Also issues with the usb and uconnect. Usb has been replaced due to being loose but now as i drive the usb cuts in and out. Also have been told they cannot replicate this issue.many of these issues started 6 months after purchasing the vehicle and still persist to this day.
I boughtmy car in 2018 brand new with less than 10 miles.in the first few months, it required a brand new radio system and rear camera replacement.in some months following that, i have had my car stop on me while driving, approximately 4-5 times with only excuses as to why the car would unsafely do this.first time was an update that needed to be done.second time was the keyfob battery but accused it of being lack of oil changes (i don't need to go to the dealership for oil changes). Next, was no explanation at all.last was yesterday when it died twice in one day in the middle of the road.they called to let me know that it probably is because my oil is 3/4 way depleted even though i had an oil change done less than 3k miles ago.their suggestion is that i return every 500 miles so they can top me off if the oil seems to be an issue.these are thankfully in less busy streets mostly driving straight but once while turning.once included an error code that i was told was an electrical system error but it didnt register.i have pictures and videos on my phone from the incidents.i have also written to the ceo of jeep, attorney general and will be contacting an attorney from an article i found on this issue from april of 2019.my photos and videos will not send and upload.
The lights on my instrument cluster panel are not adjustable with the light adjustment wheel. When driving at night the instrument cluster is bright making it difficult to see out. (i just purchased the vehicle).
The ess system activated when i stopped for a red light. When the light changed and i let go the break, the engine sputtered and the emergency break turned itself on, the wheel became very stiff and the breaks became very hard to press, cause me to roll forward when i tried stopping. The only way i could regain full control was to restart the car while i was in the middle of an intersection.
I am still in shock and still quite shaken up on the morning of tues., 9/25/2018, when as usual got out of my home into my jeep to go to work a few minutes before 6 am. I carefully at the entrance and exit of my community, i wait for ongoing traffic to be far enough for me to drive towards the blvd. As my jeep started towards part of the boulevard all of sudden, the engine stopped as i did not press the bypass button so the jeep went into sleep mode, when i pressed the button, it read," put vehicle on parking mode to restart". My heart almost came out of my mouth because if there was traffic on my left i definitely would have been killed by the oncoming traffic that was heading towards me from the left, i placed the jeep in park, i then placed it on drive and headed to the divider of the intersection. In tears, i turned back home and left the jeep in the driveway. I called greenway immediately to report the incident. I have a copy of my conversation with the greenway dodge, chyrsler, jeep and ram service operator on tuesday, september 25, 2018,. A service appt was set for 9/29/18,at greenway. My husband and i were told by service tech that there was no bypass interception to remove the feature from the jeep shutting down the enginewhile in a drive mode. I do not feel safe driving this jeep & that i would not go through what i went through on that morning. I am alive to tell everyone of what happened to me and not got killed due to the special feature this jeep has to conserve gas. The engine just shuts down while in a drive mode. We were told that there was no bypass interception to remove the feature from the vehicle going into a pause mode when waiting for the light to change, or when there is traffic jeep completely stales when in drive mode. I am the owner of the vehicle and wish to surrender my jeep because i no longer feel safe driving it.
Total electrical failure on the highway, no stability control, hvac, turn signals, hazzard lights, 4wd, every electrical item malfunctions, just the engine runs but all instrumentation and electrical accessory stop working in the middle of driving.
My jeep dashboard lights come on car starts to stall not picking up speed then after a 30-40 seconds it pick back up with engine and lighting vault light wont go off. I first time it occurred i was in motion on city streets doing speed limit of 50 mph an i instantly had to pull over when it was clear cut it off then started it back up cause i could not miss work.

4 separate time in less than 2 weeks my car completely stopped while i was driving. 2 times while driving to my job in city streets . And 2 times driving on a highway. This is very dangerous
As i was driving on an 8 lane expressway my vehicle experienced an engine stall while driving. I immeditaely tunred on my hazard lights to alert other drivers and crossed 7 lanes to come to a complete stop as i could no longer accelerate. I turned off my vehicle, turned to the on position to allow all dahsboard lights to turn off and then off. I turned my vehicle back on and continued to drive to my desitnation but this time when it happened i just was going up a hill, cars in front and behind me i was right in the middle of the intersection with another engine stall while driving. I need to be added to the manufactures list of the know defect of their voluntary recall they initatiated. My car is not safe to drive and becuase this is intermittent i can not recreate this issue at the dealership. I am not on the list of a recall even though i am having engine stalls while driving. *'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

I came down a hill in my neighborhood, street then became level and i came to stop sign,i stopped and my engine died and my emergency brake came on. I had to remove foot from brake, put back on brake, restart engine and then i could disengage emergency brake. Dealer is telling me this because it was low on oil. But i wasn't even due for a few hundred miles for an oil change.
My vehicle has 15562 miles on it and is 400 miles from it's oil change. When driving vehicle on neighborhood streets it would randomly stall and shut off causing a loss of power steering and vehicle acceleration.when we arrived home we did a once over on the engine and the oil dip stick was bone dry. We called our local dealership and they mentioned that they had seen several jeep compasses with the same issue.*dtconsumer stated our vehicle was about 300 miles shy of the 5000 mile suggested oil change from jiffy lube (per mfg's spec). So 4700 miles since previous oil change.
