This is my 2nd nhtsa complaint (first #10510406). I have videos documenting problem, to which inifiniti's response was (prior to most recent official recall in 04/2014) "we are not sitting in the seat properly". I was thrilled to hear about the 2014 recall thinking "finally!", but i have had it applied to my vehicle, twice now, and i still have the same issue of the light coming on at times. It has been with adults weighing 115-130lbs and as i watch the infiniti video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy1qvnamxss&sns=em) i see they are saying it turns off for the safety of small 'adult' passengers.i wish they would define "small" in pounds; if 120 doesn't qualify, they should have never sold me the car since i'm constantly at risk in my own seat!airbags are not new tech.they need to gut whatever new tech they tried and go back to a known entity.i could live (no pun intended - but ironic) with it being flaky and turning off because a passenger moves around in their seat - if it would only turn back on when they were sitting properly again!but, 1) my passengers are sitting properly to begin with, and 2) when they try and lift off the seat and back down again in hopes of turning the airbag back on, it does not help.only stopping the car resolves the issue.this is highly problematic because it happens while going down the highway and there's no way to reset it short of stopping the car or waiting it out. Anyone who sits in my front passenger seat knows they are being used as a test dummy and to sit properly because i warn them this airbag issue can happen. It's preposterous. I've owned audi, lexus, toyota, mazda, honda, and bmw and never had an airbag issue like this. Infiniti is covering up a defective system that needs to be completely replaced. I hope someone starts a class action suit against them since they clearly don't value any of our lives.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The airbag lights are showing that they are not functioning when there is an adult in the passenger seat. We have a video of me (an adult) sitting in the car with the airbag lights showing they are off. There is an open recall for a similar issue with the same make, model and year of my car. I have taken the car in to infiniti (mission viejo, ca) multiple times and they say their diagnostics show it is not a problem.a video of me in the seat with the airbags lights showing they are disengaged says otherwise. Infiniti is refusing to do the repair - the car is not even one year old!

With wife sitting correctly in front passenger seat "passenger airbag off" sensor lights up. Have taken it in numerous times and told they cannot find incident in logs. Finally infiniti sent an engineer down to look into issue. Was issued a loaner jx35 and had no issues. Seeing that there were no issues in loaner jx35 seat they removed the rails and sensors from the loaner jx35 and installed them into the seat of my jx35. Received my jx35 back and the first time my wife sat in the seat with replaced rails and sensors from a known working jx35 (the loaner i drove for a week) the "passenger airbag off" light came on again. We drove to the dealership/service and the service manager witnessed my wife sitting correctly in the front passenger seat and the "passenger airbag off" light illuminated.we were given another loaner jx35 and told that they would have to look into it more. While driving my wife around in this latest jx35 i have not had the same issue. I have taken my jx35 in now four times for the same issue. I have been loaned three jx35's and am not experiencing the same issue in them with my wife in the passenger seat. There is a known recall for this exact issue but my vehicle's vin code is not listed as being under the recall. Knowing that parts from a known working seat were used in my vehicle and the issue still persists i no longer feel safe for my wife or any passenger sitting in the front seat without the fear of the airbag not deploying in an accident.

The entire computer electrical system failed and overheated the electrical components causing the car to die out after we returned it to our garage! the vehicle was towed to the dealer who advised one or two days depending on part delivery. It has been 8 days since delivery and we are told the part is not available anywhere and on back order! the only reason we can think of for acritical component not being available is either this is an extensive problem or the defective part needs to be redesigned to prevent future failures!we need to get infiniti to agree to a buyback and get us into a new car of the same color combination and equipment as soon as possible! the lemon jx35 they sold us can no longer e trusted by me or my family.

The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer three more times to get diagnosed in which the alternator and spark plugs were replaced but the failure still continued however, the last time the vehicle started to smoke and was currently and the dealer awaiting diagnosed and repairs. Sudden loss of power while driving has happened about 5 times in a year.almost caused a major accident on 1/15/14 car went from 55 to 30 and would not accelerate had to pull to the shoulder and turn off the vehicle to reset - service at infinity could not duplicate problem and directed me to consumer affairs - consumer affairs said after almost a month - they denied my request for a replacement since "the problem could not be duplicated the vehicle is deemed repaired". Infinity only test drove the vehicle once in the month it was there.even if they cant duplicate it i feel i am putting my families and others lives in danger.they are forcing me to return the loaner car and pick up my vehicle.i see there have been a few complaints for thisproblem and i'm looking for what to do next?

I was involved in accident on january 1, 2014 at approximately 12:00 p.m. While proceeding on vine street near its intersection with essex street in saugus, ma.the weather conditions were clear and dry as i approached the stop sign for me on vine street.in the rear seat of the vehicle were my daughter and her two friends.i was driving and no one was seated in the passenger seat.when i applied my brakesas i approached the stop sign, i did not feel any stopping power. Rather than proceed into the intersection (with traffic traveling on essex street) iimmediately turned the wheel to the left to go up on an island to stop the vehicle. In the process of bracing myself for an impact after going up on the island i severely extended myleg so forcefully that the left knee meniscus was torn requiring surgical repair on february 3, 2014.i immediately contacted aaa and had the vehicle towed tothe dealership (kelly infiniti ) where i had purchased the vehicle as i did not feel it was safe to drive this vehicle.there was approximately $2000 worth of damage done to the underside of the vehicle.although this vehicle was subject to a recall notice (which was never received by me) the dealership and nissan north america have taken the position that there was nothing wrong with the brake system software which could have caused my accident to occur.

There is a poignant burning smell when my 2013 jx35 is fully warmed up, stopped at light or stationary. Was able to observe clear oily substance on the rubber section/side of the power steering lines where it is held by the white factory connector at the firewall.the same clear substance travels down centrally over the cross-member and onto the hot exhaust system and smolders/burns.this appears to be a very similar problem as the nissan 2013/2014 murano campaign number is: 17v184000.dealer has confirmed leak is power-steering fluid and line should be replaced at owner's expense.owner's contention is this is a safety hazard effecting my and other units including the nissan pathfinder.all are based on murano platform.

Cooling fan assembly -part number 214813jade - motor assy- fan had to be replaced twice within a five year prior. Fan assembly prevents the car from overheating. The part went out at first time at approximately 65,000 miles and again at approximately 90,000 miles but less than 5 years. The replacement warranty was only for 1 year or 12,000.00 mile which ever came first.
