Air bag passenger sensor defective, very common occurrence with nissan/infiniti vehicles.sensor fails randomly

A light came on saying the passenger seat air bag was not working.the vehicle was sitting still and the light continued while the vehicle was in motion.i took the car to an infiniti dealer and he said the entire seat would have to be replaced to fix the sensor for an excessive cost of of $6,711.08.this has been fixed on 2012 and later models, but there are thousands of 2008 - 2011 models out there that can incur this ridiculous high cost and owners have no idea of what it may cost tomorrow.

Airbag light flashing when vehicle is turned on and remains on throughout driving until vehicle is shut off. Vehicle was not in an accident or any modifications performed on vehicle.

The airbag light on the dash came on flashing one day, and has never stopped. A mechanic cleared the light once when i brought the car in for something else, and the light came back on the next day. The airbag light on the dash says that the airbag is off. From my understanding, this means that none of the airbags will deploy if there is an accident. I am very concerned. This seems like a common issue for this car and nissan/infiniti doesn't seem to care.

Air bag light is flashing, passenger side air bag not engaged.available for inspection.this is an inherent safety risk for anyone sitting in passenger side front seat, i have to ask all of my passengers to sit in the back.problem confirmed by two dealerships, with the second happily quoting over $4k to repair as the entire seat must be replaced.light has been on for some time, online tips to reset have not worked.

Air bag warning light would not go off.took it to a dealership and was told the problem is "occupancy sensor unit failure".need to replace the occupancy sensor and control unit, at a cost of $6,888.i am appalled that infiniti does not have a recall concerning this safety issue!!if an accident occurs, the airbags will not deploy.infiniti is supposed to be a high quality car.so disappointing!

The airbag light flashes red on the dash panel indicating the passenger airbag is not on. It also shows on the panel under the air conditioner controls that the passenger air bag is off.this is a safety issue and it is due to a faulty safety restraint system sensor the in the passenger bottom seat.infiniti has had recalls and issues with this srs system in the passenger seat while they did not recall the 2011 infiniti g37.my g37 has approximately 23,500 miles and they want over $5,000.00 to replace the whole seat bottom.this is a defective product and someone needs to be held accountable.to top things off, my dash is melting and i know they had a class action lawsuit in florida with nissan melting dashboards in 2008.i guess this could also be a safety issue since the dash is sticky and hot and if a child were to touch it they could possibly get burned not to mention the mess.infiniti consumer affairs said they would not remedy either issue.what a quality product......i will never buy another nissan/infiniti vehicle and have owned 5.

The air bag light is blinking. Also the convertible hard top does not open.

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle, the passenger's side air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to sandy sansing nissan located at 3100 s. Mckenzie st, foley, al 36535 who diagnosed that the air bag sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 49,500.*dt

The air bag sensor light on the dash has illuminated.this means that the switch in the seat does not detect an occupant so the air bag will no deploy in a crash.infinit of memphis wants to charge $8000 to replace the seat!this is a safety hazard and should be a recall issue.i see many complaints on this website about the exact same issue.how do we initiate a manufacturer recall?

My wife was pulling into her parking spot at work with her foot on the brake when the car suddenly lurched forward.she clearly remembers braking as normal when parking and had witnesses standing within 15 feet that noticed the sound of the brakes and the brake lights lit.my wife's head hit and cracked the windshield. In addition to head injuries, she has whiplash and other injuries.the front bumper was badly damaged along with fluids leaking from the engine.the air bags never deployed.

Passenger airbag not active light on dashboard on all the time regardless if someone is sitting in the seat with seat belt latched .i have 25,500 miles on the vehicle and i am concerned the passenger is at risk if the airbagwill not operate in a crash. Seat sensor defective per on-line forums and a $6,000.00 fix to replace passenger seat w sensor built in to correct it.

The passenger airbag off light turns on even if a passenger is sitting in passenger seat . I checked with inifiti and they say everything is fine but i still see the issue. In worst case if i met with an accident the passenger airbag might not open up. Can cause fatalities . I'm having this issue since 2 years

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the sensor on the passenger side failed. The vehicle was taken to bradshaw infiniti (2600 laurens rd, greenville, sc 29607, (888) 256-5250)where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. No further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 91,286.

