Takata recall - the airbag recall for my 2006 m45 infiniti has been in effect since may 23,2016. Infiniti has not proved the required repairs at this time. The car is not safe.

I received a recall letter from infiniti of america in reference to the takata airbags.this was around may 0f 2016.i contacted infiniti about trying to get a loaner car because i carry passengers in my car and if the car was not safe to drive because of the airbags, thati needed a loaner vehicle.i was informed that i could not get a vehicle and that i should be receiving a call from my local dealership to bring my car in for repairs, that was five months ago.i took my car in for service today (11/09/2016), and was informed by my service advisor my car was up for recall for the airbags, and they did not have the parts for a temporary fix in stock.ibrought my car new in 2006, and to be informed that my car is unsafe 10 years later is a travesty.infiniti should obligated to provide me a loaner car until the airbags can be fixed, and not put the consumer in harms way.

After a very short trip with the car, it would not re-start. The engine cranked but would not start. 2 hours later i was unable to unlock the doors. The keyless remote does nothing, the push buttons on the driver and passenger doors do nothing and the manual key does not unlock the doors either. This is very serious as a passenger locked inside the car would not be able to exit the vehicle. As it is right now i cannot even move the vehicle since i cannot opent the doors or the trunk

Whilst driving on the road going approximately 45mph the car's engine shut off without warning directly in the middle of a busy intersection narrowly making it across without incident, the car completely was off.the car would not start until 4 tries later.i drove the car towards the dealership and the car shut off again at about 50 mph causing no power steering, power brakes or warning - i noticed this when the car had no power or response when depressing the accelerator.i was able to coast safely into the emergency lane andretry to start the car again this time 3 tries started it back up.i then proceeded to call a tow truck and had it towed to the dealer, they inspected the car and said that, one of the "crankshaft position sensors", was bad and replaced it.1 week later the same thing happened again, this time nearly causing an accident when on the highway at 60+ mph, it was like one minute your going 60mph then nothing, you have no acceleration, power brakes or steering, i had to force cars to evade me as i coasted with no power or engine into the emergency lane.had it towed again to the dealer and the problem was again another "crankshaft position sensors", i had them replace them all at $1,100 in total.infiniti/nissan of north america must recall these sensors! they should not be failing and causing these dangerous symptoms, god forbid someone is crossing traffic when the sensors fail and get t-boned and die or get seriously injured.

I was driving my car on interstate at 70mph and engine stalled, all electrical systems shut off, power steering, power brakes, vdc and abs lights came on along with service engine soon.this was a very scary situation at highway speeds.i pulled through traffic and made it to side of highway.the engine was barely idling and running very rough.the car was turned off.i then attempted to re-start vehicle, and it would turn over, but not ignite.after several minutes and several attempts, the car engine started again.i immediately got off the interstate and took less congested roads home.the next day i drove to a car repair shop for computer diagnostic testing of service engine light.they told me the code reported a pair of malfunctioning "cam position sensors".it is inexcusable for a luxury automotive maker to have catastrophic risk exposure to driver, occupants, and other highway travelers due to a sensor failure!i called local infiniti dealership and they immediately recognized my cars problem, and then said my year is not covered under any voluntary service campaign or recall.

I had purchased my m45 2006 infiniti used feb 20,2016 the car drove good everything worked well no problems at all. I did noticed the check engine light came on i took the car back to metro honda which is where i got it from as used. The checked it out the light went off but came back on and stay. July of 2016 is when the car would just lose power cut off while driving etc. The car would take several minutes to start back up. The problem got more hecked because the car cut off one night my children and i was driving right on the middle of the road and a 18 wheeler was behind us i was able to come to a stop safely but was in the middle of the road which was a bridge. I had the car tested it came back as my cam and crank shaft sensor had those replaced not even been 2 weeks and the go still act as if no gas is getting to engine and still cuts off this is unsafe it can cause someone to even be killed. I am so scared to go long distances because i'm scared the car will just loose all power. I took the car to infiniti they couldn't even tell me what the problem was i also looked online and seen at repair pal where there was a recall on the crank shaft and cam sensor as well as fuel pump gas pedal and the recent one of the air bags. As well as a electric problem and all this was. Back in december of 2003 the only thing that was replaced on this car was the gas pedal. Something has to be done infiniti needs to recall all this on the m45 sports 2006 i feel helpless and hopeless because i don't even know if my children and i will get in this car and make it back home alive. Something needs to be done.

