I drive an isuzu rodeo which was just dianosed with a serious manufacturing malfunction.the housing which holds all the electrical connections is damaged and "could have sorted out the systems in my vehicle"and my vehicle would have stalled out.this damage is so serious, i could not drive my vehicle off the lot.my car is now down 7 -10 days while this repair is made.i was told by the dealership mechanic that this happens in 10% of the vehicles that are returned for repair.i am now out money for a rental and inconvenienced.i think this should be investigated and consumers should be warned of this dangerous and serious manufacturing error.

I have to add oil twice between my 4000 mile oil changes.i have been required to do this since the 30000 mile mark.the dealer(s) claim the engine is designed to 'use' up to 1 quart every thousand miles!!!sounds like a design flaw to me.
My car stalls in traffic due to a defectiveintake manifole gasket .i have been left stranded in traffic, unable to restart my vehicle. This is an unsafe condition entirely caused by a manufactoring defect. Isuzu is aware of this defect and has repaired many free of charge under a secret plan that is not knownto the public. I had my car dianoised at mike raisor isuzu imports(lafayette, indiana) and was informed that even though i owned this car from 2005 at 51000 miles isuzu will apply this service bullition repair.

Emissions equipment is required by federal law to be covered for five years or 50,000 miles.i've been told by the dealer that the emission tube/valve is 90% blocked, plus have been told by isuzu inc. This complaint concerns my 2002 isuzu rodeo vehicle.while traveling from dallas to beaumont, my check engine light came on.we stopped and the oil and water was fine but the light continued to burn. After checking the owner's manuel i learned that the light indicated that there was a problem with the emmission control. The mileage on this vehicle when i entered the dearlership was 23,815 miles and the car not only has izusu's warranty but an extended warranty for 7 years/100,000 miles. After jk chevrolet/isuzu service department checked out the problem i was told that the egr fuel system unit needed service and that there was carbon deposits and corrosion build up which restricted the flow of unburned fuel mixture to the exhaust gas recirculation vale (egr). I might also note that prior to this i was getting 13 miles per gallon on this vehicle.....the advertised average if 17 to 23 mpg.isuzu refused to cover this under warranty since they stated it was a "maintenance procedure".quite frankly, i have owned many different makes of cars and i have never had carbon build up in any of them, even one that has over a 100,000 miles on it.if this is starting at 23,800 miles then what does the future hole? i do not use cheap gasoline in my cars.i use the middle grade of chevron or shell gasoline.while taking with the service manager at jk i learned that had seen more and more of this type of problem with low mileage isuzu which to me would indicate that there is a design problem with this vehicle.at my expense the service department serviced the egr fuel system service units and removed carbon deposits and corrosion build up from the engine.the parts that were replaced #10196 fuel sys tune u $48.00, # 8-97104-317-2 gasket: egr vlv$7.60 and labor egr fuel system serv. Units 2 techs $144.35.

