Takata recallthe passanger air bag light is on will not deploy airbag. Recalls was made but not for the vin of the infiniti g37 coupe 2008. I called and made an appointment with infiniti and they are still saying their is no recall for the coupe model only the sedan.

On the approx. Date of incident, i started the vehicle in the morning and noticed the air bag light would blink and not turn off.after referencing the manual, i brought the vehicle into an infiniti dealership to be diagnosed.the diagnosis was that the passenger side airbag sensor had failed and would cost more than $2,700 to replace.i left without replacing the part.i notice this exact item has already been recalled for this exact make/model/year vehicle, but the manufacturer has told me that the recall was not for my specific vin.this recall should be expanded to include all 2008 infiniti g37 vehicles.....updated 10/01/15

Passenger seat air bag sensor does not work. Checked with infiniti and vin doesn't fall under any recall. Getting the sensor replaced under the extended warranty.seeing similar complaints from other owners.

Around 6am on 4/13/19 me and my family and neighbors were awoken by an explosion in the front end of my vehicle..we called the fire dept and they ruled it as an electrical problem..i noticed that all the sensor lights in the dash would blink and the airbag sensor light was going off that evening prior to the incident..i didnt think much of it..i was planning on taking it to a mechanic that morning but it caught on fire..its a total loss.the fire fighters had to cut the hood open in half to get to the fire in the engine compartment..its not fair..i had just bought that car..and i loved my infinity..luckily i wasnt injured or anyone else. The vehicle was parked in the street..i need my car for work , school and on a regular basis. Please help me. *dt

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti g37. While the vehicle was parked, the front passenger side air bag warning light illuminated. The failure recurred on all occasions while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensors failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,360.

Airbag light randomly came one. I went into the dealership they said it was a sensor in my passenger seat and that it would cost 5k to replace. I was shocked. That is a manufactured problem and huge safety issue. I shouldn't have to pay for something like that when i already paid over 30k for the car. Not right.

The passenger airbag light is flashing. There was a past recall on this make, model and year for the very same issue. I have been told that my vehicle with less than 50k miles was not on the recall list. This is a safety issue which will be very expensive to repair and should be taken care of by infiniti as part of their recall. I do not understanding why this same issue does not include my vin number but was applicable to other same make, model and year cars as mine. Are there any other avenues i can pursue to fight this?

While driving down the road at 30 mph or less, i hit a bump and both airbags deploy. Infiniti has an "open case" with me but tells me it will take 6-8 weeks to determine if it even is their liability. The car drives fine and has had no issues until this. Infiniti does not return calls as i have called over thirty times and left messages. I have a case manager, [xxx], whom i leave voice mail. My insurance agent said it was a manufacturer default and to contact infiniti, which i promptly did. They refuse a loan vehicle while i am paying notes on a car i cannot drive. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I hit a bump or a pothole in the road and my driver side airbag deployed. My insurancewouldn't cover the claim as there had been no front or rear impact damage. Ever since my cars battery won't hold a charged and had to be jumped off prior to each use.

Air bag sensor suddenly come on.it cost $500 to diagnose that it was "probably" the sensor of the passenger seat.cost to repair estimated at $5000.i see that this is a more common problem than nissan admits.it should be recalled as others have. Not sure why it hasn't been.the car is worth less than $10,000.so i'm driving it in an unsafe condition but have no other choice financially. *dtvin not available

The airbag light came illuminated. The repair shop traced it to a possible faulty sensor or possibly the passenger seat. The sensor must be ordered from infiniti at a cost of almost $1300.and it might take 10 days to get it. Plus $700 in labor. It might not fix it and it could be the seat which would be $5000.this is half or more of the value of the car.i have noted that this is a common problem with the 2008-2010 infinit's.i was referenced in the infiniti service bulletin as a known defect but they are not offering any recall or repair compensation.that means that a lot of people are driving around in the older infiniti's without air bags!!

