Proposed solution to air bags problems with children.
While driving, airbag light comes on for no aparent reason, dealer has not been able to correct.tt
Vehicle involved in a head on collision but air bags did not deploy.
No deployment of driver's/passenger's airbags during a head-on collision, driver sustained injuries,
Passenger and driverside air bag failure. *la

While driving at approximately 30 mph driver hit building. Upon impact, dual airbags did not deploy, which could have caused injuries. No indictation of airbags being defective.
Im upset with vehicle and was forced to pay 400 dollars for an alternator caused by oil leak problem which was never fixed correctly in the first place.in december, 1998 while under warranty i had toth buick replace the head gaskets.within a few months it was leaking oil again so i took it back in for my usual oil change and told them.the mechanic told me that it probably wasn't leaking oil, it just uses about a quart of oil every 1,000 miles.he said he would do a consumption test and walked away.well when the truck was ready to go, i asked if they did a consumption test and the lady at the service desk told me to bring it back when it runs out of oil.i thought what is she nuts, yeah i' ll be back when the engine blows up.sure enough i was back in a month because the oil leak caused my alternator to short out.they agreed to fix the oil leak problem again since they never fixed it in the first place.this time i needed a valve gasket cover.however, they said i would have to pay for the ruined alternator.so i told them to.
An integrated circuit within the voltage regulator can contain manufacturing errors.this can cause excessive electrical charging of the vehicle's alternator, resulting in engine control malfunction or eventual engine stall.
Electronic control module which controls the engine and transmission function is defective, causingat ramdom, gears to shift from drive to any other gear without warning, on its own, which resulted in an accident.
Intermittently when first starting vehicle, the transmission warning light flashes and the vehicle will not move. The ignition has to be turned off and restarted. The transmisson control modulehas been replaced, problem still occurs.also, experienced complete loss of power while driving vehicle. The whole engine control module and the wiring harness has been replaced.
I contacted isuzu of america customer relations hotline and was "brushed off". My isuzu trooper was in excellent condition prior to the crash and the computer failure was brought to my attention by the isuzu mechanic.the vehicle has not been repaired yet, with the exception of the front suspension.i was told not to drive the vehicle because the pcm is malfunctioning and can cause the transmission to go out of control.in fact, i when in the "drive" mode on the selctor, the computer puts the transmission in "reverse". In order to drive my vehicle, the gear selector has to be in "neutral".there is no "park" gear.the computer went out without warning and told the transmission to go into "reverse" mode.the floor shifter lever did not move and remained in the "drive" mode before, during and after the crash.the "drive" mode is now "reverse".i was told by the isuzu mechanic that this is a common in troopers and rodeos with electronically controlled automatic transmissions and most people are unaware of this problem.i was also told that my ecm is in the "default mode" and sending error signals to my engine and transmission.the mechanic said this is what caused the transmission to randomly shift out of "drive" into "reverse" while travelling at 50-55 mph on the highway.i have information on similar crashes invilving the 1994-1998 isuzu troopers, rodeos, honda passports and acura slxs.some have resulted in injuries and deaths.how many must die before isuzu takes an interest in this problem.i found that there are many isuzu owners who have had to replace thier ecms at their own expense.there is nothing in the owners manual which warns consumers about the potential problems the ecm could cause, nor is there information on servicing.there is one technical service bulletin referencing automatic transmission failure of troopers and rodeos, but it doesnt provide much information about exactly whic component is affected.feel free to contact me.
Twice in 34,000 we have replaced the control module that controls electronic locks and alarm systems.
Accelerated from stop and throttle stuck.was able to shut down engine and get to side of road.inspected cable and found that rubber boot on engine side of cable housing had become gummy/sticky/soft and had folded in on itself, sticking to the inner cable itself.removed boot to get home.looked online for replacement, and found that there had been a recall for exact same problem on exact same model and year, but after calling isuzu, was told that my vin was not part of the recall, though it's the same part number.obviously the recall was incomplete, and there are still cars out there which, like mine, have the same faulty speed control components.had i not known to take the car out of gear and shut down the engine, there could have easily been a crash.my wife drives my 2 year old son in this car.i ask you to please look into this issue on behalf of public safety.

The engine will stall and not idle if the vehicle is operated for about 20 miles after a seemingly unrelated failure in the speedometer sensor. This can be a saftey hazard as it happened when i was exiting a freeway offramp and suddenly had no power steering or brakes.

The contact owns a 1995 isuzu trooper.the contact noticed that the front exhaust pipe had excessive corrosion and failed.he speculated that the component failed prematurely because he resides in a salt belt state.the dealer stated that the repair would cost $1,000.the vehicle has not yet been repaired.the failure and current mileages were 90,000.

1(a).after driving at highway speeds (above 60 mph) the abs warning light on the instrument panel nearly always comes on. This has ocurred hundreds of times.1(b).when driving in slippery snowy conditions, after applying the brakes the abs computer makes a loud buzzing noise that will not stop until the electrical connection to the 4 wheel drive abs component is severed by either removing the negative battery cable from the battery or removing the fuse.this has ocurred many times, but only three times has it caused a loss of control where people were at risk of harm.2.under the buzzing condition noted in 1(b) above, the abs braking system seems to fail, with less control because the brakes lock up, and steering becomes impossible.at least three incidents have happened where the vehicle ran into the curb with no apparant damage, greatfully no other vehicles or persons were involved.each incident 1(b) has happened on weekends or at night after the dealer who services the vehicle is closed.3.the dealer has found no problems, stating we must bring in the vehicle with the light on or the buzzing occurring in order to locate a problem.i belive there have been recalls on other isuzu models for the same problem, but not for the model or year of our vehicle.

Immediatly after purchasing the trooper in 1995 we noticed we had to stand on the brakes to stop when going down the driveway.after repeated trips and complaints to cochran pontiac in monroeville, we were told each time there was nothing wrong.they finally replaced the brake vacuum booster hose in 4/97 and again in 6/97.this helped minimally.we took the car to be inspected 6/99 and had to replace the entire brake system at only 34200 miles.we were told by the mechanics at this independent service station that the condition of the brakes were unsafe and the system did not appear to be enough for a car of this size.isuzu's indifference to our problem has prompted this complaint.
While driving, another vehicle was following too closely, turned wheel to avoid impact with vehicle #2, vehicle 2 rearended vehicle 1, vehicle 1 rolled completely over.

Owner states while driving vehicle it is hard to control, while making a right turn problem is most noticed.
When making a sharp turn, after trying to avoid hitting another vehicle, the vehicle rolled over on its side.
Vehicle pulled to the right, i steered to the left to correct. Vehicle crossed median out of control. I corrected again to the right and the vehicle rolled over three and one half turns.there was very little left right motion necessary to cause the vehicle to tip and roll.
Vehicle suspension system has been replaced on four occassions since purchase, including shocks on three occasions in 1997 and one occasion in 1998.coils have been replaced twice in 97.vehicle continues with susension problems which the dealer will not acknowledge and/or replace.vehicle has undergone two complete sets of tire changes, 4 batteries, and several other problmes since purchased.current mileage on vehicle-42,000 miles.

Isuzu motors safety recall no: 04v-199000.when the consumer contacted the local dealership, he was told there were no longer any authorized isuzu dealers.the consumer was told that isuzu motors had revoked their dealership authority shortly after the recall notice came out.
