Bought this vehicle from crest infiniti with remainder of warranty which just ran out but as i went to sell the car privately the buyer was a car dealer in norman, ok who came down to plano, tx with trailer and cashier's check. After hooking up to diagnostic machine he refused to purchase due to an issue with the air bags and something about bypassed (report attached to complaint) air bags issue.this car was represented to me as never being in an accident and i never had one during the short time that i owned it.this is causing me a real problem as i have been diagnosed with terminal illness and need all the money i can muster through the sale of belongings with the auto being the durable good with the most value.they are now telling me that it really has very little value now because of this horrible air bag report.if i had bought it from a private party then caveat emptor would certainly apply but i bought it from a dealer with the remainder of warranty still applying to vehicle so 'as is' does not work here in my opinion. Attached: picture of report from dealers obd tool.
The seat sensor fails to detect passenger and does not activate the airbags even if a passenger is seated.
The contact owned a 2012 infiniti g37. On may 23, 2019, while driving 5 mph, the contact pulled into a parking space at the post office. Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated, drove over a cement barrier, and crashed into the building. On july 3, 2019, while driving 10 mph, the contact slowed down to park. Once again, the vehicle accelerated, drove over a curb, and crashed into the side of a building. During both failures, the air bags did not deploy and there were no injuries. Police reports were not filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home and deemed totaled by the contact's insurance company after the last crash. The contact called infinity of lynnwood (17305 hwy 99, lynnwood, wa 98037, (425) 409-6274) and was advised to have the vehicle towed to them for inspection. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.
Air bag warning light on 2012 g37 convertible with only 46,000 mi. Infinity service found code b1018 occupant sensor failure passenger seat.quoted cost of repair at $7200 to replace seat base.this is obviously a design defect when cannot replace a sensorwithout replacing the whole base.this is obviously a sensor defect when you see the numbers that have reported this failure (imagine the number that did not report)this should be a safety recall and. Covered by infinity.$7200 to repair a failed sensor is unreasonable.
The contact owns a 2012 infiniti g37. After re-charging the vehicle's battery, the air bag sensor remained illuminated, which was a safety concern. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (nissan of richmond in richmond, va) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,000.
I brought in my 2012 for maintenance at an infiniti service dealer.i received a "new" battery as i was told the battery needed replacement soon.come to find out, the "new" battery was actually a faulty component and my car would not start.i brought it in for diagnostics and they said nothing was wrong.i told them that it must be the battery since i never had that issue before.the battery issue continued and i would have to jump my car off.the day i had to bring it back to infiniti, i had to jump off the car and right after i did, the airbag light began flashing and codes indicated a faulty diagnosis sensor unit for the airbag.they then did their diagnostics again and determined that the battery itself was the problem in the car-starting issue, yet the infiniti bag light continued to blink.the dealer said the cost would be $1600 to replace the sensor/control unit.the airbag has never been deployed and i never had issues until the battery replacement with a faulty battery and thus creating the need to jump start the vehicle.the light came on right after a jump start. I never saw the light before that.
I have been notified by the dealer that the airbag sensor is 'out' and will need to be replaced at a cost of $2200.that is roughly 25% of the car's value.
Car battery drained while car was unoccupied (in a garage) for two weeks. After jumping car operated as normal except for airbag light. Infiniti dealer informed me that the airbag diagnostic unit had failed and airbags would not deploy until a $1500 repair was done. Dealer noted that the unit likely failed when the battery was at low power or when jumping (jumped car exactly according to owner's manual).
The air bag sensor on the passenger seat has failed and the passenger seat does not recognize even an adult person sitting on it. As a result the airbag-off light for the passenger is always on and i am afraid if the rest of the airbags are working properly due to this faulty sensor. I looked up online after my sensor failed and it seems like this is a common issue for g37 vehicles.nissan seems to have aleady had a recall for faulty airbag sensors for model year 2007-2008 but it looks like the issue hasn't been completely resolved in vehicles from subsequent model years too.
Passenger airbag off light comes on intermittently when a >120lb person is in the passenger seat.
Air bag system is not working at all times.
2012 infiniti g37 35000 miles.displays flashing passenger airbag light whenever the ignition is on, and the "passenger airbag off" light illuminates continuously even with adult in passenger seat.local infiniti dealer troubleshoot and indicated that to fix the bad passenger seat sensor the entire seat would require replacement at a cost of $8k. I appealed directly to infiniti consumer affairs; they declined to offer any assistance as the vehicle was beyond the warranty time period.this is a design flaw--customers should not be faced with the choice of either bearing the extreme cost of poor engineering or putting passengers at risk.*dt
My passenger seat weight sensor is malfunctioning going on and off at various times into the drive and various weighted passengers. This seems to be a very common problem on my 2012 g37 sport and the seat (sensor cannot be changed out so have to buy the whole seat) ranges between $5000 and $8000. This seems to me to be a safety issue, what were to happen if any one of us having this issue were to get into an accident with a passenger? from what ive read the passenger air bag will not go off with this light on so therefore my passengers safety is at risk because of a very common issue from infinity. Light goes on and off even sitting stationary.
Power steering pump and passenger airbag malfunction. Many infiniti owner have or have had the same issue. I think customers don't have to pay for any repairs if there is a big demand on these problems. These two problems happen when my family and i were driving on the highway. I don't understand why this problem hasn't been called as a recall.
