Http://www.carsafetyreference.com/infiniti-m45-2003/air-bags my2003 infiniti m45 supplemental air bag light is blinking.i have not been in any accidents or hit anything. This seems to be a known issue with this vehicle and infiniti in general as there are numerous forums about it. It needs to be evaluated by infiniti because it seems dangerous. I just feel that i should not have to pay for an air bag light blinking when they have not been deployed.
The seat-mounted, side torso air bags for the driver and front passenger might explode. The airbag light will not go off. Dealer tried to get me to buy new module but i did some research on your site and found out there are many cases like mines. Please help what should i do?
Faulty gas gauge readings and check engine light with code 0462. Troubleshooting revealed no +12 v from instrument cluster (combination meter) to fuel level sensor. No opens or shorts in wiring harness. All points to a defective gauge cluster.
Gas gauge failure on infiniti m-45 2003 model.gas gauge would read full - 3/4 full when the tank was below 1/4 tank.would lead to running out of gas unless the gas was monitored by the number of miles between fill ups.this is a dangerous situation - owners potentially running out of gas when trying to cross an intersection pull out in traffic, etc.
While i was driving this vehicle, it had shut off while i was driving and i lost all power. It started back up like normal. This has happened twice and i'm afraid this could happen while i'm on the highway with my family.i see there was a recall involving this but not for my vehicle. This has happened to me just recently.
Wife had just reached 65mph on highway when engine died. Fuel gauge indicated 1/2 tank. I had heard that fuel gauge failures are common on this vehicle, so i came with a gas can and added 2gal. Car started without problem and was driven to nearest gas station to fill the tank. Car continues to run without incident since running out of gas. I now reset the trip odometer with each fill up, and refill before reaching 300 miles on a tank.was told by infiniti dealer that entire instrument cluster would need to be replaced, at a cost of approx. $1200.
The fuel gauge does not accurately reflect actual fuel level.it reads full 100% of the time regardless of how much fuel is actually in the tank.
While driving everything in the vehicle was computerized. Consumer had to look at the dashboard where the navigation system was to do anything in this vehicle. Consumer stated that hehad several close calls with accidents, a total of ten times.
I had just purchased the car and when i left the lot around november 1st, 2011 at 95k miles , i went 10 miles home to my place, then 10 additional miles to my mothers place to show them the car.they got to see that it died in her apartments when the gas gauge read that it was full.we tried to jump the car, but we discovered that it was out of gas and had someone with a gas can to help us.the referred me to a shop after the incident that's not even apart of the bbb and not certified and they didn't even want to look at the car.they wanted me to help them find the part but the car is under warranty.i'm still dealing with this issue and i hope you all can help me resolve this issue.
The fuel gauge no longer works correctly.i ran out of gas in the middle of the street and was nearly rear ended several times before i was able to move the vehicle off the street.my wife, children, myself and other drivers were all put in harm's way due to this faulty issue.from reading the forums, this error on nissan's part is plaguing many of these vehicles and will eventually affect them all.please consider that this model m45 was sold in the us for only two model years (2003, 2004).the combined sales for these vehicles from 2002-2004 was only 7,855 before they abandoned the y34 platform and went to the new y50 platform.so the number of complaints will not be that of a toyota camry.from what i gather on this website, at least 1% of all 03/04 m45 owners have filed a complaint with nhtsa.there are hundreds of others that have this issue but have not filed a complaint.this is one of the most discussed topics in the infiniti owners forums.my vehicle is now showing two error codes on the obd-ii readout: p1444 (evap canister purge volume control solenoid valve) and p0462 (fuel level sensor).from what i understand, some people have had the fuel level sensor replaced by infiniti, but this does not fix the issue.others have had their instrument cluster sent off and replaced by a third party to repair nissan's faulty factory soldering.this is the cause for the fuel gauge not working and for the error codes. Please consider this information and that of the other complaints to have nissan issue a recall to fix this fuel gauge issue.thank you.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled after the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician stated there was a failure in the crank shaft position sensor. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 190,000.
I first incurred a fuel gauge issue with my 2003 infinity m45 sedan around approximately december 2009. My mother was driving the car at the time of first incident and the fuel gauge had read full. On her way to work she ran out of gas which caused an engine failure. As a result, she was stranded on the side of a major highway. Upon taking the car to a local infinity dealership they were almost instantly able to diagnose the problem as a faulty instrument gauge cluster. I was told the part alone was around $900 and after labor, it would be over $1000 to fix. My online research has proven that this is a very common problem and several third party companies have begun offering repair services for this specific issue. I have come into contact with well over 20 03-04 infinity m45 owners who have the same issue. Some owners have experienced this problem with as few as 20,000 miles.it is an issue that infinity is aware of, but it is my opinion that they choose not to recall the issue when they can make an extra $1000 off replacing the instrument cluster. I was made aware that the issue was no under investigation. There are only around an estimated 8100 03-04 m45s currently still in use. As a result, our voice is not heard very loudly even though the problem is extremely common in these vehicles. I am more than willing to offer any further information on my personal experience with the matter.
My boyfriend recently bought this car from a dealer that gave him a standard warranty and we have had the car for about 3 weeks now and after research i have found that the car has fuel gauge problems as well as when the vehicle is being steered is feels as if the car will slip. The car makes a few noises when you turn or stop as well. It almost feels as if the tires will fall off. I have mentioned it to him but i let him handle the car business. The fact is i drive the car to transport our child and i am worried about the safety of the vehicle. I also have found that the car has had a recall on it for those specific problems i have previously noted. I am not sure if i can report this or what can i do about this car.
