2011 jayco north point fifthwheel. Consumer writes in regards to damaged underbelly cover. *ldthe consumer stated while driving he noticed black colored material coming from under the vehicle. The consumer pulled over and noticed 2/3 of the underbelly had come loose and wrapped around 2 axles. The consumer cut away the material. While doing so, ruined his glasses. The awning cylinder fell apart while being retracted. The faucet in the kitchen leaked and the fan failed. The freezer had malfunctions. The leveling system failed on multiple occasions. A toilet valve failed causing water to leak onto the floor. The vehicle had 3 tire blow outs and multiple other tire failures. Both deep cycle batteries needed to be replaced. Two wheels dislodged from the vehicle while being driven. The consumer called state police who arranged for a tow truck. The manufacturer was made aware.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Blue dog rv service (2100 avenue g, white city, or 97503, (541) 326-0410) was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact called roadside assistance however, the mechanic was unable to place the spare tire on the trailer due a defective gusset on the trailer's suspension. The contact then took the trailer to camping world of davenport (14040 110th ave, davenport, ia 52804) were he was informed that the rv was included in nhtsa campaign number: 20v385000 (suspension). The trailer remained in the dealer possession for six weeks and was returned once the recall and the body damage were repaired. Despite the recall repair, the failure persisted. The dealer called the contact and confirmed that the gusset bracket was located on the wrong section of the trailer and that the part for the remedy would not be available until january. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The rv was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.*dt*dtconsumer dropped the vehicle to the dealer but dealer did not have the correct part.the consumer provided pictures. *dtconsumer stated wrong part was sent second time this has happened.

The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the driver's side front tire, driver's side rear tire and the rear passenger's side tire simultaneously experienced blowouts. Due to the failure, the contact initially lost control of the vehicle but was able to safely pull the rv over to the side of the roadway. Roadside assistance was called out and replaced the driver's side front and rear tires. The contact replaced the passenger's side rear tire on his own. The contact subsequently received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 20v385000 (suspension) which he linked to his tire failure. The contact stated that he experienced tire failures on all four tires prior to receiving the recall notification. The contact notified the manufacturer once he received the recall notification and was provided a list of dealers to call for assistance. The contact called camping world of charleston (8155 rivers ave, north charleston, sc 29406), the trail center (5728 dorchester rd, north charleston, sc 29418), miles rv center (6056 asheville hwy, hendersonville, nc 28791) and was informed that the dealer was not in possession of the equipment needed to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was given a callback and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 3,827.

The contact stated that the vehicle experienced unusual tire tread wear on the camper. The dealer confirmed that the suspension failure stated in the recall was the cause of the issue. The contact owns a 2015 gmc 2500 used for hauling a 2017 jayco northpoint rv. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the passenger's side rear and front wheel assembly fractured without warning. The contact managed to regain control of the vehicle. The vehicle was not damaged. The trailer sustained a lot of damages to the front, and rear passenger's side wheel assemblies. A towing company was contacted and the trailer was towed to a tow lot but was not yet diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the technician replaced 4 leaf springs and installed 4 new tires. Apache village rv center (9001 dunn rd, hazelwood, mo 63042) was contacted and informed the contact that that there were no recalls on the trailer. The contact also referenced nhtsa campaign number: 20v385000 (suspension) as a possible solution to the failure however the trailer was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, no further assistance was provided.the failure mileage on the vehicle was approximately 57,000. The failure mileage on the trailer was 17,000.
Our 2017 jayco northpoint 377rlbh is currently at the dealership for a recall issued by jayco on the suspension. The dealer, crain rv, found that 2 of the wheels are cracked and it is unsafe to tow until this issue is resolved. Jayco has verified that threaded wheel and tire company made the wheels. The serial number for wheels per jayco is r2kk1816 for 3 wheels and r2kk1716 for 1 wheel.*dt
The contact owns a 2017 jayco northpoint fifth wheel trailer. The contact stated that while trailered and driving approximately 60 mph, the two passenger's side wheels separated from the trailer. After stopping to inspect the trailer, it was discovered that the wheel lugs sheared off allowing the wheels to separate from the trailer. The vehicle was towed to the local service center bettchers us truck & trailer service center located at 310 wilson dr, lakeville, in 46536 who replaced the wheel hubs. The trailer was then taken to the manufacturer's location for evaluation. The failure mileage was 17,000.*dt*dtconsumer stated there are 2 odi numbers 11354924 & 11354926 regarding the same incident. Odi 11354926 has no open recalls on the unit although manufacturer had an open recall. Complaint was filed after it was repaired. Although, recall was replaced consumer feels alignment of the unit is putting more stress on axles.
