Entered bank parking to useatm machine, at that time when stepped on brake to stop the car, it accelerated like someone was stepping on gas pedal. At that time i tried to stop the car by shifting into another gear and also tried pulling key out of the ignition. At that time knew i had to get car stopped without hurting anyone, so there was a wooded area behind bank, i ran car into area that had huge rocks which i ran over and therefore hit a tree head on to stop my car. The car was still running would not shut off and would not still charge gears or car would not shut off and the air bags did not deploy (any of them).not sure if this is a brake, engine, transmission, computer, air bag, or a combination problem.

I have been trying to get in contact with bensons chrysler dodge jeep ram in greer sc since the spring of 2019 about recalls on my jeep. Finally, my dad decided to just call chrysler and they sent us to the big o which is in greenville sc the instructed us they would order the parts and call us when they come in. It has been about 7 months since we called them in either june or july about this and since it is airbags and seatbelts we are very concerned with my safety if i was to get into a wreck.

The potential loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability during a crash may increase the risk of injury in a crash.

I received a notification in december of 2016 for a recall on my 2013 jeep compass involving seat belts and airbags, yet there is no fix to this problem yet. As this is a safety concern, this issue should be remedied immediately.

Around 80,000 miles my car stopped accelerating and appeared to stay in 1st gear (i drive an automatic).luckily, i was driving on a residential street.then the check engine light, the traction light, and a red lightning bolt light turn on.when i took the car to the dealership they diagnosed the car needs a new throttle body, wiring, and a new battery.the battery ended up failing shortly after i brought it into the shop.

While accelerating on an on ramp the electronic throttle control began to chock off power to the engine and began an eradicate pulsation causing the car to slow down.there was a delay and then the throttle kicked in.the indicator light turned off.about fifteen minutes later the car was slow to accelerate.the warning light, flickered but did not stay on. The engine only has 46,000 miles on it and is mostly driven on flat roads.

I bought this car from a dealership 3 months ago and it had 41,000 miles on it. I have since driven an additional 3,000. This morning as i was getting on the highway, the 'electronic throttle control' light came on and caused my car to stall twice. The highest speed i was able to go was 30 mph. This is very dangerous as i was in motion on a busy highway. When i bought the car, the dealership claimed to have checked the car entirely for problems yet i am having to carry it back for maintenance. I read another complaint on this discussion from earlier in the week with this same problem, and i think it needs to be addressed.

During commute on tues 6/21 vehicle began to experience deaccelaration;following day vehicle seemed to resume working; by fri. 6/24 vehicle began to display the same performance issue

Front driver's side exterior side view mirror is a motorized mirror and has a heating element inside the mirror. Something electrical inside the mirror caused enough heat for the mirror to melt and go on fire. The vehicle was parked, unoccupied and not running at the time of the fire.

Faulty tipm shortly out some electrical relays. Stationary cooling fans don't shut off even when ignition key is off. Ac blower fans intimidate on and off. At chrysler dealership for 10 days. All relays changed 'all sensors change. Tipm diagnosis says short in tipm. $1500.00 part after repair of relays and sensors. Total $2500+. Bill. Awaiting new tipm to come in.chrysler can't guarantee that that will fix the problems.

"takata recall"my jeep goes to the dealership for everything. I recently just got an inspection. My jeep has 67,000 mile on it. I have had 2 recalls, in which have not been fixed due to lack of parts. When i got my jeep back after my inspection, i notice the vehicle seemed to be lagging when i hit the gas pedal. This morning a light flickered on then off, so i looked in my user guide to see what it was. It was the electronic throttle control light. I was in the middle of accelerating onto an interstate, which could have been fatal. I am more than pissed right now. I had been a devoted chevy fan for years, and wanted top give jeep a shot. But at this point, i'm ready to ditch this lemon, and go back to my chevy roots.

