Srs light is blinking and dealer is unable to fix the issue and i am not sure whether i am safe in case of accident or what are the repercussions of this blinking light

Ref: nthsa recall 16v-244 part 573 of april 28, 2016 stating i would receive an "interim notification letter" within 60 days.did not receive.it has been nearly six months and dealer states parts are not available.given this is a failure of the ocs, is this vehicle safe to drive?

The passenger side airbag "off" light comes on intermittently when there is a front adult passenger in the seat.both myself (145#) and my 13 year old son (115#) have had it occur on multiple occasions.i have taken it to the dealer twice (7/8/13 and 1/6/14) and was told the dealership could not duplicate the problem.dealership stated the infiniti corporate office flew in a technician to look at the car.since light did not come on for them, they refused to replace any parts.light came back on while my son was seated in a proper position (infiniti was nice enough to provide me with a "how to" sit on the seat article) on 1/14/14 and i videotaped it on my cellphone for proof.i will be mailing a certified letter to infiniti for violation of the lemon law since this equipment failure could result in serious bodily injury or death.

With full size passenger in the passenger seat, the airbag warning light is on even after raising off the seat and relocating in the seat.if engine is restarted the light goes off.three attempts by the dealer to remedy with no results. This light was even lit as i picked up vehicle when recall was performed, which was the second attempt to remedy. Today was the third attempt at which they found no codes and no defective part, so no effort was made to repair but the light was on last week.

Front passenger air bag indicator light goes on with passenger in the seat.numerous visits and calls to dealer and manufacturer, mfg field engineer and problem still exists after recall. If passenger shifts weight in seat or from an accident avoidance air bag may not be deployed.

The contact owned a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while waiting for traffic to move, another vehicle driving at approximately 80 mph rear ended the vehicle. None of the air bags deployed. The police was present at the scene and police report was filed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot then picked up by the insurance and labeled as destroyed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

Front passenger airbag light comes on randomly while driving with adult passenger sitting weighing more than 100 lb in proper position and light stays on for upto 30mins.this is serious safety issue putting safety of passengers at risk. Infiniti failed to address this issue after repeated complaints and diagnosis.

Passenger airbag light states off when a person is sitting in seat.. Suv had recall to fix theproblembut every so often it still happens.. Very worried airbag wont deploy in accident.. Dealer does not know how to refix this problem.. Please help.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis and a zero point reset was performed on the vehicle. After the repair was performed the failure recurred immediately. The vehicle was returned to the dealer. The contact was informed that the vehicle was operating as designed. The manufacturer was notified and stated that within ten days they would let him know whether a full refund would be issued for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 2,800.

This vehicle has been exhibiting intermittent passenger airbag on/off when a passenger is seated on the passenger seat. The passenger airbag off light comes on 40% of the time when a passenger weighing 120 lbs is seated on the passenger seat. This is a serious safety issue when a collision happens if 50% of the time an airbag will not deploy. Dealership confirms this is normal operation of the vehicle when someone weighing 120 - 130lbs is seated in passenger seat. I have video proof of passenger airbag off light turning on all of the sudden when driving at a highway at 80 mph.

The passenger air bag warning light illuminates (i.e., the warning light indicates that the airbag is off) even though there is an adult passenger sitting in the front passenger seat and that adult passenger is properly seated and wearing a seat belt. This issue has been reported by many infiniti jx owners online at www.inifintijxforum.comthe danger is that we do not know if it is the warning light that is faulty (i.e., airbag will actually deploy in an accident) or if the airbag sensor is faulty (i.e., airbag will not deploy in an accident).

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the passenger's side air bag warning light illuminated with the seat occupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection but they stated that they could not diagnose the cause of the failure because the air bag warning light was not illuminated at the time of diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.

I received recall letter but lost it

My jx35 passenger airbag deactivation light turns on randomly. I took my automobile to the dealer at least four times and they couldn't reproduce it. I recorded several videos of this issue where mywife or even myself is in the passenger seat and the deactivation air bag light turns onwhile the car is in motion. A big safety problem. Also experiencing a problem with the city mpg, i obtaining an average of 10mpg.

Normal sized adult sitting in the passenger seat, less than 200 lbs, air bag indicator is lit indicating air bag is off and not functioning. Took back for recall, they said nothing needed to be done. Dealer claims air bag is functioning normally.when i called customer care and told them i had no confidence that the airbag would deploy in the case of an accident, her response was "my first line of defense is a seat belt."really?what's the point of having an airbag then?

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while the passenger was seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag warning light illuminated on and off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on multiple occasions but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The contact mentioned that the dealer replaced the front passenger side airbag sensors but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000.

Passenger side air bag light on with an adult seated.the dealer said no codes no problem found. The air bag light will go out after several miles. It has been in 3 or 4 times to the dealer and not repaired or any parts replaced.unsafe.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the passenger air bag warning light illuminated while the passenger seat was occupied but did not illuminate when the seat was occupied by a lighter passenger. The contact also stated that all the warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three different occasions but the failure recurred. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance other than a formal complaint. The contact was also advised that the seat belts would protect her. The failure and current mileage was 2,000. The consumer stated the dealer replaced the air bag control until, that they claimed would stop the air bag light from illuminating. The consumer stated the problem was only remedied for a short period of time. Also, the abs light illuminated. The dealer replaced a faulty abs sensor.

Vehicle continues to have issues with the passenger airbag light coming on, despite the passenger seat being occupied by adult passenger.dealership and infiniti tech have been shown videos, yet they repeatedly say "can't duplicate the problem".we have asked for a buy back, and have been denied (twice).consumer affairs will provide no explanation, but repeatedly says it is working as designed.the bottom line is this... Infiniti does not care!as with others on here, they have told us to make sure we read the manual on how to "properly sit in the seat" and if it doesn't work turn the vehicle off and on to "recalibrate".really?$40,000+ vehicle and you have to sit on the side of the road and turn it on and off multiple times just to get it to work the way it should?they also told us that you can't have anything in the seatback pocket (then why have a seatback pocket?).regardless, we have taken the vehicle in at least 10 times now and have done exactly what they have told us to do and it still does not work properly.unfortunately, it looks like the only way they will do anything is when someone is killed because their system did not function properly.nhtsa, please do something!this is not right and they aren't listening.my dealership told me the reason they won't do a buyback is because this is a "known" issue and there would be too many to buy back.

Adult female approx 115 lbs sitting in front passenger seat when air bag light stayed on, indicating air bag would not deploy in event of a crash. This has continued despite bringing back to dealership, which advises working as intended.

Takata recalli was noticing the passenger air bag notification is off when someone is in the passenger seat.i decided to search the vin to see if there was a recall.

My infinity jx35 has had multiple issues in regards to the passenger side airbag system as well as the fuel gage.i have had my vehicle to the dealership for repairs 3 times for both issues and the issues still have not been resolved.the passenger side airbag does not detect my wife when she is in the seat.infinity first told me it was a recall issue and now they don't know.the fuel gage moves around sporadically and does not give an accurate measure of fuel in the car.the dealership first replaced a sensor in the fuel tank twice which did not fix the issue, and then the entire dashboard systems and still it has failed to work correctly.i attempted to get infinity to repurchase my vehicle but was denied even though they do not have a solution for my vehicle.

Same serious problem as noted by many other consumers on http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2013/infiniti/jx35/.passenger airbag light remains lit indicating airbag will not deploy in accident while adult passenger is seated.this issue was noted on the day of delivery (1/18/2013).car was taken back for a fix.report from dealership indicated it was probably due to location of the weight of the passenger while seated as they could not duplicate the condition.when we went back to pick up the car, we noticed that the issue has not gone away as the light still stays on (i.e. Passenger side airbag is off) even though a 124lb adult is seated.this is a serious safety issue and should be investigated immediately before any fatalities happen.most importantly, we had my wife sit in another jx35 on the lot and passenger side airbag light still stayed on.this is clearly a systemic design issue and not isolated to one car.car is currently at the dealership and they are trying to confirm from infiniti if there is some way to lower the weight threshold so lighter people will be detected and airbag will be activated.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the front passenger's seat was occupied when the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the seat was modified to make it more sensitive to weight. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 13v069000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 3,000.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,644. Parts distribution disconnect.

While a normal sized person was in passenger seat, air bag light turned on, thus rendering air bag off and non operational if needed in a crash.additionally, if a person was seated in the car passenger seat, got out of car, and then returned to seat, the air bag light would turn on and render the air bag non operational when a normal sized person was seated in the passenger seat.car was returned to infinity dealer.they were able to duplicate these situations.they brought their engineer into evaluate car.he states the car air bag is functioning properly, when it is clearly not.we were told ifa person leaves the vehicle as i described above.that we need to turn car off for air bag to work properly in that situation.it does not state this anywhere in the owner manual.they completely ignored that the passenger seat air bag turns off for no apparent reason when a normal sized person is seat in the seat despite me taking pictures of that scenario and showing them video evidence that it does such.i have returned the vehicle to the dealer 4 times.they have replaced the sensor recall (nhtsa campaign number: 13v069000) in the passenger seat 3 times without fixing the defect on my car.they are now telling me that the air bag is working properly, but it is clearly not.this is a serious safety issue that nissan/infinity is ignoring.there are many documented case reports on internet of same situation.

The passenger side airbag stays on with a passenger seated some times.factory rep said after testing it that it is working as designed.it is not a reliable system it may work normal for two or three weeks and then stay on three times in two days.

The passenger airbag light turns on when my wife sits in the seat. She weighs 100 pounds and the airbag should not be turned off. This occurs about 85% of the time which is unacceptable. Clearly this is a safety issue. The dealership and infiniti have not offered an explanation or resolution after repeated inquiries.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag warning lamp illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician advised that they needed to update the software. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 11,000.

The air bag sensor deactivation light in the infiniti jx35 comes on when my wife (who weights 130 pounds) or any female passenger of similar size sits in the front passenger seat.sometimes the air bag deactivation light stays on for as long as 15 minutes.this has been a consistent issue ever since i purchased the vehicle in july 2012. No matter how my wife sits, this is a problem.however, when i sit in the passenger seat (i weigh 200 pounds), there are no problems.this is a widespread complaint regarding the jx 35 as evidenced by a web search.however, infiniti dangerously attempts to blame it on the way people sit in the seat.i have filed a complaint with infiniti's office of consumer affairs (case #12036945) and taken the vehicle twice to the passenger infiniti in dealership in alexandria without any resolution.there is an obvious design defect with the air bag sensors in the front passenger seat, which creates a dangerous situation as the air bags are, at times, deactivated, for passengers weighing 130 or even more pounds.i greatly appreciate your assistance with this matter.

After servicing, as in recall. In april 2016 for airbag light coming on with full weight person in passenger seat, the problem still exists.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer six to eight times to be serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags, electrical system). The contact stated that the recall remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact experienced a failure, but the specifics were not available. The failure milage was 15,000.

Vehicle indicates passenger airbag off when passenger in seat with seat belt on. Airbag light is flashing. This is occurring while driving.

The passenger airbag light comes on and off randomly with the adult passenger sitting on the seat.in another word, the airbag is disabled or enabled.this is a serious safety issue, and the manufacture infiniti consumer affair team cannot provide explanation and a solution to address the issue.

