The dashboard of the coupe 2005 infiniti g35 is melting and becomes sticky regardless of cleaning.today i noticed that the dashboard has become cracked and compromised, which may lead to an airbag issue down the line.aside, from the airbag, i believe this materials could be hazardous as they must be of low quality to "melt" when it isn't in much sunlight.the vehicle is always garaged every day and has only around 70000 miles.i believe there should be a recall to replace the dashboard.upon looking at forum and pictures from other infiniti and nissan owners, it looks as though i am not alone.please investigate further.

I had brought my vehicle in for the airbag recall.about 10-15 miles away from the dealer my airbag light went on.i called the dealer and service manager said the mechanic may have forgotten to reset computer and to come back at next service since dealer is not close to home or work.when i brought the csr back to dealer, they said it was not part of the recall but the wiring harness and airbag sensors need to be replaced for $1800. I refused to get it fixed and left.car has 210000 miles on it and the light is still on.
The contact owns a 2005 infinity g35. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the passenger seat air bag sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but refused to provided any assistance since the vehicle had already been repaired under recall nhtsa campaign number: 10v175000 (air bags , seats). The contact stated that the dealer reported that the vehicle was repaired under the recall but the repairs were never performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 98,000. The current mileage was 98,050.
Air bag light keeps coming on 2005 infiniti g35 sedan. I have taken it multiple times to riverside infiniti (riverside, ca) for the same occurrence. Their claim is they had to reset the codes for which i was charged for. Once i drove it off their lot, the air bag light once again came back on. I had to exit the freeway to call them back. They told me to bring it back. I turned back around and proceeded back to the infiniti dealer. On my way back to them, i hit a big piece of wood in the middle of the freeway and damaged the entire right rear of my car. Once i got there , they examined the vehicle and this time they told me the air bag needed to be replaced along with the spiral cable for which i was going to be charged well over $1,300. I refused to pay that amountand i told them that its a safety issue for which they should have covered without any charge. My air bag light has been coming on for the past few years and i have also taken it to stadium nissan of orange (orange, ca) where they have reset the codes and still the light has come on. Everywhere i turn to, everyone wants to take every little dime from my pocket at my life's expense for not correcting the problem the first time around. Now i hear about the 2005 g35 sedan models air bag light becoming a problem.
The airbag light in my 2005 infiniti g35 came on, on or about march 2014. I was told by the dealer it was the harness which was covered under a recall.the harness was repaired and i picked up my car. The airbag light came back on. I took it back to the dealerand was told i needed a new airbag module. I called infiniti corporate and filed a claim. Infiniti corporate agreed to pay for the airbag module. I took the car back to the dealer and they replaced the airbag module. The light came back on. I took the car back to the dealer and was told i needed a spiral cable, and "that will be $600, let us know when to order the part". I called infiniti corporate to reopen my claim. I questioned why the airbag light keeps illuminating when the harness and airbag module have been replaced. I was told "sometimes it's a 3 step process". Infiniti corporate later denied the claim stating they replaced the airbag module as a favor and they only allow 1 favor per customer. They also stated they were told the spiral cable may not fix the problem.i have reviewed blogs about the 2005 infiniti g35 and there are numerous owners who have had the same problem with the airbag and have paid out of pocket but the airbag problem was not resolved.i understand the federal government is also looking at airbag issues with several models of car. I would like you to look into the airbag issue further as clearly the harness (which was recalled) does not resolve the airbag issue on the 2005 infiniti g35.
My airbag trouble light appears on my display and i am concerned for my safety as a resukt of faulty airbags and/or connectors.about 2 years ago, the same airbag trouble light was illuninated and the problem was diagnosed as airbag connectors that needed to be replaced.i was told this related to side airbags.the repair xost more than $700.i asked if there were related recalls and was told no by the dealer.
Airbags did not deploy in a recent accident
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated sporadically. The dealer stated that the passenger side air bag harness kit needed to be updated. The driver side air bag was previously repaired according to nhtsa campaign number: 10v175000 (air bags, seats). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The sedan has an airbag that does not work properly the airbag light flashes non stop on the vehicle and does not go away. L looked online and saw a previous recall on this issue and the problem still remains. I took it to the dealership to be told that it was my fault and they do not warranty safety issues anymore. They continues to print out a statement for $1000 dollars with a code b1134. Its a $35,000 dollar car it should not have "safety" issues. Maybe because it is to expensive to deal with or is a human life more expensive. The airbags are obviously not working properly and the fact that they want to charge me for an issue they need to resolve internally is not very good business practice or professional. I know of other consumers online that have had the same issue plenty of people online with complaints. Being its a safety issue this needs to be addressed asap. If i were to get into an accident and the airbag does not deploy i will take legal action. I have no issue with that just have an issue with infiniti not taking responsibility. Thanks
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan. The contact stated that the dealership performed recall 10v175000 (air bags) but the air bag light remained illuminated after. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was 69,000 and the current mileage was 70,932. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer in august 2010 for a recall, relating to the air bag. In december 2010, the air bag light started flashing every time the vehicle was turned on.when the consumer contacted the dealer, he was told there would be a $125 diagnostic fee and the repairs would probably cost between $2000 and $5000. Updated 04/29/11
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. While being driven, the vehicle shook and smoke appeared from the dashboard. While the contact was attempting to stop the vehicle, the front driver and passenger side air bags deployed without warning or an impact. The contact was able to safely pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was flashing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 158,000.
Passenger side air bags failure warning light is blinking...this is the second occurrence.infiniti is refusing to repair this know issue by not wanting to replace the airbag at no cost.they have tried a minor fix for the problem that did not include replacing the airbag and now they want me to pay $2,000 to replace it.
The contact owned a 2005 infiniti g35. While driving 35 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact lost control and crashed into a tree. The front driver side air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained head and neck injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
While driving the car the engine lights come on and the car shuts completely off, no power at all, no control of car at all.i almost had an accident.the car does start again.this has happened two more times since.very scary.this is a huge safety concern.it happens without notice.i called infiniti and was told my car was not manufactured at the plant they were calling recalls for.well excuse me infiniti your problem is wide spread and extremely dangerous (my infinity case number for this problem **as well as my passenger airbag sensor problem they are not willing to address is 15697563).they informed me the airbag sensor was replaced in 2010 - it was not.i have the car-facts to prove this.infiniti stated to bring my car back to norwood, massachusetts infiniti for a diagnostic.i will do this this week but sadly expect the same run around i have received before.this car between the two safety issues i have reported above is at extreme crash and injury risk.
The contact owns a 2005 infinti g35x. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 10v175000 (air bags). The air bag light illuminated after the repairs were performed. The contact felt this was a safety issue. The failure and current mileages were 43,000.updated 03/05/12*ljthe consumer stated the air bag light has blinking sincemid-january. Updated 03/07/12
Recurring problem with srs failure.4 incidents beginning in2007 recurring in 2010, and twice in 2011.the 2010 occurrence was an airbag recall.car purchased in 2005 and currently has 38,144 miles.latest failure has completely disabled the airbag system. To repair, there are 2 parts which will cost $800 each.dealer not responsive; nissan of north america has been contacted.
Took car in to have passenger airbag harness replaced per recall.while in the shop, a critical concern was noted that the driver airbag module and spiral cable failed and needed to be replaced at a cost to the vehicle owner of $1,434.nissan customer service was contacted and refused to pay for the part replacement.the airbag light is illuminated on the dash and i was told that until the airbag parts are replaced, the airbag may not deploy in the event of a collision.it is my contention that nissan should fix a known safety defect associated with its airbags and that a recall should also be placed on the driver side airbag for this model and year vehicle.
While driving normally on the highway, the airbag indicator light on the dash came on and started to blink. After stopping and turning the car off and on, the light still blinks. Trying to perform an ecu reset, the blinking stops for about 1 minute and resumes. Took the car to the infiniti dealership in palm springs, ca and was informed that the recall has already been applied to my vehicle. The problem still persists and i was informed that if i don't fix it, the airbags will not deploy in the event of a crash. If the recall has been applied, then the problem should not be happening.
A safety recall notice was issued on 7-12-10 indicating a potential hazard for the passenger airbag not to activate upon a crash.apparently a remedy for the problem was identified by nissan/infinity and was carried out on the vehicle in 2011.subsequent to that repair i purchased the vehicle from its 2nd owner and in approximately july 2013 the same problem reoccurred.this necessitated my visit to the infinity dealer to both diagnose and repair the problem.again a remedy was identified by nissan/infinity but the remedy had changed from the previous one. As the first remedy was part of a recall and paid for through the dealer, i am requesting that the subsequently remedy be subject to another recall or be a continuation of the first recall.i was informed by the dealer that the cost of the remedy was my responsibility since it was not the subject of a 2nd recall, even for the same safety issue.i am at a loss as to why this is not the same ongoing safety issue identified in april 2010, only to be later identified and assigned a different remedy, probably because the initial remedy failed and did so over a relatively short period of time?please clarify.thank you
2005 infiniti g35 sedan. Consumer found many problems with car and feels been fooled by dealership. *tathe consumer stated two days, after he purchased the vehicle, he noticed defect. A mechanic confirmed the air bag was not functioning, as the light was flashing, the tires were overly worn, the cd player was not working, the passenger door would not shut properly, the wheels were not aligned and the lower cat shield made a noise.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign number 10v175000 (air bags, seats) was performed however the air bag warning light was illuminated. Thedealer performed a diagnostic which advised that the air bag module, spiral cable and sensor control unitneeded to be replaced. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 142,000.updated 2/11/014
Since october 2012 (approximate), i have noticed increased oil consumption in the 2005 g35. Currently, the car is consuming approximately 1/2 quart every 1000 miles. There are no oil leaks or visible smoke from the exhaust. The condition continues to deteriorate. Also passenger side curtain air bag light is illuminated. I had it tested to identify which air bag was defective.
My car has the "dtc b1129 or b1134" related to "itb12-034b" and "itb10-036b" but when i called infiniti dealership, they said that my car's vin does not apply. It's exactly the issue described on the recall campaign bulletin how does this not apply? it's the deterioration of the terminal connector that increases impedance on the harness and causes the airbag light to come on falsely but it's enough to cost money. Why doesn't the infiniti dealership do this?