I own a 2002 isuzu rodeo. I am the only owner. Last year 2009, it suddenly started having a jerking movement whenever i stop and then accelerate. It got so bad that i took it to the dealer and they charged me $695.00 to fix what they said was a transmission seal leak. It ran ok for a while and then i stated noticing that i would be driving down the highway and then all of a sudden the gear would shift and on the dash indicator it would be showing that the gear is in park, reverse, neutral or something else other than drive. I would have to pull off the to the side of the road, switch the engine off and on a couple of times before the fault would correct itself. Today june 30, 2010, i was driving when dash indicator flipped to neutral and then the vehicle started slowing down. By the time i got to pull off the road the vehicle went completely dead and i had to get a tow truck to move it off the road. I am noticing that there have been a lot of complaints on this exact problem, but there has not been a recall. The tow truck driver says my transmission seems to be completely shot. I think it is time for the odi to issue a recall on these vehicles for this problem, so owners do not have to foot the bill for repairs on these vehicles. I will be contacting isuzu head quarters with a complaint, but i am sure that they will not accept responsibility as they have neglected toinform consumers of this problem so they can get vehicles checked before serious problems occur. Now i will be stuck with paying for repairs to replace the transmission when isuzu is clearly aware of the problem but has neglected to fix it.
Transmission began hard shifting and slipping.took it to dealer and dealer installed a new transmission servo coverand replaced 4 quarts of transmission fluid.dealer indicated that original servo cover had cracked andindicated verbally this was becoming common.problem was repaired under warranty but if this repair is becoming common and can result in complete transmission failure a warning should be issued to alert owners of this problem so the servo cover can be replaced before it's failure causes larger problems.
My 2002 rodeo that was purchased may 13, 2003 has just been towed to the dealership as the transmission has gone out at 32,600 miles.dealership called & said there would be a problem with the powertrain warranty as i was not the original owner of the vehicle. I told him - yes i am & that i bought the vehicle from them brand new. I had just had my 30,000 mile check up done on october 30, 2006. At 30,000 miles had to have the tires replaced. Previously have had vehicle in the shop for sensor problems & others that i cannot think of right now.
Vehicle's automatic transmission unpredictably and uncontrollably, on more than one occasion while driving on the highway at 60 mph, shifted out of "drive" and into "park" on the control panel indicator, while the stick shift was still engaged in "drive."this resulted in a very alarming jerking feeling and loss of forward velocity.the only way to stop this situation and return to normal was to brake, pull over into the highway's shoulder, put the gear shift into "park," turn off the vehicle's ignition, wait a few seconds, and then turn the vehicle back on.after this occurred two or three times, i became concerned that this could lead to a serious safety problem and potential accident so i took the vehicle to an isuzu dealer for repairs and they replaced the transmission mode switch and cleared the code for a total cost of $350.the service manager indicated that the same problem had been found with other isuzu rodeo vehicles and knew exactly what the problem was based on my initial description of the problem.if this problem is being found with other isusu rodeos built in 2002, there could be a more widespread safety problem that should be investigated.
I have less than 55,000 miles on my 2002 rodeo.a month ago when trying to accelerate, the gear shift from 1 to 2nd was almost impossible.the truck would shake and shudder and start to stall before kicking into gear - making my inability to operate very susceptible to accidents (luckily i had none).i took to a local mechanic who informed me that my transmission my be shot completely - i had leaked 4 qrts of fluid with no indication that i was low.when he ordered the part from the local dealer - he admitted to me that with other vehicles it is rare that these parts are available and need to be back ordered and that b/c they had on hand this must be a common problem.he sealed the leaks (there were several).however, this has not solved the problem the transmission is still leaking and i'm not sure is there would be any resolve with replacing the entire transmission.if this is a common problem with rodeo transmission and is a defective part then a recall is in order.
I have a 2002 isuzu rodeo ls with a six cylinder engine and a 2 wheel drive automatic transmission.the transmission is sealed and the owner's manual requires service at 120,000 miles.i have never driven the vehicle under extreme conditions, and i have never towed anything behind the vehicle.nonetheless, my transmission recently started to shudder and lurch when the vehicle initially accelerated from low to second gear.when this problem began, the vehicle had about 55,500.the problem grew progressively worse, and i took it for service at about 56,000.the dealership to which i took the car advised me that a part in the transmission had gone bad and that they had seen similar problems with similar vehicles and that isuzu had a replacement part to correct this problem.if it is indeed a defective part, i think a recall may be warranted for safety reasons.most notably, the problem caused my car to momentarily stop accelerating in low gear, and on one occasion, the delayed acceleration caused a close call because my car momentarily stalled in the middle of a left-hand turn.the other concern is that after shuddering and not accelerating, the vehicle would suddenly catch the gear and lurch forward, again, a safey concern due to the unexpected movement of the car.
2002 isuzu rodeo i have numerous problems with this isuzu.i purchased it new and i am the only driver. Vehicle wastes oil, motor heads been replaced, brakes changed several times. Transmission changed or repaired. Ignition replacedno warning lights about overheating or anything, egr changed. 2002 isuzu rodeo 2 wheel drive, transmission selector is in one gear and sometimes the dash indicator is in another gear.must stop and shut off engine for at least 5 seconds to reset this. This has happened several times over the last 3 years....(6).
Dt*:the contact stated the vehicle hesitated when shifting from park to drive.the vehicle jerks forward every time the gear is shifted into drive.upon inspection the independent repair shop determined there is a hole in the piston cover causing the transmission fluid to leak from the vehicle.the piston cover needs replaced.
The contact owns a 2002 isuzu rodeo.the gear indicator light on the instrument panel malfunctioned.while driving 15 mph and greater, the transmission jerked everytime the gears were shifted.the failure occurred during both acceleration and deceleration.the transmission change switch had a failed seal.the dealer replaced the transmission change switch.the failure mileage was 31,626 and current mileage was 32,126.updated 3/4/08 updated 03/04/08
At 70mph clutch will switch gears, and then lock up, causing vehicle to slow down .dealer notified.the clutch failed and has been replaced several times.
Component under vehicle along drive shaft became detached, and proceeded to make a groove in the drive shaft, and bend the front plate rendering the vehicle un drive able.