Recurring problem- transmission fluid temperature lighthas gone on and vehicle slows or stops abrubtly during 1 hour orlonger trip onhighway. Had the car in jeep dealer 3 times. Contacted jeep corporate directly , they didnt return last calls. No progress. Port jeff jeep dealer (where we purchased 6 months ago) is servicing vehicle.concerned about the inability to accelerate as problem occurs on highway- sudden drop in speed poses a danger. Dont want to wait till rear endeded.4 events on 11/19/2016, 11/30/2016 and 12/12/2016.

I was driving on the pa turnpike approximately 65 mph, when i stepped on the gas and the car would not accelerate.my car was basically coasting as cars and tractor trailers were flying by me at 70+ mph. I managed to get off the road safely, and all the lights on my dashboard were going crazy. Had the car towed to the dealership and they told me it's the "throttle body" - regulates the flow of fuel to the engine - electrical failure.

Engine cutting out and stalling, not getting above 45 without jarring and trying to stall out.i have had kendall auto group in soldotna, alaska trying to diagnose and repair since march 2019.they have had star cases opened with chrysler technicians.it's been a guessing game.they have returned the car to me several times saying it was fixed. Only to have it stall out on me.once having to get it towed back to there facility.at times it was over a month before any communication to be.

Electronic stability control problems with my 2013 jeep compass. 2 times already(one on the highway)where i am driving and the light comes on causing my vehicle to lose power and travel at a much slower speed(my speed drops). This is extremely dangerous. If this is a recall, jeep, please look into this before this defect kills someone. First there was a defect in which my transmission needed to be replaced the year after i purchased it. Now this. If its a recall, please reach out to owners before someone loses their life

I bought this jeep june 25th 2015. I have had it in the shop 3 times, and i continue to have the same problem.the problem is with the traction control system. Repairs have been done to the traction control system even before i bought the vehicle. The car fax shows where it had been in the shop to have the struts were replaced back on april 25, 2014. It also shows that it had to have two tires replaced on 6/8/2015. I have taken the vehicle in 3 times to have the same issue corrected. Work orders from 7/18/2015, 8/25/2015 and 9/3/2015.i continue to have problems with it that i do not drive it. I feel it is unsafe. I feel any moment i could cause an accident that could hurt myself or someone else. The vehicle has swirled two times on me so bad that it almost caused me to hit the wall. If i had not stopped the vehicle fast enough, i would have hit the wall. If a car would have been on my right, i would have hit it. The vehicle had to be towed from the service road of the highway.

Electronic throttle control and electronic stability control indicator lights turn on and vehicle goes into "limp" mode creating the inability to accelerate over 10mph. When pulling out in front of oncoming traffic, the jeep stalls and then goes into limp mode. Serious safety concern with not being able to accelerate in these scenarios. Has happened ever since the jeep had 50,000 miles and has continued to the point the vehicle is no longer drivable as of june 2020 (issues began in jan 2019). Extreme hesitation has occurred when trying to accelerate on an on-ramp also creating a safety hazard as to not get up to the appropriate speed to safely merge with traffic. Cvt transmission began overheating at 55,000 miles, also causing the jeep to go into limp mode.

When making a left turn the traction control light sensor flashes and power is lost to the axles.this happens for at least ten seconds.the car is going less than 20 mph on dry road conditions. This has happened on two different occasions.i took it to the dealer and they said there was no issue. After i took it to the dealer it happened again.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated she also started to hear an abnormal noise. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact drove to her residence. The contact called zappone chrysler jeep dodge ram clifton park located at 1780 al-9, clifton park, ny 12065, (518) 383-2277, and made the dealer aware of the failure. The contact stated an independent mechanic came to her residence and informed her the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

2013 jeep compass transmission fill tube broke off. It appears to be a manufacturer design defect as it is not in a place where it could be bumped or broken driving the vehicle. Discovered the issue driving on a city street and heard a noise. I had not hit a bump or run over anything. An online search showed that this has happened often in different jeep models 2011 and later. Dealer refuses to fix it due to it not being specified in the warranty. There is no reason for it to be in the warranty as it is not a serviceable part and should never need to be replaced. We contacted a couple of other auto shops and were told each time they can't fix it because they don't even have that part in their systems and have never heard of this happening.