I was driving on a main street going 50 miles when my engine complete shut off without warning. Everything locked up, steering and breaks were hard to manage. I was lucky enough to coast to a side street. There was a recall 11/17/2003 -03v45500 it also says included are vehicles involved in 01v357 i called infiniti and they said my vin excluded my car from that recall. It was towed to a repair shop and the diagnostic came back p0304 camshaft position sensor.

In the past couple days my vehicle shuts off without warning while driving. It shut down while coming to a stop at a red light, also while on the highway slowing down for a toll.i put the car in park and restart the car when i try to pull off again it jerks a couple times and then go. Also, after a restart the steering becomes stiff and its much harder to turn the vehicle as if the power steering is affected.the symptoms align with a previous recall (recall 13v430000 engine stall concern).i contacted infiniti consumer affairs, they advised the previous owner had the recall issue repaired about 2 years ago for the previous recall (replace the accelerator pedal assembly and reprogram the engine control module).these current symptoms seem to align with the previous symptoms.

The engine has failed despite frequent oil changes.the mechanic states there is a "rod knock", which is the connection from the piston to the crankshaft.there is clearly a defect with this engine.

This vehicle has a known defect in the engine rings.the defect began when nissan motor company went to a cheaper ring manufacturer. The defective rings cause excessive oil consumption.nissan is fighting claims on a case by case basis as not many units were sold.the cost of a remanufactured engine for this vehicle is $15,500.00.however, even the remanufactured engines are defective as they carry the same defective rings.

The contact owns a 2006 infiniti m45. While driving 40 mph, the the contact attempted to accelerate, the rpms increased, and the vehicle powered down. The failure recurred while driving 10 mph. Whenever the accelerator pedal was depressed, the rpms decreased to zero. The first time the failure occurred the contact attempted to stop the vehicle, but the brakes seized. The contact had to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to infiniti of elk grove (8586 laguna grove dr, elk grove, ca 95757, (916) 287-8017) where it was repaired per an unknown air bag recall. The mechanics did not repair the engine because the vin was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The camshaft position sensor and/or crankshaft position sensor continue to fail even after being replaced with new infiniti/nissan oem parts.almost every time i start the car it will continue to turn over for about 15 seconds then stop.i usually have to go through this process 3 or 4 times and eventually it will start with the slp and vdc lights on, but thats not the scary or dangerous part of it. The dangerous part of this issue is when ive been on the highway with traffic going 70 mph and the engines dies and completely turns off while in the middle lane of a 5 lane highway where i was not able to move over to one shoulder or the other.i came to a complete stop on an urban freeway in the middle lane with traffic traveling at least 70 mph beside me.the highway incidents happened 3 times.the other 2 times i was so paranoid of it happening again that i was in the right lane and just pulled onto the shoulder when the car died.i do not drive on the highway anymore which is a shame because tha''s what that car was made for.other dangerous incidents were car dying as i was entering intersection on a left turn with on coming traffic approaching, car dying at a red after turning green with traffic approaching from behind, car dying when approaching stopped traffic without power brakes.those are a few examples.the car has died many more times in situations that were not as dangerous such as a residential street, etc. Again as i stated earlier that all 3 of my cars sensors have been replace with new oem parts but the problem continues to happen.there are many of the same complaint from other people on the internet so this is obviously not a one off problem with just my car.thank you.