I have 110,000 miles on vehicle and was just told frame is rusting out. Not safe to drive this car has many miles left on engine, not happy about rusted frame i have heard about , also abs light goes off and on.
I pulled into a handicap parking spot in front of a supermarket, put it in park, set the emergency brake.got out out vehicle, locked the doors.started to walk away and a guy that was sitting at a table in front of store yelled there goes your car.i ran beside the car to try to open the door to no avail.the car crashed backwards into another vehicle.the police were called and was told by them to call insurance company and to leave if both vehicles were okay to drive.i feel the park gear failed and the emergency brake failed.this has happened before just in park a couple of months ago.

Complaints regarding 2002 isuzu rodeo.*mr (nar) the consumer had experienced ongoing problems with the abs system in the vehicle. The dealership was unable to identify the problem, and the consumer no longer wants the vehicle. She is requesting to have a full refund of the vehicle.

Driver side front brake pads sheared clear of the clips, jammed the rotor to where it could not be turned by hand, broke the seals on the caliper pistons releasing brake fluid.result was a driver side tire that was locked up almost to the point of skidding and no brakes.the vehicle traveled less than 2 miles from the time the problem was first noticed (a strange sound) to the point at which there were no brakes.also, no brake warning light was ever seen by the driver.topped off the brake reservoir, pumped the brakes about 6 times until reservoir was back down to "add" and still no brake warning light visible on the dash.
Brake rotors are wearing out, when applying brakes, vehicle will have heavy vibration and extended stopping distance. Dealer notified.the brakes were out of round and the rotors were resurfaced.*jg

When the consumer slowed the vehicle down, to turn, back up, or come to a stop, there was movement under the vehicle. The consumer stated when driving at highway speeds the vehicle vibrated severely which almost caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Daughter was driving call and steering suddenlyseemed "funny". Pulled over, had car towed and was told themounting bracket for the rear driver side sway bar rusted from the mainframe of the car andthe car cannot be driven. Researched on web andisuzu had a recall on this issue. Called honda and they suggested wetow the car over 110 miles to the nearest dealership. If at that time they inspected it and determine isuzu is at fault the may or may not offer any compensation. I feel it is unreasonable to require me to tow the car 110 miles. I examined receipts from the previous owner andisuzu issued a recall on this car.the car was inspected on 11/10/11and this was typed on the receipt:cau inspect found stage 1. Treat per recall. Complete operates as design.labeled a stage 1 fix.obviously, they did not fix the issue.since isuzu has recalled this car do i have any options? is there a class lawsuit against isuzu?
Contacted murphy isuzu 610-494-8800 regarding safety recall 10v-436. Service individual indicated that it could be a 1-2 months before isuzu is prepared to fix.

