Pass air bag light came on as it is malfunctioning.it will not go off.took it to dealer in greenville sc they said that the sensor in the seat is likely the problem but did not know for sure.cost would be between $1500 and $3000 to replace.i called infinity service nationwide they said there is no recall.i see on this reporting website that this is happening to others and that it also was an issue with the 2008 g35 and that for the 2008 it is a recall issue.this should be a recall for the 2009 g37 also.

The passenger airbag light is blinking due to a faulty sensor contained in the passenger seat. If this light does not turn off, no airbags will deploy in the event of an accident, which is a huge safety issue. Infiniti charges more than $7000 to replace the sensor and the seat to fix this out of warranty. Infiniti refuses to do a recall for this issue which has been found to be very common in nissan and infiniti vehicles.

Air bag light flashes seems to be common problem dealer wanted close to 4k to replaceseat sensor for driver/passenger should be a complete recall on this thata mors then car is worth

Just like the 2008, my 2009 g7 coupe passenger side airbag sensor is defective and no longer works. I called infiniti but was told that my 2009 did not qualify. They want over $4000 to replace the bottom cushion (without labor). $4000!!!!2008 infiniti g37 air bags recall 08v521000. Occupant classification system (ocs) control units. A varistor in the ocs control unit located in the passenger seat cushion may have been manufactured out of specification. Under certain conditions, this could cause an interruption of signal between the ocs and the air bag control unit (acu).

Airbag light continuously blinks and cant be reset.

The passenger side airbag sensor is faulty.it says that the airbag is off even when someone is occupying the passenger seat.infiniti quoted $7,000.00 to repair the sensor.the entire seat needs to be replaced.this is obviously a manufacturers defect.

Airbag warning light is blinking. Dealer said ocs (seat) sensors are malfunctioning. It cost $6200 to repair. Contact infiniti consumer affairs for help, but they refuse to assit.i believe 2009 g37 should be on the recall list. There is no reason the ocs sensor should fail.

My air bag light has been flashing the last few months i took it to a shop to see if the could scan it to see what the problem was. Well it happens to be the occupancy seat sensor, and infiniti doess not sell just that part, they want you to buy the whole lower part of the seat, which comes to little over 5 thousand dollars??!! seriously, now that this issue is on the table anyone with the same issue get into a serious wreck and the airbags do not deploy as they should that could cause serious injury or even death. Please get this recalled.

The airbag light started blinking, i got it checked and i was told the infant seat sensor was bad and all the seat has to be changed $6000. I checked a couple of online forums and it seems like in the past 2 years people with the same car model have been complaining about the same problem. Basically the passenger seat sensor is not working so it shuts off the airbag system for the passenger.

The airbag of the front row passenger seat turns off even there is an adult passenger sitting on it. I've searched online and did some diagnostics, and based on the flashing pattern on the console, it seems the problem is with the srs (safety restrain system) ocs (occupant classification system), as such even an adult is sitting there, in an accident the airbay may not be deployed.this is a very serious threat to the safety of a passenger. Note my car has never been involved in any accident or collision. More google search led me to this link:https://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/27/automobiles/nissan-recalls-990000-cars-and-trucks-for-air-bag-malfunction.html?hpw&rref=automobiles&_r=1this is exactly the same problem with my car. While nissan recalled those car, i think the regulatory should enforce nissan to expand the recall to include my car (infiniti g37, 2009) and others.there are lots of similar complaints online.

Passenger occupancy sensor is knows to fail on these cars, and the airbag will not deploy because the computer doesnt know if anyone is sitting in the seat.the repair costs 60-80% of vehicle's value, and not feasible for any sane individual to pay for this faulty sensor. Nissan/ infiniti fail to take responsibility for this faulty sensor and will not replace under safety recall.this is unacceptable.

Passenger occupant airbag/seat sensor faulty.upon doing research find infiniti is charging over $6000.00 for replacement.this directly affects passenger safety as airbag will not deploy with a bad sensor.consumers cannot afford this cost

Airbag warning light blinking.per dealer this is caused by a faulty occupant sensor causing the airbag to not deploy.dealer states part is 4400.00 and may not be available plus the cost to install could be near 2000 total around 6400.00.i would think that their airbag sensor would last longer than 9 years and the burden of such a high cost seems like price gouging not to mention they are not sure if part is readily available.very dangerous situation for someone who paid good money for a vehicle that can not be safely driven.

The front seat occupancy-classification sensor (ocs) is not working.this has been ongoing for over a year.nissan/infiniti has recalled millions of cars in 2013-1015 and had a voluntary inspection in 2008 and 2009 for this issue.however, my car is not included in the official recall.upon online research, there are many others with my same make/model/year having the same issue and we are unable to get this resolved.i have contacted infiniti customer support and they have offered up to $2000 for me to get this fixed.however, the total repair for this is $6900, so i am still paying $5,000 for a repair on a 2009 vehicle with a known issue.due to a design flaw in the cars, you cannot replace or repair the sensor, but you must replace the entire front passenger seat.the cost of this repair is over 50% of the total value of the car.i have been unable to use my car with occupants in the front seat for over a year for fear of a tragic issue if we had an airbag deployment.it is obvious from inifiniti's willingness to contribute $2000 that they know there is an issue with the car, but since it is not part of a recall, they claim that is the max they are able to provide.a father should not have to make the decision on whether his children are worth the $5000 repair when the issue is a known problem that has been pervasive throughout nissan/infiniti for years and even investigated by the nhtsa already.i'm fearful that since my vehicle type is not as common that there were not enough complaints of that model to classify it as a recall.but, it uses the exact same parts as the other nissan's and infiniti's, so i do not understand how this is not covered.

Need to replace either occupant classification system control unit which is part of the lower seat assembly. Cost approx. 4000 to 5000 thousand dollars or replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit which is under center console. Cost approx. 1700 dollars. Cannot tell me which one to replace. Car has 34000 miles on it. Internet tells me that this a common problem with this vehicle.

The airbag sensor located in base of passenger seat is faulty rendering the airbag not functional.the sensor is not available for replacement and the bottom seat unit must be replaced at the cost of $7,000.after researching the issue, it appears to be widespread to the model and year.the airbag light blinks on the dashboard indicating an issue.the issue was confirmed at he infiniti dealer and also an independent mechanic.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. While driving 65 mph, the passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated. The owner's manual stated that in the event of a crash, the air bag may not deploy. Infiniti of nashua (located at 11 marmon dr, nashua, nh 03060, (603) 891-1400) was contacted by phone and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle should be taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, but he declined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger side air bag sensor failed. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer who confirmed the diagnosis and stated that if one air bag failed, they all would fail. The passenger air bag sensor and seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,017.

Air bag problem indicator light comes on while driving. Dealership diagnosed to be faulty air bag and would need to replace that to begin with.vehicle maintained regularly and no indications as to why air bag would need to be replaced.other infiniti g37 car owners are also complaining about having to replace/fix faulty air bags, so looks like a systemic problem

Takata recallindicator light on dashboard for airbags is flashing constantly for past 2 months. Ironic that no recall for this particular model on a 2009 infiniti g37 has not been included, although other models are being recalled

Airbag light came on & blinking for about a month. 2009 infiniti g37. Took car for repair & was advised over 5k to repair sensor under passenger seat. Car has only 35,000 miles & hadn't even been driven all summer and no one ever sits in passenger seat!this is definitely a defect that warrants a recall because there are many, many other complaints about this same problem all over internet. Infiniti needs to take responsibility for this defect.

Passenger air bag indicator shows passenger air bag to be off and light flashing on the dash. Reset once and then came back. Car only has 59,000 miles.