Sitting in driveway i started the car and side airbag light came on for no reason.i have spoken to multiple people and they all seem to have this issue with this vehicle.this should be a recall fix as it puts people in danger.
My car has a light on which refers to the passenger airbag.
Drivers side door airbag had to be replaced and also the passenger seat occupancy sensor is bad and the seat needs to be replaced. These items were diagnosed at 55,000 miles on the car
Infiniti g37 convertible year 2012, with 11,400 miles (secondary car very low miles) displayed passenger airbag error/will not deploy airbag in a crash.the car was started and the display light never went off and has stay on every since while driving. Took the car to westhouston infiniti service one week later and was told a sensor was bad and that the entire seat would require replacement at a cost of 6k (my seat is almost brand new).i questioned why i should have to pay for what is surly a design flaw and the price is outrageous.i decline as that price was not doable and contacted infiniti consumer affairs who listen to state issue and sent an email that no assistance would be given due to warranty had expired.i can't afford to replace an entire seat for a sensor. I'm trying to understand why this is not their responsibility as i know others with the same issue.my firm position is no car company should be allow to require consumers to bare the burden of poor engineering.
G37 2012' infiniti journey coupe. Vin. # [xxx]my air bag light on my dash board, indicated that my passenger side air bag has been disabled. Check if there's a fix! ,,,,it was suggested that it must be brought back to the dealer to check out!service chg. $150. If it must be repaired the cost to repair the issue...a chg. To repair & replace the controller & front passenger seat would be in excess of $6,000. I've checked on line complaints & many owners have experienced the same issue!...to no avail! safety should be the issue, especially for the ongoing problems with 'faulty air bags' causing some very serious accidents?might be a takata air bag issue?can you help.sincerely [xxx]redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc
Passenger side airbag flashes often
The contact owns a 2012 infiniti g37x.the contact stated that the passenger side air bag indicator continuously illuminated as being off even though the passenger seat was occupied.the failure has occurred for two years.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that there was a flaw in the sensor.the vehicle has not been repaired.the manufacturer was notified of the defect.the approximate failure mileage was 16,000. ....updated 07/23/14 the consumer was informed that if a person weighed less than 110 lbs the air bag would not deploy. Updated 07/29/14
Passenger airbag light blinks. Took car to dealer and they said the seat bottom needs replacing as it is an occupancy sensor failure. Cost for part is $6500.00. Cost to install and reset is $500. That repair is half the value of what it is worth.i called infinity'not under warranty or recall.have read online that multiple owners of these models are having same issue. I feel that this is a potential safety-related defect in the vehicle.
Faulty passenger airbag sensor. Infiniti is aware of the prevalent problem but will not issue a recall. The passenger air bag is deactivated even with adult passengers in the passenger seat. This is a major safety issue.i took the vehicle to the infiniti dealer for repair and they said it would cost $9,000.00 to repair. This is an outrage and several other owners have experienced this same issue.
Airbags is not working. Nissan dealer is asking $7,000.00 to replace it with new one.
The airbag light is blinking.i took the car to infiniti and i'm told that the there is a failure code b1018 stored due to internal failure of occupant airbag detection sensor.they are charging $6,653 to replace this part.$348 is labor and the remainder is the part cost.the car has 47,800 miles and is out of warranty by 3 months.infiniti usa told me that the air bag would not deploy on the passenger side and that i should replace it immediately as it is a safety hazard for passengers which are mainly my children.due to the fact that this part is priced so far out of reach for most normal consumers, i asked infiniti usa for some consideration as this is my only car.they declined any type of assistance in replacing the part.in other words, its dangerous enough for me to pay almost $7000 to replace it but not dangerous enough for them to help fix it.i was told at the dealership that they are seeing this sensor issue more and more on cars 3-4 years old and that they are not making them like this anymore.
On june 4 i pulled into a drive to turn the car around and park.i stopped the car, put it into reverse, and pressed the gas pedal;.the car stalled and i pressed the gas pedal again with the regular force.suddenly the car accelerated and i felt a jerk and heard a bang as it hit a car that was just backing out of the driveway cross from min.my car was going so quickly that the other driver commented on the speed it was going.my car incurred considerable damage, the rebar was damaged, and i took the car int "collision" for repair.at collision, i was told by2 people that mini had a problem with acceleration.priori to the accident, my car occasionally stalled when i was backing it out of the garage.i have since been told that this "stalling" or "stumbling" was a signal that there was a defect that could have been fixed.
The contact owns a 2012 infiniti g37. The contact attempted to start the vehicle, but it would not start without charging the battery. On january 30, 2014, the contact stated that the failure mileage was 18,430. After parking the vehicle, the instrument panel illuminated and the vehicle started after the battery was charged. The failure recurred on september 18, 2014 and the failure mileage was 20,900. When the contact opened the door, a beeping noise sounded approximately six times and all of the warning indicators illuminated; however, the headlights and the interior lighting failed to illuminate. As a result, the contact had to drive at night without headlights. In addition, the transmission fluid contaminated the radiator and the engine, which caused the vehicle to shut off while driving approximately 35 mph. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact was responsible for the repairs, which included flushing the engine. The dealer stated that the transmission fluid contaminated the electrical system and engine, which caused the failure to occur. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20,940.