My airbag light came on and i had it fixed under the recall. A short while after that, it came back on and was told i needed an airbag module. I find it weird that my vehicle and a lot of other infiniti g35s have this same problem in this order. Also every time i left dealership, a week after, i realized the they had damaged the brackets that hold the plastic cover to the front of the seats.
Brakes failed on infinity g35 and resulted in an automobile accident where infinity hit another car.
2005 infiniti g35 coupein may of 2010 an air bag light came on in my car.dreyer reinbold infiniti in indianapolis looked at it, said they didn't know what the problem was and needed to replace the whole system for $3000.my car at that time had around 87,000 miles on it and i'm the original owner.both air bags are not working either.then in june there was a recall on the air bags on my car.i had it looked at and my car still does not have air bags working.infiniti of north america says they will not fix the problem as it's not part of the recall.other than paying their $3000 what can i do?dreyer reinbold has been nothing but a pain to me.thank you for you help.
There was a recall for airbags on this vehicle on april 27, 2010.i purchased this vehicle about a month ago.the air bag light has been blinking every since day one, so i looked up the recalls and found that this was a problems.i also called infinity and they said the recall on this vehicle had been fixed and no further assistance will be given to this vehicle.i have read numerous complaints with this same matter, and believe that the problems has never been fixed by the dealer, unless they performed a partial fix to get the customer out of the door.this is a serious problem especially if this vehicle is involved in a crash and the air bag does not deploy and another innocent person may be killed by this ongoing problem.if this happens, i am like the other complaints, i will seek legal action against nissan and infinity for their poor customer satisfaction as reported by so many other customers and nothing is being done.
There is a issue with the air bag system in the manufactured cars and trucks made by the nissan corporation. A call back was issued for the passenger side air bags but not the driver side steering column. A coil located internal within the steering column is defect and will not allow the air bag to deploy in an emergency. Safety of the driver should be the primary issue when a company puts their name on a product like a motor vehicle. There are only two safety features located for the drivers safety. Please address my concerns by issuing a call back on the nissan vehicles that have this defect for the drivers safetythank you respectfully
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 10v175000 (air bags) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs. The dealer advised the contact that the recall repairs could not be performed because the driver side seat harness tensioner was off track and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned with the safety hazard associated with the failure.the failure and current mileage was 68,000. Updated 05/04/11
I own a 2005 infiniti g35x. The air bag warning lamp illuminates intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed that the passenger seat air bag sensor was defective and needed to be replaced, an estimated repair cost of $1200 was provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who refused to provided any assistance since the vehicle had already been repaired under recall nhtsa campaign number: 10v175000 (air bags, seats), but clearly the vehicle was never repaired. Investigation of the infiniti user forum will clearly indicate that airbag failure (post recall) is very common in this particular model, while infiniti/nissan is continually ignoring the issue. After reading all the complaints in the forums and the nhtsa website, i believe that infiniti/nissan never repaired the cars under the recall, but merely disabled the warning light during the recall repair visit. The initial failure mileage was approximately at 65000 miles. The failure happens intermittently. The current mileage is 89600. I request nhtsa to investigate in the matter and help the consumers from an impending fatal disaster.
Takata recallmy 2005 infiniti g35 was not included in the recall of every year prior and after.the car was probably put together in 2005 and should be included in the recall because the alert is now flashing.i never had a problem like this with my older infiniti.the alert will not turn off.it went off when i drove back from the dealership after spending over $2500 to get it fixed.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor light flashed off and on, which indicated that the air bag system was faulty. The dealer diagnosed that the driver side curtain air bag was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 70,000. ....updated 01/12/15the consumer stated the vehicle was recall for an air bag issue in 2010. However, the problem has since returned. Updated 01/15/15
The passenger side air bag switch can turn off the air bag when an adult is occupying the seat.i have discussed this with the dealer and was told that this has been a long standing problem with nissan and infiniti cars.i am concerned that the air bag will not operate when someone is in the passenger seat.
Leased vehicle, highway driving and very limited local/city driving. Brakes had 'grinding' noise whenever initially applied and i was told by dealer that was how the "european brake system" sounds -?required front brake pads/rotors replaced at ~ 19,000 miles 8 months after acquiring the car. Rear brake pads/rotors then had to be replaced 13 months after acquiring the car at ~ 29,000 miles. Was told when had car in for faulty air bag light ~ 6 weeks ago front pads were worn to 4.5 mm. Car is in for 38k service now and it is suspected i am going to have to replace the front brake pads, again after only 19,000 miles since new pads were put on!
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35x sedan. The contact statedthe air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealership where the problem was determined to be an open circuit in the right side module. The deective module was replaced. The dealer informed the contact that there was a short circuit in the air bag on the front passenger side.the failure mileage was 51,000. Updated 05/31/12 the consumer was reimbursed for the repair cost.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35.the contact stated that the air bag light would blink along with another light, which indicated that the passenger side air bag was off.the indicators would alert that the air bag was off even when the passenger seat was occupied.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the entire unit needed to be replaced at the cost of almost $1,000.the manufacturer stated that there was no recall for his year, make, and model vehicle.the current mileage was 54,482 and failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
I was driving on the highway at 55 miles an hour when unexpectedly, the car starts to make some noise then it completely shuts down the motor, the check engine light comes on,vdc off, and slip lights all came on. I tried to restart the car, and only after multiple attempts (about three) did the car start.there is no warning. The auto repair facility ran a diagnostic and the code they got was the cam sensors needed replacing, which cost me $650.they said they have been replacing a lot of these. It's very prevalent. They informed me that the 2003 model of the infiniti g35 hadarecall for the same problem.
Takata recall: my car started having problemswith in 2 weeks. The car would turn off with no warning, the gauges are broke, has funny smell of gas, fuel pump is broke, the temp guague is broke, stalls, electical problems,broke/cracked gasket, leaking coolant and oil.
My fuel gauge is always acting very wacky and is almost never displays the correct amount of fuel.my headlights are always very dim and don't seem like they need to be replaced. My suspension arm bushing are making a lot of noise.
My vehicle stalled while driving creating a very hazardous situation. Engine restarted with hesitation and vdc, slip, and service engine light came on and remained on. I was told by dealer that it was due to a faulty camshaft position sensor and parts and labor for a new one would cost an estimated $500. Thereis currently a recall on 2003 models for the same problem, recall #03v455000.as i have seen other complaints for this issue on other models, it should be investigated and an updated recall for other model years needs to be enforced. This is a potentially dangerous malfunction.this is unacceptable and could result in several lawsuits.
While driving check engine soon comes on vehicle shuts off research its a 1 cam shaft sensor
I was preparing to stop at a traffic light, going about 10 mph, when my car shut off. I tried to start it, and it wouldn't start, but the "vdc off" light and "slip" light came on. After a few tries the car started and i was able to make it a few blocks to a gas station, but the car didn't run very well at all. I couldn't get it to restart after parking it at the gas station and had to have it towed for repair. The cam sensor needed replacing, at a cost of about $500. The car ran fine for about 8 weeks, but then the "vdc off" and "slip" lights came on again, although the car seems to run o.k. The lights are still on and i'm afraid to drive the car more than a few miles until i have it repaired again. There was a recall on 2003 models for the same problem and this should definitely be investigated as a possible recall for newer models. It's a very dangerous, expensive problem.
I have a 2005 infiniti g35x. I have owned it since approximately 50k miles. Friday night, on my way driving from dc to ny, the ac got stuck at 90 degrees, and in auto mode, the backlight for the instrument cluster went completely dead, and the stereo went out completely. I have no control over any of these 3 devices. Since i live on the east coast and all the dealerships in the area are closed, i called one in riverside, ca - riverside infiniti. They said the stereo is dead and they've seen the problem "countless times" (quote). I made a posting on several infiniti forums on the internet requesting advice. The consensus is the same - stereo is bad. I feel that the instrument cluster and my hvac should never be connected to the stereo as this is a major safety concern. Also, since this is a common problem, infiniti should issue a recall/tsb.
While eating lunch at bojangles in petersburg, va., people inside the restaurant noticed smoke coming out of my car while parked.fire department was calledand fire was extinguished by a volunteer firefighter in area.fire department arrived afterwards.it appears the seat caught fire unexpectedly.interior of car also caught fire and was on burning untilextinguished.
I have done some research online.lots of people are having or have had the sameproblem.very prevalent.as you are driving the down the road the car starts to make some noise then it completely shuts down the motor, the check engine light comes on and does not start once it stops.there is no warning.it takes a while for the sensor to reset -- putting me and my vehicle in harms way.this happened to me on a very busy overpass.the vehicle shut down.i had a hard time steering and getting over out of the way.i was almost hit several times by other cars driving 50 plus mph.i had to have the car towed.once we got to the auto repair facility.it started again but then shut off.i was googling this symptom and the year, make model (2005 infiiniti g35 engine stall) and this was all over the internet.several other people were put at risk of injury.i was convinced this was my problem, too.the auto repair facility ran a diagnostic and this was the code they got as well.i already knew what the problem was going to be.so my question is... Why has this not been recalled if?it is dangerous.i don't want this to happen to anyone else.thank god my daughter was not driving.
My car should be included on the cam shaft sensor recall 03v455000the car stalls while driving with the vdc and service engine soon lights turning on.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The car shuts down while driving and a combination of light such as slip and vdc appear. This has occurred 4 times in less than three years costing me 2500 in repairs. Each time the problem is diagnosed with a camshaft sensor issue. I researched online and there are hundreds of complaints listed from other infiniti and nissan owners. There certainly seems to be a pattern and this is a very dangerous situation as the car shuts down in the middle of a highway with traffic going 60 miles per hour and faster behind me. Since i am not breaking, the driver behind does not see a break light and could plow into me. I called infiniti and they tell me there is no recall.
Approximately 3 months ago i purchased a 2005 infiniti g35 for my daughter. Two weeks ago the car began to shut completely down while she was driving it with no warning whatsoever - regardless of speed.there would be a complete loss of power, including power steering, so it would be difficult for her to get the car off the road before attempting to restart it.this problem has continued to occur at random every time the car is driven creating a very dangerous situation; particularly, for a teenage driver.i googled the car's issues, and learned that nissan has a recall on 2005 infiniti g35's for the replacement of a camshaft position sensor which has been described as causing this loss of power problem. I called nissan to see if my daughter's car was on the recall list and was told it was not.an infiniti dealer ran a diagnostic on the car this morning and confirmed that the car's camshaft position sensor had failed and needs to be replaced.i believe nissan should honor this recall on every 2005 infiniti g35 vehicle - not just those vehicles whose vin numbers appear on the recall list - especially those vehicles who have had the sensor fail.the repair totals $425.00 and i am seeking reimbursement of that amount from nissan.
