While being stopped at a stop sign with foot on brake the car suddenly accelerates.this is the 5th time this has happened, one time resulting in an accident. I have called jaguar and they blame the driver. I replaced the throttle which containedthe same tps sensor that has plagued toyotas. I am going to replace the pedal sensor and if that doesn't work i guess i will sell the car. Each time this happens the car is stoppedwith the right foot on the brake. The accident was at a school waiting in a line of stopped vehicles waiting to pickup students.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 50mph the vehicle began to overheat and the power steering failed.the vehicle was towed to amechanicwho stated the belt tensioner and crankshaft were defective.the vehicle was taken to a jaguar dealer.they stated that the crankshaft pulley was defective and had come loose.they told him that the engine needed to be replaced at a cost of $14,000.00.the extended warranty company would not cover the repairs.the failure mileage and current mileage was approximately 80,000.
2006 jaguar vdp l wb would not exceed over 10 mph and warning lights illuminated on the dash. Experienced two massive fuel leaks. The dealer claimed they replaced a seal to fix the fuel leak, however 2 weeks later thefuel leak resurfaced.the dealer then stated the left fuel pump flange was still leaking and the fuel tank was warped.the problem with the vehicle not accelerating over 10 mph was due to a loose mass air flow sensor connector.the tire monitor was faulty.
Fax from (pa) 2006 jaguar xj8 has a defective fuel tank, jaguar has no plan to do anything until repair problem is devised.
Car was parked in garage & gasoline spilled under the car damaging garage floor & smelling up the whole house & garage. Car was taken to dealer after we cleaned up the gas & got car out of garage. Dealer advised us that they checked with factory & there was a problem with gas tank and that they would have to order tank from a new manufacturer as the one on the auto had a problem.still waiting 2 weeks later for car and dealer still cannot assure us that the new gas tank is from a different manufacturer.jaguar knows that there are a lot of these tanks out there & they have not recalled them, they are waiting for something to happen so that the customer makes a complaint.this smacks of the way that ford company (which now owns jaguar) handled the pinto gas tank problem in the 60's. Someone is going to get hurt or killed.we feel that we could have lost our house due to the extreme gas spill in our garage or worse we could have been killed if it had exploded when we opened the garage door.this is a known problem and our dealer says they sold 60 of these cars this year and we are just 1 of the 2 problems they have had reported to them. I asked them if they were going to notify the owners of these 60 vehicles and they said they did not have a technical service bulletin on this

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehilce was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 06v358000 component(s): fuel system, gasoline. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they would not repair the failure a second time at their expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 131,000.
The contact leased a 2006 jaguar xj8.when attempting to stop the vehicle at 5 mph, the engine suddenly accelerates.the contact was able to avoid four near crashes.the vehicle was taken to the mechanic and the brakes were replaced.the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the diagnostic was unable to produce a failure code.the manufacturer is analyzing the computer data.the failure mileage was 15,000 and current mileage was 20,000. Upon entering garage of home, while pressing on brakes preparing to park, engine accelerated forcing car to crash into a ladder in front of concrete wall; although husband pushed full force on brakes, the car seemed to race forward.no one was hurt, front right bumper plastic panel popped off. Earlier on same day, while slowing down for traffic, although i pushed on brakes, car did not seem to respond.i was able to maintain control of car since i was traveling at low rate of speed.
Dt*: the contact stated while stopped at a traffic light, there was a rattling and grumbling noise coming from under the hood.shortly thereafter, the power steering failed, and heat was felt coming from the dashboard and under the floor on the driver side of the vehicle.the vehicle was able to be coasted near a parking lot, and driven into a parking space.excessive force was required to turn the steering wheel, which was accompanied by grinding noises.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who determined that the mounting holes in the side of the engine block used for mounting the brackets that held the power steering pump onto the engine were not drilled properly.this caused the power steering pump to detach, which, while floating around under the hood, caused other components to detach.the dealer attempted to replace the affected components, however the mounting holes did not line up, preventing anything from being replaced.the entire engine was replaced to correct the problem.
