The car burned nearly 4.2. Qts of oil in under 4000 miles.massive number of users indicate same problem of insane amounts of oil consumption on various forums on the internet.this is most likely also a serious smog violation in ca and also is causing engines to blow up.numerous mechanics will verify that they have seen the same problem with engines blowing at under 100,00 miles do to excess oil consumption.i have proof of my last oil change and number of miles.also the amount of oil that came out of my car was less than a quarter of quart after only 4,000 miles of driving. My mechanic verified that there are no leaks. Please nhtsa! please investigate this issue further.20,0000 dollar car is basically totaled now. All dealers and nissan refuses to acknowledge the problem even though there is a high possibility they know of the problem and are hiding it. Also, the airbag light has been on for three years and no matter how you reset it, it will continually return to being on, indicating some sort of problem with the airbags.

While driving on highway at a speed of 65 miles when my car shut off; i'm blessed that i was driving on a two lane highway and maneuver over quickly without another car rear ending me. After sitting for 10 minutesthen the power kicked back in. What could be the issue......now the service engine soon light is on so is the slip and vdc light as well.i have been experiencing this problem for at a month while driving car cutting off.but this is the first time car completely cutting off and lights coming on (service engine, vdc, and slip) the check engine light is still on. My airbag light has been blinking since i took ownership of vehicle in november 2015.the current vehicle miles is 152,000.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact was driving 65 mph when the air bag warning sensor illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they confirmed that the airbag control module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 48,500 and the current mileage was 49,000. Updated 03/16/12

Flashing light

Complaint against "infiniti of beverly hills". I took my vehicle in to get the necessary recall for my passenger airbag. "passenger airbag light flashes on dash." perform recall p0339 g35 sab connector itb10-034. According to infiniti they want me to first pay to fix my passenger seat as my passenger seat switch is broken and will not move back and forth. This will cost me $300.79 to fix the passenger seat switch for the part. The dealership should honor the recall without me having to fix another part of the car. I'm not in a position to spend another 300 + labor charges to repair the seat as times are rough with work and finances.

The third brake light on the rear deck has failed for no apparent reason.the car will not pass inspection.they want several hundred dollars to replace the entire unit.i have researched online and found this is a voluminous problem for this model year.it was recalled and addressed by infiniti for the 2003 model year g and it is still a problem for the 2004 year.this needs to be recalled and fixed accordingly at the manufacturer cost.all these owners are not having the same failing issues without cause.i own two 2004 infiniti g35 sedans.i used to love both of them.this one has problems with the brake light and now the airbag light is mysteriously blinking for no reason!the other one has had issues for years with being able to put gas in and i have had problems at the gas station trying to fill the car!ridiculous!if infiniti doesn't do something ... I'll be switching makers.this one listed also has fuel presure regulator/damper failures ... While my other '04 g (with over 200,000 miles on it) has none.explain that.i live the real ... Between two of the same model year.fix the problems infiniti!

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the driver of the vehicle experienced a front-end crash into a tree at 20 mph and the air bags did not deploy. The driver was injured as a result. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was available. The manufacturer offered no assistance. The current and failure mileage was approximately 100,850.

In june of 2009, the air bag warning light came on.it was served at the dealer (replaced driver side air bag module costing $735.50).in october 2010, i was notified of a recall concerning the air bags on my car.no warning lights were illuminated, but i took it to the dealer and they made repairs at no cost.i notified infinite consumer affairs about having repairs made to the driver's air bag prior to the recall and they reimbursed my initial cost ($735.50).the air bag warning light began flashing again april 6, 2011.when i called the dealer, they said it was safe to drive and just bring it in when i could.i took it to the dealer on april 11, 2011, and they diagnosed the problem being with the air bag module on the passenger's side at a cost of $487.82 to repair it. They said it had nothing to do with the recall of 2010 and would not offer any financial assistance at this time (yet i was reimbursed for the driver side air bag repair after the 2010 recall).they reset the light and it is no longer flashing.i told them i wanted the repair and did not think it was safe to drive a vehicle with faulty air bags.they said they are ordering the parts and will notify me when they come in.they also said the flashing light would eventually come back on.i have spoken with infinite consumer affairs and opened a case #xxxxxxx.after researching this issue, it appears to be a reoccurring problem with this make and model.i can't understand how these issues are not related. I am concerned about the safety of the car if it was involved in an accident before it is repaired.i wonder if infinite is being forthright about the air bag issues.i wonder how many others are affected.