The warning light that indicates that the passenger airbag is deactivated illuminates while the passenger seat is occupied by an adult.i returned the vehicle to the dealer and was told that they could not duplicate the problem and nothing was wrong with the car.the light continued to illuminate, so i returned the car to the dealer in august of 2014 and was told after 5 days that they tested the system and cannot find anything wrong with it. I even presented the service manager a video that my wife took on a recent trip of the light clearly illuminated while she sat in the seat. The service manager told me that even though the light illuminates, the airbag is still activated in the computer system. This is ridiculous, how am i supposed to know if the vehicle is safe to carry passengers?i have never been notified by infiniti that there is a recall for this problem.i only found the recall after searching on the internet.i am the original owner of the vehicle. I plan to escalate this situation with infiniti.there is a clear problem with the design of this vehicle that is putting the owner's passengers at risk.please force infiniti to address this ongoing defect.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving at 40 mph, the passenger side air bag warning light illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times. The technician was unable to diagnose or repaired the failure. The vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

I am a 140 lb woman. When i sit in the passenger seat, even properly, the airbag light has intermittently turned on indicating there's no passenger or the passenger is out of position. It often (in the first month) happened at the beginning of a drive, and the recurred at times, perhaps lower speeds. Recently, (9/23) it happened at a higher speed, and well into our drive. It stayed lit for a while,i tried to adjust my position to see if it was a sensor error. Ultimately, it went off, but it remains sketchy, although happens at less frequency than it did on initially purchasing the car.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While an adult passenger was seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag warning light illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 3,000. ..updated 10/19/15

Within the initial 12k miles of owning this jx35, we've experienced a serious problem with the jx35 passenger air bag indicator light.my wife is approx. 130 lbs. And the light comes on numerous times indicating that the airbag will not function during an accident.this is a serious and significant safety issue which nissan has been unable to fix.it's been recalled twice and has been to the dealership over five (5) times for this specific problem.it is currently at the dealership and we've told them to buy back the car.we have filed a formal compliant with nissan customeraffairs, complaint # 15766361, and will await their comments.if that fails, we will enact the texas lemon law to have the car returned.just today, the service director said they were able to replicate the issue when one of their female service technicians rode in the passenger front seat, sitting sideways on 1/2 of the seat.then, they went on to say the light did in fact come on, came to a red light, waited seven seconds and the light went off.they said if this happens, you should come to a complete stop so that it recalibrates itself.i asked if they thought this was normal.they said, "yes".i then asked, if the light is on, and someone hits the front end of our car and my occupant suffers death or serious injury, do i then get my "seven seconds" back before the crash to reset the seat?complete and utter nonsense.these dealers know exactly what is going on with this car.they are putting all of us at risk who use the front passenger seat.they had the audacity to accuse my wife of not sitting properly in the seat.how sexist!no other vehicle we've owned or rented has ever demonstrated this issue.this car is a lemon and nissan must be held accountable.nhtsa tests the car with airbags, our car doesn't have that works correctly and they refuse to fix it.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag indicator illuminated intermittently. The dealer repaired the vehicle according to nhtsa campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

We bought this car, used, on january 18, 2020 and an ibs light turned on a couple weeks after i bought it but later turned off. Now february 22 the airbag light started to blink as i was driving on a city street. A week later, today february 29 it is still continuing to blink. I have seen many recalls about this issue on other 2013 infiniti jx35s. Also, before i bought it the car dealership took it for a check up at the infiniti dealership and the air bag issue was also a problem then.

While driving the car at approximately 30mph, the passenger airbag was disabled by the sensor indicating that the passenger did not weigh enough to activate.the passenger weighs 200lbs.my local dealership has been contacted about the problem.the car has been in for service for this specific problems 4 times since the car was purchased.the airbag sensor has been replaced in the passenger seat and a recall was performed to recalibrate the sensor.despite these efforts, the problem remains.infiniti is unable to correct this potentially fatal problem.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact received a notice for nhtsa campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags, electrical system) and the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three occasions. The contact stated that the air bag light began to illuminate on the instrument panel after the recall repair was made. The dealer stated that the vehicle was operating as designed; however, another mechanic informed the contact that the seat cushion needed to be replaced to correct the issue. The contact felt that the manufacturer did not repair the vehicle adequately. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The passenger-side airbag does not always activate when there is an adult passenger in that seat.the indicator light comes on about 50-60% of the time (indicating that the airbag will not deploy in the event of a collision) which puts that passenger at a heightened risk for serious injury, or death.

Infiniti did a recall on passenger side airbag.i had no problem with the airbag when i brought it in, but now it's not working properly.the airbag off light turns on while someone is sitting in the seat and turns off when someone less than one hundred pounds is in the seat.it has been inconsistent and unsafe.i've brought the car back with no result.

The airbag sensor for the front passenger seat is not working well or accurately. Even with a person who is 115 lbs and 5'3" in the passenger seat, the sensor will go on and off, not committing to either activating the airbags or not. The sensor is not consistent and it is extremely concerning that passengers will not have the protection of an airbag should there be an accident.this has been going on since we first owned the car in summer of 2013. We have brought it to the attention of the dealer multiple times. They assure us all software is up to date from the manufacturer and no further action is required.

2nd passenger airbag light is always on.no front passenger airbag protection.had a recall r1606 done, but trouble came right back.appears there is another recall pc217 for more extensive repairs but infiniti says my vin not included.it sure appears it should be included, exact troubles. This appears to be a huge nissan issue.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the driver of the vehicle was 45 mph and crashed into a tree. The contact, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained a fractured sternum due to the front passenger's side air bag failing to deploy. A police report was filed of the incident. The manufacturer was not made aware of the incident of the air bag failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 8,400.

While driving my infiniti jx35 i have noticed that the air bag light, indicating that the air bag is turned off, will come on while my wife is sitting in the passengers seat. She weighs about 150lbs so the air bag should always be on with her sitting in the seat.

The passenger side air bag light remains on even though the seat is occupied. That means that the air bag is not operational even though the seat is occupied. I noticed that there are a lot of complaints about this issue.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag light remained illuminated although the seat was occupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the weight sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The passenger side air bag sensor was repaired on numerous occasions. However, the failure persisted and the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 500.## vin passed ## infiniti jx35 2012 ##..updated 09/30/147updated 3/2/2015

Passenger air bag sensor remains illuminated with or with out a passenger in the passenger side seat.bad sensor with that make model and year.the sensor turned on very soon after purchasing this vehicle from drivers mart.

Have noticed that the passenger air bag off warning light comes on intermittently with an adult passenger seated in the passenger seat.this seems to be a common problem with several of the infiniti jx35 models.this is a serious concern as the air bag in not armed, providing no protection to the front seat passenger.i plan to take the vehicle to the dealership on monday.so far i have not had a recall notice from infiniti on this issue.

Passenger air bag sensor remains illuminated with or with out a passenger in the passenger side seat. Bad sensor with that make model and year. The vehicle has previously been recalled for this exact same issue but the problem persists.please issue another recall!

Air bag sensor turns off intermittently. It will happen in the middle of a drive. Took car to dealer to have it serviced. They told me the sensor was reset and if it happened again they would replace it.when it happened again about a month later i got a different story. I turned it in to the dealer and later in the same day i heard that nissan had recalled the air bag sensor on 5 models, including the jx35. When i picked it up, the service department gave me the same story, they recalibrated the sensor and to bring it back if there were more problems and it would be replaced.

There is an intermitent problem with the functioning of the passenger airbag. Approximately 50% of the time that there is a passenger sitting in the passenger seat the passenger airbag is turned off. These are adult passengers with weights from 125lbs to 185lbs and heights 5ft 7in to 6ft 6in. Infiniti engineers have been unable to fix the problem. The passenger airbags should be switched on all the time with adult passengers therefore this is a serious safety issue. As all the passenger seat sensors have been checked and are ok this raises serious questions about the integrity of the computer systems controlling the car.

Vehicle has had 2 air bag recalls, both recall repairs were completed at dealership. The passenger airbag light continues to intermittently turn on indicating the passenger air bag is off while an adult passenger of 140-180+ lbs is occupying the seat. The car was taken into the dealership to repair, after 4 days they advised me they were able to replicate the problem but they didn't know how to fix it and would contact the engineers to make repair. After 8 days in the shop i filed a complaint with infiniti consumer affairs, they opened a case and contacted me on day 9. The dealership finally called back on day 9 and stated the service manager dan would be taking care of the car and would provide better communication and get the car fixed. No call for 5 more days from the dealership regarding the status. Regional specialist from consumer affairs called back (day 14) and stated dealership is now saying they were unable to replicate the issue and the service tech previously "mis-spoke". I have escalated my complaint at infiniti corporate. The dealership still has not called (day 14) to tell me what is going on with my car. This vehicle is not safe as you cannot be sure if the passenger airbag will deploy upon collision. This vehicle should be removed from the market until these major safety issues are corrected.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light illuminated while the passenger seat was occupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the contact was not aware of the repairs that needed to be performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v069000 (air bags). The approximate failure and current mileage was 12,000.updated 7/1/13updated 7/31/13

Moving at freeway speed, with an adult passenger in the passenger seat, airbag light came on indicating airbag was not functioning. I have a video of the event - light on - as it happened. This was less than 48 hours after an infiniti technician said that the passenger airbag was operating "as intended". I have taken the vehicle in for this problem repeatedly and have even shown them the videos taken as it occurred. Unless they intended to sell a new car without functioning airbag, they are covering up a widespread defect or something. They refuse to address the issue, even when shown a video of it happening.they said their diagnostic tools show it is operating as intended but will not provide an explanation as to why the airbag is coming on...even when shown the video.

Passenger airbag sensor is extremely sensitive to front passenger position.if individual does not sit absolutely perfect, the indicator light comes on indicating the airbag is off.i am becoming very concerned.

Right front passenger airbag intermittently fails to turn "on" when an adult passenger is seated fully within the seat.on some occasions the airbag will turn "on" (indicator light is off) when an adult passenger is present and then will switch to "off" (indicator light turns on).attempts to reposition and redistribute weight to get the system to turn back on have been made but unsuccessful.then, minutes later the system simply switches back to "on".this is an intermittent problem with the passenger detection system in the seat and can result in the airbag not deploying in a frontal collision.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the passenger side air bag warning light illuminated while the passenger's seat was occupied. The contact stated that the warning light was an indication the passenger's side air bag would not deploy in the event of a crash. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test and although the dealer could not generate a failure code, the dealer stated that the air bag warning light should not have illuminated when the passenger's seat was occupied. The contact called the manufacturer and was advised that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The failure mileage was 4,696.updated 02/26/13*lj updated 03/1/2013

We have taken our 2013 infiniti jx35, manufactured in 9/12, to the dealer three times in 7 months to have them inspect the passenger airbag sensor.when passengers (full-sized adults) sit in the seat, occasionally the dashboard light indicates the airbag is not operational.the dealer and infiniti refuse to acknowledge or correct the issue, despite an active recall on this very issue for over 80,000 nissan/infiniti vehicles.infiniti insists our vin is not among the recalled vehicles, yet refuses to provide the exact date of manufacture in order for us to independently check nhtsa records.

