I was driving into the parking lot of a dunken donuts and the driver side headrest deployed for no reason. The clips that lock the headrest in place some how broke causing the headrest to deploy.
The active restraint headrest broke and the padded area popped out yesterday (01/11) while sitting in the car in a parking lot. The plastic holding the catch pin broke and it cannot be reset.
Vehicle was purchased used from carmax in april 2018 *(never alerted to any recalls. ) 10/09/2020 car driving on expressway / car was rolled in accident / totaled/ no airbags deployed
Vehcile was involved a a 50 mph front end collision with a guard rail on a state highway.the vehicle suffered extensive front end damage.the airbags did not deploy and the driver's seat belt did not lock up.
The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. While driving approximately 25 mph, another vehicle crashed into the driver side of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a neck injury that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,400....updated 07-08-15 updated 12/4/2015
Every time i start my 2015 jeep compass,r stationary and running,i see a warning light appear regarding my air bag, indicating the airbag system has failed.possibly a simple reset, however, jeep has had other year jeeps recalled regarding faulty airbags.
The airbag light goes on intermittently while driving because of the driver seat belt sensor issues per the mechanic. Also, the passenger seat recline lever broke right off, so we can no longer recline. More importantly, the car sometimes won't even start. Dashboard panel just remains black, and the engine does not even turn over. Just silent. After waiting a few moments, it starts perfectly. Mechanics don't know.
The right front passenger headrest deployed while car was parked and not in use. The plastic retainer clips are broken and it can not be fixed. This is a safety issues that has been documented repeatedly on jeep forum so it is a manufacturing problem. Jeep needs to replace this free of charge as it deployed on its own while the car was parked and not in use
We purchased the jeep compass on 11/15/14.within the first week of ownership, the airbag light came on.we returned it to the dealership a total of 5 times between 11/15/14 and 12/12/14.on 12/12, they replaced the airbag.within another week, the airbag light started coming back on again.we have reported it again and took it back to dealership.they said the last time that there was no one there that knew how to fix it.we really love the jeep, but are not comfortable driving a car with airbag issues and would really like to get this resolved quickly.
I am not the only one complaining about this.i've seen other complaints about this problem online.when i test drove my car, the airbag light turned on.the sales guys said it was a defect and would get fixed.well, that never happened and i went back to the dealership three times and after they gave me a hard time, i gave up.i emailed chrysler, called them, nothing!i will never buy a jeep again.horrible customer service.the air bag light dings and goes on and off sporadically and it's been like this since 2015.if i get into a crash and this light is on, i'm afraid the airbag will not release. There will be a lawsuit regardless if i'm dead or not!i guess you won't react until someone gets into an accident?meanwhile, wehae to live with the constant ding, ding, ding!jeep compass airbag warning light. If this light stays illuminated after the engine has started it signals that there is a fault within the airbag module and you are no longer being offered the safety in the way your jeep was designed to. You should get this checked out as soon as possible by your local garage. Unfortunately at this time we do not stock any tools which are suitable to diagnose the jeep airbag system, and buying these tools yourself can be very expensive.http://www.carproblemzoo.com/jeep/compass/air-bag-light-on-problems.phphttp://www.arfc.org/complaints/2015/jeep/compass/air_bags/problem.aspxletter to and from chrysler.re: chrysler group llc customer assistance ([xxx])customerassistwed 1/6/2016 2:31 pmdear [xxx],thank you for contacting the jeep customer assistance center regardingyour compass.our records show that you have contacted us by telephone and we arecurrently addressing your concern. I purchased my jeep compass january of 2020. Summer of 2020 my camshaft and crankshaft sensor went out completely shutting down my car, then january of 2021 my camshaft sensor went out again. This time i was driving on the highway and my cars check engine and traction control light switched on at the same time and slowed the speed of my car. I've replaced my camshaft 3 times already this month and i'm still getting the same code of p0365
All engine lights came on, electrical components started going out, then car would not go over 10 miles per hour, even with the accelerator pushed all the way down, then the car completely shut down on the middle of a very heavily traffic road. Power steering, all electrical components and engine refused to work. Had to have the compass towed to nearest dealer and problem was the entire computer system went out. 4 month old vehicle and the entire computer system fried. Took 6 days to get it replaced. Now two months later the exact same thing has happened again and the dealership doesn't seem to care. Says it's under warranty and will be fixed, but don't seem to understand the sever danger this defective vehicle puts my family and me in when we drive it without knowing when and where the computer system will blow again. What if i was pulling out of an intersection and the car shut down like this and my family gets hit by traffic. Something needs to be done!
