Air bag light stays on while driving. After shutting the car off and restarting, the airbag light still is on. I'm afraid that my airbags will not work if i am ever in an accident.

2008 jeep compass.consumer seeks reimbursement for clock spring replacement.

The jeep compass 2008 truck was on the highway and it turn on the airbag light and it started to turn it of and back on until it just left a solid airbag light. My vehicle hasn't in no accidents or any off rode use.

T-bone accident - 1 suv ran red light - hit jeep at ca. 50 mph on passenger side, and hit other suv which was parallel to and left of jeep. Jeep traveled at ca. 20 mp (green light) air bags did not deploy on jeep, did on other two suvs which were bigger suvs - jeep driver sustained many injuries since airbags did not deploy*dt

I finance this jeep in 2014. Only had the car for 2yrs. Currently making payments on the car. My jeep just stop running on me. Took it in first problem the alternator had it replace. Then while driving it stop running again now i'm told it's my tipm. Which is gonna cost me over $1,000 to have that replace. Did some research on it.a lot of other ppl are complaining bout the same issue with the tipm. Something needs to be done bout this problem. To many issues with thatsame part. I had my jeep tow 4 times.

I pulled into a parking lot and noticed a muffled humming noise, located it under the hood near the steering wheel. It was coming from the t.i.p.m. Then my vehicle instrument panel lit up, interior overheadlights went out, door locks and security system stopped working, headlights went out, a/c stopped cooling, wipers, turn signals stopped. The car was still running, and the windows and sunroof worked. I tried to leave quickly to go home, but the car wouldn't come out of park because apparently that is electronic controlled also. I looked up online and found that the fuse box/ totally integrated power modulator is where the noise was coming from. It is the brain of the car. I read that there have been thousands of this vehicle makers models with this problem. I was lucky that i was parked when this happened. There have been others that were driving when there controls and lights and signals go out. There have been so many malfunctions that the part was/is on national backorder. This could get not only the owners and families hurt, but other drivers on the road as well. If your car develops brain damage while in operation. Apparently the company is doing nothing about this. It controls all areas of functions of the vehicle and you cant properly or safely operate a vehicle without it.

Etc and traction control light come on for no reason resulting in immediate loss of power at speeds above 50mph. Extremely dangerous when in motion on highway. Issue also occurs while merging/ turning while accelerating, car is usually stationery first. This issue is wide spread in the jeep community. Hopefully this hasnt killed someone already.

The brake light switch shorted out causing the brake lights to fail, transmission to shift incorrectly (stuck in wrong gear), and melt electrical wires inside the dashboard. The first symptom was the vehicle would not shift out of park. This can be overridden with a release switch. While driving the vehicle to the dealership for repair, the brakes light failed to engage when the brake pedal was pushed as well as causing extremely poor performance from the transmission. The transmission would not shift properly, which caused speed and control instability. Due to the electrical short in the brake light module, it caused several additional wires to overheat and melt. I have serious concerns for anyone else this happens to. I believe there is a serious design flaw that would allow a faulty brake light switch to hinder the operation of the vehicle in such a way that could cause serious injury or death. Why did the short not blow a fuse? typically, that should happen with an electrical short. Please investigate.

Car drove fine. Went to work for 8 hours. Came out and the car wouldn't turn over. Replaced the battery and starter. Still nothing. Called a dealer and they advised that it was the wireless control modular. After reaching in the internet looks like many 2008 jeep compass' have had this problem.

I can be at full speed my car would reduce speed or completely shut down in the middle of driving

When filling the gas tank all the way up. The car locked up steering was uncontralloble brakes were locking on and off like jumping and almost hit an oncoming car. Car shutoff and went turn back on until 5 minutes in was in full motion going 55mph on a city street. Scariest time i've ever been driving. Now that i have researched there is numerous complaints of the same instance happening to others. Having to do with when the fuel tank is all the way full. Literally could have died. Someone will get badly injured or death if this is not corrected.