My low oil pressure light came on. I took it to get the oil changed as it was due for an oil change anyway. They told me my oil level was 3.5 quarts low and that i needed to take the car to the dealership to have it looked at because it shouldn't be using that much oil between regular oil changes. I took it to jeep where they didn't even look at the vehicle and just told me that this engine is known to burn that much oil between oil changes and jeep deems it as 'acceptable' because the owners manuel states to check oil levels at every fill up and add oil as needed to maintain a safe oil level. How is it even acceptable for a brand new 2017 vehicle to burn 3.5 quarts of oil between regular oil changes? why does jeep find it acceptable that i need to carry oil around in my car 'just in case' it gets low? why are they not fixing this issue?!
The vehical (2017 jeep compass trailhawk) automatically shut down and inhaled the parking break while the car was in motion on a busy street without any indication of an issue by the dashboard. The vehical took several attempts to turn back on. Once it was back on, i was able to get the vehical to the dealership and they indicated that the oil level was at the bottom of the dip stick. The vehical wasn't at its required oil change yet and no indication of low oil or low oil pressure was indicated to me through its safety system.
My daughter purchased a brand new 2017 jeep compass from papas dodge in new britain, ct. The stop/start feature on this vehicle intermittently fails. When this occurs the vehicle is in motion and the engine stalls causing loss of steering and brakes. The dealer apparently can not emulate the problem but they do not drive it on a daily basis. My daughter is terrified to drive this car and was almost in an accident as a result. Also, this vehicle has excessive oil consumption. Have to add 1 1/2 quart between oil changes.
Threetimes now the auto/start stop feature has failed to restart the vehicle after it has automatically shut off.when lifting my foot off the brake pedal, the vehicle hasn't restarted.once i was in the middle of traffic, waiting to turn left against oncoming traffic, so it was a dangerous situation.it took 15 seconds or so before i could restart it after placing the vehicle in park.
Vehicle shuts down while operating.took it to the dealer and the dealer said it uses a quart of oil every 500 miles thereby by causing engine to shut down during operation.dealer stated chrysler is aware of problem and no solutions have been provided yet.dealer also stated to get an oil change every 3000 miles.this vehicle has 33,720 miles and was purchased jun 2017.
When putting the car in reverse it would go straight untill it kicked back in gear. On highway gear switched on its own slowed down and kicked back in. I could of got in s major accident. I just brought the car on 01/17/2020
Engine uses oil. Have to add oil several times before next oil change is due.
On 6.22.2019 i purchased a jeep compass certified. I had the jeep for 10 days before the jeep will no longer start.the jeep had to be towed to the nearest jeep dealership. The diagnosis is that the jeep's timper is no longer working. This is a pre-existing issue that the jeep dealership on route 4 , paramus,nj was well aware of when the sold me the jeep. I do not have a loaner car to get to or from work.......

The stop/start battery had to be replaced. Within 2 months the car battery had to be replaced. This was because the stop/start engine died various times. The car would not start for over 10 minutes. A month after fixingit , it stalled again. I am 65 years old and this is very unsafe. I stop at a stop sign and start to go and it dies. It seems that the stop/start engine has to be stopped for a period of time before you can go.
I was getting onto the freeway got up to 60 miles an hour i saw my alternator light blink then my traction control light came on and the motor lost all power and now they're telling me that my throttle body is bad and i see a lot of complaints on the internet about jeep compass throttle bodies
2 times the same incident occurred 6 months apart, once in june 2019 mileage 22046 and once in december 2019 mileage 28423. Bought the car brand new in 2017. Oil is dissappearing!! the oil pressure low light will flash on - there is a loss of power -while driving - no warning! then the light will go off. Drive to oil change business to have them check the oil level and the jeep will be 3 to 3.5 quarts low. No leak present or oil seen. Engine seems to slip while driving before this happens.

The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. On several occasions, while driving 50 mph, the vehicle sputtered and shut off. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat manhattan (678 11th ave, new york, ny 10019, (212) 549-2208) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 52481054. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.

Car will not start. Starts and then shuts off. Not battery related.
I was on hwy going speed limit and the car in front stopped really fast and i put on my brakes and the engine got more power like the gas paddle was stuck i could not stop i had to go down the shoulder about a mile before the truck would stop and i was pushing down on the brake the whole time
My 2017 jeep compass has only 14,000 miles on it.i made a turn today and noticed the low oil indicator came on.i immediately told my husband and he checked the oil and it wasn't even showing up on the dip stick.it caused my engine to turn off in an intersection and i had to hope that i could get out of the intersection without getting hit.i managed to get it turned back on and the emergency brake was automatically engaged when the engine turned off.i disengaged the emergency brake and started my engine and made it home.we did add 3 quarts of oil.so, i researched this "problem" online and found many people having the same problem with this engine burning oil like crazy.i'm not sure if my engine is damaged or not (due to the oil being basically dry).i am planning on taking it in to the dealership.we added oil to get it back to the normal level, but to me we just covered up the problem.a new motor should not burn through 4 1/2 quarts of oil in 5,000 miles.something needs to be done.i feel like my $30,0000.00 vehicle is a lemon.
Problem started around 43k mileage. When turning, the "low oil pressure" light would come on, then the engine would stall and sometimes the emergency brake would activate and stop the car. I would have to shut vehicle off and then turn back on to operate.this happened on side streets and once on highway. Took car into golling (dealer) and they said oil was very low. I had just had oil changed about 3k miles prior to that. Dealer told me that "these engines are known to burn oil".they told me to bring it back at 2k miles to have the oil checked.at 2k miles, the oil was low again and they did an oil change and told me to bring it back at 1k miles.i brought it back at 1k miles they needed to "top it off" and told me to bring it back again at 2k miles.the dealer also mentioned that if next oil check it was showing low, they may need to replace engine.