2003 m45 check engine light on for gas gauge, always full.the diagnostic says its the fuel level sensor.replaced the fuel level sensor (about $400) because the vehicle had failed the state emissions insp.the check engine is still on and now i have to replace the entire instrument cluster.all-in-all this is turning out to be a pretty serious (expensive) problem.my car won't pass inspection and my registration is out.i've run out of gas several times already, since nothing is telling me how much gas i have.the car shuts down completely in the middle of the highway.on one occasion had to wait on the side of a very busy interstate for an hour to get gas from a tow truck dispatched by the insurance company.
I purchased my m45 from used car dealer and while driving home the car stalled during chicago rush hour traffic. The wrecker towed me back to dealership who asked if i ran out of gas -i thought not possible since the fuel gauge read 3/8. The dealership filled the gas tank and car started up. I was stranded a second time in rush hour traffic in residential area and this time my tank read 7/8.check engine light is on (code p0462) due to low voltage level to the fuel level sensor due to faulty instrument cluster.inaccurate fuel gauge readings could leave the driver and or their family in danger of being seriously or fatally injured in a rear-end accident if the car stalls on the interstate. Nissan infiniti car owners club has identified no less than 50 other 2003-04 m45 car owners who have experienced this problem. Nissan north america is aware but refuses to correct the problem.
Hello, while driving our 2003 infinity m45 on the highway at approximately 65 mph, the car suddenly shut off.i was driving my kids to school and this suddenly happened.the car turned on immediately and drove back home.i thought it might have been some issue with the fuel.i drove it again and this happened to me once more, the vehicle just suddenly shuts off.i went to the dealer to see what the problem was and was told after being checked that there was a recall for the same car and year for the cam & crank sensors but needed to make sure this car was part of it.to my surprise it wasn't! why would they recall same year and model but not mine? my vehicle stalls on the road and could have seriously gotten injured due to this malfunction.please help us out. Thank you!
The fuel gauge stopped accurately indicating the amount of fuel in the vehicle. Subsequently the car ran out of fuel while driving on local road causing disruption in traffic before it could be moved to the shoulder. After a cursory check to see if anything looked to be amiss, we decided to start with the simple solutions and work toward the more complex. We added 5 gallons of gas to the car and it immediately cranked and ran fine. This is when we noticed that the gas gauge failed to move. The gauge showed to be about 1/2 full before we added fuel and didn't move after adding the fuel. The fuel indicator has now moved to past full and hasn't moved since.we had an infiniti dealer look at the car and they gave us an estimate of $1502.00 to make the repairs.the malfunctioned occurred at or near 72,000 miles, well after the warranty period. Reviewing information on the internet shows that this appears to be a rather common occurrence for this year/model. Often this was repaired by infiniti in cars that were still in the warranty period.below is a link to a website that's has over 160 posts concerning this problem.http://forums.nicoclub.com/m45-fuel-gauge-problem-post-here-if-you-have-had-it-t316682-150.html.
Fuel gauge does not show anywhere near correct amount. Bought car 1 year ago and has been so from day 1 . Replaced fuel sender but did not correct the problem. Replaced gauge cluster with junkyard part and it worked for about 1 month then it failed as well.everyone i know who owns this car has or has had this issue. Please help us.
The fuel gauge measured more than 1/2 a tank and the car ran out of gas.fortunately, i was able to coast to a stop in a safe area.the fuel gauge has continued to malfunction.
Http://forums.nicoclub.com/m45-fuel-gauge-problem-post-here-if-you-have-had-it-t316682-120.htmlfirst of all, the link above shows a lot of people are experiencing this problem.i was leaving home one night, came back, cut my car off, tried to leave again, car would not crank.i work for aaa, so i had my car towed to a repair shop.first we thought it was the fuel pump, however it turns out the cluster is bad. Now when i fill my car up, it goes to 3/4 a tank, and it will not drop below 1/2 tank. Luckily i can almost gauge when i need i need gas, but this seems to be an issue that infiniti should have had a recall on and they will not admit to it.
Even though fuel gauge shows a full tank of gas the tank was actually empty and i ran out of gas. This was very inconvenient but more importantly could have been very dangerous for every passenger in the car, had i been on the freeway or other roads traveling at a high rate of speed to suddenly be out of gas. One other related issue is the engine service light. Tried to get the vehicle smogged but was told that a few codes came up on the meter. One was camshaft position sensor. One other one showed the fuel sending unit/sensor to be faulty. In regards to this issue, it would seem that just replacing the sending unit may not be a guarantee that the fuel gauge will properly function. Car can not be smogged without these items corrected at high cost. These issues need to be addressed properly from the infiniti/nissan company. Thank you.
I know there are numerous complaints on fuel gauge issues with the 03-04 m45. My car now has 87k and has had this issue since around 73k miles. Once it gets down to 1/4 tank, it will sometimes go to e and turn the light on or go back and forth between 1/4 and 1/2 tank marks. I know the qx56 had a recall for the sending unit but the gauge clusters are the issue with these cars. I'm hoping infiniti will provide some help since this is quite a big concern for every driver. Thank you.
As i was driving hike after work on 95 south my infiniti all of a sudden shut off while i was on the middle lane on the highway, i manages to let it ride over and get to the emergency lane before the car came to a complete stop, i did not know what was the issue until i had it towed to my mechanic and he told me that the car had no fuel, i did not understand because the gauge read a quarter tank, after doing some research and getting my car scanned for the check engine light that is now on because of it, i found out that this model m 2003-2004 all have the same issue with the gas gauge (instrument cluster).
Fuel gauge level indicator stays at much higher level than is actually present. Mostly stays at full reading, but sometimes goes to half level when in actuality the fuel level is close to empty. For the most part, it stays at full level indication and sometimes causes an intermittent "service engine soon" light to appear on the dash cluster assembly. After having the obd2 error code read, it states that the fuel sending unit is faulty, however after having it tested, the fuel sending unit is working within normal specifications. After much research, it is believed that the fuel gauge itself is faulty and a replacement of the cluster assembly is recommended to remedy this specific issue. When this first happened, i almost ran out of fuel on the freeway.i felt power loss while cruising at highway speeds. Fortunately, there was a gas station coming up at the closest oncoming exit and i was able to make it in and refuel. That is when i discovered that i had an issue with this fuel gauge and decided to research this. I have found this has been a problem for many owners of this specific infiniti model vehicle.
