Qx56 2008had left me stranded cv several times i believe recently after adding gas saw my fuel go from 88miles of fuel to 27miles of fuel left i don't trust it wortied i will be strandedandnow it has eracticly have no lights in the dash just slippery rd sim bv le and i shut it off only to end up with no power as if battery was dead after disconnecting battery now my fuel is always at empty after driving for 10minutes

During normal operation of the vehicle and while in motion, the abs brake light indicator on the dash control panel illuminates when applying the brakes, which cause the brakes to shake and make scraping sound.at that point the brakes fail to stop the vehicle in a safe distance, increasing the chance of a collision.abs brake light clears and normal brake functions return when the ignition is turned off, then back on.

Brake light comes on while driving, when pressure is applied to brakes under 40mph there is a grinding noise and the brakes skip. You can turn the ignition off and back on and sometimes the brake light goes off and everything is fine and sometimes it is not.there seems to be no rhyme or reason. Some days it never comes on and some days it never goes off. After researching online it appears that it is an issue with the computer module and a software update is needed.please fix this. The first time it happened it was very scary! i was driving with my 3 kids and thought that my brakes had went out completely. It was months before it happened again but now it seems to be an every day occurence.

Constant moisture build up causing headlight burnout a dangerous situation didn't know until police pulled me over. Five times this incident has happened. Very expensive fix and extremely expensive replacement. Unfair to consumerauto shops says the company knows about it. A safety recall is needed.

There wasn't any accidents, but if this problem doesn't get resolved there will be. This is by far the most unsafe vehicle i've ever come across!if you hit any irregular road surface or pothole your car shifts. If you are traveling at high speeds it will actually throw your car into the lane to the right. I've read several forums with the same type of complaints. I don't understand why this is still a problem i'm terrified to drive my kids in this and i'm unfortunately stuck in this vehicle because i'm upside down. This needs addressed immediately what a terrible vehicle i will never buy another!

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that while parked, he noticed a ticking sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the engine manifold was fractured and would have to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Apparently as all other complaints are similar with the brake light coming on and as i apply pressure to the brake to stop the scrubbing and scraping sound is unbearable, i've been told it's the brake booster is bad for infiniti qx56. Fix the problem if everyone is having the same issue, please before someone gets killed.also there's an exhaust leak which you can tell by a flickering noise when you crank up and accelerate.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000. The vin was not provided.

On 9-4-2011 i left tallahassee, florida. As i got to the edge of town i noticed it started to idle slightly high. By the time i got to thomasville, georgia, it would accelerate to about 45 mph without any acceleration pressure and the brakes were required frequently. Between thomasville and moultrie, georgia, it would accelerate independently but it would drop down if i pressed and released the accelerator. It also seemed to maintain speed a bit better if i used the cruise control. As i turned onto mack dekle road just south of moultrie, the engine tacked out into the (maximum) red area. In a panic, i pressed the brake and slowed down enough to force it to "park". I restarted the vehicle several times and it revved to maximum rpms. I left it in the lane and called my wife who called ctv towing. After about 30 minutes i started it and it idled normally so i carefully moved it to thelee lewis road (less traffic and speed). The vehicle was then towed to nappleton infinity in tallahssee, florida on monday. I called the infinity dealer to tell them it was coming. After running computer checks and test driving, they concluding that the accelerator was hung on the floor mat. That is actually not the case as there was an obvious spontaneous acceleration that started in tallahassee. The floor mat was not moved between the time the vehicle accelerated on mack dekle road and the time it idled/ran normally to move it to lee lewis road.

Constant moisture build up causing headlight burnout a dangerous situation didn't know until police pulled me over. Five times this incident has happened. Very expensive fix and extremely expensive replacement. Unfair to consumerauto shops says the company knows about it. A safety recall is needed.