Takata recallairbag light blinking on the dash. Went to have it checked out and was told it wasfaulty passenger airbag module. Was not involved in any accident. I can see some airbag recall for other models and seems like mine is not included. Dealer refuse to do anything about it

Airbag passenger seat sensor is faulty. Airbag system remains off even with no one in the seat. There are hundreds of people on forums reporting the same problem. Dealer suggested replacing the entire seat for $10,000. This is a safety issue that needs to be recalled.

Air bag dashboard light began flashing and would not turn off, regardless of whether anyone was in the passenger seat.fault code b1018 shown when car taken to shop.no way to repair other than to replace the entire sensor and passenger seat cushion, which is quoted at $5000-$6000 from the manufacturer for parts.there is no reason that a defective passenger-side seat sensor should disable all the airbags in the vehicle.this strongly deserves a recall, as it seems to have suddenly been happening to large numbers of 2009 g37s this year.this defect puts the driver at significant risk even though his/her own airbag and all other airbag sensors should still function normally.

The airbag control module stopped functioning and triggered a fault message which the auto dealership diagnosed.no incident has occurred other than my airbags being nonfunctional.is this part of a larger airbag problem, or an isolated problem?

Airbag light is blinking so took to dealership charged $149.00 and said they cleared codes...service man said that something about passenger seat needed to be replaced for around $7000.00...light has come back on😬

Air bag light recently came on. I took to the dealer and after paying a diagnostic fee of $170 they said "the seat cushion needs to be replaced, occupant sensor is part of it and it would cost about $7,000+. With so many similar complaints, this should be a recall.

I have a 2009 infiniti g37 with 89000 miles, just recently the air bag light started flashing for no apparent reason.i took it to the infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost over $6k to fix. My research suggests this is a known safety issue and a common problem with infinitis that should be recalled and corrected by nissan corp.

I have a 2009 infiniti g37x with 36000 miles, bought new in july 2009. Just recently the air bag light started flashing. I took it to the infiniti dealer and was told it was the passenger air bag sensor in the front passenger seat that was bad, and would cost $6000.00 to fix. I see this seems to be a problem with many others, but don't see a recall yet?

The passenger side srs warning light is on and indicates the airbag is disabled. There is also extensive cracking of the dash that could possibly alter airbag deployment. This seems to be an extremely frequent occurrence with these cars. The repair costs are in the multiple thousands of dollars, and this is obviously a significant safety hazard. Some models have had recalls for these issues, but apparently infinity has not included the 2009 model. Please investigate the issue further. There are numerous complaints and websites filled with complaints on the internet directed at this specific complaint.

Front passenger seat airbag weight sensor failure.airbag will not deploy due to sensor failure.replacement part is an entire seat and worth approximately the value of the car.67k miles on the vehicle, started while parked.this should be a recall.

I turned on my car in my driveway one day and the airbag light was on. It turns out that the passenger seat sensor has gone bad in my car. The car has been taken care of and has 50,000 miles. This seems to be a very common and expensive issue and should be a recall. Not to mention that if you're in an accident and have a passenger sitting in your car, their airbags will not deploy resulting in serious injury.

The airbag light started blinking.i took it into the dealership and they said there was an issue with the passenger seat occupancy sensor; they need to replace the entire passenger seat.they said the airbags will not deploy at this time and total cost of repairs will be approx $8000. I was told this was "just something that happens" but when i searched online hundreds of people have the same complaint!this isn't like replacing brakes that have worn down; i've never used the airbags.and unless i pay $8k for a known malfunction, they won't deploy in an accident and the vehicle has lost all resale/trade-in value.

The passenger airbag sensor remains off even when an adult is sitting in the seat.infinite doesn't consider it a safety issue even though many of their g37 models have this issue so no recall. The only fix is to replace the seat for$6,000 or more on a car worth $8,000 now.

Airbag sensor faulty in passenger seat. Known issue among infiniti owners.infiniti dealers stating that seat must be replaced, which costs upwards of $5000.car only has 32k miles on it

The material the dash board is made of melts at normal temperaturescompromising the integrity of the dash board and visibility (it's reflective).

The passenger seat occupant sensor is not working

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. While attempting to drive the vehicle, the front passenger air bag warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to infiniti of memphis in bartlett, tn where it was diagnosed that the air bag seat sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.

Nissan/infiniti should recall the 2009 g37 airbags along with the others they have recalled.there is an issue with cracking melting dashes on many of the 2008/2009 dashes that may affect the ability of the airbag to deploy.my dash is cracking and melting (this also affects visibility) and infiniti says this is the responsibility of the individual.they know this is an issue as they extended the warranty and replaced the dashes of the infiniti fx models.thank goodness i haven't had a wreck where my airbag has had to deploy, but why wait until it's too late.the 2009 infiniti needs to be included in the recall not only for the airbag, but the dash needs to be included to as the visibility is an issue with the glare from the melting dashes.

My 2009 infiniti g37 convertible has developed extensive cracks of the dash covering the frontal air bags. My safety concern is that the dash part would not respond as intended by designers during an airbag deployment, and cause injury to the vehicle occupants in spite of the expected airbag safety function. For instance, injury could be caused by dash splinters, detaching easily in correspondence of existing cracks, being thrown at large velocity towards vehicle occupants in the event of airbag deployment. One can readily imagine how dangerous these splinters would become, like darts delivered at ultrasonic speeds they could kill or permanently injure people. Infiniti already has a 10 year unlimited mile warranty for the seat belts, another safety-related function of a vehicle design. They should extend such a warranty to airbags, as well as associated equipment that may operate tightly, or be altered by design, in conjunction with an airbag deployment. G37 dash cracks are a well known design defect of g37 models, a simple online search will show that. The least infiniti should do is to make sure that such a cosmetic and functional defect would not also constitute a dangerous safety hazard.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37 coupe.while driving 35 mph he hit a pot hole; in which the air bags deployed.after deployment, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument control panel. He contacted the dealer, and he was advised to contact his insurance company. A representative from the manufacturers corporate office stated that they would send an inspector to diagnose the vehicle. It cost between $ 6000.00 to $14000.00 to repair the vehicle.he filed case #6673885 with infiniti . The failure mileage was 5800. Thecurrent mileage was 5850. Updated 01/05/10the consumer stated there was no damage to the vehicle, yet the air bags deployed which caused multiple burns to his arms. Updated 01/06/10.

Airbag warning light are blinking. Dealer says seat sensors have malfunctioned and airbags won't deploy correctly in a wreck. They want over 6500 dollars to repair. There is a nissan recall on these parts in other models and the forums are full of g37 owners with the same problem butsine this model is not under recall, we have to pay to repair. This model needs to be added to the recall list. 71k miles, 100 % garage kept. No reason this should malfunction.

Airbag sensor light for front passenger randomly does not register adults occupying seat.we have not recognized any pattern/seating positions that will duplicate the problem.

While driving with a passenger, the passenger airbag sensor indicated that the airbag was off.i reported it to infiniti, and they could not duplicate the problem.this has happened on at least a half a dozen or more occasions.it occurs at all speeds.when infiniti checked into the issue they asked me how much the passenger weighed.the passenger has been myself and my boyfriend on various occasions.we each weigh about 170 pounds - no excuse for the airbag being off.now that there is a recall, i am wondering why my infiniti g35 is not included in this recall.it obviously has the same issue.should we have an accident, and this issue is occurring, we fear that we will not have the safety that i intended to have when i purchased the vehicle.

The airbag light flashes red on the dash panel indicating the passenger airbag is not on. It also shows on the panel under the air conditioner controls that the passenger air bag is off. This is a safety issue and it is due to a faulty safety restraint system sensor the in the passenger bottom seat. Infiniti has had recalls and issues with this srs system in the passenger seat while they did not recall the 20109 infiniti g37. My g37 has approximately 50,500 miles and they want over $6,700. 00 to replace the whole driver's seat. This is a defective product and someone needs to be held accountable. To turn off the blinking light requires the airbag system to be disabled.this presents a serious safety issue since i am now driving a vehicle without any airbag protection.