The passenger side airbag seat sensors are calibrated wrong.it does not recognize my 105 pound wife as a person, and therefore turns the airbag off.i raised this issue with infiniti at least 3 years ago, and they told me that she must just be sitting on the seat wrong.well, just about a month ago, they finally issued a recall.we took the car in today to get it fixed, and they told us the fix wouldn't be ready until september.meanwhile, my wife is pregnant and has no airbag in the passenger side of the vehicle.infiniti needs to get a recall fix ready immediately.

The air bag sensor on the passenger side repeatedly shows "air bag off" with passenger in the seat. Despite repeated complaints to pepe infiniti dealership and to infiniti customer service, the only answer i'm getting is that the current recall does not cover my vin number. It is a serious issue with potentially fatal consequences.

My jx 35 was recalled (14v-138) to fix the occupant classification system. I had the recall "fix" performed on the vehicle.when passengers weighing between 105-125 pounds sit in the frong passenger seat, the light comes on indicating that air bag is turned off. The dealer (fields infiniti of glencoe, il) inspected the vehicle and said that it perormed the recall according to infiniti's/nissan's specifications and there's nothing further the dealership can do unless the vehicle undergoes another recall. There's clearly a design/engineering flaw in the airbag seat sensor system, as this problem doesn't exist with any of other vehicles i've driven (bmw, audi, gmc).this is unacceptable because it puts my wife (and other potential front passenger riders)in jeopardy in the event of a head-on collision.please have nissan recall this vehicle again to fix the problem once and for all, as others are complaining of the same problem with their post-recalled infiniti jx35 and qx60 and nissan pathfinders.

Passenger air bag sensor - indicating off with adult in seat.i searched any recall on the vin oon "https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/"to see if there are any recall, but 0 recalls.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the passenger air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on numerous occasions for inspection but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000. Updated 05/12/14 mathe consumer stated the update was completed on monday april 21, but did not fix the problem.

My 2013 jx 35,,been recalled for air bag malfunction,,keeps flashing, brought to dealer twice but after few weeks comes back,,as of now flashing wont stop,,means if theres accident worried might not work,,let me know if the air bag work with these flashing,,then its ok,,but if it doesnt response then i need your assistance to get it fix

The passenger airbag is "off" most of the time that i have a passenger in the car.when i talked to the dealer and infinity consumer affairs, i was told that the car meets industry standards and the airbag should be off when a passenger weighs less than 120 pounds in the seat.in the event of an accident, the passenger would not have a front airbag which severely lessens the safety of the car.the dealership told me there is nothing that they can do.having owned a mercedes and a volvo in the past, i know that this is not common in all luxury vehicles.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the passenger's side air bag warning light illuminated and remained illuminated while the passenger's seat was unoccupied. The contact spoke to infiniti of apex (1900 laura duncan rd, apex, nc 27523) where she was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The contact also called the manufacturer and was given the same information as the dealer. Upon investigation, the contact liked her failure to nhtsa campaign number: 15v681000 (air bags) however, the vehicle was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 137,000.

The front passenger " airbag off " light came on while adult weighing 140 lbs. Was sitting in front passenger seat & stayed on while car was being driven. This incident has happened at least 15 times. I have over 8 video documents of the occurrence & have taken the car to the infiniti dealership at least 7 times to address this issue. The service dept. Has performed occupancy sensor reprogramming multiple times, but the issue did not get resolved. On 10/31/14, the infiniti service replaced the passenger side seat bottom frame. This did not fix the airbag sensor problem.infiniti corporate sent an event monitor that infiniti service installed on 12/22/14. On 1/30/15,infiniti removed the event monitor & it was sent to infiniti corporate. Their response was that it is working the way it should. Even though a national recall was sent out on the issue, infiniti refuses to do anymore to properly resolve the safety issue.

Passenger airbag light remains lit indicating airbag will not deploy in accident while adult passenger is seated. This issue has continued after 4 repairs from infiniti in maple shade nj.car now has 9000 +/-miles. And is back in for same repair. Replaced entire seat assembly, computer modules, sensors, now onto another computer module.all of this while being told:" we can't duplicate it please come in and drive with our technician""120 pound female may just be on the cusp of not airbag deploying" and the best "air bags are really only a supplemental system for safety, your seatbelt will protect you in the case of an accident".all of this came from service managers at this location.my car is now back in and been there for 9 days.

Air bags: occupant sensor

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times because the front passenger's side air failed to recognize when the passenger's seat was occupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure, however the failure was not corrected and the contact was not aware if the air bag sensor was replaced.the manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 13v069000 (air bags). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was not available and the current mileage was 7,000. Updated 10/22/13

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the air bag off warning indicator illuminated. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). The contact called pepe infiniti (located at 300 central ave, white plains, ny 10606, (914) 750-4117) and informed them of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 77,000.'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

The passenger side airbag does not operate when my wife sits in the seat.according to federal regulations, an airbag must be operational for woman who weigh 110 lbs.my wife weighs approximately 118 pounds and is 5 feet 4 inches.i took the car to the dealer on numerous occassions.they "zero-point" balanced the seat but it still did not detect that my wife was sitting in the seat.we took a ride with the service manager of the dealership who observed the problem and agreed that the car was defective.i have numerous videos also documenting the problem.he also indicated that he contacted the infiniti home service office who stated that they did not have a fix for the problem.interestingly, we tested several jx35's all had the same problem.we also tested the new infinti sedan which also had the same problem. Lastly, we tested the qx56 and it worked perfectly.the service manager told us that they moved the sensors in the seat for the jx35 and that is causing the problem.i should note that we also tested a mercedes, lexus, cadillac and bmw and all of these vehicles registered that my wife was in the passenger seat and the airbag was operational. The dealer told me to contact infiniti directly because there was nothing they could do.infiniti customer service basically ignored my claim despite the fact that the dealer called them on my behalf and confirmed the defect. From reviewing other complaints it is clear that infinit has a disgn defect concerning the sensors for their passenger side airbag.however, at this time they are simply ignoring this issue.i hope that this complaint will help save a persons life as infinit does not seem to care abour safety.

The warning light for back up collision intervention system and the blind spot warning (bsw) comes on suddenly while driving. It comes on at different speeds and happens on the highway driving as well as city driving. The infinti dealer in tampa fl cannot fix the problem and hence comes up with reasons and false diagnosis. They also blame that the vehicle has had some body work done in the bumper which is not the case as the vehicle has never been for any body work since purchased from the same dealer.

I have replaced the battery in my 2013 infiniti jx35 3-4 times. Dealership continues to say this is normal. Recently, multiple exterior light bulbs have gone out and the 'instrument cluster' suddenly went dark while i was driving. I cannot see meters like gas, speed, etc. I cannot hear or see my blinker or headlight indicators. Additionally, all the power controls including speed control no longer work. I am concerned there is a significant electrical safety hazard. I no longer feel safe driving this car with my children. There are many reports of similar claims for the 2013 infiniti jx35 electrical system online. I would like infiniti to take responsibility for knowingly putting people in danger by refusing to acknowledge and fix a known problem with this car.

The entire electrical system failed and overheated. This automobile could never again be considered safe in our opinion. The vehicle has been at infiniti of tampa since early november 4, 2013. We were old today that the dealership does not even expect to receive the parts until after december 1st, 2013. This could be a ploy to cover the extensive repairs that may be needed or an attempt to try to keep from replacing the 10 month old defective vehicle with less than 5,000 miles on it!!!this vehicle needs to be replaced with a brand new vehicle of the same color in & out and all the equipment and accessories that were on the vehicle we purchased as brand new!!! infiniti is of course stalling resolution and the dealer just wants us to pay up and buy a new car w/o consideration of the fact that the present vehicle is defective!!

The entire electronic system went dead. A connected cell phone became too hot to touch! every electronic component failed! no speed or any indicators of any kind worked. Got vehicle home into garage and left on ca trip. On return scheduled service appointment but the jx35 was dead and towed to the dealer on 11/5/2013 who supplied a loaner car and indicted a computer needed to be replaced or about 2 days to repair. Today on 11/11/2013 still no word on repairs! stalled on basis that parts are not available! due to the heat generated in the cell phone the fire potential was great! we requested that infiniti buy back this 10 month old vehicle with under 5,000 miles and are awaiting their response! beware of the 2013 jx35 it may have a faulty computer that is a potential fire hazard!!!!! our major concern is that any repair would just be temporary till the next electrical problem due to the heat the malfunction generated!

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving approximately 10 mph, the entire instrument panel failed to function. In addition, the odometer, the fuel gauge, and the tachometer became inoperative. The failure occurred at any speed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle has been serviced 4 times on dash rattle, highly impairments with driving distractions. Part of recent dash fix left dash to fall apart (possible job completion failure). Reno dealer forcing me to drive to another location (sacramento, ca, 175 miles 1 way) to get serviced and repaired. Plus said car is in process of being recalled a 5th time! ugh. Just want negotiable refund!

My car was under my carport. Got in my car pressed the start button and my dash panel blinked on and off. I saw the problem turn the car off and the next time the panel was fine. Ran my errands got back in the car and the dash panel went completely out. I have no speedometer, no gas guage, no maintenance notices, no tire pressure warnings, nothing. Also none of the controls on my steering wheel work. My jx35 is a 2013. Just happened all of a sudden. Now the mileage comes up when the door opens and some times the two circles in the dash light up, but the lights shut off when the door is closed. The components do not work, just light up.

Our jx35 electrical ystem overheated and shorted out all displays and electronics. We limped home w/o a speedometer, directional signal indicators, nothing! the car totally dead was towed to infiniti of tampa. Infiniti of tampa promised the vehicle in no more than 2 days. They now tell us parts are backordered and it may be a month beforwe the parts are received! we wrote the bbb and this did get infiniti usa to call us and advised we would be cotacted by a case reolution officer since we called bbb! we did not get a call yet from this new case resolution officer. Infiniti seems to be buying time to avoid facing the facts that the jx35 is a lemon taking over 30 days to repair and they must buy the jx35 back!! we believe the dealer has been trying to repair the extensive electrical damage since the 5th of november and the parts story is a subtrafuge to avoid the buyback by infiniti!!!

While driving down the street i live on, all dash instrument panel shut down.i have no gas, speedometer, mileage, directional feedback or any information that is on thedashboard available.i am now unable to drive my vehicle as it is unsafe to drive without knowing how fast you are going or how much gas is in your car.

As i started the car after a long day of work, i discovered that the dashboard is not functional, completely dead. Blinkers, gas meter, speed meter, cruise, lights did not work. I called brookpark infinity who told me that the fuse was out and replaced it. They did not have any explanation why this happened in a new car that is less one yea old. I am greatly concerned that i got a lemon deal on this car.

While car was in motion, full dashboard instrument panel stopped working. No turn signal indicators, no speedometer, no fuel gauge.

