I am extremely disappointed with isuzu for building and then selling this obvious lemon as a vehicle to the public.how can people feel confident about spending that much money on a vehicle when it is going to fall apart in that short of time.i really think that so much going wrong in one vehicle that there is a manufacturing problem and that the company needs to do something about and the dealer should have never put it back out on the lot to be sold again.yes it was bought used but everyone of the car dealers we tried to trade it off to already new about the past history of the car, so was the consumer not informed because they just sell cars and don't care about the consumer.

My egr valve on my 96 isuzu rodeo keeps going out. My 1996 isuzu rodeo ls suffered approximately 30 drips per minute leak on top of my v6 engine, posing a potential explosion hazard. The leak was not found for over two months because the odor was only present while the truck was running.fuel was burning off the engine and possibly ignited twice when my wife noticed smoke and a strong unidentifyable odor.it was not until may 2 that i started the truck on my driveway, then popped the hood then i saw the fuel leaking onto the engine.the truck had been placed in the shop to repair oil leaks just the previous week, so the repair was thought to be complete. The fuel leak was attributed to a failed fuel pressure regulator whose housing ruptured causing the fuel leak.the part is available.rosenthal isuzu ordered a new fuel pressure regulator and replaced the defective one.

Continuous problems with brake pads/rotors causing brakes to squeal.
These rotors rust and flake horribly and cause failure of the brakes. My service person told me upon inspection of the vehicle that it wasnot safe to drive.these rotors have failed every 2 yrs/ 20k miles.i have never replaced rotors on a vehicle, let alone that often.these rotors need to be recalled they are defective.i have been told by my service person atcochran and by another mechanic which sevices my other dar that rodeo rotors have always had trouble.why arent they on a recall list?this costs me 6-800.00 dollars at each failure!!i am grateful it didnt cost my life.there areno squeelers to warn / in 10 miles from work, my brakes statred to grind then got worse and louder and the peddle got softer and the vehicle became difficult to stop even driving slow and downshifting.dangerous/ vehicle was just inspected by dealer 3mnths/3k miles earlier in july/no brake trouble then/failure 3mnths/3k miles later.
At low speed intermittent loss of abs brakes and power assist.

Drivingat speed 62mph, steering control is very loose, causing loss of control, hit a concrete median, vehicle rolled.
The frame of my 1996 isuzu rodeo is completely rusted out. When searching online, i found that this is a very large issue that isuzu is having. There are several other testimonials stating that their isuzu rodeo's frame is rusted away, and they have less then 100,000 miles on it. My rodeo has 110,000 miles, but has probably been rusted out some time ago. There is absolutely no reason that a frame to any manufactured vehicle should be rusted out around 100,000 miles. Many, many other components to the car should be going bad well before the frame rots out. There are hundreds of thousands of other cars in the world that are literally decades older, and do not show nearly as much frame rust. Isuzu used very low quality, non-resistant metal to make the frame, and it has already injured/killed many people. Isuzu recognized there problem, and made a recall on the rodeo's for years 1998-2002. The same material was used in all rodeo's several years before 1998, however, they limited there recall to only 5 years to cut down exposure and costs of repair. That is absolutely ridiculous! there are 1996 and 1997 rodeo's rotting out around 80,000 miles. What? why? that is absolutely criminal! this recall should include all rodeo's that experience this same problem, which is pretty much all of them. Not just years 1998-2002. My frame has large holes in it, and can be broken by hand. This should not be happening for easily another decade. Can something please be done about this, before more people get hurt.

Effective part: the 2 main frames are rust out and could break at anytime.we believe one of the reasons why the frames are deteriorating is from salt during the winter. Do to the company bad framing.
Hi,i own an isuzu rodeo s v6 (year 1996) and after having some problems with the fuel pump my mechanic alerted me about an advanced rusting deterioration on the structural frame of the car. Not only the body of the car is rusted but the fuel line pipes as well. The break fluid pipe broke two years ago due to rusting but fortunately i was able to stop the car by reducing gears.the rest of the car is in great condition (mechanically, electrically, etc) and it is a shame that in vital parts of the car isuzu used cheap/non-resistant material.
Power door locks failed.
Lugs: nuts stripped the metal in male form.air gun striped the metal parts whenmechanic was removing the wheels.also, electrical door locks are not going all the way down.dealership was notified, and the response was that they were not aware of this problem.

The contact owns a 1996 isuzu rodeo. The frame was corroded and covered with rust. After a routine maintenance check the contact noticed that the frame underneath the vehicle was corroded and covered with rust. The dealer was contacted and informed him that there was a recall but his year, make and modelvehicle was not included. The manufacturer confirmed that his year, make and model vehicle was not included in the recall. No further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 189,000.
I was traveling southbound on interstate 75 in kentucky in a mountainous area.i was driving in the left hand lane and i heard an explosion and lost control of my vehicle.my vehicle crossed the right hand lane, reversed directions, and side swiped the rock wall between the interstate lanes. (tiresize: p245-70r16)( dot number: tire size: p245-70r16 )
Dealership service department has failed to fix the problem. Check engine light has continued to come on and stays on the life of the vehicle since i have had it.