Driving car then it stalled. Tried to restart and all lights came on (engine, vcf, slip-light). Wouldn't start for 2 minutes. Once restarted, engine light stayed on. Drove car to get diagnostic test. Diagnostic says camshaft position sensor. Researched and found same happenings on 2002 & 2003 models; infiniti has recall on those. Called about my vin and infiniti claims that my vin is not included in recall.
During normal city driving conditions the vehicle has a sudden lost of power dropping down to a speed of 35-40 mph, no acceleration is possible above 35-40 mph, indicator lights come ondash board "slip, vdc off and service engine soon".on two different occasions vehicles directly behind me have had to come to sudden stops to avoid a rear end collision, since i am unable to accelerate and they are traveling at a consistent rate of speed. This failure has happen again today, bring the total of occurrences to three(3). The dealership has replaces the accelerator pedal 7/20/05 and the throttle chamber 9/7/05. None of these corrections have improved the problem.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. While driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the camshaft position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 115,000.
Fuel gauge is all over the place.recently ran out of gas while gaige showed 3/4 full
The third brake light has become extremely dim and an led no longer works, a problem that runs rampant throughout many g35's. It is a great safety risk, the probability for a rear end accident increased greatly thanks to the failure of the third brake light. Infiniti must fix this issue, they have been avoiding it for too long.
05 g35 auto sedan. Gas gauge not reading amount of gas correctly for the last 5 years. Wasted over 900$ in parts. New and used to try and get it fixed. Nothing worked. Replaced fuel pump, level sender units and instrument clusters 3 time. Upset nhtsa and mfr. Are not recalling to fix this issues. A lot of vehicles having same life threatening problems. Folks in forums and youtube and social medias all talking about it, but yet no one's doing anything. After three times my car stalled on me i had enough, because it's matter of time when the next one end in deadly consequences. 1st time car ran out of gas on highway 99 and a car behind me almost hit me from behind. The gas at the time was reading 1/4 and no low gas indicator lights up. Car shudder with no acceleration when gas pedal is press down. Then all electrical and power went out with no control except for hard steering. I managed to pull to shoulder from the car pool lane before car died. Luckily there weren't many cars on the freeway that moment it started dying on me. 2nd time it happened on the main street and same symptoms as first time as above. Then i looked at my gas gauge and it says 1/2 full! but car ran out of gas and again i managed to pull to a safe area away from traffics. Only this time i was thinking i had enough gas bc it was reading 1/2 of gas left in the tank. But no gas indicator lighted up and car spudder and all lights on dashboard came on and eventually came to slow down and died. I kept trying to start the car but all it did was just crank and cranks, but doesn't turnover and start. 3rd time it happened to me on the highway again. This time a car came within 1ft. Of ramming me from behind as it swerved away honking at me when my car ran out of gas. I looked at gas gauge and was reading 3/4 full and again no low gas indicator lights up. Same symptoms as previous 2 occasions. Please recall.
My car randomly shuts off when i'm driving. I actually ended up hitting the freeway divider. I need this problem fixed. I have been driving with the car turning off on me since january. The problem has gotten worse.
Fuel gauge registers over half a tank when tank is actually very near empty. When tank is filled up, gauge goes to just above full, and slowly decreases to just over half a tank as the tank nears empty. I have to watch my mileage and guess to know when i'm almost out of gas. This seems unsafe.
I was driving my car in rush hour traffic, washington, dc.my car, for no apparent reason shut off and a light "service engine soon" came on.there was no warning that the car was going to cut-off.it simply shut off in the middle of traffic.i tried to restart and was unsuccessful the first couple of times.about the 4th try my car started and i continued to my destination.the "ses" light remained on.about 1 to 2 miles into the remainder of the drive, the car shut off again in traffic and a light that read "slip" appeared along with vdc on/off.i have the slightest idea what this means, but it was frightening to be in traffic and have my car shut off without warning and my children on board.we could have definitely been in a really bad situation had this happened on the highway.i've seen multiple reports and complaints about this and believe this should truly be considered as a viable recall.i don't think we should wait for any actual accident or death to occur before this is addressed properly.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. While driving between 35-45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact was concerned that the failure would recur and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. It was diagnosed that the camshaft position sensor failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,643.

We received the car april 18, 2020. We were told that nothing was wrong with the car besides the gas gauge on the dash. On april 20,2020, we were on the highway and the car stopped. We turned the car off for a bit and the problem still persisted. The engine will rev but the car wouldn't go forward nor reverse. We let the car rest for about 20 minutes and it started to work. We then took the car to the mechanic the next day and he told us that the transmission wasn't no good and that's there was an exhaust leak.
I bought a 2005 infiniti g35 last year and did not know about the oil consumption defect that the g35 has. I recently developed a knocking sound in the engine and when i checked the oil i noticed the engine was low on oil. I filled the car up with the 2 quarts of oil that was missing. I checked the engine, engine bay and also under the car to see if there was an oil leak present but there wasn't any. A friend of mine told me about the oil consumption that the car is known to haveand to my surprise my car was consuming a quart of oil ever 500 miles
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the dynamic control light illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and had the transmission repaired, but that did not correct the failure. The dealer stated that the failure was related to the crank shaft position sensor or the cam shaft position sensor. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 142,000.
I was pulling out of a parking space - put car from reverse into drive - engine suddenly raced to red line. My foot was not on the accelerator at this moment. Even with maximum pressure on brake pedal car moved forward to other parked cars and would not return to idle. I turned off ignition. Car stopped 12 inches from a parked car. When restarted, car behaved normally and i have been unable to reproduce incident. Very dangerous problem!
My infinity g35 2005 m/t has a manufacturers defect of oil consumption and is very common to the engine for this model the vq35 it only has 63,000 miles on it and it consumes 1.5 quarts of oil every 1,000 miles. The car starts knocking with no oil in it by 2,000 after an oil change. I change the oil and only 1 quart comes out when it's supposed to have 5quarts! this is also causing my check engine light to turn on with codes that the oxygen sensors and three way catalyst are bad. It squeals when turning it on and knocks while driving.
Engine shutoff without warning. Service engine soon, slip, and vdc off indicators all immediately illuminated. Problem occurred 3 times within a one hour period. I was able to pull off the road and restart the car each time. This could have been a very dangerous condition, especially if it would have happened while on an expressway. Problem seems similar to recall 03v455000, but my vin is not listed.
I own a 2005 g35 coupe and started noticing that the motor is burning a lot of oil. I researched online and found out that my year of car has problems with oil consumption. So i called my local infinity and they said that they can perform the test but if i want to fix it, ill have to pay out of my pocket. Is that right? are they suppose to fix it? is it repaired under warranty or recall?
My 2005 infiniti g35 unexpectedly shut off while i was driving it today. Thankfully, i was not on the freeway at the time. The service engine soon, vdc off, and slip lights all came on. I tried to restart the car, and only after multiple attempts (about five) did the car start, and i was able to park in a safe place. Something very similar happened with this car in july 2010. After the july 2010 incident, i had to replace a couple of sensors, which cost over $1,000. I did not expect to have to relive the experience of having my car shut off without warning while driving. I believe that the older (2003) version of the infiniti g35 had a recall for a similar problem. It is unacceptable that infiniti / nissan has not found a permanent solution to this problem. I had my car towed to an infiniti dealership this evening, and i await the diagnostic reading tomorrow. I will be petrified to drive my car now.
I bought this car in october 2016 from a place called skyline auto, in ham lake, mndidn't jab no concerns when i bought it. There was no ch3ck engine light or tapping feom the motor. I bought the car go5 'll fluids refilled did regular oil changes wal-mart in pine city, mn withintwo months after i bought it tje chek engiine light came on so i went to an o'reillys in siren wisconsin codes back for camshaft sensor. I was planning on buying two sensors to be replaced. The check engine light did not stay onall the time. After my last oil change at walmart in nov. I was on my way home a loud tapping noise coming from the front of the engine i have not after this loud noise occurred i have not drove it far it's been parked since i did loose the keys and fob so i have not been able to look into thos more i'm curious of what is causing this noise
Driving car in traffic - the car stalled. Almost rear ended. No warning. Unable to restart car for 5-10 minutes. On engine light on - vcf (off) light on - slip light on. The problem is with the crankshaft angel sensor and/or the camshaft position sensor. Car automatically shuts down.
Oil consumption. It uses too much oil. The same motor in nissan 350 z was an issue which resulted in nissan replacing the engineit's called a vq engine.
I was on my way to school doing 65 on the freeway when my car loses power and starts to stall in the freeway. It sounded like it was going to explode and couldn't accelerate. I got off the next exit and immediately pulled over in a gas station. Later on i brought it to the shop and told me my camshaft broke. There was a recall for 2003/2004 models for camshaft doing this but stopped for 2005 even though my car did the same thing as they did. Called infiniti and they had nothing to say. Thankfully i wasn't hurt but i really wish infiniti stepped up and fixed this problem for the 2005 models because it is not safe and can cause an accident. They did it for 03/04 models and if it does it in the 05's why not do a recall also.
The vdc and service engine warning lights were illuminated and causing the vehicle to fail to start or stall continuously. My car should be included on the cam shaft sensor recall 03v455000 the car stalls while driving with the vdc and service engine soon lights are on. Car keeps on shutting down. Replaced cam shaft sensor and the problem happened again today 12/09/13. Looks like a very common problem.
Faulty camshaft position sensor - code 0345 - car stalled when driving 15 mphcity drivingwas on a curvecar is an automaticwas able to restart while coasting in neutral.approximately 112,000 miles
Cam shaft sensor check engine light came on saying it was that. Replaced both sensors costing $150 for autozone parts light still on. Read that some had success unplugging battery for 24 hours and filling the oil up.....smh sadseat slides forward when breaking about 4".