From the first week of purchase many electrical problems mirrors don't return to drive passion, windows while driving go up and down at random then the auto up doesn't work for days then just starts working again dash light go darkgps and radio do not work when cold until after car starts to warm up then electrical slowly returnsseat does not keep memory, luggage rack has been replaced 4 times driver side rack coming completely off, loud squealing noise coming from the fan had to be trailer back to dealer. Dealer said nothing was wrong, tie rod boot burst on drivers side, battery went dead had to be jump started dealer seems to have no answers just excuses or wants to blame me for the many problems.

I leased this vehicle for my wife on 5/26/2012. While traveling, the malfunction indicator light came on the dashboard. We scheduled our initial service for an oil change on saturday 8/18 at 8:30am at legacy infiniti. When i first arrived, i was told that i had to wait or drop off the vehicle. During the visit, i was advised by the service manager, [xxx], that there was a recall on the vehicle. I was advised by the service consultant, [xxx] that the recall was due to a distance sensor pertaining to the cruise control as well as the fuel tank tube which caused the malfunction indicator light to come on. After a two hour visit, the vehicle was returned to me and the malfunction indicator light was no longer on. When returning from church with my family on sunday 8/19, the malfunction indicator light came on once again. I called the service department and spoke to[xxx] on monday 8/20 to advise him of my concern around the safety of this vehicle. My wife drives the vehicle to work and transports my children and i am very concerned with this malfunction. I had to bring in the vehicle on wednesday 8/22. My vehicle was again taken in for service and i was issued a loaner car by the service consultant, [xxx]. I was contacted in the afternoon and told that my vehicle was fixed and i could pick it up that afternoon.my wife drove the vehicle to work on 8/23 and when driving together in theevening, the malfunction indicator light came on once again. We sent a complaint to infiniti customer care and have not received any assistance. We returned the vehicle to service on 8/28.we returned to pick up the vehicle in the evening and was told by the [xxx] that the light may come on again. We are very dissatisfiedthat our new vehicle has a safety concern that the service team cannot correct. After filing a complaint over 1 week, we still have not been contacted!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Rear power door actuator failure on vehicle that is less than 4 years old

I have three issues that i have had within 3 days of buying this certified pre-owned jx35.(1) the vehicle information display (i.e., dashboard panel) stopped working while driving on a major city route leaving me without turn signal capabilities, speedometer, fuel gauge and any vehicle information such as tire pressure, maintenance, etc.the display came back on later and so did the malfunction indicator light.the local infiniti dealership repaired the problem under warranty by replacing a "combination meter."(2) i received a call from a parts representative at the local infiniti dealership who stated that a part associated with the occupant classification system (ocs) recall would be in soon and i should make an appointment to get the ocs repaired.i was a little shocked because during the sales process i specifically asked the sales rep about the recall and was told that the recall issue had been taken care of.based on what the infiniti sales rep told me, i was operating the car under the false assumption that my passengers would be safe.until the ocs is repaired (and nobody seems to know when the ocs parts will actually be in), i have no choice but to put passengers in the back seats as it is a potential danger to drive with a passenger in the front with a deactivated passenger airbag.(3) the illuminated kick place on the driver's side was replaced under warranty.

My 2013 jx35 automatic trunk release is not working properly. When i initiate the button to open the trunk it opens completely and immediately starts to close even if someone is in the trunk area which its suppose to rebound. I have to physically stop the trunk from closing on me and this is not an easy task since the hydraulics and weight of the trunk is heavy.

Dash went blank and total electronics failed. Vehicle towed to infiniti of tampa on 11/5/2013 and nissan usa infiniti division was advised! we requested that the car be declared unsafe to drive and a replacement or buy back by infiniti was needed. Infiniti entered a stalling tactic. Repairs went from one day to 2 days and now we are being told they will not even have parts till after december 1st, 2013. The dealer infiniti of tampa after a little rocky start has been going above and beyond to be helpful and co operative especially with the loaner car assistance! the problem is with nissan usa infiniti division. We reached a point where we wrote the bbb autoline and the attorney general of forida! in response nissan removed themselves and directed us to go to the bbb autoline if further assistance was needed. Nissan usa infiniti division has divorced itself from trying to assist us once we contacted others as a result of their stalling! we had after over 10 days concluded that infiniti usa was never going to do anything but stll us as long as possible! consumer beware of the unsavory tactics of nissan usa infiniti division!!

Fuel gauge claimed 45 miles until empty; however sometime within the next mile, fuel gauge immediately went to "-" and vehicle stalled and was out of gas on highway.fortunately was near off ramp.walked to gas station was able to refill tank, vehicle started immediately.fuel gaugefaulty.

I parked in my drive-way about 9pm on sun, nov 22, 2014. Upon exiting the car, i smelt and saw faint smoke on the passenger side of the car.i walked to that side and saw orange fire behind the fog light in the lower passenger bumper (inside where the bumper has a flat ledge).i ran in the house for a fire extinguisher and my husband and we tried to extinguish the fire several times, but it would re-ignite.when we realized we could not extinguish, we called 911 for the fire dept.we also reconnected the water hose to keep running water over the fire (the hose and pipes had already been wrapped for winter so it took a few minutes).when we returned to the car, the fire had grown and flames started to come out of the gap between the quarter-panel and hood.the water kept the fire under control under the fire dept arrived.the firemen asked if i had any recent work done on the car as they believed the fire was electrical.i then realized i had just had a synthetic oil change done and the passenger fog light replaced the week before on sat, nov 15, 2014.the firemen mentioned there may have been excess grease left on the bulb when changed and that may be what caused the fire, but it is still unknown at this time.i have contacted the auto repair shop and my insurance and both have hired c&i specialist to try to determine the cause.in the meantime, i am submitting this complaint to see if anyone with my vehicle has had a similar issue happen to them to help determine if this is a manufacturer issue or recall issue.any comments or research support would be greatly appreciated.

I changed the battery and replaced the battery posts also and my battery keeps dying unfortunately i don't have the money to pay infiniti just to check and see if it's something electrical. The place where i bought my battery from tested my battery after all i did buy it new and it's good so the guy said it has to be something electrical

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while making a turn, the vehicle lost power without warning. The contact stated that on another occasion, the failure occurred after the vehicle was stopped.the contact mentioned that the failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact also stated that rear passenger side window motor, both master switches on the front and rear driver and passenger sides were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000.

Vehicle died while driving in parking lot and all interior lights began to strobe with an awd failure light. The vehicle would not restart and the front seats started moving. Vehicle battery died while vehicle was in tow and has been at dealership for almost 2 weeks. Previous problems (within days) include seat memory not pairing with key, key not working to unlock hatch.

I called nalley infiniti of marietta to set up a service call in response to nhtsa recall 13v-445.i was transferred to a female service writer.she asked if i hadthis car serviced there in the past.i told her no because the car is new.she told me that they are "waiting on parts" and that i should call another dealership.when i asked her what other dealerships were in the area, she told me i should look online.when i asked if she could call me when the parts came in, she said she could not do that.i was really shocked at her lack of interest in helping me.i called back the next day to try to find out who i spoke to.the receptionist told me that it must have been one of their off-property service writers because there were no female writers on property.i then spoke to my regular service writer, and he set up an appointment for me.he also told me there are no parts involved - it is just a matter of software.i really regret that i did not ask her name the first time; however, i do hope that this matter will be investigated as i feel strongly that she was simply trying to get rid of me so that nalley would not have to do the recall work.please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Our 2013 infiniti jx awd has exhibited repeated loss of power steering while operating the vehicle.the first loss of power steering occurred on about august 26, 2012.the vehicle was returned to the dealer for service, but the problem apparently could not be replicated.on or about september 3, 2012, the vehicle again exhibited a loss of power steering while operating the vehicle.the vehicle was returned to the dealer for service on about september 4, 2012, and was examined by an infiniti field service technician. Following this service, we were informed that the problem had been fixed.on about february 13, 2013, the vehicle again exhibited a loss of power steering and was returned to the dealer for service.

While driving the car (after few minutes after engine start), the entire instrument panel cluster (dashboard) went dead - no panel lights, none of the gauges -temperature, fuel, rpm, speedometer, etc. On the instrument cluster were working. The car ran normally - acceleration, braking, with all the lights (headlight, turning lights, etc.) working -but there was no indication to the driver of these commands, from the instrument dashboard / cluster panel.

During the week of december 29th, my car had the same shuddering noise as described in service bulletin:tsb no. Itb15-012d. The noise coming from the engine area sounded like a bag that was being on the ground during those few days. I brought my car into a local repair shop, thinking it would be brakes since that has been the only issue with the car. However, after driving on the freeway there was a loud noise like something dropped on the ground and my husband was able to pull the vehicle over to the middle fork of the road and the car completely ceased. It no longer moved forward while the engine still ran. We had it towed back to the local repair shop, which was diagnosed as a transmission issue. This was extremely scary where this was a very busy freeway and this was clearly a mechanical defect, since i mostly drive the car locally to pick up my four children. This should be a recall rather than a service bulletin, which almost took our life with this mechanical defect.

The radiator fan motor started making loud noises and soon afterwards broke. The engine started overheating and i barely drove the car to the infinity dealership in coral gables. My infinity has 34,000 miles, but it's been more than 4 years since i bought it and the service department at the dealership in told me that the fan assembly radiator motor is not covered by the engine warranty. The service adviser told me that they see such defects quite often on similar vehicles.

The car suddenly out of nowhere while driving started to studder and stall. While on street and highway no matter the speed without warning other then a smooth even ride and sound to sounding like a motorcycle feeling like it shifted into low and stalling.

At 106,000 miles, our 2013 jx 35 was diagnosed with transmission failure by the dealer and a private car repair shop. Found that there is a service campaign dated 4/18 addressing this issue for 2013 jx35 vehicles. Ours meets all requirements except for vin. We believe our vin is one of the affected vehicles.

I have complete transmission failure on my jx35 infinity, and the vin number is not listed.nissan and infinity are aware of this issue, but in my opinion, is not covering additional vehicles to save money.i had the vehicle in the shop more than 3 times after purchasing it used from infinity in 2015 within 3 months time.apparently, this was just the beginning of the issue which i am now left with.the recall needs to be extended to cover additional vin numbers that are not listed.

After about 3000 miles, i began to experience a "bucking" of the car at very low speed in traffic (~10-15mph).experienced a loss of power and would have to stomp on the accelerator to get the vehicle to accelerate.this began to occur regularly until i decided to take the vehicle in as part of the first service.i was informed that the transmission would have to be replaced and that i would have to wait for the part to arrive and that this was a known service bulletin.my dealer has been very accommodating however it is very unnerving to have to replace a transmission just 5000 miles into the life of a vehicle.i am actively exploring options to address the financial liability that i now have as part of the purchase of this vehicle.

Broken o-ring seal between transfer case and cvt assembly - transmission fluid leaking from transfer case seal - this came up after 5years of the car - jx35 was the firs model and has multiple defects and i believe this is one of themas we do not see issues with transmission this came up at service check

Was accelerating after making a turn, car refused to accelerate. Actual speed of car ~15mph odometer reported 40mph, 5 seconds later odometer jumped from 40mph - 60mph car is going about ~30mph. The car is making extremely loud transmission noises but not accelerating the gas pedal is to the floor.this is an ongoing issue with the car refusing to accelerate intermittently.

