Vehicle breaking system caught fire during towing causing flames and smoke to erupt from both undercarage tire sides melting the break wires, while the breakaway system was attached it was melted and the battery continued to feed the flames via wiring system. This is currently under investigation however i am being told the axel, drums, bearings, breaks, and spindles were all bad and require replacement. This is a brand new travel trailer and this was 15 minutes into our very first trip with the trailer after dealer delivery.
I have a safety concern with the propane line so close to the rear wheel. If my tire has a blow out this will destroy the line. And this could be a very bad scenario. Impact from the tire can crack the lp manifold, and break free the lp lines and fittings. Damage caused by the tire may not be readily noticeable and could cause ignition of lp gas that could result in personal injury and/or property damage when lp system is tested, filled and/or used.