There is a water leak rage from the sunroof. My car gets soaked in water and it's not preventable. Creates a smell and mold
The cooling system in this vehicle has a two part performed hose that connects the engine cooling system to the cabin heat exchanger. The two parts are connected with a plastic junction with two spring clamps. This vehicle has approx 85k miles and still has the original coolant. This junction disintegrated. It appears to not be compatible with the coolant. It delaminated and sheared. Luckily it broke while stopped in the garage. If it had happened at high speed it would have spewed the coolant at the rear of the engine, and at least some of it would have gone to the windshield, obstructing the view. I have saved the disintegrated part.*dt
The vehicle was in motion and wouldnot enter 3rd or 4th gear.when i brought it into the retailer they said i needed transmission valve body replaced at a cost of $3000.the car only has 55,000 miles on it.what would cause this?

While my wife was traveling on a local neighborhood street my infiniti g37 it began to accelerate excessively. She tried stepping on the brake but the car kept accelerating. She came to the end of the road at an intersection doing about 40 mph and turned to the left to avoid going into a house. In doing so she hit a sewer drain with her right front tire causing the vehicle to go almost airbourne. She came to rest without striking the house. The steering wheel airbag went off. *dsy

2012 infinite g37x. Consumer writes in regard to driver side rear door not opening. *asthe consumer stated he no longer owns the vehicle.
While driving on freeway, clutch got stuck.i was unable to switch gears.i ended up stopped in the #2 lane and could not move.i had to push my vehicle to the side of the road with the help of another motorist.i finally got the vehicle back into gear by pulling up the clutch using the top of my shoe.after i resumed driving, the clutch got stuck again.i brought the vehicle to the dealership and informed them of the issue.i also opened a file with infiniti usa.i have video from when my car was disabled showing that the clutch was stuck and vehicle could not be put into gear.very very dangerous!
Did not bring back the gear to park and pressed the start button. Left the vehicle not hearing the very weak signal. Wrote to manufacturer about this design issue. They did not care, even they responded that it is the way it is designed. Any driver with european or manual gear background will make the same mistake. The car was positioned on a slope, in a garage after i arrived at my destination. An agent had the reflex to jump in the car (i left the door opened) and stop the vehicle. Without this initiative, the car would have crashed against another car down the slope (very steep in a new york garage) and get the whole front crashed and the other car's side. But in a street anywhere, it can just kill someone!