On august 30, 2007, i was stopped at a red light in my 2004 infiniti g35x and was struck from behind while stationary with my foot on the brake.the vehicle that struck me was traveling at a high rate of speed estimated to be in excess of 40mph.the impact crushed my rear bumper and trunk and drove my vehicle into the rear of the suv stopped in front of me, crushing my front end and inducing deployment of the passenger air bag although there was no one occupying the passenger seat.however, the driver's side air bag did not deploy in this collision, and while the seat belt restrained me, my arm hit the steering wheel, and i suffered musculoskeletal injuries in this accident.the car has been deemed a total loss.both the insurance appraiser and i have questioned whether a defect prevented the driver's side airbag from deploying.i have reported the incident to infiniti.

While driving our 2004 infinity g35 on the fwy going about 40 mph (the ground was wet)we felt the track control started to shift side to side, a truck cut in fron us us, which made my husband put on brakes, as he putted on brakes, the driver side front brake locked, which caused for the card to turn sideways and hit the center divider full speed.the brakes after they locked, never stopped the car, the only thing that stopped us was the center divider.the airbags never pop, as we hit the wall going 40 miles per hours.i have taken the car to the dealer recently and had the brakes changed (2 times in 11 months) and the last tme i tood the car i informed the dealer that the brakes felt hard, and they were hard to stopthey stated that the brakes will get better with use, and that's how it usually felt after the brakes were changed.the car did not drive the same, the traction was not working, the brakes locked and to top it all the bags did not deployed after impact.

Air bag sensor is not working air bag lights remains blinkingdriver seats motor not working

I'm astoundingly concerned about the safety of this vehicle.this is the second 2004 g35 i've owned and the first one i purchased brand new, owned 9 years, drove 230,000 miles and had none of these issues/failures when it was sold to a happy new owner ... Although it was a g35x.this is how i know these are in fact failures/defects in this second one.this vehicle has not experienced any recent damage or known problems, yet the last few days every time it has been started, the airbag light is remaining lit for an extended period of time before it decides to go off on the dash.it lingers and then finally goes out.it has been very rainy and humid here for an extended period and we are a state targeted for takata recall, but this vehicle is "not one" allegedly.i fear for my safety!there have also been 2 different incidents of performance failures while driving at low speeds (fortunately) where the car has completely shut down, the dash lit up with the vdc slip and other lights, no steering was available and i was stranded in traffic during rush hour.this is very dangerous.the car would not restart temporarily and i had no choice but to sit until it would restart.this was a danger to myself as well as others.this never happened in my other g with over 230,000 miles on it.the rear passenger window also decided to lower and raise itself on its own.it was taken to the dealer for this issue and the problem wouldn't replicate, of course.the 3rd brake light has been out since around 115,000 miles.never failed on my g35x in the 230,000 miles.this is an obvious defect on this one and all the other complaints i read.an led shouldn't fail like this or all these others i read.when it's a dealer only item and costs approx. $400 to be installed ~ it should be a recall.please investigate these issues and help us.i've had 2 ... Here's proof..

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35.while driving in reverse at 1 mph, the two side air bags deployed.there was no impact, crash, or warning lights prior to the failure.the air bag light began flashing after the failure occurred.the vehicle was driven to the dealer and is currently being inspected.the current and failure mileages were 50,000.

I drove to baltimore from dc and back with no issues, then turned to go into the alleyway behind my home. All of a sudden, the steering wheel locked and would not turn and all the lights on the dashboard came on, including the brake light. My brake pad froze midway down, stopping the car, but not budging, even when i tapped the gas pedal. I put on and off the parking brake, to no avail. I tried to move the steering wheel around, but could not. Then i tried to turn off the car and restart it, but it took me three tries. When i restarted the car, the brake pad started functioning normally again and the car has been normal ever since. Additionally, nothing like this has ever happened before.

