Occupancy sensor does not notify passenger airbag when adult of 180lbs is sitting in seat while vehicle engine is turned on, while vehicle is driving at 65 mph, or idle.
When driving at low speed, on a curve, or on a hill the car will not accelerate, will stall, shudder, rattle. Will not respond to efforts of increasing speed.the front passenger airbag light will show the airbag is not engaged even if an adult is seated in the front passenger seat.
Problem 1: approximately 4 weeks after purchasing the car, we noticed that the passenger side air bag would deactivate during operation while an adult was in the seat.car was taken to infiniti dealer and software was updated according to the airbag recall.however the issue continues to remain and the passenger airbag still randomly deactivates while an adult is in the seat.infiniti has been informed multiple times but states that the issue cannot be replicated and as such has not done anything to fix it.infiniti has stated that the seat belts continue to work and is the first line defense in an accident!problem 2:approximately 2 weeks after purchasing the car, we experienced transmission judder at low speeds (5-10mph) and going around corners.infiniti updated the transmission software but the issue has not been fully solved.the transmission still has some juddering.infiniti has been informed multiple times but states that the issue cannot be replicated and as such has not done anything to fix it.
In the first couple of weeks of owning the infiniti qx60 we noticed that the passenger air bag off light stays on from 10 minutes to an hour with an adult sitting in the seat. I called the dealers service department for an appointment and since there "wasn't a big concern" gave me an appointment a week later. We took the car to the dealer and informed them of the situation.they said that they found nothing wrong withit. "all air bags worked as designed". Performed a hard reset on passenger oc sensor.we got half way home and after shopping, the light stayed on again with a passenger seated.i called the dealer and they said that all was fine and not a danger.
I leased the qx60 on march 19th and right away i noticed that the air bag light would go on when my sons (100 and 110 pounds) would sit in the front seat.now i am being told that the car may be under the recall but that they will not be able to take it in for diagnostics until mid april.until then i cannot drive with anyone in the front passenger seat for fear that, in case of an accident, the airbags would not deploy.i am incredibly upset!
Purchased car 11/2013 new from dealership.within three months, front passenger side air bag light began coming on even though a passenger was in the seat.this has occurred on & off ever since.there has been no pattern distinguishable -- no correlation between weight of person,in car when/when not started, nor how long light has stayed on or if it did go off after >3min.we have been to the dealership numerous times, four officially on the service history, and at least two other times as a "drive thru" to confirm that indeed my family would be safe if in an accident (verbal reassurance given by service manager for each of those "drive-thru" times).service manager said system is working properly prior to initial ocs reprogram completed 6/5/14 (recall number 14v138000).light remained on while pulling out of dealership on 6/5/14 and they reprogramed it again before leaving.due to the fact that the dealership is over 30 miles away, as well as their insistence that the system is "working properly", i have not taken it is many times when the light has been on.if taken in each time, this would be probably every ten days - two weeks.if the light has not gone off, i have made that person get into the back seat.over 90% of the time, these have been family members, weighing between 90#-200# and all over 5' tall.additional service history times for this issue are:8/20/14, 8/25/14, 3/24/15.service manager frequently unable to duplicate concerns, insists system is functioning appropriately.when asked if he would consider placing his loved one in this seat with the light on, trusting the function will protect those in a highway accident, he stated, "i understand your concerns."

When accelerating from a full stop into a right or a left turn, the rpms go up but the vehicle does not accelerate. This happened approximately 3-4 times before my first 5000 miles.i was told it was part of the engine break-in process.when i brought my vehicle in for its 10k service, i again complained of this happening, but they can't replicate the results.it has happened 2x since my last service, once within 24 hrs of the service and the other at approximately 14910 miles.i am afraid to drive the car as i'm afraid to get rear ended.i have found at least 3 other reported incidences of this by others online and the dealers don't seem to be doing anything to rectify the issue.i am also having the same issues as others regarding the air bag light going on and off at random.

Since we have purchased our car brand new in 2014 we have had ongoing problems with the passenger side airbag. Randomly, even though there is a person sitting in the passenger seat, the air bag indicator is lit "off" as if noone is sitting in the car seat. We have recorded videos of multiple events and have brought it to the dealer. Each time the dealership runs a scan it tells them that the car is operating normally. I have even dealt with infiniti directly and they are not able to come up with a fix and keep telling us to be patient because they are working on resolving this problem. We have had the car now for almost 1 1/2 years and still no good fix by infiniti. This is completely unacceptable and we feel it is a major safety issue since an airbag would not go off during an accident even though there is a passenger in the passenger seat.

Passenger air bag light goes on and off occasionally. My daughter is 115 pounds and we had multiple cars and her wait was never an issue. We took vehicle to infinity and they replaced sensor but after a week same problem took car back no resolution yet. I know they had recall for the same problem on jx 35.

