On 12/26/05, at approximately 3:55 p.m. Plaintiff was driving a 2004 jaguar sedan vehicle that went from right lane to left lane and continued off roadway into middle median area striking bush and two to three trees 1st small tree/bush flattened, 2nd small tree/bush impacted rear driver side, 3rd large tree head on front driver side main impact - no airbag deployment, driver and passenger suffered serious, severe, and permanent injuries, vehicle was totaled.

On 10/03/09 while driving on high speed highway (had driven approx 150 miles)at speed of65 mph my engine suddenly stopped. I paid to tow vehicle to myhomeauthorized dealer. Found that fuse for fuel pump had blown. Mileage was 35,896.again on 03/21/10 while driving approx 60 mph on i-695(had driven approx 160 miles)my engine suddenly stopped.mileage was 37360.towed vehicle tosame authorized dealer who found that fuse for fuel pump had blown.between the first failure and the second failure the vehicle was driven only 1464 miles.both times i was on high speed road in heavy traffic and nearly hit in read trying to get off roadway. Dealer can't find cause for blown fuse and suggested that remove gasoline tank to check wiring but only if i pay for it. I think dealer should investigate it because this is not normal wear and tear. If the operation of the vehicleis dependent on thefuse one would expect that the fuse not blow while on a high speed highway. Thus, there seems to be a defect in the design of the vehicle. Jaguar should be required to investigate to determine the cause. This vehicle is dangerous and i am concerned about driving it on a trip of any distance. It seems that the fuse blows after driving a distance at high speeds.

Dt:2004 jaguar s type.the consumer states the vehicle cuts off when driving.it has been to the dealership a number of times.whengetting ready to take off it will not accelerate.this has caused a minor accident. There were no injuries, andminor damage to the bumper.vehicle will operate 3-4 weeks and then it will cut off.there is no warning that this is going to happen.the dealership replaced two sensors.the vehicle sunvisor broke.the coolant pump outlet hose had to be replaced.the restricted performance light illuminated, the dealer had to order a new intake air box.the electrically operated front seat runner and motor assembly failed.the vehicle stopped suddenly while the consumer was driving damaging the rear bumper.the consumer later received a recall for the electronic parking brake.the consumer request that the manufacturer replaced the rear bumper and the rear brake pads and rotors due to excessive wear.

See odi number 1032451 for a complaint filed by me for incident on 10/03/09. The same type of event occurred on 03/21/10. I covered it all in the first odi report, but i want to make certain that everyone is aware that the fuse blew again 5 months later after only 1,464 miles after the first time. Something is wrong with the wiring or the electrical system in this vehicle. This is an important fuse because if it blows, the engine stops. Thus, jaguar would not expect the fuse to blow, or otherwise many vehicles would suddenly stop operating while on high speed highway. For this reason, i contend that it is not the fuse itself butsome type of design problem that is causing the fuse to blow. My wife was with me on both trips when it happened. She is afraid to drive in the vehicle especially on a interstate highway. We had planned on several long trips this summer but do not want to take the chance of being killed or stranded on a highway a long distance from home.the first time we paid to have vehicle towed about 140 miles because it was a saturday and no jaguar dealers for about 100 miles.i request that someone from your agency call me to discuss. The dealer did not want to report it to jaguar because they did not know what caused it. I think that they did after i complained and also contacted jaguar customer service. I wonder how many other persons had the fuse blow but they also did not report it to jaguar or anyone. The dealer said that they could remove to fuel tank and check wiring at a cost to me of about $850.00 or replace the fuel pump at a cost too me of $1500.00, but that these may not solve the problem.i think that jaguar should investigate the problem and after they find the problem discuss if i should pay for any of the cost. Please contact me.thanks.

The head lights on the car point down to the ground. At night with my head lights on they shine on about 7 feet in front of the car. I was told a plastic screw breaks off and the lights will droop and shine on the ground. To repair you have to replace head lights at a price of $1,800.00 per light, $3,600,00 for the two front headlights i need both lights. I was told during driving going over bumps in the road it will jar the plastic screw and eventually break. I stuff paper in lights to prop up and try to keep in place. Sometime while driving at night i hit a bump in the road and my head lights just drop and i have to pull over to stuff more paper in there to prop up my lights . If driving down a dark road or on the freeway and this happens it is really bad.i dealt with this the best way i could for all these years and i just recently found out i was not the only one with this problem. Jaguar said they use to sell a kit for this problem but not anymore. I do hope you find many more people with this problem and help us all. Thank you so much in advance.