The subframe is rotting out to the point it's dangerous to drive

My husband was driving the speed limit which was 70mph.all of a sudden the car slowed down to 40mph.it would not go any faster.he even tried to give it a little more gas but it still would not go any faster.then it slowed down to 35 then 30.there was nothing you could do.it sounded like the transmission would not shift. It sounded like it was in a lower gear and would not shift to a higher gear. The car then started to over heat.we opened the sun roof, rolled down the windows and turned off the ac.we even turned the heat on as recommended in the manual but no luck.we ended up havingto stop.on the interstate this was horrible.i thought we were going to be hit from behind.people are going to fast and even though your in the right lane they don't slow down but try to go around you.it's the people who can't get over into the left lane and just about run over you that is terrifying.we were told by the chrysler dealership that this happened to the jeep compass all the time.sometimes 1-2 times or 2-3 times.they will diagnose the problem and fix it.how can you fix something after its run the transmission so hard?my thing is put a new transmission in it and whatever else it needs new.we have a bumper to bumper warranty and i can bet we will be charged something. Who is to say it won't happen again, or when my grandchildren are with me?i wish i had known about this problem withthis jeep i personally wouldn't have bought it. It has already been paid off and darn, look what just happened. I would like to know how many other people have had this same problem and how many times and what was done about it.

Balance shaft module has left metal in our oil.it went bad causing our engine to go dead while we was driving down interstate.

Driving and engine just shut off. June 18,2014driving and engine just shut off. July 10,2014driving and engine just shut off. July 29,2014driving and engine just shut off.august 6,2014driving and engine just shut off.august 16,2014. This is the last straw!!! i was on a four lane and my car just shut off. Everyone was putting on breaks and honking their horns at me. I hit the emergency flasher fast having getting to know where it was from the other times i stalled out of the blue!it is a wonder i wasn't killed. What is wrong with jeep all of their cars should be recalled period. This is going to the dealership monday and they will be picking it up.i don't feel safe driving it anymore!

After refueling within 1-2 miles spits spuders bucks, then stalls! safty is at issue of causing a accident or getting hit!!!! make jeep accountable! happens evertime now 6 mos.

2008 jeep compass engine cradle failed nys inspection due to premature rusting. 2007 model year was extended warranty for 10 years on engine cradle because of premature rusting. My jeep was manufactured in march of 2008. I am sure the engine cradle part was manufactured in 2007 and placed into the 2008 because no replacement or update was made to the part between 2007 and 2008. Jeep refused to cover the 2008 which i had to pay for repair. This part if not repaired and during an accident will cause serious structural damage to the vehicle which could cause serious injury or death to the occupants in the vehicle. I have taken photos and the failed nys inspection notice. I have also made a copy of this report for my records.

I bought a used vehicle from a small private used dealership in las vegas nvbelieving it had 134000 miles when in reality they knew that was not the real mileage it has over 172,000 cant get my money back cz they say i bought it has is they tamper with the odometer and lie to me i was recently aware when i got insurance from geico it was there when i saw the truth about the vehicle true history and odometer the dealership name is emporio auto sales located2685 n nellis blvd, las vegas, nv 89115.

So this among other issues start late last year with our 2008 compass. Was sitting at stop light and the vehicle just stalled out. Jeep started right up and was fine the rest of the day. My wife drives it more then i do and she says it stutters quite frequently and often tries to stall out. Most recently, it stalled out dropping the kids off in the drop off line. This time it took 1-2 minutes to re start. No engine light, no warning, nothing. Took it to a jeep dealership that day for them to take it a look at it. But of course like many consumers on here and other sites, they cannot find the issue. They drove my jeep frequently for 2 days and still they cannot figure the problem. So like many others, we are stuck with a vehicle that has issues that do not show themselves. I have sent this issue to my local tv station to may be help investigate why there is no recall for this issue as its a safety concern. Clearly this is an issue as there are a lot of the same complaints. What will it take for someone to get hurt or die before they send out a recall? so we are forced to look into a new vehicle (not a jeep compass) because we don't feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. It should not be that way. Just figured i would share my experience along with others. Word of advice, believe the ratings for jeep compass and stay clear of purchasing them. -jb-

I just got gas and was about to pull into traffic when out of the blue my engine just stopped running. The radio and lights were still working but when i put my foot on the gas pedal i never moved. I had to restart the engine just to get going again. There was not even any warning lights on the dashboard and still aren't.