I have a 2004 infiniti g35 sedan. My audio failed and a/c stuck . . . The same problem they voluntarily repaired in 2003. (service bulletin #03007a and nhtsa item #10001253) it is caused by a failure of the audio finisher circuit board. Because of this, i am unable to turn on the window defroster and have difficulty seeing through the windshield when there is condensation due to certain weather conditions. When i brought my car to the dealership in roseville where i bought it, they said they would check on it but knowing there was only 10 days until my extended warranty was up, they never followed up. I have seen many 2004 owners on line with the same problem but nissan/infiniti don't seem to care. This is definitely a safety issue as my windshield fogs up when i drive to work, which is always early since i am a nurse and af reservist.

Window goes down on its on when try to put it up just comes right down alarm goes on but dnt lock doors dash light cuts off at times when i accelerate vehicle starts off fine 2 seconds later feels like it locks up and just gets sluggish starts running fine come to complete starts and takes off slow lights come on dash vehicle won't start i pull key out ignition put back and starts up fine.

Inoperative/defective third brake light.noted multiple others complaints on g35 forums with same problem.

I recently bought a 2004 infinity g35x for my daughter. It was disclosed at purchase that the 3rd brake light was out but i figured that was not a dealbreaker, i would get the light fixed easily. Well, i contacted our local infinity dealer and was quoted $480 to replace a 6 led board!! what??after doing research online i discovered via infinity car forums (g35driver.com, x.infinitihelp.com, nicoforums.com) that this is an extremely common issue with these vehicles. The oem board is known to be a defective design. This is a federally mandated safety issue! infinity should be made to recall and repair these bad brake lights. It is the law that these lights be there and working. I sincerely hope someone at your branch will take notice of this issue and force the manufacturer to make it right.

Dt the vehicle shuts off and loses power in the middle of traffic. Vehicle was towed to the dealers 4 times, they said it different sensors. Called the infiniti hotline they said it should be fixed now. Had it towed the first time on oct 20, 2004. Second and third times a it would restart but very slugish.they picked it up. Fourthtime they came and took vehicle.

I had the exact same symptoms, and the dealer recommended the same parts to be replaced as affected by an earlier recall:recall id# 03v455000 - engine and engine coolingrecall date:nov 17, 2003model affected:infiniti g35summary:on certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor or cam position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process.consequence:this could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash.remedy:dealers will replace the crank position sensors. Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s). Vehicles involved in a previous recall campaign, 01v357, are also included in this new campaign. The replacement sensors used in that campaign are also affected. Owner notification began on december 22, 2003. Owners should contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.potential units affected:630000

Yesterday, july 9, 2012, while driving under normal conditions on a main city street the engine on my 2004 infiniti g35 just stopped running. Lost power steering and power brakes. Managed to manually steer the car off the road into a parking lot. The vdc off and slip lights and the check engine soon lights came on. I turned off the ignition and just sat there, stunned, for a few minutes. I decided to try to start it up again, and it did start and sounded ok, so i slowly drove it on home. After doing some research online for the next hour, i kind of figured it might be this defective cam position sensor, as the symptoms my car displayed sounded just like what so many others were describing, plus inifiniti and nissan had a recall for this very problem issued on the 2003 g35. I completely agree with others that the 2004 g35 should be under this same recall. This is an extremely dangerous situation to be driving and suddenly, without warning, lose all engine power. I will add that later that evening i had to go somewhere, so i took a chance that it would make it. It quit on me twice in the area around my home within 10 blocks. So, obviously i cannot take this car very far from home without getting this repaired and replaced. I took it to autozone today to have them find out the code for the check engine soon light. It's what i suspected, 0340, which is the passenger side cam position sensor. The very thing on the 2003 inifiniti g35 model recall.

Car faltered at normal traffic speed, threatened to stop running, shifted awkwardly, drove erratically -- to the point that the vehicle seemed a danger to myself and other drivers -- then was difficult to start once stopped.there was a recall for the same affected part on the same make and model and year, but didn't involve my particular vin -- this campaign (03v455000) perhaps should be readdressed to include additional vehicles.

Onmarch 11 my 2004 infinity g35x experienced a complete alarming system failure.the power steering failed, the brakes failed, in fact every component not running on the battery failed.the dash warning lights looked like christmas lights.i was driving at the time.fortunately i was on a side street, and not a highway.the dealer diagnosed a p-0340 codeand replaced bank 1, cam sensor.this vehicle has just over 41,000 miles and is out of the warranty period.i noticed on-line that this part was part of a voluntary recall in model years 2003 and 2005, but not my year, but also that the failures reported were at approximately the same mileage as my vehicle.this could have resulted in a catastrophic accident had i been on a street with more traffic as i had only brute force control over the brakes and steering.my impression at the dealer was that they were very familiar with the display of warnings on my dash panel.the diagnosis took very little time, the repair was costly, the experience was extremely memorable.