This vehicle has a generic problem with acceleration: under some circumstances, especially at low speed when the accelerator pedal is pushed hard for rapid acceleration, the car will not accelerate, but hesitate, for almost 2 seconds, before finally accelerating.in some circumstances, this can be a serious safety issue: merging into (rapidly moving) traffic, seeking to cross an intersection, striving to avoid inattentive or careless drivers, etc.i have complained about this repeatedly to the dealership.they say it is a transmission issue, but they admit it is a known issue.yet nothing has been done.i regard this as so serious that i am ready to sell the vehicle (tho we like it in every other respect): an oncoming train, or any other vehicle traveling 60 mph, travels 176 feet in 2 seconds, while we are sitting in the car going nowhere.!

The contact leases a 2012 infiniti g37. The contact stated that due to the design of the seat padding he has developed pain in his hip that worsens every time the vehicle was driven. Please, please back off on your head rest requirements for safety.please allow the consumer to choose the position of the head rest.not only honda, but ford, gm, chrysler, all manufacturers are creating very painful car seats since 2009 due to this awful headrest requirement.seatbelts are a law, but i choose to wear them.motorcycle helmets are no longer a law, but i choose to wear them.now let me choose my headrest position.i think these new designs are going to cause far more injuries and insurance claims from people having their heads cocked forward, in a forced improper posture.i had migraines due to my headrest before i resolved this issue in my car by making modifications.i sit with proper posture and my head is forced forward.the only choice i had was to sit improperly in order to try to avoid the terrible discomfort this new law forces on me.please change this law.

The contact owns a 2012 infiniti g37. While driving 5 mph into a parking space, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to respond, but spontaneously accelerated instead. The vehicle jumped the curb and crashed into a fence. There were no warning indicators illuminated. There were no injuries. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not towed and remained at the crash site. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 160,000.
When i am braking and coming closer to a stop, my car gives a jerk along with an increase in engine speed. Sometimes when i brake i can feel the foot brake stuck for one second.
Traveling at approx. 25 mph on a surface street, the front right wheel dislodged from the vehicle, causing the vehicle to go out of control the wheel hit the side of a parked car, and my wife (driver) hit the side of the next parked car, before coming to a stop. Infiniti's inspector stated that the "knuckle" broke, and that is what caused the wheel to dislodge.however, as of now, infiniti is assuming no liability in this accident.
Identical dents/scratches on either side of panel cause by design flaw and experienced by many owners after about 3 or 4 k miles.dealer has failed to respond to my complaint. Harte infiniti, hartford, ct.i have also tried to send formal complaint to infiniti official headquarters but cannot confirm that they received it.not a problem that would cause injury but a cosmetic issue that infinity should address and recall for permanent fix.
Takata recall: after finding an odor in my vehicle regularly, i took my car to the dealership in hopes of finding the issue and resolving it. I was informed that i have a leak in my car. The sunroof has drain to transport water to the outside of the car. There is a firewall with clips that allow for this to function properly. The firewalls in my sunroof drain have failed causing water to sit beneath the carpet of my car. The carpet is soaked as the water has no where to go and the smell is almost unbearable. In doing research and consulting with the dealership, i have found that this issue is not preventable. The material surrounding the clips in my firewall have worn out. The dealership can replace the clips and place another substance on it to prevent the issue from happening again. The cost to replace the slips, clean the carpet, and disinfect with labor is $1,200.00. The longer that the water sits there, the longer the odor remains and the higher the risk of causing other issues and having mold in the vehicle. I have been dealing with the odor for almost a month now but i most recently was informed of the specifics.
The contact owns a 2012 infiniti g37. On several occasions, the door lock actuators failed to operate as intended intermittently. As a result, the contact was unable to exit the vehicle. On one occasion, the contact had to exit the vehicle through the passenger side of the vehicle. Additionally, after the vehicle was exited, the contact was unable to lock the door using the key fob or key. The contact stated that the failure affected all four doors. The vehicle was taken to sanford infiniti (located at 995 rinehart rd, sanford, fl 32771, (407) 915-3826) where it was diagnosed that the door lock actuators needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 35038060. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.

*dsy