The car has shut off multiple times while driving on the road. I have had the transmission flushed, replaced the battery, had the throttle sensor control replaced, had the crankshift replaced, and the catalytic converter replaced. I took the car to the jeep dealer and even after replacing the catalytic converter the car still shuts off, and they cannot tell me why. The dealer stated that no codes are coming up so they cannot identify the issue.
The vehicle engine shut down while driving.
I was proceeding through a green light. A car coming from my left ran their red light at full speed (approx. 30 mph) and crashed into my car. My entire front end was damaged. It was pushed in at least 10-12" according to the responding fire department & emt's my airbag should have absolutely gone off and it did not. I was transported to the hospital for neck pain. Luckily nothing is broken but i have severe neck, back, and head pain almost a full week later. I am starting physical therapy next week.
While in motion or idling vehicle intermittently jerks, shakes, or stalls.rpms fluctuate, throttle sensor warning and mil illuminate, dtc of p0121 and p2135 are stored.vehicle has suddenly lost power on interstate while in motion at 70 mph throttle position warning and mil illuminated.vehicle stalled while in motion at 55 mph on highway, throttle position warning and mil illuminated.both instances have occurred multiple times and are intermittent and without warning.all instances have occurred in moderate to heavy traffic creating an immediate threat to life and limb. Manufacturer has not issued any recalls for this issue despite numerous consumer complaints. Vehicle has 66545 miles.
The electronic throttle contol light came on and i experienced throttle control failure while the vehicle was in motion going about 45mph, at night, in the rain, in a construction zone, with a vehicle behind me and oncoming traffic, and my child in the car. The car seemed to stall out and would not accelerate, i was able to quickly turn on my hazard lights and turn the ignition off and restart the vehicle and go. This could have been a terrible accident!!!!! the malfunction indicator light remains on.
Throttle control failure while operating vehicle. Has happened multiple times with no real answer for repair or cause for failure.causes: loss of control, speed and acceleration on highway. Very dangerous situation that can potentially cause death and/or serious accident if not corrected.## vin passed ## jeep compass 2015 ##
I have had my vehicle for 5 years and the issue is getting worse as the years go by. When my ā€low oil/change engine oilā€¯ light comes on, my vehicle stalls out and the lightening bolt indicator light flashes while driving.the indicator light comes on as i push the gas pedal. When i release the pedal, it goes out. Each time i attempt to accelerate/press the gas pedal, the vehicle stalls as if itā€™s not getting the gas it needs to accelerate. I had my fuel line and fuel pump checked and it is perfectly fine, i had a tuneup as well. I have this issue every single time that my ā€low oil/change engine oilā€¯ indicator light comes on and i am constantly putting oil in my engine. I am paying out money to have my vehicle checked, constantly. I was informed of the issue and there are class action suits being dismissed for the same mechanical issue that i have been having for 4 and a half years.
Driving and when i step on the gas, car limps and no power goes to moving the car forward. Will be driving 50 mph on highway and all movement forward will come to a stop. Check engine light comes on. No mechanical issue, have had the car serviced twice with no resolution. Car is 5 years old with 85k miles on it.
I purchased my 2015 jeep compass sport january of 2020. Summer of 2020 i had to replace my camshaft sensor and my crankshaft sensor becuase my car completely shut down while i was at work and would not start. This year january of 2021 i was driving home on the highway going 65 mph while it was snowing heavily and my cars check engine light and traction control light came on at the same time and slowed the power of my car in the middle of the highway. I got my car read and the code came back as p0365. I have had the cam shaft sensor replaced 3 times already this month and i'm still experiencing the same problem. Again on my home from work on the highway at night my cars check engine light and traction control light came on and slowed down my car. I took the back roads home as i did the first time this happened and noticed that when i drove my car would randomly accelerate on its on and hesitate to pick up speed one i had stopped or pressed my foot to the gas pedal.
Car wont start, put in new battery, worked two days and wont start again.this have been going on for about six months.sometimes it will start if i get a jump but now it wont start at all.the vehicle will be parked but once i try to restart it it wont crank. Not doing anything now after getting a new battery 2 days ago.also had the cable connects that connect the battery changed.
