The light stay lit like there is a problem when i speak with nissan and infinity they states their is no recall.

My airbag light stays on constantly. There is a knocking sound that occurs as well when i'm driving. I'm concerned if i'm involved in a collision my airbags will not deploy. I contacted infiniti and was told they need to reset it and will cost $800.00 and my extended warranty did not cover it and was not part of the recall list. The ipdm ecm relay switch causes my instrument cluster gauge to go in and out, the check engine light comes on, my truck jerks trying to switch gears, it will sometimes start up after several tries, it causes the rpm's to read over 7 when i'm only driving 60 mph. It should read between 2 and 3 rpm's. I'm constantly switching the ecm relay plugs to start my truck. The air bag and ipdm ecm relay was not covered under my extended warranty when i purchased my vehicle. This has been going on since i purchased it 4years ago.

I was driving in the city then suddenly the airbag passenger side turn on with flashing inter mitt then i take it to the dealer and they rest it,after one week the air bag get on again , i am now scareto drive the suv because i have a 3 children s and i need to help me with this problem for the safety of my children.thanks[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Repeated attempts to fix airbag after several hundred dollars of owner expenses have not resolved the problem.latest estimate is another 1200 to fix a harness that was previously undiagnosed.

This letter is in reference to a previous complaint filed with infiniti consumer affairs on december 3, 2009, regarding my vehicle shutting completely down, stalled out, not moving in the drive or reverse position at a busy intersection on a rainy stormy evening. This occurrence could have caused a serious accident or worse, a fatality. As a result of police assistance and having my vehicle towed directly to the dealership, to date there are no mechanical issues found by the dealer related to my vehicle shutting down at the intersection. My complaint contains additional serious vehicle issues regarding my headlights, instrument cluster/panel, and the fuse box under the hood. Both headlights on my vehicle suddenly stopped working at the same time. The bulbs were replaced and the headlight fuses were found to be functioning. The instrument panel/cluster light blinks constantly as i drive and the panel/cluster gauges are completely not functioning properly. Fuses have been checked under the vehicle?s hood and results indicate some of the 10 amp fuses are not functioning at all.i am concerned that there should have been a safety recall regarding my 2005 infiniti qx 56, which appears to jeopardize my safety. There are no legitimate answers or explanations as to why my vehicle?s headlights are not working, the cluster/panel has malfunctioned, or why some fuses underneath my vehicle?s hood are not functioning. As a result of my vehicle?s expired warranty and mechanical failures, i have consumed a great deal of out-of-pocket expenses, including a traffic citation regarding my headlights. I am limited and inconvenienced to driving my vehicle at night as a result of my inoperable headlights which can cause me great harm. I am requesting that my situation be given serious immediate attention and resolution. Updated 01/21/15

While driving in residential/business area my vehicle completely lost power and turned off.i drifted to the side of the road without power steering. Tried to start vehicle again. Vehicle would start but would immediately die-would not idle. After resting approx 5 minutes i was able to start again and continue home. This has happened 3 times in the past 2 months. I am terrified to drive this vehicle again.i also cannot keep the drivers side headlight working. Bulbs constantly blow out at over 300.00 dollars each.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. While driving at 65 mph, the vehicle shut off due to low fuel. The contact mentioned that the low fuel warning light failed to illuminate. The vehicle was refueled and the vehicle functioned as normal. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.updated 6/22/15

The vehicle will lose power to the brakes while driving intermittently.when problem occurs you will lose power steering and pressure to braking system.also the driver hid headlamp gets moisture in it whenever it rains.i have had to replace the hid bulb about 6 times in the past year.also there seems to be an electrical issue with the onboard computer that causes the tachometer to not work or read correctly.