2004 infiniti g35 coupe: electrical issue in center of vehicle, the air vents, heat, defrost will not operate and at times come on automatically including cold air and causing film on the dash making it incredibly difficult to see. Was told by infiniti dealer this exists in over 90% of models this year and type and will be $5,000 to fix. Defogger and defrost vents will not work by manually pressing buttons.

Third brake light does not work. This seems to be a common problem in this model. Very dangerous to drive at night. The car behind you can't see you when you brake and can rear end you.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. While driving at 35 mph, the vehicle jerked and stalled. The vehicle was able to restart. In addition, the anti-slip, check engine, and vdc warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.

The led chmsl stopped working.

Stero and climate control into. Can't control stero from steering wheel. A/c stuck on high. Occurred while driving. I stopped , when i got back in car and started it radio and ac controls were gone. The month or so prior the cd player quit and radio would pop in and out.

I bought my 2004 infiniti g35 in jan 2009 it had about 135000 miles. About a month later my cd player said check cd. The radio and cassette player works fine. I tried new cds and clean the cd player but still didn't work. I call infiniti they said i may have to get a refurbished unit. I told them that the cd player should last longer than 5 years and that i had a 96 pontiac unit that still work. A week later i tried it and it was working fine until about a month ago it stop working and it still not working. I would like to know if infiniti could help me.

Audio finisher circuit board has failed causing failure of auto heat and ac control to function causing windows to fog creating an unsafe condition.this is a well documented issue and an extremely expensive repair.this has been addressed for 2003 models with nhtsa 100001246 and nhtsa 100001162, infiniti should recall the 2004

3rd brake light failure on all 03-06' infiniti g35 models.humidity affects functionality of the 3rd brake light and in some cases completely fails.

I'm astoundingly concerned about the safety of this vehicle.this is the second 2004 g35 i've owned and the first one i purchased brand new, owned 9 years, drove 230,000 miles and had none of these issues/failures when it was sold to a happy new owner ... The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the windshield defroster system, the heating system, and the instrumental panel lighting were inoperable. The contact had to disconnect the electrical system fuse in order for the vehicle to function normally. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

On their own, with the engine shut off, the windows will both power down. This will occur minutes or hours after the engine is shut down and the car is locked.i was told their is a short to the car body, most likely caused watercorroding the power window circuit assembly located at the doors.

While driving at any speed it will suddenly go into "slip "mode.the service engine, vdc off, and slip warning lights come on,the accelerator stops functioning and the engine coasts. This is extremely dangerous in traffic.there is an active campaign that i have included below on the same vehichles the previous year and some from 2004.when i contacted infiniti multiple times about my vehicle with the same problem they refused to include my car.summary:on certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor or cam position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process.consequence:this could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash.remedy:dealers will replace the crank position sensors. My problem is with the dash, where the heating controls and the radio controls are. When i am driving, the heater and radio controls just cut out. It gets very dangerous when it is raining, because the windows will fog up, and in the winter it gets very cold. ....updated 04/02/15

Recall number r2022 infiniti recall r3021there is a recall for some infinitis but not mine but im having the same issues as this recall a failed camshaft position sensor and failed crankshaft position sensor like on the recall above except my vin did not match the vehicles that were recalled although the dealership told me my vehicle falls into the make model and year of which the recall was made. Out of nowhere my car willshut off at high rates of speed and at low rates of speed without any warning my check engine light comes on as well as other lights and the code is for the crankshaft position sensor faulting and the camshaft position sensors faulting. The car can be in motion at 5mph or even at 70mph and the car will comnpletely die with no control over the vehicle as the sterring wheel locks up completely. Not sure why other infiniti g35 coupes were covered under this recall but im having the very same issues as the others with failed sensors

The contact owns a 2004 infinti g35. While driving at approximately 15 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart. The vdcf and the service engine warning indicators illuminated. The failure occurred severals times. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the cam shaft needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 196,580.