Yesterday my wife was driving with my daughter and two friends when the vehicle stalled and lost all power while driving on a busy road.they were very fortunate to not have caused a serious accident and all were quite frightened by the incident. The vehicle would not restart so they had it towed to a mechanic (i was out of town).today i went to the shop where the vehicle was towed and spoke to the mechanic.we checked it together and it started up like normal so we went for a ride and the car performed normally as well, although several lights are now lighted on the dash (vdc off, slip, ras & check engine).searching nicoclub and other forums including this site, it seems this is not an uncommon problem. This could cause serious injuries and even death so owners should be notified of this possibility.

Faulty fuel system component with prior dealer warranty, check engine light noted it is bad fuel evaporator. In motion indicator light went on.driver seat loose, piece in slowerstructure needed to be welded because seat had play and went back and forth. In motion

I was driving on a main street going 50 miles when my engine complete shut off without warning. Everything locked up, steering and breaks were hard to manage. When braking the car pulls either direction hard also weaves side to side when driving at any speed or if u hit a bump the steering wheel yanks hard to the side. Also when stopped with car n drive and foot on brakes the car will surge forward hard like its going togo on its own.

Faulty fuel system component with prior dealer warranty, check engine light noted it is bad fuel evaporator. In motion indicator light went on.driver seat loose, piece in slowerstructure needed to be welded because seat had play and went back and forth. In motion

When stationary at a parking spot, i got into my car, and the car seat made a cracking noise as it went straight to the ground. While driving i applied pressure to the breaks and my car seat came off the bracket causing me to be distracted about what happened. This is very dangerous and can be the result of an accident. I have researched online and there are plenty of other people experiencing the same issue.

The contact owns a 2006 infiniti m45. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the front driver's seat dropped down. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the seat welding needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

Driver seat collapsed! as other stated, the weld broke and the seat collapsed during driving, causing a serious dangerous safety issue! infiniti, please take responsibility about this! it's safety and it should be a recall!

The contact owns a 2006 infiniti m45.the contact stated that the one inch rear tube that extends from right to left, which supports the seat bracing structure weld, failed on the driver's side metal frame.he called the dealer and was issued case number 6296066.the failure and current mileages were 64,435. Updated 10/16/08the seat frame had a stress crack at the left rear corner. During a tune-up, the mechanicnoticed that one of the tires were separating. Updated 10/20/08.

I noticed for a couple of weeks my seat would rock back and forth when i accelerated. Yesterday when i sat down in my car, i heard a loud clunk and it was my driver's seat which apparently broke off the mechanism that holds it. I researched and saw many users are reporting the same issue. Now i have a broken driver's seat in my car.

Seat broke 1 month ago, and was leaning to right. While interstate driving, went to adjust the seat height, and the seat broke down to the ground. Had to pull over into emergency lane, and re-adjust mirrors, and steering wheel height. Seat will not move up/down anymore, and is planted onto the floor of the car.

I currently own a 2006 infiniti m45. I have a safety issue which involves a broken driver side seat lift bracket. I wasn't doing anything abnormal, but when i sat down in my vehicle i heard a "pop" and notice the seat now had a slight lean towards the center console. This is a huge concern, and after doing extensive research online, i have found that it is a manufacture defect rather than normal part wear. I'm real frustrated that i have spent this much money on a luxury vehicle (my third infiniti), and a safety concern like this (which should be a recall) isn't addressed by infiniti, but rather the cost be covered out of the customers pocket. I spoke with my local dealer about it, and was given a substantial estimate to examine it, and 6-7 x's larger amount to repair it. This is truly frustrating and the fact that i have been told that it is "my problem" is really steering me away from purchasing another infiniti vehicle .

As reported by others, this vehicle's driver's seat is unstable and moves forward upon braking.