Air bag light recently came on. I took to the dealer and after paying a diagnostic fee of $158 they said "the seat cushion needs to be replaced, occupant sensor is part of it and it would cost about $5,000+. With so many similar complaints, this should be a recall.

The seatbelt light started flashing and wont turn off.

Airbag sensor was blinking on my dash after starting it in my driveway to drive to work. I took it in to an infinity dealership and only to find out it was a seat sensor to be replace with only 40k miles on the vehicle. The part alone cost $6340.00 which isn't worth fixing. I wasn't told of any other option and seems to have happened a lot with other owners and no recall of any sort is to be issued.

My complaint is in regards to the unavailability of an airbag replacement part.i ordered a new passenger seat airbag sensor for our infinity g37 on may 23.the part has been on backorder since then, with the latest expected ship date(not arrival or repair date) being august 31, which is over three months!the dealership says that if one part of the airbag system has a fault, then the whole airbag system is disabled.so, i am driving a car with no airbags because the vehicle manufacturer doesn't have the part currently available, with no other solution given.this is after waiting for a month to get the inflated replacement cost lowered. For a part that compromises the safety of myself and any passengers, i find this delay unexceptable.the dealership can't do anything about it, so i filed a complaint with infinity consumer affairs.all they could do was confirm the expected ship date, and document my complaint.

The airbag light comes on indicating that the passenger airbag is off. This occurs anytime a passenger sits in the front seat, regardless of weight or height.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37 convertible. While a passenger was occupying the front passenger seat, the air bag warning sensor turnedoff. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer (gastonia nissan located at 2275 e franklin blvd gastonia, north carolina, 28054) where it was diagnosed that the orc sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was referred to an infiniti dealer. The contact reached out to infiniti of charlotte who stated that they would call back. The dealer called back and left the contact a voicemail stating that the failure was not included in the recall and the contact would have to pay for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there were reports of the failure. The contact was provided with case number: 26607927. The failure mileage was approximately 80,298.

The airbag warning light is flashing on my - i took it to the dealer and ask them to investigate or if there was a recall i'm concerned that the airbag is in default they claimed there was no recall and that it would cost me lot of money for them to fix it .its still flashing and that was about a yr ago dealer should have record kerney mesa inf san diego

Passenger air bag occupant sensor is no longer working.air bag warning light is always flashing.failure started during normal highway driving.replacement of sensor is estimated at over $7,000.car has low mileage and runs great, but with this safety issue, it is a risk to drive and is worthless to sell as the price to repair is as much as the value of the car.noticed this issue is a common problem with the model through the years; however, no recalls have been made.action is needed.

Air bag light flashing. I reset and it came back. This issue has been reported by many people. This is safety hazard and need to be fixed by nissan

Passenger airbag sensor blinks continuously. Brought to dealership and was told entire seat must be replaced. Price for seat is more than what the car is worth. So passenger will not be protected in case of accident.

Takata recall same problem as other have stated airbag light, due to passenger seat sensors. Also melting dashboard, that causes glare to visibility and a safety hazard if the airbags did work. Unfortunately, the airbags have been disabled due to the sensor. Both the dashboard and airbag sensors have been recalled in other nissan and infiniti models but not this model. Pretty much all the same parts for the the dash and airbags but this model has been excluded.

Takata, failure of occupant sensor unit. Infiniti is refusing to do anything about. Wants to charge me $6000for a new seat. Warning light went out a few weeks after visit to dealer. Came back on may, 2018. Went to different dealer, same story.

Red air bag light began flashing and amber air bag "on/off" light randomly illuminates or doesn't with no passenger present in the passenger seat. Do not know if it is safe for passenger of infant seat to ride in that seat. Very expensive dealer repair. Should be a safety recall issue.

Airbag light flashing. Passenger airbag off light illuminated.diagnosis code b1018 occupant sens. Dealer reset the airbag light however the next day it was flashing again.

Takata recall: flashing airbag signal on the dash after minor collision while standing in traffic. Collision center states it's not due to the collision as the front of the car air bag sensors are functional and not damaged. They state the passenger seat sensor for the airbag has malfunctioned.sounds like this has happened to several other g37's. Hopefully is enough people voice their complaints then a recall will be initiated. I can't bear the thought of a loved one getting hurt because the sensor is not working and people can't afford to fix it.

Upon starting the 2009 g37 with just over 73k miles on it, the airbag light began flashing.the following week, on december 28, 2020, i took the car to sewell infiniti of ft. Worth to have the problem diagnosed. The fault code "b1018 occupant sensor unit fail" was found. The only remedy is to replace the passenger seat lower cushion assembly for $6575.89.the upshot is the car is unsafe to drive with a person in the passenger seat because the airbags will not deploy.

The flashing airbag light on the dash is a constant event. This airbag light flashes indicating that the passenger airbag is off. This occurs all the time, whether there is a passenger in the front seat or not, and regardless of any passenger weight or height.the onboard diagnostics, based on the flashing pattern on the console, indicate a problem with the ocs (occupant classification system).because of this issue, the passenger airbag will not deploy, creating a significant passenger safety hazard. The light flashes all of the time the vehicles has the power on, stopped or moving.nissan has issued a recall for over a million vehicles globally for similar issues. However, my vehicle isn't included in this recall, even though there have been multiple recalls on older model g35/g37 and newer vehicles with the exact same issue. Therefore, my 2009 infiniti g37 should be included in this recall as well. I'm very concerned about this, because this is a huge safety issue!

Airbag light flashing.car has 75k miles on it.took it to infiniti for repair.they say the passenger seat sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.they are saying it is not covered under warranty even though there are numerous reports of this issue.

B1018 dtc code for a failed occupancy sensor.many many reported faults and infiniti chooses to ignore the serious problem.in most cases, the repair is $6,000+.sometimes 80-90% of true vehicle's market value.

Warning light came on for the passenger side air bag system that it was not operational. I researched it and believe it is a faulty sensor.this has happened to other g37s of the same model year. This is a safety issue as i believe the whole srs system is not working.

Car has 59,000 miles and airbag code reading b1018 of a faulty passenger occupant sensor. Dealer was $4,000 just for the part. The car is valued at roughly $9,000.

The airbag light on my 2009 infinity g37 convertible was flashing so i took the car to the infinity dealer on 8/22/19 and the problem was diagnosed as a bad occupant sensor (code 1018). Dealer said that the sensor was a part of the lower seat and that it had to be replaced at a grossly excessive cost of $6911.13. Dealer said that because the sensor was bad the entire srs system in my car is compromised and will not deploy in an accident. I've researched this problem and it appears that hundreds if not thousands of g37 owners are experiencing this same issue. I am respectfully requesting that nhtsa issue a safety recall for the manufacturer to fix this problem.

Takata recallmy car battery died to i had to charge it up and as soon as i got it too start the airbag sensor light came on for the front passenger seat. After multiple attempts to restart it, still failed and once someone sit on the seat it come right back on if not anyone on the seat as well.

The car has 48,300 miles on it. There is a constant flashing airbag warning light on the dashboard when the car is on, whether driving or just parked. It flashes whether someone is seating in the seat or not. The light indicates an issue with the airbag/sensor in the passenger seat.

This is a frequent event that i just noticed a few months ago. When someone isin the front passenger seat of the vehicle, the airbag light comes on indicating that the passenger airbag is off. This occurs anytime a passenger sits in the front seat, regardless of weight or height. Today i also noticed that nissan has issued a recall for 1,053,479 vehicles globally for similar issues. However, my vehicle isn't included in this recall however there have been multiple reports of older model g35/g37 vehicles with the exact same issue. I think that my 2009 infiniti g37 should be included in this recall as well. I'm very concerned about this, because this is a huge safety issue!