I was driving the car at about 25 mph and as i came to a stop the check engine light came on. I tried to continue driving but it wouldn't drive as i pressed on the accelerator.the prnd all had a square around them. The mechanic was able to fix the problem by making sure all cables were clear from dust, debris or not connected properly.that seemed to work the first time. After 5 days of driving the car it happened again. As i merged into the expressway the car suddenly lost acceleration. Check engine light, slip indicator, temperature warning light all came on, and prnd all had a square around them. The car wouldn't run properly, as if it was stuck in first gear. It wouldn't drive past 15mph. Took it to the mechanic and 7 wires were burned out. I believe the wires that go to the transmission. He explained to me that the wires were over a sharp edge on the body and when the car moved the wires would rub against the sharp edge because there was nothing protecting the wires from the body. He also said there was a spark mark on the body of the car and that was due to the short circuit the wires caused.
2015 jeep compass latitude 4x4 with a 2.4l engine and automatic transmission. The vehicle only has 80,000 miles on it. About a week ago we were driving down the road in our neighborhood when the car went into limp mode, no power to the wheels and the enging started chugging. Came to a complete stop and the rpm's were at 1500 at idle. Check engine light, throttle control light, abs, and traction control light turned on. I shut off the engine and waited a couple seconds and turned it back on. All the lights turned off and the vehicle seemed fine. I drove it home and hooked up my scan tool and there were no codes so i had no idea what to look for. Two days later we were driving down the highway and it happened again in a construction zone with no shoulder and no exit! the car would not accelerate and chugged to a stop, had to hold up traffic to turn the car off and back on to get moving again. Two miles later it happened and we had a shoulder to pull over onto. I stopped the car and tried to scan the engine and again no codes but the dash was lit up like a christmas tree. After turning it back on the car was stuck in limp mode and would not move. Had to have it towed to the shop. After throwing a bunch of money at it we finally found it was a faulty throttle body. The pedal sensor and the throttle body were not communicating. It cost us $719.67 to have it fixed not to mention the tow.
I seen on the internet there was a recall on my jeep make and model for catalytic converter problems...i just had to spend a little over $4,000 in repairs because my vehicle caught on fire. When i got it to my insurance they couldn't find anything wrong but wouldn't start. When i took to garage they found that both my catalytic converters had disintegrated from the inside out and i had to replace both among other things. Is there any way i can get compensated? i have had it back from garage for few weeks and now am having problems with it starting.
Back in june/july 2018 my vehicle would keep bucking while driving and the throttle light and check engine light would come on. I called dealership and they told me not to drive it until it was serviced. The vehicle only had 53,000 miles but was over the warranty and was not covered under the powertrain warranty. I feel this should have been covered. I see a lot of other people are complaining about this. Will this be recalled. It cost me over $500.00 to fix this. Let alone the dangerous driving situation with it losing power while driving on a major route with alot of traffic. I also had to have my power window unit replaced. It got stuck while down. I took it to dealership while under warranty they fixed it. But it happened again after warranty was over and i was charged to replace motor. Is this why jeep only gives 3 year warranties because their parts aren't designed to last much after that.
9/9/19jeep compass latitude just shut down no warning lights, alarms, or codes it stopped while driving i was leaving home depot in dearborn miheaded to the freeway i was still in parking lot speed limit 10 miles per hour when my vehicle completely shut down i restarted it first try drove a few feet it shut down again i had no control of the steering at all i finally managed to pull into a parking spoti call snethcamp dealer in redford mi i spoke to kate she suggested it was the oil but i checked and the oil was finei got it started and drove to the dealership with the engine light on but it never blinked i explained to service that the truck just shut down then it tried to start but took a minute to crank diagnostic showed p0335 crank shaft sensor failed pins worn outs dealership replaced crankshaft sensor, connector, wiring 3 way i've been reading the complaints on the internet about the jeep compass just stalling out but there isn't any recallthe internet is loaded with the complaint of this problemi am begging you to please investigate this before someone is seriously hurt
While driving on the highway on two separate occasions now, my jeep suddenly loses power and decelerates. The engine light, electronic throttle control light and stability control light come on, the jeep runs very rough and will not accelerate. After pulling over and turning the car off and back on the engine light stays on and the other lights go off but after driving a bit the problem occurs again. When scanned the code is u0401 stating that there is an issue with communication to the pcm. There is only 88700 miles on the jeep. The power train warranty is good to 100000 but the dealership states that the pcm is not covered under the drivetrain warranty. After researching online there are many reports of this happening to othe jeep compasses and patriots. Both times this has happened on the highway it has been a particularly scary situation due to the fact that the jeep rapidly decelerates and the traffic behind me has had difficulty slowing as quickly. This happened 12/16/18 as well as 12 /6/18 and 12/17/18
My car stalled as i was driving, lucky enough i was coming to a stop light. When i turned it back on it worked fine. I have read this is a command thing to happen in jeep compass.
