Kept smelling hot wires and burning plastic smell. Service tech was already in campground so we called them over to investigate and they discovered the iota model its-50r automatic transfer switch had burnt wires. Our unit is prepped for a generator but we do not have one installed so we question how/why this transfer switch should go bad since it's not used. Repeated emails to jayco are not offering much information. We saw where other transfer switches had been recalled and wondered if our switch was one of those but we could not findrecall notice. Are there issues with this model also? they keep asking if a power surge created the issue. The camper is hooked up to a 50a surge protector at our seasonal campsiteso this shouldn't be an issue. And, it's not a single wire that is burnt but several which is a major malfunction. I'm uploading a pdf of the email conversation with jayco,
