The computer system of the vehicle is broken down. The speedometer jumps from 0 mph to 120mph and never shows the correct speed. Airbag sign flickers and turns on and off at times. The gear stick jams on one mode and car starts stalling. Dealership doesn't want to accept it as a lemon car that is eating away our money. And wants thousands of dollars to fix the problem.
Had check engine light come on and had checked out. Code brought up said gas cap problem. Replaced gas cap and went away for a week. Had problem come back and asked mechanic and said it was a common problem on these vehicles. Mechanic also said it could be connection to fuel tank from gas fill tube. Had checked out and was ok. Put on new gas cap again and went away for another week and came back. Done with it. Tired of putting money into a problem that won't go away.
Vehicle headlights work very erratically both when vehicle is parked or in motion. Low-beam lights will go off on a moment's notice and only high-beam lights will work. More recently, even the high-bean lights have been acting up and turning off. Headlights sockets were replaced at some point but problem persists. This condition is extremely dangerous, especially when driving at night and all the headlights go out.

Instrument panel began working intermittently. Took in for check.dealer repaired.left dealer and instrument panel failed again within 15 minutes.returned to dealer and had to wait for (8) days for replacement dash module.car was unsafe and undrivable as no information (speed, gear location, etc.) was available to driver.this vehicle is a gm product and is the same as trailblazer, envoy, etc.i have been told by envoy owners that they have experienced the same problem, trailblazers also.dealer service rep stated to me that gm knows there is a problem with the instrument modules. This complaint form does not allow for the identification of the manufacturer of this vehicle.it is manufactured by general motors.i had to select isuzu manufacturing due to your error in programming drop downs correctly.isuzu has no manufacturing facilities in north america.please update your information.if this vehicle is not classified as a gm product it will reduce the failure incidence of the gm instrument panels.

While driving my cars brakelight came on and the car started to accelerate faster and faster. Pullled over as soon as i could and stopped the car and turned the engine off. There has been ungoing electrical issues since buying this vehicle new.the headlights have stopped working and there is an intermittent problem with the lights and the internal chime. Sometimes the lights don't come on or the chimes can not be heard and then it is working properly again. The engine in the vehicle ihad to be orepalced just before it went to 60000 miles so, it has an 2005 engine. This engine has a hard revv when shifting gears. There are gas fumes coming into the cabin. The vehicle has been taken to the mechanic several times and they have not been able to find the leak. I don't live in the salt belt area. I live in northern fl and this is not the only place that the vehicle has been, but it has not beenwhere there are salted roads like the nort east and midatlantic. Request your assistance.

I have owned this car for three years and in that time heres the issues, rpm, oil, tempature, speedomter gauges have quit. The car virbrates extememly hard when sitting still. If the ac is on, its virbrating harder, the front vents have quit working and only the defrosters and rear vents work. The car likes to die at red lights. I see the oil and tempature gauge as a safety issue. There will be no warning if the car is too hot and the oil pressure is to high.the engine light stays on no matter what we fix. It says the car had a cylinder one missfire. Can be caused by a bad spark plug, a bad coil or vacuum leak. Replaced the first two and had it inspected by a mechanic for the second. Nothing. The cold to hot setting on the heat, only one side of the light works, but if i slide the knob up and down fast, the light comes on. Sign of a short.
While driving one night, my left headlight went out, first the dim, then the bright. My wife and i both smelled a smell like rubber burning, so i stopped the car and checked under the hood to detect the origin of the smell, but to no avail. Not much later that same night, my right headlight also burned out. Luckily, we were only 1 mile from our house and limped home. When i checked under the hood the next day, i found that the electrical connections to both headlights had burned and melted the wires at the point where they attach to the back of the headlight assembly.has this been a common problem for other ascender owners?

Cluster panel does not work. The low beam lights have stopped working regularly whetherstationary or driving.. They work intermittently causing the use of high beams. It has become a night time driving safety issue. Car will turn off in the middle of driving causing my daughter to have to pull over for safety.
Just to let you know. Gmc envoy, chevrolet trailblazer, buick rainier, oldsmobile bravada, saab 9-7x, isuzu ascenderthey are all exactly the same vehicle that has just been rebadged.i personally drive a 2004 isuzu ascender, and i can't get gm , chevy, or isuzu to fix it without charging me $475. My tachometer always reads wrong.my speedometer sometimes reads wrong and my gas gauge does not give me the correct reading.this can be real dangerous. The speedometer issue is more wide spread than you guys think.