I have been having issues with my infiniti qx60 since i purchased it 09/2014. There is a problem with it accelerating. I would press on the gas and it wouldn't give me the acelleration that i would expect from this car... It is very sluggish. I have told this to the dealership on several occasions since 2014. Every time they checked it, they said there wasn'ta problem. One time, i received the same car as a loaner car while they worked on my car,and i could clearly see that there was a difference in the way that car drove versus mine. The loaner car drove better than my car. So, to make a long story short, i dropped my car off at the dealership in mid-may (last month) to be looked at. The service advisor told me that there is an issue with my car (judder issue) and they had my car for a week. During that time, i went online and found others had the same complaints. One person said that their dealership ended up purchasing their car back from them/ refunded their money because the judder issue wasn't resolved. I also spoke to a regional specialist at infiniti and have a case # of case # 22529177. I am going to contact the regional specialist again because this issue isn't resolved but the bottom line is that infiniti sells inferior cars. Another issue is the rubber molding on the passenger right door is coming off and preventing me from closing the door and when someone is in the passenger seat, with their seatbelt is on, the airbag light comes on.im scared that my car will just die on me as i'm driving it. With all the things that are happening with automobiles these days, i do not ant to fall victim to any of these issues.
I leased this 2014 qx60 on 10/23/2013.within the first two weeks we noticed that the "airbag off" light would go on while my wife was in the front seat.it would come on for several minutes then go off.this occurred randomly and would occur days apart.we took the vehicle to the dealer and they adjusted the sensitivity.the issue started back a month later and we took the vehicle back on 2/26/14 and they performed a zero point reset.the issue came back and we returned to the dealership and they said it worked and my wife was too light(weighs 135 pounds) or sitting incorrectly.they recalibrated the sensor.the issue came back as the airbag off light would stay on while my wife was sitting in the seat.this would happen randomly and sometimes come on during a trip and stay on for an hour then turn off.we returned the vehicle on 6/25/14 during our service to address issue again.returned the vehicle again on 10/15/14 and the dealer "reset" the program and said everything was fine.three days later the airbag off came back on with my daughter in the seat(100 pounds) and then a day later with my wife.i contacted infiniti consumer affairs and they informed me this car was not part of the recall and had me return to the dealer to do the same "fix" they have done every other time.they performed another zero point reset.now they want to send a field engineer to investigate this.the car has been to the dealer several times and still has not been repaired.this is a serious safety issue and should be under some type of recall.
I purchased a brand new infiniti qx60 2014 in apr. 2014. The passenger seat airbag has been frequently off even when an adult occupies the seat, and the problem happened just a few days after the purchase.i brought the vehicle to the dealer and they said that they re-calibrated the airbag sensor. Also, the dealer said that the car is not under recall list as the car is newly manufactured in mar. 2014, and the dealer said that they, in fact, do not know how to fix it if the problem persists after the re-calibration of the airbag sensor - they need a field engineer from infiniti directly to investigate this... Unfortunately, i still noticed that the passenger seat airbag is often off even though my wife (or myself) occupied the passenger seat (even after the sensor re-calibration).as the airbag is very critical, this issue must be resolved.
Electrical coupling faulty and cause the car to shudder and jerk. I took it to priority infinity greenbrier it is a know issue. These coupling should last on these vehicles. Component has not been inspected by manufacture. No warning notice at all

The 2014 infiniti qx60 shudders (or bucks) moderately to severely after re-applying the gas after cruising/rolling at 20 mph with rpm at approximately 1,000.this happens to me repeatedly (every day) because my house is at the top of the curve of hill.as i approach the driveway at the top of the hill, i cruise and then re-apply the gas to drive up the driveway. The car shudders (bucks) as i drive up the driveway.if i "gas" it and get the rpms up, it stops.i bought this car used (1 year old) at 14,700miles on 11/1/14.the day i drove it home, the scenario occurred. I have called the dealer. They upgraded the transmission software, but is still occurring. I will call the dealer again.

When taking off from a dead stop sometimes the vehicle pauses and moves very slowly enough to get you in the front of on coming vehicles, and then will not exceed over 10 to 12 mph which takes up to 30 to 45 sec. Or more.i narrowly escaped a semi truck hitting me on the drivers side pulling out of our local post office.on several occasions i have needed to yank the vehicle off the road so as not to get rear ended in traffic.i have taken it to dealership several times, which they said they fixed the issue by replacing something called a break switch, "twice" this however did not correct problem.the national infiniti group sent a recording device which the dealer installed, this meant that when this event occurred i was supposed to reach down to the console where the device was located and push a button to record event all the while trying to avoid an accident.i successfully did it without incident and recorded the requested 6 events.this problem has been consistently occurring now for 7 months.i purchased this vehicle for my elderly parents with every available safety option for their safety, and i have not been able to let them drive the car for over 6 months since they took it on a trip.fearingthat they will not be able to react fast enough to avoid being in an accident or worse getting killed in this vehicle.i have been forced to drive it.infiniti called today and said the results from data recorder showed no fix needed at this time, so they are clearlyignoring the issue as i have read online other people having the exact issue.someone or some family is going to have a tragic accident with this problem and i want to go on record that infiniti corporate are fully aware of the problem and chose to do nothing.
After 4 days we bought a new qx60 2014 the passenger front door does not open from outside or inside a few days after the dealer solved the problem but now after 8 months this happen again.how many times have to repair it?
The air condition cooling system doesn't work. After adding freon and other services, the air condition continues to blow hot air. I was told it could be a compressor problem that causing it not to engage. This car is about 5 years old, which is fairlynew for this kind of major problem.

The car shudder when i stepped on the accelerator. I was told by the infiniti repairman that it was because of the transmission. Checked online and found: the vehicles infiniti qx60 2014 are equipped with continuously variable transmissions known as the jatco cvt8ht that were allegedly defective before they were even installed in the vehicles. Never got a phone call from inifiniti for inspection the possible problem.

I bought this suv in may 2014.about two weeks after my wife and i both noticed that the vehicle shudders at 20 mph when you apply gas.it started getting worse and we called the dealer who scheduled a review.they eventually installed a new transmission.we are about 4 weeks after this repair and are noticing the same issue again.there were also about four incidents where i would shift from park to drive and the transmission would not change into gear for over 10 seconds.....as though it was low on fluid or had a line blockage.i also noticed that when i'm driving at highway speed it and accelerate, sometimes it felt like the transmission was excessively downshifting.i see that this has also been a problem on the jx35 which is the same suv as the qx60.