At about 60 speed on the highway, all engine lights came on and the engine turned off. The car steering wheel locks up. I pulled over to the shoulder and successfully restarted the car after about 10 attempts. The car started again and ran well for another 10 minutes. Again, at about 60 miles per hour, the engine halted and i had to change 3 lanes to get to a shoulder. The cars behind me were coming at full speed while my speed was going down fast. There seems to be a recall for this model year, make, and model, but infiniti dealership is telling me that my vin # is not included in the recall. I have seen many people online with the same exact problem.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted but the failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the crank shaft position sensor and engine control module needed to replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the vin was not included nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 156,000... ....updated 12/30/15the consumer stated it was advised for the control module to be replaced. Updated 2/23/2016
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the vehicle randomly stalled without warning. The manufacturer and the dealer indicated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 12v088000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was unable to determine when the failure would recur. The failure mileage was not available.
This vehicle randomly will shut down all mechanical systems simultaneously at any speed which creates an extremely dangerous situation, especially around other traffic, which could result in a crash. The car's "service engine soon" light appears, the car immediately loses engine power, brakes, and steering and many times will not restart immediately which puts the passengers at risk of a crash in any situation. These are the exact same symptoms of a recall issued by infiniti for the 2003 m45, however, infiniti insists that this vehicle is not included in the recall. I have already changed the crank position sensors. Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s).
I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden my car stalled without warning. Shortly after the service engine light came on. The car restarted only to do that again the next day. It did it another time and didn't restart. Had it repaired by and independent mechanic. 6months later the same problem is bck. Decided to check on the recalls and there was a recall called engine and engine cooling that described my issue to a t but did not include my vin! this is very dangerous and unsafe. Both times my daughter was in the car.
The contact owns a 2003 infini m45. The contact stated that while driving with the cruise control set at 80 mph, the vehicle stalled. Maybe once someone is killed in a crash infiniti will reconsider its position on this matter. According to the infiniti dealer, they do not know the cause of the problem. Their suggestion was to leave the car with them for 2 or 3 days so they could hook up equipment to the car and drive it around (at $130 per hour) hoping that the problem would occur. Both the dealer and infiniti usa seem unwilling to investigate this problem without costing me hundreds or even thousands of dollars to fund their research in an effort to prevent a crash. Here is the description of the symptoms caused by the recall: this could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, it suddenly stalled. The contact also mentioned that the service engine soon warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 134,009.
While turning left with on coming traffic the engine died.the check engine light came on and the communications center said it was emissions related.the car did restart, the warning light remains on, and after a short drive there was a burning smell and heat coming from the car.the local nissan dealer will only work on it as customer pay, and will not do any recall work, said i need to go to the infinity dealer 2 hours away.i just notified nissan corp today of the issue and waiting for their response.

While leaving an entrance ramp to merge onto the interstate, the vehicle suffered a complete and total engine power loss along with its power steering and power braking functions. After this failure, the vehicle would crank but not start, leaving it stranded. There is currently a recall in place for the vehicle's make, model, and model year (recall #03v455000), however i was told by both the dealership and infiniti that the vehicle was not covered under that recall because the part in question was made by a different manufacturer than what was included under the existing recall. The summary and consequences of this failure align exactly with that of the existing recall. It is evident that the safety hazard exists beyond the scope of the original recall and the purpose of this complaint is to address that deficiency.

I am starting to notice that my engine is burning excessive amounts of oil. I only have 2 thousand miles on an oil change and my vehicle was almost out of oil when i checked. I don't drive the vehicle hard at all, just normal driving. I've checked other forums and it seems to be a problem with a lot of the vehicles. I just wanted to make everyone aware of this, it could be dangerous. Http://forums.nicoclub.com/2003-m45-burning-oil-engine-replacement-t385113.html.
2003 infiniti m45 with approximately 106,000 miles.car will stall suddenly at highway or city road speeds necessitating putting car into neutral or pulling over to restart.previously, after this had happened, a code for faulty crankshaft position sensor was recovered, and both the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors were replaced with aftermarket new parts from duralast.car no longer has a check engine light code associated with the stalling, but the stalling persists.also, when car is cooled to ambient temperature, it may take 2-3 ignition attempts to start the car and occasionally a backfire/misfire is heard during failed attempts.if car has sat for multiple days without being driven, it may take 10-15 attempts to start the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to a local mechanic, who stated that the crank position sensor and the cam position sensor needed to be replaced. The mechanic replaced both sensors. After replacing both sensors, the failure continued. The contact took the vehicle to another mechanic and had a different cam position sensor replaced. The failure did not recur. After the repair, the contact noticed the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling) and called the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 139,000.
2003 infiniti m45 consumes 4 ml of oil after only 1000 miles and told by dealershio and manufacturer that this is normal.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph when the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the contacts residence and later to a local mechanic shop. The local mechanic advised him the contact that the camshaft position sensor would need replacing. My 2003 infiniti m45 engine stopped during operation which was very concerning at the time due to my finance and child both in the car.this has been the second time that this has happened to my vehicle.this issue first occurred after the service engine light came on.i was told by the manufacture dealership that i would have to replace my engine to correct issue.that was a very expensive option so i took it another smaller auto shop to get a second opinion.i was told there was engine problem with the cam shaft senor and the timing belts.i decide to continue to drive vehicle.the car first had engine failure in apr 10.i took to a auto shop and the cam shaft sensors was replaced and i was able to continue to drive the vehicle.code p0021 was not able to be cleared so the service engine light remained on.i was able to drive the car and experienced no issues until sept 10.the car engine stop working again during vehicle operation in sept 10.i recently came across a recall for 2003 infiniti m45 that described similar issues to what is happening to my vehicle.i was told by the infiniti dealership that my vin was not part of the recall even though the vehicle problems are similar to was is listed in this engine and engine cooling recall.thank you.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that they have had problems with the vehicle since 2007. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The dealer always thought it was an issue with the starter, but never resolved the problem. The dealer now stated that it was an issue with the cam shaft sensor which is under recall, but his vehicle was not included in recall campaign number is 03v455000, engine and engine cooling. The failure mileage was 55000. The current mileage is 108000.