Take the car for a oil change after 8 months but only 1800 miles and oil was at low mark , this car model year have a tbs report from infiniti for oil consumption oc problem a lot ofowners have the same problem infiniti refuse to replace the engine out of warranty they know is a problem with the piston rings on the rev up 05 07 engines , they need to do a recall . [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Infiniti g35 sedan 6 speed manual transmission - up rev - vq35deoil consumption is beyond safe and operational under normal driving conditions.initially car engine seized after 3000 miles of driving.dealership said it was the oil consumption, and the customer needed to add oil. (this incident was not reported by infiniti of marin).according to inifinit tsb -itb08-002d - this is an apparent problem, and there is a test and solution for this faulty engine.inifiniti consumer affairs says i am out of warranty period, and this will have to be an out of pocket expense.they also mentioned it is the responsibility of the dealership to notify the customers, and it is out of their control.
Vehicle stalled while in motion creating a danger on the roadway.restarted, but the engine hesitated before turning over.check engine, vdc & slip warning lights were displayed and remained on.dealer inspected vehicle and determined a faulty cam sensor and remedied to replace costing almost $500.there is currently a recall on the 2003 model which had the same problem.recall #03v455000.infiniti will not correct the problem at their expense without a recall.it should be assumed newer models will exhibit similar problems as the original recall.i hope subsequent models will be added to the original recall.most owners are not aware of reporting these issues until serious injuries occur and there's litigation.please investigate and pressure manufacturer to issue a recall.
In december 2013 i was driving on the highway with the cruise control set at 60 mph when vehicle completely shut down. Vehicle started back up because of the speed i was driving. Later on my trip home i was doing 45 mph and vehicle shut down and loss all control of vehicle. Brought the vehicle to an autozone to scan and see what the problem was. It was the camshaft position sensors. I changed the sensors and had no problems until 3/20/2014 when the vehicle started shutting down again. First thought it was bad fuel. Tried different fuel station and vehicle still would shut down unexpected. When vehicle shuts down you lose control of vehicle. Very dangerous situation for the route that i drive due to a lot of curves in the road. Brought the vehicle to autozone again to scan for the problem and now it's the crankshaft position sensor. Called infiniti to see if there was a recall because i have seen a lot of comments on this problem. Infiniti said there was no open recall. Bought sensor and will repair myself before a serious incident occurs.
Takata recall: my car started having problemswith in 2 weeks. The car would turn off with no warning, the gauges are broke, has funny smell of gas, fuel pump is broke, the temp guague is broke, stalls, electical problems,broke/cracked gasket, leaking coolant and oil.
My car goes thru almost 2 quarts per 1000 miles. This car model year have a tbs report from infiniti for oil consumption oc problem a lot of owners have the same problem infiniti refuse to replace the engine out of warranty they know is a problem with the piston rings on the rev up 05 07 engines , they need to do a recall . Was told we can make a complaint to nissan/infiniti for vq35de rev-up engines consuming a lot of oil at 1k miles.unsafe to drive car normally in fear of motor malfunction major damage and loss of value.
Service engine soon, vdc off, and slip lights all come on from start up of vehicle. Engine bogs a lot, specially when slightly more agresive acceleration. I changed hid wire by pulling out the headlight unit and the next time i drove it this happened.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35.the contact stated that while traveling 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the steering became difficult to maneuver.the contact mentioned that the service engine light, slit, and nbc off indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was merged to the side of the road and after restarting it the vehicle resumed normal operation.the manufacturer was not notified.the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the cam shaft and crank shaft sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired.the failure and current mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled as the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal sensor and the sensor module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 51,000.
The vdc and service engine warning lights were illuminated and causing the vehicle to fail to start or stall continuously. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

I have a 2005 g35 coupe w/ heavy oil consumption problems.my car is consuming roughly 3 quarts of oil every 2,000 miles and infiniti has done an oil consumption testand had one of their techs look at my car and they determined that i needed a new engine but they will not warranty a new one for me.the corporate hq told me they took pictures and a sample, that they have yet to show me and are going to void my warranty.i have since taken it to another shop and they don't agree with infiniti findings and corporate has still not sent me anything in writing or any pictures of their findings.all i got was a phone call saying they were going to void my warranty and i spoke with the service tech and he does not agree with the findings either and said that my modification to my car does not cause that much oil consumption and i am being shunned away by the dealership.i am also apart of a g35 forum and there are many threads/posts of people with the same oil consumption problem and they are getting the same treatment and i believe that this should be a recall on these engines and i need, along with other need to receive a new engine.infiniti/nissan knows about this issue but they will not come clean with their findings and are blaming the customer and i honestly do not think it is fair.
My car should be included on the cam shaft sensor recall 03v455000the car stalls while driving with the vdc and service engine soon lights turning on.
My first issue:engine oil consumption i am an owner of a 2005 infiniti g35 5at. I bought it certified pre-owned at 62,000 miles 2 years ago. From last year (when the vehicle was at 78000) miles i started to have severe oil consumption problems. One day i took it to get an oil change and the mechanic noticed i only had one quart of oil left. By the next 1000 miles (after the oil change) the oil light kept coming on every time i braked. I pulled over and checked my oil and it was extremely low to the point i was scared of driving it further so i got it towed to the infiniti dealer. At that time i was out of warranty and they weren't able to help me. I started looking online to see if other g35 owners were experiencing the same issue and i was shocked to see how many were. Right now i carry oil with me in the trunk knowing that it is going to be burning. I hope there will be something done about this as it seems a lot of people have been affected by this issue.my second issue: suspensionand tire wear.ever since i purchased my car i have gone trough too many tires (last year alone i went through 3 sets). I am not a crazy driver and always careful on the way i drive especially after purchasing so many tires. I have bought aftermarket suspension parts (to adjust camber and toe as it is not adjustable from the factory)to try to alleviate the tire wear but it has not done anything. I am on my 5th set as of a month ago and i got a custom alignment done to maximize tire life but they have already detected uneven tire wear.
I own a 2005 infiniti g35 manual trans. It suffers from the common oil consumption issue. It was taken to the only local dealership in puerto rico and was denied warranty replacement because there are aftermarket parts on the engine. I believe this is illegal since they can't prove those modifications caused the condition since it's well knows these cars suffer from this. I have contacted them several times but they insist on their decision. They informed me several times they had submitted the claim to nissan usa but never answered any of my email and never answered my request for that documentation. I contacted nissan usa and they said my dealership had never contacted them and that i should deal with my local dealership since i'm in puerto rico. Please help.
Hole found in the ac condenser (just behind front bumper) causing ac failure/loss of freon with approx 1700 mi on car.given the grillwork and under side molding it is hard to belive dealer explanation that rock caused event.replacement cost me $700.
I did a oil change on my car this day. I also did the one prior to it. I put 5 quarts in, but only drained about 2-2 1/2 qts. The dealership said that it is a known issue and that they need to do my next oil change and start the oil consumption tests. They said that if it is a problem, they will take the appropriate steps and possibly have the engine replaced.
1 quart of oil per 1000 miles.. Unsafe to drive car normally in fear of motor malfunction major damage and loss of value.
I own a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan with just under 50,000 miles on it. I was on the off-ramp of a freeway when my car completely shut down. Everything was locked- steering wheel and brakes. The service engine soon light came on as well as the slip light under the gear indicator. I was able to coast down the off-ramp and stopped on the street. I tried to restart my car, and after about the 5th attempt, my car started. Everything seemed normal (no warning lights on the dash), and i drove 1/2 mile to my appointment. I decided to take my car to the nearest infiniti dealership after my appointment. On my way to the dealership, my car shut down again. I was able to restart my car after the 4th or 5th attempt. This time, the warning lights on the dash (service engine soon and slip) remained on. I was about 1/2 mile from the dealership, and i was able to make it to the dealership safely without the car shutting down for the 3rd time.the dealership checked the car and told me that i need to replace the crank and cam position sensors as well as the sensor assembly magnet.the repair cost was just under $700 - not covered under warranty.
The original engine in my 2005 infiniti g35 6-speed coupe was replaced due to a high engine oil consumption problem. Infiniti had a service bulletin for this problem and replaced the engine. However the new engine still consumes the same amount of oil and has the same exact problem. The tampa infiniti dealership is now saying that "it is normal" although the new engine burns a lot of oil like the original engine.
I was told we can make a shout out for a complaint to nissan/infiniti for vq35de rev-up engines consuming a lot of oil at 1k miles.i own a 2005 g35 coupe 6 speed manual i have had 1 engine replacement for oil consumption problems and this being my new engine at 60k i am beginning to have the same issue again. I have to add 2.5 quarts of oil at 1k miles, and could damage my engine permanently infiniti has denied me extended warranty cause of this issue.. Weak piston rings and or pistons are the culprit for our thousands of g35 6 speed manual rev-up motors drivers.. To need upto 3 engine replacements or denied extended warranties from nissan/infiniti i wish they would have a re-cal for these vq35de engines for these issues years 2005-2007.
Car has 9,300 miles on it and the engine uses approx. 2.5 quarts of oil every 2000 miles. I belong to a g35 forum and there are many others with the same car having the same problem. Many are having engines replaced. Mine goes to service in the near future. There is an obvious defect that should be addressed.
1. Recently got an oil change and there was 1 qt of motor oil left, i got the next oil change after that and there was again just about 1qt of motor oil2. Engine oil consumption; engine burning 1qt of motor oil +- every 1,000 miles.
My 2005 infiniti g35 coupe has been experiencing high amounts of engine oil consumption. Finally, i asked the dealer to perform an engine oil consumption test. Through the course of 3 dealership documented engine oil consumption tests, my car has consumed 4 quarts of engine oil in some 2,739 miles. The infiniti dealer has advised me that this rate of engine oil consumption is acceptable by infiniti standards. That i now come to learn that 2005 and 2006 infiniti g35's and nissan 350z's equipped with a 6 speed manual transmissions have been plagued with this high rate of engine oil consumption for some time. Should this issue not be a recall item for the consumer?
The contact owns a 2005 infinity g35 sedan. The contact stated that the vdc and service engine warning lights were illuminated and causing the vehicle to fail to start or stall continuously. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 66,000.
