Jaguar sent me a letter with a recall related to the passanger airbad stating "prolonged exposure to combined high heat and humidity can cause the affected inflators to degrade -- at varying rates in different conditions -- increasing the risk that the front passenger airbag module inflator housing may rupture and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash; potentially resulting in metal fragments striking the passenger or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death". I feel unsafe driving this car now and want to sell my car since jaguar have not scheduled a repair yet and customer service denies to give a specific date range. I am scared to drive this car since it is a major safety hazard and would like jaguar to either fix this issue now, or give me a fixed date and give me a refund on the car.i cannot even sell this car since it is illegal to sell this car with this recall and dealers would not buy it from me. After multiple conversations with jaguar customer service jaguar could provide no solution to this problem and just asked me to keep waiting.

"takata recall" called the dealer several times and no reasonable time exepcted to repair the problem.

The dashboard is bubbled up and separated causing decreased visibility due to glare from glue and possible obstruction of airbag deployment due to dashboard warping. After being inspected by dealer, only option given was to replace the dashboard which is not covered by warranty. Also wood grain interior trim splinters on dashboard below navigation screen, in door insert panels and in center consoles causing cuts and splinters. This also was not covered by warranty.

During a visit to the jaguar land rover mission viejo dealership for a check engine light issue, my wife was told that they would need to keep the vehicle for an extended period of time due to a recall on the airbags. I was then contacted later that day to pick up the vehicle and told that the parts were not available to replace the airbag, but that the vehicle was safe to drive. Upon looking up this recall today it states that even a minor collision could cause metal fragments to strike the driver or passenger resulting in injury or death. How is this safe?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. The contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number:17v027000 (air bags) was received in january of 2017. After contacting the dealer (howard orloff jaguar in chicago, il), the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the defect were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was unknown. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Nhtsa & airbagrecall.com say my vin is not included.creditkarma.com (insurance by vehicle evaluation score) and "chapter 11 legal notice" re: takata airbags say i'm included.who is correct in this serious and consequential recall?

Takata recall_ contacted the jag dealership and they said just keep driving around in this death trap until the manufacturer can make enough to catch up. I'm on the road about 3 hrs a day for my job and this is very distressing. It might be years before they resolve this issue. Do we just continue to drive this death trap until someone gets killed?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v373000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf.while driving approximately 60 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle.his vehicle sustained moderate damage and none of the air bags deployed.a police report was filed, but he was not injured.the cause of the air bag failure has not been determined.the contact has not received a response from the manufacturer.the failure and current mileages were 7,000.

Takata recall -- no replacement part available according to jaguar.

The dashboard bubbles up and separates causing decreased visibility due to glare from glue and possible obstruction of airbag deployment due to dashboard warping. After being inspected by dealer, only option given was to replace the dashboard which is not covered by warranty. Also wood grain interior trim splinters on dashboard below nav screen, in door insert panels and in center consoles causing cuts and splinters. This also was not covered by warranty. Also horn pad works intermittently causing a dangerous situation. After bringing to dealer it was diagnosed user error that i was not hitting the pad hard enough. After dealer hit pad so hard it bent the emblem on horn, dealer then refused liability for parts broken while in shop.

Takata recall.this complaint relates to how long it is taking for my dealer to replace my recalled passenger airbag.i was issued the recall notice from jaguar in july of 2016, but 8 months later they still say they dont have parts to correct the safety issue.i feel this is needlessly long and putting my safety at risk.

Takata recall-safety recall j069 takata passenger airbags-recall no 16v373. Received recall notification letter dated july 29, 2016. To date have not received 2nd notification to take car to authorized dealer. I have several attempts to check status and told the parts are not available.