Car strongly vibrates/shudders at approx 20 mph and thereafter, and i had to take foot off pedal to get it to shift gears. Engine light comes on. At first visit to dealer, on 9/7/2013, (i'm currently on 4th visit since getting car), they claimed to repair the issue, though repair order not clear what they did. On 10/5/13, same issue. Service engine light on, and car hesitates and vibrates upon acceleration.per service invoice, "improper connection pin fitment". Dealership replaced fuel injector, and said problem solved. On 1/16/2014, same issue. Car shuttering upon acceleration btwn 15-45 mph, and engine light on.dealer replaced transmission, and once again, told me problem solved. On 3/24/2014, while driving on turnpike, same issue. Car vibrating upon acceleration, and engine light on. Had car towed back (approx 170 miles). Completely unsafe to drive. Dealership replaced engine control unit and engine chassis (i think that's the correct name), and was told - for the fourth time - "problem solved" (though incredibly, the dealer refused to pay the tow charge). In total, i've had the car only approx 8 months, and so far, have had the fuel injector, transmission, electronic control unit and engine chassis replaced, causing the car to be in the shop for this problem a collective total of approx 25 days or so. The car is dangerous to drive and someone is going to get seriously injured. I have now seen other similar reports and complaints about this particular car, under the "complaints" section of the nhtsa. Something needs to be done.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated with the check engine warning light flashing on the instrument panel. The contact stated that she pulled over and waited for a few minutes before restarting the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where they were unable to provide an official diagnosis. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

A couple of months after driving my 2013 jx35 i began experiencing a shudder/shaking in my vehicle when driving in the 15 to 25 mph range. The entire car shakes severely. Ithappen when trying to maintain speed in the range of 15 to 25 mph. This is a range commonly driven in school zones, neighborhoods and freeway traffic during rush hour. Therefore, this problem is frequent. There is a feeling that i will lose control of the car while driving. I believe it isgetting worse with time. The infiniti dealership where i purchased the vehicle initially denied the complaints and stated it was normal for the car to perform this way. I had to enlist infinity usa toget this problem addressed. The dealership completed repairs and stated the condition was remedied. It was not. The car continues to operate with a shudder in that speed range and now while turning corners.

Moisture penetrated into passenger side headlight and theheadlights get knocked out. It is an issue with seal. These lights are to be sealed as it is outside the body. My opinion inifiniti should have a recall on this type of failure to a head light as many more car owner having same issue.

On march 7 driver side light went out while driving down road. Had to have whole unit replaced. Now just 2 weeks later, on the way home tonight, driving again, the passenger side went out. This side was replaced fully by infiniti just 2 years ago because it went out while driving in the mountains and is now is once again gone out while driving. Each time they say it is a ballast and the full unit,$1500, has to be replaced. This is unacceptable. And is very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that when placing the vehicle in reverse during the night hours the driver was unable to see what was behind them. The driver also mentioned that the back up camera does not help either because the reverse lights are not illuminated bright enough. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to provide any assistance since they were not able to alter the design of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The failure and current mileage was approximately 1,400.....updated 12/20/12the consumer stated infinti will not make any changes and if lights were added by the consumer the warranty would voided. Updated 12/28/2012

I was in for an issue with my passenger headlight less than a year ago.i was told that it was due to water getting into my assembly, and it wasn't an infiniti defect.i am not sure how that is possible since headlights are to be designed to be outside of the car 100% of the time.now my driverside headlight has failed, and i do not believe i should have to pay for the same repair on the other light.a dead headlight will not pass inspection.both headlights go dead from water and its my fault?sounds very odd.

On march 3, 2021, i was driving home at night when my headlights stopped working unexpectedly and suddenly.some roads have no or inadequate street lightsas well as no shoulder for pulling over which makes it at once impossible to stop driving and dangerous to continue driving.the local infiniti dealership could provide no explanation for why the headlights stopped working.

While driving my vehicle on city street i notice that my car seemed powerless when i pressed on the gas pedel also started to shudder an vibrate. Also notice that my headlight was starting to obtain moisture in them.

Both headlights stopped working at the same time which is a safety issue! i did not have any low beam lights or highbeam lights on both headlights. Once the headlights went out i had no way to navigate the vehicle.the vehicle was in motion at night on a city street.

The headlights on the infiniti jx 35 are not properly focussed and make night-time driving hazardous and dangerous, especially in rain and snow conditions. Repeated complaints to my dealer have not resulted in any action with the dealer pleading inability to make any adjustments.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving, the low beam and high beam headlights became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to greg orr infiniti located at 8727 business park dr, shreveport, la 71105, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the headlight switch and headlight bulbs were defective and needed to be replaced. The headlight switch and bulbs were replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the contact was informed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, offered no additional assistance. The failure mileage was 141,550.

Car shudders and stalls when is coming to a stop or slowing down and trying to accelerate will stall and skip rpms i've seen many complaints about the same thing

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While approaching a stop in traffic, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, but it would not move forward or in reverse. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. After approximately two months of being parked, the vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that a fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

I'm experiencing a problem with the city mpg performance. I obtaining an average of 10mpg driving in the city only. I tested on the highway and obtained 20.5 mpg. Average will depend on the city vs highway miles driven.

When fuel is low and low warning light comes up, distance to empty approximately 20 miles. Fill gas tank with approximately 4 gallons of gas and dte continues to display 20 miles even after turning car off/on over several days and driving approximately 30 miles.dte does not reset until tank is filled up.this happened several times.dealer (competition infiniti in smithtown ny) told me this is normal?

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled due to an empty fuel tank. The fuel gauge reading was inaccurate and displayed that there was fuel in the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer five times and an unknown part that was related to the fuel gauge was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.

We drove to fill up the tank. After filling until it stopped the mileage to empty did not increase. The fuel level then stayed at full as we drove to run errands but the mileage to empty never updated and only showed a decrease of miles. Additionally, when we break the stopping distance is really long and we have to break farther back. It feels 'squishy' but has new brake pads.

My jx35 has intermittent stalling. Like a stutter where the gears have trouble engaging. Especially when accelerating from a stop or going up hill. It has done this for at least 5 years with no codes ever being thrown from dealership checkups until now.dealership says it's a cvt error.my daughter has a 2015 nissan altima which is having a similar issue and it is being investigated and fully covered by nissan.i believe this should be covered as well.

I was driving down the road when all of a sudden the car became sluggish in acceleration, especially from a stop. It got to a point when the car was not able to go faster than 35 mph. I have noticed it was dangerous to drive like this, especially with kids in the car.

No forward or reverse in gear, rpm won't go over 2500 rpm in gear; neutral ok. Car towed in to dealership. Multiple dtc found; replaced cvt transmission assembly.

Many cars with cvt transmissions have experienced failures much more so than geared transmissions. Mine is a jx35. Infiniti has extended the warranty on some of them but not mine. Why? i am 81 old, out of warranty and scared. What is the problem with cvt transmissions and why isn't mine considered a problem? the dealer and infiniti consumer affairs claim they don't know. Who can i contact to find whether i should keep the car or dump it? nothing has happened to my car yet but if something will probably happen, i need to know.

Car shuddering, no power after pressing accelerator, no gears engaging

Car shudders and stalls when is coming to a stop or slowing down and trying to accelerate will stall and skip rpms i've seen many complaints about the same thing

I had only owned this vehicle (infiniti jx35) for a few weeks when i noticed that in stop and go traffic and/or slow speeds (15-30 mph) the front end would shake and shudder uncontrollably as if the car was going to stall.the only remedy was to bump on the accelerator to get it going faster.this made for very dangerous driving conditions as you were constantly surging forward to keep the car from sputtering.apparently infiniti was aware of this problem prior to selling me this car as a technical service bulletin had been issued 7/13/2013.the bulletin describes the problem as a torque converter issue and recommends replacing the converter, which requires tearing apart the transmission, however after 3 days in the shop replacing the torque converter, the dealership (infiniti of norwood, norwood, ma) called me to tell me that this did not solve the problem and that they would now have to replace the transmission.in a brand new car...ridiculous!now i am being told that the transmissions are back ordered for 3-4 weeks and oh, by the way, there are 2 or 3 cars ahead of you waiting with the same issue.this is a very serious issue and in my opinion represents a breach of good faith by dealers selling these vehicles.my calls to the sales rep and the gm have gone unanswered for 5 and 3 days respectively.buyer beware on these vehicles.

I've owned the jx35 since buying it new in 2013. At 92k+ was told by the dealer's service department that the transmission has failed, however my vin isn't part of the select vehicles recalled for repair. So very disappointing, as i love this car and it will cost more to repair it than it is worth.

I have a 2013 infiniti jx 35 that is on its 2nd transmission and experiencing shudder problems. The dealership stated that it will need to be replaced again in order for the problem to go away. This is a safety issues as this could cause accidents on the interstate. This truck is dangerous.

While in drive the automatic transmission doesn't go thru the sequence of shifts. It doesn't go properly into the standard forward drive mode. It stays in the lower gears.

This is the 2nd time that my transmission has needed to be replaced.the first time was in 2015 and now the computer is suggesting that my vehicle needs the transmission replaced again.the first time my car would not transition when it was placed into gear.this time my cars rpm's go all the way up even if i barely place my foot on the accelarator and it feels as if it stalls.there is a safety recall but i feel that this vehicle is defective and it should be replaced.my coworker has the same year make and model and his transmission went out too on the highway.this is very dangerous and it seems that fixing it does not resolve the matter.

In september of 2016, my car exhibited a shuddering motion when driving. It was found to be a faulty transmission and was replaced at ~ 85,000 miles.it was passed the warranty period and was paid out of pocket.approximately, one month ago my wife experienced the same problem and was towed to a local nissan dealership. I explained the transmission history to the nissan service tech and that it felt the same as when the transmission failed before.they were unable to duplicatethe problem. I took the car home. On 12/2,the problem again happened. I brought it back to the nissan dealer who diagnosed a transmission problem. They advised i should return to the infiniti dealership as they replaced thetransmission. It is a year old with ~15,000 miles on it. The infinity service department was unable to detect the transmission code but said it was due to an engine cylinder misfire.the proceeded to change the plugs, the drive belt and clean the fuel injection system. Upon picking up the vehicle, i started the car and it immediately began bucking/ misfiring. The engine light came on.i went back inside the service department. They dove with me around the lot and witnessed the misfiring. The car is still in the shop.infinity said there wasn't a transmission problem although the nissan serviceman stated the code should still be in the cars system. I found several complaints online concerning faulty transmissions and was wondering what others have experienced.

Infiniti jx35 2013 had transmission issues and a recall at 45000 miles.dealership claims to have fixed the problem and extended warranty.immediately after warranty runs out the transmission begins to have a problem again.this is a significant safety issue as it most often occurs when trying to accelerate and the risk is high of being hit by a vehicle behind me as i can not accelerate or hit head on as i try and turn at an intersection. It happens during city driving as well as on the highway.

I want to report that my vehicle i bought from a dealer starts to shudder when is shifting from first shift to second shift around 10-20 mph. I feel unsafe because i use it everyday and can cause a accident in the driveway. I know a lot of people have this same problem i can assume it's a factory isssue from the transmission on the infiniti. I'm a single mother with 2 kids and i spend a lot of money buying it from a used care sale. I want to this be fix because i don't want to have an accident or the transmission to get worst.