The contact owns a 2009 infinti g37. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the front passenger side air bag off warning indicator illuminated when an occupant was present. The malfunction also occurred when the front passenger seat was unoccupied. The failure occurred at any speed being driven. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the intermittent failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.updated 08-16-12the consumer stated that infiniti consumer affairs would not reimburse the cost of repairs. The air bag failure has been on going for several months.updated08/16/2012

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. The air bag off light illuminated intermittently and remained on which meant that even if an adult was sitting in the front passenger seat the air bag would not deploy. The light illuminated more frequently while driving longer distances. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and stated that there was nothing to repair. He contacted the manufacturer and has not received a response.the vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was approximately 4,800 and the failure mileage was approximately 4,000. Updated 12/07/09the consumer also stated the vehicle had been serviced 4 times for security system malfunction and twice for air bag problems. Updated 12/07/09.

2009 infiniti g37x coupe is experiencing dangerous surges in acceleration upon braking, the transmission is jerking and going into "fail safe mode" (meaning suddenly the car is stuck in the highest gear), the rear differential is clunking and jerking as if the car is going into awd mode at times it should not be, and quite frankly i am now becoming scared of the car.it has 3800 miles on it.i took it into the dealership on friday and was told there are a couple of known issues with the transmission but no fix.they also are calling hq on monday to talk about it. I do not want to leave my car to be driven around erratically as they try to "break" it as that will cause further damage to the transmission and engine as well as put more miles on the car. Infiniti service agreed that remapping the computer would most likely take away the specifications of the car which are what they market and i bought the car for (horsepower, acceleration, "same as a bmw".if they have to gut the power of the car to fix the problem, i feel this is false advertising and the car is not what i contracted to purchase.i am on the verge of watching my resale plunge before the car is even six months old and believe infiniti should have to replace the vehicle. This problem is happening repeatedly everytime i drive the car.see notes below:1.central computer clearly failing - had to be restored yesterday.2.reaf diff clunking in and out of awd loudly and with a jerk and at unexpected times3.surging rpms as much as 5000 upon driving4.surging rpms and acceleration upon braking (3000 rpm)5.hanging instead of downshifting6.very jerky downshifts7.tranny went into failsafe at least 3 times now (meaning no gear below 5th is available at any time).

After purchasing the vehicle used, i been experiencing issues with the vehicle. The service engine soon indicator has illuminated on the dashboard after two weeks of the purchase. I took the vehicle to valvoline for the oil change service, and the light was still illuminated. Notified my personal mechanic of the issue as well as the dealer. Took the vehicle to autozone and used their free diagnostic reader, which stated the o2 sensor for bank 2 sensor 1 as the issue. Purchased the part from the dealer, took it to the mechanic for service. After i paid for the service, the same day the service engine soon light illuminated again. The next day i took it back to autozone and the diagnostic read bank 1 sensor 1. Took it to multiple mechanics to only have the run around of paying them to look at but not fix the issue. Called the dealer i purchased it from, and they was supposed to set an appointment with their mechanic and did not. I had to reschedule the appointment on my own. Never took it because i went back to my mechanic and he supposedly fixed the sensor. Again, the same day of service the service engine soon light illuminated again, the car stalled very badly, and shut off on me. I was able to restart the engine, and drive it home. Not only am i making monthly payments on the vehicle, i'm paying for a vehicle that is a hazard on the road. I am putting money i don't have into a lemon, only having the vehicle for two months with a electrical and engine issue that i can not resolve on my own.

My 2009 infiniti g37x lost power without warning on 3 separate occasions. The first two times the problem occurred in jan 2013 (car was still under 60k miles warranty). I was driving on the highway on a cold night and my car stalled at around 55/65 mph mark. The car was shaking when i tried to accelerate. When i pulled over to the emergency lane, my car had lost complete power. Then, i restarted the car and the engine acted and sounded normal. I warmed up the car for 5 minutes before i drove home. I went to infiniti to get the problem fixed and i reported the problem to infiniti of north america. Infiniti could not identify or re-create the problem.on dec 7, 2013, i noticed my car acted like it was losing power when i accelerated the car to 65 mph while i was on the highway on a cold rainy night. I tried to accelerate and the car felt very choppy and shaky as if it was choking on something. Since this problem had occurred two times before, i decided not to continue to increase acceleration to the car any further. I pulled over to the emergency lane, parked the car, and i video recorded the problem. There was no lighting indication of any problem on dashboard. While the car was parked and the engine was running, i tried to rev up the engine. The car was shaking intensively when it was rev up to 2,000 rpm. I also restart the car and i tried to rev up the engine again and the car did not shake.after restarting, the car engine acted and sounded normal. I was able to drive the car home safely.there is a safety issue with this model. I've reported this problem to infiniti, but they denied there is any problem. Infiniti needs to issue a recall on this model. I am scared to drive this car, but i need the car to get around. If anyone can help push forward this issue to the right level of attention, please contact me at [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have 38 pages of service regarding a starting problem. When the car is started with the ac on, it cranks but will not start. There have been 6 battery replacements, one 6 months after the car was purchased and 5 in the last 5 years. Within the last week and a half it has needed 4000 in repairs. A valve assembly, control and now an engine control module. The car was brought in dozens of times and the problem never fixed. Would be happy to provide all of the paperwork.

When i press the button to lock the doors on my remote the horn beeps like normal, but the driver door does not lock. The lockoperate manually with the key, so it look like its not the lock mechanism itself.

Airbag light is blinking so took to dealership charged $149.00 and said they cleared codes...service man said that something about passenger seat needed to be replaced for around $7000.00...light has come back on😬

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to operate even after the ignition key was removed. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was brought to the dealer where the fuse was removed to stop the engine. It was diagnosed that the electronic control module malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. The vin was not provided.updated 10/19/16*lj

2009 infiniti g37 has electrical wiring insulation made of soy-based polymer.soy based polymer is apparently biodegradable.the problem is that it is also attractive to rodents, who eat the wiring, creating electrical safety hazards.in addition to the safety hazards, it also creates an economic stressor on consumers and insurers who have to pay for repairs done to these automobiles, which infiniti claims is not covered under any existing warranty.

Apparently on 2009 infiniti g37s, there is a programming error/deficiency in the electronic engine control module (ecm) affecting the processing of the mass flow rate sensor that will cause the engine to unexpectedly (and without a dash warning indicator) to lose power.at occurrence of the failure, the car will decelerate from highway speed to less than 35 mph within a few seconds.following the failure, the engine rpm will not exceed 2,400 rpm and speeds above 35 mph are impossible (i found that 4th gear is the highest gear selectable).this failure can be dangerous in a number of traffic situations.i have learned from an infiniti service dept. That the failure will temporarily correct itself if the engine is turned off for a period of time, but that the failure could reoccur.the car's ecm was re-programmed by towbin infiniti (las vegas, nv) on august 30 and that supposedly fixes the failure.while at towbin, the service man said that infiniti knows of the problem, but is waiting to see how wide-spread the problem is.owners have not been told of this problem.towbin service said they have seen about 300 cases of the problem.a salt lake city dealer service dept. Had also heard of this problem.again, i feel this problem can be dangerous, because:if it were to occur in heavy traffic, it may bedifficult to get out of the way of others;if it were to occur when turning in front of oncoming traffic;after it occurs, there is no way to keep up with higher speed traffic - one is left going slow and hoping no one rear ends me;without more information, i have no way of knowing if the problem has really been fixed.