Takata recall is the front airbag module which has had a recall for several months now and i'm afraid to drive my car because of that especially with my dashboard pulling apart. I had previously sent a complaint in about my dashboard but never heard anything back from nhtsa. Since i contacted you the first time my dashboard has gotten worse and i'm paying every month for a car i can't drive. Jaguar land rover used faulty adhesive on their dashboards causing a major issue for jaguar owners and expecting us to pay thousands of dollars for an unsafe car that they put on the road. I would like to have my recall done asap along with my dashboard. Jaguar is the cause of all of this and as soon as something happens they will have a serious lawsuit on their hands. The leather on my dashboard is bubbling up in the middle near the speaker and the leather is pulling apart from the dashboard to where you can see the actual dash it self. Please help me i'm a disabled, full time college student who doesn't have a lot of money and can't afford to be ripped off anymore by jaguar usa. If pictures are needed please let me know thanks so much.

Takata recall. Received notification that airbag is defective on july 29 and it has not been fixed. I feel very unsafe driving with a defective airbag, but have no other alternative.

The leather dash has separated from the back causing ridges in the leather up to 3/4" high.in the event of a crash this will prevent proper deployment of the airbag.the leather needs to be firmly attached and stretched tight for the stitching to rip correctly.if the leather is loose and ridged, the stitching will only partially rip and may prevent full airbag deployment into the cabin.

Takata recalli was notified that the parts are currently unavailable to fix the issue, but that the problem may cause serious injury or death.it seems that in the event of a problem of this nature, if a remedy is not available, there should be an alternative, for example compensation that helps affected drivers rent or buy a different vehicle.i am concerned as i need to continue to drive my vehicle, but it has been communicated that it is unsafe.what recourse is available to me / us?

Takata recall the transmissionslips out of gear all the time. Now my shiftier is stuck in gear.the car will be still and it gets stuck.i've had this car for almost five years and towards the end it has given me hell. Transmission always failing while driving no matter on highway or street. There's also a lag when driving above 50mph.

Inside car interior lights comes on and off while driving on it's own. Even at night while driving the interior light will come and off by themselves for apparent reason. I've google an seen a lot of complaints on jaguar website about the same issue been reported since 2011 with no recall to fix the issue an as of today i'm still experiencing this issue.engine makes a ticking noise while idling and worse after acceleration. As if something is lose put in shop a few time they checked the timing chain, lifters, and used an stethoscope to find the problem still can't. Just told me to drive until the engine goes out.

I have experienced multiple malfunctions of the tpms system.all four tires are inflated to mfr specifications yet the instrument panel intermittently reports a fault.

The electrical issue in this car is completely unbearable, it consistently drains the battery until it is dead and cannot take a jump start. I was told by a gentleman that there was a recall in regards to this matter. The fuel system is also a major complication. The fuel comes through the vents of the vehicle and it is so potent that i have gotten sick on a few occasions while operating the vehicle. The vehicle can be stationary and in motion while these mishaps are occurring. It is really sad and disappointing to sell cars this expensive and experience so many complications. My vehicle is in the repair shop at this very moment.

Nhtsa campaign id number 08v607000, also occurs in my vehicle the 2009 jaguar xf supercharged but the vin is not included in the safety recall. Jaguar will not repair the problem even though it is a know issue in that make model and year. The 2009 the speaker fails, the following audible notifications are impacted: turn indicator, seat belt warning, lights 'on' warning, driver's door open with key in ignition, driver intervene (adaptive cruise control vehicles only) and seat memory. The audible seat belt warning is to remind drivers to wear their safety belt. If the audible warning is not present, drivers may neglect to wear their safety belt, thereby increasing the risk of injury or death in the event of a crash.

I was driving in a parking lot and came to a stop but the car then accelerated and i had brake hard to hold the car back.i put the car into park.when i attempted to put the car into gear again, i could not move the shifter.i turned the car off and restarted it, and the car ran fine the rest of the evening. The next day, i was again in a parking lot and as i try to park, the engine accelerates wildly.i was able to hold the car with the brakes and put it into park.once in park, the engine continued to rev.the shifter was now stuck.i tapped the shifter and that allowed me to shift the car and the engine went to normal operation. As of 12/11, the problem has not happened again.i will be taking the car to my dealer for diagnosis.

The issues that i am having started and was noticed about 2 years ago.i noticed the turn signal sounded distorted or like a short was developing in the system.then i noticed the key in the ignition and the seat belt warnings were no longer audible.these indications were listed in campaign 08v607000.

