Check engine light stays on and truck cuts off frequently. I have had the plugs and wires changed, numerous oil changes, gas treatments. I took it to a mechanic several times. I even went on line to check information and was told that the fuel tank has gone bad and that one coming from the manufacture would cost $1500.00! i just bought this truck inmay 2004. I haven't been able to drive the truck for almost 2 weeks, and i still over 2 1/2 years on it. Why aren't there recalls on this fuel tank/gas/emissions system ???i don't have $1500.00 dollars , plus continue to make payments on it too.
Consumer states on going problem with engine stalling , hesitation, and vibrating while driving or running, vehicle hasbeen to the dealer on three occasion and the problem reoccurring. The stalling engine problem was finally solved by replacing the egr valve.
My mother and stepfather gave me their 2000 isuzu rodeo this summer.about 6 or 7 months prior to them giving me the vehicle its check engine light came on.once the vehicle would get to atank of gas the fuel gauge would start to wave back and forth fromfull to empty with the gas light flashing.the vehicle also begins to sputter and lose power sporadically. I've researched this and found it seems to be a very common problem/trait on a 2000-2001 isuzu rodeo.it appears to be a faulty fuel sending unit which is mounted inside the gas tank with the fuel pump.i think loss of a cars power can be a serious safety risk as the car can begin to stall while pulling out into heavy traffic.the fuel gauge is also a safety risk when it starts to fluctuate it is impossible to know how much gas remains.this could result in running out of gas on a major highway or any other heavily traveled road.i find it shocking that this is such a common problem which has never been recalled and poses a huge safety risk for the owners as well as other drivers on the road.not to mention i was told the part is several hundred dollars with another few hundred dollars in labor to repair the problem.
I was driving along one day and the check engine light came on in my 2000 isuzu rodeo.i started to get bad gas milege.i took it to the isuzu dealer and they replaced the gas filter because it was still under warranty.about two days later the same thing happened.they then told me it was my fuel pump or sensor acutally and that isuzu would not replace it was not a warranty part and that i would have to drop the $300 and some to pay for it.everything else was under warrantly except that.

The fuel gauge will drop down to empty and the check engine light is constantly on.i took it to the dealer and paid and estimate fee of $80 only to have them tell me to buy a new gas cap which i did and the same problem.i can see from this page that other's experience the same problem and feel that this should be repair by isuzu at no cost to me.i had to take it to a shop which replaced the gas tank sensor for $400.00 which i think isuzu should reimburse.
Transmission accummulator valve leaking. Could cause fire because transmission fluid is spraying on exhaust. Can't find parts to fix. Need snapring and cover. Looked on three different websites and there is about 2,500reports on this problem. I was told should be a recall item. The years of problem range from 1997-2003.
Transmission mode switch has failed 4 times in one month and there is no identifiable cause by balboa isuzu.this is such a common occurrence right now that all the dealerships are holding onto their parts closely and will not sell to another dealership.this is ridiculous! even the factory can't figure it out.causes the teansmission to downshift and is extremely unsafe.