While driving on the freeway i noticed that the tachometer continued rising instead of going up and down with the speed. By the time i got home the gauge was facing straight down, stuck in that position. I turned the car off and on to see if it would change the gauge, but nothing happened. Next i put the can in park, set the parking brake and hit the accelerator and the gauge began to slowly move backwards, after doing this a few times the gauge moved back around slowly. After doing this 5 times the gauge is just to the left of the red area. No problems with the battery, it is only 4months old. The transmission felt as though it was shifting properly, and there is not a check engine light on or any other problems besides the gauge.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. While traveling 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was merged to the side of the road, where it was restarted. The contact also indicated that upon restarting the vehicle, it would not go over a speed of 40 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for further inspection and diagnosis. The contact was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 10v517000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

2005 infiniti qx56. Consumer states problem with vehicle stalling *tgwthe consumer stated while driving on the interstate at 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly slowed down to 5 mph then to a full stop.the vehicle was taken to the dealer the next day. After an inspection of the vehicle, the dealer informed the consumer, the throttle body motor actuator needed to be replaced. The part was installed. However, the vehicle stalled to a halt again. The consumer returned to the dealer and was informed the part was defective and he would be charged for the labor to install the new part. Two weeks later, the vehicle stalled again. The consumer was told the fuse box cover was missing and when the fuses became wet, they became corroded. The consumer stated the problem was never the fuse box, because the last time he was at the dealership, no one opened the hood.the consumer then discovered the horn was not working, which was fine prior to going to the dealer. The consumer discovered the horn was wet and once he wiped off the water, the horn began to work again.after about a week and half later, the vehicle stalled again. The consumer went to another establishment and was informed the motor needed to be replaced.

A 2005 infinity qx56 was being driven at 35 mph on a two lane road when the automatic transmission cooler ruptured inside the radiator releasing the atf fluid into the radiator. The transmission was losingatf through the radiator's pressure relief points an lost the ability to propel the car within one block. The car was driven into a nearby drive and was unable to move after that point. The rupture could have lead to a crash situation. The second part of incident is the coolant contaminated the transmission and caused a short term friction material failure 4 months later. The radiator was replaced and transmission cleaned and flushed. The transmission worked until august 20, 2013. The transmission lost contact with 5th band at 60 mphon a interstate and was no longer propelling the car. A shift into the 4th band got the car off the road and it was towed for repair. The antifreeze had dissolved the friction material construction and corroded valve parts. It was rebuilt and the destruction confirmed. Both incidents could easily have caused a crash. Infinity sent us no warningand say there is no problem or recall. The repair shop has repaired 5 other infinity qx56 cars for the same failures before my car was repaired. Nissan n. America has similar failures in the pathfinder model,as confirmed by two independent transmission repair shops contacted. A warning: if coolant drips are noticed under the radiator check the automatic transmission cooling line connections at the bottom of the radiator, if the are wet and or leaking coolant, have the car towed to a shop and checked for problem. Catching this problem at this point may only require the radiator to be replaced, and no crash hazard.

Left headlamp has condensation collecting and high beam was not functioning. Bought a replacement bulb and found this not to be the problem. "box" located in the headlamp that is square and hard plastic has water inside this. Part was looked up and found to be >$300 to replace. Is there a recall on this particular issue. The right headlamp is working fine and has no condensation.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. While driving approximately 60 mph the vehicle stalled on freeway. He stated the gas gauge read more than a quarter tank. He coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. He added 1 gallon of gas and the vehicle started ok.the failure happen again and he again ran out of gas. He stated on the way to the dealer the vehicle stalled and he had to get the vehicle towed to the dealer.he was advised that the fuel pump relay system failed and that the vehicle was not part of the recall. I have a 2005 infinity qx56 and recently the vehicle has stalled out while on the freeway because of the running out of gas when the fuel gauge is showing over a 1/4 tank still remaining. Contacted infinity and informed them of nhtsa campaign id number: 10v074000 which says "the instrument panel fuel gauge may inaccurately display that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank is empty" although my vehicle matches identically to the proper make model andyear of the recall they state that my vin is not included with the recall. I do believe this is a major safety issue since my wife was accelerating onto the freeway recently in front of a semi truck when the vehicle stalled out and the semi had to take evasive maneuvers into another lane of traffic which almost caused a serious crash on interstate-94.