Headlamp assembly is cracked and condensation builds up, shorting out the igniter.apparently my mechanic says that nissan and infiniti know of the problem 8 models for 6 years (or 6 models for 8 years) and have not issued a recall.but the price for the headlamp assemblies and ignitors are outrageous.the problem is so prevalent, there is a youtube video showing how to dry out the headlamp assembly and caulk it to reuse!this many problems and no recall seems very dangerous.it cost me $1000 to replace an ignitor. It would have cost $4,000 to replace two headlamp assemblies. Who has $4,000 to replace a couple of headlamps?????and how is this safe.it is illegal to drive with one headlight.the manufacturer should make sure this equipment is working properly!!!!!

I boughtmy vehicle used, a few weeks after purchase i noticedcondensationinsidethe headlight assembly on the passengerside. I'vereceivedno help in solvingthis problem from the dealer or infiniti the company themselvesnow both driver and passenger have condensationin them in.the situation is so bad that it blows the lamps so that night drivingis hazardouslet alonedangerous . I cannothave my childrenin the car due to this. I'vebeen told by dealers this is a defect with the vehicleand infiniti will not listen or help with this problem, i found many others with this same situationi'maskingfor your help with this not just for my familybut the countless others who are in danger of a very seriousproblem with this vehicle low visibilitywith the assemblyand lamps blowingout from the condensation i cannotdrive my vehicleat night now.please help me.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the passenger side headlight failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the passenger side headlight was replaced. In addition, the driver side headlight failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.

Last week i experienced two separate, unrelated safety problems with my 2008 infiniti qx56.on thursday the truck abruptly lost all power including power steering and brakes and came to rest on a highway.it turns out that i had run out of fuel, despite the fuel gauge reading just under half a tank remaining.i had earlier been notified of a recall regarding this issue, but was on a wait list due to lack of replacement parts.the vehicle was repaired per the recall the next day, friday.on sunday, the vehicle suddenly lost it's brakes, the brake pedal fell to the floor, and the brake warning light went off.i was able to bring the vehicle to stop and had it towed to the dealer, who confirmed the failure and attributed it to a failed master brake booster.

While driving to the gas station my 2008 infinity qx56 simply died. I had to pull to the right to get out of traffic on a busy street. I called the dealership ( for roadside assistance) and was told i was probably out of gas. I have never in 26 years of driving run out of gas and the gas metershowed 1/8+ full. I was then informed that there was a recall on an internal gage in the tank. The dealer has known about the recall for weeks, but, i was told, customers were not informed because they weren't sure how they were going to fix the problem. This is a hazardous recall that is being handled with total disregard. Running out of gas can cause catastrophic accidents.had i been informed immediately, i could have prevented my incident. I was in danger, but thankfully iwas unharmed. I shudder to think what would/could have happened if i had been on the highway or if my 16-year-old had been driving. I now know that until they are able to fix it, i cannot leave my gas tank under 1/2 full.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. While the contact was driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle stalled without warning. The fuel gauge indicated that there was a half gallon of gasoline in the fuel tank. The vehicle would not restart, and it was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician stated that there was a recall regarding the fuel system; nhtsa campaign id number 10v074000 (fuel system, other: storage: fuel gauge system). The vehicle had not been repaired when the complaint was filed since the part was unavailable for the recall repair; however, the part would be available within two months. The technician stated that until the vehicle was repaired only a half tank of fuel could be consumed in the fuel tank. The contact was concerned of the potential safety hazard. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they were making an attemptto have the parts available to the authorized dealers as soon as possible. The failure and current mileages were 57,500.

The contact owns a 2008 infinity qx56. The contact stated that after shifting into park with the engine turned on and exiting the vehicle, the vehicle erroneously rolled away and crashed into a nearby building within ten minutes. The contact indicated that the shifter lever was still engaged in park after the failure.there were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was repaired but no information was provided to the contact. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 70,000.