Whining noise coming from engine over 65 mph. Had no problems with transmission before. Did regular maintenance on the jeep compass. Driving on the freeway and noticed transmission oil light came on. Couldn't move in the gears. Had to pull over for a 1 hr to let car cool off. Later drove to my mechanic. No code found. Took it to a reputable transmission shop and he told that these 2008 jeep compass have bad transmission design and they go out around 130,000 to 145,000. I need newfluid, transmission cooler, adjustment but i opted to just get the a new transmission since that is a bad design for that particular model. Manufacturer should open a recall on these jeeps. The location where i took mine already had several in for repairs.

Stopped for an oil change, was told that the sub frame was very rusted, mechanic suggested i call chrysler,he said this shouldn"t be that rusted. Said that the 2007 models were being fixed by chrysler under the warranty. When i called chrysler the checked the vin # and said it wasn't on the list. They didn't really have an answer for me. This is an expensive repair that i can't afford. Sus

The car stalls, and jerks after i put in gas. When it stalls, the car turns off.

Vehicle stalls out after filling gas tank with fuel.it stalls while idling in park and it stalls while driving in traffic and when stopped with foot on the brake. After rome online searching, the problem seems to be the vapor/liquid separator valve in the top of the fuel tank not stopping the charcoal filter from being flooded with fuel. This has happened numerous times in the monthsince i purchased the vehicle. It last happened on 09/10/2020

After driving and it sets for about 45 min or 1 hour it is hard to start when it does start the is a smell of fuel coming out of the vents, when it is cold starts fine or if you gone for a shorter time it starts fine but still has the fuel smell out of the vents.

Can't fill the fuel tank fast. There is an antisiphon ball valve in the tank that sticks. Takes forever to fill the tank

The contact owns a 2008 jeep compass. While refueling the vehicle, fuel spewed out of the refueling entrance hole. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank inlet check valve was faulty and the entire fuel tank would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 78,000.

Tried to put fuel in tank and fuel splashed back and kept shutting off. Tried 2 other stations and same result. My daughter has the car at college. She said she could only put fuel in the car by continuing to pump very slow and to keep trying. With any kind of fast pump the fuel would splash back. Very dangerous.

Ever time after you fill the car up with gas, the engine will stall and hesitate when pulling out of thegas station. For a mile or two. After that it will run fine until next fill up.

I got my 08 compass in 2014, i have had several of the other complaints of rusting, bolts, arm bearings etc...i have for past 2 months not been able to fill my gas tank as it only takes about .20 cents at a time. Tried 4 different gas stations. My mechanic has tried all vacumm seals, pumps, hoses, vents, vapor canister, vapor purge solnoid, and checking everything from a to b. Said only thing it could be was gas tank. Went online and googled fueling issues with jeep compas, thousands....and this isnt a problem for chrysler.if jeepknows about this, why isnt there a recall. I can not spend 20 minutes trying to fill my tank with 2 small boys, one who has special needs and the full service stations refuse to service me. Chrysler/jeep needs to help. This is ridiculous.i need answersand i cant afford 1200.00 to fix it. Car is stopped, engine off, no motion. Stopped in gas station.fuel tank is defective and can be hazardous when trying to fill tank. I have papers from mechanic.

Electronic throttle controllite comes on randomly when starting or driving locks the car in limp mode then abs lite comes on and the car shakes till you stop and turn it off. When the car is in limp mode you can only get the rpm's up to 2000. Car went from 60mph to 30 mph in about 100 yards on the highway.we have only owned the jeep four months.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep compass. While driving various speeds, the transmission overheat warning indicator illuminated suddenly. Also, the vehicle decelerated and failed to accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 85,000.

While driving the car started pulling to the left and right. Pulled the wheel to check tie rod ends, cv shaft, control arm and found that the k-frame had rusted so bad that the control arm was loose.