I was driving on a very busy street going about 45mph and without warning my car lost power. I tried to accelerate but it did not work and then i tried braking and then i knew i was in trouble. The car did not respond at all, so i pulled off to a side street where the car actually rolled to a stop. I could barley turn the steering wheel. I had to have the car towed to a nissan dealership. I find out today after a little research there was a recall # 10v074000 on this year and model but it's vin # specific. Meaning that my vinwas not included. So now i'm stuck with a bill for 969 bucks for this exact recall!nissan wont be getting my business anymore, my life and safety is way to precious !!!!!! no recourse what so ever! ugh.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph the vehicle stalled. The contact noticed the vehicle had run out of gasoline fuel. The contact was unable to determine the fuel level because the fuel gauge functioned erratically. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.

I am having an issue with the fuel gauge on my 2005 infiniti qx56. The fuel gauge is not reading correctly.it stops reading correctly once it reaches about half a tank of gas.i was driving on the freeway at night and i ran out of gas.this was a very scary situation because i had my kids in the car with me and at the time i had no idea why the vehicle completely shut off because my meter was showing that i had half a tank of gas.i took the vehicle to a mechanic the next day and he was able to tell me after a few days of me taking it by the shop to get a reading, that their was a problem with the fuel gauge reading which meant that the tank would have to be dropped to fix the problem.i later read up of common issues with the vehicle and saw that this was a common issue and that there was a recall for the same issue.i contacted my local dealership and i was told that their was no recall for my vehicle.this is a very serious issue and it could have caused a serious accident.i would like for my vehicle to be added to the recall list so that this problem can be taken care of since there are several vehicles with the same make and model with the exact same issue.

Fuel gauge shows 1/4 tank but it is empty.this caused the vehicle to stall on the highway.very dangerous situation could have occurred.was able to find safety beside the highway but thankful it did not happen in the middle of a busy highway.

I am having brake issues with my 2005 infiniti qx56.the brake light keeps coming on and it makes a grinding noise.it is also very hard to get it to come to a stop.just yesterday, i almost could not get the vehicle to stop at a red light. I am also having an issue with the fuel gauge.i have run out of fuel 3 times and each time the the gauge is showing between 1/2 and 1/4 full.back in september of 2017 we were on a major highway.all of a sudden we lost power and we were going 70 miles an hour.we were in the passing lane and we lucky to get over to the side of the road.we were almost in a severe accident.i have researched both issues online.i know that there have been recalls on these issues.when i called infiniti about this, i was told that there was in fact recalls but my vehicle was not on the recall list.obviously, if i am having issues with both of the things and there have been recalls on both of them, my vehicle should be on this recall list.isomething needs to be done about this before people are severely injured or worse.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same failure that was listed in the recall consequence. The failure mileage was 134,000. The vin was not available.

I was told the vehicle can not have recall performed because it had an aftermarket fuel pump. My dad gave me the vehicle before he past so i'm not sure if some one else has worked on vehicle. The vehicle is causing gas problems that are unsafe. I was told by the dealer to buy a new one put it in then have them do a recall. Please help.

Fuel gauge indicate 1/4 tank during my drive down the freeway during slight rush hour.car engine shut off while i was in the third lane of the freeway.an accident occurred from rubber necking.infiniti of elk grove couldn't diagnose it right away and the car died 2 more times, once more on the freeway, and was lucky to glide off the freeway with no power steering.after having it towed 3 times to infiniti, they finally diagnosed the fuel sensor after we researched the problem and told them what to check.checked all recalls and this was listed as a problem but infiniti refuse to cover this defect.after owning a qx56, fx35 and g35, the rudeness of the repair manager left a really bad taste.

In my 2005 infiniti qx56 the door handle gets stuck when it is cold (around or below 15 degrees). The door seems like it is closed but it is not and during tuns it swing opens. I had to tie it with whatever i had available to the seat to be able to drive back home. Searching online, i found that it is a common problem with infiniti and nissan and there are no recalls for it and the dealer charges around $300-$500 to fix this. Which is very unfair. I am requesting you to please expose this issue so nissan fixes this.