Purchased 2013 jeep compass with 109,000 miles. Noticed it burned oil bad. Replaced spark plugs, changed oil to synthetic as recommend and filter. Continued to have excessive oil burn. 3 bottles every 2 weeks. Was driving it and heard a loud noise and something didnt feel right., she pulled over as oil light came on. Now oil was checked and was full prior to driving 40 minutes, now oil light on, checked oil and was low. Had to call a tow truck, had it towed to garage and engine is fried. At 111,000 miles, needs a whole new engine. Engine it is is a 2.4l . If my daughter didnt think quick to pull off the road and stop, this would have been a horrible accident

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 400 and the current mileage was 11,606.

Actuator throttle body sensor is showing a warning on my dash with a code of p2173

Driving my car and the engine revved, the lightning bolt light came one, and the lost ability to move at more than 5mph. I pulled off the road and let it sit for a few minutes. Started it back up and it was fine. Got it home and to the dealer the next day. Dealer assured me they knew exactly what it was and could fix it. Got it back a few days later and it was fine. Fast forward a few months, my teenage daughter was driving and did the same thing. She managed to get off the road, a 4 lane major highway, safely and call me. Called the dealer and had it towed. Was told they checked everything over and reset the computer it should be good to go. Again, car was fine for a little while and the whole process started over. Again, the third time, had it towed to the dealer. They called and were unable to replicate the issue and could see nothing wrong with it. Their advice was the next time it happened to leave the car running and have it towed to them still running so they could see what was going on.this had been going on for 4 years now. Really, that is your expert advice. I do not drive it much anymore and had to purchase a new car for my daughter because this thing is a death trap. Cant wait until the day i can unload it, will never own another jeep in my life.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. The contact stated that their vehicle decelerated and began to smoke. The contact then pulled over and placed the vehicle in park. The hood was opened and and excessive flames were visible. The fire grew larger from out of the hood. The contact's friend came out side and extinguished the fire with their own fire extinguisher. A police report was not made. The contact called baxter chrysler jeep dodge (17950 burt st suite 200, omaha, ne 68118 (402) 800-1230). The vehicle was diagnosed. The mechanics stated that the fuel line failed. Mechanics set up an appointment for tomorrow. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure mileage was 74,000.the vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. The contact stated after receiving notification of nhtsa campaign i.d. 13v120000 (fuel system, gasoline), the contact called the dealer to schedule an appointment. The dealer stated that they did not have the part needed to perform the recall repair. The contact called the dealer again, months later and was advised that although they did have the part available, they did not have the accompanying tool needed to perform the repair. The contact did call the manufacturer. The contact had not experienced a failure. Updated 10/17/13*lj

Fuel emissions system. Repeated check engine light warning indications have been seen in this vehicle over the past year. Repeated trips to the dealership for service resulted in components being replaced erroneously. Most recent replacement required entire replacement of fuel tank and hoses due to excessive corrosion and deformation of the tank. The vehicle has approximately 65,000 miles of operation. This repeated issue has cost several hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs, lost time from work, and extreme concern over the safety of the vehicle's fuel system and emissions monitoring components. Degree of corrosion and level of failure on seals as reported by service technician seems very hazardous for the age and use history of vehicle.

There is a severe problem with the electronic throttle control. This started as a minor annoyance and now i cannot drive my car. Driving on the highway the red lightening light starts flashing and i lose all ability to accelerate my car. It is very dangerous driving 70mph and having to abruptly slow and pull to the side of the road. This now happens everytime i drive my car. I will be driving around town and will continuously have to pull over to turn my car off. Now i cant even turn my car on without the electronic throttle control light on. The car idles rough and the handbook say to turn the car off immediately when it does this. This almost left me stranded in the middle of the night from driving over the pass. This is a serious issue that i have come across and it is unsafe to drive with out being able to aaccelerate with the flow of traffic.

