One day, while driving, a vehicle defect caused the driver-side airbag of my mom's 2011 jaguar xf to deploy, while the vehicle was in motion. There was no collision that prompted this explosion.a design fault of this magnitude caused the driver to lose control of the car. Luckily, a crash was avoided. This is a serious safety issue. Immediately, my mom took the car to the dealership. After running codes and speaking with a representative at the dealership, my mom was instructed to pay for this fault manufactured into her car.further, no investigation was completed to determine if this deployment was a one-time occurrence or a fault in multiple cars. Jaguar has a legal and moral obligation of ensuring the safety of their customers.
We were driving north on i-75 and exited at highway m-24.as we turned rt., the left front tire lost air pressure (lt. Front car tire was recently changed and not sure proper sealant was used when installing new tire) and the car suddenly shot to the left and we went over an embankment into a ditch for approx. 20 feet then shot up and over an expressway entrance ramp into a steel barrier.the seat belts were on both of us and the airbags deployed.we both suffered severe blunt force body trauma and had to be taken by ems to the local hospital.recovery has been slow as whip lash and back injuries just don't seem to want to heal.on another note, my right ear was damaged by the explosion from the air bag deployment and now i have high shrill ringing 24/7 and can't sleep.i have been to hearing specialists and they say it is tenitius (spelling) but there does not seem to be any solution.does anyone in government have any solutions?this is driving me crazy.
Takata recallreceived the recall notice on 7/29/16. Have inquired 4 times about the recall and having may airbag replaced and have been told jaguar has not released the parts yet to perform the replacement recall.
I received notice that i need a new airbag from the recall as of july 29, 2016. No recall on my vehicle has been undertaken as of yet. I would like to know the reason for the delay.
Takata recall - i am filing this complaint due to the poor handling of this recall by jaguar corporate. On 7/29/16 we received a letter regarding the recall, and informed that they would be following up with a 2nd letter and instructions. On 12/6/16, no letter received, i called and s/w "kadar" in the corporate call center, and was told a letter would be received by "q4 2016". No letter received by 1/12/17, and i called and spoke with "kadar" again - and she offered me a "like for life" replacement - which meant replacing the faulty airbag with another faulty (but newer) airbag - takata supplier has not given them a date on when this will be available. I didn't hear anything back again. On 10/2/17, we reached out to jaguar to find out the status. We were told that the airbags shipped to the dealers over 2 months ago, and ready to replace. I am frustrated with the poor communication on this. If we had not reached out today on this, we would have never known that the airbags were available for replacement. No one at the jaguar corporate office seemed to concerned with this when i complained today. I just wanted to file an official complaint on the lack of communication and very poor handling of this situation by jaguar. Thank god no one was hurt due to the delayed response by jaguar.

Takata recall - it has been over 8 months since i received the notice of the recall.everytime i call the jaguar number listed in the letter, i am told they have no idea of when they might be starting repairs.i don't want to wait until there is a fatality to get someone to fix this problem.

The passenger airbag works intermittently when my wife sits in the passenger seat.my wife weighs approximately 100 pounds.the manufacturer says that the passenger airbag is designed to not work for passengers 100 pounds or less and says that this serious safety issue to within their diagnostics.i believe that this issue is a serious safety issue and jaguar refuses to correct the issue or return or replace the vehicle.the airbags on this vehicle have not been engineered correctly and jaguar needs to be held accountable for their error.my wife refuses to drive as a passenger in this car.i purchased this car for my wife, who was present at the time of purchase.jaguar failed to mention at time of purchase that the airbags would not work for a personal who weighs 100 pounds or less.i believe that jaguar needs to be required to remedy this very serious safety issue.

My gearshift selector keeps going out i was in the drve through, put my vehicle in park because i was idling too long, tried shifting back into drive vehcle would not shift, 2 hours later after several angry customers my vehicle shifted into drive, get home to put into park vehicle would not shift to park, so now im stuck in drive, couldnt do anything but sit and wait nothing, so i had to shut vehicle off and doing so vehicle rolled with no brakes hitting vehicle in front of me, luckily it was my vehicle, vehicle has not reverted back to operation still stuck in drive