I purchased the 2009 jaguar xf supercharge and i had multiple stalls in this vehicle , where it would stop working and the reading board would read default system and would not start from anywhere to 2-20 minutes. I took the vehicle in of course several times and they only indicated it one time on one invoice, even though i had the recurring issue with this car. I finally took a video and gave it to the jaguar shop in walnut creek (european jaguar), and they sent the video to the manufacture. I was contacted by letter by the manufacturer saying sorry for your trouble. I also spoke to [xxx]my advisor who explained that the manufacture new the problem. Nothing seemed to fix this issue and finally on may 3, 2011, i was traveling on 580 westbound and the car exploded into flames. I escaped but with injuries to the right wrist and right knee, and left ankle, needing surgery and ptsd. I was told that my vehicle had the same type of 2010 models that were recalled, as to the gas flange /gas tank system, that could be related. I, however want to make a complaint because for the safety of others and if my children who were in the vehicle earlier that morning at 7:50 am , they would have ended in two deaths, likely three trying to rescue them. The explosion occurred at approximately 10;30 a.m. On may 3, 2011. I would like to thank you for your time and cooperation in taking the complaint. I can forward photos and anything else you would require if needed. Thank you [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 2009 jaguar has been in the shop for almost 1 year, i was told that it was the wire harness, however the wire harness was replaced under my extended warranty and the problem still exist. I purchased the 2009 jaguar at car max in 2012, after about 3 months it was in for oil change and antifreeze was smelt, they put me in a rental and my car was returned after about 1 week. This was a third vehicle for my household so it was basically garage kept, after about 1 year( with following normal oil changes, my abs/ebs and otherlights started coming on, it was taken to car max where the put me in a loaner car and kept my car for about 2-3 months, stating wire harness...fast forward, the same lightscame on again and again it went to the same mechanical shop on june 19,2018 and its still in the shop now!please hlep

Car shift knob will get stuck randomly

This happened for the first time on 09/04/2016. I was going in highway at 70mph the car suddenly stopped for 0.5 second and turned on by itself. All the electrical system restarted at that time. I did not take it seriously at that time and it started to come again and this time it is in the local road where i was going at 30 mph. This time the car stopped and the steering is struck. I changed the car to park mode and started the car again. The same thing happened several times after that and the car started automatically. I have a new battery on the car and the key fob has new battery and the car started straightway. I don't see any other problems other than this. I took the take to a mechanic and they could not diagnose the issue and asked to take it to the jaguar dealer. I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow. Yesterday it happened again the highway and this time the car stopped. I managed to pull the car to the side lane and started the car again.this is very dangerous condition. Hence i'm reporting this.

Recall alert: jaguar xffacebooktwitterposted: december 9, 2008jaguar is recalling about 3,800 2009 xf sedans due to an electrical defect that could result in a number of problems.in a defect notice filed with the national highway traffic safety administration, jaguar explains, "the instrument cluster speaker wires may fracture as a consequence of an overly aggressive tick-tock sound wave form, the volume of which is vehicle speed dependent." the xf makes the tick-tock sound when its turn signal is engaged - and at high speed, the sound may be loud enough to crack the rubber coating on speaker wires."in the event of a speaker failure, the following audible notifications will cease to function - directional indicators, seat belt warning, 'lights on' warning, driver's door open with the key in the ignition, driver intervention (adaptive cruise control equipped vehicles) and seat memory."dealers will make a simple software adjustment, free of charge, to fix the problem.owners should receive a letter in the mail explaining the recall this week.this is the second time the xf has been recalled since it came on the market just a few months ago.the earlier recall, involving a seatbelt defect, was a far more serious safety risk - but the fact that the vehicle has been recalled twice in such a short time might concern some buyers.the xf is a mechanically complex car with many features not found in other vehicles, from a shift knob that sits inside the console when the car is off and raises into the driver's hand after the vehicle is started, to a touch-sensitive glovebox lock.jaguar has historically faced quality control problems.the xf is a sharp-looking car with a powerful engine that has won praise from many reviewers, but quality problems with this car could defeat jaguar's efforts to reform its image.