Cvt transmission over heating during normal driving conditions. Dangerously dropping into limp mold at highway speeds without warning or ability to override for safety. Early full system transmission failure without no options for repair. Finally died by making whining noise, going into limp mode and staying there.the excessive cost of replacing the transmission makes not cost effective. Only option is to replace the vehicle altogether.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. While driving 70 mph, the rpms increased to 3,200 and a whining noise was heard underneath the vehicle. The vehicle started to lose power when approaching an exit ramp. In addition, the emergency and transmission temperature warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to drive going through an intersection at 2 mph. The contact was able to coast the vehicle into a fuel station. The contact checked the owner's manual, which indicated to allow the vehicle to idle and place the gear shifter into neutral. The contact performed the steps, but the failures recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who added transmission fluid to the transmission. Afterwards, the contact continued driving and the rpms increased to 2,700. The vehicle was coasted over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to reineke motors chrysler dodge (located at 1045 e wyandot ave, upper sandusky, oh 43351, (419) 549-9284). The mechanic called the contact two days later and diagnosed that the cvt failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. While driving 75 mph, the automatic transmission warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle independently shifted from high gear to a lower gear. The contact stated that the transmission overheated. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000. The vin was not available. Updated 11/29/16*lj

While driving 70 mph down i4 the automatic transmission light came on, vehicle would not accelerate anymore and was forced to pull over to wait for the vehicle to cool down. This is the 4th time this has happened with the vehicle since buying it brand new in 2013. The issues starting in april 2015, with 35000 miles on the car. Jeep continues to say that they cannot replicate the issue.

I purchased this jeep a year ago very low mileage. About 2 weeks into it the jeep started heating up. Long story short this vehicle at its 100k miles needed a transmission replacement that cost me over 3000.00 with such little mileage i believe this is a manufacture error., ive heard several of these jeep compasses needing transmissions under 100k miles

Early morning. Going n on i-75, exiting on exit 22 (glades parkway). Slowing down to exit, my daughter perceived a burning odor inside thecar, i tried to keep reducing the speed but the car accelerated by itself and the steering wheel locked, the exit curve was in front of us and thanks god we crashed into the sidewalk border, where the car went over the grass with the front right wheel, scratched the underneath and that allowed us to get out of the grass and stop the car. I am truly scared of getting into that car again.as a mater of fact, just thinking what may have happened, i do not want that car anymore, so i want to know what options do i have. Axle, suspension system, rack & pinion, bearings, wheel, engine supports, and more damaged.

Transmission overheating while moving on cruise control for a long period of time that speeds between 65 and 75 miles per hour.problem appears intermittent when ambient temperature is over 80 degrees fahrenheit.dangerous shift to low-power mode making vehicle incapable of maintaining speed.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. While driving approximately 70 mph, the transmission warning light illuminated and the contact heard a whining sound emerging from the transmission area. The contact had to merge to the side of the highway to a complete stop. The contact let the vehicle cool down for approximately 15 minutes and it resumed normal operation. The failure recurred three other times before the contact reached his destination. The vehicle was driven to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Traveling at 70 mph, the transmission over heating light came on. The jeep lost all power. After about 30 minutes the light went off. We pulled to safe location. Jeep still didn't have much power.transmission sounded awful. Jeep was taken home on a flatbed. Now i am being told because it has 101340 miles the warranty is over.dealership is saying because the code light is off they can't do anything.

