We received a recall notice from fastec industrial on the locks for our camping trailer.we applied for replacement parts as instructed in the notice.90 days later we haven't received the replacement or any further communication after repeated attempts.
This 23m model includes a murphy bed which folds up into the wall.as my wife, [xxx] was tucking in the bottom sheet in at the head end of the bed it folded up into the wall trapping her inside.if i had not been there to extract her, she might have died, trapped.i have spoken with [xxx] at jayco (1-800-945-4787).he said there is a tech bulletin out on this problem and to take it to the nearest jayco or starcraft dealer to have it repaired.the closest jayco dealer refuses to perform the work because the trailer was not purchased there.now jayco wants me to drive hundreds of miles to another dealer that i find who will do the work.i hope the us government will issue a recall so that jayco will be forced to provide better service to the victims of this model.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
