The contact owns a 2016 infiniti q50. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning light for the front passenger seat failed to illuminate even though the passenger seat was occupied. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). The vehicle was repaired; however, after the recall repair was performed, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15.

The contact owns a 2016 infiniti q50. While at a stop, the vehicle went into economy mode and shut off. The start/on/off warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and taken to infiniti of coconut creek (5501 west sample rd, coconut creek, fl 954-861-6100) and was diagnosed that it was performing as expected. Later, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v476000 (fuel system, gasoline, electrical system). The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and repaired per the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and made a note of the contact's call. The failure mileage was 1,500.

My infiniti q50 will, at random, heavily pull and shift across multiple lanes of traffic. The pulling is worse during acceleration and has had at least three alignments in 2018 in attempt to correct the issue. Infiniti has been unable to fully resolve the pulling and the technician, in his own words, described the vehicle as dramatic and unsafe. Additionally, infiniti has replaced my driver mirror twice in efforts to reduce vibration at highway speeds. While driving at highway speeds, the mirror will vibrate making visibility and use of the driver mirror limited to not usable at all.

We took our car in for its first oil change at a oil lube business and afterward our car's engine seized up about 4 miles down the road, and completely destroyed itself. After investigating, it seems the oil tech may have damaged the oil filter assembly's delicate end tip piece unbeknownst to him. It is inconclusive if he damaged it or broke it off. At a later date this oil lube business gave us an infiniti tbs they got from our infiniti dealership, that they nor i, had ever seen. Also it does not seem to be filed with anyone nor the nhtsa. The tbs claims that this part breaks very easily if not properly handled. Also when our problem was diagnosed by an infiniti tech, he told us this part breaks so often, that they have to keep the item in stock in their parts department. He also said the part was missing from the engine implying that the oil lube business had broken it off, and knowingly put a broken part back in. But per video that was given to us, that is inconclusive. All we see in the video is the oil tech holding the part from the delicate end of the oil filter assembly. Per the infiniti tbs and their tech's own words to us, the problem stems from the first oil change where the filter is very hard to get off the first time. Hence many people tend to over stress the part and the very delicate plastic end tip will get damaged or break off during the oil change. I believe this part is defective and built very weak with a plastic material that can't handle any stress on it. If during an oil change by a diy or another oil lube business like "jiffy lube" who don't know this tbs exists (which we did not because infiniti kept it for their own techs), then there is a potential for the damaged part to be reinserted in the engine where it completely comes off inside and ruins the entire engine. This could be a life threatening hazard on the road if engine comes apart!

Vehicle was stopped at the red light. This vehicle has a stop-start system. When i put my foot off the brake, i showed system failure and did not start the engine. I brought this to inifitni dealer, there was the same recall on different vin. They could not do anything about this safety concern.

The contact owns a 2016 infiniti q50. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked before stalling. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine was faulty. After replacing the engine, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired several times before the engine was replaced. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Seat sensor problem on passenger side, seat belt light on without person seat in, fix many time still come back.

There is a dangerous design/engineering flaw in the infiniti steer-by-wire system and infiniti refuses to even acknowledge it.the car is incapable of driving in a straight line, is constantly drifting to either the right or to the left and requires a steering adjustment every few seconds.on a long drive, on a hwy, this is not only fatiguing in the arms but fatiguing mentally, as well, as the driver can never relax.i've had the car to the dealer 4x and while the service people have privately admitted to me that the problem exists, their consumer affairs people (customer service) claim there is nothing wrong with the car and is performing correctly within its design parameters. Most people don't notice it and even i didn't notice it until i hit a straight-away on an interstate hwy.the dealer did a wheel alignment, just to see if it would help but it did not. The service manager acknowledged that i am not the first person who has noticed the problem but they can't help anybody because infiniti won't even acknowledge the problem exists, so there is nothing that can be fixed.i took the service manager for a ride and proved to him the car drifts. He was amazed. The danger comes in the mental and physical fatigue, plus while in the perfect world we never give anything but 100% perfect concentration to our driving, we can't help it...sometimes our mind wanders or we're distracted.doing that in a car that will not drive in a straight line is extremely dangerous, as the car can veer off very quickly.this is the first complaint like this i have ever filed. In fact, this is my 4th infiniti and until now, they all had perfect steering but now i'm stuck with a 3 year lease in a dangerous steer-by-wire car.at the very least, this should be investigated and the investigator should not be swayed by infiniti telling them thecar meets its design parameters.

The contact owns a 2016 infiniti q50. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the steering wheel turned to the left independently, causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. The contact regained control of the vehicle prior to the engine failure warning light being illuminated. The vehicle was taken to infiniti of ontario located at 2192 inland empire blvd, ontario, ca 91764, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the circuit board for the steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 40,694. *ln

I have complained to infiniti several times throughout the 6 months i've had the vehicle. I noticed after a few weeks of leasing the car that when i steer almost to a 90 degree angle whether it be out of a right or left turn the car loses acceleration. This happens on a daily basis, not every time i turn, but more times than none it loses considerable acceleration which has almost caused a wreck. To me this is a major safety issue. I've never experienced this in an other vehicle i've driven. Infiniti says it's a traction control issue that disengages the throttle when the computer feels the rear wheels will spin out of control. This loss of acceleration happens at low speeds and usually pulling out of a shopping center either right or left. At low speeds this should not be a safety response.

The window regulator assembly is defective on a variety of infiniti q50 models.this is a very common complaint and some dealers are aware of it.this is more frequent on the driver's side from what has been posted online.this initially presents itself as a rattle which can be heard during bass notes with a frequency of 50-100hz.~70hz from my test.the window basically gets off the track and this can cause a safety issue if the window shatters due to a mechanical failure of the window regulator assembly which can potentially put stress on the window.also, this can be very dangerous if the window regulator fails during a day in which the weather involves rain or snow and the driver is unable to roll up their window.i took my car to a infiniti dealer and they stated that the manufacturer only pays them a flat rate to inspect the car so essentially it was not worth their time to inspect it.

Sunroof exploded while driving down the freeway with no vehicles in close distance in front or on the side of me.

While accelerating, the driver switched the vehicle from manual shift mode to automatic. The driver noted a significant increase in measured rpm via the tachometer as if the vehicle "jumped into a lower gear or failed to find a gear." the driver noted that the rear tires lost traction, causing the car to turn towards the left. Shortly after, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed. *dtconsumer stated he was turning into the entrance ramp when the vehicle fish tailed causing it to flip.