The contact owns a 2002 isuzu rodeo. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign id number: 10v436000 (suspension: rear). The contact stated that after the repairs, the frame and brackets were found to be corroded. The driver's side of the rear frame was severely corroded and exhibited holes, causing the vehicle to fail the state inspection. The manufacturer denied assistance with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 111,146 and the current mileage was 111, 6000.
"takata recall " my stabilizer bar under my car broke off while i was driving on the thruway i almost crashed into another vehicle and i ran off the road.
The contact owns a 2002 isuzu rodeo. The contact stated that the frame was rusted. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the rust was on the trailing arm of the rear suspension. Tehre were no repairs. The current mileage was 73,000.
A recall was issued on my 2002 isuzu rodeo for rust on the frame. I brought the car in and the one small area affected by the recall was fine, unfortunately, several other places on the frame were rusted through and isuzu doesn't want to hear about those so the dealer didn't address them. The car is unsafe to drive, i almost lost control several times driving it home from the recall appointment because they didn't fix the real problems with the frame.so now i'm stuck with a car that is unsafe to drive and a manufacturer who doesn't care and won't do anything about it.
The rear anti-sway bar on my 2002 isuzu rodeo has detached from theframe on one side causing the rear of the vehicle to sway dangerously from side to side. I had just brought the car in for the recall for frame corrosion and the dealership told me the area specified by the recall was fine and it was. They failed to tell me that the anti-sway bar was seriously corroded and becoming detached on one side. While i was driving home it did become detached and the vehicle fishtailed several times. I had just gotten off the interstate, i don't know what would have happened if i'd still been on the highway and traveling at highway speeds. I believe i would have lost control of the vehicle. The dealership informed me that the anti-sway bar and the section of the frame that it became detached from which is seriously corroded, are not part of the recall so they will not repair it. Numerous calls to isuzu have brought no call backs or response of any kind. The dealership sent me home in an unsafe vehicle and isuzu refuses to acknowledge the fact that the frame on my car rotted away years before it should have.

I own a 2002 isuzu rodeo.it only has 56,890 miles and should have plenty of life left in it.i took it into the local isuzu service center for the recent safey recall.they installed the bracket kit per the recall.however, while installing the brackets, they discovered huge holes in the frame and said it is not safe to drive.there is no way a frame on a vehicle should deteriote this bad in only 9 years.i have owned vehicles that were 25 years old and operated in this same location (winters with salt usage on the roads) and never had a frame rust like the one on this 2002 rodeo.the vehicle is now useless.i either have to scrap it or spend a fortune to replace the frame.isusu should be responsible for a remedy.had i not taken it in for the recall, i would not have known how bad of condition the frame was in.if it breaks while driving, someone could get seirously hurt or killled.if the bracket kit does not remedy the safety of the frame, isuzu should be responsible for doing what it takes to make it safe.if it means replacing the faulty frame or compensating the owner for the loss in vehicle value, they should be required to do so.
While driving my daughter to the local pool on july 4th weekend in my 2002 isuzu rodeo i noticed when i came to a stop that i felt movement in the rear of the car that i thought was coming from the rear end.continuing down the road all of a sudden i heard this scraping noise and started to slow down because the car seemed to be pulling me off the road. The scraping noise was the rear tire rubbing in the wheel well. Called my friend to have the car towed. Upon further inspection it was revealed that the controlarm for the rear end had broken off the frame. The bracket that the control arm bolts to had rusted off the frame.the frame is rusty all in that area.
The control arm on the left driver's side rear broke off from the frame while i was driving over a speed bump at approximately 3 m/p/h.this was on a macadam road and i knew the speed bump was there.i ended up getting the vehicle towed.i contacted my insurance company.eventually, after analysis, the insurance company told me the entire frame is rotted beyond repair.further, they stated that the incident could not have possibly caused all the frame damage.vehicle is a 2002 isuzu rodeo s.i am the original owner.vehicle is garage kept.97,000 miles on vehicle.no warning at all that this would occur.*tw