While driving my car losses normal speed andstops responding to me trying to accelerate even after i hit the pedal all the way to the floor, car keeps slowly moving butdoesn't pick up the speed. Sometimes its jerking on its own and do not respond to my pressure on the gas pedal. Seesm to be realated to similar issue that they have with q50 cars "engine control module (ecm) may temporarily lose a signal from one of the engine management system's throttle position sensors (tps). If this occurs, loss of power followed by sudden unintended acceleration can occur. Due to a software malfunction, the engine may suddenly lose then regain power, causing unintended acceleration.
Car jerks while changing gears.it sometimes hesitates when you step on the gas and often it feels like it "bangs" into gear when it finally does change.it feels like there is a transmission problem.however there does not appear to be any recalls for this.we've had fluid flushes and changes in an effort to fix the problem but it continues to be an issue.

I bought my infinti qx60 used a little over a year ago. I was so excited to finally have a beautiful luxury car with everything i wanted and it would be a safe and dependable car even tho it was used because it was an 'infiniti'. All of a sudden, right after having it a year,i went to accelerate to get onto the highway abc's it bogged out on me halfway thru the pass over onto the highway.. Scared me to death. It continued to bog it several times after that. We took it to mechanic to get the diagnostic code for the issue. We called the dealer we bought it from abce connected nissan/infinity. The problem was a 'transmission shutter' issue with the cvt transmission. We were shocked to find that my dream car had a 'rubber band' transmission.. With recalls on other years for the same transmission. I've been quoted anywhere from $6,000-9,000.00. I feel so upset and defeated by this. The vehicle had low miles for the year. If this had been a issue with previous years and other makes and models, why was this year and model included. I am praying you can help me with this..

I bought this vehicle brand new in 2015. A few months after purchasing the vehicle. It started to give me intermittent issues with the driver side front lights (but not the headlight). A couple of months after i first notice the problem, i had the chance to take it to the dealer.when they tested the vehicle they didn't find any problems. I drove home puzzled because when i drove to the dealer that morning the one of the lights of off.so i tested the lights as soon as i got home and the light didn't go on. I immediately call the rep that help me at the dealer and left a message. Since it was close to 5:30 pm i figured the rep would be calling me next day in the am. No one didand i forgot about the problem do to work. The problem continued on an intermittent basis until the light stopped working. By now the vehicle was out of warrantee but the problem was not affecting my driving or it was not a safety issue. However, just last week, all the lights on the driver side are not working except for the fog light. When took the vehicle to my mechanic, the test revealed that the parts to fix the problem as per his dealer contact cost $1600. It is the balester. According to the dealer rep they have had lots of problems with those; however, if that is the case i never receive any communication from infiniti even after me bringing my vehicle for repairs. The cost of repair with labor now is going to be over $2000 when it could have been fixed while on warranty.

Rubber grommet that holds the gas filler neck in place damaged. Filler neck bent. Replacing cost per the dealer is $1516.70, not covered under warranty.no damage seen on the vehicle. Infiniti to look into this issue further. This might be a safety concern, and should be addressed. Infiniti to check the root cause for this issue of damaged grommet gas filler neck.
On two separate occasions,the gas pedal on the car got stuck in the down position causing the car to accelerate uncontrollably.the first time was while accelerating onto the highway.when i let off the gas pedal, it stuck in the down position and i had to manually disengage it with my foot. The second time on 3/7/2015 at 2050, my wife was driving at a steady speed of 65 mph when the gas pedal went down on its own causing the car to accelerate to approximately 85 mph before she was able to disengage the pedal.there was nothing underneath the pedal to cause it to get stuck either time. My wife called the dealership and was told by the general manager, [xxx], that it was probably the rug stuck under the pedal and the all weather mat should not have been put over the standard mat. These had been installed by the dealer and we explained that the mats were not near the pedal. They finally agreed to come get the vehicle to check it. When the driver came to pick it up, he stated he was told the mats were causing the pedal to get stuck.we told him that was not the case and we didn't think the vehicle was safe to drive. He tested the gas pedal with the vehicle off and said it felt abnormal.it had a click mid way down as well as a click at the very bottom of thy range of the pedal.i also called infiniti customer support and reported this as well.case # [xxx] was assigned.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
We are experiencing shifting delays and grinding when accelerating. The car is shaking at aroun 30/40 mph speed and we hear whistling soundcoming from under the hood when driving. When the car is running but stationary no noise is heard.

Transmission requiring frequent replacementmy transmission has been replaced twice in the past year and is currently experiencing issues again. Prior to the first replacement, the engine would stutter when operating at load speeds. After the first transmission replacement, the issue manufactured in dangerous situations. For example, when merging onto a highway, the car would not accelerate past 20 mph or shift gears.i contacted infiniti corporate to file a formal complaint and they sent a 'transmission specialist' out to review the vehicle. It was determined that a security update from 2015 was not applied to the car. I'm not sure how a dealership service vehicle could be missing a 3 year old patch, but we will ignore that fact for now. Even with the security update, the car is exhibiting the same behavior. It is unfortunately not consistent though, so service hasn't been able to fix. These vehicles need to be recalled already for safety.
While in motion, the engine is extremely loud, almost like a race car or big truck.this continues in lower gears and at slower speeds. Around 50-60 mph, the sound smooths off.then, when slowing down, reoccurs.will some times stutter when taking off from a turn or on acceleration.this delay could cause an accident.