A 2005 infinity qx56 was being driven at 50 mph on a highway when the automatic transmission cooler hose rupturedreleasing the atf fluid. The transmission was losing atf . Lost the ability to propel the car. At that time i had my wife and 2 young children in the car. The car was driven into a nearby shopping plaza parking lot and was unable to move after that point. The rupture could have lead to a crash situation. The incident caused a short term friction material failure week later. The hosewas replaced and transmission cleaned and flushed. The transmission worked until june 3 , 2014. The transmission would not shift to 4th gearat 55 mph on a interstate, had to pull over and tow the car to the mechanic shop, where i was toldthat transmission has to be replaced or totally rebuild.....both incidents could easily have caused a crash.

My wife drove the vehicle to and from work with no visible problem and parked it in the drive. The next day i was able to back out of the driveway but when i put the vehicle in drive i noticed that the ats light is on and it is struggling to move forward. The manual says to take the vehicle to a dealer if the ats light is on so i had aaa flat bed it to my local infiniti dealer. After checking the vehicle i was told by the dealer that i needed to replace a leaking radiator and the transmission at a cost of almost $5,000.00 since my vehicle was a few months out of warranty even thought i was under the mileage limit of 70k. I took it to an independent transmission repair shop and was informed that this is a very common and well known defect with nissan/infiniti suv's where a defective radiator can cause the transmission fluid and coolant to mix and ruin the transmission. A quick search on googleconfirmed that there is in fact numerous complaints about this issue. I filed a complaint with infiniti usa and was told that since my vehicle is no longer under warranty there is nothing they could or would do about the situation. The vehicle is currently in the transmission repair shop getting the necessary repairs done.

When car stop on stop sign, ready to go, brief a moment it hold a car & then go. I have been taking to a dealer for fix ,they couldn't fix or they couldn't find a problem.seems to me either the transmission or fuel relate problem.my car is infiniti qx56.please look in to this problem.

While driving my 2005 infiniti qx56 i noticed i have to press down harder on my brakes to come to a stop. At one point the brakes go all the way to the floor and the brake light illuminates. I know i don't need brake pads because they were replaced 2 months ago.i have also had my brake booster assembly replaced so i know it is not that. I don't know what to do because i keep having issues with this vehicle.

When driving, the brake light comes on for no reason and causes the brakes to work inappropriately. It becomes very hard to brake. The brakes seem to fall through and there is a grinding sound from the brakes. If i turn the vehicle off, and then back on it works fine. Then it happens again sparatically.

Random instances of brake light coming onfollowed by limited braking, shuttering and pulsing of the brake pedal. A common and known issue affecting qx56, armadas and titans from the mid 2000's that nissan refuses to acknowledge. A serious safety concern that needs to be addressed.

Brake problem usually occurs after a turn when accelerating to about 20 to 30 mph. Steering wheel began to vibrate when pressure is applied to the brakes, brake dash lights comes on and the brake pedal pulsates and goes all the way to the floor. Sounds also are heard from the front brakes (rubbing and grinding). The vehicle will barely stop when this happens. Thank god we are not going at a high rate of speed when this occurs, if so, we would not be able to stop the truck in time. Problem always stops after we pull over and put the vehicle in park and turn the engine off. This has occurred on many occasions with recently several incidents in one week, otherwise it happens about once a month. We are afraid that the problem is getting worse and may lead to an accident. We love the vehicle but just want the repairs made before something happens. Also, the airbag light recently came on as well. Question; are there recalls on these problems?

Brake shudder - severely reduced braking power. Brake light comes on dash. This is random. Happened twice more on way to work, approximately 50 mph,on i-40 exit ramp and 30 mph on a side road.turning off vehicle and back on resets this. But it randomly happens again.i am fearful in this vehicle. I called dealer and they said they are unaware of issue.a google search reveals a class action lawsuit on this subject.

The brakes make a grinding noise and the car sounds as if the brakes are going out.i also have had the vdc light and brake light on as well during all this.and when it happens it keeps happening till you turn the car off and on and then it goes away.but has happened at least 15 to 20 times and seems to be happening more and more.quite scary when you have a family and your on the interstate and you have to turn the car off and on for it to go away.

I have a 2005 qx56. This loss of brake happens to me many time, brake light will come on while driving and if you push the brake you will hear a loud grinding noise, and pedal goes to the floor. Turn off engine and start it again it will be good again, its intermittent, you don't know when will it happen, so i always look on my dash for the brake light while driving so i know that its doing it again.i was told it was the brake booster.very unsafe!there needs to be a recall.