On a cold snowy evening while driving on the highway at about 60mph the car began to violently shake, when i took my foot off the gas pedal the car stopped shaking, when i tried to accelerate the car again began to shake violently.fortunately i was about 5 miles away from my destination and managed to drive about 25 on a highway. After i reached my destination i powered off the car and let it sit for about 5 minutes, then i powered it on again and tried to accelerate above 30mph which caused the car to shake again. I ended up getting the car towed to the dealership, when i got a call back from the dealership the next day, the mechanic said that the problem was due to a software issue with the car. During the cold weather the air intake was not taking in air correctly which was causing the engine to misfire. I was a bit skeptical about what happened but since then i have not had the issue occur again. Infiniti should make this information known to owners either through a recall or update the software during routine maintenance.

1.i was driving my 2009infiniti g37xson i-95 near philadelphia. I was using cruise control with speed set at near 65mph. I was listening to pandora internet radio on my htc evo 4g android phone using wimax (4g wireless). The htc evo was being charged using a cellet pmotq9c car charger for cell phones. 2.out of blue, all electrical and electronic system went black. All dashboard display(lcd),entertainmen/navigation system and ac and left/right turn signal and lighting all went out. Nothing electronic works including turn signal/emergency light.i was quite nervous, but didn't want to stop at middle of interstate freeway and drive straight home and prayed that power train stay working till i got home. Thank god, it did.as soon as i stopped the car by pressing the start/stop button after i drove into my garage, i waited a minute or two and tried to start my car by pressing the start/stop button while pressing the break pedal. The car would not start. I thought that my wireless card key had bad battery. So i spent 15min or so to find my 2nd wireless card key and strangely enough i was able to start the car. However, the "service engine soon" light on dashboard went on. I called the dealer service and wanted to bring the car. But dealer didn't have any loan car available till next tuesday. So i waited and drove carefully with my car and brought it to dealer on the following tuesday. Again strangely, just one day earlier, the "service engine" light disappeared.i trusted dealer had right equipment to diagnose. 3.dealer took a few days looked at it and could only told me some limited diagnostic info about loss of comm and could not pin point the root cause of problem. I expressed my safety concerns on atnight driving on i-95situation when this happens again. The dealer assured me that all tests were done andno problem was found and the car was safe to drive.4. Idon't feel comfortable and feel that maybe nhtsa can better investigate this.

I was driving my vehicle on a state highway with no breakdown lane, only a 'soft shoulder' going about 70 mph in the middle lane. There was a vehicle in front over me going about 65 mph and the furthest left lane was moving closer to my speed. When there was an opening, i signaled and began changing lanes when the vehicle began jerking and losing power. There was a car approaching fast in that left lane and also the vehicle that was behind me in the middle lane began closing in. I nearly caused a three car pile up trying get over to the soft shoulder. These vehicles are equipped with a vq37vhr motor which infiniti equipped with a paper gasket in the depths of the motor called a 'galley gasket'. Its cheap fragile design causes loss of power and for the vehicle to not exceed 2500 rpms which is very unsafe for highway driving as many times it is necessary to safely navigate or even exit the roadway. The paper gasket causes inevitable demise to the motor allowing oil to enter where it should not. This is all before the check engine light even illuminates. Once the light comes on, it will display a code 'p0011' and/or 'p0021' which calls for the variable valve timing solenoid to be addressed. I replaced both, changed the oil, and the car drove fine for a few days then the same thing repeated. After going to numerous shops and them either not wanting to take on the job or not knowing what else the issue may be, i went to the infiniti dealership and was told that i need a new motor. After extensive research, i've come across thousands of owners experiencing the same issue. The more handy ones with time have discovered this 'nissan' cork paper gasket causing the issue. Infiniti designer and manufactured these motors with poor quality gaskets then charge the customer upwards to $3000 to fix the problem they caused through their own negligence or over $5000 for a new motor.

Between 40-50 mph, on a busy rural highway, the car would occasionally (once in 3 months) go into limp mode. This problem is now occurring weekly! you cannot accelerate more 2,000 rpms when this happens. You can manually shift the transmission to a higher gear to get to a safe spot to pull over. However, it feels like the transmission might fall out of the car when shifting. Most of the time, when you cut the car off and restart it, it runs as normal. It's like the computer resets. As of late, i have to cut the car off and restart twice. This is beginning to happen more frequently, like once or twice a week. We have consulted with a dealer, and have tried several recommendations. We have new air filters and mas air sensors. This did not correct the problem. After further investigation, we found a dealership who admitted that they have seen or heard of this problem. The service advisor said that this could be a transmission issue. We have an appointment on 12-13-2019 with this dealership.

I was coming out from the freeway at the traffic light the car completely shutdown, and it will not start. First i called for aaa to tow it, once he came the driver checked the battery and he told me the battery was fine, then he told me the engine is gone. And then i called the dealer to check if this is a recall, or anything and i was told the power train was expired. I have no indication of any heating, or any engine lights, everything was working fine. I do the maintenance as recommended by infinity book. The this vehicle has low mileage 2009 year made and i don't drive much. I searched online and there are so many people suffer exactly like me.

Gallery gasket blown is common on early models because the gasket is made out of paper.causing the car to go on limp mode.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning while driving. The failure was experienced several times. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. A diagnostic test was performed, which located the failure at the engine. The dealer stated that the engine failed due to poor maintenance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture denied assistance with the repair. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileages were 27,000.

*the nissan and infiniti oil gallery gasket problem*it's ridiculous how nissan and infiniti have not come forward with a statement about this notorious problem. It's an utter shame how a company does not recognize their failures in their cars. Some nissan and infiniti vehicles are equipped with a paper material gallery gasket that tends to fail at any given moment it does not matter the mileage nor the age of the vehicle it's bound to happen regardless. Nissan/infiniti silently changed the gallery gasket in some pre-2012 production cars to a more reinforced gallery gasket made out of metal part # of gasket: 13533-jk21b - small lower gasket, 13533-jk21a - large upper gasket. Vehicles affected 350z 370z g35 g37 fx35 fx45. Moreover, this problem is inevitable!! cars equipped with the faulty part can put many at risk of an accident of any sort. Not just that, but the burden of the costly labor that goes to replacing the part.it's time for nissan to pay their part and fix our cars!

Rear galley gasket failure, vehicle is out of warranty, but only has 56k miles on the engine.is daily driven and not used for any driving outside of the day to day routine. Contacted the dealership and while they see these gasket failures often they were unable to do any type of work on the vehicle due to it being outside of the warranty.the fix will be to replace the gasket which will be a 4,000$ repair, on a car that is only 9 years old and has low miles.this failure occurred while my wife was driving and instantly threw the car into limp mode, because of the lowered oil pressure reading, which resulted in a car unable to continue highway speeds and without knowledge of what limp mode was and what was occurring this could be a very dangerous situation that appears to be a common failure in the vq37vhr engine.i was surprised this isn't already a recall issue.

When engine is started it occasionally revs to 4000-5000 rpm and remains there for about 5-7 seconds before slowing down to a normal idle speed.the occurrences are becoming more frequent.when acting normally, the engine starts and revs to about 2000 rpm and then slows to idle speed in about 1-2 seconds.the danger of the high revs for 5-7 seconds is that if the driver is not fully aware of the engine's speed, he could shift the car into gear and the car would accelerate, perhaps hitting nearby cars, house, out the garage door, etc.i had such an incident and was barely able to hold the car in place with full force on the brakes.the dealer has stated that he is unaware of any service bulletins concerning this issue, but if i would bring it in, they would check the settings on the engine control.in my opinion, this is a very serious situation akin to the toyota unexpected acceleration problem and infinti needs to develop first an acknowledgment of the problem and then a solution.