Car has been repeatedly stalling when going into a turn or coming to a stop. Low oil pressure light will flash at times while driving. Stalls and low oil pressure warning flash sometimes occur at the same time, sometimes do not. Car recently stalled while going 35mph on a highway. Requires stopping car, putting into park, and then restarting, which takes 10-15 seconds for starter to get engine to turn over. When at idle in park, throttle does not respond to gas pedal.
Around 8:50am october 4th, 2018 my wife and baby were at a city street red light stopped and upon accelerating the car completely shut off and the steering-wheel locked up. After about 5 minutes she was able to start it up again. We live in the city so this could have been much worse at any different light at any time of day.i brought it in first thing the next morning to the dealership and was told that low oil can cause airpockets in the engine shutting the whole vehicle off. The jeep tech said "this has been seen a lot on newer jeeps in these multi-air engines.people come in for the same reason and have no indication of what caused it. When they first came out we had to diagnose a lot and 99.9% of the time that is the cause."my car was at ~11,200 miles, and my oil change sticker suggested ~11,600 to get it changed again. I had no oil light, let alone wasn't even close to the certified tech's oil change sticker that is placed on the car. This is completely unsafe and not acceptable. The tech suggested keeping a quart of oil in my car and checking the oil every 1-2k miles (in a brand new vehicle!).the dealership gm called me and asked if i wanted to trade in my vehicle for its worth to get me in something else since i wasn't satisfied, basically brushing off the major issue at hand. I explained i want this vehicle gone and refunded completely. He mentioned i could try my luck with the fca. I put in a complaint through jeep, and a rep by the name of steve stander called 4 times throughout the following week and left no voicemail. I looked up his # to verify he was calling from chrysler. Starting from the first missed call i left him a voicemail telling him the best time was any time after 12:30pm pst.the next 3 attempts he made were still in the early morning, ignoring my vm's.
The engine runs very hot and it burns oil like i have never seen before. The service manager knows about this as well as the advisors all informed me that this engine does run hot. It burns oil so quickly that you have to check it every time you fill up on gas. If you do it monthly..you will wind up low and when this engine is low on oil...it will shut off sometimes without notice and it happened to us in the middle of the hwy on a rainy day. This vehicle shut down on us 2 times in less than a year and with the engine running so hot...the dip stick is literally almost to hot to handle if you stop to check the oil. It has also caused the auxiliary as well as the main battery. I replaced the auxiliary battery in december 2019 then both batteries in september 2019. Also another reason for this vehicle to shut down without notice. All sorts of bizarre notices came on when the batteries went. The electronic emergency parking brake engages when it runs low on oil as well as when the batteries are low and/or die. Not a good thing as you have to remove the center shift counsel to unlock the gear shifter if you need to put it in neutral to push it in a safer place or get it towed. With as hot as this engine runs and burns oil so rapidly...my concern is that it will combust as when oil burns at such a fast rate it will leave a residue and if the dipstick gets this hot...i can only imagine how hot everything else is. As soon as i popped the hood...i felt that heat. Not a safe vehicle. I now know why it is a dual air port as well as the (auto stop) that stops the engine when in idle...both are there in an attempt to hopefully keep this engine cool enough to not combust. Friends with this same engine had similar issues that caused their vehicle to stop while driving. My other concern is that it may stop in the middle of an intersection or get rearended. Not a safe vehicle!!!
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that the oil in his vehicle needed to be changed every two months. In addition, the low oil warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ganley chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 310 broadway ave, bedford, oh 44146, (440) 232-2121) where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 51,000.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that the vehicle burned excessive oil. The vehicle was taken to james chrysler dodge jeep ram (13007 wicker ave, cedar lake, in 46303, (219) 267-1226) where the vehicle was tested for oil consumption every 500 miles. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,008.
On saturday, 10/5/19 while driving vehicle for only a minute and making a right turn, the oil light came on (oil pressure low) and then turned off. I then stopped my vehicle and waited about an hour before checking the oil and it was down almost 2 1/2 quarts.this is only after approximately 3,200 miles since the last oil change. I went t to jeep service in garden city, ny first thing monday morning and was told by 2 different service workers that it is normal to burn through a quart of oil every 1500 miles. * this is not normal*
Takara recall. I woke up in the am to go to meet my friend, stated jeep, it was running funny.so i put in reverse and pukked out of driveway, got to a stop sign, jeep would not go, no gas or just like it was running out of gas.parking brake went on had to shut it off and start it again. Than pulled on to hywy 65 and it like stalled, no gas power att all, steering was hard ,could not turn the wheel. And check engine lite went on,! and checked the oil because that keeps going on to.(just got an oil change)had too put in 2 quarts of oil. It is going somewhere? if there was alot of traffic i would have been killed. There are days my radio has a mind of it's own? it will just change channels or freeze up. My passenger window has a mind of it ownsomedays it will role downbeat ok , next day or hours it wont work again? all thede malfuntions makes my anxietyoff the charts. It is sad when it is your vehicle and your scared to drive it. I have 4 recalls and no one told me ,i had to look them up to get them. That is horrible peoples lives are in danger!i hopethat someone else doesnt have to be scared to dive there jeep. Like me.