Passenger seat air bag sensor does not work. Infinity had an earlier recall and said problem was fixed in 2009. Infinity says automobile is now out of warranty and only fix is to replace seat at cost of $3500.00. I was told by infinity the recall was just to fix a wire not the sensor.wanted to notify you of continued problem and see if more owners are reporting continued problem with air bag.

The passenger airbag light keep blinking like the sensor isn't not working, i did came and ask infiniti dealer if there's any recall and they said no

The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and found nhtsa campaign number: 08v521000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer and dealer confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000. ..updated 07/13/17

Regarding tracking number 11400119.- infinity called me today(from phone number 6157257000. She said they are not interested in my case because the car has no recall on it. I'm confused because i thought you and infinity would want to know what caused the fire and if others with this model of.car were in danger of being set on fire.

I've been having a continuing problem in regards the stock panasonic cd changer. The cd changer is moving discs around when the power to the car if off, won't eject discs or receive them. This malfunction is draining my battery. I brought the car into a infiniti service shop and they advised me that the cd changer was malfunctioning and would repair if for $500.00, by inputting a remanufactured cd changer into the car. Upon them doing this, i was advised the radio they ordered, was also defective and they had to order another one. They replaced the cd changed and a month later, this cd changer also stopped working correctly. I had to go and have infiniti replace the radio for the third time, which was out of warranty. The currently cd changer is working, but for how long? i asked infiniti usa for a full refund and was advised that they could not assist me with any refund and weren't helpful or concerned at all about this problem. I filed a bbb claim in order to try and have my repair fee refunded, do to this defective part which should be recalled. Infiniti still uses panasoniccd changers in their new models are refuses to address this defective part issue. Many internet researches have shown this cd changer issue has affected many of their cars for several year's. In conclusion, i would never buy an infiniti automobile again do to the total disregard to customer service.

I have a 2008 infiniti g37s/ 6 speed, i have gone through 3 batteries since i purchased it used / certified in 2010. My battery kept dying so i brought it to infiniti and they said i has a parasitic electrical draw but could not tell me where is was coming from. One day i walked up to the car while it was shutoff and i heard the six disc cd changer, moving around the discs. The stock cd changer was operating while the car was off and killing my $150.00 battery. I ultimately pulled the fuse for the radio and upon doing that, i had no radio, heat, rear defrost and the ac comes on & you can't turn it off. I drove around for a month in the winter with the ac on which decreased my mileage. I called up infiniti and brought it in and they charged me $138.00 to tell me i need a new, same defective cd changer at a cost of $550, which was not covered. I advised them this is a serious safety issue and how could a cd changer affect the whole instrument panel? in addition, you can't even put an aftermarket radio / cd changer in the car because the heat, defrost, navi is all one unit. This bose radio unit is still being used till this day in their new models. I filed a bbb claim and they were no help. I love the car but would never buy and infiniti again. I had an acura before this car and they fixed every problem i had and treated me like i was there only customer they had.

Clicking noise coming from behind the tachometer.while driving, the clicking noise happens when the tachometer is between 2k & 3k. The faster i drive, the louder & faster the clicking.

Last night while i was sleeping, my car caught fire inside.it appears it started where the seat warmer button is(on the console). It was a big enough fire to reach the roof.

In the first 2,000 miles of driving i have experienced seven occasions of engine speed increase when braking. I am in stage two of the lemon law.