My 2009 infiniti g37, third owner, has always had its scheduled maintenances through infiniti. Took the car in because of a rattle sound coming from the undercarriage. Dealership diagnosed it as "internal engine damage." no indication from the vehicle that their is a problem with the engine. There has never been a check engine light detected or any other symptom - other than the "rattle" sound - that would discern an engine problem when driving the vehicle. Infiniti consumer affairs will not help me, and say that i have no recourse. Now, the car is at infiniti of west chester, pa and i need a brand new engine! the car has less than 60,000 miles.

I was driving on the highway and my car suddenly vibrate really heavy and then the car suddenly started to rapid decelerate no dash board warning light. The car would not accelerate and i have to quickly try to pull off the side of the road. The car never stall. I have shut the car off and restart it and it seems fine again and may not occur for awhile. I took it to the dealer as this is the third time it happen to me on the highway.

Without warning rpm's drop to about 2,000 and vehicle will not go over 30 mph and just stalls with no option to break. Turning the car off for 30 seconds seems to reset the issue, but this very dangerous because it happens randomly. There is a tsb on this, but it should be recalled! it has happened several times and it's very scary and could result in a fata crash on the highway.

My car was cutting off and over heating but it eventually locked up on me when i was driving on the highway

Car buck and stop accelerate. Then will not go in to low gears or six gear.

Infiniti needs to recall the timing chain galley gaskets. My 2009 g37xs sedan recently blew the galley gaskets and it seems as if this is a common problem and is a very expensive fix. Recall this issue please i always use 93 gas. Always use mobil 1 full synthetic oil, and always do all maintenance on the car on time. I'm shocked and aggravated that this issue happened and infiniti did not recall it.

Code p0524. Engine oil pressure, caused by my manufacturer installing bad gaskets.common problem on all 2009 g37 infiniti models.

Vehicle's engine stalled (shuttered, acceleration lost, felt like choking) at highway speeds, about 50-60 mph, creating a dangerous situation and i needed to pull over onto the shoulder immediately as the car decelerated to under 30 within seconds. The check engine light came on soon after. Searched "2009 infiniti g37 engine sputtering" with hundreds of similar results, somehow infiniti dealerships were never able to reproduce the defect. This car is extremely dangerous and infiniti needs to start placing human lives over their sales.

While stopping vehicle, braking became non-responsive and engine began racing. Vehicle was extremely difficult to stop completely. After taking foot off of brake pedal, vehicle lunged forward as if accelerator pedal was fully depressed.this has occurred on 12/9/12 , 12/10/12, 12/15/12.infiniti has not corrected problem.this rapid acceleration / non-responsive braking has caused two (2) near miss accidents.

My 2009 infiniti gx 37x lost power without warning. The mph went from 50 down to 30 in seconds, the rpms would not go above 1500. Acceleration failed. Power steering and braking still worked. I had to pull over and restart the engine. The first time this happened was july 2009 and the dealership said not to worry, that it was probably an isolated incident and to bring it in if it happened again. If something happens once, i can reason it away. But, twice? this is a major safety issue and infiniti needs to issue a recall asap.driving conditions have no factor and this problem strips the driver of any control of the vehicle. The dealership did a "reflash" or ecu update and said that a similar problem occured on a "m" model. I am not convinced this has solved the problem. I am terrified of driving this car.

I own a two-month old infiniti g37x.when braking at highway speed, the engine does not seem to slow down as fast as it should.i brought this to my infiniti dealer this week.they conducted tests on it and found that it "performs as designed."however, they acknowledged that the transmission does not slow down when the brake is applied - that the engine is designed to "click down" from gear to gear.but when braking hard at a highway speed, the car does not slow down immediately because of this design.i've been driving for 33 years and have never before felt like the car was not going to stop when it needed to.this car gives me that feeling.i've had to stop quickly a couple of times on the highway and i did not feel as though i was in control of the car.infiniti's tests seem to confirm this.however, they did not offer any sort of repair because, again, the car is reacting as designed.they did say that a software correction might occur in the future because corporate infiniti is aware of this problem.

I was on the highway traveling about 60-65 mph and a truck merged, i slowed then decided to pass as it was a larger type truck and slow to merge, when i stepped on the gas...nothing happened.the vehicle seemed to have gone into neutral like space and i had no gear and i was half in the passing lane.i have an automatic transmission.i took my foot off the gas and it finally appeared to catch, but i thought i was going to crash.i did have shift and lag issues and just got a tcm update 05/25/2019 which appears to have solved the other problems, but i am afraid to pass on the highway because i am not sure if this issue was the same as the lagging at lower speeds and rough downshifting.

2009 infiniti g37.consumer writes in regards to vehicle transfer case problems.the consumer stated for the second time in one year, a problem developed with the transfer case. The dealership indicated, they did not know how the problem developed, or why it occurred again. The consumer was informed the parts were not available in the us and wouldn't become available until mid october.

We picked up our brand new infiniti g37 sedan out of town (52 miles on it) and the next day, drove it home 300 highway miles.obviously, we were extremely fortunate the problem didn't begin on the trip.by the second day, the car started dying when we came to a stop.at first, the problem didn't happen every time we slowed down, and we discovered putting the car in neutral proved helpful.we hoped it was a fluke that would quickly abate.unfortunately, by the next day, the problem worsened, and the check engine light went on.we took it to the local dealer, and with infiniti, they determined the torque converter was locking, and the car needed a new transmission/drive train - apparently, they found a po744 error code.this is our 3rd infiniti, and we've never had a single mechanical problem with the others, and both dealerships (the one we purchased from and the local one handling the service) claimed they'd never seen anything like this on a new car.i'm afraid what might have happened had we needed to stop suddenly in traffic.to reinforce the magnitude of this problem, the warranty repair estimate (thus far) stands at $11,000 (retail would be $16k+).in light of how significant the problem, i'm scared to drive a vehicle which immediately required this type of repair.infiniti's consumer assistance department has turned the file over for review but will only look into whether the situation qualifies for replacement under applicable lemon laws. They won't consider owner loyalty or problem magnitude of the problem, and i remain very concerned about future safety.

There is a problem with my transmission in my infiniti 2009 g37 sedan journey. It accelerates on it's own. It happens about once or twice a week. I have taken it to the dealership, they said they did what they could. It got a little better, but the problem still persists.

2009 infiniti g37x coupe.1st gear is exceptionally slow and causes dangerous acceleration problems in certain situations.the transmission jerks when up or down shifting. When i took my car to infiniti for service i was told that infiniti hasn't released a software update or recall for this problem yet but that they've been receiving numerous complaints about the problem.

After driving the car for a while and then turning it off for 30 min-1hr, the transmission will surge 200-250 rpm the first time the car is driven again.the surge happens only the first time while shifting from 3rd gear to 4th gear.to date, this has not caused an accident.the engine has consistently performed like this since its purchase in february 2009.i first reported the issue to sewell infiniti, houston, tx on 9/25/09 and to west houston infiniti on 10/14/09.i have reported the issue another 6 times in addition to the two listed above.however, both dealerships claim that they cannot replicate the issue; therefore, they have not fixed the problem.on 12-22-10, infiniti issued itb10-075 to correct the problem.when i presented the itb to sewell infiniti on 3-26-11, they stated that they would review it.i was told later that the itb would have applied to my car except that one part was one letter off.i called infiniti customer support and was told that infiniti is not going to do anything further to correct the issue since the dealership cannot replicate the problem.

Pulling into parking stall (brakes applied / traveling 5-10 mph) the car lurched forward twice and stuck a parked full size truck. The car bounced backwards and lurched forward again and stuck the truck a second time and bounced backwards again.the ( off button) was able to be pushed at that time.the brake was fully applied the entire time.this has been the only occurrence.infinity has not been able to duplicate problem and has downloaded the data base.the formal report will take approx. 4 weeks to complete. No parts have been replaced. Infinities consumer's affair has told us to pickup the vehicle and drive the vehicle despite no explanation or written proof the vehicle is safe to drive.the problem is related to either braking, acceleration or both.