The vehicle was in motion going uphill 3 separate times, once in a 30 minute drive (70 mile round trip), the other 2 times, both 3.5 hours in( 300 mile trip one way) and the transmission light came on. The car began to decelerate rapidly and on the 30 minute trip, i had to turn around and start going down hill as the car would no longer go up hill. The 2nd time, i happened to be by a walmart, after a 3.5 hour drive, going uphill for about 15 minutes after decelerating to about 30 mph in a 70 (3-5 degree grade), and bought some transmission fluid and added it to the transmission. It appeared to do the job ( the rest of the trip was downhill), but on the return trip home 3 days later, 3.5 hours in and going uphill 3-5 degree grade, the car started to decelerate and would not go above 50 mph for the remainder of the trip (5 hour total trip one way). After making it within 30 miles of being home, i started running into surface street traffic and during the stop and go the car would accelerate very slowly and showed very little power. The car has 76k miles and i would not expect this to happen to a relatively gently used car still under warranty.

I was driving my vehicle at the speed limit (60-65 on freeway) the tachometer soared to about 3500and the vehicle made a noise.it lost all power and i had no control.i almost hit another motorist trying to get off the freeway.when i turned left or tried to at the top of the exit the vehicle wouldn't move that's when the transmission temp indicator light came on. I finally turned left and the vehicle traveled about 2-5 mph. I stopped at a gas station and looked the light up in the owners manual.according to the manual if you put the vehicle in neutral and idle for a bit the light will go off.we did so and then drove around a bit sending it still wasn't right we then went to a service station who put tranny fluid in it.and we continued to drive home.about 3 hrs later, the vehicle tachometer started to climb again.we pulled over again off the freeway in safe location.i called emergency roadside assistance. Vehicle was towed to jeep chrysler dealership.once the dealership had time to inspect the vehicle i was told the cvt transmission was ruined.this is the first time we took this vehicle anywhere further than 20 mins from home!this transmission is a known problem as the warranty manual stipulated.it's unsafe as and my family lost power and almost hit a car without any warnings.i've called chrysler and they won't do anything about this issue.on this particular day we were in hilly southern ohio on a hot day.seriously how is it fair or even legal to sell such a vehicle that won't stand up to typical driving conditions without threatening my life?this tranny is junk it's all over the internet.the dealer we got our rental car from said he wouldn't buy them or sell them because they are a mechanical defect. I want this thingrecalled before it fails someone else and someone dies in the accident as i almost did. 06/25/2019

2013 jeep compass latitude. Cvt trans heard up and stops all power. Have to pull over and let cool and repeat process every 10 miles or so

It is dealing witj the trasmission temperature. Driving with or without the air conditioning on for a period of time of a speed of 60. The light comes on the car begins to make a whining noise and the car begins to lose speed or power. I than have to cut on the heater at a high temperature to help with circulation to the area. I have to pull over cut vehicle off. For 5 or more minutes tham continue on until it starts over again.

Dangerously dropping into limp mode without warning or ability to override for safety. Early full system transmission failure without no options for repair.finally died by making whining noise, going into limp mode and staying there. The excessive cost of replacing the transmission makes it not cost effective. Only option is to replace the vehicle altogether.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. While driving 30 mph, the steering wheel seized and extra force was needed to steer the vehicle. The contact also stated that the transmission felt like it downshifted while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the outer tie rod needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Cvt overheats at approximately 45 minutes of highway driving causing the vehicle to quickly loose power and become undriveable. This then strands the driver for nearly 30 minutes until it cools enough and the warning light goes off and then can then be driven again.

In the summer of 2016, the cvt transmission started overheating. It was a very dangerous situation, as the car would lose power on the highway. You would have to coast to the shoulder and sit there for 20 minutes for the car to cool down. However, when we would take it to the dealer it would not show any error codes. This happened many times. We finally took it to another dealer and they had heard of this issue. It would happen very oftenon days with high outside temps. The other dealer replaced the cvt transmission last summer under warranty. However, this may as soon as it started to heat up outside, it started again.again no codes when they check. This is happening every day. Now the dealer refuses to help. From what i have found on the internet, this issue is way to common on this transmission.

While driving 70 mph down i4 the automatic transmission light came on, vehicle would not accelerate anymore and was forced to pull over and had the vehicle towed. This hashappened twice with the vehicle since buying it brand new in 2013. The issue happened with 36k miles on the car. Jeep continues to say that they cannot replicate the issue.