Engine oil and stalling.i went for my 2nd oil change 8/27/2018.the service tech and a mechanic listened when i said the oil was basically gone and my husband had to add 2 quarts.i even checked all the system warnings and there is none for low oil.when pulling out into an intersection the car totally shut off at 4 different times.so the mechanic said yes those 2.4 engines burn 1 quart each 1000 miles and when the oil is low the engine will just stop.i asked about why there are no warning lights, the mechanic again said yes there is not one. Having a car just shut off is so dangerous.it could have been a terrible accident if another car was coming any of those 4 shut offs.also my car jerks when shifting gears.the service tech commented i needed a computer upgrade.while there for the oil change supposedly the upgrade was done.it just jerk again the other day when the transmission was shifting.this car is just a year old - all of these issues are terrible and dangerous.
Start/stop system stopped working and then burned out regular battery, preventing car from starting. System continues to operate intermittently, stopping the car when its not fully warmed up and other times not stopping the car when the car is fully warmed up.
Vehicle tried to shut off - sent vehicle to garage and they reset some codes.second time - vehicle shut off in the middle of an eight lane highway going 55 mph - no accident.had to have vehicle towed to dealership.replaced module in engine.third time - vehicle shut off again on a two lane highway - no accident.according to garage the vehicle was low on oil but no oil light came on.read quite a few of these jeep vehicles are having this problem.
Engine shut of while driving as i approached an intersection. Lost power steering and was unable to restart it the first few attempts. Eventually car did restart.
Engine stalls at any speed due to low oil. 2.4 engine has excessive oil consumption to the degree of shutting down in between 5000 mile oil changes. Engine has 30,000 miles and uses 3 quarts between changes "apparently". Chrysler says 1 quart per 2000 miles!!! on a new vehicle, this is totally unacceptable!
Transmission shifts back n forth very bad. Only 71,649 miles.need to fix it.please.
When you park the jeep and turn it off the starter keeps clicking like it is trying to start the radio comes on with no body in jeep when it is off and it all this makes the battery go dead
Safety hazard poor visibilty headlights-halogen bulbs h11ll. Poor visiablilty low lumens terrible road light distance. Dealer checked stated lights were fine.
Purchased first defective vehicle on 9-29-17, received replacement on 10-7-17, discovered the dash lights would not dim at night. The dealership has been holding the car waiting for a solution from chrysler ever since. They were scheduled to replace the defective module on 11-22-17 but issued the recall on 11-21-17. I still have not been given a repair date on a new vehicle that i have owned for 2 months and had at home but for 12 days.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was defective and did not work as intended without warning. Also, when attempting to place fuel into the fuel tank, the nozzle had to be re-positioned in order to continue adding fuel. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The contact was also informed that since he purchased the vehicle from a dealer that was no longer in operation, they could no longer stand by the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 10,677.
Vehicle shuts off while idle at stops. The car restarts every time the vehicle begins to move again.
Nozzle at fuel pump was stuck inside the gas cap and tank.both fuel station staff & i attempted to remove the nozzle from the gas tank but it would not come out.we had to use a piece of metal to pry out the nozzle.there is a metal notch on the gas nozzle that once inserted becomes lodged on the inner lip of the gas cap and you cannot remove it.this is a serious defect in the gas tank design and could cause safety issue especially if the gas nozzle continues to pump gas and the tank is full.
I was getting onto the freeway got up to 60 miles an hour i saw my alternator light blink then my traction control light came on and the motor lost all power and now they're telling me that my throttle body is bad and i see a lot of complaints on the internet about jeep compass throttle bodies
Dash and uconnect screen will not properly dim in certain situations. Most notably, if you turn on the car during the day and drive into the night, the headlights will turn on, but the dash and screen will not dim. If you turn on the car while it is dark out, dash will properly dim. There seem to be additional scenarios that interfere with dash dimming, such as opening a door while car is on and turning on overhead lighting.difficult to focus on road ahead when bright dash and screen is glaring in your face.
The lights on my instrument cluster panel are not adjustable with the light adjustment wheel. When driving at night the instrument cluster is bright making it difficult to see out. (i just purchased the vehicle).
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that the transmission slipped out of gear and the vehicle almost crashed into a fire hydrant. Chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat manhattan (678 11th ave, new york, ny 10019, (212) 549-2208) stated that they could not replicate the failure and conducted a safety inspection. The vehicle passed the inspection. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that a case manager would review the matter. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 8,500.
My jeep compas was built 8-2016 and is making a extremely loud grinding noise. I took my vehicle to get looked at and they rotated the tires. They stated the tires are in excellent condition and stated that it maybe the axel or internally because exterior visual inspection everything was fine. I came home and put the car in park and it was still rolling and i put the emergency brake on and that was making a grinding noise also. I no longer feel safe driving my vehicle. I need my vehicle to be added to recall t-26 as i am not going to pay for these repairs upfront. The grinding noise just seems to be getting louder. I do not want to operate the vehicle and loose control while driving my kids to school or even just driving to the dealership for repairs.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving at an unknown speed, the brakes did not engage and the brake-on warning indicator illuminated. Also, when the vehicle was in park, it rolled away and did not stop with the emergency brake being applied. The vehicle was taken to susanville auto center (530-257-5092, located at 704-485 richmond rd e, susanville, ca 96130) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 16,500.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact purchased the vehicle brand new on may 13, 2017. The contact was not made aware that the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v301000 (power train) until the monday after purchasing the vehicle. When the contact inquired as to why the northwest chrysler jeep dodge dealer sold him a brand new vehicle with an open recall, the contact was informed that the recall was a pre-notice and they would receive parts for a recall at a later date. The manufacturer was notified of the non-compliance and stated that they could not do anything regarding the dealer. The contact referenced motor vehicle act 49 u.s code 30120, which stated that the dealer had to remedy the vehicle prior to deliverythe contact had not experienced a failure.updated 08/08/17*lj
My jeep has been having shifting problems, where it will stop and tell me i have to park before i shift as i am driving. The "d" on the shifter will blink and it will read i need to be in park to shift. I pull over, have to put my car in park, and then try to restart my vehicle. It takes several attempts to restart it. This has been happening as i am in the middle of driving and about to go to a light or stop sign. If you come to a stop, it completely brakes and you cannot move it. Thankfully, this has only happened on a street not the highway, but i am scared that it might. I have seen on the internet that this has been happening to other people with jeeps, and it has escalated to a serious wreck. I do not want that to happen. I feel i should not have to pay for this problem, especially when my lease is almost up.