I was traveling down i-85 n bound doing about 65 in the middle lane with heavy traffic when the rpm dropped all the way out and the car lost all power as if it cut off leaving me in shock because i had no way of getting over to get off on the shoulder.after taking it to a shop i was told that it was the cam and crankshaft position sensors and that i need to contact infiniti before paying to have this issue fixed because it was a recall for this issue, so i contact the infiniti dealer and the lady i spoke with informed me that it has never been a recall for any issue on this car and that since the car was 10 years old that was a possible problem with the car shutting down while operating the vehicle,.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the crank shaft position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 87,831.updated 8/21/15 updated 09/09/15*ljupdated 11/01/2017
Thank you.
On the freeway with the wife, at ~60 mph, the engine stalls, characteristics very similar to recall.had to put into neutral and restart car on the fly to avoid a major accident.since then it has happened two more times, luckily while at a stop.contacted infinity and was told that the vin on my car was not affected by the recall, although i have the exact same issues. (even a camshaft sensor code popped up since and have had an issue turning the engine from a cold start once already). My car also suffers from the infamous fuel gauge issue which infiniti doesn't even have a recall for yet.see recall from infiniti/nissan below:engine and engine coolingrecall date:nov 17, 2003model affected:2003 infiniti m45summary:on certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor or cam position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process.consequences:this could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash.remedy:dealers will replace the crank position sensors. Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s). Vehicles involved in a previous recall campaign, 01v357, are also included in this new campaign. The replacement sensors used in that campaign are also affected. Owner notification began on december 22, 2003. I was driving on the freeway at 50 miles an hour when my 2003 infiniti m45 's engine shut off without warning. I put the car in neutral and re-started it. This happensoften during highway and city driving. The current milage is 104,000mi.the first occurance was after the factory warranty of 70,000 mi. Expired. I contacted nissan/infiniti and was told my car was not part of a recall initiated for this exact orrurance.
Fuel gauge does not show correct amount of fuel resulting in running out of gas. I have been dealing with the problem for almost 2 years. Now the service engine light came up and the issue requires fixing in order to pass emission control. This is well known problem, but infiniti refuses fixing it.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45.on approximately nine occasions, the vehicle would completely shut off and sometimes would not restart.the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer approximately four times.they stated that the failure could be caused by the shift lock or the fuel system, but there was no resolution.the current mileage was 50,300 and failure mileage was 5,000.
Vehicle consumes 1 quart of motor oil every 1000 miles. It causes carbon buildup in the combustion chambers. I was told i would have to pay to get the carbon cleaned periodically. Vehicle has 24000 miles and is still under warranty. Manufacturer says this type of consumption is normal and does not want toanything. Service rep stated that they are having the same issues with all models with this v8. *la

While driving everything in the vehicle was computerized. Consumer had to look at the dashboard where the navigation system was to do anything in this vehicle. Consumer stated that hehad several close calls with accidents, a total of ten times.

The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact was driving 75 mph with the cruise control activated and attempted to activatethe low beam headlights but they failed to illuminate. The cruise control warning light then illuminated. The contact also stated that the instrument panel lights failed and the brakes engaged independently. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for an inspection. The failure was not reported to the manufacturer. The failure and current mileage was 105,000. ...updated 07-10-13 the consumer was driving 75 mph with the headlights and cruise control on. Thank you.
The fuel gauge stopped indicating the correct fuel level which left me stranded on a dangerous highway when i ran out of fuel.
The fuel gauge does not accurately reflect actual fuel level.it reads full 100% of the time regardless of how much fuel is actually in the tank.
2003 infiniti m45. Consumer writes in regards to recall concerning fuel gauge *tgwthe consumer is requesting reimbursement of related expenses of$2,168.76 as he previously paid to have the defect corrected. The consumer stated the vehicle had to be towed, where an inspection revealed the gas tank was empty, even the needle read half full. The fuel pump sending unit was replaced, but it did not rectify the problem. Finally in december 2011, during a smog test, it was discovered the fuel gauge was defective.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would display inaccurate fuel level readings. As a result, the vehicle stalled on various occasions while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the fuel gauge and sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
This relates to nhtsa investigation pe11038. I write about a faulty design that infiniti did not recall and will not take responsibility for.some time ago, my fuel gauge became erratic, then the "service engine soon" light went on.the trouble code, p0462, was for "fuel level sensor a circuit low input" (not really news since the gauge wasn't working).i took it to a shop that replaced the fuel sender and fuel pump, but that didn't solve the problem. They told me that the instrument cluster had to be replaced and that infiniti has redesigned the cluster because the original design was faulty.as i was told, the design error caused the cluster to fail when the fuel sender failed.i see online that this is a recurring problem and one that infiniti will sometimes take responsibility for - though not for me. I understand, of course, that manufacturers generally need to put some limits on their warranty liability.my fuel sender failed after my warranty had expired, and i would not expect infiniti to cover the cost of that repair.however, the instrument cluster was poorly designed such that it too could fail if the fuel sender went bad.that, apparently, is a problem that infiniti knew about years ago and chose not to address.it seems reasonable to me that infiniti would not issue a recall for such an issue that would likely be seen only by a minority of owners.however, it also seems fair that the owners who are affected - regardless of their warranty status at the time of failure - would have their faulty clusters replaced at infiniti's expense (which would certainly be a small expense compared to a recall).repeated inquiries to infiniti - directly and through my dealer - have elicited only the response that my car is out of warranty.