My question is somewhat irrelevant now, seeingthat the damage to my vehicles is already done. I have owned two vehicles made by nissan, a 2004 armada le and now a 2008 infiniti qx56. On both of these units the front differential pinion seal leaked causing damage to the front differential bearings. I have heard of many others experiencing this same problem. Q. Can you please tell me why this issue has not been recalled by nissan? it's obvious this is a major problem (among many others with this vehicle) that nissan chooses to ignore.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that the drivers seat would move forward and backwards while driving at any speed. The vehicle had been repaired by the dealer several times but the failure persisted. The manufacturer confirmed that their decision to provide assistance was based on the dealers report. The dealer advised the manufacturer that the failed part was repaired. The manufacturer would not provide any additional assistance. The failure mileage was 12,000 and the current mileage was 31,000.

Vehicle would not stop, and the brake light came on. There was a spring noise coming from the dash.the vehicle was turned off and turned back on and the problem went away.from what i have read on line it is a faulty delta stroke sensor.

I hear i ping sound like a spring, the break light comes on and i am unable to stop the vehicle as normal. Appears the vehicle is attempting to slow down but does not come to stop as it normally should. Once i turn the vehicle off then back on it's just fine until it randomly occurs again when applying the breaks and/or when the vehicle is idle and the break light comes on. This issue only resolved itself when the vehicle is turned off then back on. It is extremelyalarming and could cause an accident.

The brakes on my vehicle has a strange reaction when i brake at times and is hesitant to stop. It doesn't happen often but it's scary. Usually after i stop the vehicle, cut it off & crank it again the problem goes away only to do it again on a later date. After going online i find that many others have experienced the same problem with infiniti qx56 & nissan armada's. I'm sure whether or not it's a abs sensor malfunction or what but thankfully it haven't happened while being in heavy traffic because i fear i'll rear end another motorist.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph and depressing the brake pedal, she noticed a vibration in the pedal and the vehicle would not stop. The brake light, vdc and the abs warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure recurred six times while the contact was traveling at different speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer six different times. The technician stated the brake booster and the master vac assembly would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred and resulted in the contact being involved in a crash.the vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,670.

During the first two occurrences, while attempting to engage the brake pedal to slow down, the brakes appeared to "open up" causing the vehicle to thrust forward in a sliding motion instead of coming to a halt.while repeatedly pumping the brake pedal, the braking system appeared extremely "loose" and the brakes would appear to engage and quickly disengage.the span of breaking for each occurrence lasted about 200-300 feet before the vehicle would eventually come to a complete stop.following both occurrences, the vehicle was turned off and the brakes appeared to work properly after restarting the vehicle.during the third occurrence, the exact incidence described above occurred when trying to bring the vehicle to a complete stop; however, the span of breaking lasted about 400 feet.while constantly pumping the brake pedal to gain control of the vehicle, the brakes went from being extremely "loose" and going to the floor to becoming extremely hard and not engaging at all.the brake pedal appeared to have locked and no pressure could be applied to the pedal.once the pedal locked, the vehicle came to a gradually slow stall and eventually stopped without the ability of applying the brakes.as with the previous two occurrences, the braking system would appear to operate properly after restarting the vehicle.

When attempting to stop two times in the past few months the brakes suddenly fail allowing us no ability to stop the car almost causing a serious wreck. The brake pedal goes all the way to the floor with the brake light (not abs) illuminated on the dash. Even though nissan consumer affairs is aware of this problem they are not being accountable or held responsible for this serious car defect. According to the class action law suit (where there are many others reporting the same problem) the problem is with the active brake booster and vdc control unit. They recommend for me to pay 2-3000 dollars to have the car fixed for a manufacturing defect. Given the severity of this defect in the core brake system across both nissan and infiniti cars and the fact this was taken to court there should be a recall for a failing brake system.