While driving the engine light comes on, input the car in park and then try to put it back in gear and it won't go. I shut the car off and it will then go in gear. This is the second time this has happened, as well as when i get to around 2500 rpm the transmission misses.
My vehicle went from not being able to control acceleration or accelerate and making a strange sound while in motion while the rpm was steady going up, to not accelerating at all while in motion, to not shifting gears, to not doing anything in less than 24 hours. I was on the highway when i first noticed all of the problems. I had to pull on side of the road multiple times. It was scary and dangerous being on side of the road as a woman at night with very little lighting in the area. When the vehicle didn't want to do anything at all it was parked.

My struts as well as 2 of my cousins with the same make and model jeeps have all been a problem. So there has to be an issue with jeep compass struts

The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving 30 mph, there was an abnormal clicking sound underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. In addition, the driveshaft detached from the vehicle and a crash occurred. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. The contact stated that a diagnostic test would not be performed for another 24-48 hours. The vehicle was not repaired. Manhattan jeep service center (located at 629 w 54th st, new york, ny 10019, (877) 225-8709) was contacted. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v301000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,082.
When driving, the car will randomly not accelerate on the highway, will not accelerate when first driving after turning the vehicle on, or not accelerate after the vehicle reaches 40 mph or above.the transmission also has had, since first purchasing the vehicle, where it will randomly stall or hiccup before suddenly recatching and working correctly.
When making left or right turns, it goes into 4wd. Doesn't matter if you're on the roadway or turning into a parking spot or even backing up. Feels like something grabbing in either the front or back can't really tell.makes grinding noise. Took back to the dealertwice now and they also say it was the 4wd that they can't fix anything because jeep knows about the problem and we have to wait for jeep to do a recall.it gets worse every day. They say they can not give us a paper because ofwaiting on the recall.only had this car for 3 months and nobody wants to fix the problem.
Total electrical failure on the highway, no stability control, hvac, turn signals, hazzard lights, 4wd, every electrical item malfunctions, just the engine runs but all instrumentation and electrical accessory stop working in the middle of driving.
Transmission shifts back n forth very bad. Only 71,649 miles.need to fix it.please.
The jeep will randomly downshift so hard it will make a terrible sound while throwing all passengers forward. It also has done this shifting up as well but is more likely to do it while downshifting. Has already been brought to the dealership and was given a transmission update electronically but things were just as bad the day after i left the dealership so i can assume that the updates are not effective to handle this.from how hard it shifts it sounds like something is going to snap.
The contact's daughter owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle seized in the middle of the road. The driver was able to restart the vehicle within five minutes. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to central jeep chrysler dodge ram of raynham (located at 191 us-44, raynham, ma 02767, (508) 823-0101) where it was diagnosed that it needed a pass and oil change. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred on september 25, 2019. The driver stated that a warning message appeared, indicating to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle was unable to turn off. While depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate and was unable to shift into any gear. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The contact attempted to contact the manufacturer, but was unsuccessful. The failure mileage was 20,000. The vin was not available.
Is using oil very quickly. Was told to carry oil with me to keep the oil full so that it doesn't run out.when oil gets low (no oil left after 3000 miles) will get brief "low oil pressure" message and jeep will just shut off automatically.this always happens when i am driving.was in the middle of a very busy intersection yesterday when this happened on my way to get the oil changed and i almost got hit by a semi.this is very unsafe.
I was in the kwik trip carwash with my engine on and in park, when the vehicle, ( a 2017 jeep compass 4x4 high altitude), suddenly goes forward and the only way to stop was to turn the engine off. The brakes didn't stop it. This happened on july 5th 2020, at approximately 9:2o pm in shawano, wi.
While driving on freeway this morning the vehicle drivetrain disengage and was not able to accelerate with warning message showing place car in park - select mode - something to that affect - this the second time this has happened- first time on freeway- thank goodness traffic was next to none i think this is very serious!!!!!
The contact's daughter was driving a 2017 jeep compass. While driving 10 mph, the vehicle jerked, lunged, and lost power. Also, the vehicle accelerated while the brake pedal was depressed. Furthermore, the overheat warning indicator illuminated for approximately thirty seconds and then turned off. The vehicle was taken to manhattan jeep (629 w 54th st, new york, ny 10019, (877) 225-8709) to be diagnosed, but the failures could not be duplicated. The failures recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a second diagnostic test, which failed to duplicate the failure again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.
Code coming up, something to do with accelerator and front seat beat snapper stopped working year ago, been snapping from driver side into passengers.it won't take seatbelt in.
While driving on the interstate my passenger side headrest popped open.
Takata recall: burning plastic smell while in motion. Found burn hole in the passenger side leather seat.