The floor mat buckledunder the accelerator pedal which caused the vehicle to accelerate, hitting a lamp pole. The vehicle was repaired.
From a cmplete stop while accelerating vehicle has had sudden acceleration andlost control.
Cruise control does not disengage when the clutch is activated as stated in the manual, it revs up the engine.
I pressed on the gas pedal and the throttle cable didn't return to idle when i let off the pedal. The brakes would not stop the vehicle nor would pressing on gas pedal. Turning off the ignition is the only way to stop acceleration.i drove out of control through two peoples yards before coming to this conclusion.
Odometer and cruise control do not operate also engine complete stall.
Dt: the contact stated while traveling on the highway the rpms revved as high as the gauge would allow.the vehicle accelerated and the brakes would not stop the vehicle. Was finally able to get the vehicle to slow down by depressing the brake pedal very hard. The contact drove the vehicle home, checked the engine ,and discovered the rubber boot in the throttle body was melted. The boot was removed by the contact and this remedied the problem. Updated 3/9/2006-

I have the same problems that were listed in complaints by others, #'s 859650,531879,817894,801727. No safety defect listed in summary.
All 4 power window mechanisms have failed, front & rear driver & passenger windows.. Plastic used in track assembly breaks under use.
First when trying to pull up the window it makes a grinding/crunching sound.also, when going over a bump window will just fall down, plastic that is connected to the cable, keeps wearing out.
Front windshield cracked twice.
When removing the lug nuts with an impact gun the studs break even when the lugs are torqued to the proper specs.
While having tires rotated, the lugs: nuts broke. Hubs also had to be replaced. Manufacturer and dealer deny this is a problem with other isuzu rodeos, and say the warranty will not pay for the repairs. Therefore they're trying to sock me with the $650 dollar bill. As i can tell byyour reports this is a common problem with this type of vehicle, and this should be listed as a defect and the warranty should pay.
No summary listed for above vehicle.
When remove the tire to replace, the wheel stud broke off.this is number 4 in less than 1 year
Lug nuts snap off everytime tires are removed for rotation.this is not the mechanics fault.it is a defect and isuzu should be paying for the replacements.i'm getting soaked everytime i take my car in for rotation of my tires, which should be free because i purchased the tires at the establishment.instead, i am getting charged $80-$100 everytime because the lug nuts break off and have to be replaced!based on what i see on this website, this is a known problem and isuzu should be footing the bill for this.dt
16 studs broken when removing tires; had to replace hub; dealer is avoiding the issue.
Lugs: nuts stripped the metal in male form.air gun striped the metal parts whenmechanic was removing the wheels.also, electrical door locks are not going all the way down.dealership was notified, and the response was that they were not aware of this problem.
Swelled lub nuts.
Lug nuts stripped on the wheel.
16 studs broken when removing tires; had to replace hub; dealer is avoiding the issue.
For the 2nd time the lugs & studs on the isuzu rodeo have either broken/cracked or stripped when a tire roation is being preformed. Both times service representative manuelly tried to remove the lugs . And afterwards tried to tighten the lugs. As a result i have had to replace the entire rear axle - since the studs are built from the inner side outward. Now with several lugs stripped again, i fear i will have to replace the axle again.
The vehicle tire stud is too weakto come off and it desolved.the dealership is aware of the problem. Nlm
Lug nuts and wheel studs failed. Yh
Studs are weak and have broken, looosened over entire vehicle's life.

Failed tire studs and lug mounts.
The wheel studs on all four wheels break or strip while changing the tires. The studs fail even when being removed by hand.
Tire lugs:nuts continue to loosen and strip.
Lug nuts and wheel studs failed. Yh
Wheel lug nuts and studs continually break when rotating tires.
Stud and lugs are made of soft metal, that wears and sieze up when trying to remove them.replacement are made with the same metal at a cost of 8 per lug and lobor.heat is causing this problem along with friction.
Failure of the tire studs and lug mounts.
Iflugs: nuts are taken off by an air gun, it breaks the studs. This has happened on two other occasions in august 1997 and september 1997.manufacturer has been notifed about the problem. Manufacturer blames the mechanic for this problem.
Took vehicle in for a routine check, and mechanic noticed two front wheel lugs: nuts were stripped, mechanic had to break the nuts to get them off. Consumer felt this could be a safety issue because 3 out of 5 oflug: nuts were stripped, could just spend nuts around, and wheel was not secure.