We have had repeated issues with the transmission failing on this vehicle.the vehicle will often not accelerate from a stop or to pass another vehicle.the transmission will shudder, jerk, and emits a high pitched whine.we have nearly had several accidents with this vehicle because it cannot get out of the way.the dealer replaced the transmission about 6 months ago and the problems are even worse now.
While driving the vehicle to work i started experiencing a clunking sound from under the vehicle like i had something stuck under it. The vehicle has never been off road or neglected. It seems like a very poor design aspect that shows early in ownership, shame on infiniti for poor craftsmanship in a most vital part!!!!!!
In 2017 infiniti replace transmission for shudder and stalling issues now in november 2020 starting to have shuddering and stalling issues again almost got into a major accident car stalled while trying to turn at a major intersection can you please please look into this before some gets seriously hurt or killed i've seen a few complaints on line and no one is addressing this
When accelerating the vehicle begins to shudder and it does not accelerate in a timely fashion.while driving on the street or highway the car does not gain rpms and begins to what best can be described as coughing andshaking.changing gears from drive to neutral or reverse also takes the vehicle time to make the change.
I noticed a shaking when car was riding at 15-25 mph and would go away once i reached a higher speed.took to mechanic for oil change and asked to check.i was told to take to dealership based on code they were getting.took car to dealership and was told it was a part of transmission that was under warranty.they ordered part and when went to do work another code appeared and i was told they were replacing the entire transmission.then i was told the electronic rear coupling was also replaced.all work under warranty.on the way home from dealership after repairs complete the car completely died on me.shut down on major road- dead- not even emergency flashers would work.had are immediately towed back to dealership.i was called the next days to say it was the battery.i didn't believe that was the problem as the battery was only 2 years old.after a charge the car was drivable.i picked up and dropped off at my mechanic.they tested everything- battery completely fine and they couldn't find anything wrong.car was fine when they drove.picked up 2 days ago and had the problem again today.the car shuts down when going from breaks to gas and from parked to gas.i just get a malfunction alert.when car left off for sometime it 'recharges' and then is okay.
When the vehicle is stopped on a moderate grade hill it will not go forward when the accelerator is pushed.the motor rpms increase but no power is transmitted to the wheels. The car mush be allowed to roll backwards before the transmission engages and moves the car forward.
Traveling on a slight incline on a city street at 15 to 25 mph the vehicle has severe shudders\stutters\jerking and has poor acceleration that prevents the driver from maneuvering and avoiding other vehicles.
My husband and i were traveling on i-95 southbound from ct to ny when our brand new infinity qx60 simply stopped driving between exit 19 and exit 18 (ne11.9). The engine was running but the car could not move.we used whatever momentum left on the car to move to the right shoulder of the road.this malfunction was a life endangering mechanical failure since we were traveling on the left side of the highway.the qx60 was traveling at a low speed due to the traffic jam at the time of the incident.we were told that the malfunctioning was due to a factory error which the clamp of the transmission fluid pipe was not engaged.an error could have cost lives on the road.

When taking off from a dead stop sometimes the vehicle pauses and moves very slowly enough to get you in the front of on coming vehicles, and then will not exceed over 10 to 12 mph which takes up to 30 to 45 sec. Or more.i narrowly escaped a semi truck hitting me on the drivers side pulling out of our local post office.on several occasions i have needed to yank the vehicle off the road so as not to get rear ended in traffic.i have taken it to dealership several times, which they said they fixed the issue by replacing something called a break switch, "twice" this however did not correct problem.the national infiniti group sent a recording device which the dealer installed, this meant that when this event occurred i was supposed to reach down to the console where the device was located and push a button to record event all the while trying to avoid an accident.i successfully did it without incident and recorded the requested 6 events.this problem has been consistently occurring now for 7 months.i purchased this vehicle for my elderly parents with every available safety option for their safety, and i have not been able to let them drive the car for over 6 months since they took it on a trip.fearingthat they will not be able to react fast enough to avoid being in an accident or worse getting killed in this vehicle.i have been forced to drive it.infiniti called today and said the results from data recorder showed no fix needed at this time, so they are clearlyignoring the issue as i have read online other people having the exact issue.someone or some family is going to have a tragic accident with this problem and i want to go on record that infiniti corporate are fully aware of the problem and chose to do nothing.
The cvt transmission, whines super loud and slips like when your foot is down sometimes you lost power completely and wont shift right until you lift foot up and wait a while. Very dangerous if you have fast moving cars behind you and your suv craps out and stops.i took it to the bennet allenton infiniti while under warranty which expired 2 months ago and they told me a cvttnasmission is always moving.i explained that i know the difference between an auto transmission and a cvt and how they work.this problem is not normal operating for a cvt tranny.so again in the middle of driving in traffic while accelerating normal, the pedal goes to the floor and the car stops accelerating, so you are slowing down drastically until you lift up foot and wait until it wants to catch or shift.

We have had two issues with our 2014 qx60.the first issue was a shudder problem where the vehicle would shake/hesitate/felt like it was going to stall at lower speeds, around corners, etc.after several attempts the dealership advised it was a transmission issue and the entire transmission was replaced.the second issue came about after the transmission was replaced and has yet to be fixed.the accelerator will intermittently not work.this happens either from a stop ? i go to hit the gas and either nothing happens or the car lurches forward and stops.i will press on the accelerator again and it will work. The other time is when you are driving and go to increase your speed ? you press on the gas and the rpm?s go down and nothing happens.i press on the gas again and nothing happens.i try again and it will kick in.the dealership had our car for 6 weeks for the second issue and cannot replicate it so therefore they won?t do anything for us.we are now going through an arbitration program requesting a replacement of our vehicle as it seems to meet lemon law.we have an unsafe unpredictable vehicle that we spent a lot of money on.we are very unhappy with infinity corporate as they offered us $1,000 to go away.this is not about money but about safety issues.infinity corporate also stated that the number of times our vehicle has been seen for the problem is not unreasonable.i beg to differ as having our vehicle gone for a full 6 weeks (and this does not count all the other times it has been to the dealer for the other issue) is very unreasonable.we were told we had to pick up our vehicle after 6 weeks.two weeks later we had the issue happen twice to us so we called the dealership and they were hesitant to accept the vehicle to their repair department. They did accept it finally but unsure what they are even doing with the vehicle at this point.