I already filed a complain about this incident.my purpose now is to notify the incredibly bad customer service and interest the chrysler corp took regarding this incident.to start, they played every excuse to avoid going to the body shop to inspect the jeep, and i kept telling them there was a burning smell right before the accident happened and the jeep started malfunctioning and speeding on its own.when they finally got to the shop, i understand the review was a very superficial one and of course, their conclussion was that nothing was wrong with the car.in a word, they did not bother trying to find out why the burning smell, if some electrical or circuit was bad, they just did not care.this lack of interest from them about the possibility of avoiding future accidents that may result in loss of human lives or bad injuries got me very upset to a apoint that as soon as the jeep got out of the body shop and was repaired, i traded it for a reliable vehicle, and i surely do not recommend anyone i know to buy a car mnanufactured by the chrysler group.

I received a notification in december of 2016 for a recall on my 2013 jeep compass involving seat belts and airbags, yet there is no fix to this problem yet. As this is a safety concern, this issue should be remedied immediately.

While driving, banging noise from rear and front suspension was heard.squealing noise (metal on metal) also heard from brakes. Mechanic inspected undercarriage and saw undercarriage was thoroughly rusted which damaged front and rear suspension and brakes. Was informed of danger in driving and advised to get to dealer immediately. Brakes damaged inside to the outside due to rust. All brake system parts were replaced. Mechanic also had to grind away rust to prevent further damage. Mechanic claimed this was the worst amount of rust he had seen in 20 year career. Repairs totaled $784.44. May also have affected radiator as well. Heat now not working and prestone turns red from rust.

Hello,3/4/2015my brother bought a 2013 jeep compass on his birthday of the same year.over the last few (4-6) months, we have cut our fingers, repeatedly on the chrome covering the doors handles. We are not talking paper cuts nor are we describing emergency room visits, we are describing a very deep and open slice, mostly to the nerves of our finger tips, causing me to miss work. Furthermore, i have a compromised immune system (hiv) & my bodies ability to repair and heal is much longer than others. My most recent injury has cause dangerous complications with a high fever, leading to a very stressful mental and physical well being.i thought i would mention this to everyone, only because i was indeed, in need of a compassionate csr, instead i was brushed off with a case number and a suggestion to repair the handles and any out of pocket expense, would be reimbursed. I've made attempt after attempt and no one with chrysler has ever kept their word to call me back............ Well, it did not take very long ( the very next day), that i sliced another finger causinganother traumatic attack on my nervous system, mostly because prescribed blood thinners and bleeding wounds are very frightening and not easy to control.i'm afraid to say, i feel, i've been taken advantage........... In my case, however, this was not my greatest disappointment, but trying to communicate with customer service has been.i hope that my influence can prepare other consumers with their complaints to be patient and steadfast in documenting all discussions with names, dates and times. More importantly research very carefully your next automobile purchase. Great mpg are not the only necessitates of buying a vehicle. Be absolutely, sure that you can trust in the manufacturer and their reputation.good day all,[xxx]forest falls, ca.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I rented a 2013 jeep compass from enterprise in houston. While exiting the vehicle, the shoe on my left foot snagged on an obstruction on the left side of the floorboard. While freeing my foot, i inadvertently unlatched the hood. I failed to notice the hood was unlatched until i was on the interstate and traveling 70 mph and noticed the hood was loose. The safety latch keep the hood closed until i was able to slow down and exit the freeway. My inspection of the hood latch release lever shows that it stands proud of the plastic side panel by approximately 3/8". It is easily snagged by a shoe while exiting the vehicle. The release operates by pulling it horizontally to the rear of the vehicle and unless you hear the hood unlatch, there is no warning until you are driving fast enough to notice the hood bouncing. A failure of the safety latch could result in the hood flying open against the windshield and possibly causing a wreck.