On highway at about 70mph, car started de-accelerating, pressing on accelerator only increased engine rpm. Eventually got to a side and turned off the car. On powering back on, there was no forward or reverse motion in d or r. Had car towed to dealership. Diagnosis is needs new transmission, car is still under warranty. This willl be the 2nd transmission in 4 years. There have been multiple episodes of car loosing ability to accelerate from stationary, going up a short incline or driving at city speeds. Car is proving very unreliable and unsafe. What is nissan/infiniti doing about this? i see other similar complaints.

When turning the rubber, strange sound is heard in the front.

To whom it may concern,we only had this brand new vehicle about 3-4 weeks when it started to exhibit major front end shaking/steering issues when operating/accelerating the vehicle between 15-25 mph.this is a highly unsafe situation that could cause the operator to lose control of the vehicle.there was a technical service bulletin (itb13-020) issued by nissan/infiniti on june 12th identifying this as a manufacturing defect and impacting jx35 vehicles manufactured on or before march 26, 2013.unfortunately, the repairs required on this brand new luxury vehicle are extensive and involved major work to the power train (see detailed report below).nissan/infiniti had to know about this issue on or before march 26th since that is when they officially changed out the part(s) on the assembly line which is well before they sold me this vehicle with (known) major defects causing it to be highly unsafe to operate.vehicle detailsvin #:[xxx]purchase date: june 9th 2013purchase location: infinity of north scottsdale2013 infiniti jx35 power train issuesdescription: 03700 power train:automatic transmission:torque converter technical service bulletin no: itb-13-020 date of bulletin: 07/12/2013 impacts: jx35 manufactured on or before march 26, 2013summary description: infiniti: may be shudder from the torque converter at 18-35 mph .ypdated 7/22/13. *pevehicle repair locationcoulter infinity6225 east test drivemesa, az 85206vehicle drop off date: 7/22/2013pickup date: vehicle repaired and picked up as of 8/7/2013major work completed:-replaced torque converter assembly unit (requires separating transmission from engine)-replaced electric power steering unit-replaced other parts including: ns-3 cvt transmission, nissan long live, gauge oil level.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

1. Car at about 30 mph; on city streets, attempting to accelerate caused engine revs to go up with no change in speed. After a few minutes came to stop at a stop sign. There was a short incline after the stop sign. The car would not move forward on drive.turned off car, waited a few minutes, turned back on andwere able to move forward normally with some intermittent hiccups. Car has had transmission rebuilt.

Our 2013 jx35 has a cvt transmission malfunction which is causing a hesitation when shifting gears from park into reverse.when first placed in service the dealership stated they were not able to duplicate the issue.now 1 yr later the dealership is able to duplicate this issue, but was informed by the dealership that this issue cannot be covered by our warranty at this time, due to having no error codes. However, from online reports this is a classic warning sign in issues with cvt transmissions malfunctioning.this should be covered as other cvt transmissions already covered by nissan and infiniti.

Transmission shuttered, juttered, vibrated before loosing power and control over the vehicle whilst in city traffic. Almost causing an accident

Driving down the road and car started shaking really bad and then stopped accelerating. It still ran just wouldnt' go forward or reverse. Dealer said probably valves on transmission need to be replaced which would cost $5960 as my car is beyond the warranty at 110,000 miles. I was also told that that may not fix the problem ,but that was needed to be done to start the diagnosis.

On december 17, 2018 the car was very slow to get into gear when turning left. After picking up my son from school, we headed home and as we were driving up the hill the car would no longer go into gear to go up the hill and i put the brake on. The car would start to go backwards in drive. At that time, i turned the engine back on and off in an attempt to drive the car up and the car continued to go backwards. I then put the car into rear drive and backed the car back down into a safe parking spot. I called the tow truck and had the car towed to autonation infiniti in tustin. I was told by the service manager francisco gutierrez that my transmission needed to be replaced and that the transmission fluid was low and burned and no longer had any transmission fluid. I did not see any oil leaks in my drive way to indicate a leak and i took my car into infiniti autonation five time this year where a multipoint inspection was performed and i was not given any indication that the transmission fluid was low. I believe this is the same jx 35 transmission issue that has already been reported to nhsta and is also currently under a class action lawsuit: batista, et al. V. Please discard previous versions of this bulletin.my transmission is dead and needs a full replacement per infiniti and i had no indicators that were identified and i was not notified by the dealer in order to repair the issue before my transmission was damaged and not repairable.

Car will shudder and not shift in or out of gear. This happens on numerous occasions and has been a safety issue. Especially with my children in the car. Infiniti has refused to acknowledge the problem and will not fix it.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle shuddered and lost power while shifting. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to gregory infiniti (1121 s milwaukee ave, libertyville, il 60048, (847) 362-9200), but they were unable to duplicate the failure. Additionally, the vehicle was taken to fields infinti glencoe (2100 w frontage rd, glencoe, il 60022, (847) 998-5200) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 33280115. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Erratic (bouncing) idle, and unpredictable power surging. Nonstop upshift and downshift even when cruise control applied at constant speed. Was driving with my 3 kids in the car when all of the sudden the car felt like it went into a high gear and little power so i hit the gas and the car felt like the gears were shifting all over the place. . i almost had a bad accident.

When my jx35 in second and third gear, i felt some delay and stutter. I have about 48,000 miles and it's been taken care by infinitii dealer where i bought my vehicle from.

We bought a 2013 infiniti jx35 on 4/25/2013.vin# [xxx].we have14,000 miles on it to date.this car has an intermittent transmission problem since we pick it up..the dealer is aware of the problem. We have taken the car in 4 times now butthe dealer has not been able to replicated & record. This problem can befound on most every infiniti forum. Nissan is aware of the problem.the other day iwas crossing an intersection when it decided to act up. This caused a nearmiss. Now i see this problem as a real safety issue.the dealer coast infinit suggestedi reach out to consumer affairs for assistance in resolving. I'm open tosuggestions as i'm not interested in driving this vehicle as it is stands today.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While accelerating from a stop, the vehicle jerked violently and failed to accelerate. Also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to infiniti of coral gables (2701 s le jeune rd, coral gables, fl 33134, phone number: (786) 619-3009) where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 77,700.

Experiencing extreme shuddering, and acceleration issues.apparently is a very common problem. Can't accelerate when merging into traffic, safety issue. The warranty was extended for 2013 jx35, but apparently not mine.why aren't all vehicles from this model year covered?!? afraid to replace and have the same thing happen again.

The vehiclebegan making a repetitive thumping sounds that was more frequent as speed increased and less frequent when speed decreased.all tires were checked for debris or defects and none was found.took to dealership and was advised the front differential failed.the vehicle is not drivable, we are awaiting repair.we are now afraid to get the vehicle back.this is the 5th or 6th time that we had to bring the vehicle back for some repair or recall.unacceptable for a $50,000 with a 18 months of driving.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving various speeds, the contact heard a knocking noise coming from the vehicle. Usually, while at a stop sign, the vehicle shuddered. The vehicle was taken to brewbaker dodge chrysler jeep ram fiat of montgomery (300 eastern blvd, montgomery, al 36117, (334) 279-0174), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the transmission failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Transmission shudders when first acceleration

I'm experiencing transmission issues that cause the vehicle to shudder and hesitate without moving. I had it inspected by the infinity of portland dealer on 8/17/19 and they confirmed the transmission needs to be replaced. I spoke with infinity on 8/20/19 and they stated my specific car wasn't covered under the past transmission recall / service bulletins. My vehicle is unsafe and should be covered as this year and model of car has had numerous transmission issues.

Without warning or any alerts my jx35 went into catestrophic transmission failure. With less than 90,000 miles and frequent maintenance this failure is completely negligent on the part of infiniti. There is a recall on the 2013 jx35 regarding the transmission, which matches the failure in my vehicle but the vin number does not match. In my opinion, infiniti/nissan has had recurring negligence by utilizing cvt technology without protecting consumers. Infiniti is a luxury brand that consumers are willing to spend more in order to gain a reliable vehicle. Infiniti is letting down their consumers, i will never buy a nissan/infiniti again.

As i was exiting the interstate, the transmission just quit working. (mileage around 117,000)luckily i had purchased an extended warranty.i was under the assumption that the transmission was being replaced by my local nissan dealer.about 6 months later, i noticed the car would occasionally not want to accelerate, would miss, or even not move when shifted out of park.local mechanic was unable to determine the cause (no codes and unable to reproduce at the time).a couple weeks later as i was driving down the road at around 35 miles per hour the car just started making a clunking noise.i had it towed.then i replaced the driveshaft, front passenger cv axle, and the transfer case.i thought the car was finally repaired, but it started doing the same thing it was doing before all of these things were replaced...not accelerating, missing, etc. This time the not moving once shifted out of park was happening constantly. However, now it is becoming a major safety concern because it is also happening once we stop at a stoplight or intersection.when trying to accelerate to get through the intersection, it isn't moving!this is very scary when you are just hoping and praying the vehicle will finally decide to accelerate before getting struck by another car.i contacted the mechanic again and took it to him.he drove it and of course was not able to duplicate the major hesitation when shifted out of park.when i mentioned that the transmission had been replaced, he informed me that i was incorrect.it had not been replaced, but instead there had been a "patch" of some sort put on the defective transmission by the nissan dealer.his suggestion was to "get rid of it."he said there have been nothing but problems with this cvt transmission.i was shocked!these forums are full of others with the same problems!

Vehicle will be running and suddenly and with no warning, the transmission will not provide power to the wheels.engine will not rev unless in neutral.this will happen while the car is in motion.i was driving in the fast lane of a 3 lane highway over a bridge when the car suddenly lost power.engine was running but no power was being transmitted to the wheels.engine would rev in neutral but once put into drive, the transmission would not engage and the engine would not rev.the second time, i was driving up a slight incline on a street and the car lost power to the wheels again.engine would rev in neutral, but when put into drive, no power to the wheels and the engine would not rev.both time it was very dangerous to have the car quit right in the middle of traffic.when stuck on the bridge blocking the fast lane, a chp eventually showed up to push me off the bridge.when stuck on the street, i was able to coast backwards into an open parking space on the side of the road.

Shuddering when picking up speed difficult for car to go into drive when car is parked on a hill. Now my car will not go into gear or start up. My make and model of my car has a recall for this problem but was told that my part number is not on list.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle shuddered and failed to accelerate above 15 mph. The vehicle was towed to infiniti of gwinnett (3090 satellite blvd, duluth, ga 30096, (678) 812-8500) where the mechanic diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 140,000.

It's not changing gears on time. Almost caused an accident at an intersection.

The transmission started slipping when driving forward and then the car would stall and not move. When putting back in parking and then to drive, the car would move but later back to slipping. Took the car to infiniti dealer the same day, they ran the diagnosis and reported that the transmission would have to be replaced completely at the cost of $7000 total. The car has 66000 miles on it and has been maintained for all services regularly. No warning light or alert messages showed on dashboard. Opened the case with "nissan/infiniti consumer affairs" and waiting for their response.

