While proceeding to park in the driveway, the vehicle experienced a sudden acceleration and forcibly struck another vehicle that was parked in the garage. During this incident the driver had no control of braking or steering. The impact was severe enough to cause the airbag to deploy and sustain major damage to both vehicles.

The airbag light came on with only 54,000 miles on this jaguar, that is not normal as i have owned jaguar cars for 3 decades.also the air suspension failure occurred at 55,000 miles which is the current mileage and the car was parked for two weeks without any movements.this vehicle drives less than 3000 miles a year now and i'm super disappointed in this factor where as my wife's mercedes s500 with 139,000 miles on it has no issues on it at all.

Well i was driving along and all of a sudden just lost fuel power, so i pull over, cut the car off, and started the car up again and drove about a 100 yards and it repeated the same thing over again. I must have did it at least 6 times till i got home. So i'm thinking that it might be the throttle box, it's a fuel and electrical problem.

The power window ondriver's side stopped operating while in the up position. Vehicle stalled on two occasions while driving at 35 mph and 65 mph. Vehicle restarted on both occasions, and the vehicle would vibrate severely while driving 50 mph. Consumer stated vehicle had been to the dealer 8-10 separate times, but problem recurred.the electrical sstem has problems.radio changes funtions from am to fm to cd by itself without consumer input.windows go down without the consumers input and will not close.interior lights do not work when driving.steering wheel gets heavy when driving at slow speeds.tires become loud and rought at 19000 miles.*tc

Vehicle cut out on ca freeway 57 at 70 mph due to throttle position sensor fault, (fault code p0121) luckily i managed to get to the hard shoulder without incident. This condition is extremely dangerous especially if this had happened while i was turning in front of oncoming traffic. I was a toyota/mercedes tech for 30 years.

This jaguar 2004xj8 has been subject to 6 unintended acceleratons over a period of half a year including two in the dealer's shop. When in traffic or close quarters it has been necessary to place the shifter in neutral or reverse to control the acceleration.the dealer has had the car in his shop on three occasions.on the first occasion nothing was found.on the second occasion it was said that the fuel pump or its wiring harness were faulty and were replaced.on the present occasion it was thought that possibly this was a transmission problem.there have been mutiple episode and so only the last one is mentioned below.

While stopped at a red light, foot on brake, shift in drive, vehicle went into very high rate of acceleration and lunged uncontrollably forward. Luckily there was no vehicle in front of me as i would have crashed into it. I notified the dealer and he referred me to a local dealer. The vehicle was inspected and i was assured that they found nothing wrong. This was a very scary situation and the manufacturer should seriously look into the matter.

I was making a left turn at 15 mph when the car suddenly accelerated for a few moments and then settled down. I then took 2 right turns at 10 mph and was attempting to apply the brake in a parking spot when the car suddenly accelerated running over a bush, 10 ft tree, and in to a ditch on east side of highway 41 in bonita springs before i could get the car to stop. I then drove in gingerly in to a parking spot and left it until it was towed to naples jaguar the next morning. Myself and my three passengers were terrified and tortured by the trauma.

The car cought on fire

While proceeding to park in the driveway, the vehicle experienced a sudden acceleration and forcibly struck another vehicle that was parked in the garage. During this incident the driver had no control of braking or steering. The impact was severe enough to cause the airbag to deploy and sustain major damage to both vehicles.

Entering parking garage, warning light appears "vehicle too low"vehicle underbody scrapes on garage entrance. Had vehicle towed to my independent jaguar dealer. He said left front strut was leaking air causing the entire suspension system to malfunction. He also informed me this normal and if i replace the one the other struts will do the same thing just a matter of time.recommended a kit that would eliminate the air struts completely. I am forced to remove the air struts (at a cost of $3500.00) as there is no warning when this may happen again. I looked for a recall notice but found none. Did find alot of complaints. I don't understand why this would not be a recall item. This seems to be a real safety issue if this condition would happen at a high speed. When a companygoes to the trouble to make a kit to eliminate this so call "jaguar air suspension system" . Jaguar should be embarrassed.

Just riding around the city (macon, ga) and the vehicle low light came on. Went out after a while so didn't worry about it. The next morning noticed the front end was low. Started the car and the vehicle low light was on and after that the air suspension fault light came on. These two lights kept flashing one after the other. Took vehicle to an import repair facility..no jaguar dealers near. Was quoted air shock replacement/ install for about 2500 dollars. So i ordered the exact same part online and had them installed for half that amount. Exactly one month later a few days ago..the same lights are on again and the front end is once again too low to drive. Not sure what to do now, no jaguar dealer near and can't believe a luxury car apparently has an inherent problem that jaguar hasn't recalled. Very frustrating not being able to drive this beauty..!!!!