The vehicle has started to stutter upon taking off and shows signs of power loss. After much investigation, these g37s have a minor defect that causes the engines to run on low oil pressure. The part 'gallery gasket' is the culprit that causes these engines to, in bad cases, last only up to 100k miles. Everywhere online there are infiniti owners talking about this gallery gasket problem and few of them have had to buy a replacement engine because of it. Infiniti has failed to come forward with a solution to reduce the amount of oil related problems in these cars. As mentioned, this is a minor defect with the vq37 engines but with an outcome that can cost thousands of dollars to either fix or replace. A simple google search of 'g37 gallery gasket' will bring many pages of owners with the exact same problem trying to give each other advice. There are many videos online showing what an owner must go through in order to fix their daily drivers. It would only be right for infiniti to come forward and offer at least free labor to fixing these cars when the symptoms first start. That way owners can keep driving without worrying that their engines will go out due to a bad gallery gasket. The g37 is very reliable in all other aspects besides the gallery gasket. Owners can only hope that the proper steps are taken in order to avoid the problems the gallery gasket brings.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti g37. The contact stated that while parked she depressed the accelerator pedal but noticed the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle rolled slightly and upon depressing the brake pedal the pedal was locked and would not respond. After restarting the vehicle three different times the vehicle resumed acceleration and braking capability.the approximate failure mileage was 26,000.updated 12/13/12*ljthe consumer took the vehicle to the dealer on 11/5/12. A diagnostic test by the dealer indicated a problem with the relay system. A part was replaced. Updated 12/13/12

I have experience two occasions during stop and go traffic where the engine will rev up and accelerate. On those occasions i had to press the brakes hard to avoid hitting the car in front of me.i also changed gears to neutral.during both times i wasin stop and go traffic moving forward...not turning. I also tried using the cruise control. Was traveling in a toll road in motion.had difficult setting once cruise control was on... It mysteriously shut off. This was not weather related as it was a hot clear day and i was traveling the speed limit of 80.

I was driving down the road and noticed the clutch wasn't "feeling normal." as i shifted into 3rd gear, the clutch pedal stuck to the floor and wouldn't spring back. I tried pumping on it, then managed to get my foot underneath it to pull it up and then down shift. When i depressed the clutch again and attempted to shift into 2nd gear, the clutch stuck again and i was stuck in 3rd. I finally eased on the brakes and had to intentionally stall my car. I was lucky to have been on slow moving, lightly used road, or else this could have caused an accident. I managed to push the car off into a designated parking area and attempt to restart the car to no avail. In us law, endangering comprises several types of crimes involving conduct that is wrongful and reckless or wanton, and likely to produce death or grievous bodily harm to another person. From this experience and reading of situations like this, i am surprised nissan/infiniti have not recalled these cars for obvious endangerment of their customers and the welfare of other drivers. This problem with the clutch slave cylinders (csc) has occurred countless times, putting lives in danger. If the service departments at the nissan/infiniti dealerships state that this is a known issue with these cars, why has nissan north america, inc. Not done something to rectify this?

Infiniti g37, after warm usually more then 30min of driving will intermittently go into low and high acceleration on its own. As if you are braking with your left footand then giving it gas on and off with right foot. My wife has also described complete loss of power when the condition occurs and she tries to accelerate.she feels it could be a dangerous combination if it happens at the wrong time.we did schedule for a service appointment and hope this will help others with similar condition.

The engine makes clicking/tapping sound at start-up, dealer service department contacted.i was informed that i need a "special" oil change, and they're aware of the problem.after researching for the same problem, it looks like this 'special' factory oil will be needed and cost more than conventional oil.however, i was not informed of this specific matter when the vehicle was purchased nor does it say anywhere in my owner manuals.apparently, only the dealership had such oil and i am require to use it after the fact.

This has been happening on multiple occasions. Whenever i am driving and i try to stop, sometimes the engine increases while braking. It has happened about 4 times near a stop sign when i am driving 20mph, and in the highway driving 55-60mph. This is a serious issue and can cause an accident. I am taking it to the dealership on wednesday so they can either issue a lemon or fix the issue. I am very unhappy with this problem. I searched online and some people have been having the same issue and dealers telling them "there is nothing wrong".

The car was started and there was a loud rattling noise coming from the muffler. It is very loud and doesn't go away. Did my research and found out there is a defect in the muffler part number 20100 jl01a. And cars that experience this rattling noise must have their mufflers replace with part number 20100 jl01c. I went to the dealership and they said muffler is not covered in warranty and that there is no recall on the defected part. They want to charge me $880 to replace. The part is defected and they want me to pay for it, very scandalous.