At 36,000 miles, my jx35's transfer case cracked and it was repaired by infiniti under warrantee. The indication of the problem was a rubbing in the wheels, i heard a snap and the car basically died. Luckily i was on the street on which we live. At 80,750 miles, the transfer case cracked again. The signal this time was a whirring of the transmission with leaking of differential fluid. With the car out of warrantee, we took it to a transmission specialist (bonded transmission, framingham, ma) to ensure it would be repaired adequately. They basically needed to rebuild the vehicles transmission. We just picked it up today and fingers are crossed that the problem doesn't happen again. The cost to repair was $2999.83. Documentation of both repairs is attached. This was a major repair on each occasion. Fortunately, the first time, i was alone in the car, on a residential street and there was not incident. The second time, we noticed the leak in the driveway. I'm concerned that if this happens again, we won't be so lucky. Infiniti should be ashamed at producing such an inferior product.

Hello i have a 2013 infiniti jx 35 that broke down when i was driving with family from new jersey to dallas. It has 117000 miles. The car just gave up on me in the middle of the highway and luckily i was saved without much any safety issues. From what i understand this is a common problem for the model that i use (2013 jx 35) and infiniti is not doing anythign about it an asking $6500 for repair

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered and hesitated with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.

While accelerating to go through a traffic light turning left the transmission shuttered several times causing me to almost not make it through the light before a car was coming through the intersection. I was nearly hit by that vehicle while my 3 year old daughter was in the car as well. This shutter issue keeps happening and now our mechanic says the transmission is going.

Pc501 voluntary service campaign on the 2013 jx 35 does not show my vin but i am having the same complaints that are found to have start this on the cvt.i now have to spend 3500 on a new transmission because infiniti doesn't feel that my 2013 was not in the date range. Nissian cvt transmissions are worthless last one i ever own .

While driving my vehicle on city street i notice that my car seemed powerless when i pressed on the gas pedel also started to shudder an vibrate. Also notice that my headlight was starting to obtain moisture in them.

Car wouldn't move from p (parking) gear at first.when it eventually started moving, it wouldn't accelerate to more than 20 mile per hour even though it's at 5-6000 rpm and eventually the car stop moving completely even though the engine was on.was told by the dealer that it was due to a defective transmission so brand new transmission was installed.1500 miles(3 months) later the car stopped moving while driving on 2/11/14.car started slipping backward in the hilly road.leaky transmission fluid was at the site.dealer is installing another "new" transmission while there are less 6500 miles in the car.the car has been with the dealer for more than a week now.

My jx has tightened the seat belts in the front so hard that it pulled me and my passenger back into our seats, the motor engaged.when this happens, the brakes go very soft before the set belts tighten.i have ended up in the middle of an intersection a few times.the dealer could not find anything wrong, this has happened 5 times in the past 2 months.i called infiniti consumer affairs and they told me to go back to the dealer who said they can't do anything.i asked for the issue to be escalated on the infiniti side.the car should not feel like it is not going to stop.this issue did not happen all in the same place, it happened in 4 different locations in san antonio and 4 of the times, there was not a car in front of me when this happened.there is a serious issue with the braking system on this car.maybe this is related to the safety systems?maybe the car thinks it is going to be in a crash, but if that was the case, wouldn't the motor kick in and stop the car?

The passenger air bag warning light illuminates (i.e., the warning light indicates that the airbag is off) even though there is an adult passenger sitting in the front passenger seat and that adult passenger is properly seated and wearing a seat belt. This issue has been reported by many infiniti jx owners online at www.inifintijxforum.comthe danger is that we do not know if it is the warning light that is faulty (i.e., airbag will actually deploy in an accident) or if the airbag sensor is faulty (i.e., airbag will not deploy in an accident).

When slowing to a stop on acity street downward incline the brakes will fade and the seat belt pretensioner will fire.seems to be related to intelligent brake assist or abs system. I have read about others having the identical or similar problems on line but infinity acts like they never heard of the problem. We have taken the car to the dealership with no resolution of the issue. We get the run around from infinity consumer support.

My 8 year old son was seating in the back seat and had bent over to pick something up from the floor, while buckled with the seat belt.when he sat back up again, the seat belt was in lock-down mode and would not budge one way or another.the more he moved the tighter it got to the point where he could barely breath.even though the car was parked and the engine turned off, the seat belt would not budge and the only way to get him out was to cut the seat belt.there was no other way to either release the buckle or the pressure from the seat belt.

At very light stop such as red light or stop sign, my jx35 has tightened the seat belts in the front so hard that it pulled me and my passenger back into our seats. When this happens, the brakes go very soft at or before the set belts tighten. The dealer could not find anything wrong, this has happened numerous times in the past 3 months.

While driving my infiniti jx35 i have noticed that the air bag light, indicating that the air bag is turned off, will come on while my wife is sitting in the passengers seat. She weighs about 150lbs so the air bag should always be on with her sitting in the seat.

Srs light is blinking and dealer is unable to fix the issue and i am not sure whether i am safe in case of accident or what are the repercussions of this blinking light

My wife brought this vehicles and really didn't know that it has a lemon law title on it, until we took it to the dealer. The dealer explain what she has brought, and the dealer say the vehicle has no value, for trade or sell. We have 18,600 miles in excellent condition, so we would like to either get a another title or what need to be fix so we don't have to sue anyone, that should had explain what she was buying at the time of purchase?

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed upon making a turn. The vehicle failed to decelerate until after several attempts. The failure recurred on a separate occasion and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the problem and they replaced the vehicle with a different model. There was a voluntary recall issued by the manufacturer prior to the purchase of the vehicle. The recall was related to the brakes. The dealer did not perform the remedy repair before the vehicle was sold. The approximate failure mileage was 800.

Vehicle is equipped with forward collision prevention. While driving with cruise control on, vehicle will occasionally brake even though there is no vehicle in front. There is usually an 18-wheeler in the right lane at the time. Dealer and manufacturer state that they aren't able to reproduce and that there are no malfunction codes. They insist that re-aligning sensors is a maintenance item and require payment of $150 to perform that function. The dealer also states they aren't sure that will fix the problem. Vehicle has had one defective icc sensor replaced and mis-aligned sensors realigned once.

There was a couple of inches of fresh snow on the streets.this was the first snow that the car has seen.the brakes do not work in snow.when the car starts to skid in thesnow, the anti lock brake feature appears to kick in, which causes the car to not brake at all.car simply cruises forward without any braking at all.pumping the brakes appears to actually help the situation in that it seems to reset the anti lock feature and allows the brakes to at least temporarily apply before the car's computer switches them off again.in this incident, there was a slight downhill incline, car cruised into rear end of car that was stopped in front.

2013 jx35 roughly 95k miles intelligent braking optionsoft brakes that go to the floor, not master cylinder, brake pads, or loss of brake fluid in reservoir. Dealership in previous cases have concluded after the above items being replaced and not solving the issue as abs module needing to be replaced.we sitting at stoplight brake pedal continues losing pressure and we are forced to pump the brake for the pedal to maintain pressure. Air sucking sound is heard when releasing the pedal.

1. Pedal intermittently loses pressure when slow speed stops.2. Pedal goes close to floor at complete stop with light pressure.3. On several occasions, it triggered the seat belt restraints which was scary. 4. Noted "air sucking" sound from brake pedal.5. Brakes would "pump back" to normal if i took my foot off brake and repressed.

My car has intermittent braking issues, i took the car to the dealer while still in warranty , they drove it for a week and it seemed fine. The brakes will intermittently go all the way to the floor and my car will not stop, it has caused several near accidents. The brakes can be pumped a few times and it will typically recover only to happen again.

Upon approaching an intersection my wife was braking to a stop.there were some bumps in the road (slight washboard) that appeared to upset the braking system.the seatbelts contracted quickly and took up any slack and became very tight.the brakes did not respond and resulted in a very hard and ineffective pedal.the car ended up 1/2 way into the intersection or further by the time it stopped.it truly seemed to take an additional 2 seconds to resume working.this also happened the previous weekend when i was driving.this time i was approaching a red light and applied the brakes.the road also had a few ripples on it and the brakes did not respond to my now very hard foot.the seat belts tightened like i mentioned above and we ended up fully across the intersection by the time we stopped. I had a car full of kids and this would have been a national story had someone been coming through the intersection.thank heavens it was clear. I've driven many cars and never had anything like this happen before.it is very unsettling.

I was traveling approximately 45 mph on route 73 in marlton nj.thebrakes locked (without me braking) this seemed to be the auto emergency braking system.there was nothing in front of me- no car, person or obstacle.the car behind me needed to swerve to avoid me.this is a serious safety concern. This happened one other time and it didn't occur to me the seriousness the first time because i was reversing slowly.again there was no obstacle and no reason for the car to suddenly brake.the dca was not in use at the time either. This is the second serious safety issue i have had with this vehicle.first was the front passenger airbag - would not engage while an adult passenger was seated.this eventually got corrected after 4 visits to the dealer.

Today i had the ultimate scare. I was driving down the freeway when my seat belts locked and my truck hit the emergency brakes. No one was in front of me but there was a 18 wheeler behind me. He swerved to avoid hitting me from the back. I completely went into a anxiety attack and had to pull over once the car released the brakes which only lasted a minute. I called for help because i couldn't breathe and could not drive. I could have lost my life today all behind a dumb vehicle that suppose to keep me from crashing. It's been park and i refuse to drive it. Thankful my kids were not in the car yet.

Exiting freeway. Half way down the off ramp, applied brakes -- no brakes, complete failure.applied emergency brakes and pumped brake peddle vigorously.finally car came to a halt and i was able to avoid cross traffic and avoided injury and damage.

I leased my jx in june 2012.this is the vehicle's 1st model yr (released in april 2012).i leased it because i have two young children, i am 24 weeks pregnant, and the jx boasts many many safety features.one of these safety features is the intellect brake assist(iba).if the vehicle senses you are about to have a front end crash, it will automatically bring the vehicle to an immediate stop.after purchasing the vehicle, i read online that there is a glitch with the iba - that it was engaging the brakes even when no accident was eminent.i drove straight to the dealer asking to disconnect/turn off the options that allow the vehicle to stop automatically when in forward motion.they said that what i read online was an isolated incident (ironically in the area in which i reside) and that i shouldn't have any problems.i explained that i wanted it turned off anyway - i didn't feel safe knowing that it could happen to me.when the vehicle stops, it jerks the seatbelt tight, and i don't want that risk to my unborn child unless an accident is actually about to occur.they took the car in and when it emerged they assured me that all of the frontal brake assistance was turned off.12 days later i was driving w/my 7 yr old, and when i drove over a bridge, the vehicle came to a dead stop, and all of our seatbelts locked up.fortunately, the driver in the vehicle behind me was able to stop in enough time that he didn't hit me.i called the dealer where i leased the vehicle, and the service department explained to me that it is a known problem, and infiniti is working on a fix.i have learned that this problem has been known since may 2012 which is prior to my purchase.i am also told that this particular bridge is the only culprit in the entire country because it has too much metal.i will not drive this vehicle and jeopardize the lives of my family and others.