I am writing the complaint to inform you and request an investigation into the infiniti advanced air bag system (aabs) passenger seat sensor. I recently purchased a 2011 infiniti g37x sedan with approximately 62,251 miles on june 28th, 2021. This vehicle has had one owner prior to me and has a clean carfax report with no issued accidents or collisions reported, based on the overall evaluation from an independent repair shop.the main issue experienced with the g37x vehicle and the reason for the manufacturer should create a safety recallwas the air bag seat sensor was malfunctioning, as verified by an independent mechanic.i have experienced other vehicle manufacturers issue voluntary recalls and repairs because these passenger occupancy sensors may degrade and fail to detect a passenger in the front seat. This appears to be a very common recall issue. The fault code presented from the odb-ii confirmed to be the air bag seat sensor was malfunctioning and required to be replaced/repaired completely, or all the airbags would not deploy at all to the passenger and both the driver. I am therefore requesting that infiniti/nissan north america to investigate and note this experience/issue with the air bag seat sensor and issue a recall for this particular issue to the owners of such affected vehicles. I deem that there is a risk of many vehicles that are having a similar issue with the seat sensor which will cause the air bag system to not function properly in the event of an accident or collision when the air bag would needed to be deployed.

Infiniti should recall all affected g37 passenger air bag sensors.my infiniti g37 journey sedan has an issue of "passenger airbag off light" turning on when even an adult sits on the passenger seat while the vehicle is moving. It seems like the speed of the vehicle does not change the result. The light does not come on all the time but it does come on often enough to concern me. My wife is about 110 pounds and the airbag sensor should detect her as an adult and it should activate in case of a collision. However, when the "passenger airbag off" light is on when an adult sits in the passenger seat, it is a safety issue and infiniti should address it to insure basic safety of its occupants. According to the www.myg37.com forum there are many g37 owners with the same issue. Yet there is no warranty or recall issued yet. Infinit dealers say the problem is the sensor and the whole seat must be replaced and its cost is about $8,000 and the owner is responsible for the full price.

My air bag light for my passenger side has been in for at least three years. Then a year ago the driverā€™s side warning light came on. It is unsafe to drive. I cannot believe there has not been a recall. Took it to a dealership and they stated no recall and is costs 3-4 thousand dollars per sensor to fix. There needs to be an air bag sensor recall for this car.

Passenger air bag warning light just started to flash with no one in the passenger seat. Apparently it is the sensor built into the seat.did some research and this seems to be quite common in this particular model. Cost to repair over $6000.00

The airbag control unit and sensor needs to be replaced.looking online this seems to be a common issue and there have been recalls for the same issue on different models/years.the parts for this are extremely expensive, $6,800 is the quote i received from nissan.

Passenger seat sensor and side airbag problem.

Passenger airbag light came on (april 5, 2017)while on highway. Had dealer diagnose and the results came out as the sensor has failed.the whole seat needed to be replaced. Costing over 6k usd, sensor cant be replaced by itself is absurd. Extended warranty did not cover it either even with premier care from all state.i tried getting it taken care of because lives are at stake but what can you do if you cant afford to fix it. It costs a seat or a down payment towards a new car. They should issue a recall for this. Ive seen online that im not the only one whose having this issue especially from nissan/infiniti

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37. The contact stated while the turning on the ignition, the front passenger's side air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer lake norman infiniti (20435 chartwell center dr, cornelius, nc 28031, (704) 464-4117) where it was diagnosed with needing the front passenger seat to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

The airbag warning light is blinking in the dashboard and the passenger airbag is registering as off even when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. Infiniti identified the issues as a faulty sensor in the passenger seat and is charging upwards of $7,000 for a repair for something that is a pure safety issue.

The passenger airbag light is flickering on the dash. The passenger airbag light indicates that is it off whether someone is sitting in the seat or not. I took the vehicle to an infiniti dealer where they quoted roughly $1500 to replace an airbag sensor in the passenger seat and possibly the seat bottom. This is a major safety concern due to a faulty component. I called infiniti usa to inquire about receiving financial assistance for the repair. Their response was no since the vehicle was out of warranty. I am aware that a similar recall was made to the 2008 g37 model which is basically the same car. A malfunctioning airbag is a major safety concern for me, and i believe this is the responsibility of the manufacturer to correct.