My gas gauge shows incorrect readings, i have to go by gallons of gas i put in to car to determine miles i can drive. When i start the car gauge shows one reading a few blocks later it shows another. My car stopped some weeks ago on busy street when gauge showed a 1/4 of a tank on the gauge, i had to call roadside service to get home.
Faulty gas gauge readings and check engine light with code 0462. Troubleshooting revealed no +12 v from instrument cluster (combination meter) to fuel level sensor. No opens or shorts in wiring harness. All points to a defective gauge cluster.
For the past year i have been having a issue with the fuel gauge on my 2003 infiniti m45. First i noticed the problem while driving when my fuel reading was at 1/4 tank and the gauge started to rise to a full tank. I did not like what was happening so i promptly went and put gas in the car to fill the tank. After a day or two of city driving in chicago there was no change to my fuel reading. I wasn't until 3 weeks ago i was on the dan ryan express way when the problem really scared me. I was driving and my car started to sputter when i noticed that my fuel reading was still at 3/4 full. It shut off completely in high speed traffic and there was no fuel in the tank. The minute man just happened to be coming and saw me and gave me a gallon of gas. I was fortunate that i was able to get to the shoulder without causing any serious to fatal incident. This should be a factory recall because it's absolutely to many infiniti m cars on the road with this issue. From my perspective, it will get addressed when there's a fatal accident where someone is rear ended due to this malfunction. Please address this problem. Thank you.
The fuel gauge on my 2003 infiniti m45 is defective. It began to occur at 101,000 miles intermittently, but now is a constant problem. The fuel gauge correctly reads the tank level until about 1/2 tank at which point it severely drops, or severely rises to "full". I know this to be a problem with this particular model in the fuel gauge cluster, and tried to have it fixed at the dealer. They did not fix it under warranty, and said there was no recall, however they recognized many other owners had the same issue. Other owners have said the only way to correct the problem is to completely replace the gauge cluster, however, i will not pay for a defective part at that price, so i have been keeping track of mileage in order to time fill-ups. The danger lies in the fact that the fuel light will not come on, and the tank will read above half-full when the tank is close to empty. There is severe risk of running out of gas on the highway and causing an accident.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact was driving 60 mph when the vehicle ran out of fuel despite the fuel gauge reading that the tank was full. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 134,000 and the current mileage was 137,000.
My 2003 infiniti m45 gas gauge does not work correctly. The gauge shows much more gas than what the has in it.
My 2003 infiniti m45 stopped running while i was driving 65 mph down the highway. Lucklily i was able to manuever off to the side of the road.the car restarted immediately, but since the incident my fuel gauge no longer works.
Purchased 2003 infiniti m45 with 104k miles at volvo of houston, tx and drove back to austin, tx. The fuel gauge read more that half a tank in the car, but was in fact closer to empty.while driving car ran out of gas on a main thorough fare had to call aaa roadside assistance for towing to local autorepair shop.in the past year have learned that this is a common problem the nissan corp refuses to recall.
Fuel gauge does not show correct amount of fuel resulting in running out of gas. I have been dealing with the problem for almost 2 years. Now the service engine light came up and the issue requires fixing in order to pass emission control. This is well known problem, but infiniti refuses fixing it.
Engine stalling occurred when the car ran out of fuel, despite the gauge indicating the presence of gasoline in the tank.
I'm sincerely with no recourse to fixing what is wrong with my car since it has been purchased. I bought the vehicle in 2007 and the very day i bought the vehicle, it ran out of gas even though the fuel gauge cluster showed it was half full. I took it back to the dealership and they "fixed" it. I then found out there was a recall and i went back to my dealership because my fuel gauge still does not work properly and my wife and my one year old ran out of gas again a week ago on the highway. The dealership continues to state there isn't a recall for fuel gauge issues, but i believe there should be. Please help as they are seeking close $1500 to fix the issue.
Fuel gauge reads half but is really empty.
I purchased the infiniti 2003 m45 before i knew about the fuel gauge problem.the shop i use has ordered 3 oem gauge clusters from infiniti all three would not work.with all the complaints and the safety issues why does infiniti refuse to fix this problem. It is a real surprise that a problem from 2003 still can not be fixed eight years later. This issue needs investigation and infiniti needs to be held responsible for all repairs in other words recall.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact noticed that the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was full at all times. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the fuel sending unit was replaced. The failure continued. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000 and the current mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would register either a full or empty reading. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the contact was informed that the fuel sending unit needed to be replaced; the mechanic stated that the failure would continue to occur whether it was repaired or not. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000 and the current mileage was approximately 100,000.
My infiniti m45 2003 model is having issue with fuel gauge not showing correct amount of gas presence in the tank. Fuel gauge showed gas tank full when it is nearly empty or show empty when tank is full.fuel gauge indication is very erratic and does not provide correct information.my wife had at least 2 times stops on highway with kids and called me to bring the gas due to faulty gauge.when i had this erratic behavior of fuel gauge during warranty period, i had taken it to the dealer that they never fixed and provided some explanations to avoid the situation and adjusted something to avoid the situation at that time.once the warranty expired, dealer was ready to fix the issue with about $700 charge changing the readout cluster and fuel gauge sensor.dealer ignored my constant complaint during warranty period.it seems this is a wide spread issue in many infiniti 2003 m45 models and several nissan models according to many online discussion groups.my car has now about 92300 miles and inaddition to fuel gauge faulty behavior, i also get the service engine soon light now.i have taken the car to a mechanic (not the dealer) and it was identified as fuel gauge senor issue and gave me about $700 estimate to fix it as dealer indicated on previous occasions.according to my online research and mechanic inputs, this is a known issue for infiniti and nissan models.it is very risky to drive the car with false sense of security, especially with kids not knowing the amount of gas in the tank. My constant complaint to the dealer had not been answered during warranty but now ready to fix it with a $700 price tag. This is not an isolated incident and need to be addressed with manufacturer by the authority that consumer requests have been ignored. Your direct involvement would be greatly appreciated.