50000 miles on it at moment and for the last 3 years my infiniti looses brake power. Last week i almost ran on a vehicle with my 6 month old son riding with me. Once the vehicle comes to complete stop after a while and once the engine is turned off and restarted the problem goes away. When it happens theres a huge grinding noise and brake pedal shakes very badly as if theres no brake on the car. Above all the vehicle has all good brakes. The brake light comes on too when this happens . As mentioned once engine is turned off and restarted everything woeks normal. I googled online and so many people with similar models have these issues. Most important the dealer doesnt ackwoleges it and says there no recall . I beleive they waiting once someonr does before they will take action.i hope some action can be taken about his killing matter.

Driving 30 mph in manhattan new york came to a red light pressed brake pedal felt no brakes pumped brakes felt like there was little to no braking abs light came on so did brake light ran through the red thank god no cars where i front of me ,eventually stopped pulled aside then turned vehicle off and then on the brakes worked fine took it to straight to mechanic because i didn't feel safe driving the truck . He said everything looked fine your brake pads rotors fluid levels and tires are in good condition he connects his scan tool and said he didn't find any codes.i told him to keep the car drive it until he could figure out the problem 1 week after he callsme and said he was driving about 25 mph in brooklyn new york and the brake light abs light came on then he had no brakes told me 'it felt as if he was driving on ice 'he then scanned the car when he got back to the shop and said it had a code dtc c1179 advised me to take it to infiniti to get it diagnosed because it's a serious and potentiallydeadlyproblem.called infiniti north america hotline and was told there were no recalls for this serious problems they told me take it to the dealership to have them service the car so now i have to drive a car with brake maybe working or maybe not working to have the dealership potentially overcharge me to fix a manufacturers defect that they know about i'm happythat i was in brooklyn driving only 25 -30 per without my children in the car.i live in jersey and normally on the highway driving (50-65 depending on posted speed limits if this brake problem happened omg .i read up on the code and found numerous vehicles compliants about this dangerous brake problem. C1179 delta stroke sensor nissan titan. Nissan armada and infiniti qx56 2004 - aprox 2010they need to issue a recall to make these vehicles safe to drive

After driving in stop and go traffic, slow speed with many stops, the brake pedal loses power and begins to pulsate. When this happens, the emergency brake light illuminates on the dashboard. Turming the vehicle on/off seems to reset the car and the issue is resloved.

When applying the brakes, the brake pedal was soft and the front tires had grinding and chattering noises like a abs brake system malfunction. The care would not stop very well. The vehicle was going slow on dry pavement so there was not reason forabs to activate.continued to have this problem each of the dozen times i applied the brakes until i pulled into a costco parking lot. One of their mechanics drove the car and noticed the problem, but when we inspected it, it had nothing to do with the tire balancing that was just performed on the vehicle. I shut the vehicle off and turned it back on and the brakes worked normally. This has happened while my wife has driven the vehicle about 10 times in the last 4 years, but this was the first time it's happened with me when driving. Very dangerous.the description sited in the class action lawsuit fully describes my experience.http://www.courthousenews.com/2011/04/27/nissan.pdfalso, this cases on this site are all people with the same issue:http://www.topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/1154-nissan-armada-a-titan-truck-infinity-qx56-class-action-lawsuit/.

Slip brake alert lighted on the dashboard followed by grinding brake noise and vehicle stopped. This happened multiple times and the scary thing is, i always have my whole family in this suv every weekend.

I have a 2005 nissan infinity qx56 and had the brake light come on yesterday followed by the limited braking, shuttering and pulsing of the brake pedal.. Almost hit a car. Maybe because of faulty and defective delta stroke sensor.

Every once in a while, seemingly after slow driving where there are many stop signs not too far apart, the brake light comes on, the brake pedal weakens and brake system makes a rattling noise when the pedal is pressed. Then i turn off the vehicle and restart it and all is back to normal until the next time, can be days or sometimes weeks.

I am having problems with my brake light coming on, and the brakes are grinding and scrubbing everytime i place my feet on the brake.