As previously mentioned and depicted copious times on multiple sites, my 2004 g35 (built in 2003 and purchased 11/03 w/ only 43,544 miles) stalls w/o warning. Engine and vdc lights show only after engine stalls. If idle rpms are increased to 1,000, to prevent stalling, the engine idle lopes noticeably.this safety issue has occurred both while stopped (stop lights/signs) and while driving 4 out of the last 4 times driven. Research indicates the fix consists of camshaft position sensor and crankshaft angle sensors.it is patently obvious that regardless of mileage (i.e. 100k+ or in my case 43k miles) the engine will stall, jeopardizing the safety of the driver and passenger(s) resulting from being hit by other vehicles, thereby endangering the occupants of any/all vehicles. This issue should not be the causal factor for individuals being hurt/maimed/killed due to an obvious engineering/manufacturing error by nissan/infiniti, nor should an owner be held responsible for a blatantly obvious manufacturer's defect's, by being required to pay for a system beyond their control and the sole responsibility of the actual manufacturer.please research the warranty and repair orders, as well as the myriad of the exact same complaints by consumers, reflected on on-line sites and forums. This should not be required to rise to the level of the air bags, exploding gas tanks, etc...resulting in significant injury or death. Respectfully.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. While pulling in the driveway at approximately 4 mph, the vehicle stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated. The power steering seized. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

I have owned my 2004 g35x outright for 9 years now. Bought it brand new in 2005. I have kept up all the maintenance, and have loved my car up until this point. I was driving on a two lane road, and decided to pass the car in front of me.my speed was approx 70 mph and i had not quite passed them when the car lost all power. The vdc light/slip light/service engine light all came on. Dash lit up like a christmas tree. My steering was non existant, and had complete loss of power. Luckily no one else was on the road!!! and i coasted into a driveway. Waited a few minutes, and the car started up fine. Fast forward to january, and i was driving in rush hour traffic going about 40 mph when the same thing happened. Luckily, again, i was able to get car to a safe place. The dealer said it was a failure on 2 sensors. Cam and crankshaft, the same sensors that had been recalled on the 2003 models and 2005!!!! very harrowing, and frightening experience. Also memorable on my purse as the cost to fix was $770, however the dealer was kind to give me a discount and a loaner car, and good service. Shouldnt the 2004 been recalled as well!!!???? seems there are a lot of other complaints with the same make/model and same defective part. I am glad i was not and that another car were not involved in an accident stemming from this defect. This car will clearly be out on the roads for awhile, as some might give it to their kids for their first car, even though it is 10 years old. I'm clearly concerned about the safety of this vehicle!

Was maneuvering a gentle right hand curve on a 4 lane city street. The car just simply died. Without the engine running the power steering was nullified and the vehicle wanted to continue in a straight line. Approximately 200 ft. Ahead there was an area with a driveway belonging to the water dept. Which i was able to wrestle the vehicle onto, out of traffic. The car would not restart and aaa was called. It was towed to the garage where the mechanic informed me the cam position sensor was faulty and the vehicle was repaired with a new one. About a year later the same thing occurred again as i was turning a corner. Without power steering or brakes i collided with the vehicle waiting at the light. Fortunately, my speed was 10 to 15 mph and damage to both vehicles was minimal. The cam position sensor was again, the culprit. Last wed. 4/29/15, there was another occurrence then again today 5/3/15, yet another. With the last two, the car was quickly put in neutral and restarted. Research revealed malfunctions with both the cam position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor were cause for a recall with infiniti but it seems everyone that had submitted a thread concerning the problem reported the vin number on their vehicle was not on the "list" that qualified for any action from the manufacturer. What??? if this life threatening occurrence is happening to literally dozens of infiniti owners, why is there a qualifying list???

Car will shut off while driving vdc and check engine light will come on brakes makes whole car shake when applying the brakes

The infiniti g35 2004 model will completely shut off when driving the car.i found out that the cam shaft sensor was the issue and the 2003 model had a recall however the 2004 does not.this issue is very concerning since the car will shut off while one is driving. This is a danger to other individuals on the road as well as the individuals driving the car.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vdc, the slip and check engine warning lights illuminated as the engine stalled. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Nissan just started a recall for stalled engine. My car (2004 infinti g35) seems to do the exact same thing but it is not part of the recall and i took it to the dealer but they said there was no problem with the car. Now, the engine stalls once in a while and you have turn the car off and restart for it to work. I called infiniti and they said can not do anything right now because it is not part of the specific recall.the car poses safety issue if it is to stall in the middle of highway, it will threaten safety of others including myself.