Suspension fault light comes on and car drops down, can be dangerous when driving and cause a accident, this is a common problem with this car and should be addressed by jaguar

Vehicle light comes on indicating "low suspension". The sits nearly ground level, rides horribly. Took vehicle in for repair.spent over $4,500.00 (6 days without my car) for parts and labor for repairs and the light is on again.i am at loss and frustrated to no end!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2004 jaguar xj8. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a warning light illuminated stating that the air suspension was at halts and the suspension lowered independently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. After diagnosis, the contact was informed that the air compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and was looking into the matter. The failure and current mileages were approximately 49,900.

Took vehicle out to fuel up and drove highway to other locations.noticed it was slightly lower on the right prior to taking it out. Vehicle started to shake on right side like tire was getting low.i had tire checked for any leaks and everything was good. On my way back home things got worse and had to slow down to nearly a crawl.light indicator stated that car was too low (nearly dragging the ground) and the suspension fault indicator came on shortly thereafter.fortunately, i was able to make it back to my garage without any disastrous results to myself or the vehicle. I think it is incredible that a $90,000 car of this caliber , with only 50,000 miles on it has no credible value to it at all!this is the second time this has happened to this vehicle.the repair cost is well into the 3 to 4 thousand dollar range.i would never buy another one!!!!!

The contact owns a 2004 jaguar xj8.the contact was driving 15 mph when the front driver side strut fractured causing the suspension to collapse.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer to have the strut, damper spring and air suspension spring compressor replaced.within five weeks, the entire suspension failed, causing all four shocks and struts to malfunction. The contact stated that the vehicle was too low to the ground to drive. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was awaiting repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 73,200.

I have this beautiful that i can't drive because of suspension problems.vehicle too low and suspension fault warnings came on.you'd think by now that jaguar would have recalled these vehicles and fixed the problem.i cannot belive a car that costs this much has such problems.my gm truck with over 300,000 miles - i purchased it brand new - doesn't have nearly the amount of issues this jag does.

I replaced the suspension system 2 years ago when i lived in georgia because i kept getting a message that said the vehicle was too low. I've since moved to the northeast and everytime the temperature gets below 40 degrees the suspension leaks air and the vehicle is lowered. At this point the vehicle is unsafe to drive. Once the day warms up the suspension begin to work and the car rises to a level that's safe to drive.

The vehicle too low sign appears, as well as, air suspension fault sign. The car is low and difficult to handle and the ride is very rough.

The contact owns a 2004 jaguar xj8. The contact was traveling 40 mph when the rear end of the vehicle started to bounce. The contact mentioned that the air suspension and vehicle too low warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the passenger side rear air bags failed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages was 100,400.

Air suspension fault- during extreme cold temperatures..(32 degrees f or below). The car will leak air from the suspension and can't be driven. Fault messages appear. During the cold period this year, hundreds of jaguars had the same issue. Atlanta had 18 recorded suspension issue at one dealer..but they claimed they were all for different things. Matheny jaguar in jacksonville said they also received several complaints but didn't wish to comment further. There is a part that may be contracting during extreme cold causing the air to leak from the suspension. Never happens during normal temps. Car also lowered during operation and could cause an accident.

On 01/04/10, car showed "vehicle too low" warning.i called the dealership and was told to let the car warm up which i did and warning disappeared. Warning appeared each day & i let car warm up each day to correct. On 01/08/10, additional warning "air suspension faulty" appeared and vehicle's front end was very low too the ground. I called dealership and was told to immediately stop driving and have car towed in b/c the struts had failed and could cause the tires to blow. Had car towed to dealership and was told that the extremes in temp in atlanta had resulted in a number of cars being brought in for same problem -- air bag compressors collapsed b/c of car sitting outside during the day. When i asked if this was a manufacturing defect (since numerous 04 jag xj8s), i was told "don't know".when i tried to get additional information such as temperature spec ratings for the struts, the dealership clammed up.when i picked the car up, i commented on the 14 cars in the pick up area which was unusual, i was told the damage to all the cars struts was "normal wear & tear".no one would even entertain my questions re: a manufacturing defect or the manufacturer bilstein. Had the collapse happen while driving on i-285, it could have been disastrous. This issue needs to be investigated to prevent future collapses of struts by replacing those struts which do not satisfy temperature spec ratings.

Air suspension system.