The contact owns a 2008 infiniti g37s. The contact stated that while merging off an exit ramp at 60 mph, he attempted to shift into a lower gear but the clutch remained stuck in neutral. The contact was unable to shift gears. The contact safely merged onto the shoulder with the gear in neutral. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, who stated that the failure was a driver's error. The vehicle was being repaired at the dealer. The manufacturer was notified and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was 35,000.

While stopped behind another vehicle, the car's engine revved continuously, and i had to press the brakes harder, lest hit the vehicle in front.i switched the automatic transmission into neutral until the traffic moved again.

My vehicle's clutch completely lost its hydraulic capability and left my vehicle stranded in ongoing traffic. Me and a few volunteers were able to push my vehicle in neutral mode to the side of the road, however this could be warranted as a big safety concern if it is common occurrence for this make, model, and year.i had my vehicle towed the next day to an auto shop and they determined the clutch and slave cylinder were both faulty. Though wear and tear may be common for this part, after doing research on online forums this seems to be a common issue with infiniti g37's.

Driving the car in parking lot at work, placed car in reverse as the clutch was being released the car stalled out and shut off. The clutch bottomed out to the floor board and remained there. Car was unable to be driven. Was towed to auto shop to find out the slave cylinder requires to be changed.

G37s. Clutch flops around, rendering it ineffective - in traffic and at highway speeds. This has been a recurring problem.

When accelerating from a stop or at speed, the car hesitates/stalls then accelerates rapidly. This has happened 7 times in the last few months. Infiniti could not duplicate the issue 1 time and said there is no problem.

2008 infiniti g37s with a 5 speed automatic transmission with 41,000 miles - i was entering the freeway going about 55 mph and there was an 18 wheeler in front of me having a hard time picking up speed. Before passing, i tapped my brake, downshifted from 4th to 3rd gear with my left paddle shifter near the steering wheel and proceeded to get in the lane to the left of the merging lane onto the freeway. I was halfway in the lane and hit the gas but there was no response for 3-5 seconds. I had cars coming up behind me at 65-70 mph and my cars transmission was lagging, it was basically in neutral when i needed to go immediately, there was no response when i hit the gas, 2 cars almost hit me as my car decelerated to almost 45 mph. This has happened numerous times and is very dangerous. When the car does finally respond, it slams into gear unexpectedly and is sometimes hard to control. Please help us to resolve this issue or somebody will eventually get hurt if they already haven't. I have spoken to numerous infiniti owners and it seems that this is happening to them as well but only the same year as my car, 2008, and only the automatic transmissions.

Dashboard has become tacky and highly reflective causing a severe glare when the sun hits it. Vehicle surges while coming to a stop. Enough to hit something if you do not have the brake pedal pressed abnormally hard.

I understand the cars symptoms are the same described in infiniti's itb07048 bulletin (sudden acceleration), i was told the fix is free in the us but infiniti in puerto rico wants to charge for this safety issue fix. I understand puerto rico has the same regulations as in the us when transit is referred to. Why is it not a recall?

After 60k miles, the car has difficulty shifting in reverse. Once in reverse, the car doesn't roll back and it remains idle as if left in park.a foreign transmission repair shop owner said that this issue is not user error, and that nissan/infiniti have not been having ongoing trans issues with many of their models, but refuse to claim responsibility for most.nissan/infiniti usa will easily goad customers into paying $8k to install a new trans, however.

On october 23, 2009 i was driving in a parking structure with my infiniti g37 2008 and a passenger.there were several parking spaces on the fourth floor.the parking structure was very busy and slow moving.i coasted into the parking sport since i was driving at a crawl. When i touched the brake light to come to a complete stop the car surged forward with such a force that it hit the wall that was approximately 3 foot in front of parking curb.if it hadn't have been for the wall the car would have gone over.

