Read complaints for INFINITI G37 (2013)

Front passenger airbag off/on light. Showing off, while passenger is sitting in front passenger seat, and, car is traveling at legal speed limits, on both, city streets and interstate. This light, is identified and located below and to the lower right of the steering wheel. This condition has been in force, for a minimum of a couple of weeks. Brought car to ray brandt infiniti dealership, metairie, louisiana. And, the service department was nice and respectful, but, claimed to be clueless. This is clearly, a major safety issue.

Tamara recall . Recieved a notice on the air bag for a recall

Passenger air bag light would light up (meaning air bag will not deploy)when my wife (117 lbs) was seated on the front passenger seat.this was also happening on my 2010 nissan frontier pro 4x truck with leather seats. Nissan dealer could not fix it. They were blaming my wife. This is a safety issue!please help.thank you!

Approximately 2 months ago, the air bag warning light on the dash started flashing along with the icon on the front display warning about the passenger side airbag being off. There was no person sitting in the seat, nor was there any small items on the passenger seat. I looked up online how to reset the dash warning light and this worked up until about one week ago. Also, when someone now sits in the passenger seat, the warning light starts flashing along with the front display warning of the passenger side airbag being off. This would seem like a manufacturer defect and a safety hazard for any front passenger in my vehicle.

Passenger air bag sensor randomly will illuminate (reflecting system off) when adult is present in seat. Unable to locate recall but have heard this being an issue on forums with same model.

Passenger air bags on my g37 its being turned off with a passenger seating in the seat. First started with my daughter age 17 weights about 120 pounds and infiniti stated that their airbags are activated by weight and that she may be too small which she is 5'4 tall. They didn't address the issue and it continued to happen with everyone seating in the passenger seat including an adult male of 6'2 and over 200 lbs. I took it back to infiniti of tampa and they didn't address the issue. For the third time i take vehicle to infiniti and now they state their airbags have a sensor that measures body mass of a person to activate and that's the reason i am getting this issues with air bags and they suggested that i should seat my family and friends that ride in the front to go to the back seat for safety. Infiniti then took a look at my vehicle and gave me a same model loaner for the day which the same thing happen in that car. This is something that has to be address as it is a hazard for the safety of our love ones in case of a collision.

Passenger air bag constantly blinks. After looking up this issue i see many have had the same problem with this year model and prior year models.

Air bag warning light flashing.took to dealer for diagnosis.service advisor stated faulty passenger sensor, cost to repair $7,388.00 + tax and service fees.because of faulty sensor, air bag will not deploy in an accident.repair cost unreasonable for required safety feature.

While driving with a full size adult in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag light was illuminated, which indicates that the passenger air bag is off. This has continued to occur at various speeds including while idling. The car has been returned to the infiniti dealer four times.the infiniti service writer, manager and technician saw the passenger air bag light on. An infiniti engineer checked the car on 9/10/2014. His report stated that the car is operating according to specification. They see no need to pursue this problem any further while this problem continues, jeopardizing the passenger's safety.

The airbag light on the dash was flashing. The airbag light that indicates the passenger airbag is not on stays on even if a person is sitting in the passenger seat. This means that the airbag is not active when there is someone sitting in the passenger seat. If i got into an accident and the passenger airbag did not deploy, it could cause serious bodily injury to the passenger. The cost to repair is more than half of what the car is worth. In the picture, you can see the second item in the list is to replace the passenger seat sensor.

Passenger airbag sensor failed and results in a $7000 fix.their solution to the problem is a brand new seat.my son exited the vehicle and the airbag light started blinking and now doesn't stop, which means the airbag isn't on.also, one of the motors responsible for a flap which folds the top down has failed, making the top stop halfway down.the convertible top has four motors (one for each flap). And it's nearly $2000 per motor.the part is back ordered, so it makes me think it is a common problem.both of these issues are commonly reported by g37 owners on the internet.

In my 2013 infiniti g37 front 'passenger airbag off' light comes on and stays on (means passenger side air bag is disabled) even when a grownup person weighing over 100 pounds sitting on passenger seat, putting front passenger at risk in case of a crash. It seems "occupant classification system" (ocs) is not working as it should making car computer think that a child is sitting on front passenger seat. I have had my car checked by dealer twice but they did not find anything wrong and stated that "it's working as designed" but the issue still persist. On nhtsa web site i found out many other owners of infiniti 2013 g37 are experiencing the same issue with passenger side air bag. I also checked for any recall my car but did not find any, however there was a recall on "occupant classification system" for 2013 jx35. I suspect 2013 g37 "occupant classification system" has similar issue as 2013 jx35. On behalf of all 2013 g37 owner, we would be really appreciate it if nhtsa can investigate this critical safety further.

"airbag off" notification turns on when passenger is sitting in passenger seat. When a passenger is sitting in the passenger seat the airbag remains off. Searching the internet, it appears that many owners of infiniti g37s experience this problem, yet when i contacted the dealer they advised there was no recall.

Passenger air bag light is on.sensor under seat is defective, which has disabled the air bag from activating in an accident creating a dangerous situation. Seat must be replaced at $7,000.this is a known problem on many cars of this model.repair cost is excessive.should be a recall.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti g37x. The contact stated while driving 2 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent body shop but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate mileage was 1,800.