My infiniti has 100,000 miles on it.nothing at all happened to cause my problem - no accident, nothing special.it just suddenly, for no apparent reason, now has a flashing indicator that represents a problem with the passenger air bag that will cause it to fail massachusetts state inspection.i took it to the dealership in infiniti of nashua in nh.i was told that it was a sensor problem, not a problem with the airbags themselves.alas, the sensor can only be fixed my replacing the entire seat assembly.i was assured that this was very minor in terms of labor (maybe a couple of hours), but that it would require me to purchase an extremely expensive part.the dealership quoted me $10,000 for a car that is now worth about $12,000.when i did not jump at this offer, they contacted me three days later to say that infiniti usa was offering me a discount and they would replace the sensor (via the whole seat assembly) for $7000.i have since gone to a reputable mechanic who said that the part costs about $6500.so not only was infiniti of nashua trying to take advantage of me (perhaps because i am a woman), infiniti usa is trying to get me to pay $6500 for a freaking sensor.my car is going to have to go into the trash heap.i see many other people discussing similar problems.infiniti should be responsible for either fixing the problem - it is a massive design flaw that puts passenger at risk and makes their vehicles worthless far before their time.i will never buy another infiniti again and will badmouth them at any opportunity.

When driving on a city street the passenger air bag light came on. Took the car to sandy sansing nissan in foley, al.was told that the air bag sensor was faulty. After researching this it seems that this problem is common among g class vehicles.infinity had a recall on the occupant classification system "ocs" manufactured by continental automotive systems in which a varistor in the ocs control unit may have been manufactured out of specifications.under certain conditions, this could interrupt the signal between the ocs and the airbag control unit, causing the passenger airbag to be suppressed in an accident. The recall began nov. 4, 2008. If this recall was in 2008 why is infinity still having this problem in 2011? what corrective action did infinity take to solve and keep the passenger safe in the event of an accident? if corrective action was not taken this could result in the passenger airbag beingsuppressed which could fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash. I ask that infinity test the signal between the ocs and acu using a special tool to check that it is functioning as designed.if necessary the seat cushion (containing the ocs hardware) will be replaced with a new one manufactured to specifications. I reference this to recall number 08v521000 (passenger airbag may not deploy). I have contacted infinity and have filed a complaint with infinity but have not received a response for corrective action from them.this is an update to dot auto safety, reference # 11383307

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to naples infiniti (5880 naples blvd, naples, fl 34109, (239) 948-7773) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the air bag sensor was faulty and the seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000. The vin was not available.

Airbag sensor for the passenger side has gone bad resulting in the airbag not deploying if in an accident.stationary. Repair cost os over $9,000.00. After research have found that this seems to be a manufactures defect but no recall has been issued for the year and model.

Passenger air bag off warning came up, flashing in red, which means the air bag would not trigger, result in life threatening and may cause the death for a passenger in the front seat.the vehicle was stationary in a garage, noticed it in the morning.

Airbag light illuminated; infiniti dealer said need to replace both front seats at cost of $15,000 to fix (replace) faulty airbag sensors. Low mileage 2011 vehicle (62,199); no accidents or problems that caused the airbag light to illuminate. Dealer says airbags will not work, and only fix is replacement of both front seats.online search turns up many infiniti owners with same issue.

Takata recall,my car has experienced total shut down of airbags due to a faultysensor in the passenger seat.after online research i have discovered that this is a quite common occurence and creates a public safety hazard.due to the high cost of repair, $5000+, many citizens do not have the problem fixed, thus driving without any airbag protection. Also many people are reporting that soon after buying a used nissan product that the same problem occurs.i think this could lead one to believe that this is a quite common problem underreported by the primary parties. This along with the fact of excessive repair cost is , in my opinion, is creating an unnecessary public safety hazard which warrants further investigation.i thank you for the opportunity to allow you to receive my concerns.