Instrument cluster failure - all gauges have failed including the speedometer.
Tachometer needle went straight down and gave incorrect readings, then a few weeks later the speedometer did the same thing then a week later the oil pressure gauge began to give incorrect readings. My mechanic says he has already had one 2004 gm vehicle in for the same thing.

I own a 2004 isuzu ascender and several months ago the instrument panel began working erratically, and now, not at all.specifically the tachometer andspeedometer are non-functioning, and the voltmeter and oil pressure gauge give false readings.i have contacted the dealer and am told there is no recall and the warranty is now up.i have contacted isuzu of america and told there is no recall and will have to take the vehicle to the dealership.because this involves the speedometer, i feel this is a safety issue.additionally a co-worker owns a 2004 gmc envoy which is a sister vehicle, and she is also having the same problems.

The contact owns a 2004 isuzu ascender. The contact stated that the speedometer moved back and forth and does not show the correct speed. The speedometer will read over 100 mph and then become stuck. The vehicle had to be turned on and off in order to get the speedometer to read correctly. The dealer stated that there was a problem with the computer, but the contact was convinced that it was an electrical problem. The contact stated that when the fan was set below level five, the instrument panel began to function. When the failure occurred all of the warning lights began to flash on the instrument panel until the fan was placed on level 5. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 92,000.updated 03/14/11
The speedometer in my 2004 isuzu ascender which is a gm product is giving false readings and shows higher and/or slower speeds than the correct speed.i am aware that this is a nationwide complaint among other gm product owners.the dealerships are refusing to fix it, citing "out of warranty" excuses and saying that it is not a safety issue.it is in fact, a safety issue and should be fixed at no cost to the consumer.
Speedometer showing different speed than actual. Car will show it is going 50 mph and will be actually going 60mph. Car will show going 45mph and will be going around 56mph. Took to mechanic and he said was probably stepper motor. Estimated cost to fix is $365.00. 2nd problem i've had with dash!!

Dt: went to start the vehicle and it wouldn't start because light in dashboard would say unknown driver,.according to the dealer the first timeit was the wiring. The low beams on my headlights will go out without warning while driving at night. My daytime running lights also will turn off without warning and turn back on but this is not as much of a safety issue as when it happens during nighttime driving. Sometimes my headlights will not work from the moment i start my car but most of the time they shut off during driving. I can switch the headlights to high beams and they typically work fine. Only once have i had both high and low beams out at the same time. When that happened i parked my car and let it sit. When i started my car after about 30 min to an hour both high and low beams were working again.my headlights will go out while i'm driving in the city, in the countryside, on the highway or on residential streets, after driving for a while or even when i first start my vehicle after it had been sitting for several hours. The reason for my headlights spontaneously going out is unknown. The part that causing the problem is unknown. It does, however, seem to be very similar to issues that has caused gm to do a recall on other gm vehicles which includes 2006-2009 (?) isuzu ascenders but does not include my 2004 isuzu ascender. The first time that i experienced this was back in january 2017. The last time that i experienced this was last night, may 4, 2017.

While my wife was driving the vehicle both lowbeam headlights just went out.she was forced to drive with highbeams to get home.after replacing both lights and checking all fuses i am at a loss of what the problem is.we cannot drive this vehicle at night due to safety concerns.

A service bulletin was released but no recall. I bought this car brand new, it will cost me $2178.33 +tax to have it repaired.after doing some research i have found other owners with the same problem. I think that something should b done about this.i contacted an authorized dealer and my car is not in the recall models. I think that this a manufacture' problem and it should be taken care of beofre something serious happens
Fuel tank leaks spilling fuel at all times.have been told by mechanic that the fuel filler neck was ultrasonically welded to the fuel tank and that the seam did not hold.he reported seeing this on several vehicles, different make, same body style.
Strong gasoline odor inside and outside of vehicle.
My 2004 isuzu ascender required the fuel tank be replaced as there was a cracked weld on the fuel neck. Isuzu did have a service bulletin on this year model, but yet i was told my vehicle did not qualify or met the criteria.
Fuel leak from gas tank, filler neck meets plastic inlet to tank. Plastic inlet from fuel tank leaks fuel and does not holding pressure causing mls p0442,p0455. Cannot fill tank to capacity, tank will leak on incline or on acceleration.