I only have 25,000 miles on my 2015 jeep compass and am now being told by the dealership that i need my throttle body replaced and the connectors to be rewired. It seems to be a trend here. How is this not a recall? car won't accelerate when it is cold outside, and my throttle sensor and engine light are on. Dealership wants over$1000 for repair, and it is not covered under the power train warranty. I live in a highly populated area, and it is so dangerous when your car won't accelerate during heavy traffic. There have been several occasions where i am forced to pull into a parking lot until the car will go again. Definitely could have caused a crash or incident.

Vehicle not starting, unable to accelerate over 20mph, idling, shaking, radio unexpectedly stopped working, vehicle not communicating with the 'computer' ecm
When riding city streets or highway engine sometimes jerk and stalls. No warning and no lights. This has happen over 10 times in the last five months. Crankshaft sensor was replaced august 2018 due to engine stalling and wouldn't crank.
The airbag light goes on intermittently while driving because of the driver seat belt sensor issues per the mechanic. Also, the passenger seat recline lever broke right off, so we can no longer recline. More importantly, the car sometimes won't even start. Vehicle started stall without warning when driving.no error code is recorded in car.no check engine or other lights appear on the dash.there are many blogs on the internet about this problem and when i contacted fiat (jeep) they had no solution.it is dangerous and some type of response from chrysler is needed with a solution.the problem is random and has been happening for three months.

Car stalls\stops while driving whether driving straight or making turns. Very dangerous.
This 2015 jeep compass has had multiple defects until now:1. In around mid 2015, the 4 wheels light kept turning on and not able to be turned off, then i sent it to the dealership to fix it, which cost me a few hundreds of dollars. The dealer told me that the electric wire within the engine box was not in good shape and need to be replaced.2. At the end of 2017, the car was suddenly shaking heavily and jerks while accelerating, and a continuous muffled and hollow sound came out from the engine box. And the engine warning light was on. I sent it to the dealer for a fix, and the fee was paid by the dealer themselves. Later they told me that they replaced the transmission for my car. 3. In the mid of 2020, the car was not able to shift from the park(a shifter stuck in park) when it was in the surface parking of my apartment. So i had to send it to the garage to have a fix, which cost me a few hundred more dollars, and some of its electric wired within the engine box was replaced.
The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine, traction control, andelectronic throttle control indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer (huffines chrysler jeep dodge ram lewisville located at 1024 s slemmons fwy lewisville, tx 75067 469-293-3618) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 52,000.
I was driving down interstate 75 on christmas eve with my partner and our dog when my vehicle completely stalled. Luckily, we were able to pull over to the side of the road but it was terrifying due to the abruptness of the stall and the vehicles behind us still going a normal speed. We had it towed to the dealership where i bought it 3 months prior and they diagnosed the issue as the wiring harness for the cps. To make matters worse, the dealership insisted on charging $305 for the part and labor. Overall, this has been an extremely disappointing experience with jeep due to the terrifying experience on the interstate and the price gouging by the dealership. I will be working to sell this jeep as soon as possible.
I was driving on the service road about to enter onto a major highway and my jeep had three caution lights pop up on the dashboard. Next thing i know my rpms were all over (limp mode) and my cars power started to stall. I had to pull over and was in a really bad spot that had no shoulder. I restarted the vehicle and the check engine light was lit. I was able to drive it into a parking lot. This was quite a scary situation and had me fearing for my safety. I looked up this problem and seems like quite an occurence. I had my truck towed to the nearest jeep service station and was told they had to put me on emergency list for loaner vehicle (mind you, i lease my jeep) and was told they were backed up in service. That location told me it was a pcm code error.i called other service locations and was told i needed to tow it to my home station in order to get a loaner. The car sat for over a week and was finally looked at today. I am now told the throttle body needs to be replaced. My jeep has very little wear and only has 53,000 miles. This issue is way too common to not be considered as hazardous.