Nissan/infiniti safety issuethe airbag light is blinking - sewell infiniti mentioned that it was the occupant detection sensor and it would be roughly 6000 to fix. This is an insane amount for a deadly issue as my airbags will not deploy if i am in an accident. A google search shows a trend of this problem occurring with the g37, and it needs to be a recall. Nissan/infiniti have several other models that have been recalled for the exact same problem - this is a defect from the manufacturer they are trying to sweep under the rug on a car with under 60,000 miles. I bought the car with 36,000 miles and have not had a single issue up until now.

Takata recall:infiniti recalled an entire line of cars with faulty air bags/seat sensors, but did not cover all cars.i have a 2011infiniti g37x with only 50k miles that i am being charged 7k to replace a seat cushion that has a failed sensor.this problem is widely known in a significant number of infinitis, yet the manufacturer will not repair obviouly faulty parts that were installed.this presents a massive saftey issue if i cannot afford a repair that i should never have to make.name another car of any make/model that has seat cusions fail.it is disgusting that infiniti will not correct their error, and worse that a government agency that is aware of the problem doesnt support buyers who are obviously being taken advantage of.

The airbag light on the dashboard has been blinking. I took it to get repaired and the dealer told me i would have to replace the passenger seat. The cost is $7,000. I have not done anything to the seat. So, no airbag will be deployed if i am in an accident. Why has this not been recalled? this should be on the maker of the vehicle and not the consumer.

Airbag warning light flashing. Dealer evaluation showed occupant seat sensor unit failure. Told whole bottom seat assy needs to be replaced. Part alone is $6500+i feel this should be covered by the manufacturer. There was no accident, collision, trauma, etc. Warning light began in august 2019.extended warrantee expired 7/31/19

Car died at 2 years 35k.wouldn't start despite apparent accessory power.rolled down hill damaging door. Car was used normally every day and was never left in a manner that would draw power while parked.it was also never left undriven for more than 12 hours.the car was, however, driven for mostly short trips.dealer diagnosed it as a dead battery.an internet search shows that this is an extremely widespread problem.there is a tsb for the coupe but not the sedan for a continuous power leakage from the vent control valve. I have had my car serviced twice for unable to crank when i put the key in the ignition,.there is a 30 - 45 second delay before the car crank.i am still experiencing this problem. My car only has 1400 miles on it.yes, 1, 400 miles.

Rear speaker amp caught fire and burned the rear of the vehicle near the fuel tankmarch 19, 2021. The electrical fire occurred several hours after the vehicle had been parked under an apartment housing complexcarport.had it not been noticed the structure along with several other vehicles could have caught fire.pasco washington fire identified the source as the factory amp in the rear of the vehicle having started the fire. It is available for inspection

Driver's side window rejects automatic roll-up. When using the one touch auto roll-up function, the window rolls-up, but comes back down on it's own (back to half-way down) once it reaches the top. This has happened a lot prior to paying for an infiniti dealership to replace the window motor and now happens periodically (4-6 times per month) after the motor was replaced. Date of service 1/2/18 #esc window moter - 4170 cext - 1 80731-jl00a motor assy - regulator, lh$395 notes form mechanic: "found drivers windo moter weak so windo will not stay timed. Replaced moter and re timed window". Performed by austin infiniti (invoice # 97034). This would occur during driving, while vehicle was stationary and also only when accessories were on (engine not on). Anytime prior to fix. Now it continues to happen randomly/peiodically due to unknown reason.

Left headlight holds humidity without any cracks or damage to the light assembly. As a result, left main headlight does not work. Electrical control unit (radio, air, display unit) shuts off sporadically and will not shut on until car is restarted. Light with "swerving car" will not shut off. Brake light sporadically comes on.

Two weeks after having my g37 serviced at the las vegas dealership the engine shut down while driving on the freeway at full speed. The car rapidly lost power and speed. The gas peddle was unresponsive and after decelerating, the car would only move forward at very slow speed.a major accident was avoided only through the quick actions of trailing traffic which had to slam on their brakes. After towing back to the dealership they reported the heater hose failed. Their vehicle inspection report provided to me two weeks early reported the heater hoses and connectors where inspected and did not require replacement.when i questioned this they stated it was a plastic part within the heater hose that failed and they don't check that. I consulted the maintenance manual for the car and at now mileage or time point does infiniti recommend replacing the hose. I have had this car serviced at an infinity dealership every 7,500 miles since bought new.at no time did they ever recommend replacing the hose. This may be more of a safety issue with infiniti's service program than the car. But the car computers response to the condition also but driver safety at risk.