I purchased a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan with the "revup" motor, new with 6 miles on it.i don't have a dealer around me so on my first oil change i went to a local oil place and had the recommended oil and filter installed, that was @ 3000 miles.with around 4,800 miles on it i noticed a loud valve lashing sound coming from the engine when it was cold started, i shut it off and checked the oil, nothing on the stick.put in one qt., nothing 2qts., nothing finally on the third qt. It registered a qt. Low.i was four qts. Low!i jumped onto the main 350z and g35 message boards and there it was many many people with the same problem.after reading about people on their third engine having the same problems i decided to bite the bullet and have the rebuild done by a local shop.when the motor was broke apart i was appalled every piston had sustained damage.all of the ring lands were fractured and a couple were completely broke off.the way that i see it i spent 7000 dollars to find out what the problem is and i think i know!!!psi do have multiple pictures of the pistons if you need it.kp
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35.at 32,000 during an oil change, the mechanic stated that there was no oil in the vehicle. At 35,000 miles during an oil change, the mechanic stated again that there was no oil in the vehicle. On january 8, 2008, the dealer explained that the manufacturer installed defective piston rings and his vin is related to the failure. The manufacturer stated that they would not honor the repair since the vehicle had a rebuilt title. The failure mileage was 32000 and the current mileage was 37000.
On june 2nd, 2008 i had took my car in for a scheduled appointment to have my bose 6-disc cd player to be changed out with one that does not eat my cd's. I figured it may have been a slight problem that hadn't been worked out by the manufacture. Bose having such a high rating, i didn't think much of it at the time. This is until it happened again at the end of august, 2008. Now i began to become concerned because the refurbished bose system that i had received in no way should have lasted for that short period of time. Not even two months is unacceptable. I called infiniti on september 10th and spoke with riverside infiniti's parts manager, who informed me that this is on going concern, but there is nothing that infiniti can do besides replace the system which will be out of warranty in 20,000 miles. I believe that infiniti should be held responsible for this unit and replace it with an upgraded version, or refund the amount in which i have paid for the bose system so that i may go and obtain an aftermarket cd player that will actually work, and if it does not i am sure that the store in which i buy it from, will take care of it better then infiniti has. This is an on going consumer complaint, i've done the research, now it's time that something is actually done about it.
My third brake light went out after only about 5 years.
3rd brake light failure.
Recently i have been noticing my 3rd brake light works when it wants to.if i had to say it probably works 4 out of 10 times you hit the brake pedal.this is an extremely very important issue. State of pennsylvania it is mandatory to have 3 brake lights.right now, i have 2 working ones and 1 that is undecided when it wants to work.i do not have the vin handy right now, as i am at work.
2005 infiniti g35 sedan. Led third brake light in op at times. Usually off.
Third brake light doesn't work. Becoming a common problem with cars within this makers community.
My 3rd brake light works sometimes and almost caused me to get rear ended on the streets! i was told that my light didn't work when i slowed down which caused the other driver be unaware. I called the dealer for this problem and was told it would cost around $600 to fix it. Even though its not driver problem related i believe the manufacture should be responsible to fix this problem.
The third (high mount) brake light is inoperative on my 2005 infiniti g35 sedan. No individual event lead to this occurrence. Without reading other owner's complaints online, i would not have checked mine. When checked, mine too was inoperative. After monitoring, this is not a sporadic issue, it is inoperative at all times. To date, i have not suffered any direct consequences, but i am now concerned i run a higher risk of being rear ended by another driver. Even though this appears to effect a large majority of g35 owners, infiniti will not repair this issue because my car is out of warranty. Repair cost is nearly $500.00, but infiniti has not updated the part, so i fear another failure would be imminent. However, for personal safety i have no choice.
Rear third brake light works intermittently.
I have had my 2005 infiniti g35 sedan for 2 years now and about 3 months ago my third brake light would no longer turn on. I was pulled over by a new jersey state trooper informing me of this and he went on to give me a ticket for it. I have not had it replaced yet because i believe it should be a recall by infiniti since the life of the third brake light should be longer than 5 years on a $40k car.
1. One day just stops working, or intermittently functioning. 2. 3rd brake light, it ether can be totally dead or intermittently go out. 3. Replacement of totally new led strip , replacing it with oem will cause the problem to occur with time. Due to faulty electronics which prematurely fail if you look at any 03/04 model g35their 3rd brake light is most likely out.05/06 are also experiencing this issue.i myself have a 2005 g35 and the light works intermittently. Threads on the topic from the leading g35 community http://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/344000-brake-light-back-window-out.htmlhttp://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/354451-infiniti-consumer-affairs-f-ck-over-regarding-rear-window-brake-light-issue.htmlhttp://g35driver.com/forums/lighting/321229-3rd-brake-light-problems.htmlsome other placeshttp://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/showthread.php/third-brake-light-03-g35-sedan-working-4996.htmlhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/third-brake-light-troubles-t214239.htmlall these links, show that this is a very common issue.
Just brought vehicle into dealer and was informed i need third brake light.cost of replacement was over $500 which included parts and labor.after further research i found that this is a common issue with these vehicles and infiniti will do nothing about it.i could understand if this were just an issue of a bulb burning out and a $10 replacement part, but this unit is basically installed as a permanent led component without the thought of easy replacement.for such a simple safety item i feel that the price and labor is extreme and there is obviously a manufacturing defect.
3rd brake-light.
I currently own a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan and i have a persistent problem with the third brake light (the one in the back glass) either does not work, or works intermittently.. I have been doing some research on the matter and it seems like a common problem in the infiniti forums.
My rear window brake light fails to work. It is an l.e.d. Unit and should not have failed this early in my vehicle. This is dangerous due to the lack of this light when braking! infiniti knows of the problem yet charges over $200 to fix the light which is wrong.
The 3rd brake light on my vehicle keeps flickering or going out completely.this is dangerous and also annoying because i have almost been rear ended on numerous occasions because it is out.
Third brake light out on late model infiniti g35 sedan.
The 3rd brake light for the 05 g35 sedan has gone out prematurely. It works intermittently, but also flickers at times.
Rear window brake light malfunction, this is a known and repeatable issue with many g35 sedans years 2003-2006.the rear window brake light stops working intermittently, or works in varying degrees of brightness, with no consistency, rhyme or reason.unable to get the light to remain on consistently, and given the feedback in online forums, etc - this is an apparent problem with the light installation, etc.
I too have had my center brake light to out intermittently in the past few months. I have not yet taken it in to be checked, but plan to do so in the next week.
I have a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan with a rear window third brake started to not work correctly.the issue started sometime around 75,000 miles where the brake light would only be dim with two of the leds not working at all and sometimes the brake light would entirely not turn on.now at 98,000 miles, the issue is getting worse with the light not turning on 90% of the time.i have not tried to fix the problem myself due to the results others have been talking about on the www.g35driver.com forum.i was quoted a high price to replace the third brake light and it was with a part not identical to the original.there should be a recall on this issue due to the safety addition the light is made for.there are strict laws in california regarding the operation of the third brake light working and now hoping that i do not get pulled over due to this issue.
The third brake light inside the rear glass does not work and never has. It is not just mine that doesn't either. Almost all g35's without oem spoiler have this issue.
1. Braking2. Third brake light leds go out, or work intermittently and with low miles on the car (sub-60k)3. Need to replace the entire led housing.
The third brake light has become extremely dim and an led no longer works, a problem that runs rampant throughout many g35's. It is a great safety risk, the probability for a rear end accident increased greatly thanks to the failure of the third brake light. Infiniti must fix this issue, they have been avoiding it for too long.
Hmsl (third brake light) is completely inoperative.one led had been out for two years, then the entire unit failed.infiniti dealers sell the replacement unit for over $200, plus that sum in labor for the dealer.this is a common unit failure in the g35 models, according to internet searches and observation of numerous vehicles on the road.it is a safety issue that has remained unaddressed for years.
Center brake light in the rear window fails to work at different times since 2009. This light is very expensive to replace/repair and is a verycommon problem on the 2003-2006 infiniti g35 sedan, i have replaced it two times in my 4 years of ownership! i have almost been rear ended on numerous occasions that i cannot seem to count on 2 hands. This part is a safety risk as it is out a majority of the time! i replace it once due to failure of passing a massachusetts inspection sticker test, and yet again it is out/working intermittently.
Third-brake light intermittently works and goes out. Does not work 80% of the time.
Third brake light has been out for at least a year.
The third brake light on many g35 vehicles from 2003 - 2007 does not work - there is an issue with the circuitry on the third brake light that sits behind the window, up above the trunk.this is a clear safety issue and should be addressed by the manufacturer.
I drive a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan.my 3rd brake light has now been off and on for about 3 weeks now.i have read that many other people who drive the same car as me are having the same problem and have addresses the issue to you.i am very shocked that something has not been done yet.i drive in rush hour traffic most of the day and fear that since my brake light does not come on i will get hit.it seems that this is a technical issue.it is very frustrating to know i could be in a fatal accident just because of a light not working.i have notified nissan and infiniti but have not heard back.
The 3rd brake light (the one in the back windshield) comes on and off intermittently. It will go out while im braking or sometimes its really dim. I don't know what the issue is. I am constantly paranoid about the brake lights since that is the only one i can actually see while driving. I catch myself braking if i pass a sign so i can see the reflection to verify that the other brake lights are working. It is a safety issue and it worries me. I don't have $$ to repair something that sometimes works and no one seems to know what the issue is. If it works sometimes, its not a fuse and i don't think its electrical b/c there is no pattern/rhythm to when the brake light may go out. With electric, it's either connected or its not. It doesn't come on from time to time.if this is a known error, according to several websites, then infiniti should recall the brake light and fix it. Infiniti is a luxury vehicle and having an intermittent brake light is not something that an owner should have to contend with. That is not a maintenance or mechanical repair. It sounds like a faulty system.
On 04/06/2012 i was driving on the 60e freeway in the #2 lane going 65 mph and the car suddenly lost all acceleration. It dropped from 65-40 within seconds and the car would not respond when i pressed the gas pedal.i was barely able to get to the right shoulder without causing an accident (this happened during rush hour).the shoulder was extremely narrow and the car was completely disabled. Within minutes an rctc tow truck appeared and the driver asked what had happened. When i explained how the car had lost all acceleration, he told me it sounded like i ran out of gas. The gauge on the dash said there was still a quarter of a tank of gas left and i showed it to him, so i didn't believe that this could be possible. He offered to put a gallon of gas in the tank to see if it would start up and as soon as he did that the car started up with no problem. He directed me to pyrite st to fill up my tank and when i got there the car took almost 20 gallons! even though the gauge read that there was still 1/4 tank of gas! after looking online this appears to be a very common problem and i'm upset that infiniti has not issued a recall knowing that this affects so many people. This is a serious safety issue. I drive 82 miles a day on the fwy and being female, i am afraid that this could happen at any time and i would be stranded. It is also so dangerous to lose all power on the freeway! i feel this should be reported as a recall item and that infiniti should be compelled to recognize the problem as the widespread issue that it is, and complete the necessary repairs to make this an operationally safe vehicle.
