The documentation provided to the consumer stated the hitch weight for the trailer was 780 pounds. Based on that information, the salesperson at the dealer advised the consumer the trailer was within weight that could safely tow the vehicle. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 13v585000 ( latches/locks/linkages ) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