Infiniti has received many complaints about the broken driver seat leaning into the center console because it is well documented in the nicoclub.com forum "2006 m45 seat leaning into glove box."while my car was being serviced in 2008-2009 timeframe, i called infiniti of willow grove pa and asked them to look at the seat because it seemed to rock when coming to a stop or accelerating.i was told they could not find anything wrong with the seat and i never thought much of it until it completely broke and my seat was leaning into the center console.i have two children and needed to get this matter resolved quickly for the safety of my family.the dealer told me there was nothing they could do and asked me to call infiniti consumer affairs.the consumer affairs representative promptly took my contact info and said she would check with the manufacturer to see if there was money available to assist me despite my car being out of warranty.the representative said she would be in touch with me in about a week to tell me what the decision was.she called me back a few days later and said there was nothing they could do b/c the issue was not documented at the dealer and the car was out of warranty. She said the entire under carriage of the seat would require replacement at a cost of $1,200.unfortunately, i do not have $1200 to put towards a $42,000 car so i ended up taking the seat apart myself and took it to a welder.the welder said the material used by the manufacturer was poor quality.i took multiple pictures of the broken seat bracket and had it professionally welded for $40 (much less than the $1200 quoted by the dealer and consumer affairs).

Driver seat bracket broke and the seat slides and rocks when driving, unsafe

The driver's side seat track assembly broke, causing the seat to lean towards the center console.the break occurred at the welded steel.i researched this problem on different forums, and there are numerous accounts of the same issue.i feel that this flaw is unsafe and costly to the consumers.this defect should be recalled at the manufacturers expense.

Both front seats would be sliding from seat tracks as if they were loose when the car would be getting to a stop. The driver's seat started leaning to the center of vehicle after a while, rubbing the center console. Eventually the driver seat came out of the track because the track broke when adjusting the seat.

While driving at normal highway speed, my drivers seat suddenly collapsed onto the floor on the left side of the seat. After regaining control of the car, i pulled over to find that the seat bracket had broken. The seat is completely detached from the frame and now moves freely up and down. I took the car to the dealership and without even looking at it, they said that i would need a new drivers seat at a cost of $2000.00. The technician then stated that this was a common problem on 2006-07 infinities. I started researching this online and found that there are thousands of complaints and serious safety issues involving broken seat brackets in these vehicles. Infinity accepts no responsibility for this problem and refuses to even attempt to correct the problem.

My 2006 infiniti m45 was making noise in the rear right wheel and i brought it to the dealer and they said that it needed lubricant and that fixed it but when i drove out it was still making a clicking sound and they informed that it is normal for the car to do that which is un heard off and they did not want to do anything.

Steering is very unpredictable.car wanders all over the road requiring constant steering adjustment to stay in lane.vehicle also sometimes suddenly veers to one side of the lane sharply when braking requiring significant effort to keep the car on the road.infiniti dealer state cannot duplicate issue- but service rep tells me there are a lot of complaints.this is dangerous and only a matter of time before it causes a major problem.i have been told the steering rack is defective but infiniti will not admit it.

Vehicle's steering wheel jerks out of no where. It also sways back and fourth while braking at times. The vehicle vibrates/shakes at speeds over 70mph. The infiniti dealership (plano, tx) stated the problems were due to a warped rotor, which is another issue with infiniti vehicles, so i resurfaced the rotors and within 6mths (under or around 5,000 miles) had to replace them. After i replaced the rotors crest infiniti stated the problem was then the tires so i replaced the tires and the problem continued. Afterwards they said it was the rims, i had the rims inspected and any defective rim either replaced or repaired. Within two month i replaced all four rims and tires. None of these solutions fixed the vibrating or jerky steering so i had alignments and road force balances performed on the car. Car still vibrates at speeds of 70mph or higher, far worse at speeds of 75-80mph or higher. This is a well known safety hazard with the 2006 m35/m45 infiniti!! the vehicle also has problems starting. I replaced the battery two months ago and it continues to struggle to start if it does start. The vehicle doesn't even have 35,000 miles on it and none of the safety hazards have been fixed!

I have a 2006 infiniti m45 and the car veers wildly (every day) when driving at highway speeds (>55 mph) form subtle road grain.(tramlining).this has caused me concern on multiple occasions almost resulting in a collision.extreme caution must be taken to keep the car on track.i hear this is common in this vehicle and it is due to a defective steering rack.will continue to monitor the status but a recall situation should be started (investigated).