I was on hwy going speed limit and the car in front stopped really fast and i put on my brakes and the engine got more power like the gas paddle was stuck i could not stop i had to go down the shoulder about a mile before the truck would stop and i was pushing down on the brake the whole time
Stop system that stops the car at red lights for fuel econom. My car would all of the sudden accelerate without my putting foot on gas peddle. Took to dealer. He said there was a known issue with it, and wiped the memory and did an update . My concern is that when it did this i almost got into an accident with another car in front of me. It accelerated so fast i almost lost control too. When they test drove it they couldn't find anything wrong. But when they hooked it up to find any error codes they found 2. That's when they discovered the problem. My biggest concern is that they said it was a kniwn issue yet no recall to bring my car in for the updated fix. Hadvi not been trained for situations like this i or someone else could have gotten killed.the vehicle was in motion going down hill i was riding the brake because of the hill. When i had let up off the brake slightly that's when it accelerated so fast i almost lost control.
Brakes have a terrible grinding noise when i stop, i was told it was abs system, i have never had a car or loaner that made such a scarey noise. It has been worked 5 times in the last 6 months brake changes, rotars, sanding down etc. Still dies it
My daughter purchased a brand new 2017 jeep compass from papas dodge in new britain, ct.
According to techs at dodge dealership bot front anti lock brake sensors are bad. This vehicle is only driven on paved roads. This vehicle only has 27203 miles on it. Light has been coming on and going off for a month. It is hard to understand how 2 sensors could go bad at the same time unless the sensors are of poor quality. These sensors are original sensors. Safety equipment should not be subject to cost savings. This vehicle is well within the mileage for warranty and only two months out of time warranty. How do 2 sensors go bad at once? researching these problems online and it seems to be a common problem with jeep.
While pulling off from a stop, the electronic parking brake turns on by itself. This has occurred multiple times, typically on flat city street at a red light or stop sign. The only way to get the car to drive is to restart the engine, but this sometimes takes a few times to start.
The brakes on the compass are very sensitive.while driving or from a cold start, applying the brakes at slow speeds will cause the vehicle to lurch to an almost emergency stop.i own 4 vehicles and none of the other cars have brakes as touchy as these.my family refuses to drive the compass because of the brake issue.the dealer tells me there is no recall or tsb on this issue.
Like me.
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light and attempting to move off, the accelerator pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The contact stated that the parking brake also activated independently. Additionally, while attempting to slow the vehicle at a traffic light, extra effort was needed to depress the brake while slowing the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle then came to an abrupt stop. Zimmer chrysler dodge jeep ram located at 1086 burlington pike, florence, ky 41042, (859)795-2122 to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that an electrical failure in the radio and air condition blower may have also caused the failure in the transmission. The air condition blower and radio were replaced. The contact was informed that the corrective measures taken to replace the blower motor and the radio may also fix the failure in the transmission. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, case number: 59537226. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

My 2017 jeep compass has been having difficulty with steering/pulling. The left lower control arm and ball joint were found to be excessively loose/worn at 43,000 miles. The ball joint was previous replaced prior to 24,000 miles. This part has now been recalled on 2018 models but not 2017. The need for two such replacements on a car with 43,000 miles is terrifying and needs to be investigated.
On 11/23/20 i was at quirk chrysler jeep dealer getting an oil change and i was informed that both front lower control arms needed to be replaced the vehicle has only 33,906 miles. 2018 jeep compass vehicles were recalled for this same issue. This is a safety issue to have these parts fail prematurely.

Front end crossmember or also called subframe has rotted and rusted clear through at just over 10 years old i was informed by car mechanic. Jeep acknowledged the issue with the bad subframes and put an extended warranty on it. That only lasted 10 years. So car is now unsafe for the road and repairs are more then cars worth. Have read 1,000s of other complaints online for same issue with 2007 and 2008 compasses.
I replaced my lower front pumper because it started looking like something was burning the pumper. After replacing pumper it happen again, i took it to the dealer they told me there was nothing they could do for me. My car sets in my drive way most of the time im retierdi dont drive my car much. I believe there's a defect in the materialhope theres something that be done. Thank you!
On 11/23/20 i was at quirk chrysler jeep dealer getting an oil change and i was informed that both front lower control arms needed to be replaced the vehicle has only 33,906 miles. 2018 jeep compass vehicles were recalled for this same issue. The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass. While driving 25 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise. The vehicle was taken to bud clary moses lake chrysler dodge jeep ram (located at 12174 n frontage rd, moses lake, wa 98837, (509) 765-3461) where it was initially diagnosed that the driver and passenger side cv axles needed to be replaced. The second time the dealer diagnosed that the driver and passenger side ball joints needed to be replaced. The parts were not available and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 29,000.

This feature is such an inconvenience due to the chance of stalling at every stop light/intersection. This increases the chances of getting rear ended.in addition, today my front collision warning + brakes got activated while i was in motion without anything in front of me. Again, another possibility of getting rear ended.
I have been experiencing starting issues with my 2017 jeep compass since december 2017, it is now almost march 2018. I have called so far 5 tow trucks and each visit at the dealership they can't find anything wrong with the vehicle. I have pleaded with them regarding my safety concerns, but pursuant to their "policy" they return me my car keys back.they want me to continue calling tow trucks until they can figure out what is wrong with it.