While operating my vehicle in a normal settings my engine all of a sudden just stopped operating while driving on a 35 mph road without any warning. I pulled over the side of the road and was able to restart the vehicle again. Fortunately there were no other vehicle behind me or in front of me that would have caused a bad accident. I immediately took it to the dealer and was told it was due to a bad cam sensor. The vehicle is currently in the dealer being worked on.

Hello i purchased a 2004 infiniti g35 sedan from star max in orlando fl east colonial drive i've only had it 3 days tops , first of all i left and the gas gauge isn't working or the speedometer , also my radio keeps going in and out my left window seems to go up and down when it wants too, my tire pressure lights on and my cars making a very funny roaring noise in the back. Also when i go to make turns ,my wheel just keeps turning on its own and hard to turn back straight it locks up . And i believe there may be a fuel pump issue as well i've spoken to several sales men there and complained saying i need to fix things the right way or i need a different car im paying $325 a month way out of my budget on a buy here pay here car that's not even worth it at this moment in time. Please someone help me i need to do something about this fast!

The driver side door lock actuator stopped working completely.one month later the passenger side door lock actuator stopped working.one week ago the driver side window regulator also stopped working. These issues are known defects to nissan/infiniti, yet they do not care to address these safety issues.

Car was being driven at about 65mph when it lost power and the vdc, slip and check engine soon lights all came on the car regain power but at less amount and was hard to start. Was taken to dealer. And was found to need a campos sensor.if this loss of power happen when passing on a 2 lane road i may not be writing this . The 2003 models had a recall i think this model needs one to. The cost was over 350.00.

Vdc & slip lights keep coming on car shuts off while driving & is hard to start because of this & slides. Sensors bank 1 & 2 have been repaired & still the same isuue again

1. Takata recall information site says my car's vin number has 0 recall.my car is over 12 years old, and i live in florida.any chance of it exploding in such an old car? 2. When ignition is started, on occasion, car has screeching sound when engine is cold and car is not in motion.does not happen all the time.also occasionally when brake is applied, it 'moans'.it also screeched recently when brakes were applied to stop when car was only going 2-3 mph.3. Light indicator saying either oil (or water?) is needed is constantly on, for years now, yet mechanic says nothing is wrong... Light indicator computer is faulty. True or false?

Was driving down the road about to turn and thenmy engine shut off and lagged then started again almost got into a crash, when that happen three lights in my dashboard turned on. The lights where the check engine, vhdc and slip light. This happen to me last year too and it was the cam shaft sensor

While driving my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan with 6 speed manaul on the highway- i suddenly got a vdc slip slight, service engine soon light.the car began to sputter intermittingly loosing power.i was able to make it to the side of the road and ultimately into a parking lot - although i was nearly rear ended when the car stumbled.this happened one before in sept. 2007 with my wife - in which the dealer replaced the cam sensor.

2004 infiniti g35 lost power when driving. Service engine soon light as well as vdc lights are on. It is hesitant to start after that. Has happened at least one time each during the last three times the car was driven. Major safety issue as the it has happened when turning at a major intersection. Luckily we were able to coast the car to the side of the road. Same issue exist on the 2003 g35 in which there was a recall for, but none exists for the 2004 models. Contacted infinit in which i was told there was no active campaigns for my model, except for the side airbags. Was told that this would be treated as a repair (subject to very high dealer costs) and not a recall. I have found many other post on the internet with the same issue for the same model and the same complaint that it is not addressed by infiniti. How has infiniti verified that this does not exist in other model, especially being so close the 2003 and 2004?!? this is a major safety issue.

The vehicle started hesitating and stalling for no apparent reason.i would be driving for variable amounts of time, from 5 to 20 minutes, when the engine power would just cut out.this was at stoplights, while doing highway speeds, and everything in-between, there does not seem to be any consistent reason.based on research on various websites, it appears to be a camshaft or crankshaft sensor.only the sensor, not any mechanical failure.this is a serious and dangerous flaw when a sensor causes your vehicle to stop working while driving in rush hour traffic and other highly dangerous times.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while making a turn at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted. The failure recurred on a separate occasion. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

I was on the side of a mountain road when suddenly the car started shaking and i lost engine power as well as power steering.all engine lights turned on.i looked this up, and it seems like many people have had this problem so there was recall on the infiniti g35 sedan, but interestingly not on the coupe.the recall is regarding the camshaft positioning sensor.i had my car towed afterwards to my mechanic and he verified the problem was this sensor as well.this car failure was very sudden and extremely dangerous.