The contact owns a 2004 jaguar xj8.while driving 65 mph, the front end of the vehicle lowered and began bouncing up and down.the vehicle experienced a loss of suspension, which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.a few warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel, two of which stated "vehicle too low" and "error suspension fault".the vehicle was towed to a jaguar dealer and they stated that the failure was due to the suspension relay.the vehicle was repaired and drove normally for approximately 500 miles.the failure recurred and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer.they replaced the front driver's side strut, which was leaking air.this is what caused the front of the vehicle to drop down.there had been no further occurrences; however, the contact is concerned that the passenger side will experience the same suspension failure.the failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 52,000.updated 10-29-08the air suspension system leaked air and the caussed the entire front end to rust. I was braking into a parking spot at the bank when without notice my vehicle accelerated wildly.i pressed on the brake with all of my weight to stop from literally ramming my vehicle into the side of the bank.the roar of the transmission was like someone was stepping full force on the gas pedal, but my foot was solidly on the brake and not even touching the gas pedal.it was terrifying.if there happened to be someone walking on the sidewalk in front of me, i would have hit them.i wouldn't have been able to avoid it.as it was, the only way i could stop the car from driving forward was to shift the car into park and then turn it off.after waiting a while, i restarted the car and cautiously drove home without further incident.this problem with sudden acceleration is so serious.it's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed....please look into it!

While driving on 95 south in ri at approx. 60mph, my 2004 jaguar xj8 suddenly lost all power, including engine, steering and braking abilities. It nearly resulted in a multi car fatal accident from being hit from behind.the dealer stated, after a systems check, that an accelerator pedal sensor had failed resulting in a $500.00 replacement cost.this is a very dangerous defect that should have been part of a safety recall.

2004 jaguar xj8 . Consumer states unintended acceleration *tgwthe consumer stated while approaching a four-way stop, he began to slow down. He was driving slowly, when he removed his right foot from the accelerator and began to press down on the brake pedal. Instead of the vehicle gradually slowing down, the engine raced to an extremely high rpm. He pressed further on the brake, but the vehicle lunged forward about 30 feet before stopping just short of a truck crossing in the intersection. The same situation happened again in a parking lot which caused the consumer t run up on a concrete stop almost striking a pedestrian. When the consumer arrived home later in the evening, there was a recall notice in the mail and he immediately took the vehicle to the dealer.the dealer checked for the recall and the problem, but they were unable to find anything wrong.the same incident happened again where the consumer almost hit a vehicle approaching from his left. A notification light illuminated which read dsc not available. In each instance, the consumer was traveling no more than 5 to 10 mph.8jb

Dt*: the contact stated the accelerator and brake pedals were too close together causing accidental and simultaneous depression of both pedals.the dealer was notified.updated 10/17/2006 - the driver side seat belt buckle failed to engage.a new buckle was ordered. The consumer could not remove the lug nuts from the wheel.

The first incident was at a parking lot booth. I had my foot on the break and the engine raised for about ten seconds like if someone was pressing the gas. It sounded like the engine was going to blow up. I had to press the break pedal hard to keep it from moving and hitting the gate. The second incident was approximately 2 weeks later at an intersection. I was stopped at a light with my foot on the break when the engine started raising again like if someone was pressing on the gas. I looked down to see if the rug was on the way. There was nothing pressing on the gas pedal. This time it did not stop by itself; i had to shift gears because it was hard to hold the break. I put it on park and turned off the car. I was able to start the car back on but it would not shift gears. It was towed to the dealership.rusnak-pasadena kept it for 2 weeks. They replaced the transmission and determined that there was nothing wrong with the car. They suggested i had my foot on both pedals and wanted to give me instructions on how to use one pedal at a time.i drove the car three more times (local driving only). The last time was yesterday afternoon. I was getting out of a parking lot, behind two cars, all of a sudden the engine started to raise again. I placed it in park and the engine stopped raising. I drove the car home and started looking at any other such reports for this car. I found two incidents in your files. One was reported on 01/26/05 (reference #1018965), the other was reported on 09/20/06 (reference #10168741).

I was braking into a parking spot at the local bank when without notice my vehicle accelerated wildly.i pressed on the brake with all of my weight as if my life depended on it. The roar of the transmission was like someone was stepping full force on the gas pedal, but my foot was solidly on the brake and not even touching the gas pedal.it was terrifying.i could hardly keep from driving into the side of the bank. If there happened to be someone walking on the sidewalk in front of me, i would have hit them.i wouldn't have been able to avoid it.as it was, the only way i could stop the car from driving forward was to shift the car into park and then turn it off.after waiting a while, i restarted the car cautiously, and drove it home without incident.

Jaguar 2004 failure of accelerator sensor while driving on i-40/i75 in knoxville, tnresulting in a instantshutdown of engine that could have resulted in a fatal or near fatal accident by being"run over" by traffic from the rear.resulted in a 900 dollar repair as sensor was a partof throttle body that according to dealer had to be replaced.i am questioning that jaguarcan have a car on the road that does not have a backup for this type of failure.

The power window ondriver's side stopped operating while in the up position. Vehicle stalled on two occasions while driving at 35 mph and 65 mph. Vehicle restarted on both occasions, and the vehicle would vibrate severely while driving 50 mph.