The contact owns a 2003 infinity m45. On march 1, 2009, while the contact was driving at approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and he had to pull over to avoid a crash. When he checked the fuel gauge, it indicated that the vehicle wasfull with fuel but the vehicle was out of gas. The fuel gauge would also show a full tank of gas when the tank was empty. The contact planned to take the vehicle to a local repair shop for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000. The current mileage was approximately 89,000.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated the fuel level indicator would intermittently read that the fuel tank was full when it was not and often fluctuates back and forth from empty and full. The dealer advised that the fuel sending unit would need to be replaced. There were no recalls and the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 38,417 and the current mileage was 55,521.
The car stopped in the middle of the street because it was out of gas, but the indicator was showing about 40% of a full gas tank.there was no "low fuel" warning before the car ran out of gas.this is the second time the fuel indicator failed; the same problem was repaired 2 or 3 years ago.
The car stalled when i was drivingon 880 freeway left lane. Luckily i succeeded to steer the car through the lanes to the right curb. When i looked at the fuel gauge (asked by police officer that stopped by), it showed slightly more than one quarter. The car was towed to frontier infiniti dealership in santa clara. The dealership checked the car and claims that the gas tank was empty. So it looks like the fuel gauge was not indicating correctly. No repair action was taken.
Fuel gauge failure which could cause a problem if in heavy traffic.
On the labor day in this year (2011), my 2003 m45 had been stopped in middle of the i-75. The fuel gauge was around 1/4. While i was driving around 65 mph on the passing lane, the car lost its power and then stopped. There was not time to pull over to an emergency lane. Following cars barely passed my car. It was the most scary moment in my life. About 3 minute later, a police arrived and then i could escape the situation. After the car was towed nearest a shop, it turns out that gas was empty. Then i found out that it is the common problem on this vehicle. The hundreds of owner are suffering from this issue but infiniti ignores to fix this.
My car stalled while i was driving. My gas gauge was reading at 3/4 when it was actually empty. I had to call my husband who eventually found out about the problem. Good thing i was not in the freeway or i would have caused a big traffic or an accident.
2003 infiniti m45, vehicle stalled in highway traffic on 2 separate occasions due to low fuel.fuel gauge and electronic fuel monitoring system both showed over 1/2 tank of fuel on both occasions.i narrowly missed being rear ended in one instance and t-boned on another as i tried to merge onto oncoming traffic.fuel gauge cluster and fuel sensor need replacing.
Approximately 3 weeks ago i was driving my car and all of a sudden it stopped in the middle of a busy road and wouldn't start. It appeared to be a fuel problem but the gas gauge was showing over a quarter tank full. I had to tow it to a mechanic and then tow it again to the dealership. The dealership diagnostic was a faulty gas gauge and was recommending to replace the whole cluster, a very expensive proposition. As i was researching the issue it became apparent that this is a common problem with hundreds if not thousands of complaints. Apparently, the faulty item should have been recalled but infiniti decided not to do the right thing as it would be too expensive to recall the faulty item while they could make more money by just replacing them and charging the consumers hundreds of dollars. Not to mention the incidental costs inconveniences and dangers that consumers had to face.
I was driving my 2003 infiniti m45 on or around jan, 2, 2012 at 65mph. Suddenly the car started jerking heavily and my power steering went off making the car really hard to steer. I looked at the dash and saw no warning msgs come on and the fuel gauge showed half a tank. I carefully pulled my car to the shoulder.i tried a few time to re-start the car with no luck.i finally had it towed to a repair shop who later called to tell me it was out of gas.not only did i feel stupid i was upset as i heard this was a notorious problem with the m45. I was in disbelief that this actually happened to me.i love the car, but this problem needs to be fixed by infiniti!
Gas gauge has faulty readings. Consistently reads 3/4 to full when in actuality actual level is approaching empty. After fill-up gauge reads full but status does not track with actual gas in fuel tank.
The fuel gauge read full and i ran out of gas on the highway, fortunately i was in the right lane and avoided an accident.i filled the tank up and the next day the engine light came on and the car kept cutting off while i was driving home from work.i got to a gas station and the tank was 3/4 full.i took the car to the dealer who told me i had failed timing sensors which they replaced for $705.04.one hour after leaving the dealer the engine light came on again.i took the car back and they said they just needed to clear the codes.the next day the engine light came on again.i went to a private station and was told i had a dtc code p0462 and this was a known problem with this vehicle with the only fix being to replace the entire gauge cluster.i did not have the money at the time to have this corrected.i now have to be inspected and have no choice.
2003 infiniti m45. Consumer states gas gauge was giving erraticreadings *tgwthe consumer stated he ran out of gas with no warning from the gas gauge or low fuel indicator. Apparently, a service bulletin was issued regarding faulty indicators and the vehicle was repaired free of charge.however, about 16 months ago, the consumer noticed the gas gauge was once again providing erratic readings.two dealers informed the consumer that since the gauge was previously repaired under the service bulletin, that he would not be eligible for a complimentary repair again.the consumer was also informed the cost of the repair would be $500. Unfortunately, the consumer ran out of gas again.
The fuel gauge measured more than 1/2 a tank and the car ran out of gas.fortunately, i was able to coast to a stop in a safe area.the fuel gauge has continued to malfunction.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated the fuel gauge was providing inaccurate fuel level readings. While driving, the vehicle ran out of fuel and stalled without warning, although the fuel level gauge indicated that there was one quarter tank of fuel. The vehicle was not inspected. The failure mileage and current mileage was 58,000.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact inspected the vehicle and stated that the vehicle had run out of fuel but the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was full. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 101,000.