I have enjoyed this vehicle overall except for three issues limited to quality.the nav unit failed shutting down the entire fiber optic network and the dash pad delaminated.the front lca busing are also problematic.

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. The contact stated that the instrument panel and speakers malfunctioned. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 08v607000 (electrical system) and took the vehicle to a dealer for diagnosis. The contact was informed that the instrument cluster control module software would need to be reconfigured but her vin was not included in the recall campaign. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 42,000.

Transmission control shift module - there was a recall notice k063 dated 9/19/11 from jaguar about trasmission control switch (tcs) replacement for the 2009 xfs. Apparently, the earlier k048 recall for the circuit board fix didn't quite cure all the problems. My transmission control shift module got stuck wouldn't go into drive or reverse; it was stationary. I had it towed to the jaguar dealer, they stated that the recall was for certain jaguars particular to vin#'s. I advised them thatmy car is doing the same thing as recall manufacturer# k063. They stated it was not pertaining to my car, so they are charging me $1,200 to fix instead of apply the recall. I believe there has to be a mistake and my car should of been included on the recall list. I need someone to look more thoroughly into this issue as i am getting resistance from the manufacturer, and dealership.

My entire car shutdown and i could not gain access to the interior without use of my emergency key.i had the battery and alternator tested and they were both fine.this happened twice.once the car became operational again my keys no longer worked and the module had to be replaced along with the keys for me to gain entry to crank the car.that came at a healthy price tag from the jaguar dealership of $1400+.the entire car just shuts down completely without warning.

My 2009 jaguar has been in the shop for almost 1 year, i was told that it was the wire harness, however the wire harness was replaced under my extended warranty and the problem still exist. The most recent incident occurred as i was pulling out of my garage.i turned the car on, rotated the shifter to "d" (i had backed into the garage), and as i depressed the accelerator the speed increased to a higher speed then the pressure i was using to accelerate.i depressed the brake as hard as i could to slow the car down and was able to turn the car off in the process by pressing the "start" button.when i restarted the car the car drove normally.this happened once before as i was slowly pulling in to my garage.the accelerator engaged but i was able to avoid driving through my house.

Takata recall the transmissionslips out of gear all the time. Transmission always failing while driving no matter on highway or street. There's also a lag when driving above 50mph.

1 - lower steering column had to be replaced2 - catastrophic loss of engine coolant; two different pipes failed at same time causing immediate loss of coolant while vehicle is being driven down the highway; received low coolant level alert, pulled over, refilled coolant level, watched coolant level drain out.

I was notified by my dad that picked up my car from the yard that he heard rattling when he saw my vehicle. Before i shipped my car it wasn't making any rattling noises. I'm not sure what's going on because i wasn't there to see anything but he end up towing the car because he didn't want to drive the car running with a rattling sound. It was stationary but already running when he first approached it and noticed the rattling. How can this case be resolve?

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. No warning lights illuminated on the instrumental panel prior to the failure. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and it was towed to a dealer who could not diagnose the failure. Themanufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.updated 4/1/11 updated 05/31/11

Car stalls upon a "warm" start.may require 2 attempts for the car to stay running.took it to the dealership 3 times and because the problem is intermittent, they were unable to replicate the problem.i was told by the dealership that jaguar north america is aware of the problem but there is no fix available at this time.

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The failure recurred sporadically.the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure where the dealer performed a diagnostic that was unable to locate a failure code. The dealer replaced the gear shift and the transmission control sensor. The failure was not corrected and the vehicle continued to stall. The manufacturer was contacted and they advised the contact to take to vehicle back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 52,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently exhibits a no start condition. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the entire computer system memory was replaced. After the repair, the failure resurfaced. The dealer was notified; however, the technicians have been unable to identify the cause nor remedy the failure. The failure and current mileages were 10,000.

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf.the contact stated that while attempting to stop at an intersection, he engaged the brakes and the brake pedal sunk into the floorboard. The contact also mentioned that the transmission failed to shift into gear. In addition, the check engine warning light was continuously illuminated and the vehicle decelerated independently and without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the catalytic converter was defective, the brake lines were corroded and the gear box needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 44,000 and the current mileage was 71,000.