Electrical system problem jeep completely stops with no warning due to intermittent electrical failure
Sirius travel link/uconnect system installed in fca's 8.4" nav infortainment screen comes with a 5 year trial of sirius travel link which access the national weather service alert system, and as a result the driver is bombarded with numerous weather alerts for the region - they are very distracting pop-up windows which must be manually dismissed, requiring driver to look away from the road and take a hand off the wheel to "x" out of each one on the touch screen.these alerts pop up many times during a single short trip depending on the weather, sometimes as many as 15 in a short 10 minute drive, and includes counties over a hundred miles away.there is no way to disable them in the radio.it is impossible to get rid of the service - we tried cancelling our sirius subscription entirely but the weather alerts have continued.we have experienced a number of instances where the radio has caused us to not see things while driving because we were looking at the screen to turn off the alerts.these alerts are numerous, frequent, and horribly annoying, and very distracting.there has to be a way for the user to disable these notifications.
My wife drove home from work parked car in driveway 3 hours later had to bring my daughter to work and window was cracked from bottom up about 10 inches in center of window we also found out another person who bought a 2017 compass had window crack having a hard time getting dealer to fix window we bought vehicle 6 weeks ago it should be covered under warranty dealer ship took pictures on april 18 2017.
I purchased a 2017 jeep compass in december 2019, from a major nationwide rental agency, with a 36 month warranty. I was driving the vehicle at 530am, in darkness, at 65 mph in a straight direction, in the middle lane of a major highway, when the engine abruptly shut off. I was able to make to to the shoulder of the road, but with difficulty because the power steering had stopped working as well. The vehicle would not restart and had to be towed to a jeep dealership, where the warranty would not cover the full repair.
Code coming up, something to do with accelerator and front seat beat snapper stopped working year ago, been snapping from driver side into passengers.it won't take seatbelt in.
Once starting the vehicle the car remains in the park position and can not be moved into any other gear. I have been stuck with my daughters in themid day in the heat because i can not change the gear. I do have a video of it but can not take a picture due to the fact that it will only show my hand on the gear. I have taken a screen shot of the video and uploaded it.
Owners manual shows reversed polarity on battery terminals in the jump starting procedure section.chrysler has a recall (t46) out for the corrected manual for vehicles built throughapril 28, 2017, my car was built on april 29, 2017 and has the incorrect manual but chrysler refuses to provide a correct one, saying i'm not part of the recall.
Car shakes at high rateof speed
We've experienced random stalling and excess oil consumption. We've brought to dealer under the warranty - they initially confirmed excess oil consumption but then pulled back on it. They are 'unable to replicate' the random stalling and therefore won't address even though it's a tremendous safety risk as it happens while the vehicle is in motion on a public roadway. Emails and service records can be provided upon request. Most recent stall date provided below.
2017 jeep compass limited has experienced 5 episodes of stalling after coming to a stop. Vehicle is equipped with the auto stop/start feature and each time the auto stop/start turns back on, just as the vehicle begins to accelerate, the vehicle stalls out and shuts off. The vehicle is unable to be immediately turned back on and moved to safety. This has occurred 5 times on busy roads causing a life safety hazard. On the 4th time this occurred a mechanic stated it was due to low oil. An oil change was conducted and a week later the 5th stalling episode occurred, this time in the middle of a busy state road intersection during rush hour. Fortunately any injury/accident has been avoided, however these incidents could easily lead to severe injury or even death. A quick internet search shows extensive similar reports about this particular vehicle.
The uconnect 8.4 radio/head unit will display weather alert popups while driving, resulting in distraction due to both the audio and visual alert and requiring physical interaction with the touch screen device. There is no way to disable the alerts, even after unsubscribing from the "feature." just as scrolling and settings menus are disabled while in motion for safety, there should be no popups and required interaction while in motion. Attached photo is from last summer, but issue is ongoing anytime any national weather service alert is active within a ~400 mile radius.
Start/stop does not engage when stopped
While at a red light, the compass went into auto stop. When my foot released the brake, the car shuttered, a light appeared and it appeared to stall. I could not accelerate and had to brake, park the vehicle, turn it off and back on (in the middle of a busy intersection). The next morning, while driving on the expresswayn the vehicle did not appear affected, but a different light came on indicating collision warning was turned off. It did not go off until the car was turned off and did not appear to pop back up. Later that same day, while driving on the expressway with cruise control going about 76 mph in the left hand lane, the vehicle shuttered, and appeared to stall. The same light turned on. I was able to coast the vehicle to the right hand shoulder, then it off and turn it back on. Pictures of the lights have been included.
A pebble smaller than a pea went through the grill and put a whole in the ac /defrost compressor which also houses the transmission coolant costing over $ 600 to replace.very cheap material to be punctured by a tiny pebble and very poor design to leave such a fragile part unprotected.
Twice the vehicle has stalled at a stop sign. The d on the gear shift and the dashboard flash and it says put the car in park. Then it says press the brake and push start. After the car restarts and you begin to drive it flashes low oil pressure. The third time it happened we were driving. The low oil pressure flashed and it felt kind of like the car was dragging. We had slowed to make a left turn and the car stalled out. The d on the gear shifter and the dashboard flashed and it said put the car in park and then hold brake and press start. This time when i pressed the start button it seemed like it kept trying to start the car. I had to press the button again to make it stop making that sound.
While pulling off from a stop, the electronic parking brake turns on by itself. This has occurred multiple times, typically on flat city street at a red light or stop sign. The only way to get the car to drive is to restart the engine, but this sometimes takes a few times to start.