Driver lost complete control today in a parking lot. The brakes steering and engine shut down preventing any control by the driver, the car stopped rolled and stopped on its own.luckily was in a parking lot and was involved in any accident.

As i was waiting to cross a major highway junction in upper marlboro, md, i almost had a collision after crossing the highway due to what i suspect a faulty transmission with hesitation in shifting.there was a suv waiting to turn and while i had the right of way, they pulled off and as my chance to cross the 2 lane highway, they did too.i punched the gas and in the middle of the road, the engine took a few seconds to get into gear so i literally was in the road of oncoming traffic that was driving at speeds in excess of 55+ mph.it happened within 5 seconds but after i crossed avoiding a front and side collision, i pulled off the road because i was shaking.other instances while driving at highway speeds that i pull into the left hand lane to pass a car in front of me and the engine is slow to respond as it accelerates from a low gear resulting in a lagging sound/ reading of the tach jumping around as i'm nearly hit from behind because the cars hesitation in accelerating. I'm also hearing the engine rev up with no take off, shifting in drive sport (ds) mode is not responsive and even using the paddle shifters isn't any better.i feel this car is going to be a detriment if infiniti doesn't address the problem with the 7 speed at.it happens under light acceleration on the 3-4 or/and 5-6 upshift. I even smelled the engine after i got out of the car after driving to the store that was in medium/ light traffic about 20 minutes.

Radio volume unresponsive. Iphone 4 became unresponsive also using bluetooth connection. Turned volume off and engine at stop sign. Did not help at all. Turned engine off at home for 2-3 mins and turned it back on. This time everything worked again.

Fog lights have what appear to be burn marks on the inside of the lens. This problem appeared when stuck in traffic after about 1 hour.next, the dashboard seems to have actually melted and become extremely sticky and has also started to crack. Finally, whenever it rains, water leaks into the cabin on the passenger side. I looked at what i could and the sunroof drain hose appearsto be intact as far down as i could track it. The last two issues are a major problem especially since we live in florida.

I purchased a new infiniti g37x sedan in the beginning of july 2011. Each time i refill the car at gas station, the pump just stops filling after only a couple of seconds. Each refill was done by bypass the pressure sensor built in the pump and by guessing how many gallon can be filled in the tank, blindly, even though it doesn't like a life threat issue, if the fuel did overflow, it would result in a gas station in fire.

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37 sedan. The contact stated that when attempting to accelerate at approximately 20 mh, the vehicle would exhibit a one second delay before responding.the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the nature of the problem could not be corrected due to it being a normal characteristic of how the vehicle was designed to operate. The current mileage was 3,400 and the failure mileage was 500.

I purchased a new 2011 infiniti g37x from salerno duane rt 10 denville nj. About 1 month into ownership of the car i had the car parked in my driveway running while i walked to the end of the driveway to pick up garbage cans. I heard a crash , i found the car crashed into my garage doing damage to the car , my garage wall and my son's bike. The car was still in park when i found it . I feel there is a something wrong with the car my driveway is flat and i want to know why this happened. I want the car repaired or replaced.

Ect: automatic transmission control logic / adaptive shift pattern:the vehicle does not produce consistent and reliable response to throttle command when accelerating into and around traffic. On several instances, when pulling out of a driveway into oncoming arterial traffic, there has been no response to throttle input. A delay of 2 ~ 4 seconds has occurred and creates an extremely hazardous situation. This fault has also occurred at freeway speeds when attempting to pass from speeds between 40 & 75 mph!this behavior was not occur initially, until the car had about 3,000 miles. I have contacted infiniti usa, and kept an appointment with a regional customer service rep. Along with a dealer service manager in tacoma, wa last december.the outcome of this dialog was that the vehicle did not exhibit the "fault" on that test drive, the manufacturer is aware of "some customer concerns regarding the 7-speed at behavior", and that there is no service bulletin as-yet to resolve such a fault.the regional rep. Did suggest that (un-officially), there is an effort seeking to release a service bulletin update in the form of a pcm / tcm flash of rom data (mapping) to resolve the ongoing complaints of un-reliable transmission & power train response behaviors. There have already been 2 such service bulletins to resolve other minor annoyance behaviors regarding shift quality, but not for this gross lack of command / control.i have not heard back from infiniti usa / 3 months. I believe this is a serious safety hazard and would like the us-dot / nhtsa to pursue this issue with nissan motors corp. / infiniti usa to mandate an effective resolution.