The rear led bulbs goes out one by one until there all out leaving you with no other choice but to replace the entire tail light lens.

The sensor for the light over my rear view mirror keeps flickering.i had the sensor replaced when i initially purchased the vehicle.the sensor apparently is unstable and needs replacing again.the light constantly flickers causing visibility to be difficult in seeing oncoming traffic.this seems like it would be a huge safety issue that can result in an accident.

While driving at night with headlights on, signaling a left turn with turn signal arm the headlights goes off.

I believe jaguar should recall the fuel rail because the aluminum fuel rails corrode from the inside out from using certain ethanol fuels with low water content, whichcause a pinhole that sprayed raw gasoline onto a hot engine which cause a fire. Those aluminum fuel rails were need to be replaced with stainless steel rails.my car was almost caught on fire due to a pinhole fuel leak which developed.and this occurred while stationary and moving the smell was so strong i had to drive with the windows down.and to make matters worst the fuel rail is no longer available through jaguar the part is obsolete so how can we have are car repaired if jaguar doesn't even carry the part ???

Faulty transmission.....the vehicle will not engage in drive. Each time the vehicle comes to a stop the vehicle will shift into neutral. You will then have to turn the vehicle off and back on to go forward. But when the vehicle comes tostop the vehicle shifts out of gear again. A new trans is needed due to the 3rd and 4th gears no engaging. The vehicle is less than five years old, although it has over 140k miles.this seems to be a recurring theme with the xf model. This vehicle has always been serviced at a jaguar dealer and for the vehicle to require a new transmission is very saddening. How does a luxury brand fail so much with the powertrain.

The contact owns a 2009 jaguar xf. While driving 15 mph, the transmission warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted and taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the fuel regulator failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to another dealer for a second diagnostic testing. The dealer diagnosed that the failure was an internal failure inside the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 74,000.

Began noticing a small whine in the differential, more obvious at low speed. Level of noise increased rapidly. Called dealer for an appointment 10/22/12 saw them that day and they verified the problem. Called jaguar for authorization. Notified by jaguar on 10/23/12 full authorization to replace the entire differential. Dealer advises an anticipated two day delivery time for replacement. Note: completely satisfied that the dealer was helpful in such rapid authorization and turn around of replacement parts.my understanding is that usually a diff. Fluid analysis and "other remedies" are suggested prior to a major component replacement. I anticipate receiving the car back friday the 26th, or the following monday. They also notified me of a tail light recall which had not been done, which i had not been advised of by jaguar.

The rear differential seal failed due to faulty manufacturing process wherein contaminated "lifetime" differential fluid was sealed into the differential housing causing excessive and premature pinion gear wear. This wear results in movement of the half shafts and the destruction of the differential seals. In order to remedy the situation an entire "new" differential must be installed. Simply ordering replacement seals and pinion gears will not suffice as the differential design was changed and the new components are of a different size, which results in requiring complete replacement of the rear differential at a cost of anywhere from $6200 - $8900, according to jaguar dealerships. Jaguar is fully aware of this issue and have issued many tsb regarding same; however, they failed to take preventive action on tens of thousands of vehicles, many of which did not show symptoms of failure until after the manufacturer's warranty expires, resulting in hefty bills to unsuspecting owners.

When it suddenly accelerated, i had the brake on, i could barely hold it back ,it jumped the curb .....i could not stop that car ,it was trying to climba chain link fence... The only thing that stop thecarwas when i hit the steel pole...there was $8,200.00worth of damage done to this car.... My son and i were not hurt ,but we could have been if it would have broke thur that fence... We wouldhave went down a embankmentand might ofhit a tree, or rolled over.... My husband had it towed to jaguar deal where they said "they couldn't find a think wrong with it".. Now, i have this dangerouscar and i'm scared to death to drive it again.... I willhad to drive it, because i have to much money in it ..but, i will never allow anyone to ride in it ever again.... I will never put there lives in danger.... Please, if you have one these devil cars be careful and be aware of this problem..