While driving the brake light comes on and then the brakes start grabbing the rotors. I have to stop cut the car offthen restart the vehicle to reset the brake lightit has happen at least 10 times. Dealership kept the car for 3 weeks sill couldn't fix the problem dangerousfor me and my family.......

Randomly, i will step on the brakes and the brakes begin to pulsate. Then it sounds like grinding sound and the brake pedal loses pressure. Almost like it hit a void and dropped to the floor. I had to try and slow down vehicle to come to a stop. Calipers and pads were all changed, per dealer findings. And it continued. I do not go over 40 mph for fear of this happening again. It's clearly and unsafe situation and the dealer claims they only hear this when people have back brakes. Guess what, i brought it to another infiniti service center, and they said the same thing even thought the other service center replaced just about everything. Another mechanic, from the service center, took me aside and said this is frequently happening with this model and it is a master cylinder issue from design. Come on infiniti, fix this!

Brake problem usually occurs when driving at different speeds, even when backing-up. Steering wheel began to vibrate when pressure is applied to the brake pedal, brake dash lights comes on and the brake pedal pulsates and goes all the way down, you can hear sound from the front brakes, rubbing and grinding like it needs new brake pads the vehicle feels like it has no brakes and is hard to stop. This occurred on many occasions, we only use this sub on the weekends is our family car and sometimes it happens every weekend, the problem can be fix temporarily by stoping the vehicle put it on park turn-off the engine remove the key, turned back-on and it resets the brake system. But this problem has created to many incidents were accidents were barely avoid, we are afraid to drive the vehicle because is very scary when it happens and it may lead to an accident with the hole family. We just want infiniti/nissan to make this an immediate recall to prevent further tragedy do to the danger of this malfunction and complaints that i am sure people are posting every day to the infiniti dealers and to nhtsa. Thank you for you concern.

While driving ,i pressed on the brakes and the pedal dropped down and started making a weird noise kind of like loose metal parts and the truck wouldn't stop. The abs light turned on. It felt like the brakes locked up . I managed to pull to the side of the road and shut the truck off. I turned it back on and it seemed to reset the system. Brake petal raised back up and the check engine lightshut off.

Brake problems occurring every 50-60 miles while driving. Horrible grinding noise on the brakes is first heard and then there is loss of brake capacity. As this happens, the red brake light illuminates on the dash panel. The only way to regain control of the brakes is to steer the car to the side of the road, turn the car off and then on. Once the car restarts, only then can the breaks fully work. This has nearly caused me three accidents on the highway.

I have infiniti qx56 2005, brake doesn't work while driving, same issue more than 10 times since i purchased new car, infiniti consumer affairs trying to concealthis issue.

I have infiniti qx56 2005, i had brake system complaint couple of times(back 2006~2007)since, dealer take care my car_ i didn't have any technical issue until this month, but, april on this month i have 3 time experience my brake was not working i almost kill my 2 kids and wife._just remind me back in 2006_ i had same problem. All i can do turn off the engine and restart_then it go back to normal. So, today i drop my car at the infiniti tustin dealer talk to melissa at service dept. She saw same as my problem before i was surprised she said to me why not company recall this issue?now, dealer ask me to pay $1,000.00 for change brake booster on my car.which is they ready know problems. I want to infiniti need to report this issue to public also, fully fix my car and it should be extended warrantysame problem in future.

Intermittently in the past few months my infiniti q56's brakes have been becoming soft and grinding when trying to stop. The brake light and the slip light also come on when this happens. When i stop the vehicle and turn off the motor, remove the key and then restart it will reset the brakes and they will go back to normal. In the past week this happens almost everytime i drive it. It is very scary when this happens and i am afraid that i will not be able to stop. I have had the brakes checked and everything is good. I took it to the dealer and told them what was going on and they said immediately that it was the brake booster. They must be seeing this problem on a regular basis because they didn't even have to look at the vehicle to tell me what it was. I looked online and saw that alot of people are talking about this same problem with their q56's and nissan armadas. I feel that this is a major safety issue with this vehicle and the company should be recalling the vehicles and fixing them. This isn't a maintenance issue, its a component failure.