I was driving down the freeway and because of traffic, i had to come to stop.i push in the clutch to try and take the car out of gear and the clutch pedal is soft and goes to the floor.this results in a longer stopping distance and i almost hit the car in front of me.since i couldn't take the car out of gear, the car dies as i come to a stop.the traffic begins to move again and i attempt to start the car.the car lurches from the starter and the car still in gear.the car does not start, but i am able to get the car out of gear and make it a halfway onto the left shoulder.from here i am able to start the engine but still can't get the car in gear as cars start moving quickly past.pumping the clutch pedal does nothing to build pressure, but after revving the engine slightly, it seems to build a bit of pressure and i am then able to get the car in gear and very unsafely (max is only 20mph in first gear) make it to the right lane to exit the freeway.i crawl under the car and find leaking clutch fluid that appears to be coming from inside the bell housing.the car only has 50k miles and is only 6 years old.i put myself and my family at risk that day and feel like the failure in the clutch hydraulic system is flawed and is a huge safely concern.

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37 convertible. The contact stated while driving 20 mph attempting to avoid a squirrel, the driver slammed on the brakes and the seat belt failed to retract. The contact attempted to duplicate the failure by slamming on the brakes after accelerating and the seat belt did not catch at any point. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and was informed that the seat belts were operating as designed and that she should not be worried since the air bag was what would save her in the event of a crash. The contact was not satisfied with that answer. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance. The failure and current mileage was 25,000.updated 01/29/13*ljupdated 01/30/13

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37. On two separate occasions, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerated. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls associated with the viin. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 71,000.

Driver lost complete control today in a parking lot. The brakes steering and engine shut down preventing any control by the driver, the car stopped rolled and stopped on its own.luckily was in a parking lot and was involved in any accident.

Steering wheel locked and could not unlock with key nor could dealer repair shop.a dealer repair person said it was not unusual.dealer will have to break the lock and reinstall at a cost of $1,500+.the car only has 55,000+miles, and there are a number of complaints issued over the past few years to nhtsa.one person cited that the manufacture of the "part" told nissan to "recall" and replace the part.inifinity is a part of nissan, but i have yet to find a "recall" issued for that reason by nissan nor its subsiuary - infiniti.

This is a hardtop convertible car whose roof folds into the trunk space when the top is down.unlike a previous hardtop convertible i owned (volkswagen eos), the roof on the infiniti goes down even when there is an obstruction in the trunk space (such as a book).[the roof of the eos would not go down until the obstruction was removed].this has happened twice with the infiniti, causing thousands of dollars of damage to my car.my concern is that if a child were to climb into the trunk (god forbid) and the top were to be engaged, there would be nothing to stop the roof from crushing the child.this seems like a serious safety shortcoming.i called infiniti motors and expressed my concern; they created a file and basically said there was nothing they could do.

The infinity dashboard melts causing the release of dangerous fumes, causing the dash to also crack. My car was in a garage and parked for several hours when the cracked dash occurred, but must have melted when driving it during the day.

After less than 3700 miles the convertible to has been dented by the retracting mechanism. The dealer indicates it is due to stopping the retraction and lifting of the top by the hydraulic system.it is not covered under warranty.the purpose of the hydraulic lift and retract system is just that, to lift and retract! how can normal operation create damage to the vehicle?

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the dashboard became sticky without warning. The vehicle was taken to lokey nissan (27758 u.s. Hwy 19 north, clearwater, fl 33761, (727-264-0805), but the failure could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37 convertible. While attempted to close the hard top, the top became stuck. The vehicle was taken to napleton infiniti of tallahassee (located at 3355 capital cir ne, tallahassee, fl 32308, (850) 297-1488) where it was diagnosed that the shelf fractured and the hard top needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the hard top was previously repaired three times by the previous owner. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vehicle was sold as is. The contact was provided case number: 28153425. The failure mileage was 85,873.