The manual transmission in my 2009 infiniti g37s started grinding gears nearly every time the transmission was placed in 6th gear.this resulted in longer than necessary gear changes at high speeds and prolonged time with only one hand on the steering wheel.the car was never driven excessively rough.this problem started at ~6000 miles on the odometer.at ~8500 miles, i took the car in for repair.infiniti replaced the transmission with a new transmission under the factory warranty at no cost to me.

When having my windshield replaced, the seat carriage became loose from the frame of the car. This has rendered the seat in a precarious and awkward position, especially if the seat were to break away while driving and an accident were to occur. There is a lot of information online regarding multiple infiniti cars with the seat carriage unhinging from the base of vehicle. This renders the seat in a static or loose position and unless repaired by infiniti, there may be severe consequences. Infiniti wants to charge $2800 for the parts and labor which is extortion! this company needs to be responsible for their faults.

The car has 48,300 miles on it. There is a constant flashing airbag warning light on the dashboard when the car is on, whether driving or just parked. It flashes whether someone is seating in the seat or not. The light indicates an issue with the airbag/sensor in the passenger seat.

Car has 59,000 miles and airbag code reading b1018 of a faulty passenger occupant sensor. Dealer was $4,000 just for the part. The car is valued at roughly $9,000.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. While the vehicle was parked, the voc warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the rear brake pads needed to be replaced and the rear rotors need to be resurfaced. After the vehicle was repaired, the contact heard a clicking noise while driving approximately 10 mph and depressing the brake pedal. The vehiclewas taken back to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician noticed excessive vibration when the brakes were applied and stated the rear rotors had to be resurfaced, and the rear brake pads had to be replaced a second time. The sway bar bushings were also repaired. The failure continued to occur after the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The mechanic stated the brake pads had to be replaced because they did not fit properly with the rear disks which caused excessive wear on the brake pads and rotors. The mechanic replaced the rear brake pads. The approximate failure mileage was 15,686. Updated 07/02/12 updated 07/10/12

Vehicle vibrates when braking.dealership found all four rotors out of round. Dealership also found rear rotors warped.dealership cut front rotors and resurfaced rear rotors.

Technical service bulletin itb09-037 from infiniti states overheating of the brakes can cause brake judder.they recommend installing a brake backing plate, resurfacing, or replacing the rotors.i took my car to my inifiniti dealer and the plate was installed.the front rotors were resurfaced, brake pads replaced, and i still had the brake judder. I took it back and they resurfaced the rear rotors and recommended balancing and rotating tires.i did this (at my own cost) and the brake judder is still present.the car had 15,000 miles when the problem occurred.i feel a mandatory replacement of the rotors and the pads at the same time is required.the warped rotors continue to cause vibration after resurfacing and my dealer will not replace them at cost.

Tmps light came on and when checking the tire pressure the tmps nut was split and fell off. At that time there was a leak at the valve and the tpms fell into the tire.this is a common problem with active recalls for multiple infiniti and nissan cars of the same year.nhtsa campaign number: 09v393000

Severe vehicle and steering wheel vibration when moderate to heavy braking at speeds over 40 mph. Moderate vibration in steering wheel during normal driving on semi-rough surfaces. After inspection, it was determined that the entire rack & pinion assembly had about one inch of play and required replacement. Manufacturer has released a tsb concerning this issue.

I was driving about 35 miles an hour and about to turn right at an intersection when my steering went out completely.the steering wheel was no longer connected to the wheels, it was just spinning around.i was able to slow down and drive over a curb and rest on the median, during rush hour, in the dark and call aaa. According to the dealership this is what happened:"on your vehicle the steering shaft that runs down from the steering wheel separated from the coupler.when this happened it damaged the spiral cable and the steering angle sensor.we have reattached the shaft to the coupler and reinstalled the safety nut that holds it into place, but the steering angle sensor and the spiral cable will need to be replaced".they suggested i call consumer reports and i have to pay for the repairs, they had never heard of this happening before and i have never had any wrecks in the car and all maintenance work is done at the same dealership. I am so afraid to think of what could have happened and i worried about driving my car in the future. This is a very dangerous situation. Total loss of steering control.

A few days after i bought a new car with electric steering wheel, i noticed a jerk on the steering wheel when i passed a speed bump and at times i feel like the steering wheel jumping on me at acceleration. A few weeks later i found the origin of the problem. The electric steering wheel does not lock in place securely. It will have to be push manually to secure it. If you drive away and forget to secure it manually that is when the jerk occur into the situation i described earlier. I brought it back to the dealer and take it in for repair under warranty, in the process taking out the whole steering wheel assembly and put it back together and told they cannot find any problem. They concluded that 'compared to other similar models they also have a slight play of the steering column. This is normal characteristic of this year and model vehicle". I got in touch with infinity consumer affairs but after a few days they came up with the same conclusion. I think it is the responsibility of the dealer to inform the consumer of this kind of " characteristic " before the consumer make a decision. Is there a defect or safety issue involve in this situation? thank you very much.

Dash board is melting. Very hot to touch.

7.8.14vehicle bought in to service dept to install navigation map update. Was told that navigation unit wasn't working. Infiniti ordered refurbished unit. 7.16.14 noticed gash in dashboard next to vent where they had to remove to be able to install new navigation unit. I have extended warranty for 2 more years.7.23.14 brought car in to show the gash in the dashboard next to the ac vent after the navigation unit was installed. [xxx] the service manager looked at the gash and also discovered the melting dashboard affect near the window. He said he would order new dashboard and call me when it arrived to install.8.12.14 called [xxx] 3 times as i did not hear back from him about the arrival of the new dashboard. Finally spoke with him and he said that he wanted to try and repair it before replacing it. That was unacceptable to me. I researched melting dashboard and discovered this is an issue with infiniti's and other vehicles. I placed a call to corporate infiniti and left message for [xxx] to discuss this issue and see what to do about getting a new dashboard as that is what the service manager notated on his form on 7.23.14.8.13.14 [xxx] case# [xxx][xxx] is specialist in my area - she will call me back - [xxx]8.14.14[xxx] is in touch with service manager at infinity. She will call me by the end of the business day next tuesday to let me know the outcome8.25.14infiniti said they will not replace dashboard. Not covered. I have photos showing the safety issue of the glare off of the dashboard. It makes seeing the road difficult and a clear safety hazard.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have a 2009 infiniti g37 with the dashboard all cracked. This was a problem as well in my 2006 infiniti m35. When my previous infiniti had the whole dashboard cracked it was a recall and i took it to infiniti and had it replaced. I thought the same would happen for this one since it's the same exact problem but i find there is no recall for this model. I believe it had to do something with the air bags causing the cracking on the entire dashboard. This should be fixed in all infiniti cars as this is their issue.

My car is ten years old, from ohio, should my frame be rusted out underneath to the point that my rear left tire component is about to separate from the frame? every small bump in the road makes a noise like a hammer hitting metal and it has worn out the left rear shock. My mechanic told me it was irreplaceable

My infiniti sustained front subframe damage from road debris on sept 27, 2020.upon inspection i saw the damage and filed a claim with allstate insurance (claim #060646535) on nov 11, 2020. During the claim allstate refused to pay for a new front suspension member (infinity part number 54401-jk00b) and demanded a used part, taken off a salvaged "junk yard" car be used. I inquired about the testing done to confirm structural integrity of the "recycled" part and found only a cursory visual inspection was done. Because allstate would not pay for a new part i could not get the car repaired at the dealer as the dealer only puts new parts on cars. So i took the car to caliber collision, 1203 ave k, plano, texas 75074. Caliber was able to "work the system" to get allstate to pay for a new part. My understanding is body shops deliberatly purchase used parts for a low quality supplier then reject the part and then allstate allows a new part to be purchased. Just a little "fooling" the insurance company. So compliant #1 is why allstate is allowed to put untested major structural parts from junk yard cars onto cars on us highways. This is similar to the state farm bonding vs. Spot welding repair done on car roofs which caused injury and a major lawsuit. My compaint #2 is that caliber re-used the single use "crush nuts" which secure the suspension to the unibody despite being shown that infinity lists these as 1 time use parts which must be replaced. I found this out was was told that if i purchased the nuts i would be reimbursed and if i installed them myself my warranty we remain in force. Now i cannot get caliber to reimburse me the $17.28 for the new crush nuts. How can body shops be allowed to not follow auto manufactures safety driven requirements and re-use crush nuts that are one time use only. Another major safety concern on the same repair.