My vehicle has been stalling as of the last week. Less than 36,000 miles. It happens at a complete stop or driving down the road. I was entering the flow of traffic making a left hand turn from a complete stop and my car stalled in the middle of the road. I had to pull over and restart my car. I brought it to my local dealer where this was purchased as they had previously told me there was a recall for the same issue and needed a software update. But when they ran my vin they told me they made a mistake. This is a real safety issue!!! my dealer made the issue even worse, finally they supposedly made some updates and sent me on my way. Thinking the issue was all set. Wrong the following day i had the same issue and continue to have this issue. How do i get my vehicle included in the recall???

While pulling out of parking space engine shut down.while driving on a road the same day vehicle stopped running - engine shut down - had difficulty pulling off road because steering did not work. Taking it in to dealer to look at 5500 miles approx 2.3 mos old. Not happy with new car

The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. After the contact parked and exited the vehicle, she was alerted by someone that the vehicle rolled into the middle of the parking lot. Also, the contact could remove the key from the ignition when the vehicle was not in park. There were no warning indicators illuminated prior to the failure; however, all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel afterwards when the contact started the engine. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 40,533.
I'm having an issue with my 2015 jeep compass (50,000 miles) not only that, the dealership has either no idea how to fix it or they don't want to. If i died, my son would be orphaned. The car is unsafe to drive.on several occasions with no warning my engine has shut down. My car doesn't turn off, it just won't drive anymore . The only light that comes on is the esc activation/malfunction. I have to stop in the middle of the road. Turn the ignition off and turn it back on to get it to go. It has done this at least 10 times now. I nearly got into a accident trying to turn left, and again merging onto the freeway. The steering wheel becomes hard to turn and i can put the gas peddle all the way down, it does not accelerate. No rpms. I have brought it to the dealership to be scanned four times after it has happened. I've been a rental car for three days now. There are no codes in the computer. And they say they need to reproduce the issue in order to fix it. It's a safety issue and i am desperately trying to figure it out.

2015 jeep compass stalls and loses power steering with no warning. It has happened at low speeds in my neighborhood as well as on the highway. The rpms will suddenly drop and then shoot back up and the engine will die. The power steering goes out when the engine dies. No check engine light comes on. No codes given. Sometimes will start immediately others you have to wait a while to restart.
I have taken this vehicle to be looked at at the jeep dealership it was purchased from and at a local body shop. Both places claim there is nothing wrong with it, but every time we drive it on the highway and try to pick up speed, it stalls. There have been a few times when i am trying to pass someone and i begin to accelerate and my jeep will not increase speed and stalls as well. I have to put my foot all the way down on the gas pedal to get it semi moving.i began to research jeep compass recalls and i found this - "chrysler is recalling an estimated 522 vehicles, including the 2014 jeep compass and patriot, 2013 dodge avenger and chrysler 200 equipped with 2.4-liter engines for a potential loss of engine oil pressure that could lead to an engine stall or engine failure." i feel as if my jeep has this same issue.

Oct. 2019, driving on highway, acceleration and speed effected, lose of power. After exiting highway, stopped at red light. Car took two minutes to accelerate from 0 to 30, chugging, rough running. Stopped, turned off ignition. Restarted and ran normal from 10 minutes, then problem repeated three other times. In shop, they replaced and intake sensor and output speed shaft sensor. Cost me $300+ and the output sensory installed did not work, had to replace it with another before car ran right. Car tied up for four days. I am giving up on jeep, poor quality, frequent repairs. This problem on the highway put my safety at risk not being able to control speed and suddenly decelerating in front of following traffic.
Vehicle not starting, unable to accelerate over 20mph, idling, shaking, radio unexpectedly stopped working, vehicle not communicating with the 'computer' ecm
My electronic throttle body failed while driving. I noticed the flashing lightning symbol. This made my vehicle rapidly lose power so i had to stop vehicle immediately. I had vehicle towed to rick hendrick jeep dealership which diagnosed and fixed issue. This was a very expensive repair.
The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. The contact stated that the gear shifter ceased and failed to shift out of neutral and drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the shifter cable and gear shifter to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

Vehcile was involved a a 50 mph front end collision with a guard rail on a state highway.the vehicle suffered extensive front end damage.the airbags did not deploy and the driver's seat belt did not lock up.