I'm having a problem with my car called tramlining where the vehicle will steer on its own depending on road conditions. This can be a dangerous issue especially on the highway when one time my car wants to steer into another lane on its own with cars present in my other lane. My car has new tires, alignment done, road force balance and no suspension problem and this issue still exist.

I was driving in the highway when my vehicle started swaying back and forth in between the lines it became very hard to control the steering of the vehicle, this has happen several times before in the past, i've taken the vehicle in several times for service told the technicians about the incident countless steps have been taken to correct the situation and still to this day the vehicle does the same thing...

The car pulls in either direction anytime while driving.pulls to the left more frequently and does it anytime there is a bump or unleavened road. Have completed 2 or more alignments and the problem won't go away.

My steering wheel feels like it is pulling from side to side and i have had an alignment done twice and it only "helps" the problem...there is something wrong with my steering/wheel/column/rack and it does make me feel unsafe when driving my car.

Purchased used car. Car keeps pulling to the left. After numerous alignments the car still pulls slightly to the left while driving on the freeway.

Car pulls to the left with good tires, proper alignment and proper balancing.

When braking the car pulls either direction hard also weaves side to side when driving at any speed or if u hit a bump the steering wheel yanks hard to the side. Also when stopped with car n drive and foot on brakes the car will surge forward hard like its going togo on its own.

As reported by others, this vehicle pulls hard to the left when braking.shop inspection reports that the car's alignment and brakes are fine.

Car pulls too right or left whenever it feels like it. Can not keep the car in the lane when it happens. Car is in perfect alignment new tires no loose or worn suspension parts. The car only has 34,000 miles. Note this does not happen while braking and there is no certain road surfaces that affect it. Have been and master ase certified tech working in the field for over 40 years. And the only description in my experience would be a rack and pinion control issue.*ln

Front end tramlining. Hard to control car in center of lane when traveling at higher speed (45-65mph). This problems occurs mostly on highway.problem has not been corrected.

2006 infiniti m45- severe trammeling issues since first purchased car in october 2006. Car will "drift" to the left or to the right depending on the crown in the road. I have completed 4 different alignments and 4 independent shops, all 4 shops say my alignment is within specs. I did purchase all 4 new tires and still trammeling is active.

Steering rod became detached from coupling that is connected to steering rack.car was traveling 70 mph on interstate road and was safely stopped even though the steering wheel was completely unresponsive.upon lifting the automobile on the tow truck, the detached steering rod and coupling were visible.incident occurred without warning or indication of problem.

This car cannot keep a straight line on any road. I have had all four tires replaced, all four wheels replaced, five tire alignments/balances done to no avail. This has caused severe danger when driving on both one and two lane roads, as the car will suddenly move into other lanes. Has caused another car to go off the road to avoid my car hitting theirs causing damage and injury to that person. I, as well as other complainants on here, have been told that infiniti is aware that there is a defect in the steering rack but is not authorizing dealers to repair or replace under warranty. This issue effects all infiniti m35s and m45s from 2006-2010. Class action lawsuit is in progress.

My 2006 infiniti m45 sport has an issue with steering when the brakes are applied at high speeds. The steering wheel "judders," shakes, vibrates, and wobbles uncontrollably at high speeds once the brakes are applied. Control of the car can be lost. I replaced tires so i know it's not a tire issue. The faster the speed, the more vibration and wobble in the steering is felt. I've owned an infiniti fx35 and other vehicles and no other car did this. This is a well-known issue with other m45 owners.

Interior dash is melting and very sticky.on any given day the reflection of the sun will bounce off the dash, onto the windshield, effectively making it very difficult to drive the vehicle safely.have almost been involved in several accidents due to not being able to see obstructions in front of me.it is specially hard to see on very hot/sunny days when the dash gets really glossy from melting, making it even worse to drive and very scary on the highway.i'm afraid for my family's safety, especially on the highway.