My car was driving fine and for some reason the rear gear shaft or so i heard it is called failed and was not allowing me drive the car without a loud grinding sound and when the gears locked up the car would stop very quickly.

While in the act of parking my father n law's car at the mall. I began to pull the car forward after a complete stop with my foot covering and applying the brake as another car began to pass in front of me. His 2009 jaguar xfl surge and acceleratedviolently while the brakes were applied. Although this action didn't cause any accident or injury to anyone nor property damage. This occurrence was not the first while driving his car during my vacation in puerto rico. I'm writing to make others aware of the unsolicited acceleration problem this car has for fear of not just my safety and my family's safety but other consumers who might have purchased this car and are experiencing the same problem. The transmission locked into neutral and could not be moved into any other gear.an internet search will show that this happens often with the 2009 jaguar xf.

On the night of july 2nd. 2011, i stopped my 2009 jaguar xf in a parking lot.i was unable to turn the gear dial selector from s (sports) and noticed a warning which said gearbox fault.i turned off the engine and applied the parking brake.i was unable to restart the car as the transmission was still engaged.i was unable to use the internet on my cell phone but called a friend who googled the problem and told me to wait a while.i did this and was able to operate the gear selector dial and continue the 30 miles to my home.on parking at my home the same thing happened and i was unable to disengage the transmission selector dial.on exiting the car a warning sign indicated that the transmission was still engaged.i turned off the engine and waited and was again able to disengage the transmission.i believe this is a very serious safety issue and could have significant consequences if the transmission got stuck in reverse when in a busy parking lot or on a busy road.i have had other problems related to power drainage on this vehicle which rendered it unable to be opened or start.i no longer trust this car until the item is fixed and since this is a july 4th weekend my alternate transportation options are limited.this transmission failure is serious in my opinion.

The transmission sticks in drive.jaguar service action k048 was performed after about the fourth time it stuck in gear.after dealer had car for several days only 2 hours after picking it up it was dragged with the wheels locked up back on the tow truck with the transmission stuck in drive.the car has been at the dealer now for 15 days and all we are being told is that the transmission control switch (tcs) is broken and there are no replacements available.we were not even given any estimate of when the car will be repaired or if it can be repaired.this is a very serious safety defect with this transmission i have read enough blogs to know that all xf's have this transmission defect and this should be a major recall item.i'm going to ask jaguar to purchase the car back.

I leased a new 2009 jaguar xf on 3/17/08. The car had one noticeable serious design defect that will certainly kill someone eventually.i reported it to the dealer, sale, service, and regional jaguar.the car has the new "paddle" shifting levers behind the steering wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions.it is nearly impossible to drive the car without accidentally hitting the paddles -sometimes at inopportune moments, sometimes at high speed.

Rear brake issue.took my 2009 xf to the dealer for an oil change.i was informed that the rear brakes were gone and the tires needed to be replaced.i was informed by the dealer that the rear brakes are lucky to get 7500 miles."it just the way it is".i had the brakes changed & took the car to a high performance alignment shop.1st we found the dealer never aligned the tires "even though they were paid by jag to do so"next he discovered that the emergency brake never completely releases & that's why your burning out brakes.if you drive the car over 150 -200 at one time try placing you hand on the emergency brake.you'll receive 2nd degree burns from the heat transfer of the emergency brake dragging.when i told this to the dealer on my very first visit, i was told jag knew about this, but had no fix.my recommendation is stay away from jag.

2009 jaguar xf - when brake pedal is depressed, it goes past the accelerator pedal causing the foot to hit the accelerator and the brake at the same time. Had my 2009 jaguar xf to dealer for scheduled service on 2-18-10.car had 12,000 on it.discovered rear disc brake pads were worn out needing replacement.front pads looked just fine.rear pads should not degrade in only 12,000 miles.was told this is normal as the rear brakes handle most of the stopping power.my understanding has always been it's the front brakes which do most of the work.this car does not have a built in warning indicating the pads are worn, and losing the rear brakes prematurely could result in an accident.whatever is causing the rear brake pads to degrade so quickly needs to be remedied.