At 55k miles, car is refusing to accept any more than 6 gallons of gas. Looked it up and there are four tsb's on it but no recalls. Further research indicates that it is a known problem with the 2005 g35 sedans. Called infiniti in austin and was told "oh yeah, we've seen that problem a lot. It's about $900 to fix it." ridiculous that an obvious flaw with the car, occurring nationwide has not been recalled.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35x sedan. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was providing inaccurate fuel level readings. The fuel would provide an empty reading when the fuel tank was full and once the fuel tank reached one half full, the fuel gauge would fluctuate back and forth.the vehicle had not been taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs.the failure mileage was 70,000 and the current 75,000.updated 04/19/12*lj
I am having a major issue with my 2005 infiniti g35x which has a flawed fuel level sensor gauge.i have read in many forums of people having the same issue and filing a complaint.it is a serious matter, the meter sometimes reads full but is actually close to empty.this can lead to an engine shut-off on interstate and expressways and pose as a major hazard to me and other drivers.i believe nissan/infiniti should offer a recall or drivers should be reimbursed for any repairs that there car will undergo to fix the problem..thank you.
March 5. 2012, on the way home from picking my son up at basketball practice, i noticed the car losing power.i told my son, something was wrong with the car, he asked what and i said i'm pressing the gas the car is not responding.at the point where the street became two lanes, i got over into the #2 lane (closest to the curb).i was truly panicked because i was on a very dark street (indiana in riverside) trying to get to van buren so that i could enter the freeway. The car shut off completely just about a half block from vanburen. I called my husband to let him know what had happened and his first question wasdo you have gas??i said yes, the gauge says i have a quarter of a tank, so i know it?s not gas.the aaa tech arrived and asked what happened.when i explained he said, it sounds like you're out of gas. I said no that can't be it, here look at the fuel gauge, it says i have aof a tank.he said ok but let's try gas first anyway. The technician put 2 gallons of gas in the car, it started right up and then the fuel gauge went fromof a tank to(miraculous for 2 gallons of gas). I went on the internet and did a google search using the terms infinity fuel gauge and it lit up like a slot machine. I can't tell you how many sites and blogs were filled with complaints about this issue. I saw on autoblog.com where nissan recalled 05-08 infinity qx56 for fuel gauge inaccuracies so my question is why weren't the g35's recalled?imagine if i had actually made it to the freeway and this happened. I am upset and i want my fuel gauge fixed.my husband is content to calculate miles between fill ups but i don't have time for that nonsense. I am on the road constantly,i need to be able to look at my gauge and know when to go the gas station.

Fuel gauge does not work .it never goes below 2/3 full and could cause the car to run out of gas.if this happened when on the freeway it could lead to a dangerous situation as steering and brakes would be affected along with avoiding other vehicles if car lost power intraffic.
The fuel gauge will not reflect accurate levels.after filling the gas tank, and turning on the ignition the fuel gauge needle doesn't move.
The vehicle was a 2005 infiniti g35. On 11/8/12, i was driving on the freeway in the middle lane going approximately 65 mph and the car suddenly lost all acceleration. It dropped from 65 mph to 0 mph within minutes and the car seized up and was not responsive to pressing on the gas pedal. I was barely able to get to the right shoulder without causing an accident. The shoulder was extremely narrow and the car was immobile. The gas gauge on the dash said there was still a quarter of a tank of gas left. I walked to the gas station and put a gallon of gas in the tank to see if it would start up. As soon as i did that, the car started up with no problem. I went to fill up my tank and when i got there, i poured about 16 gallons of gas. I'm afraid that this could happen at any time, and i would be stranded with my car in jeopardy of getting hit. This gas fuel system problem happened on 11/8/12.
Fuel gauge does not show accurate information.cannot fill gas take full anymore.will only hold approx. 6 gallons.if car runs out of gas without proper warning may cause bad accident.there should be a recall on this matter immediately.
Takata recall: my car started having problemswith in 2 weeks. The car would turn off with no warning, the gauges are broke, has funny smell of gas, fuel pump is broke, the temp guague is broke, stalls, electical problems,broke/cracked gasket, leaking coolant and oil.
I ran out of gas on my commute home from work.my gas hand read a quarter of a tank when i completely ran out of gas leaving me stranded on the interstate. Since this happened i've done some research and it's a common problem for g35 infiniti's. They gave a recall on the nissan and infiniti suv for this exact problem same year my 2005 infiniti was made.the g35 sedan and coupe should be included in this recall.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the fuel gauge displayed a full tank however the fuel tank was empty, which caused the vehicle to stall. Additionally, the speedodometer reading fluctuated. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 124,466. The vin was unavailable.
Fuel gauge inaccuracy caused me to run out of gas on the interstate. I was travelling at highway speeds when this occurred. There was sufficient time and space to pull over to the shoulder. Contacted virginia state police. They dispatched a highway safety patrol vehicle that gave me enough gas to reach a gas station
I have 118k miles on my vehicle. I recently have had many issues with my fuel gauge. I've read hundreds of complaints online regarding the instrument cluster and fuel gauge issues. This is very dangerous because the other day i almost lost control of my vehicle i think because it was almost out of fuel. The gas gauge read over 1/2 tank. I called the local infinitilupient and they said there were no recalls. There should be. Hundreds of people have said that this happens around 120,000. This needs to be a recall.
Fuel guage not reading correct level. Fuel needle is fluctuating up and down whenever it wants. Ex1...gas light comes on with needle on e empty...car die...then put gas full til gas is spillin out of car. And needle goes full just under the f full line. Sometime goes by driving and the needle will fluctuates down to half way mark. Shut off car...go shopping and come back start car and needle at 3/4 mark. Drive hm. Shut off. Start car next day and needle at 3/4 mark again. Not accurate as u can tell. After drivin awahile the gas would go down and gas light comes on.drive home. Turn car off. Nxt morning start car and the needle is at half way to 3/4 way mark gain. This not possible bcause yesterday the needle was low and gas light came on. Now its back at 3/4 mark. Sometime its at 1/2 way. Sometime its at 1/4 mark. Three times my car died on me due to no gas...while the needle is at 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4 way. And the gas light did not come on either when it died on me b.c needle was above the e mark.this is a very dangerous and a safety recall issue that needs to b address. Dont wait til some one car get caught on fires! don't wait til the car die in middle of freeway traffic and end up in a rear end collisions or accidents! dont wait for tragedy to happen and legal actions! please nhtsa help do recall for this infiniti 2005 sedan g35. And forward this to mfgs. And infiniti!please help my complaints and others with this vehicles. Please email me or call me with outcome of resolutions! im very upset b.c i've wasted over $350 replacing the cluater gauge...odometer houaing and both the whole fuel sender units in the gas tank! tree times! it still fluctuates giving wrong readings of the gas! so upset b.c i had my 10yr & 13yr old daughters in the car with me and we almost got rear ended by drivers. And causes collisions & back up on freeway! email me results & resolutions!

Service engine soon, vdc off, and slip lights all come on from start up of vehicle. Engine bogs a lot, specially when slightly more agresive acceleration. I changed hid wire by pulling out the headlight unit and the next time i drove it this happened.
Front drive shaft ears that hold the u-joint broke off then the drive shaft broke transmission bell housing at 65mph on highway going straight
The transmission has failed more than once already and based on my research i've come to believe that it is due to the coolant mixing with transmission fluid in the radiator.
The vehicle that i have done so much research on is the 2003-2006 g35 which i own now has a issue with the clutch pedal sticking and getting stuck during driving situations which to me is a very horrible hazard for us if do to high miles on freeway and clutch sticks to the floor, which had occurred to me and made me panic and almost had causes a accident realizing that it had got stuck and i had to yank it out the bottom of the floor. I feel this should be a extreme issue to you guys and should be notified immediately to infinity dealerships so that this can be taken care of. I have looked all over and to many others who had the exact same defect as my vehicle now.
Was coming to a stop at red light, just before car stopped moving it felt like the trans down shifted hard. I had my foot on brake, already stopped and car lunged forward. It felt like it was going to take off and hit the car in front of me, i put it in neutral and the car revvedup to about 6500 rpm for 3 to 4 seconds then dropped down to normal. I anpositive i did not have my foot on the gas and the floor mat was not pushing the pedal, i talked to my mechanic andhe thinks the throttle had to be open as this is a drive by wire car.
I have had multiple issues with my car. The most severe have been a replacement bolt on the axle that made a clicking sound when i put it in reverse. That took place within 2 months of my owning the car. The other has been my brakes. They were making squealing sounds when they were depressed, at 4500 miles. I kept complaining to the dealership and they finally realized that there was an issue with the front brakes. It was fixed at 9,000 miles. The squealing subsided somewhat, but there has always been a sound. I took my car in again recently for routine maintenance and complained that the sound has still not gone away. They said there was dust on the brakes, and that once it was cleaned up, it should be fine. They said my back brakes were now an issue. Mysteriously, after picking up my car, the squealing was worse and was now coming from the back of the car. The service rep said that i need to fix them within the 1500 miles. I was not having any issues with back brakes up until this point. I truly believe that the service tech tampered did something to them. Finally, my sunroof starting giving out and requires a new motor. This all happened within 2 years with barely 14,000 miles!
Dt*:the contact stated there is a loud rubbing noise from the front end, which can be heard above the radio.the dealership determined the noise was a cupping on the inside of the tires, this is caused by the vehicle.the tires need to be replaced every 10,000 miles.also, the clutch was grinding, but the dealership refuses to look at this.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe. The contact was driving 65 mph when the clutch pedal abnormally dropped to the floorboard causing the vehicle to be come resistant to downshifting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the clutch was replaced but did not remedy the failure. The clutch master cylinder was then replaced but to no avail. The failure persisted and there were no further repairs to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 16,000.