When starting from a standstill, the car jerks and hesitates to move.several times i have been taking a left and as i push the gas, the car just does nothing and i'm afraid i'll be sitting in the middle of the two lane highway unable to get out of the way of oncoming traffic.as others have noted, the transmission jerks and it looks as if i'm failing miserably at driving stick shift, but the car is manual.we thought for a long time that the jerking was due to the transition from electric to gas, but as the jerking got worse we realized it was the transmission.i now cannot get rid of this car without paying $10k on the loan because of this issue.it would probably cost me the same to have the transmission replaced, but it sounds like others have paid to have the transmission repaired or replaced, but the same problems persist.i just want to be rid of this car and i will never buy a hybrid or an infiniti again.
I purchased in feb 2019. Since march my vehicle has been in/out of the shop at least 6 times for the following issues: shuddering while driving, hesitates to accelerate especially on inclines and reverse (i could be sitting on a tiny incline and when i attempt to press the gas, the vehicle doesn't respond, and then would eventually jerk and drive after it catches the gear), not properly shifting gears while driving (almost had an accident due to this driving up an on-ramp on the freeway, the vehicle wouldn't accelerate fast enough for me to merge), and makes loud sounds randomly. I've taken it to my local infinite dealer numerous times and they don't see a problem when they test it. So i then drove with a tech and duplicated the problem. But they continue to deny repairs because my vehicle isn't registering any codes while testing the transmission, even after the problem was duplicated. They have kept my vehicle weeks at a time (they have it right now) doing software upgrades and patching whatever. But the problem still exist today. I've only had it for 8 mos (purchased pre-owned). I even opened two cases with infiniti consumer affairs and they even quit following up. I wish i could get rid of this vehicle. It's not safe to drive while the manufacturer is refusing to repair a "well known" issue for this vehicle. I'm well aware of the lawsuits involved but i guess it's going to take someonebeing hurt before they take action. What actions can i take? i have copies of all my records but they are in my vehicle at the dealership for the same problem
While driving my car losses normal speed andstops responding to me trying to accelerate even after i hit the pedal all the way to the floor, car keeps slowly moving butdoesn't pick up the speed. Sometimes its jerking on its own and do not respond to my pressure on the gas pedal. Seesm to be realated to similar issue that they have with q50 cars "engine control module (ecm) may temporarily lose a signal from one of the engine management system's throttle position sensors (tps). If this occurs, loss of power followed by sudden unintended acceleration can occur. Due to a software malfunction, the engine may suddenly lose then regain power, causing unintended acceleration.

The 2014 infiniti qx60 shudders (or bucks) moderately to severely after re-applying the gas after cruising/rolling at 20 mph with rpm at approximately 1,000.this happens to me repeatedly (every day) because my house is at the top of the curve of hill.as i approach the driveway at the top of the hill, i cruise and then re-apply the gas to drive up the driveway. The car shudders (bucks) as i drive up the driveway.if i "gas" it and get the rpms up, it stops.i bought this car used (1 year old) at 14,700miles on 11/1/14.the day i drove it home, the scenario occurred. I have called the dealer. They upgraded the transmission software, but is still occurring. I will call the dealer again.
I bought my infinti qx60 used a little over a year ago. I was so excited to finally have a beautiful luxury car with everything i wanted and it would be a safe and dependable car even tho it was used because it was an 'infiniti'. All of a sudden, right after having it a year,i went to accelerate to get onto the highway abc's it bogged out on me halfway thru the pass over onto the highway.. Scared me to death. It continued to bog it several times after that. We took it to mechanic to get the diagnostic code for the issue. We called the dealer we bought it from abce connected nissan/infinity. The problem was a 'transmission shutter' issue with the cvt transmission. We were shocked to find that my dream car had a 'rubber band' transmission.. With recalls on other years for the same transmission. I've been quoted anywhere from $6,000-9,000.00. I feel so upset and defeated by this. The vehicle had low miles for the year. If this had been a issue with previous years and other makes and models, why was this year and model included. I am praying you can help me with this..
I bought this suv in may 2014.about two weeks after my wife and i both noticed that the vehicle shudders at 20 mph when you apply gas.it started getting worse and we called the dealer who scheduled a review.they eventually installed a new transmission.we are about 4 weeks after this repair and are noticing the same issue again.there were also about four incidents where i would shift from park to drive and the transmission would not change into gear for over 10 seconds.....as though it was low on fluid or had a line blockage.i also noticed that when i'm driving at highway speed it and accelerate, sometimes it felt like the transmission was excessively downshifting.i see that this has also been a problem on the jx35 which is the same suv as the qx60.
My 2014 infiniti qx60 with 47000 miles is having transmission issues. While on a family reunion in the hills of southern ohio, i had two separate, really hard downshifts after cresting a hill at about 40-45 mph. Since then i have experienced 2 or 3 instances of shuttering when accelerating from red lights.