1 - lower steering column had to be replaced2 - catastrophic loss of engine coolant; two different pipes failed at same time causing immediate loss of coolant while vehicle is being driven down the highway; received low coolant level alert, pulled over, refilled coolant level, watched coolant level drain out.

I have enjoyed this vehicle overall except for three issues limited to quality.the nav unit failed shutting down the entire fiber optic network and the dash pad delaminated.the front lca busing are also problematic.

Dashboard starts to bubble up and come apart without any warning.

Bubbling dashboard: this issue happen in the summer of 2016. Its unfair that the maker of jaguar will not stand by this growing issue with their dashboard problem. I was told by the dealership, that they will not repair the dash (cost $4,000) and the jaguar maker will not place this problem as a recall issue. When i'm not driving my jaguar, its parked in the garage. I would like the maker of jaguar, take responsibility of this problem and repair this problem to all jaguar owners dashboards .

My entire dashboard is automatically dismantling on it's own.there are bubbles everywhere and it's separating from the console.i am afraid that it will the operation of the airbag restraint system if ever in an accident.i don't use anything on my dashboard to clean it except for a duster.i am afraid from it bubbling all of a sudden it may eventually fly off or get worse and obstruct my driving view.i took the vehicle to jaguar and they do not want to fix the dashboard.instead, they are telling me i can have them fix it for a fee of $3800+.i explained to them it should be coming apart in the first place for it to need fixing.i am so disgusted and aggravated.the entire car needs to be recalled because it is just a piece of junk. It has great engine performance, but massive glitches including electrical.

2009 jaguar xf supercharged dashboard glare & visibility obstruction the leather dashboard on my 2009 jaguar xf supercharged has begun to separate, ripple, & bubble. Resulting in a serious safety issue as the rippling (looks similar to waves) causes the sun to reflect / glare directly to the windshield & into the operators eyes. The result, under certain circumstance (high noon, very sunny days, dusk/dawn), is complete vision impairment. The problem stems from a defective glue / bonding agent applied during the manufacturing process. Once separation begins it progresses and spreads like cancer. The unacceptable repair estimate provided by jaguar, $3,500.00 to $4,500.00, to replace the entire dash. Unnecessary as the defect is the bonding agent, not the hardware. Jaguar & official oem forums suggest a... "cost effective alternative." the remedy via third parties: remove the dashboard, separate the leather, clean, apply a new bonding agent, cure, and reinstall. Because the dashboard is no longer flat, on sunny days & especially at dusk and dawn, the large bubbles & waves cause light to reflect directly to the windshield & the operators eyes. The resulting reflection / glare renders the vehicle completely unsafe to operate during the previously mentioned conditions. Safety is important & jaguar should address this issue via recall & not leave the costly remedy for this known defect to the consumer & potentially unqualified third party repair facilities. This known problem effects a majority of 2009-2011 xf models. Jaguar acknowledge the issue as early 2009. Yet continued to use a manufacturing process known to be defective. The known defect can cause temporary blindness while operating the vehicle. The consequences of driving while blind are obvious. Jaguar, should be required to remedy the defect.

The dashboard of my car is starting to wave up and buckle when the sunlight hits the wavy area it reflect sun into my eyes almost causing me to crash

Dashboard rippled. Took to a specialist and they stated that this issue is a defect. The dashboard letter shrinks and it separates from the foundation of the dash which cause it to stick up and leave a gap between the dash and windsheild. Called jaguar headquarters. Haven't had much luck on return calls

My leatherdash board is bucking and pulling away from dash .i informed jaguar about two years ago and they said since i didn't purchase it from there dealership it not there problem.

We just bought a 2009 jaguar xf two weeks ago. Yesterday when pulling into the driveway, the car's engine surged and i went thru the garage door and didn't stop until i hit the kitchen cabinets, all the while, pressing on the brake. There are skid marks from the beginning of the driveway until the car stopped. No one was hurt thank god, but could have been serious if i had been on the freeway or anywhere for that matter. We had the car towed to the dealership and as of this moment, we have not heard what the reasoning is behind this engine surge.