About 10 days ago, my jeep compass was involved in an incident where i had to apply my brakes all of the sudden, as a deer jumped right in front of my vehicle, out of bushes. As i was applying brakes, the abs brakes did not engage, as my brake pedal did not tap back, and when jeep finally stopped, driver seatbelt did not lock, as it should have, and i have hit my head on the ceiling, at the point where it meets the windshield. The incident has reoccurred with seatbelt failing to lock again, today, 10 days after the issue was reported to jeep officials, who have failed to take immediate and appropriate action in this potential life threatening matter. As i have excreted all available resources of getting help in this incident resolution,i kindly ask u.s. Government to take charge of this issue and investigate in an appropriate matter, as i may be not the only owner affected by the driver seatbelt failure and this issue needs to be addressed before possible fatalities occur related to similar vehicles being involved in actual mvas and driver seatbelt not engaging the locking mechanism, when needed. As in both incidents mentioned above, my vehicle was in motion coming to a complete stop as a result of brake pedal application. Both incidents took place on rural roads with average speed limit of 45mph.*dt
Plastic pieces that hold seat belts and handle to adjust seats are both broken off.
Complaint that rail on driver and passenger sliding seat sticks out to far and has sharp edges that can damage a persons leg. I have pictures.
The active head restraint system headrest on the passenger side busted open. Plastic pieces are broken inside the headrest. No one was injured but needs replaced/repaired. The vehicle was parked at the time. In researching for repairs, it appears this has been quite common with repairs +$600.
The active restraint headrest broke and the padded area popped out yesterday (01/11) while sitting in the car in a parking lot. The plastic holding the catch pin broke and it cannot be reset.
Head rest restraint popped off with no impact while driving down the street.tabs failed inside and released headrest in back of drivers head while in motion causing distraction of motor vehicle operation.
The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, he heard an abnormal sound and saw the front passengerā€™s headrest had partially deployed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that his son was seated in the front passengerā€™s seat and indicated that his head was hurting after the failure occurred but did not seek medical attention. The contact called the local dealer but had not been able to speak to anyone. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.
The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. While driving and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle made a loud screeching sound without warning. The contact took the vehicle to antwerpen chrysler jeep (6440 baltimore national pike, baltimore, md 21228, (410) 788-2973) where the brakes were replaced. Soon after the vehicle was repaired, the failure occurred again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there were no recalls listed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 54,710.

I purched my car in 2015, and from day one there was a squelling sound coming from the wheels. When i took it to the dealler to be looked at, i was told that the front left wheel was out of lined.i had the alinement done, by the dealer, so they said that they alined the wheels; but the squelling did not stop.a few months later i took the car back and was told that i needed brake shoses on the rear, which was replaced.i still was not happy.now, at 32,000 miles i am told that i need new tiries and a wheels alinement. I am not a happy customer!! there has to be something more going on with the wheels on this car. The wheels are still squelling!!
The power steering return hose was in contact with the front suspension sway bar at curb condition with the vehicle stationary. The sway bar moves a couple inches with suspension travel and this will rub on the power steering hose considerably and can where a hole causing loss of power steering assist and a flammable fluid spraying in the engine and exhaust area. I know for a fact that fca has been shipping vehicles like this in direct violation of their safe design guidelines or at least 1.5 years now from july of 2014 until now.i worked at fca in 2014 and told them to contain this issue on multiple occasions and i was ignored by my fca management and plant quality people.

While pulling out of parking space engine shut down.while driving on a road the same day vehicle stopped running - engine shut down - had difficulty pulling off road because steering did not work. Taking it in to dealer to look at 5500 miles approx 2.3 mos old. Not happy with new car
The vehicle shuts down on 3 different occasions. Lost all power to the vehicle, left stranded 3 times only to be jumped started, this should not happen with a new vehicle with one owner, and limited driving. All times the vehicle was stationary.
2015 jeep compass - the vehicle will drive fine then all of a sudden i will have difficulties accelerating, the vehicle also has stalled. I had a diagnostic test done by a local mechanic and the results came back normal, i had a diagnostic test done by the dealership and the test came back normal as well and that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle however there was this persistent issue of not being able to accelerate and stalling. The dealership had my vehicle for approximately 2 weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with the car and has now concluded that it is the throttle body(i believe this is a wild guess) and will cost me 1400 dollars. I have seen recent recalls on jeep compasses that have very similar issues that are for the 2016 and 2017 models that involve the crank shaft sensor. I am very concerned i believe there is something seriously wrong with the way the vehicle built and even if i have the throttle body fixed its really a deeper issue because all diagnostic testing is coming back normal.
