The gas gauge does not read the correct amount of fuel in the gas tank.i fill up and the gas light will come on after a few miles and will stay on or will start flashing.this is a problem that can be vary hazardous especially for a woman on the road thinking that she has a full tank of gas and the gas gauge is going insane.something needs to be done about this problem.it seems as if there are several and mean several others with the same problem.a recall should be sent out!!!!
On 2-2-05 i was invloved in a crash that was caused by a malfunction within a vehicle that i was driving. It was a 1999 isuzu rodeo. I had come to a stop, pulling into a parking space between two vehicles at a walgreens store in enid, oklahoma when suddenly the engine surged, the whole time i was fighting the acceleration with the brakes but they just made a noise similar to when you lock abs breaks on ice. The vehicle struck a brick pillar that collapsed on top on the vehicle almost killing me and injuring my lower/middle back in the process.the tires continued to spin even after i exited the vehicle, i have photos for proof. I am filing a lawsuit against isuzu motors of america for faulty products that resulted in the crash that almost took my life and injured my back. If you have any information please let me know. I'm twenty three years old and was not physically impaired at the time the wreck occured. This problem should be looked at and corrected before this happens to someone else.i have witnesses that can attest to what happened. Thank you for your time.

Defective fuel sending unit on a 1999 isuzu rodeo.happened just after warranty expired at 60,000 mile.the suv has 80,000 mile and continuing to have the same problem.this is a very common problem and isuzu will not fix it.it is a manufacturing defect and should be addressed by the manufacturer.the repair cost is approximately $500.00.
After confurring with many owners of a 1999 isuzu rodeo it is my consensus that there is a manufacturer malfunction with the fuel sending unit. Fuel sending unit is not working properly and causes the gas guage to read empty. Contacting isuzu has done consumers no good since isuzu denies any problem. However it is my understanding from a particular isuzu mechanic that he repairs 3-4 sending units per day. I do not feel it is a consumers responsibility to pay an enormous service cost to fix a problem that we believe the manufacturers know about and have chosen not to recall.
Fuel gauge does not work, goes up and down.daughter drives the car, putting her at riskof running out of fuel on highway while alone.

The contact owns a 1999 isuzu rodeo sport. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle surged forward and the brakes engaged independently. The contact mentioned that there was a sudden increase of engine rpms and the brake light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the computer algorithm for the abs needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 02i002000 (service brakes). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The vin was not available.

The frame rusted and the arm that holds the rear right tire broke car could not be driven towing co told me could not be fixed, just junk it.

**i have never been awarded any financial compensation for my vehicle on safety recall 10v-436, upon surrendering my vehicle for evaluation on 1-4-2010, after it was deemed unrepairable on 2-10-2010.**i recd. Recall notice around 12-10-09, re: isuzu safety recall 10v-436.i took my rodeo to j. Shorkey isuzu 1-4-10 for evaluation. After many phone calls back and forth with the dealership, i recd. A phone call from terry @ isuzu (800-255-6727) 2-10-2010, stating my vehicle was unrepairable and isuzu is offering me $3,950.i was so caught off guard by that, i told him that $3,950 was completely unacceptable as a settlement for my vehicle being in pristine shape it was in and that i would get back to him with an acceptable offer i would accept. Btw, i purchased this vehicle brand new, therefore i am an a title owner.i followed up with him over the next few weeks giving him background information on my vehicle, etc.i figured i would hold out to receive a more acceptable financial offer.however, as of 12-6-14, i have yet to receive any financial settlement from isuzu for my rodeo.which has been sitting at j. Shorkey isuzu, in north huntingdon, pa since 1-4-2010.i am now prepared to file as many official complaints as necessary in order to get this claim settled, after all this time.i filed an official consumer complaint with the california office of attorney general in 2010, for which they declined to assist me at the time since i referenced the nhtsa being involved with this recall.