On 9/30/2011 i was driving at approximately 10 mph through our high school parking lot. My space is directly aligned with a speed bump. I slowed dramatically for the speed bump at the same time i made the turn to enter my parking space. The car responded incorrectly to the brakes, which had happened to me once before. The car surged forward, over a sidewalk, down an embankment and into a wall. The first time the car surged forward like that was in 2008 and the service department told me there was nothing wrong. This time, the crash caused irreparable damage and my car was totaled.

This has been happening on multiple occasions. Whenever i am driving and i try to stop, sometimes the engine increases while braking. It has happened about 4 times near a stop sign when i am driving 20mph, and in the highway driving 55-60mph. This is a serious issue and can cause an accident. Experienced over six weeks five incidents of engine speed increase when braking as described by infiniti in their bulletin itb07-048. Reprogramming the 2008 g37 per this bulletin was unsuccessful. Dealer claims no problem because they can not verify.

Sticky and shiny dashboard - my dashboard has become extremely sticky and shiny. Sticky to the point that it seems to be melting. Shiny to the point that makes it difficult to drive due to the glare coming off of the dashboard. Sunglasses do not even help with the glare. The material around the steering wheel has become wilted. This all started about a year ago and is getting worse.

Vehicle dashboard is cracked in various areas. About a month ago i started noticing cracks close to the edge of the dash where the door and the dash meets. Cracks can be found around thea/c vents, above the lcd display, and on the lower right side next to the lcd display. The vehicle is garaged kept and driven only a couple of times during the week so, i'm even more disappointed how poorly the dashboard is holding up. I've owned a range rover, couple lexus and a mercedes and have never experience such an issue. Today i submitted several pictures to infiniti and awaits there response. I will update this complaint with the end results.

My dashboard is melted. Obvious defect of the manufacturer... It's sticky and shiny which makes it hard to see and pay attention while i'm driving. I saw that other people have the problem from my local news station and decided to fill this out.

The dashboard on my 2008 infiniti g37 coupe is melting.the glare off the dashboard is dangerous.this is unacceptable!

Sticky and shiny dashboard - my dashboard has become extremely sticky and shiny. Sticky to the point that it seems to be melting. 2008 g37 dash is cracking along the edges. Many other g37 from 2008 to 2010 are having this issues. Its a manufacture problem and should have been recalled long ago. People pay good money for these cars. Dash board caracking is a sign of cheap material used.

The dashboard is cracking and melting. Some small glare while driving is noticeable as it worsens. Infinity manufacturer needs to own up.

Melting dashboard makes the surface sticky and shiny. The sticky surface makes everything stick and impossible to clean. The shiny surface creates a glare problem on the windshield when the sun or light hits. That glare is a problem because i can't see sometimes while driving and creates a temporary blind spot.

Cracking of dash. My car was purchased with very dark glasses and it did not prevent the issue. Cracking has continued all over dash.

Numerous consumers have been complaining about the lack of quality, specifically in the 2008-2009 dash board components of the infiniti g37. There have been reports of melting and sticky dashboards as a result of poor build quality. This is a safety issue as the melting dashboard glares into the windshield while driving, causing difficulty to see down the road.

Vehicle pulls and jumps all over the place, this is so pronounced that the vehicle is unsafe to drive on most roads. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer 3 separate times for this issue, on each occasion they have performed an alignment but it does not solve the problem. On the fourth visit to the dealer an infiniti representative looked at the vehicle and declared that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle but confirmed in writing that the vehicle does indeed exhibit this behavior.additionally, the vehicle will occasionally have a completely unresponsive throttle and when i try to accelerate - the vehicle will just sit idling, this has become even more common since the last visit to the dealer (the dealer reprogrammed the ecu for reasons that still have not been made clear to me) concerning the above issue.