The brakes on my 2008 infiniti qx56 failed at an intersection today, causing me to go through a stop sign at an intersection.the brake pedal went to the floor and a sporadic grinding noise was heard and felt in the brake pedal.the brake indicator light was illuminated in the instrument cluster.the vehicle coasted to a stop.i pumped the brakes, but had no brake pressure.i put the vehicle in park, then turned it off.when i restarted the vehicle, the brake indicator light was no longer illuminated, and the brakes appeared to be working again.i immediately took the vehicle to my infiniti dealer since this is my primary form of transportation and i have 3 young children.the dealer informed me that the fault code indicated my vehicle had a faulty brake booster, which would need to be replaced for approx. $1000 (parts and labor).they informed me that although they had seen multiple qx56's with this problem come into their dealership, nissan did not have a recall in place.i find this to be unacceptable.i am lucky none of my 3 children were in the car with me at the time, and that no accident resulted from my brake failure.

Brake light comes on with a grinding sound and brakes fail to hold. Occasionally, slv light illuminates. Some days,it happens very frequently. Rotors and brake pads are new, but the problem still persists.

I applied brakes with plenty of lead time but the qx56 failed to brake causing me to rear end another suv; i did minimal damage to the other car but damaged my radiator/front-bumper/hood.i had a similar abs issue about a week before as described by many for the 2004-2006 nissan/infinity recall but i didn't research that recall until this current accident.my airbags did not go off.on initially breaking it sounded like the abs was going to kick in but the car kept moving forward with none of the normal pulsing action that would normally be felt with abs and no reduction in speed as the brake pedal was fully depressed.

My wife was driving her 2008 qx56 and when she tried to brake her foot went to the floor and she heard a grinding noise, she pumped and pumped the brakes but did not notice any measurable slowing down of the vehicle.fortunately there was no one in front of her and she was evenatually able to safely pull into a parking lot and stop the vehicle.upon my research this appears to be a know defect.the dealership where i took the car, diagnosed it as a delta stroke sensor defect.upon researching this there appears to have been a class action suit against nissan/infinitie that the plaintiffs won.if this is a know defect why hasn't there been a recall?my wife could have been seriously injured or killed or she could have injured or killed someone else due to the catastophic loss of brakes.this is not a wear and tear issue and their is no warning that it will happen. You just lose the brakes and the ability to stop. There needs to be a recall before someone dies (if they have not already).

Just purchased a used 2008 qx56 with 118,000 miles. 2 incidents: while coming to a stop, brakes failed and brake light came on. Dealer says low brake fluid so they filled and all seemed fine. 3 days later, coming to a stop traveling less than 30 mph same thing. The defect continued as i made my way to my house a block away.i can see why this issue would cause an accident and the issue in no way felt like a pin causing an issue with the pedal and bracket as described in recall listed. Vehicle being towed by dealer to determine cause but from reviewing all the complaints here, there seems to be 2 common themes: a brake defect and nissan not figuring it out.

I was driving down the road when my brakes started to skip. I stop my vehicle and put the vehicle in park and then put it back in drive then i was able to drive again as normal. It happen three more times after that. It's very dangerous for this kind of issue to occur in travel while driving at any rate of speed. I need this issue looked at by the dealer ship at their expense.

2008 infinity qx56 brake failure while driving.on june 30, 2011, while driving the car and turning into a subdivision and trying to apply the breaks, a loud screeching sound was heard and the brakes filed and the brake warning light came on.after pumping the brakes several times they finally worked.this was a day after the car would not in a parking lot because the battery was dead.we hadaaa jump start the car and were informed the battery needed to be replaced.not sure if this is related or not.took vehicle to dealership and they could not find an issue.the computer did not register the brake light coming on so they had no more information.we found a post on the armada forum club (http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20102&page=3) outlining several people who have had similar issues and nissan still fails to take action on this.my wife was traveling with out 3 children and we are lucky she did not need to stop suddenly when this occurred.thee dealership is going to do research but something should be done by the manufacturer.