The vehicle was involved in an accident where another car hit the front of the vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy.

Air bag sensor fault in passenger seat. Air bag sensor does not work correctly, causing airbag to be inactive for all occupants of passenger seat. Infiniti does not offer a sensible fix. The only way to repair is to replace the entire seat ($8000). This is a safety issue that should be under warranty no matter the age of the car. I have found repeated evidence of this occuring often through looking at forums and websites that own this model and year.

The passenger air bag light illuminates (meaning the air bag will not deploy) when a full size adult is sitting in the passenger seat. The dealership states that the air bag light should illuminate on partial weight applied to the seat bottom. Dealership states that they tested by watching the airbag status in data monitor and found airbag activates when sitting in the seat properly and turns off when getting out of the seat. However light does not illuminate in this case. According to the dealership the system is working properly. This occurs when the vehicle is underway at any speed with adult passenger and seat belts fastened. When a full size adult (175 to 200 lbs. Is sitting in the passenger seat the air bag illuminates which contradicts the dealerships findings. Dealership is lokey infiniti of clearwater, fl who examined the system on 8-18-2018.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti g37. While driving various speeds, the air bag off warning indicator illuminated while the front passenger seat was occupied. The dealer could not duplicate the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

Passenger airbag occupancy sensor fails randomly with passenger weighing 130+ pounds properly position in the seat and the car in motion on highways, and city streets. The problem is indicated by the "airbag off" light remaining lit while a passenger weighing 130+ pounds is properly positioned in the passenger seat. Turns, speed, and road condition don't seem to alter the outcome.

I was in a parking lot. I backed out when i started to shift into drive the car accelerated and started to spin in circles. The steering wheel locked.i was not in control of the car and nothing would worked in the car. I couldn't shift gears so i shoved it into park.the car finally stopped but not before it hit an island causing $7822 in damages to the rear of the car. The air bags did not deploy. I was quite shaken up but had no serious injury. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was contacted at the local and regional levels. They had someone look at the vehicle but after 7 weeks they still have not contacted me with their findings. I am not driving the vehicle and i have not had it repaired.i fear that if i have it repaired and i sell the vehicle, it is an unsafe car and someone else will get hurt. I have found several reports of similar occurrences on the internet.

The contact owned a 2013 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the vehicle was rear ended while at a stop light, causing the contact to crash into another vehicle. The air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained a concussion, and injuries to the lower back, left rotator cup, and left arm that required medical attention. The other driver was also injured and required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a tow lot. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The contact also stated that she was involved in a crash on three different occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The air bag warning light for the passenger air bag on my 2013 infiniti g37 is constantly flashing on my dash and the passenger air bag off message is always on in my vehicle, even when my wife is sitting in the seat, and i have not had an accident. The light just started flashing on its own approximately 6 months ago. This would seem to me to be a legitimate safety issue. If i were in an accident, regardless of whose fault, and my wife was in the passenger's seat, she could sustain serious injuries due to the fact that the passenger air bag did not deploy due to a faulty sensor.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti g37.the contact stated that the passenger side air bag light was continuously illuminated when a passenger of one hundred pounds or lighter sat in the passenger seat.the dealer stated that the vehicle was working up to specifications.the manufacturer was not notified of the defect.the approximate failure mileage was 700.

I also owned a g35 2008 infiniti with the same problem..the doors lock and i can not get in or out. The lock actuators fail. The doors can not be opened mechanically or electrically. The doors were locked when i went in the gym for 1/2 hour and when i came out i could not enter the car the doors were loced and would not open. After a while i was able to get the back seat door open. I drove the car home and was unable to get out of the car . All doors locked. The only way out is through the window. This is a huge safety concern,

It started when i was pulling into the parking lot in my office building.with no warning, the car started to accelerate at around 7-8 rpm making a roaring noise heard by many witnesses.this resulted in losing control of the car which then went off the side of the lot into a steep decline where i hit a tree.if it wasn't for that tree there was another 60-70 ft drop into a canyon that i inevitably would have fallen into. You might say, "oh i might've pressed on the acceleration instead of the brakes", but there were skid marks left on the ground that would indicate i was already pressing the brakes to come to a stop, when it suddenly accelerated.in addition, i wouldn't have pressed the brakes that hard, so even if i did accidentally press the acceleration, there would be no way the car would hit 7-8 rpm without virtually flooring it.these are hypothetical situations that i am posing to show that it was not accidental on my part, but a defect within the car.this car posed a life threatening injury that i would like for future car owners to know and to take into account.please, please, please share this to anyone you know who owns this model car and report to every vehicle institution you guys know of.thank you.

My mother was driving her (2013) infiniti g37 on a city street when the car suddenly and unexpectedly turned off. She tried to restart it without any success and turn on her hazard lights, but the entire electric system had shut down for no apparent reason. She was very scared because cars were honking at her and after flagging down a police officer (30 minutes later),the car mysteriously turned back on. When she took it to the dealership, they did a quick computer check and told her nothing was wrong. And they said they had never heard of this happening even though my mother told them that she found several complaints on the internet recounting this same problem with this particular model of infiniti. We also reported this to the infiniti customer affairs department and they said they would look into it.