Air bag passenger sensor defective, very common occurrence with nissan/infiniti vehicles.sensor fails randomly

Cracks all along the dashboard at seams/connection point to air vents and passenger airbag component.concerned that these cracks may compromise airbag safety

Clutch master and slave cylinder along with the clutch itself failed.clutch was fully depressed on the floor of the vehicle.

Dashboard material appears as if it is melting, oozing out very sticky unknown substance (toxic?) that creates very shiny surface.for a car of its age, still has that new smell as if from out gassing.the shiny surface reflects light to the windshield obscuring a clear view through it, blocking ability to see objects, especially under certain conditions of light source and background.there have been similar complaints by many.there is settled class action suit for nissan's altima model, applicable only in florida. But the problem is not unique to this model or location.it is hot and humid also here in the dallas area.appears not just result of sensitivity to uv, but heat and humidity. This vehicle spends most all its time in a garage environment (no hvac) with few miles.others have also made this point.the stage it is in now is that it reabsorbs the sticky material as temperature drops below about 88deg f.therefore i currently do not have picture.hope i will have ability to add to this report later with a picture.i realize degradation will continue at elevated temperatures, so currently i am trying to keep garage cooler by ventilating to avoid condition from returning.dealership avoids complaint by saying will return call, but never does.

My dash board is cracked in many places, sticky or tacky in some areas and completely disintegrated in others. All the a.c. Vents have cracks around them. I had a 2010 infinity g37 previously and experienced the same problem with the dash. I believe it's an inherent problem with nissan/infinity. They've had problems also with the altima and did issue a recall in the state of florida.my wife has a 1996 toyota 4runner and her dash is in much better condition and it's 15 years older than my infinity.please investigate the need for a recall.thank you.

The dash in my car is crackingall over and falling apart. If you look it up online it's very common and should be a recall with as many people having the same problem. What if the airbags deployed and pieces of the dash flew everywhere?

The air bag light is blinking. Also the convertible hard top does not open.

My infiniti g37 yr 2011 had an experience with unintended acceleration in the parking lot, when i was driving about 5 mph and about to stop my car.

The contact owned a 2011 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The contact drove at a low speed in a shopping center parking lot. The vehicle came to a stop when it crashed into a store wall. The contact sustained injuries to the back, nose, ribs, and neck, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The manufacturer and the dealer were not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000....updated 08/02/17 updated 10/20/2017

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37 coupe. The contact stated that at 2 mph, he was attempting to park the vehicle in a residential garage when the vehicle abnormally accelerated and crashed. The front bumper was slightly damaged but the contact was not injured.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who contacted the manufacturer and a representative was sent to inspect the vehicle. There were no failures found within the vehicle. The contact stated that he had experienced the failure twice prior to the crash. The dealer also inspected the vehicle but could find no failures.the failure mileage was 750.

The contact owns a 2011 infiniti g37sx coupe. While driving approximately 20 mph, the contact approached a stop signal, engaged the brake pedal and the vehicle surged forward with an increase in the rpms. The identical failure occurred five times. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on six occasions regarding the unintended acceleration. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure or detect a trouble code during the diagnostic test; however, the electronic module was reprogrammed. The failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

While pulling into a parking place in a shopping center, with my right foot on the brake and the car stopped, the motor raced and the back tires spun at high speed, i turned the car off and had it towed to the dealer where it is now.this is the second time this has happened, i drove the car after the first event because i was not sure what happened.i believe this is very dangerous.i find online this has happened to other infinity owners.

The contact owns a 2011 infinity g37 x . The contact stated that while driving 40 mph and without warning, the vehicle started to hesitate when the contact depressed the accelerator. 2011 infiniti g37x side mirrors become very distorted in cold weather. The dealer and infiniti attempted to fix the problem 3 times, with no success. After the 3rd time, both the dealer and infiniti's corporate office have stated this problem appears to exist on all infiniti's in this model year, and there is nothing they can do about it.the distortion causes objects in side mirror to become wavy, hinders depth perception, and causes confusion.