Hi fumes of gasoline odor inside the car.after i found out there has been a recall for fuel leak for 2010-2012 model i contacted jaguar and they issued a case number also they said my vin was not included in the recall but they recommended to take it to a jag dealer to assess the repair.jaguar later denied any further help with repair facilitation although i expressed my concerns about the safety problem being the same as the vins they recalled!
My car has a strong gas smell inside and out it is leaking fuel underneath the car when you lift the backseat up the fuel is shooting out, i took the vehicle to jaguar and they said there is a crack in the fuel pump flange. When i attempted to start the vehicle the low-pressure fuel line ruptured spilling approximately 2-5 gallons of gas under the vehicle - creating a massive safety and hazard issue in the shopping center parking lot.if i was actually driving the car when the hose ruptured gas would have spilled over the entire hot engine resulting in fire or possible death.
The original fuel pump on the car failed on 3/16/16 resulting in engine shutdown and subsequent loss of vehicle control while driving on a city street. A new fuel pump with jaguar part number c2d25079 was installed by jaguar land rover carlsbad, ca.this replacement fuel pump also failed on 8/19/16 resulting in loss of vehicle control while driving on a city street. Another fuel pump with the same part number was installed on 8/24/16 by the same dealer. We are concerned that we may have another failure while driving which results in the engine shutting down with subsequent loss of braking, turning, etc. Repair work was performed by jaguar land rover carlsbad, 5660 paseo del norte, carlsbad, ca 92008, phone 760-404-5600.
I currently have a model year 2011 xf vehicles and it is equipped with a 5.0l gasoline engine. It is my understanding that this issue was affecting 2010-2012 xf vehicles equipped with the 5.0 l gasoline engine. The affected vehicles may have a fuel tank fuel outlet flange that may crack.i'm currently having the same issue that the recall is speaking of; however, my vehicle is not in the current recall. I wanted to bring this to jaguar's attention for current owners like myself, for the affected vehicles may have a fuel tank fuel outlet flange that may crack. I think this is a very dangerous recall that should be for all of 2010-2012 xf that have this issue.this is the information that is currently posted online for jaguar's customers to see, but when i called about this recall, i was informed it didn't apply to me even though i am affected.
While driving down i-95 south, a motorist pointed to me and at my vehicle that a problem had occurred. My 2011 xf jaguar leaked fuel. I pulled off the freeway and stopped the car. After raising the hood, i could see gasoline leaking from the engine. Vehicle died while driving and will not turn over.this happened a few times before.my mechanic tells me that it is the fuel pump and that they were able to start the car by banging under the car near the fuel pump location. Jaguar has a recall on the fuel pump relay for my car year and engine, but the jaguar national headquarters says that it doesn't apply to my vehicle.seems like a similar problem that should be covered by them.
Had a 100 miles left in tank got gas filled it up left gas station got on freeway doing 70mph car stalled no warning no nothing almost caused major wreck. Had to tow car home didn't start until next day got code p0627 meaning a bad fuel pump relay which is already a recall on the same year and engine 5.0 v8 xf but not on my xfr 5.0 needs to be recalled and paid for.
My car is leaking gas and i was told by jaguar that it's not included in the recall on fuel leakage for that model. However nhtsa says there is a recall. I can smell gas while driving it an it leaks outs once i stop. I am not driving it again.
The in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated as the fuel pump relay is not energized following a vehicle startup cycle.an inadequate supply of fuel to the engine could result. Fuel starvation to the engine leads to engine stumble followed by engine cutout with minimal warning and could potentially cause a crash,i was in motion doing65 mph on a freeway and the car stop with no warning .i had to tow it to my house.a week later the car started again but the mechanic advise me to replace the fuel pump based on the recall.
Vehicle subject to apparent fuel starvation. Engine cuts out and cannot be restarted.sometimes when stationary and sometimes when moving. On july 20, 2017, at approximately 6:30 am, i was driving my 2011 jaguar xf in the far right lane enroute to the philadelphia international airport for a flight to attend my youngest sister's funeral. I was traumatized by the sudden massive fireball and car fire, and the possibility of missing my early morning flight. The fire started while i drove down i-95 south in philadelphia, pa. It was a motorist that pointed to me and at my vehicle that a problem had occurred. I could not determine what the problem was but i knew the performance of my vehicle was very poor. Another indicator of something being terribly wrong is that i could see blue smoke coming from the hood of my car. I exited the freeway immediately and stopped the car on enterprise avenue. After raising the hood, suddenly and without notice, i could smell and see gasoline leaking from the left side of my engine. It did not take long for the vehicle to become engulfed in fireball flames from gasoline leaks.i did nothing to cause this vehicle fire. At all times, i maintained proper speed limits and i always continued proper maintenance records on my vehicle.

I had my 2011 jaguar running while i wait for a locksmith and i could smell fuel coming from the vehicle mainly on the side where the gas tank is located. Once i sat inside the vehicle i could smell gas inside. I looked underneath the vehicle on the gas tank side and i noticed a fuel leak on the tank underneath. I had it checked and was told that it has to do with with the flange. I read that there is a recall but when i put in my vin- it states no repairs or recalls. This should be covered.