When it gets up to around 40 mph the vibrations/shuddering and the noise start to kick in.it's sometimes not noticeable at lower speeds but is hard not consistent. Had the motor checked to see if it was the cause. Transmission came back as the source of the issues.
Had several incidents involving revving of engine and vehicle not accelerating when merging or from a stop sign.i was almost involved in accident on interstate 95 when merging, infiniti has replaced tranmission and multiple other parts but problem still not fixed.there is still a vibrating metal noise when driving the vehicle up hill at a slow speed, not actually accelerating just maintaining the speed.my vehicle only has 23000 miles on it.infiniti is refusing to accept there is an issue says there is no safety issue.infiniti executive office advised if it does not happen when their technician drives the car there is not issue with the vehicle even if it is recorded. Unfortunately it is a sporatic thing and unless you drive it 500 miles you might not have anything occur.i had 2 major incidents within 500 miles.infiniti executive office also indicated that the number of repairs does not warrant a buyback or sell back option even though they have attempted to repair the vehicle 5 times, when asked how many time would warrant it they advised that they do not know my states laws.i was advised to pick up the vehicle today.sad they are willing to put a family in danger even though this is a very known problem after searching the internet.
Problem 1: approximately 4 weeks after purchasing the car, we noticed that the passenger side air bag would deactivate during operation while an adult was in the seat.car was taken to infiniti dealer and software was updated according to the airbag recall.however the issue continues to remain and the passenger airbag still randomly deactivates while an adult is in the seat.infiniti has been informed multiple times but states that the issue cannot be replicated and as such has not done anything to fix it.infiniti has stated that the seat belts continue to work and is the first line defense in an accident!problem 2:approximately 2 weeks after purchasing the car, we experienced transmission judder at low speeds (5-10mph) and going around corners.infiniti updated the transmission software but the issue has not been fully solved.the transmission still has some juddering.infiniti has been informed multiple times but states that the issue cannot be replicated and as such has not done anything to fix it.

I experienced the third episode after a cold start and turning and entering with plenty of time into oncoming traffic on a two lane highway of 50mph from a boulevard.after turning i had no acceleration.engine rpm was revving excessively but if felt as though transmission wasn't shifting.no power.i had to pull over due to slow speed and traffic coming up behind me.very dangerous.after i let up on the accelerator i felt the transmission kick in.then had power and felt upper gears engage.

From a standstill, i press the accelerator to turn into traffic, and after the car initially moves forward, the car appears to slip out of gear even though it shows that it's in drive. The engine rpms rev with the accelerator pressed, but the car will not accelerate or move. Lifting up and re-pressing the accelerator only makes the tachometer rpms rev up, but after about 10 seconds, the car pops back into gear. When i pull out into traffic, i could cause a serious accident if my car will not accelerate and lies dead in the road! the dealer cannot replicate the problem because it only occurs a few times a month, but it has been going on for 12 months now. I also see dozens of online posts and complaints identical to this from other qx60 owners. This is a serious injury and death risk.

Intermittent issues involving the braking system. Most days the issue is not present. Some days the issue occurs the entire day. Some days the issue only occurs once out of 4-5 times the vehicle is used. 1. Brake pedal sinks to floor when at a stop. Wheezing sound when releasing the brake pedal.2. When braking softly, brake pedal travels about 50% before the vehicle begins slowing.3. Issue persists the entire time the car is in use. Restarting the vehicle sometimes restores functionality.
2014 qx 60 on two separate occasions (dec 18, 2015 and jan 2nd,2016, roughly 2 weeks apart )the top bolts on the front break calipers fell off causing the caliper to tilt off the rotor.in the firstinstance, the front driver side wheel started making some grinding noises while driving, as if the break pads were low.the noise started off a being very light when breaking, then continuous grinding.it was not until further inspection that we realized that the entire caliper fallen forward and was rubbing onto the interior of the wheel rim.we made the repair and replaced the bolt and assumed it was a fluke and just one of those random things. Two weeks later, while driving on the freeway with my family in san diego, we started to hear the same noise again.upon further inspection we discovered that the other front caliper had also become disengaged. The vehicle was towed to the nearest inifinti dealer for inspection.it was a saturday evening and was not till tuesday morning when their service dept replaced the missing bolt and returned the vehicle.after the second incident,i researched the issue online to discover that there was a recall issued on the exact same problem we experienced, with the caliper bolts not being torqued on during the manufacturing process.however after discussing with the dealer and infiniti, i was told the recall did not include themanufacturing date of my vehicle.in the first instance the break pads were still intact with the caliper when it shifted forward off the rotor.in the second instance the break pads actually slipped off the caliper. Abs brake actuator- when the vehicle is stopped, the brake pedal will continue to depress. When the break is released a chirping sound is made. This is a known safety issue on the 2017 model. The dealer and several chat groups online all point to this being a known issue with the model. There is a 2017 recall for this part. The recall says it is a potential fire hazard. I believes the recall needs to be expanded. The abs brake actuator should not fail on a vehicle with 77,000 miles. I had the car at the dealer for the issue previously and they "could not find" the issue. A third trip and the issue is found.
The steering wheel when im drivring and try to turn the car shut down the radio shut down and the power wheel get hard to turn the transmission is not good the car vibrat and the its not sppeding when you press the gaz its not going and the car vibrating a lot transmission problem
Electrical coupling faulty and cause the car to shudder and jerk. I took it to priority infinity greenbrier it is a know issue. These coupling should last on these vehicles. Component has not been inspected by manufacture. No warning notice at all
The tailgate will close on you and the sensor that tell the tailgate a person or object is in the way completely fails. Its dangerous for anyone but especially children or elderly. This does not happen every time. Sometimes with the interior release button and almost always with the remote key fob.
My 2014 infiniti qx60 has a sunroof that exploded while driving on the freeway. I was driving approximately 65mph when i heard the loudest "bang" i have ever heard. I thought the car had gotten shot. Upon pulling over and examining the vehicle, i saw that the sunroof had exploded. I had not passed under any overpasses, no trucks were near my vehicle. I noted that the there was not even a scratch to the interior sunroof panel, which would have sustained damage if something had fallen on it. Furthermore, it was obvious from the glass that the damage was not from a falling object. Shards of glass had apparently blown into the streets as i drove. I was extremely shaken as i swerved when i heard the noise
I was driving on the highway when suddenly my sunroof shattered. It sounded as if someone hit my glass with a bat. It was late at night and there were no trucks or other cars around me. There are no other scratches or dents on the roof of my car and no rocks were found in the shade with the glass. Thankful that i had the shade closed because other wise i would've been covered in glass and possibly cut. This has to be a recall, a safety recall at that.
Paint on hood of vehicle is chipping off.noticed after washing vehicle in drive through car wash which intailed high pressure wash.