Dash became sticky and has remained sticky ever since.the dash also appears to be melting.cannot clean as rag of any type sticks to the dash.reflection causes a glare that makes it difficult to see while driving.contacted infiniti and they say i have to pay for repair due to factory warranty expired.

Dashboard pad cracked and sticky. Dashboard is deteriorating.

The dash board of my 2009 g37 infiniti is melting cause a bright glare when sun is shining on to it. Causing me to be blinded my the light and unable to see the road ahead

Dash is cracking and peeling in several areas

The passenger side airbag sensor is faulty.it says that the airbag is off even when someone is occupying the passenger seat.infiniti quoted $7,000.00 to repair the sensor.the entire seat needs to be replaced.this is obviously a manufacturers defect.

My g37 09 infiniti is great.but sometimes when i am driving it jerks and on mydash board it indicator shows up as slip.could you tell me what is this issue?

Cracked dash. Car is less then 8 years old & has less then 54,000 miles on it. Seems to be a poor quality problem on 08-09 infinity g37

The dashboard is extremely sticky. The other day i was driving on the freeway and a plastic bag got stuck to the dashboard and obstructed my view, luckily no accident. Also, during really sunny days there is a strong glare coming from the dash affecting my visibility because of interference with my glasses.

Sticky dash board issue. The dash board melts in the sun and feels sticky to the touch.appears to be a common issue in several models.it happened with my current g37 and prior 2007 g35 sedan that i owned.i filed a claim with my insurance and dashboard was replaced.new dashboard is made out of a different material and is no longer melting or sticking.infiniti is aware of the issue and a lawsuit was filed in the state of florida.as part of the settlement, no one else can bring a lawsuit against nissan.this happened when i bought the car nov 2014 and only had 14,000 miles.

My 09 infinity g37 dashboard is melting bad

When driving at various speeds the car rpms will not go above 2500 rpms. As i was driving the car lost power and started to stall. I have had to put the car in neutral and coast to a stop from 70 mph. This has happened now at least 15 times over the last two years. Many posts i've read that infiniti is aware of the issue but i have yet to find a solution. The issue is very dangerous and know of many others that have had this issue from posts online.

On august 1, 2017my wife was driving north bound on hwy 71 in pomona ca..her sun roof glass exploded causing damage to the roof

Nhtsa action # 813795. Without warning rpm's drop to about 2,000 and vehicle will not go over 30 mph. Turning the car off for 30 seconds seem to reset the issue, but this very dangerous because it happens randomly. I believe it is the "ecm". There is a tsb on this, but it should be recalled! it has happened several times and i have had the ecm replaced, to no avail. The latest date is below.## vin passed ## infinitii g37 2009 ##

For years now my infiniti g37 dashboard is melting causing obstruction to my visibility. Today on my way from work the glare was so bad i was so close to getting an accident. The reflection can sometimes make it hard to see at night!nothing works i tried cleaning it with a wet rag and nothing works. Infiniti should take care of this problem it's absurd how a 'luxury' company tends to cut corners to make cheap dashboards.

'takata recall' 2009 g37 infiniti cracked dash and starting to get sticky seems to be a poor quality problem on 2008 & 2009 infiniti g37 i'm very disappointed because i like the car and take good care of the car, contacted infinti and they say have to pay for repair due to factory warranty expired .these dashboards are costly to replace and should not be the responsibility of the consumer ,i also have a 2001 nissan altima and the dashboard is in perfect condition how can this be and older car with a better dashboard than luxury car

Driving my new 2009 g37x infiniti and made a fairly hard brake for a red light - car slid a little to a stop, but continued accelerating at 2500 to 3000 rpms while i held both feet on the brake to keep it in place.it was like holding back a revved up jet - rpms would not come down even when i shifted car to neutral.never experienced anything like this is 40 years of driving.noticed odi complaint # 10296445 which is the exact description of what happened to me (without collision) with the same vehicle - 2009 infiniti g37x sedan.this problem is going to cause someone to get injured or killed!have an appointment with dealer on wednesday morning.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph and attempting to accelerate the vehicle hesitated before shifting gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The failure recurred multiple times. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,000.

I purchased a new g37x infiniti on march 31, 2009. On april 14, i was driving in a line of traffic and had to stop for a red light. I applied my brake and instead of stopping the car kept on accelerating (lunging) forward and finally hit the car in front of me. I was going slowly and there was no damage. The driver of the hit vehicle got out to inspect the damage and while he was looking, the car lunged forward again, almost hitting him. I thought perhaps it was my fault because it was raining out and the car has abs brakes which my previous 12 year old car did not have so i thought i didn't know how to drive in the rain. I immediately drove straight to the infiniti dealer and they checked it out and could find nothing wrong. On saturday, november 7, 2009, i was coming to a stop sign and applied my brakes and again the car wouldn't stop. It kept lunging forward and went through the intersection. Fortunately, no one was crossing the street and there were no cars in front of me. I was really shaken up. On monday, november 9, i brought it back to the infiniti dealer and they said there was a harsh 4>3 downshift causing vehicle to lunge. Apparently, a technical service bulletin had been issued between my two events and they did the fix. (tsb itb09-032b). I went on-line and discovered that this tsb does not address the problem i described. I then called the regional infiniti dealer and they opened a file on the case and said i shouldn't drive the car. I brought it back to the dealer and they gave me a loaner but asked for it back soon after because they had no date as to when the regional infiniti people could look at . Finally, on november 30th, mike weatherhill from infiniti looked at the car. I had heard nothing so i called the regional office twice and finally they told me that the case was in arbitration. I asked for that phone number which they refused to give me. I am at my wit's end trying to find out what is going on and am afraid that i am driving a time bomb.

On january 8, 2017, i was pulling into a parking spot in a local hardware store's parking lot and the car started to accelerate on its own accord. I had to press down on the brake pedal hard to stop the car, while all the time the car was still aggressively accelerating on its own. Thinking my foot had inadvertently been pushing on the gas pedal while also braking, i pulled my foot off of the brake pedal momentarily, but this caused the car to lurch forward and actually jump the curb with the front wheels. I immediately slammed the brakes back on and quickly shifted the transmission from drive to park, all the while the engine is still revving and trying to move forward. Once in park, i proceeded to push the start button and the engine stopped. I re-started the car at that point, but the dangerous condition did not return. I have driven the car since this episode with no recurrence, but it is quite concerning to me. I was going to let my sixteen year old daughter drive the car to school, but not now.

The contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly downshifted to approximately 10 mph and almost causing a crash. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealership where a chip was changed. However, the failure occurred three more times. The dealer then stated that the fluid in the vehicle was too full and was the cause of the failure. The vehicle was at the dealership at the time of the complaint and the contact wanted to trade it in for another vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown. The current mileage was approximately 12,000.

The material the dash board is made of melts at normal temperaturescompromising the integrity of the dash board and visibility (it's reflective).

I have photos showing the safety issue of the glare off of the dashboard. It makes seeing the road difficult and a clear safety hazard.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