Nhtsa campaign id no. 13v139000.started car.pulled out of parking lot.the brakes in my 2013 infiniti jx35 had a complete failure and would not stop car at all.to avoid oncoming traffic pulled over to a grassy area and crashed into a brick structure.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle hesitated to stop when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact heard an abnormal sound once the brakes were applied. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 13v445000 (electrical system, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000.

August 2013 - when pressing the on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle,it will continue to move and the brake pedal will go down to the floor but it would not break and the seat belt tightens and almost rear ended the front car. I took the car to the infiniti dealer and they replaced the master cylinder and blend system. The same problem happened again in july 2014, ran through a red light due to break pedal going to the floor and would not brake and the seat belt got tighter.took the car to infiniti dealer replaced master cylinder and brake booster. I filled a complained to inifiniti motors, since i'm worried there might be a problem causing brake failure.

I am writing you now it is because at this point driving my 2013 infinity jx35 for the second time had put my life on the line.i was driving on 75 north on wesdnesday november 21, 2018 around 4:30pm and suddenly, the front right tire of my car just came off causing damage to other drivers car. I always service my car at infinity, do all the recommended services on the car and still cannot feel safe driving that car. I had a brake service done on my car on my last oil change which however is now showing that the tires were not screwed properly all the way.i am seriously disappointed and even scare of putting my family back in that car.the first time this happened, infinity declined all responsibility stated that it looked like the car had been in an accident which was not true because it hit the sidewalk when the wheel started shaking and bounced the car. The first time right after we purchased the car, the wheel started shaking in the middle of the road and bounced the car to the nearest side walk.this time, the tire just ran off of the car in a middle of the highway.

I bought the jx 35 on april 17, 2012 looking to downsize and because of the safety features. About a month into owning the car, as i was driving the iba (intellect brake assist) suddenly stopped my car to a complete stop on a bridge. There were no cars in front of me, and luckily the car behind me wasn't driving too close to me or i would have been hit. My seatbelt tightened as well. My 2 year old daughter was with me. I immediately drove it over to the dealership and they turned the iba off. 2 weeks later i was driving with my mom and daughter and it happened again on the same bridge!!! we were stunned as the car stopped and our seatbelts tightened. Again, no accident, as no one was driving too close behind me. Once again i drove right to the dealership where they kept my car. It was there for 28 days while technicians from bosch and infiniti came to test my car over several trips back and forth testing new software. It did happen to the technicians with my car as well on he same road along with another jx from the lot with iba. Nissan infiniti corporation did nothing to help me get out of this car, their consumer affairs dept is horrible. My dealership did help, and got me out of the car with my full money back. Even with my money back, i am unsettled knowing this can happen to someone else.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph, when the brakes became unresponsive. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that a technician would inspect the vehicle to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.

I am requesting an investigation on the automatic brake system on the infiniti jx35, 2013 model and the fact that it should not go off when you are driving normally and not about to rear end another vehicle. On saturday october 25, 2014, i was driving my 2013 infiniti jx 35, with a passenger down a 30mph road traveling at approximately 33mph when i saw a 1-2 foot wide metal construction covering on the street ahead.it was fairly flat and appeared that i could easily drive over it at a normal speed.as i moved my foot off of the gas to slow down and started to move my foot gently (barely touching) on the brake, warning beeps began to sound and immediately my automatic braking system forcefully engaged and strongly forced my vehicle to a complete stop throwing my daughter and i forward very hard.luckily no vehicles were behind me because they would have ended up rear ending my vehicle. A sore neck was my only injury.it was a very scary situation to be thrown suddenly into a complete stop. I went back to the location monday morning early and took pictures of the road and a video of other cars traveling over it.most of the cars did not stop at all and continued over the covering traveling 30 - 35 mph. There was not a car in front of me at the time of this incident which is what the automatic braking system is supposed to warn.

After starting the engine and after the steering wheel assumes its drive position, the steering wheel will have a moment of free play where you can feel the steering wheel jump and finally catch.i have mentioned this several times to the infiniti dealer service dept and their response is that all jx35's do this.i have never had any car or infiniti (i30 or m35) exhibit this lack of steering control.i have not experienced this while driving, only on initial start-up.

When turning the rubber, strange sound is heard in the front.

The steering wheel is loose everytime i apply brake or pedal or turning corner. I bring my car to dealer they say all jx35 have the same small amount of play in column. They give me the grand new one to check and the grand new one do not have that problem. They said they could not do anything with that. I call infiniti headquarter and they said the same thing, they could not do anything with that problem ???

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the dashboard made a rattling noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer five times for the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 11,809.

Our jx 35 has a ongoing rattle in the center stack, mid-dash area, just below the navigation area.i will be taking our vehicle in to the nearest dealership (80mi one-way) once they actually return my appointment request to get this rattle fix (this will be the second attempt!!!).

Hood latch does not stay locked. The hood pops open which can cause an accident.

2013 infinity jx35.attorney representing consumer writes in regards to front door of vehicle has very sharp edges that caused injury to consumers face.the dealer informed the consumer, the problem was a manufacturing defect, and they were not responsible for fixing it.(lawyer wrote in on behalf of consumer)

Suv left front end makes thunking noises when driving over bumps at speeds below 45 mph. Tires do not show uneven wear. Shocks and struts have been checked. Steering wheel does not shake either. Feels like loose tire but have had that checked many times and not the cause.front right side is quiet. Car can be moving straight ahead or turns, the noise happens regardless. Front end specialist has suggested many costly repairs as a "let's try this". Suv has 60,000 miles and started doing this in the last 6,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that when driving on any cement road surface at 60 mph or more, the front end of the vehicle would shake abnormally. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and after speaking with the manufacturer, the dealer stated that there was no fix for the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 100 and the current mileage was 8,000.

Tire tread wore very early. Unsafe at 19,0000. On a new vehicle.the windshield wipers failed at 20,000 miles.

Car starts to shudder and shake, while trying to accelerate. This is a transmission issue.

While driving, the car suddenly started shuddering and making a loud grinding sound. We were in the fast lane amd the car slowed quickly. We were able to pull off the road, where the car stopped moving. We had to wait for a tow. Upon researching i found that there is a known issue with jx35 2013 transmissions, i prayed we were eligible for it. I took it to the dealer where they diagnosed it as a internal cvt transmission fail. The entire transmission needs to be replaced, a $5249.42 cents fix. A fix that i will have to take a loan out for. I called infiniti corporate to find out why my car was not eligible for the known cvt transmission replacement...they said it was by vin number. Having my car suddenly shut down while in a fast moving lane was scary and i would like an investigation as to why infiniti is not fixing their cvt transmission issues instead of passing it on to their customers.

About 11/05/2014, i began getting a flashing light, red alternating with white - with a triangle in the middle which has an icon of a vehicle in the center - in my driver information screen. It is approx 3" long x 1" high. It is accompanied by an insistent audio beep. It is in the place on this screen where i get an small yellow/orange icon of a car when i am approaching a car (stationary or moving slower,) quicker than my vehicle thinks i should. This light does not appear in my manual.this signal appears randomly and with no vehicle in front and often on a straight section of road with no traffic. It happens day/night, any weather, any speed and on highway and residential roads. I believe it is trying to warn me of an impending collision and i fear it will either slow or stop my vehicle when completely inappropriate. My vehicle has collision avoidance and all sorts of other technology. I have been working with my dealer (autoplace infiniti and then infiniti of williamsville when westherr took over the dealership) since 12/09/14. It has been in for service many times trying to get to the root of the issue. At first i was told the problem doesn't exist and the light doesn't exist. I have also worked with infinitiusa customer care (case # 17650302) and was told the engineers say the light doesn't exist. A recent drive with an infiniti east special tech (pete) verified the light and audio signal. His conclusion was that it was operating normally even though i told him, the regular serve tech and general manager about two recent incidents where the car tried to rapidly slow me down on the highway with no vehicle in front or other dangerous situation. Luckily, there was no traffic at the time and i was able to "floor it" to get back up to highway speed before an accident occurred. What are my options?

The infiniti visors break next to wear they connect to the car roof. This results in visors that won't stay up and impair the driver's vision.a web search demonstrated that this is a known issue for the jx and the nissan equivalent. It appears the plastics that holds the visor is broken. Both visors have the same issue.

When turning the rubber, strange sound is heard in the front.

When i was driving on the highway the vehicle jerked and been to lose speed without warning. This was very scary. I'm in the vehicle with my family going the speed limit and all of the sudden the speed drops no matter how much you push the gas pedal. We could have lost our lives and lives of others. This is beyond a safety issue.

Sunroof shattered while driving on the interstate.

I purchased a used 2013 infiniti jx35 in aug of 2017.we have liked the car and had no issues.this weekend, while driving my wife and 3 girls on the highway, when i went to accelerate, the car would not shift gears and would not increase in speed.both my wife and i realized something was not right, as the rpm's increased, but the vehicle did not increase in speed.further i struggled to get up a hill and almost had to pull to the side to prevent from going backwards.i took it to a mechanic and was told that it has a failed transmission.now, i went to the infiniti dealership and found that one month prior to my purchase, the original transmission was replaced at 43,000 miles.now, 2 years later at 102,000 miles, the second transmission has failed again!!!!!two transmissions in under 103,000 miles, and infinity is not willing to do anything to help out.i even offered, to pay for the labor if they would pay for the parts, and they were still unwilling.worst consumer experience of my life. As i've researched this, i have found that the infiniti jx35 has a number of transmission issues, and my vehicle has 2 failed transmission.

While driving on hwy 49 south of jackson, ms, with no vehicles in front of her and nothing overhead, the sunroof of my wife's car exploded with a loud bang, causing a repair bill of over $1200.00.

I changed the battery and replaced the battery posts also and my battery keeps dying unfortunately i don't have the money to pay infiniti just to check and see if it's something electrical. The place where i bought my battery from tested my battery after all i did buy it new and it's good so the guy said it has to be something electrical

The car suddenly out of nowhere while driving started to studder and stall. While on street and highway no matter the speed without warning other then a smooth even ride and sound to sounding like a motorcycle feeling like it shifted into low and stalling.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor reapired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Car shudders and stalls when is coming to a stop or slowing down and trying to accelerate will stall and skip rpms i've seen many complaints about the same thing

While car was in motion, full dashboard instrument panel stopped working. No turn signal indicators, no speedometer, no fuel gauge.

Car starts to shudder and shake, while trying to accelerate. This is a transmission issue.

Tire tread wore very early. Unsafe at 19,0000. On a new vehicle.the windshield wipers failed at 20,000 miles.

Clips in visor broke leaving the visor hanging obstructing the drivers view - very dangerous situation

Driver visor sagged to forehead level. In full down the visor sagged as well as full up to block vision and have the visor at forehead level. There is no alternate way to hold this visor out of the way.problem has repeated on 11/12/14. I await dealer reply.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated that the driver and passenger sun visors fractured. The contact stated that the sun visors were unable to retract and were unsafe while driving. On several occasions, the contact struck his head on the sun visor while attempting to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Driving under 20 mph on divided street approaching a bridge over a small waterway. Suddenly felt left front end go down and swerve to left into concrete bridge railing. Appears that left front wheel assembly came apart from drive shaft. Police officers commented that looks like u-joint separated.*dsy *dt