My jeep is unsafe has multiple issues according to jeep and after reviewing online seems this make and model has major problems that chrysler jeep is ignoring the soon as my warranty was expired they told me car should not be on the road and wanted me to pay over $1000 or more to repair told them am in financial distress and could not afford this then they told me something with tire was loose and this would cost additional issues i just find this strange that jeep is only 2008 and their telling me am driving a dangerous car. They have threatened me with this since last year and causing me anxiety. Please investigate for myself and the safety of others. Thank you. Contacted jeep corporate with no reply.

During my annual inspection it was found that both my front and rear cross frame members were so severely rusted that it to dangerous to drive till they are replaced. I call the dealer who the jeep was bought from and was told that only the 2007 models have an extended frame protection warrantee that covers this problem. My jeep was built on 8/14/07 less than three weeks after jeeps cutoff date. After investigating i found that there are several hundred cases like mine that jeep refuses to cover. The frame should not be failing this fast and as bad. I feel there is a material design flaw that jeep is trying to cover. More people need to be aware of the problem.my jeep has no visual rust it looks brand new. Unless the owner or mechanic crawls underneath this can go un noticed until there is a major failure.

Front sub frame that holds control arms rotted right outcould lose front tire

I took my vehicle in for state inspection and a "creaking" type noise. It was found to have the k frame rusted through therefore failing state inspection. I was advised that this is the same body type (platform) used in the 2007 dodge caliber and the same part number. The 2007 dodge caliber was recalled due to this part failure which could cause the engine and other components to fall out of the car. It is obvious that chrysler knows about the issue as they recalled the 2007 caliber but unless forced is not taking care of this problem in other vehicles made using the same platform and parts. When the car was under warranty only 2 years less than 25000 miles i had to have a tie rod replaced. I was also advised by the service manager that "these vehicles are known for this issue".

Upon state inspection it was noted that k frame was rusted through resulting in replacement of same and lf control arm assy front sway bar links-repair costs $1617.88. K frame was a major issue in 2007 compass resulting in gov't action-my 2008 was built in 12/07. Chrysler wont stand behind problem. 2007 gov't action started with a complaint. I hope i can start this one. Vehicle was purchased new in 2008 by one adult driver age 50 (my wife). Suspension has always been a problem starting with new tie rod ends @ 14,000 miles under warranty.

Had to have ball joints and tie rods replaced in dec 2013. Wheel bearing replaced jan 2014 and now am told need new transmission.

Recently purchased a 2008 jeep compass from a private owner in ohio.we went for inspection as required in pennsylvania where we live.the jeep failed because the cross member frame was almost completely rusted out.the service manager at the dealership said this is a defect in how the jeep was manufactured.the placement of the air conditioner with the constant dripping and condensation plus the use of road salt in ohio caused the frame to corrode.chrysler is aware of the problem and has recalled 2007 and older jeeps but is not honoring the extended warranty on the 2008 and newer models even though they know there is a huge problem in the design.the repairs are going to cost over 1500.00 dollars with no guarantee it wont happen again just by using the air conditioner. How many people have to complain or something bad happens before chrysler will do something about the problem?every jeep no matter what year should be covered under the recall.

The contact called ryan auto mall (chrysler dodge jeep ram) at (763) 682-2424 (1000 highway 55 east, buffalo, mn 55313) where an appointment was scheduled for an inspection. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000.

Sub frame rusted out making the car not safe to drive and it would cost $1700 for repair.no notice was sent out to owners; only mechanics.no public announcement of problem.car was driven by my 82 year old mother in law.i am her son in law and i was driving her car to take her to an appointment; and suddenly it was difficult to handle, going to the right.i took it to my mechanic, and was told the car was not safeto drive.sub frame rust.my mechanic knew about the problem from jeep, but researching it online confirmed what he told me.jeep knew of the problem and extended the warranty but did not recall the car; just sent notifications to mechanics, not the owners.my mother in law had the car inspected in july 2018 by her mechanic.vin number indicated extended warranty on frame expired sept 2018.problem happened in dec. 2018.i confirmed all the above with local jeep dealership.we approached my mother in laws mechanic and he admitted knowing of the problem, but apparently missed it in inspection or chose not to tell her.the car was well cared for.oil changes etc...79,000 miles near perfect body and now i'm told it's junk--and only worth $200!i called jeep corp office 877-426-5337 to make a plea to get the car repaired so my mother in law could resell.living in a government assisted senior apartment, she thought her car was an asset or investment she could someday rely on for a little extra; but not its been reduced to a couple hundred dollars.not to mention--she could have been driving and the car could have fallen apart and she could have hurt herself and others.the car should have been recalled