Multiple incidents (3) of braking issues where vehicle loses braking ability however, it feels as though the abs brakes are engaging.all three times the vehicle is moving at or about 40 mph or less and decelerating so i have been able to come to a safe stop.however, i do have to push the brake pedal nearly to the floor and the "brake" warning light also comes on. .when i turn the vehicle off, it resets and i do not have any other issues immediately.the third time (today) 12/12/11, i took the truck to dealer and they, at first, said they were not able to find anything wrong with the vehicle.then upon further investigation they claim it's a sensor that will cost $1700 to replace.discussion threadsi have read online (from as far back as 2004 until the present) have shown this to be a continuing problem on nissan armada's (the parent company of infiniti) and the qx56's from models 2004 to the present and nissan continues to ignore the problem.some have even had complete brake failure and accidents.i will take my research to the dealer tomorrow and fight to have my problem taken care of pro bono or i may continue to drive it because i cannot afford $1700 which hopefully will not lead to a worse problem down the road.this needs immediate attention.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. While attempting to make a left turn at speeds of 7 mph, a vehicle crashed into the rear passenger side wheel of his vehicle. He depressed the brake pedal but the brakes would not engage. The contact sustained a minor injury to his wrist. A police report was filed. A local mechanic repaired the wheel, axle, frame and passenger side door. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 10v072000 regarding service brakes (hydraulic: pedals and linkages) and stated that the failure was directly related to the recall.the failure and current mileages were 44,000. The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds when encountered a ditch in the road, the rear of the vehicle swayed and the steering wheel vigorously shook. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where there was no diagnosis or repair completed. The manufacturer was made aware and stated they would send an investigator to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56.while driving 40 mph and above, the vehicle shakes and the steering wheel shimmies when it crosses over abnormalities in the road.the vehicle has been taken to a dealer approximately five times, but with no resolution.the vin was unknown.the current mileage was 14,000 and failure mileage was 80.

The 2008 infinity qx56 has suspension and steering flaws that are very dangerous and may lead to a crash. Car drives and handles fine but over any road imperfection the steering wheel shimmies and shakes and feels like you are about to lose control. Steering wheel must be held by two hands and even then feels like rear end is jumping and about to separate from front end. I replaced shocks and various other suspension items and had an alignment but there's something wrong with the way this car handles. Also feels like steering column is about to break off the vehicle. I updated and replaced all sway bar links, tie rods, control arms, steering bushings and other suspension bushings and nothing is helping address the unsteady feel of steering. If i will not hold steering wheel tight with both hands, i will lose control.after spending $4 thousand on updating all suspension components i'm getting rid of my car because i feel its unsafe.

Rear self- leveling suspension system not working, causing the qx56 to loose control on the highway bumps! (scary drive).

When driving at highway speeds, if i drive over any kind of bump, or groove in the road the back end of the vehicle bounces and sways and i have to grip the steering wheel extra tight and hope that i don't lose control of the car.the same thing happens when i go over bumps at slower speeds but it doesn't sway from side to side, just bounces up and down.i feel extremely unsafe driving this vehicle as i never feel like i am fully in control due to the bouncing/swaying!!we have replaced the shocks and it has not helped.

Center upper console behind driver came crashing down while vehicle was in motion. This is very large and stretches entire back of vehicle. Lucky my kids weren't back there.

The air flow panel on my dash has melted and is causing air flow problems. I feel it is unsafe to run hot air in the winter to defrost the front windshield and when i do run it the flow is some what blocked.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. While driving 45 mph, the console behind the sun roof fell and was only supported by the wires. The contact stated that the console's independent detachment from the vehicle was cause for concern and hindered the view of the rear window. The contact stated that the console was held together by hand while driving to prevent further damage and obstruction of view. Infiniti of gwinnette (3090 satellite blvd, duluth, georgia 30096) was made aware of the failure and diagnosed that the center console fractured and fell off of its hinges. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,900.