I have just purchased a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe. My wife is the primary driver and is 5ft 2" tall. The problem we have is that when she drives the car and buckles her seat bealt the edge of the strap of the shoulder belt goes right across the side of her neck.i have contacted the dealer and they have told me that there is nothing that they now of that can be done. The ironic thing is that on the sedan version the belt is adjustable up and down.my fear is that if there is an accident that this proble could cause serious if not fatal injury to her if the belt locks during an accident.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. While driving approximately 35 mph, the front driver's side seat began to move forward inadvertently, moving the contact farther toward the steering wheel. The contact applied constant pressure to the power seat switch and placed her foot firmly on the floorboard in order for the seat to remain secured. The failure recurred sporadically. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the power seat adjustment switch was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000. The vin was unavailable.
Driver's seat not secure.
As the first remedy was part of a recall and paid for through the dealer, i am requesting that the subsequently remedy be subject to another recall or be a continuation of the first recall.i was informed by the dealer that the cost of the remedy was my responsibility since it was not the subject of a 2nd recall, even for the same safety issue.i am at a loss as to why this is not the same ongoing safety issue identified in april 2010, only to be later identified and assigned a different remedy, probably because the initial remedy failed and did so over a relatively short period of time?please clarify.thank you
The sedan has an airbag that does not work properly the airbag light flashes non stop on the vehicle and does not go away. Thanks
Vacuuming car and put both seats in a forward position. When i was done the seats would not move back to its regular position. Passenger seat was already giving me electrical problems, however back part of seat still worked. The driver's seat i had never had problems with before. Both seats are now in an awkward undrivable position and will not budge. I do not know what the problem is but what i do know is that the dealer will not sell individual parts, but the seat as a whole which will set me back a couple thousand that i do not have.
Cam shaft sensor check engine light came on saying it was that. Replaced both sensors costing $150 for autozone parts light still on. Read that some had success unplugging battery for 24 hours and filling the oil up.....smh sadseat slides forward when breaking about 4".
While driving, the seats automatically move forward all the way towards the steering wheel. The only way to stop this movement is to hold onto the seat control to move the seat backwards. This happened several times, and causes a very dangerous situation while driving. No corrective action has been taken yet. The car was not brought into the dealer. 2005 infiniti g35 coupe 6mt.
Driving 70 mile in fwy my car engine just shut off completely i almost died out there because of cars behind me. I calmly changed steering wheel to right side of fwy with left over speed after 5 of vehicle behind me almost crashed me and each other. Turn off engine and started engine few time and it worked so i sent my car to shop and they said it's a 2 of sensor prob. And while he was moving my car, driver side seat switch button was on fire! fire! what is going on. I would have been killed out there if not for god. I see a lot of people complained on sensor prob with engine shut off, isn't this dangerous to drive???? risking all of people's lives????
While eating lunch at bojangles in petersburg, va., people inside the restaurant noticed smoke coming out of my car while parked.fire department was calledand fire was extinguished by a volunteer firefighter in area.fire department arrived afterwards.it appears the seat caught fire unexpectedly.interior of car also caught fire and was on burning untilextinguished.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 142,000.updated 2/11/014
The seats are too uncomfortable causing pain on the right leg.i believe the root cause is that the controls are on the right side of the seat putting extra pressure on driver's leg.
The third brake light on many g35 vehicles from 2003 - 2007 does not work - there is an issue with the circuitry on the third brake light that sits behind the window, up above the trunk.this is a clear safety issue and should be addressed by the manufacturer.
Third-brake light intermittently works and goes out. Does not work 80% of the time.

3rd brake light works intermittently.
The high , center mounted, third brake light either fails to activate when the brake pedal is depressed, or it lights very dimly.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35. While driving 30 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact was unable to engage the brakes and the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Brakes failed on infinity g35 and resulted in an automobile accident where infinity hit another car.

An intermittent problem has been exhibited twice in the 200+ miles that the car has been driven since we took delivery.the following is a description of what happens. This happened both times while traveling at nominal speeds, about 30 mph and starting to apply the brakes to stop the vehicle.upon applying the brakes, they felt very spongy and did not stop the car.simultaneously the engine rpm increased which further prevented stopping of the car. (for a time it seemed as though the engine was working against the brakes.)when the brakes were depressed harder this continued. Finally, after 5 seconds or so of this very scary and unusual feeling the engine rpm dropped and the brakes started working normally and the vehicle was able to be stopped.fortunately, both times the stopping was not in a critical situation, and no accident resulted.as a result of this intermittent dangerous problem, we can no longer drive the car and feel safe.therefore, we brought it to the dealer, competition infiniti, smithtown, ny, and they are investigating the problem.
Brand new 2005 infiniti g35x, 5 days old.driving with my son and a passenger up a hill approx 60 mph, entered turn saw a truck, went to apply breaks but they did not work.i turned the vehicle so as to not hit the truck direct and cause less damage.the driver of the other vehicle did not hear the breaks, my son nor his friend felt the vehicle try to stop.result is $2500 in body damage to my car.the dealer states nothing is wrong and that it is my fault.infiniti has opened a case but will not have an inspector available until october 24th.6 weeks from incident.
The "slip" light flashed when coasting at about 7-10 mph. The "slip" light is a function of the abs system. This occurred as soon as i drove it off of the dealers lot, and it was my first time driving. This vehicle (internet order, so i didn't have a chance to drive this exact vehicle before i purchased the car). As the "slip" light flashes, i hear the grinding noise of what appears to be the abs system engaging. I took it into the dealership and for 4 days, they could not figure out the problem. After the 4th day, they replaced the speed sensor in the right rear wheel. On the way home after picking up my car after 6 days in the shop, the "slip" light continued to flash at 7-10 mph. I called the service department again and they said that they'll try replacing the abs control unit. After waiting over a week, the dealer told me that the part was in. When i dropped off the, they told me that they had ordered the wrong part. Now, it's scheduled to be in the shop for 3 days. The dealer tells me that they are not sure that this will cure the problem. I cannot rely on the brake system of this car nor do i trust the service department of the infiniti dealership.
Rear brake wear out at 17,000 miles.
The brakes on my wife's 2005 g35 infiniti are dangerous.my wife has had two front brake repairs in the year (and less than 15,000 miles) she has owned the car.when she brought it in this time, they told her the rotor was on the brink of failure.in my opinion, after less than 8000 miles since the last brake job, the brakes should not be on the brink of catastrophic failure.their response is that is normal brake wear for that car.

Steering lock inplace had to break the ignition to drive my wheel was at 1:00 my tires straight
Made a right turn onto a round about street and when i tried to turn left my steering wheel locked straight like if the car was parked. The wheels wouldn't turn and i hit a parked truck where a person was working on. He did get injured but i am not aware of the exact injuries he sustained. I was driving a 2005 g35 sedan which i've had for around 4 months.

I purchased a 2005 g35 coupe in july of 2005. Since taking receipt of the vehicle the car has pulled right. This occurs on all road surfaces and is more pronounced at higher speeds.the dealer told me the car was aligned to factory specifications. Then they changed out the tires and wheels with ones from a loaner car that didn't pull (and had similar miles). Then they told me it was due to road crown. The last time (4th) time i took it in they said all infiniti's pull to the right. A quick survey among four other infiniti owners at work revealed that none of their infinitis pull right. The dealer refuses to rectify the problem. [side note: there were service bulletins for the 2003 and 2004 g35's for the same problem.]
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35 sedan.the contact noticed that the dashboard on the passenger side was fractured and could affect the deployment of the air bag in the event of a crash.the dealer did not offer any assistance.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure.no repairs were performed.the current mileage was 61,500 and the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Cracks around the dashboard of the vehicle.
My dash is melting.
The dashboard in my car started melting sometime back while under warranty. It is sticky, gives a shine under sun and cannot be cleaned. Repeated requests to the dealer were turned down blaming the issue on the hot weather. I have another vehicle honda odyssey under the same conditions which doesn't have this issue. This is a manufacturer's defect. Please help resolve my issue.
Dashboard is cracking and separating in many different places. The car has always been garage kept and maintained to the highest standards. I am the original owner. I owned many cars and never had this issue with any one of them.
Rear-end collision.result: death of driver in car hit - 2005 infiniti g35 2door.spare tire assembly had been changed for this model year.factory installed bolt securing spare was too short.on collision spare tire launched by impact through the rear seat striking and killing driver. Subsequent model(so had longer bolts or different bolt structure.(details unknown) vin is available at nissan; car was totaled.owner was driving.
My 2005 infiniti g35 sedan's dashboard seems to be melting. I live in florida. During afternoon's, i see the dash is all shiny and sticky when touched. I get a glare when driving certain directions. I have another vehicle made by another manufacturer and in the exact same conditions, and i do not see this issue. The dealership when contacted mentioned they would not cover the repairs and that i was solely responsible for the charges which they said would amount close to $4000. The infiniti consumer affairs when contacted, did nothing to address my concern. I am concerned whether this will pose a health-risk to me and my family. Please help resolve my issue.
Airbags did not deploy in a recent accident
2005 infiniti g35 sedan. Consumer found many problems with car and feels been fooled by dealership. *tathe consumer stated two days, after he purchased the vehicle, he noticed defect. A mechanic confirmed the air bag was not functioning, as the light was flashing, the tires were overly worn, the cd player was not working, the passenger door would not shut properly, the wheels were not aligned and the lower cat shield made a noise.

I have creaking and groaning seemingly originating from the suspension components of my 2005 infiniti g35. I am also noticing that the car does not handle as well as it did when new. I have raised this issue to my service center several times, the last visit i was told by a technician that infiniti has the stance that the noises are inherent to the car. I disagree and feel that these noises, combined with the decrease in handling, may be an accident waiting to happen. I intend to raise this same issue with infiniti.
The g35 coupe is experiencing what seems to be tire feathering.i started hearing loud growling sounds coming from the tires, it started at 11,500 miles and has gotten much much worse at 13,000 miles.infiniti consumer affairs said...and i quote "there is nothing we can do for you," since there is no recall on the car.the dealerships are telling me that this is normal since it's a sports car, obviously these people don't know about the cars they service or basic auto mechanic info.they did admit that the tires are cupping, but are not doing anything about it. The sound is unbearable and infiniti don't want to admit that their cars have a problem that so many people are experiencing.shame on them.

