The contact owns a 2004 infiniti i35. While driving 80 mph, the lights on the instrument panel illuminated and the vehicle lost power and stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the computer system was replaced after three repairs; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

Engine stopped running without warning. Lost all power while driving on the road. Service engine light soon came on along with several other warning lights, engine would not restart readily and then stalled again without warning. Had to have the car towedfrom the road for repair. The cam shaft sensor and crankshaft sensors were replaced. This is the exact same repair conducted under the recall03v455000 for infiniti i35s for 2002 and 2003. Obviously this problem continued in cars produced in early 2004.

While driving on 3 separate occasions my vehicle just stopped. First incident while drive on highway, my vehicle shut off, i was unable to steer or control the vehicle.while stopped, i restarted the vehicle.the second occasion , i was traveling 30 mph and the vehicle just stopped.i restarted it.on the most recent occasion, january 13, 2015,i was at a red light, the car stopped running.when i restarted the car i experienced an electric shock through my car key. I am having a mechanic check out what is happening.this is extremely dangerous and frightening.

The i35 was hard to start, tcs, slip and check engine lights stayed on.dealer diag. Bank 2 cam shaft pos sensor failure.this problem appeared similar to nhtsa 2003 campaign number 03v455000.dealer stated there were no recalls for this problem in 2004 i35.the 2003 campaign report date was 04 nov 2003.my i35 was manf.07 oct 2003. I feel my 2004 cam shaft pos sensor should also be included in the 03v455000 or a new recall issued for it.the infiniti dealer would not cover the cost of replacing the failed cam shaft pos sensor.

I was driving the vehicle today and the car started to stall. Several lights came on like service, engine light, break light. Then total shutdown. I took it to local mechanic and he suspects that there's a problem with ignition and key tumbler. This sounds a lot like the gm problem with weak key tumblers and causing sudden stall and crash. Please investigate if infiniti i35 2004 have similar problems and should be recalled.

I had the oil changed in june 2013. In early july my daughter said that the engine light came on and a day or two later the car was making loud noises from under the hood. We checked the oil and it was bone dry. We chalked it up to thelast oil change as not having enough oil put in it. Well, 5 weeks later the same thing happened along with the oil light. I checked the oil and it's bone dry. All warning lights go off after putting oil in. The car is burning oil, a lot of oil very quickly with no residue on the driveway. I went online and many people are having the same problem, mileage should not be an issue. I have yet to bring it in to the dealer for fear that it will need an engine. Some light colored smoke comes out of the right side of exhaust. This is probably happening more than documented as owners may feel like there's not much to complain about with a 9 year old luxury car.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti i35. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart after the battery was recharged, but it failed to accelerate over 5 mph. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, the vin was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 208,000.

While driving about 40-50 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning. I pull over to the road side and was able to restart after several attempts. The service engine soon warning light was not illuminated. Later i found 2 pending dtc p0340 stored in ecm and contacted infiniti hotline. I was told there was no recall for my vehicle and i should file complaint to nhtsa. I also found many complaints by infiniti i35 owners on internet about the same engine stalling problem caused by failed camshaft sensors. The infiniti recall #03v455000 does not apply to my vehicle.

Consumer purchased a vehicle that the garage door opener will not work and dealers are refusing to service the vehicle.(built in garage door opener) *sc

I'm not sure if there was radio interference but a programmed radio station that i was listening to automatically skipped to another station. I've never had this happen in any other vehicles i've owned.i believe it may have to do with the bose 200 watt audio system the manufacturer installed in my vehicle. *la

Driving at 10 mph, the accelerator no longer revs up the engine.the engine stays at idle speed only.no lights on dashboard.i put it in neutral, and engine revs up.i turn it off and let it sit for 15 - 30 minutes and it drives fine.

Steering wheel shakes when brakes are applied.tremendous vibration occurs when brakes are applied. *la

During routine oil change, dealer informed me that front crossmember that supports engine and transmission is rotting/ rusting."engine/ transmission may drop".dealer informed that they could not perform the repair, was told to "consult a body shop".i have found that this is a common problem with (nissan) infiniti i35 and (nissan) maxima bodies.

Vehicle is unsafe to drive due to disintegration of the lower tie bar (directly below and supporting the radiator, engine, and transmission) due to rust. This is a 2.25" square metal frame component connecting the left and right front portions of the vehicles uni-body construction. It is also providing, one of two connecting locations for the hood latch assembly to be bolted into the frame.3/4 of my lower tie bar is missing in 7 years.this is the type of rust you would see on a vehicle left in a field for 30 years. Not a 7 year old garage kept meticulously maintained car.i filed a claim with infiniti consumers affairs and their response is there is nothing infiniti can do about this , it is normal wear. The i-35 is sister to the nissan maxima which also has the same problem, but nissan/inifinti will not accept responsibility for what is clearly a manufacturing defect.

There have been several attempts about six or seven to repair, straighten align this car to no avail.this and others if left unrepaired will be causing a lot of accidents.

I was approaching to intersection traffic light, slow down form 35mph to stop saw the green signal, try to move by applying the accelerator car does not move. On the dash i saw the lights abs and tcs off coming up and going every 3 seconds. Turn on the emergency lights hit the break put the car to parking & put to the d gear it moved slowly and other two lights came on seat belt light even though was wearing it, and air bag light came on. Even if i apply accelerator no noise of humming nothing, was able to safely move to the nearest place (gas station at the intersection) & able to park.after parking it i turned off the car and open the hood to see was everything alright with my car at this time i felt the strong smell of some wire or plastic burned ( felt the same smell while vehicle started to stall at the intersection but was not that strong). Everything looked alright. Let it cool down a bit then checked fluids, all the fluids were ok. Tried to crank did not start, all the light stays on and as i tried to crank all the lights on the dash flashes but does not turn on. Tried by putting into neutral and cranking it turned on about to move and abs tcs off lights started flashing every 3 seconds. Parked back and turned off. Waited for 10 to 15 minutes and tried to turn on no turning on. All the light comes on when i put the keys and turn to ready. As tried to crank it all the lights flashes. Called my brother came gave me jump it cranked but tcs abs started flashing.took out the battery wen to autozone 24hrs store to check it out they said battery is good 79% charge still remain. Came back installed battery tried to crank did not happen. Got the jump from my brother it cranked, but after few seconds lights abs tcs off started flashing. Parked it and left overnight. Towed it today to service center waiting for them to diagnose it.

Dt*:the contact stated the mud flaps on all four tires cause snow and ice to build up between the wheel wells and the tires.this causes the steering and control to be difficult.the build up caused the vehicle to slide on snow and icy roads.the dealership determined the build up occurs on all vehicles with that type of mud flaps.

Two motor mounts broke loose from rusted frame. Vehicle has less than 100,000 miles on it. Vehicle was inspected at a nissan dealership and the defect was found.vehicle was purchased in connecticut in june of 2017 and driven to las vegas nevada. Vehicle had 89,00 original miles when purchased.

Driving at 10 mph, the accelerator no longer revs up the engine.the engine stays at idle speed only.no lights on dashboard.i put it in neutral, and engine revs up.i turn it off and let it sit for 15 - 30 minutes and it drives fine.

The car had no symptoms of failure.the failure was the throttle position sensor.it fails intermittently without warning during normal driving conditions. During a failure the engine will not respond to any throttle inputs, therefore rendering the car immovable.car must be restarted to reset throttle sensor.has occurred in the middle of an intersection and on the highway, both seriously dangerous places to have loss of engine control.after contacting the dealership a new part was ordered, and after two weeks it arrived and works fine now.the two week notice was lack of stock for this part, which might indicate a widespread problem of this part.