We were driving north on i-75 and exited at highway m-24.as we turned rt., the left front tire lost air pressure (lt. Front car tire was recently changed and not sure proper sealant was used when installing new tire) and the car suddenly shot to the left and we went over an embankment into a ditch for approx. 20 feet then shot up and over an expressway entrance ramp into a steel barrier.the seat belts were on both of us and the airbags deployed.we both suffered severe blunt force body trauma and had to be taken by ems to the local hospital.recovery has been slow as whip lash and back injuries just don't seem to want to heal.on another note, my right ear was damaged by the explosion from the air bag deployment and now i have high shrill ringing 24/7 and can't sleep.i have been to hearing specialists and they say it is tenitius (spelling) but there does not seem to be any solution.does anyone in government have any solutions?this is driving me crazy.

My gearshift selector keeps going out i was in the drve through, put my vehicle in park because i was idling too long, tried shifting back into drive vehcle would not shift, 2 hours later after several angry customers my vehicle shifted into drive, get home to put into park vehicle would not shift to park, so now im stuck in drive, couldnt do anything but sit and wait nothing, so i had to shut vehicle off and doing so vehicle rolled with no brakes hitting vehicle in front of me, luckily it was my vehicle, vehicle has not reverted back to operation still stuck in drive

Once set, further accelerator petal pressure will not increase speed beyond set speed. Accelerator pressure had been applied due to many hours of operating from trip from florida to huntington, ny(selling dealer's location). The vehicle was later taken to jaguar of greensboro (1205 bridford pkwy, greensboro, nc 27047, (336) 299-1500) where it was diagnosed that the high compression fuel pump, ball joint, and fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and informed the contact that the warranty would not cover the repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

I received notice that i need a new airbag from the recall as of july 29, 2016. No recall on my vehicle has been undertaken as of yet. I would like to know the reason for the delay.
Safety issue due to defective dashboard.these cars has a defect with the dashboard.i purchase the care in jan of this year and it was in supreme condition as the previous owner kept it in her garage.i do not have a garage, so when the temp reach over 100 degrees the dashboard started to melt, pulling away from the speakers and dwindshield.needless to say it is ugly and jaguar will not take responsibility for their product and that it was improperly installed. The safety issue with this is, i keep taking my eyes off the road because the glare of the windshield draws my attention to the dashboard as i drive. I have seen on line that many consumers are having this issue and jaguar will not recall it because they cost about $6000 the hqs wants to give me $1600 towards replacing, and i am telling them no..... Why should i go behind jaguar and fix their defective part?its not acceptable by any means. Someone needs to look into this and i just pray i don't have an accident due to this issue.in addition, the dealership sells a third party warranty that is suppose to cover sun uv ray damages to the interior of the vehicle and they said it is a defect by jaguar manufacturer---so they won't get stuck with the bill.the insurance company agrees and will not cover the damages as a comprehensive loss. No one wants to take the responsibility and is passing it on to the consumer who is not at fault.additional information is attached as you requested.

I have a live that comes on that says restricted performances and it's so dangerous i was driving on the interstate and soon as that light restricted performance the car lost of power... It don't do any every time i pushed of the gas the car slowed down. The car only have 70,000 miles on it. Is this not a recall on that?
2011 jaguar xfr supercharged dashboard glare & visibility obstruction the leather dashboard on the jaguar xfr supercharged has begun to separate, ripple, & bubble. Resulting in a serious safety issue as the rippling (looks similar to waves) causes the sun to reflect / glare directly to the windshield & into the operators eyes. The result, under certain circumstance (high noon, very sunny days, dusk/dawn), is complete vision impairment.
There is a recall number by nhtsa 16v-373 and manufacturers recall number jd69 but it is undetermined what the problem is

I was accelerating away from traffic lights and the throttle jammed open.i had to switch into neutral to reduce the revs and bring the car under control.
I was on highway with my family travelling 60 mph when the car suddenly accelerated..i took my foot off the gas and the speed failed to decrease.i applied the brakes which did work but the engine still continued to race..the brakes overtook the acceleration and slowed the car but each time i took my foot off the brakes the carresumed accelerating at a high speed( without my foot on the gas.)i slowed the car by applying with force the brakes which was causing aburning smell probably from the brake pads. I drove the car to the closest shoulder of the highway( about 1/2 mile) that i encountered at which point i placed the car in neutral while it was still moving slightly while my foot pushing hard against the brake..while the car was in neutral the engine still continued to race although the car was stationary at that point.i turned off the engine and then waited about five minutes.after five minutes i turned on the engine at which time it was not racing. The car was taken to my jaguar dealership and left there for three days.a report was sent by the dealer to jaguar although my dealership was unable to determine the cause of the sudden acceleration.