I purchased my 2003 m45 used from a private party at around 90k. A short time after i purchased it, while driving in heavy morning atlanta traffic, my car ran out of gas and left me stranded on the side of the highway.i realized that the gas gauge indicated i had a full tank of gas when in fact my car had completely run out of gas.i realized i had a problem. I took to my car to a mechanic that specializes in infiniti's. The gas gauge repair bill was going to be more than i could pay to fix it. To keep track of my gas needs, i just started using the trip odometer (mileage indicator.) i fill up at the tank after driving 250 miles.i then zero out the counter and repeat the process.last month the engine check light came on at 102k. I took back to my mechanic and he said it was the fuel sensor needing to be fixed. I have no idea why it took over 18 months to come on. My birthday is in january so i had to have my emissions done. I failed due to fuel level sensor circuit low input. I cannot afford to get this fixed. I also cannot afford not having an updated tag.i called the dealer twice after explaining problem with no call back. I called infiniti customer service and was told there was nothing they could do.
Fuel gauge stops at half full, and returns toward full until running out of gas.there are two low gas warnings (light and message) which no longer work.after several months of using odometer for approximate gas amount status, the check engine light illuminated. The auto zone code check shows the fuel level sender is faulty.turns out this acommon problem for this make and model, and many fixes(sender unit and gauge cluster) do not work.
I ran out gas 3 times an had to be towed, the cost of my vehicle has costs me 1500 for the fuel sensor and all the gauges replaced i have seen online there was complaints and recalls on this particular vehicle.
Fuel gauge showing wrong level of gas. Had fuel sending unit replaced twice still not working. Now they tell me i have to replace the gauge cluster. This will cost over $2000.00. This is a known defect and there should be a recall on this before somebody gets killed, or is infiniti waiting for someone to get killedbefore they do the recall?
There seems to be a gas gauge issues with my2003infiniti m45. I was on the highway at about 65 miles per hour when the car engine stopped and that car became non responsive. I was barely able to pull over to the far right hand lane without the car's power steering. The gas gauge read full but thetank was actually empty. I was lucky to have avoided a collision. After reading several posts i have come to find that this is a known nissan/ infiniti issue. Why has there not been a recall been placed on the nissans but no the infiniti's?
2003 infiniti m45. Consumer states fuel gauge failure *tgwthe consumer stated she received a recall notice regarding a now recall item, in which she experienced and paid out of pocket for on september 3 , 2010. Recall # 12v088000. The consumer is seeking reimbursement in the amount of $ 516.99. The consumer stated she ran out of gas, even though the gauge reflected more than 1/4 tank of gas.the dealer replaced the sender unit. When the consumer asked the dealer about reimbursement, she was informed the current fix for the problem was different than the work that was performed on her vehicle.
2003 infinity m45 gas gauge keeps showing faulty reading to the extent engine cuts off on the highway and car came to abrupt stop while in motion. Car shows full or 1/2 tank when it is actually empty.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the fuel gauge would provide erroneous fuel level readings. The contact mentioned that the vehicle stalled as a result of running out of fuel although the fuel gauge advised that the tank was full. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who verified the failure and advised that the instrument panel needed to replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
Malfunctioning fuel gauge.began as gauge never reading below half tank, and then escalated to continuous full reading.
I bought a 2003 infiniti m45 from a private lot, and the gas gauge showed full.i drove this vehicle about 20 miles that day and it died on the street while i was driving through my residence.couldn't figure it out until we smelled gas so i had to have someone to bring me gas in a gas can and the car started right up.the private lot didn't want to do anything about it since i drove it off the lot that day.
Purchased 2003 infiniti m45 in december of 2009.the fuel gauge did not read correctly as of purchase date, always reading half full to full.dealer inspection found that entire cluster needs replaced.
First incident, gauge level states tank full, ran out of gas in the middle of the street.second incident, gauge states full and car shut off.
I was driving my 2003 infiniti m45 on or around june 30, 2011 at 65mph onhighway 290 near the wolf rd exit in chicago.all of a sudden while i was in the left lane, my car started jerking heavily and my power steering went off making the car really hard to steer.i looked at the dash and saw no warning msgs come on.... I carefully veered my car through heavy traffic towards the right lane and shoulder and i barely missed a truck coming in the far right lane!as i got to the shoulder and caught my bearings and was about to call an emergency tow truck a cop came and asked what happened.i explained it to him and he said maybe you need some gas?i looked at my dash and my fuel gauge still showed almost half a tank available but i took his advice.he took me to the closest gas station to get gas, we went back and filled the car and started the car which started fine now!i was in disbelief that my fuel gauge was broken and it almost got me into a heavy accident that might have severely injured me!!since then, my fuel gauge has not come back to normal and i don't have the extra money needed to fix it as i do believe its infiniti/nissan's job to fix it!!
Thank you.
2003 infiniti m45 fuel gauge reads full when it is empty.
Infiniti m45 2003 gas levelnot giving the right reading. Showing full when it's not. Going from half full to full. You never know when you will run out of gas.
Put car in reverse and stopped. Put in forward and check engine soon came up on screen. Went to auto zone to check code and they saidfuel level sender was bad. I then found on internet that numerous other owners had same problem. I contacted infinite of orland ,service department and they said they knew nothing about this problem.
I have had my infiniti m45 vehicle only four months now and i just realized about3 weeks ago that the gas gauge wasn't reading correctly and i did some research on it. Going on a lot of forums, i've been getting many people saying this happens to their vehicle. I went down to ask about a price for the part and job and i was told 900 or so. I do not believe it is fare to myself and many other infiniti drivers to have to spend that much on an already great luxury vehicle. I been stuck 2 times on the highway and one time with my daughter. This was my gift after a rough deployment and i believe if i should get charged it should only be the labor work for an hour or so.