I recently had to replace the crossmember on my 2008 jeep compass in the front due to corrosion causing steering issues when turning (loud clunk sound). The cost is expensive and i may have to replace the rear crossmember as well. I was also unaware of this recall and never contacted by the dealership to come in for replacement.

I had my jeep in for it's yearly inspection. During the inspection, the mechanic discovered my control arms needed to be replaced.i had just had them replaced during the previous year's inspection.he also found that the front driver's side subframe is rusting through.i contacted the dealer (i've had the car for just over two years) and was only told thereis not open recall.

I recently purchased a 2008 jeep compass took it in for oil change and tire rotation they informed me that my engine cradle, there words not mine, was completely rotted and needed replaced! i do alot of traveling taking monthly trips to alabama and also deliver caters for my job. I often have my grandkids with me as well. I went on line and seen hundreds of complaints the same as mine! this issue is a death trap and jeep manufactures should be held accountable for this defect! these jeeps are not even 10yrs old this should not be happening i am posting my photos of mine to showhow bad this situation is

Front sub frame that holds control arms rotted right outcould lose front tire

Takata recall. I have a 2008 jeep compass, purchasedvehicle at the end of august 2017. I was just form about a month ago that my sub frame was rotted out and had a warranty on it from my localmechanic.i have then contact several jeep dealerships about this recall, have continued to tell me that this recall has expired and that i will not be able to get my jeep fixed.i was never informed by phone call email or anything by mail about this recall or i would have taken the opportunity to get this problem solved .

Sus

Dealer service department stated that both lower ball joints are bad, vehicle is unsafe to drive as is.

Rear subframe rusted to the point of needing replaced. Car has only 97000 miles on it. There is no reason that the car should be this rusted, there needs to be a recall on the rear subframes, and add additional support to ensure the safety of the vehicle.

I took my jeep compass in for a routine oil change when the mechanic discovered that the subframe (cross member and control arm) which secured the engine and transmission was completely rusted through. The mechanic asked me to take a look. The hole was so large i could put my hand in it and the crack ran along the entire crossmember. He cautioned me to not drive it until it was replaced, saying that the engine and transmission could fall out at any time and could lead to a very serious if not fatal accident. Also noted was play in the right outer tie rod and right lower ball joint. My vehicle had just turned the 100k mile mark. I am the original owner and have routine maintenance performed. If i had not take to a local mechanic, this may have not been discovered resulting in serious consequences. Calls to chrysler customer service eventually resulted in a reduction in the cost of parts (2007 compass was recalled for same issue). My bill is still over $1,000 and would like chrysler to cover the cost of labor and parts. The replacement parts used were from the 2007 recall. This is unsafe and should not be happening to a vehicle 7.5 years old. I was told it was because salt is used on the roads. If that's the case, they should issue a disclaimer or safety warning when selling jeeps in areas that have snow and salt. I am very concerned that i had been driving for months, if not longer, in a very unsafe vehicle.the jeep compass 2007 was recalled and chrysler pacifica for the exact same problems. Apparently, not enough complaints have warranted a 2008 recall.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep compass. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in for routine maintenance, the independent mechanic discovered that the sub frame of the vehicle had rusted and corroded. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Updated 08/30/16*ljthe consumer stated the engine support corroded near the middle subframe and side rail by the control arm. Updated 10/19/16.