I own a 2005 infiniti g35 coupe with the sport tuned suspension option.rubber bushings on the left and right front suspension compression rods cracked causing severe misalignment and excessive camber.this caused extreme tire wear on the innermost 0.5-inch of tire tread on both front tires, and exposed and wore through the steel belts and radial plies on the left tire.the remainder of both tires' treads show normal wear with all four treads on each tire measuring 4/32 to 5/32.the excessive wear was not visible due to its location on the tire within the wheel well.there was no degradation in ride or handling while driving the car and no noise created to warn the driver.owner discovered the dangerous tire wear during routine replacement of front brake pads.vehicle has all stock suspension with kumho ecsta spt ku31 225/40-19 tires.owner is the original vehicle owner and retained damaged compression rods and tires for testing.the failure mileage was 56,960 miles on the vehicle and 33,788 miles on the tires.
My fuel gauge is always acting very wacky and is almost never displays the correct amount of fuel.my headlights are always very dim and don't seem like they need to be replaced. My suspension arm bushing are making a lot of noise.

Both the dealer and the manufacturer stated that because the vehicle was designed that way, there was nothing that could be done. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
Front tires feathering.at around 6000 miles, i noticed that there was an unusual amount of tire roar coming from the front.i have taken the car in for service to 2 different infiniti dealerships and both said i should simply "replace my tires and align".i have less than 15,000 miles on the car.the 350z has a very widespread problem that is similar to this, and as the g35 coupe and 350z share many components, including suspension, i am led to believe there is a reason for the similarity.
Manufacturer refuses to correct under warrant alignment problem causing premature wear of tires 10-15k milesflywheel drivetrain noise...manufacturers refuses to correct under warranty.
I have a 2005 g35 sedan.for years i have heard this creaking/squeaking noise whenever i turn into/out of parking lots and curb cut outs.i have heard this noise since 2006 and yet somehow the dealer never hears it when i take to be serviced.on my last visit a few months ago, the dealer, riverside infiniti said my compression rods were leaking and needed to be replaced @ ($900.00).in an attempt to research compression rods, i stumbled upon a site called g35 driver.com which had a headline that said 'g35 compression rods are total crap'.i read on and person after person had the same complaint about how the rods went out after 12k miles, they had the same squeaking/creaking on turns, more so on cold days than warm ones etc. The bushings are creaky and torn.my husband and best friend both have g35 sedans and have the same noise.however most men don't hear the noise until i bring it their attention.since so manu have this samecomplaint, i researched your site and infiniti to see if there had been recalls.there are none. I don't know if these bad rods present a safety issue but they most certainly sound defective.

Sunroof glass flew off while driving on highway today.sunroof was not open and hasnā€™t been used in several months.
Despite being garaged since it was purchased 13 years ago, being well cared for (single owner), and low mileage (just turned over 92k), the dash has multiple cracks extending the entire width of the vehicle. These started to appear about 6 years ago and have continued to extend and worsen.
When i start my vehicle it sounds as if there is some kind of blockage. Instead of a clear sound it's as if there is a cover over it. But i don't know if that has anything to do with the actual problem. So when i 1st start driving it's fine at least i think it is but once the vehicle gets warmed up all the way. I start to notice a slight smell of gas. As i continue to drive the smell gets worse and worse. So bad that having all the windows down won't rid the smell. I have had everything fixed on this vehicle. I've had the best mechanics look at it. I've even had infinity look at it. They stated it was the fuel camdner. It wasn't. I had the fuel pump replaced. The o2 sensor and tube. A few other things as well. But nothing will fix it. I don't know what this is. They don't know what it is. I get so light headed if i drive not to mention i can't breathe. I don't drive the car unless absolutely necessary. It scares me to drive the car. It's very dangerous.
Horn stopped working
Service engine soon, vdc off, and slip lights all come on from start up of vehicle. Engine bogs a lot, specially when slightly more agresive acceleration. I changed hid wire by pulling out the headlight unit and the next time i drove it this happened.
Exploding sunroof. 2005 infiniti g35 coupe. Driving onto expressway from entrance ramp, gaining speed, sudden explosive sound above head, no loss of control of car. Stopped and investigated and the entire sunroof had blown into pieces all over my trunk on to road. It was explosive.
Dt*:the contact stated since purchase while traveling various speeds, the engine revs while the brake pedal is depressed, causing the vehicle to accelerate. To eliminate the revving and acceleration, the brake pedalmust remain depressed and the engine turned off.the vehicle has been to the dealership multiple times, but the problem could not be duplicated.once while parking the vehicle, the engine revved and hit concrete steps and another vehicle. During this incident, the vehicle accelerated so fast, the airbags deployed.there was a police report filed at the scene and the contact sustained minor injuries.the vehicle was towed to a salvage yard where it awaits inspection by the insurance company..updated 09/06.
2005 infiniti g35. Letter sent from law firm representing consumer in all claims against the infiniti division of nissan north america, inc. *tgwthe consumer experienced sudden acceleration on several occasions.
Infiniti g35 2005.after coming to a full stop for at least a minute, i pressed the accelerator and the car did not respond in any way; no engine noise, no rpm change, no movement at all. Then i pushed the accelerator one-half way down and the car made a small engine sound, the rpms went up to around 1500 and the car moved a little. Itook my foot off the accelerator and pressed it again and it did not respond, again. I pressed one-half way down on the accelerator and it made a small engine noise, rpms went up a little, and the car moved a little. I took my foot off accelerator as soon as it moved a little because i was afraid that the car might suddenly respond normally to the one-half pressed accelerator and accelerate rapidly and cause me to crash. The "vvc off" light, the "service engine" light, and the "slip" lights all came on. The button that is supposed to turn off the "vvc off" light, did not turn off the light. I was driving in normal dry conditions. I parked my car and turned it off. Several hours later, i restarted my car and the "service engine" light came on, but the other lights were off. The accelerator responded normally. I will take my car to a nissan dealer tomorrow. There are other internet posts describing this identical occurrence with other infiniti g35s, and some owners have described a completely unresponsive accelerator while they were driving at 40mph, the other owners were told that nothing was wrong with their cars.
On 2 occasions while stopping at a traffic light the vehicle accelerated by itself. Had someone been walking in front they would have been run over by the time i was able to stop the vehicle. Car was brought back to dealer, and after 3 days of diagnostics they could not find the problem.i only had the car less than 2 weekswhen these 2 incidents happened, and i do not want to get behind the wheel of this car anymore . Told this to infiniti, and they werechecking with dealer ,and suppose to get back to me.
Since purchasing the car in december 2004, i have experienced three instances where, while coming to a stop at an intersection, the car seemed to accelerate on its own with my foot off the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal depressed; to stop the forward motion of the car, it was necessary to shift the transmission into neutral.after shifting back and forth between neutral and drive several times, with the brake heavily depressed, engine speed eventually resumed its normal level.in all three cases, the car was on a declining surface with the front pointing downwards.now, whenever i come to a stop, i keep my hand on the shift lever ready to slam it forward into neutral, just in case.i have reported all three instances to infiniti and had them inspect the car after the second incident.as expected, they found nothing and did nothing.
Wreckless driving
Dt*:the contact stated while at a stop, the vehicle accelerates.this occurs with the brake pedal depressed.the computer does not store any codes and the dealership is unable to determine the problem.updated 2/13/2006 -
I was driving on the highway at 55 miles an hour when unexpectedly, the car starts to make some noise then it completely shuts down the motor, the check engine light comes on,vdc off, and slip lights all came on.
I was pulling out of a parking space - put car from reverse into drive - engine suddenly raced to red line. My foot was not on the accelerator at this moment. Even with maximum pressure on brake pedal car moved forward to other parked cars and would not return to idle. I turned off ignition. Car stopped 12 inches from a parked car. When restarted, car behaved normally and i have been unable to reproduce incident. Very dangerous problem!
The dashboard near the windshield is melting causing a sticky residue which causes a glare when driving.the glare is so blinding that i hate to drive when it's sunny outside and is a major safety issue.i've read and seen numerous complaints online regarding my make, model and year but nissan is refusing to acknowledge these complaints and issue a recall.there appears to be issued recalls for certain models such fx35, m35 and some altimas but the issue appears to be much larger problem across the board. Something needs to be done before people start to lose their lives over this egregiousness and negligence and the government needs/should force nissan to account for this immediately before someone dies because of this.
The contact owns a 2005 infiniti g35.when attempting to activate the rear defogger/ defroster in the morning, it takesapproximately 20 minutes to begin clearing the window and it deactivates after 25 minutes.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they checked the voltage on the meter.they stated that it was receiving the correct voltage and was functioning properly.the contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer.the current and failure mileages were 8,500.updated01/11/08.*lj
On 3/25 at approx. 3:30 in the afternoon i was traveling north on the florida tpke. At approx 65-70 mph when i suddenly hear a loud "swoosh" and noticed that the shade beneath my moonroof was violently shaking. The shock nearly caused me to lose control of my vehicle. I reached up opened the sliding shade cover to see that there was nothing there. I pulled onto the shoulder to inspect my vehicle when i noticed that the glass portion of my sunroof was gone. At this point i really got nervous thinking that it could possibly have hit the car or motorcycle behind me causing a horrific accident. I called 911 who transferred me to florida hwy patrol. I gave the officer my name & location and he instructed me to stay where i was. After about 5 minutes he came back on the phone to tell me that there were no reports of any accidents or debris on the road. He informed me that it probably hit the ground and shattered. Whatever the case, i felt relieved and drove home. The following day i brought my vehicle to infiniti where i was told they weren't going to pay for the replacement because my car is out of warranty. Not happy with that i was given the telephone # to infiniti customer care dept. After going back and forth they insisted that there was nothing they could do because i was no longer under warranty. When i asked for a copy of my original warranty, an explanation of how this could happen, how this is not considered a manufacturers defect, and what preventative maintenance should i have done to avoid this. They told me that they would not give my anything in writing other than they weren't going to pay or take any responsibility because my vehicle was no longer under warranty. I will have no choice but to take this to litigation but i felt a need and responsibility to report this incident so that it could be addressed. If there is anything else i need to do please let me know.