There is a recall by jaguar r513 vehicle going into reverse gear when you shift from drive and locks up.this vehicle did this. Its says the control module has to be reprogram.now jaguar refuse to do it under the recall..the vehicle is lock in gear and will not move..

This vehicle has issues with the automatic transmission, the transmission is not responding properly to the computer and needs to be reprogrammed in this model, also the parking brakes do get mixed up and if you put the gear control in drive it goes into reverse and the parking brake default light and transmission default light is on, my vehicle malfunctioned with the parking brake while i was in the parking lot and leaving to go home i place it in drive and it jumped into reverse....very dangerous and almost caused an accident and the transmission default happened when the vehicle was in drive and would not accelerate in speed or even go properly at all

While on the expressway while coming to a stop my car switched into reverse on its own while it was in the drive.the car began to drive backwards almost causing a major crash on i64 east in virginia. This nearly resulted in me losing my life as well as passengers and other drivers. The car also has an automatic parking lock engaging error which locked my entire car and prevented me from driving. This also occurred and nearly a week ago in drive thru a week ago. While in the drive thru the car locked in park and would not allow me to drive. Unfortunately, i had to pay to have my car towed from a mcdonalds drive thru around 2:00am due to the parking lock error. Also there is an issue with the transmission that does not allow the car to catch. This i believe is the reason the car is able to slip gears in to reverse which is very dangerous. Initially i thought the issues with the car may have been a result of something i was doing. But after researching i saw that there are as many as 10 recalls for my car year and model. I was able to easily identify that my car had the exact problems listed.

Transmission noise when shifting from 3d to 4th -- clunk and also when downshifting from 3d to 2d...same clunk.zf transmission 6 speed in type s 4.2 liter jaguar 2004

Upon purchasing the vehicle from the dealer in used condition w/ roughly 50000 i immediately began to notice shifter problems, especially if the vehicle was parked on an incline or decline. Shifter will become stuck and will not come out of park without great force, which then breaks the plastic piece which is necessary to change out the gears, resulting in complete immobility of the vehicle since the car was then stuck in park. Car would have needed to be towed if not for being able to take off the console piece to change out the gears w/ a screwdriver in order to just get the car to the dealership. This was less than a month after purchase. Upon complaint the dealership replaced the plastic piece or housing and attempted to charge $400+ but was told that it would not be paid due to having the vehicle less than a month. Not surprisingly, less than one month after repair the exact same thing happened again and once again the screwdriver aided in getting the car to the dealership where they went through the exact same procedure and "fixed"the problem again, this time at no charge. I am confident this problem will happen again, as the shifter still sticks just like it did before it broke either time and i am just counting the days till i am forced to once again break out the screwdriver and waste another full day getting it replaced.

The contact owns a 2004 jaguar s-type. The contact was sitting idle in the vehicle with the brakes depressed when the vehicle abnormally accelerated. He then attempted to shift into neutral, park, and then drive as the vehicle accelerated backward. The vehicle would not longer move forward and was towed to the dealer where they advised that a bolt within a bracket that held the cable in place had fractured and would need replacing. The vehicle was repaired. There were no recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

I saw on the news today how a lady was entering a restaurant parking lot and her vehicle sudden lurched forward and caused her to crash into a fence.well if the car was a jaguar s type i'm sure the company would tell her what they told me.there is nothing wrong with the car.i had 2004 jaguar s type twice the car lurched forward when i was pulling into a parking spot.i had both feet on the brake and i was shifting through the gears to get the car to stop.in one incident the car stopped about 5ft. Into the spot in front of me.in the second incident i did the same thing and the car finally stopped when the car got hung up on the curb.i filled a report with jaguar in new jersey and they said my only recourse was to file an insurance claim????i brought the car to two dealers and was told they were told by jaguar not to touch the car because that would mean that jaguar was at fault.i had to trade in the car because every time i came to a stop, i didn't know if i was going to crash into the car in front of me.there are numerous reference to my incident on the web under jaguar lurch.jaguar should be made accountable and made to fix the problem which they say does not exist.thanks.