As many other owners of vehicles with the uconnect infotainment system will attest, the partnership with siriusxm and weather alerts has become an actual issue.sad that is the case since a simple fix could be presented but here we are as customers with an unsafe and sometimes never ending supply of full screen popups of weather alerts on our infotainment system.fca, uconnect, and siriusxm all seem unwilling to provide a solution to the nws' geographic weather alerts.these alerts can and have happened at a steady interval of every 30 seconds and they never leave the screen unless you close it.no matter what you are doing, to include getting navigated to a poi, the popups override everything.a simple fix from connect and fca would be to provide a setting to disable alerts; another option would be to have the alert "time out" after 20 seconds.i am aware the alerts come from nws so no fix to the crazy geographic alerts to things 200 miles away.please press fca and uconnect to provide a solution to this issue that many many owners are having significant complaints about.
Total electrical failure on the highway, no stability control, hvac, turn signals, hazzard lights, 4wd, every electrical item malfunctions, just the engine runs but all instrumentation and electrical accessory stop working in the middle of driving.
Auto stop failed to restart vehicle while stopped at stop light. Parking brake engaged and car was unable to move. Had to put car in park and turn off vehicle. Then had to restart to continue driving.
Sirius/xm guardian weather alerts on radio for areas that are not in your local area are a constant distraction and cannot be disabled. Alerts occurs for weather that is 100s of miles away from home location. Alerts do not go away by themselves, they have to be manually cancelled on the radio display.
4 separate time in less than 2 weeks my car completely stopped while i was driving. 2 times while driving to my job in city streets . And 2 times driving on a highway. This is very dangerous
Jeep's uconnect system has, on three occasions, not recognized my voice for calling an existing phone contact.in place of canceling, or asking for a manual selection on the screen, uconnect defaults to calling 9-1-1 emergency services.this places me in an awkward position, ties up essential emergency service resources, and is embarrassing.i have even changed the names in my phone to avoid any sort of confusion.since september 2017, this has occurred three times.
May 23, 2019, my husband was in an accident that totaled our compass according to the police in the town. The speed was approximately 30mpg. The airbags did not deploy. My husband was taken to finley hospital. There were injuries consisting of rotator cuff damage. I will be looking into a lawsuit. This car is very unsafe! the car was in motion, he said he experienced brake failure and struck a trailer holding a riding lawnmower. It was 12:16 pm.
Attached please find my work orders and the number of times i have called tow trucks.since december 31, 2017, i have been dealing with continuous starting issues with my 2017 jeep compass, i have called (5) tow trucks so far, the dealership claims since they cannot duplicate the issue at the dealership, they cannot find anything wrong with my vehicle and continue to return my car keys back to me. My only solution for now is to continue call tow trucks, my vehicle is still under warranty, i have mailed, recorded and proven evidence of my starting issues, now it is almost march and my 2017 jeep compass still has starting issues. Two out of the six tow truck workers informed me that they have towed new jeep compass's and the reason for the towing is due to starting issues. I would like to request an investigation to see if there is any recalls needed for this particular issue. I have lost count on how many times i have called fca, spoken to managers, service managers and now the district manager and i have gone nowhere.my first roadside assistance was on january 1, 2018, they tried to jumpstart the battery no success, i waited until january 2, 2018 to call a tow truck to tow my vehicle to the dealership since it was a holiday, took 4 hours for them to arrive. Since february 18, 2018, my 2017 jeep compass is still at the dealership "unrepaired" they plan on returning me my vehicle this week.
When stopped at a stop light with the engine in gear (drive) there will be a vibration coming from the engine compartment. If you shift into park or neutral it will stop. It only vibrates at an idle while in gear once you start moving it stops.
2nd time i've gone outside of my home to start my car and the car does not start, this has happened twice... Then i google search it and see so many complaints of ppls car just not starting. This is the second time this has happened to me. Nothing was left on is my car, just like so many other ppl who've had and reported this same issue. This is not right jeep needs to be held accountable!
When putting the car in reverse it would go straight untill it kicked back in gear. On highway gear switched on its own slowed down and kicked back in. I could of got in s major accident. I just brought the car on 01/17/2020
My new car comes with a free trial period of siriusxm travel link. Part of this feature is travel alerts which appear on the center console touch screen. There is no method for disabling these alerts, and depending upon where you are, you can receive multiple alerts per hour. These can sometimes be for weather over 200 miles away from your current position. The only way to clear the message is to physically reach over and touch the screen. This feature needs to have a setting to disable. On a recent trip driving in the snow near multiple weather patterns, i was reaching for the screen every 5 minutes because it blocks the map which i needed to follow. It's like my car is forcing me to be a distracted driver. How can this possibly be considered a 'safety feature' by sirius xm?

I was on hwy going speed limit and the car in front stopped really fast and i put on my brakes and the engine got more power like the gas paddle was stuck i could not stop i had to go down the shoulder about a mile before the truck would stop and i was pushing down on the brake the whole time
The contact owns a 2017 jeep compass.
Transmission shifts back n forth very bad. Only 71,649 miles.need to fix it.please.
My vehicle was in motion on the express way doing no more the 30 mph and my throttle control light came on and caused my vehicle to hesitate when i tried to accelerate.

The car engine stopped running as i was driving down the street my car stalled and i couldn't steer or control the speed or motion of the car.
Bridgestone firehawk tire. These factory tires are defective. The tire belts in all 4 of my tires have shifted causing an excessive humming noise. My tire treads are currently at 5/32 and according to tread is nowhere near replacing, however due to the tire belts shifting in all 4 tires, i must replace them in order to avoid a more serious issue with my vehicle.