The steering wheel when im drivring and try to turn the car shut down the radio shut down and the power wheel get hard to turn the transmission is not good the car vibrat and the its not sppeding when you press the gaz its not going and the car vibrating a lot transmission problem
Sunroof exploded while driving.
I was driving on a highway and all of a sudden i hear a loud boom, as if a gun was fired right by my ear.i almost ran into another car because it startled me so.i pulled off onto a median and inspected the car. I looked atmy car and when i looked at the roof, i realized that my sunroof was shattered. I was shocked! i was very fortunate to not have gotten into an accident.my son, who was with me was also very scared.he was worried about the other windows exploding.it was very frightening.
2014 qx 60 infinity, presented problems with badly jerking,ugly scrappingnoise, now transmisin leaks , burning smell while driving
Sunroof glass spontaneously exploded n shattered into small pieces shards and glass dust without impact from anything.
Heard a loud noise when making a turn and steering wheel started shaking. Car became not drivable so had it towed to dealer. They said wheel was about to break off from the entire assembly.i didn't hit anything and was very scary.

I was traveling on the interstate and heard a loud bang, like a gunshot overhead and glass fell into the cabin on myself, wife and two kids.the sunroof on our 2014 infinity qx60 was closed, but had exploded into thousands of pieces.i observed no road debris or falling meteors that could have struck the sunroof and caused it to explode.upon further investigation, it appears that spontaneously exploding sunroofs are an increasing problem that manufacturers and dealerships refuse to acknowledge, which is also our experience as we were forced to file an insurance claim in order to replace the sunroof.
The air condition cooling system doesn't work. After adding freon and other services, the air condition continues to blow hot air. I was told it could be a compressor problem that causing it not to engage. This car is about 5 years old, which is fairlynew for this kind of major problem.
The sunroof is leaking during heavy rains & has caused electrical issues with my car. My key fob is malfunctioning, the water is leaking through the dome lights & my radio keeps changing channels.

I have been having issues with my infiniti qx60 since i purchased it 09/2014. There is a problem with it accelerating. I would press on the gas and it wouldn't give me the acelleration that i would expect from this car... It is very sluggish. I have told this to the dealership on several occasions since 2014. Every time they checked it, they said there wasn'ta problem. One time, i received the same car as a loaner car while they worked on my car,and i could clearly see that there was a difference in the way that car drove versus mine. The loaner car drove better than my car. So, to make a long story short, i dropped my car off at the dealership in mid-may (last month) to be looked at. The service advisor told me that there is an issue with my car (judder issue) and they had my car for a week. During that time, i went online and found others had the same complaints. One person said that their dealership ended up purchasing their car back from them/ refunded their money because the judder issue wasn't resolved. I also spoke to a regional specialist at infiniti and have a case # of case # 22529177. I am going to contact the regional specialist again because this issue isn't resolved but the bottom line is that infiniti sells inferior cars. Another issue is the rubber molding on the passenger right door is coming off and preventing me from closing the door and when someone is in the passenger seat, with their seatbelt is on, the airbag light comes on.im scared that my car will just die on me as i'm driving it. With all the things that are happening with automobiles these days, i do not ant to fall victim to any of these issues.
Sunroof exploded while driving. Glass exploded everywhere and could have hit my children in the backseat, as well as my husband and i sitting in the front. No warning signs at all.
Rear right door encounter actuator malfunction, door won't open from indoor, later on double check the child safety lock, which was not activated, therefore it was confirmed door actuator was malfunction.
My car got front collision prevention and lane departure prevention. Recently car involved in an accident. My wife says she had this system turned on and as per witness, my wife went into other lane and hit the road sign(which was there to divert traffic). If the system were working, it would have prevented drifting to another lane and also have prevented frontal collision. My car was hit at front corner drive side so i think it must have some defect where its ignoring corners. It was local street and road were clear and no snow were on ground.