Brakes become mushy during application with a lose of about 50-75% of their power. Brake lights on the dash light up. Cars antilock brakes are activated. Car is very delayed in braking even at slow speeds. The problem is resolved after the car comes to a complete stop, is placed in park, and turned off then back on. The problem has occurred only once; almost causing a wreck at a traffic light. I was able to quickly move into an adjacent lane to avoid a collision.the problem was thought to be a delta sensor and brake booster. The dealership was not positive this was the correct fix, but they claimed to have flashed several other delta sensors in an attempt to correct the issue.the problem has not been resolved. The delta sensor was found to be faulty according to the dealer. The part would have to be ordered and replaced at another time.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. The contact stated that the brakes failed shortly after the vehicle was purchased. The dealer repaired the brakes but the failure occurred again two years later. The abs light illuminated and the contact turned the vehicle off and back on. The dealer stated that the main computer system that signaled the brakes was the cause of the failure; they also stated that they could not repair the vehicle because it was out of warranty. The failure mileage was 87,000 and the current mileage was 103,000.

Vehicle was purchased used in december 2009. Started noticing brake squealing & grinding, front & rear brakes had to be replaced in february 2012. After brakes were replaced there was an incident backing out of a driveway while braking, had only 20% brakes with loud grinding noise, but no warning lights came on. Decided to replace rotors after that incident in march 2012. On april 9th while leaving a grocery store parking lot going approx.15mph, emergency brake like came on, 95% of brakes were lost, loud grinding noise when trying to brake. Car put into park & turned off. When truck was turned back on & brake pedal depressed while in park position, brakes seemed normal again. Put truck into drive & seconds later the emergency brake light came back on & 95% of braking system was lost again with loud grinding noise. Coasted vehicle home (less than 1/4 mile). Had vehicle towed to infiniti dealer who is recommending replacing the brake booster system at a cost of $1,100. After much research on this issue, replacing the brake booster system sounds like a temporary fix. With a family of 7, this is our main family vehicle & knowing this could reoccur at any moment even after the brake booster system is replaced is very unsettling. The infiniti dealer is claiming they never heard of another issue like this & they replaced 3 brake booster systems in 4 years. I find this extremely hard to believe, as i was able to print over 30 pages of reported incidents with this same issue. We meet with the dealer tomorrow to decide if we want to pay to have this fixed. If we knew this would guarantee the issue would be resolved & not at any moment we would lose our brakes, it wouldn't be an issue. This is beyond frustrating & scary. Infiniti should make this an immediate recall to prevent further tragedy & stop telling customers this is the first time hearing of this issue!

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56.while driving 30 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floorboard when it was depressed and the stopping distance increased.the dealer stated that the abs caused the failure and that they would reprogram the computer.as of september 6, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle.the failure and current mileages were 50,000.

Dt: at approximately 2,000 miles there was an uncontrollable shaking when applying brake pressure.this problem got worse.the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, who noted the need for new rotors.the rotors were replaced at 2,000 miles.about two months later, the problem returned and again took vehicleto the dealer.the dealer said there was a design flaw with the braking system, but the vehicle would be safe to drive.the consumer was driving at a low speed and when applying brake pressure there was a horrible sound as if they were grinding.the red brake light illuminated on the dash panel.when this occurred, 75% of braking capacity was lost.the consumer pulled over, and called husband, leaving the vehicle behind for roadside assistance.the vehicle was towed to the dealer for corrections.the dealer felt the braking system was not heavy duty enough for this model.the dealer did some additional work to the brakes. A month later, the problem resurfaced.the vehicle was due for maintenance, and it was taken to the dealer, who suspected the antilock brakes. Malfunctioned.the dealer consulted infiniti to speak to an engineer about the problem and for advice.some corrections were made.later, the same situation occurred with the grinding noise and loss of brake capacity as well as the light .the dealer could not duplicate the problem.