I had my jeep in for regular service & it was discovered to have a rusted subframe. It was suggested to take it to the dealer. I made the appointment. It was evaluated & determined that my vin was not included in the extended warranty, even though it is the same issue with prematurely rusting. I contacted jeep customer care on two occasions, but they will not help. The cost to replace the subframe is over $1,300. It is a safety issue & if not repaired will continue to corrode & diminish the handling of my jeep as well as the structural support.

I started having problems in 09/11/2015 with my rear right control arm the rubber bushing gave out and the control arm was squeaking very loudly, i complained to the dealer and they gave me a goodwill service charge of $100 but after i asked if the control arm on the left also went bad would they also honor the goodwill they told me that it would be my problem. The left side of the rear control bushing has gone bad in feb of 2016 now i have to fix this thing. I know that if it fails completely i could have a control problem. Would you please look into this. I have called chrysler jeep and all they said that it is not a recall but i know that other jeeps are have this same problem. Would you please intervene in this potentially dangerous problem, the happens when the vehicle is moving.

It is dealing with the trasmission temperature. Driving with or without the air conditioning on for a period of time of a speed of 60. The light comes on the car begins to make a whining noise and the car begins to lose speed or power. I than have to cut on the heater at a high temperature to help with circulation to the area. I have to pull over cut vehicle off. For 5 or more minutes then continue on until it starts over again. This has happened multiple times. No one can figure out what is wrong with the car.

Headrest deploys while no crash has happened

Around 80,000 miles my car stopped accelerating and appeared to stay in 1st gear (i drive an automatic).luckily, i was driving on a residential street.then the check engine light, the traction light, and a red lightning bolt light turn on.when i took the car to the dealership they diagnosed the car needs a new throttle body, wiring, and a new battery.the battery ended up failing shortly after i brought it into the shop.

The contact owned a 2013 jeep compass. While driving approximately 45 mph, the driver saw flames in the rearview mirror. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver saw flames underneath the hood. The driver attempted to open the hood, but was unable to do so. The fire department was called, but before they arrived, there was a loud explosion and the vehicle became momentarily engulfed in flames. The vehicle was totaled and the remnants were towed to a tow yard. A fire report was filed. There were no injuries reported. The dealer was contacted (california motors, santa ana, ca, 714-515-6100) and stated that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that an investigator would be sent out, but no one showed up. The contact did not receive notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v668000 (seat belts, air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. Consumer stated jeep/chrysler instead of taking responsiblity for a malfunction on the 2013 jeep compass that engulfed in flame and could have trapped my son inside after the doors wouldn't open as also effected my credit amongst the other problems caused by the event. I took to dealership and they said they can't tell me what is wrong with out the light being on at the moment i bring it there, the light comes on and the vehicle shuts down no possible way to even drive it when this happens, i have had numerous people trouble shoot and seems like they are just taking my money and not solving this issue, it seems to be a factory issue and needs to be fixed, being on the highway at a fast rate of speed and loosing power is unsafe. I will be looking for another vehicle. 1 affected product

Takata recall- i was driving down the interstate at about 65 miles per hour and noticed that my jeep started to slow down even though i was pressing the gas pedal. I was able to get off the interstate and onto an exit ramp but once i reached the top of the exit ramp my jeep would not go any further. I then turned the engine off & when i tried to restart it the jeep would not start. Another driver attempted to jump it off but that did not work. That is when i noticed the light for "electronic throttle control" illuminated when trying to crank the jeep.

Front driver's side exterior side view mirror is a motorized mirror and has a heating element inside the mirror. Something electrical inside the mirror caused enough heat for the mirror to melt and go on fire. The vehicle was parked, unoccupied and not running at the time of the fire.

The contact owns a 2013 jeep compass. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, there was a short between the wires within the driver's side exterior power mirror which caused a fire and the mirror motor melted. The flames were extinguished by the fire department. A fire report was not filed. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The failure mileage was unavailable.