2006 infiniti m45. Letter received from an investigator in a homicide case referencing an odi complaint for a similar vehicle in an effort to obtain information forhis case *tgw

While driving at 55 mph, i was changing lanes, and there was a piece of metal in the road.i applied the brakes to slow down.the car abruptly pulled to right and and ran into the curb on the right hand side of the road.i applied the brakes again.this caused the car to fly to the left and hit the median 2 lanes over, sending me into a 360 spin out, once again hitting the right side of the road with front of my car, and ending up with the rear end hitting the median again with the rear of the car bringing it to a stop.thank god, all of the cars around me saw what was happening, and braked to stop and let my car do its thing until it stopped.the engine was still running.i put the car in drive....clunk.... I see where there is a flat tire warning on dashboard....at this time, i'm not sure how many.it's 5 o'clock traffic in houston and i'm only 1 mile from my house.the transmission is still working in reverse and drive with extreme clunks and horrible noises coming from back passenger tire well area.i cleared the road, as i was the only one in the accident, and no one else was hurt.i drove the car home without looking at damage.damage: has to be some front end steering part damage from hitting curb twice with front end.dent in front passenger fender.i suspect broken axle, as driver rear wheel is at an angle.passenger rear wheel rim is cracked and missing pieces in several places.the strut and spring is destroyed, as flat tire is rubbing tire well.some damage to fender area.scraped back bumper.as i said, when the car is put in gear, there is a huge clank, but the transmission and engine kept on ticking.i am 56 years old.i have zero traffic accidents and have been driving since i was 15.i have never had a car that i lost control of.never.car will be towed to nissan dealership tomorrow for inspection.my neck and back are sore

The contact owns a 2006 infinti m45. The contacted stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the engine suddenly stalled after the accelerator pedal was released. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under nhtsa campaign id number 13v430000 (speed control) because they did not know how to perform the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 89,600. Updated 01/07/14*ljthe consumer stated the vehicle shut off twice, when he slowed down. I was driving a 2006 infiniti m45. I was pulling into a parking place. I had my foot on the brake. The car was slowing to a stop and had stopped forward motion. I was getting ready to stop the engine. Suddenly with my foot still on the brake the vehicle surged forward, jumped the concrete parking barracde and then proceeded over the curb, down a 3 foot drop crashing into the ground and then hitting the corner of a brick condominium.there was no injury. I was alone in the vehicle. No air bag deployed. I did have my seat belt on. My brother witnessed the event as did the lawyer i was coming to see.my foot was on the brake the entire time during the incident.my foot was still on the brake when the car finally stopped. I have no explanation for the sudden acceleration. The vehicle is currently being repaired.there is front end damage and undercarriage damage from the sudden acceleration fall and crash.

I recently received a recall notice regarding my 2006 infiniti m45.it states the vehicle goes into "limp home mode" due to a defective accelerator pedal sensor/ecu setting.i took the vehicle to park place infiniti in las vegas, nv for recall repairs.they said my vehicle does not fall into the range of vin #'s associated with the problem and to come back later if i receive further notice.i did not report my vehicle experiencing this problem in the past because i thought maybe it went into limp home mode due to the fuel level being low.it only seems to do it when the fuel is low enough for the fuel light to come on. I have since received an "interim notice" from infiniti regarding nhtsa recall 13v-430 and it identifies my vin #. I also have concerns with this vehicle's defective 4.5 liter engine. The piston rings are faulty causing excessive oil consumption, smoking, and banging and rattling. In addition, the co-existence of a driver's seat that moves forward upon braking and a steering system that loses control upon braking make driving the vehicle much less safe than a $45,000.00 car, or any car for that matter, should be.

My check engine light came on and vehicle shifted info one gear. It was slow to accelerate and change gears. I had the code pulled and it showed p1764 direct clutch solenoid. I have researched the code which i found a service bulletin that has this code listed but it is not on the recall list when i entered the vin number.

Purchased brand new 2006 infiniti m45.from month after purchase, learned that moonroof leaks when washing car through brushless auto car wash.once it even leaked during a heavy rain.dealer has been very attentive, but always reports no problems found.said they cleared drain hole just in case.i gave up, and only washes car by hand.a $55k car shouldn't leak.