My subframe has completely rotted out. My local dealer informed me it is out of warranty.i see thousands of people have the same issue which is why you extended the warranty but nobody informed us about it! the design of this model is flawed; the parts are inferior for a snowbelt state and to top it off the exhaust from the air conditioner leaks directly on the front subframe. 3 separate mechanics have told me this should not have happened; i should not have to pay for parts you know are no good.please tell me you are going to stand behind your products!we own a company and have several jeep vehicles but if this is not fixed we will be trading them all in and will move to another vendor who will stand behind their products and wants to keep their customers safe! even the local dealer said this was ridiculous and that you should be doing a recall on this!

The contact owns a 2008 jeep compass. While pulling out of a parking lot, the contact heard a loud noise near the front driver side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician noticed that underneath the vehicle, the subframe, control arm, and crossmember bar were corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the fuel filter was corroded and not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.

I have had my 2008 jeep compass for approximately 14 months, and just recently i thought i had a tie rod that needed to be replaced. There was a very loud knocking sound coming from the front drivers side and the car pulled hard to the left. I took it to be inspected and as soon as the mechanic got it up on the lift he immediately set it back down. The front subframe is so badly rusted through he was afraid that the transmission or engine would fall through. I am currently out of a car as the mechanic deemed it extremely unsafe to drive and would not let me drive the car back home. There is currently a recall for the subframe on the 2007 model year, my car was manufactured in 12/2007 so i have reason to believe that my car was made with parts affected in the recall of the 2007 model year.

Noises and uneven tire wear in may of 2013, needs ball joints. (60000 mi). Same thing in aug. 2015 (85000 mi). And now k frame is rusting out.

Took into have front end alignment and was told ball joints and tie rods were bad.was without vehicle for over 10 days and the cost was $750.00.got vehicle back and within a week heard a rubbing sound which turns out to be bad wheel bearings.waiting for service shop to contact me as to the extent of the damage with that.the vehicle has under 70,000 which is less than the estimated 12,000 per year.the vehicle is not used for any off road driving.i have put more into this vehicle since i purchased it than i did my old 95 bonneville, which i drove until i purchased the jeep. The jeep was purchased used from a dealer in 2011.

Had to have ball joints and tie rods replaced in dec 2013. Wheel bearing replaced jan 2014 and now am told need new transmission.

The k frame is rusted to the point that the vehicle's steering wheel shakes when going around a curve. Our mechanic was able to stabilize this, but states the frame is so rusted that he can push a screwdriver through with very little effort. It needs replaced. We contacted our dealer, and were told that only the 2007 models are covered by a safety recall.

Chrysler issued a recall for my vehicle in june: safety recall l27 / nhtsa 12v-085 rear suspension lower control arms.it is now september and i've tried to have it fixed by 3 different jeep dealerships.none of them have the part, they all ordered the part, they all have not received the part.chrysler's number for the recall is u42.dealerships in south florida contacted:joey accardi, arrigo, and, worst of them all, schumacher.i am driving an extremely unsafe vehicle because the part is not available??ridiculous.but no one seems to care much about it.how can a manufacturer issue a recall and not have the responsibility to have the parts available to fix the issue?i have cut back my driving, in fear, but i have to use the car sometimes.it's been over 2 months now and no hope is in sight.i call every week to check if the part has arrived.arrigo is the one i am concentrating on, as they at least knew about the recall and were willing to order the part.what good is being advised of a recall when you can't do anything about it??

While driving the car started pulling to the left and right. Pulled the wheel to check tie rod ends, cv shaft, control arm and found that the k-frame had rusted so bad that the control arm was loose.

While in motion, a clunking noise was heard in rear end.independent garage (zeller auto center,616 main st., torrinton, ct. 06790, 860-489-0204) diagnosed a rusted and rotted rear subframe.internet check revealed other owners of this model experienced the same probem.jeep issued an extended warrantee for 10 years from production date.no notice to vehicle owners!contacted jeep (case #57633304) and they advised that extended warrantee for this car expired on 12/28/17 and they would not make an extension.they stated that a recall was not needed when an extended warrantee was issued.i think a recall is needed so that other owners of this vehicle can be warned of the rusting subframe problem before an accident and injuries occur.