The car steering wheel and car shake violently every 2 to 3 thousand miles, at which time the service department at the infiniti dealership replaces the brakes and resurfaces/replaces the rotors.this is the second time it has happened to us and this is a major safety issue.the stopping distance of this vehicle increases two fold because of the shaking.after reading posts by other owners, i realize the problem was known as early as december 2004 when we purchase the vehicle. The dealership did not disclose any known problems with the vehicle.this vehicle is my wifes' and two children(2 year and 7 month old) primary mode of transportation. I am wondering what recourse do i have regarding this major issue which seems to have been largely ignored by the manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56.thesteering wheel began to shake when depressing the brakes.the failure occurred while driving at 40 mph with favorable road conditions and no visible road hazards.the dealer diagnosed the cause as a manufacturer's defect on the rotors and brake pads , and replaced them.approximately 14 months and 19000 miles later the vehiclehade the same failure.the dealer stated the failure was due to the abov e mentionedmanufacturer'sdefect.the current and failure mileage were 36000.

Inadequate brakeson 2005 qx56.manufacturer is aware of this problem in 2004 but has not issued a recall to date or sent letters to customers about the issue.brakes overheat and prematurely wear out at 2000 to 2500 miles causing a violent shaking of the steering wheel and control issues.infiniti is replacing brakes however 2 to 3 months predicited wait for a real fix. Service advisors are reluctant but have admitted the brake design is inadequate for this vehicle. This vehicle is over 6,000 lbs and has a towing capcity of 9000 lbs. According to the maufacturer.brakes are wearing out without added stress of towing.what happens when i tow a 5000 lb boat in arizona heat of 100 degrees through the mountains?steering wheel vibrates violently when breaks wear out.dealer replaced brakes at 3500 miles at first oil change.infiniti or dealer never mentioned this issue during purchase of vehicle in december 2004.i am very concerned about this vehicle stopping for the passengers and those driving in the proximaty of this vehicle.the consumer affairs department of infiniti suggesed that i call the better business bureau or file a lemon law case for the state of arizona.they said the car has not had enough repairs at this time.i stated that other owners of this vehicle are having brakes replaced at an alarming rate.the edmonds and yahoo websites verify this experience and yet no letters have been sent to owners of the qx56 model.this is a very dangerous situation as it relates to brakes that were not designed approriately for the weight of this vehicle, not to mention the towing capacity that would add more strain on the already poor breaking system.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56.the contact took the vehicle in for inspection and was informed that there was a leak in the steering and brake fluid hoses at 61,000 miles.at 75,000 miles, the air conditioner made a loud noise.when the air conditioner is kept activated, it does not cool properly as it did in the past.the hose failure has been repaired.the vehicle has not been inspected by a mechanic.the current mileage was 75,000 and failure mileage was 61,000.

Driver side front suspension spring completely broken and colapsed leaving the car only supported by the driver absorber shock. The left front end is leaning 2 inches lower than usual. I assume this a hazard and could cause a vehicle to loose control and accidents.

I have a 2005 infiniti qx56. On april 5, 2007 i got on the ramp to the highway and at the entrance of highway suddenly the car's driver size front suspension broke. This sudden mechanical defect caused the car spun out of control at 6:30 pm in afternoon traffic thanit was rear-ended by the car behind which caused 4 car collision.

My 2005 qx56losing power while i'm driving, feels like it wants to shut off, and my check engine is off

While driving straight on interstate i-95 during rush hour at approximately 30 miles/hour, i pressed on the brakes and the pedal dropped down and started making a weird noise (like grinding sound) and the car wouldn't stop. The abs light turned on, check engine light turned on, the pedal lost pressure and the brakes locked up. I ended up in a crash, rear-ending the vehicle in front of me.the car has now been repaired from damages from crash but mechanic found no problem with brake system. Abs sensors, calipers, disks and pads where changed as precaution but problem reappears from time to time and seems to reset when vehicle is turned off and on again (brake petal raised back up, grinding sound disappears and the check engine light and abs light shut off).i visited two infinity dealers and both of them mentioned that it was a recurring problem with this model car and the problem was an issue with the master cylinder's design.

The contact owns a 2005 infiniti qx56. While traveling 15 mph, the vehicle would not accelerate over 15 mph and the rpms would not rise above 2000. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the throttle body would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired yet the failure recurred. The contact stated that the throttle body was replaced twice prior to the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 77,000 and the current mileage was 85,000.