A rattle noise in the back compartment when i drive the car. Sounds like something broken inside the trunk compartment.
The dip stick tube has broken off. It was making a noise like something dragging the ground so i looked under it & saw where the tube was barely hanging on. I was near my home when i found this.
Check engine light came on 3 times in 3 months from september 2016 to november 2016. Each time, the vehicle was taken in for service and the light still came back on. The first time, the fuel level unit was replaced, the second time, there were no problems found and the system was reset, the third time, the pump assembly was replaced. This is a safety issue and a hassle.
Both headrests have deployed in this vehicle since owning it and not involved in any accident whatsoever it blew out as i was driving and could have caused an accident it was loud and unexpected.
My jeep needs major repairs, and i don't have the funds. I was told that i have a throttle problem along with some transmission issues. But in order to even look at the transmission, the throttle has to be repaired first, and they want $600 for that?
The engine shuts down while driving
While driving at a constant speed without being rear ended passenger side headrest deployed slamming into the back of the passenger head. Passengerā€™s head was knocked forward with violent force.there have been reports of others having the same thing happen with the headrest in the jeep compass. Police were not notified.dealership will be contacted this week aboutthe headrest malfunction.
I started my2015 jeep compass sport and tried to shift out park into reverse and it wouldn't let me shift for about thirty seconds or so. I was at the store ready to leave for home.
Vehicle spontaneously caught fire. While at a drive thru window i heard a pop near the steering wheel and the fire shot out from under the dash in the area of the steering wheel. The whole car then became engulfed in flames. I sustained 3rd degree burns of my stomach and right thigh
And they say they need to reproduce the issue in order to fix it. It's a safety issue and i am desperately trying to figure it out.
Some how driversw. Tariqyear of birth: 1987driver license: 29xxxxxxlicense state: pathis car owner is shafaqe tariq kindly please change the information.
The headrest on the driver's side seat exploded against my head while i was driving.i took it to the body shop and the mechanic saw that the plastic piece that holds the headrest down broke.looking at the headrest you can see jagged pieces of plastic.
This vehicle slips out gear easily while in motion.the gear shift can knocked out of drive and this is dangerous because you then have to find a spot to stop and put the car back into drive. This has happened on the street .this has happened several times (daughter accidentally hit it with her knee, purse strap fell over the shift, bag pulled it out of drive).
My car wasn't moving when it caught a spark and started a fire between the middle console.
Check engine light came on,throttle control light starts flashing, traction control light starts flashing, remote start cuts out. Idle becomes irregular and vehicle runs rough to not being able to accelerate but will idle in park at over 2000 rmps. Vehicle only has barely 19000 miles. It had to be towed to dealership.

Takata recall the throttle control indicator came on and then i started having issues with being able to accelerate. The check engine light came onand the throttle indicator light went off and come back on randomly. I was told that there are two sensors that have been know to go bad on jeeps and one if not both would need to be replaced. There was no warning just lost all acceleration capability going 60mph in motion on the highway.

Rough idle, spotty acceleration, remote start cuts out, engine light, ebs light, throttle control light all come on, higher rpm this issue sounds like multiple others that people have had, but there's no recall for my vin?. The attached description from another person is exactly what is happening to mine. My vehicle has 62500 miles.
While driving my vehicle at the normal speed it suddenly begins to slow down to a snail pace.the throttle light and the stability light came on
I have had my 2015 jeep compass for 2 year and 8 months. I bought it used. Since the moment i bought it, i have had acceleration issues.my car won't shift into gear immediately when i make turns.just recently the throttle control light started blinking.as of today the light came on and stayed on.i was unable to drive over 20 mph and then i wasn't able to accelerate anymore. I had to pull over and shut the car off, i waited a few minutes and restarted the car. As soon as i made a u-turn the light come back on. I played with the different drive settings as a coasted back home. Once i made it home (6 minutes) the throttle light went off and the check engine light came on.
Vehicle not starting, unable to accelerate over 20mph, idling, shaking, radio unexpectedly stopped working, vehicle not communicating with the 'computer' ecm
Rear view mirror became unattached & took a chunk of the windshield glass out. Vehicle was parked & happened overnight.
The contact owns a 2015 jeep compass. The contact stated that there had been a progressing failure with a leak coming from the sunroof. The vehicle was not inspected or diagnosed by a dealer as of yet. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