Ihad replace this part for the second time now in less than 2 years.auto tech said this should not wear like this for the mileage of this vehicle which is 67400.currently the jeep liberty has a recall for this defect but the compass does not.this is of great concern to me as this part plays a vital role for maintaining control of vehicle.both right and left control arms done on october 25 2012. Recent replacement on march 27, 2014 drivers side control arm done.

While driving the car started pulling to the left and right. Pulled the wheel to check tie rod ends, cv shaft, control arm and found that the k-frame had rusted so bad that the control arm was loose.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep compass. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle hit a pothole and began to decrease in speed. The contact observed a metal piece hanging under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that thesubframe, rear cross member, and lower control arm were corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,051.

I took my vehicle to the mechanic for work and was told that my sub frame needed to be replace. I have only owned the vehicle for 4 years and only have 110,000 miles on it .have not had a failure at this time but seeing that i'm near the mileage that others seam to have had the failure it worries me.

I just got gas and was about to pull into traffic when out of the blue my engine just stopped running. The radio and lights were still working but when i put my foot on the gas pedal i never moved. I had to restart the engine just to get going again. There was not even any warning lights on the dashboard and still aren't.

I own a 2008 jeep compass and on 07/25/2015 the vehicle failed nys inspection because the engine craddle was rusted out. I learned that only2007 were covered for repair so i was forced to purchase a new one. I bought one on ebay and replaced it myself. The vehicle passed inspection and passed in 2016 and 2017. On 02/15/17 i received a letter from fca us llc customer center saying that 2008-2012 model are now covered and they will make a reimbursement. I contacted ebay and paypal and they only hold records for 18months and my back and credits cards only for 48 months. I could not find the proof of payment at home. I was able to find the cost of an oem for $507.00 i sentl all of the paperwork and inspection to fca and they refused to reimburse me. I am only asking for chrysler to pay for the part and not my labor. I know that the labor is about $1,500.00 to replace the engine craddle. If the craddle was not paid and replace the vehicle would never passed inspection for the last two years.

Front sub frame that holds control arms rotted right outcould lose front tire

Brought my car in for a front end noise. Mechanic determined my front and rear crossmemberespecially the front were rotted out with holes. I received a letter from car companydated 2/15/2017 that car warranty was extended for ten years. The problem was not identified until 2019i was told the warranty expired 12/2018.car co. Said they would not cover. I see many complaints regarding this issue. I would think it should have been a recall, quite a safety issue we are left to suck it up. I would like to bring this to light.i feel the company is gettingaway with a dangerous expensive oops.

I can be at full speed my car would reduce speed or completely shut down in the middle of driving

I took my 2008 jeep compass in for service and the technicians found through rust in the engine cradle, control arms, and tie rods.i had to have these components replaced at a cost of $2900.this car is lightly used, stored in a garage and only has 115532 miles.this is clearly a manufacturer / design defect to have major structural components through on a car that is only 7 years old.i have photographs of the effected parts that i would be happy to submit as evidence.

-jb-

The subframe is rotting out to the point it's dangerous to drive

I bought a used vehicle from a small private used dealership in las vegas nvbelieving it had 134000 miles when in reality they knew that was not the real mileage it has over 172,000 cant get my money back cz they say i bought it has is they tamper with the odometer and lie to me i was recently aware when i got insurance from geico it was there when i saw the truth about the vehicle true history and odometer the dealership name is emporio auto sales located2685 n nellis blvd, las vegas, nv 89115.

Corrosion involving the back braces, wheelhubs, axles, brackets at 113094 miles.found when a sensor went bad on the back right wheel, lights came on while traveling.also some found on bearing.only a very small amount at the front.currently staying in myrtle beach, sc.

I can be at full speed my car would reduce speed or completely shut down in the middle of driving

New nexxen n5000 tires placed on vehicle and front end aligned. With in 2 months tires showed uneven tire wear with wires showing in areas. Submitted these defective tires under warranty for replacements. 3 months later at around 15,000 miles rear tire developed knot/bubble in the tire causing the car to bounce when driving. Replaced all 4 tires with different brand. I will never buy nexxen tires again.