Gauge said half a tank but was empty car cut off on highway dam near killed me i was in fast lane.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. Whenever the contact added fuel to the gasoline tank he noticed that the fuel gauge would display the incorrect amount of gasoline. The vehicle was not diagnosed. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 72000.
The car stopped in the middle of the street because it was out of gas, but the indicator was showing about 40% of a full gas tank.there was no "low fuel" warning before the car ran out of gas.this is the second time the fuel indicator failed; the same problem was repaired 2 or 3 years ago.
Fuel gauge does not show correct amount of fuel resulting in running out of gas. I have been dealing with the problem for almost 2 years. Now the service engine light came up and the issue requires fixing in order to pass emission control. This is well known problem, but infiniti refuses fixing it.

The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. While stationary and while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning on several occasions. The contact stated that there was a complete loss of power. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and was able to restart the vehicle. On another occasion, the contact stated that the engine indicator illuminated and "check your fuel cap" displayed on the instrument panel. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failures. The contact cited nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling) as a possible cause of the failures, as reported by a code reader. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the fuel gauge inaccurately displayed that the fuel tank was full. As a result, the vehicle stalled due to insufficient fuel in the vehicle. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v088000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was 200,000.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the fuel gauge indicated the fuel tank was full at all times. The vehicle ran out of fuel due to the failure. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer bennett infiniti (1060 pa-315 wilkes barre pa) was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The contact indicated that the fuel gauge had previously been repaired however, the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 159,000.
Since buying the 45m. I have ran out of gas while the gas gauge level reads full.the first time i was simply drive the a busy highway going about 40mph. The car just suddenly begin to sputter then came to a stop while other cars tried to avoid hitting me.
This is the second time that the gas gauge has malfunction first was a few years ago while car was under warranty. I remember it was a sunday and i was on my way home from church with my sons. I was driving about 40mph when car stalled.this time i was on i 95 when the car stalled.both times the gauge read that the car had a half full tank. I have no had it repaired as of yet.
When in motion the engine stall without warning
This vehicle randomly will shut down all mechanical systems simultaneously at any speed which creates an extremely dangerous situation, especially around other traffic, which could result in a crash. The car's "service engine soon" light appears, the car immediately loses engine power, brakes, and steering and many times will not restart immediately which puts the passengers at risk of a crash in any situation. These are the exact same symptoms of a recall issued by infiniti for the 2003 m45, however, infiniti insists that this vehicle is not included in the recall.
Traveling at about 60 mph on a state route, the car shut down.no power, no dash lights, inability to use turn signals to indicate the intention of changing lanes to the right and onto the side of the road, which nearly caused a collision as the car slowed to crawl.once pulled onto the side of the road, after many attempts the car started and we drove it home, the symptons suggest the cam positioning sensor is to blame, which seems to have happened to other motorists.

Purchased new inf. M45 when car reached about 24000 miles. I took it in to be serviced.infiniti service was unable to reproduce problem.would call on several occasions informing dealership that their product was defective.i finally got tons of problems (perforated leather seats had mesh coming, cd changer jammed, ac compressor busted, belts on the motor had to be replaced, glove box had to be readjusted, hood had to be readjusted to stop the squeeking when closing the doors, front window guides and stabilizer-inner door had to be replaced to stop all the squealing when letting the windows up/down) and schedule another visit to see if the engine/exhaust problem could be repaired.the dealership had my car for 3 weeks...and cleaned out the combustion chamber at their cost and the day i got it back, it was still smoking out the pipes.the dealership says they know nothing else to do but to replace the motor if it's consuming oil.i found these other complaints which already state that infiniti knows about this oil consumption problem and appears to be giving me the run around.if the motor is replaced with another nissan v8, the same problem is likely to reoccur. Their product is defective.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the driver seat leaned to the left while occupied. The vehicle was taken to dealer where the technician diagnosed that the seat rail needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.updated 4/15/15
The bracket on the left side of the drivers front seat has broken. The seat now sags several inches in the left/ rear side. This is placing substantially more stress on the right side's bracket. This bracket failed while driving the car.
The contact owns a 2003 infiniti m45. The contact stated that the front driver's seat failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 85,372.

I was driving on a highway at a aproximately 75 mph when all of the sudden the rear back glass blew off the vehicle. I felt a little shake and mu rear back glass was gone.

I am the owner of a white 2003 infiniti m45.a few years ago, i noticed a small chip right above he windshield on the roof of the car.i contacted infiniti back then to see if there were any recalls, but there were not.at this point, there is no paint covering the top of the vehicle.as of today, infiniti still has no recalls/campaigns for chipped paint of this particular model.but, i did find during research that there new models with defective (white) paint that has been reported.the vehicle was never damage, i have seen a couple other 2003 m45's with chipping paint.which would leave be to believe that there must have been defective paint.my vehicle is unrecognizable.this vehicle had been garaged kept and not driven for 1-2 years, yet the paint continued to peel.i got an estimate to have the car painted, which would have been close to $4,000!i would just like for this to be researched through your agency if at all possible.thanks

While i was driving this vehicle, it had shut off while i was driving and i lost all power. It started back up like normal. This has happened twice and i'm afraid this could happen while i'm on the highway with my family.i see there was a recall involving this but not for my vehicle. This has happened to me just recently.
The consumer touched the light switch stalk to adjust the headlight setting then the headlights and dashboard lights immediately went out. The brakes engaged and the vehicle jerked severely. The brakes released and all the lights turned back on. 30 mins later it occurred again. The cruise control malfunction light illuminated. Updated 07/16/2013
The vehicle has an unsafe operating characteristic.when calling for immediate acceleration, you get nothing for several seconds.it has a significant lag in throttle response, up to 4 seconds, which when lane changing or merging causes a significant safety problem.we have been nearly rear-ended on several occasions.