Engine shuts off when touching the accelerator pedal, just at the beginning so far.don't know if it'll happen while driving.car was stationary.

On the sunny and dry morning of december 9, 2020, i proceeded to alpine cemetery, perth amboy, nj to honor my mother's grave site and her anniversary. As i passed the gate entranceto the cemetery, i turned right; as i have always done in previous years. Once i turned to the right i noticed that there was a burial procession, with the funeral hearse obstructing the entire vehicle path. Since i could not drive forward, the only recourse i had was to turn around and find another vehicle path.once i had taken the new path, which i believe would lead me to my mother's grave site, i realized that i could not reach her grave site since it was further up the new path. Once i turned the vehicle to the left; the vehicle went automatically backwards then forwards with the sensation of taking off the ground like an airplane. I had no control of the vehicle and the vehicle proceeded automatically hitting numerous tomb stones until one tomb stone stopped the vehicle. This failure occurred numerous times until a 3ft tomb stone stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the car repair shop, instructed by njm insurance; vnf auto body 732-321-6919, 20 prospect street, metuchen nj 08840.

The passenger side rear parking brake cable has seized. It will not allow the actuator to move. It has destroyed the brake shoe lining on that side.

Clutch would not go back up. Csc failed i guess it's a common problem in g37s and 370z that are manual. Happened in the middle of traffic worst time possible didn't know what to do so i pushed my car to the side of the road. Not the best image you want people to see when your driving a infiniti.

The parking brake cable, as set from the factory, is way too loose to hold the car on even a slight incline. The parking brake handle takes excessive force to pull far enough to hold the vehicle from rolling. The dealer refuses to adjust the cable tension under warranty stating it is not covered. This is my second 2013 g37 with this issue.

Amber key light came on the vehicle's dashboard after the power lock window lights on the side of the doors started flickering and powering down while the car was in motion. Then i pulled over to an empty parking lot in the middle of the night to check the front hood of the car for any electrical fire or burning odors and then i i was unable to start the car when i turned it off and got stranded. It was horrifying and very upsetting.

While pulling into a parking space and braking going 1 or 2 mph the car surged forward with the engine revving loudly, causing the car to crash through a brick wall and into a restaurant ending in the car being totaled with over $15,000 of damage just to the car. The car only had 20,000 miles. A quick google search for "g37 surge while braking" results in numerous different accounts in which this has happened as well as on this website under infiniti g37.

My driver's door will not open with either the remote or the key at times, especially when it gets cold.other times if i get in, the door mechanism will not latch. Again, the remote does not fix this so i tried the lock button on the arm rest. That worked but then i could not get out. Not safe in the event of a fire, flood, or accident of any kind.i have had to climb over my console and i do notthink i should have to with a car the caliber of an infinity.no other car i have ever owned has had this problem.

The vehicle was involved in an accident where another car hit the front of the vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy.

Water leaking into the cabin of the g series vehicles , likely from the wearing gasket of the part known as 'plug-side trim'. Soaks the carpet and may possibly damage wiring under carpet (which may damage electronics and in the case of other manufacturers, cause fires), as well as create a mold\mildew hazard and condensation that can cloud road visibility.

The windshield is leaking on both driver and passenger side. Whenever there is a heavy down pour of rain my carpet is completely wet.it happens if i'm stationary and while driving.

The carpet on the passenger side gets wet and now moisture was on the inside of the wind shield. I am concerned that that my electronics and wiring under the carpet may be damaged as well as cause mold and mildew. Plus it will cause me financial difficulties but not because of my neglect but because of some fault with the car's manufacturing. The vehicle was stationary in my driveway when my wife told me that her side the passenger side was wet.

While driving on sept 15 from raleigh, nc to charleston, sc the sunroof on my infiniti g37 shattered.it was a clear sunny day with a temp about 80 degrees and to the best of my knowledge there was no foreign object that hit the car.i purchased the car new from the infiniti dealer in january 2015, the car has 3,200 miles and is kept in the garage at home and in a parking garage at work.

The inside gets completely wet when it rains.water leaks down on the passenger and driver side. This happens when the car is in motion and when it's not in motion.the rugs get soaked everytime.

When i tried to park the car in parking area slowly, but the car suddenly accelerate itself with big engine sound and run into canyon over parking area. Fortunately the car stop after hit the big tree otherwise i am not sure i can survive because there are very stiff canyon area after that tree. Please investigate it what problem of this car cause this incident. Thanks.

I recently replaced my cooper tire cs5 grand touring tires. Size 225/55r17 tires after a blowout on the freeway.i just learned that these tires were subject to a recall.my dealer could not provide the dot serial numbers because the tires were replaced with new ones. I called cooper tire consumer relations and was told they cannot provide a remedy if i do not have the tires with the dot numbers.i believe i have been penalized because i had a safety problem with the tires that caused me to replace them and can therefore not provide the required documentation.i am asking for your help in remedying the situation