There are gas fumes in the car as well. I contacted the manufacturer who states that there are bulletins for this problem for the 2003 and 2004 ascenders however my vehicle will not be covered.
#1 back window pops open while driving#2 speed gage stops at times, fuel gage stopped working completely.
My transmission has had to be fix 3 times 2 of those time me and my 5 children where driving on the freeway and my car stopped picking up speed and we had to pull to the side of the rode. My back vents for my a/c do not work, the back door opens all the time one time it opened and all our groceries fell outandwhen i try to pump gas into my car it would take foreverthe pump would stop like it was full but now it just spills out and my car smells like gas so bad on the inside i can't even drive it anymore. It's one thing after another and i have only had this car for 2 years and it's one thing after another.
Recall has been issued on faulty gas tank. Had car inspected by isuzu facility 2/4/16 and new part(s) ordered.cannot get any information as to when part will be in and my car repaired. In the meantime, driving with faulty, gas-leaking, probably dangerous car. Gm apparently not communicating with isuzu and parts not getting produced.
Fuel tankhas leaking seals, which is causing fuel to leak and the smell of fuel into cabin area of vehicle and vehicle rejected during state inspection.part not available until after may.took it to repair facility, was told it was unsafe to drive then was told to come pick up the vehicle.isuzu unwilling to offer any assistance
Continuous gas smell in and around automobile when starting the engine.engine light came on in jan 2013 although the smell has been present for many years.took auto to repair shop and discovered that their was a sizeable crack at the opening of the gas tank.around 1,500 dollars later a new gas tank, new fuel pump assembly, i find it hard to believe there is no recall on this part from gm, especially since searching the internet and discovering how many have reported this same exact issue and the scary thought that the car could have blown up and any time.a class action suit needs to be filed against gm.
My car has smelled of gas and i have been told there is a fracture in my fuel tank inlet check valve.this has been a problem with the 7 passenger ascender but they are doing nothing with the 5 passenger ascender though it is the exact same part that is faulty.i have contacted isuzu and am taking into their service center but i want this complaint on record in case something should happen such as my car exploding. The fumes inside the car are so noxious they are making me sick and i have to drive with the windows down.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

The safety belts on the vehicle for the driver and front passenger do not work properly.when you put the seat belts on they ride on the next of the person wearing them.they also do not fit properly across the chest of the person wearing them. They can not be adjusted to accommodate people who are taller or shorter.when i put the seat belt on it applies pressure to my neck it can not be adjusted to ride over my hips instead of my stomach.
Concerns regarding vehicle seatbelts.*mr the design of the vehicle's seat belts are inadequate for short or small people.the shoulder belt cuts across the neck instead of the shoulder which is a concern for the consumer.*mr
I have a concern on my new 2004 isuzu ascesder seat belts.my wife is 5'4" tall, and the seat belt both driver and passagers slides up around her neck and right underarm.can not keep the seat belts is place.no adjustment for seat belts for height.it is attached to the back of the seats.the concern is if we had to make a hard stop, then the seat belt would cause injury for sure.presently she holds the seat belt away from her neck when driving the suv, and it is her car.something needs to be done about this problem before someone gets hurt.please let us know what to do.incident date i note as today, but problem was noted just after we purchased the suv.

I own a 2004 isuzu ascender.there has been a host of problems that i have had to deal with in the minimal 10 months that i have owned the vehicle. Two of the problems have yet to receive any type of fix from the local isuzu service center.the first problem was the belt screaming every day.i took the vehicle in three times for the belt and they finally fixed it.the second problem is all four door windows.debris consistently makes its way into the door and any time i roll down or roll up my windows my windows get severly scratched.i addressed this issue with the service center and they said there is nothing they can do about it and that it is not a product malfunction.i have never had a vehicle do this and nor do i know anyone that has had a similar issue.lastly and most importantly, my family and i were on a routine drive back from new hampshire.the conditions were clear and the roads were of typical new england repair.a vehicle pulled out in front of ours and in reaction i applied heavy, not excessive, pressure to the break pedal.the petal started to click, most likely the abs, but nothing kicked in to stop my vehicle.when i say nothing, it was like i never stepped on the break at all.i had to swerve in to the other lane of traffic to avoid a collision. The next day i took the vehicle in to be looked at and the service department sent myself and a mechanic out on a road testin hopes to duplicate the malfunction.i did not have any real luck with duplicating the malfunction but i know it exists.it has happened to my wife three times and myself once.the service department said there is nothing they can do right now and to wait for a gm certified mechanic to have the opportunity to look at my vehicle.the breaks have gone unchecked since the latest incident and my confidence in the safety of the vehicle wavers more and more every day.