Hi,while driving on a highway suddenly the transmission started acting weird. Sometimes sudden acceleration without giving gas, sometimes slowdown to below 40mph. I cautiously avoid couple of close accidents. I drove slow with my blinkers on to reach home.i took the car to the dealer this morning to check this out. Hopefully this should be covered by manufacturer's warranty.
I bought this suv in may 2014.about two weeks after my wife and i both noticed that the vehicle shudders at 20 mph when you apply gas.it started getting worse and we called the dealer who scheduled a review.they eventually installed a new transmission.we are about 4 weeks after this repair and are noticing the same issue again.there were also about four incidents where i would shift from park to drive and the transmission would not change into gear for over 10 seconds.....as though it was low on fluid or had a line blockage.i also noticed that when i'm driving at highway speed it and accelerate, sometimes it felt like the transmission was excessively downshifting.i see that this has also been a problem on the jx35 which is the same suv as the qx60.
When accelerating the vehicle begins to shudder and it does not accelerate in a timely fashion.while driving on the street or highway the car does not gain rpms and begins to what best can be described as coughing andshaking.changing gears from drive to neutral or reverse also takes the vehicle time to make the change.
My wife purchased 2014 infiniti qx-60 suv on january 23, 2014. She noticed when setting the intelligent cruise control at 40 mph the vehicle will pick-up speed going downhill. Depending on the length and grade of the hill the vehicle will increase as much as 30+ mph. When i drove the vehicle i noticed the engine rpm's remained at, 1500 rpm's,but the speed would continue to increase. On march 18,2014 i made a visit to dealership and met with the service consultant and the service manager. I explained what i experienced and asked if they could look into it for me.when i picked up the vehicle i was told they were unable to duplicate my concern. I then contacted infiniti consumer affairs via email and explained my concern. I received a phone call from the consumer affairs person, and was told to call the dealerships service manager to schedule a test drive of the same model. I found it to have the same problem as my wife's car. I call the consumer affairs person at infiniti and told him what i found.he explained that was how the cruise control was designed and is normal. On november 19,2014, i request to be notified when the infiniti representative would be at the dealership. The infiniti representative happen to be in the services managers office so i explained my problem to them. The service manager suggested we go for a test drive, and he drove. He set the intelligent cruise control at 40 mph, when we started downhill the vehicle picking up speed. When we reached the bottom we continued to pick up speed, almost 30 mph. The service manager contacted the infiniti technical support group and explain what he experienced, and was told that this is normal. Sections 5-53 - 5-56 in the owner's manual states under the warnings "on steep downhill roads the vehicle may go beyond the set vehicle speed and frequent braking may result in overheating the brakes". Transmission was replaced by dealership free of charge late last year, now transmission is shuddering while driving and car will not accelerate over 25-35 mph.

While driving on the highway, the acceleration pedal got stuck in the 'pushed in' position. The car was accelerating on its own reaching speeds up to 95 mph.
This vehicle is equipped with intelligent cruise control.a test drive with the dealership on 11/19/2014 revealed, setting the cruise at 40 mph showed an increase in speed of 30+ mph, downhill. When going downhill the vehicle will increase in speed with the engine rpm's remaining at 1500 rpm's, 1500rpm = 40 mph.this clearly shows the cruise control is not releasing the throttle and not downshifting to slow the vehicle down, as standard cruise does.this is my second request for help, please look into this problem.thanks for your help,[xxx] 'information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'
While driving my car losses normal speed andstops responding to me trying to accelerate even after i hit the pedal all the way to the floor, car keeps slowly moving butdoesn't pick up the speed. Sometimes its jerking on its own and do not respond to my pressure on the gas pedal. Seesm to be realated to similar issue that they have with q50 cars "engine control module (ecm) may temporarily lose a signal from one of the engine management system's throttle position sensors (tps). If this occurs, loss of power followed by sudden unintended acceleration can occur. Due to a software malfunction, the engine may suddenly lose then regain power, causing unintended acceleration.
We have had two issues with our 2014 qx60.the first issue was a shudder problem where the vehicle would shake/hesitate/felt like it was going to stall at lower speeds, around corners, etc.after several attempts the dealership advised it was a transmission issue and the entire transmission was replaced.the second issue came about after the transmission was replaced and has yet to be fixed.the accelerator will intermittently not work.this happens either from a stop ? i go to hit the gas and either nothing happens or the car lurches forward and stops.i will press on the accelerator again and it will work. The other time is when you are driving and go to increase your speed ? you press on the gas and the rpm?s go down and nothing happens.i press on the gas again and nothing happens.i try again and it will kick in.the dealership had our car for 6 weeks for the second issue and cannot replicate it so therefore they won?t do anything for us.we are now going through an arbitration program requesting a replacement of our vehicle as it seems to meet lemon law.we have an unsafe unpredictable vehicle that we spent a lot of money on.we are very unhappy with infinity corporate as they offered us $1,000 to go away.this is not about money but about safety issues.infinity corporate also stated that the number of times our vehicle has been seen for the problem is not unreasonable.i beg to differ as having our vehicle gone for a full 6 weeks (and this does not count all the other times it has been to the dealer for the other issue) is very unreasonable.we were told we had to pick up our vehicle after 6 weeks.two weeks later we had the issue happen twice to us so we called the dealership and they were hesitant to accept the vehicle to their repair department. They did accept it finally but unsure what they are even doing with the vehicle at this point.
On two separate occasions,the gas pedal on the car got stuck in the down position causing the car to accelerate uncontrollably.the first time was while accelerating onto the highway.when i let off the gas pedal, it stuck in the down position and i had to manually disengage it with my foot. The second time on 3/7/2015 at 2050, my wife was driving at a steady speed of 65 mph when the gas pedal went down on its own causing the car to accelerate to approximately 85 mph before she was able to disengage the pedal.there was nothing underneath the pedal to cause it to get stuck either time. My wife called the dealership and was told by the general manager, [xxx], that it was probably the rug stuck under the pedal and the all weather mat should not have been put over the standard mat. These had been installed by the dealer and we explained that the mats were not near the pedal. They finally agreed to come get the vehicle to check it. When the driver came to pick it up, he stated he was told the mats were causing the pedal to get stuck.we told him that was not the case and we didn't think the vehicle was safe to drive. Sun visor is broken and hangs down in the sight line of the driver.the car is a 2014 infinity qx 60 and both visors are broken.cost is over $400 to fix the faulty parts plus labor.this is a safety hazard and a faulty part that is a rip off for $400 to fix.contacted infinity corporate to see about replacing the faulty parts and was told that they would not cover any of the cost.treating it as normal wear and tear.the vehicle is 4 years old and has 64k miles.