The dash of the car is melting causing a shiny surface that reflects off the windshield causing a visual impairment.the dash is getting sticky as well and can no longer be cleaned.any rag used sticks to the dash.dash has also become very soft which causes imperfections to occur at the slightest touch.there was a class action lawsuit for this that apparently only covered the state of florida.nissan agreed to replace dash and cover all cost except for $250.this should have been blanket coverage across all nissan/infiniti models affected.i know of other owners with same issue - their dash was made of same material as mine.link to class action lawsuit:https://www.girardgibbs.com/melting-dashboards/

Clicking noise coming from behind the tachometer.while driving, the clicking noise happens when the tachometer is between 2k & 3k. The faster i drive, the louder & faster the clicking.

The dashboard has numerous cracks and a very sticky residue all over, unable to clean, every cleaning cloth sticks to the dash. Dash is very shiny because of the sticky residue on it, making a glare when the sun is bright. I feel this is a safety issue due to the glare and it is also very unattractive because of the lint and everything that is stuck to it all the time.

Inside my 2008 g37 coupe, on the passenger side , water is leaking onto the floorboard. It looks like it's coming from somewhere in the firewall. I've ran my own test and tried to fix it multiple times for 3 years but finally caved in and looking for help. I think its something more than the sunroof drain . What can infiniti do to help me ?

Dashboard has become tacky and highly reflective causing a severe glare when the sun hits it. Vehicle surges while coming to a stop. Enough to hit something if you do not have the brake pedal pressed abnormally hard.

After the car has been driven for 20 minutes or more, it starts revving on its own.it happens mostly when i am entering my garage.i have to stop, back up, then go forward to get in because i have a side garage.i have to keep my foot on the brake to keep from surging forward.i have also had this problem when stopped at a stoplight and have almost hit the car in front of me because it surges forward forcefully.if i cut it off and re-start the engine, it stops surging.i mentioned this to my dealership and he said that if it is not doing it when i take it in, then they probably cant find out what the problem is.this has been an issue with my infinity for about one year now.

My garage kept 2008 g37s has a dash that has increasingly become shinier to the point that it has become dangerous to drive during the day when the sun is out. It is so reflective that it causes a tremendous glare on my windshield. This seemed to happen progressively over the last few years because when i bought the car 6 years ago it was not an issue. The dash itself is in one piece with no cracks but it is tacky like uncured rubber. If you put a fingernail in it lightly, that mark is now there to stay. This makes it impossible to clean or wipe down the dash due to running the finish. It also makes the inside of the windshield hazy due to what i have to assume is off gassing of some sort. The blinding glare this dash creates on my windshield has nearly caused me to crash on more than one occasion and has got me wanting to sell the car but i don't want to pass the problem on to anyone else. I paid 28,000 for the car 6 years ago and it was a 48,000 car new with every option possible. The infinity dealership in wichita ks was of no help even though they admitted there were problems with g37's and many other nissans and infinity of this era ( mid 2000's) where the meterial the dash pad is made from starts to break down just outside the factory warranty. It's only a matter of time these shiny tacky dashes start causing collisions due to blinding glare.

Dashboard has become tacky and highly reflective causing a severe glare when the sun hits it. Vehicle surges while coming to a stop. Enough to hit something if you do not have the brake pedal pressed abnormally hard.

The material infiniti uses for their dashboard has been melting from the heat. Because of this the car started getting a strong glare that blinds me from seeing the bottom half of the winshield. I almost got into an accident because i couldn't see the car on the left lane from the bottom corner of the winshieldthe dash is also very sticky because of this issue. I called infiniti and even though a lot of owners are having this problem, infiniti is just ignoring the situation and the repair to the dash is set right around 1000 bucks. That's insane!

The dashboard on my 2008 infiniti g37 coupe is melting.the glare off the dashboard is dangerous.this is unacceptable!

The dash board plastic is melting and the reflection of the sun makes it very difficult to drive in the direction of the sun at all times.