I was driving normally through town at 30 mph when the engine just stopped and all the dash warning lights came on.fortunately, i was able to safely coast into a parking lot off the road.i put the car in park and turned car ignition to off position.i turned it on again and the car started normally.i put the car into reverse and the engine immediately stalled.i put the car back into park and turned car ignition to off position.i waited a few more minutes, started the car and was able to drive home.

First, on 07/28/2012, at about 60 mph while driving on the freeway, notice the vehicle's engine sort of stalled (saw the tachometer drop completely) for 1 second and resume operation.continue driving but the slip, vdc and check engine lights came on.continued driving the car to my destination, which was less than a mile from this incident.after a while, tried to start the car and it would not start.it took a few tries and finally did.decided to go back home and as i was exiting the freeway at about 45 mph (thanks good) the car's engine completely shut off (thanks god was exiting the freeway (don't want to think what could have happened with cars coming right behind me at about 70). Was able to restart the car after a few minutes and continued driving slow (on the streets) to my destination.the car nowstarts ok after a while but suddenly dies.took the car to a repair show and it shows a p0335 code (crankshaft position sensor). My mechanic says, very common problem with this cars.***same recall as in the 2003 model year***what are we waiting for, for some one to die in a car accident for nissan's failure to correct this problem that was reported in the 2003 models???i hope not.if i had children, i would transport them in this vehicle, ever!!!

Driving at approximately 30 mph and my engine stalled with all the warning lights on. I had to pull over to the side with no power steering and brakes. Turn the ignition key off and wait a couple of minutes to start the engine. The "service engine soon" light stayed on. The dealer ran diagnostics and detected a bad cam shaft sensor.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the service engine soon and vdc off warning lights illuminated. The contact mentioned that the vehicle also stalled while stopped at a traffic light. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the crankshaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Vehicile goes into safe mode without warning and slows to about 20 mph putting passengers in dangerous situation in heavy traffic on interstate.

While on the freeway, the car died with no warning then took several seconds to restart. When started, the vdc, slip, and engine light where all on. Car was taken to a private mechanic where 2 codes for the camshift position center were given. The car is hard to start and often dies during idle time. When checking on the recall, my vin was not one listed, however it appears to have the same camshaft sensor identified by infiniti.

Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s). Vehicles involved in a previous recall campaign, 01v357, are also included in this new campaign. The replacement sensors used in that campaign are also affected. Owner notification began on december 22, 2003. Owners should contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.notes:nissan recall no. R3022/infiniti recall no. R3021. Customers can also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the camshaft position sensor failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 01v357000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,006.

Excessive oil burning.when spark plug's were removed for tune up replacement, found one coated with oil. Loss of approximately 1/2 quart of oil per 2 week period.looked up forums found that many others have had a piston ring problem.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. When the vehicle was started, the check engine light remained illuminated. On several occasions, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the crank position sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,490.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the vdc, slip and service engine soon lights. The vehicle eventually was restarted and all of the light remained illuminated. As the contact parked the vehicle later, the vehicle stalled a second time. The failure recurred twice. The dealer was notified and the contact was informed that the camshaft sensor would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 97,637.

I was driving on 93 south in rush hour traffic when my car completely shut down.i was stranded in the middle of the highway.i immediately threw on my flashers while other cars were whizzing by me and called the state police terrified i would be hit and unable to move.after i hung i up i put the car in park and turned the key to off.after a few more minutes unable to bear sitting there, i turned the key in the ignition and it started.i called back the state troopers and was told to just get the car to a safe spot and call a tow truck, i had aaa.i did and had it towed home.i had it brought by tow truck the next morning to my mechanic who informed me i had a faulty cam sensor.he suggested i bring it to the dealership since these were being recalled up until 2003.i did and the dealership said it was just the ecm that needed to be reprogrammed.i insisted that i was concerned i couldn't go through another incident like friday night.they called my mechanic and called me back saying they would replace the cam sensor for $400.i think they should bear the cost of the cam sensor as this was no fault of my own and could have killed me.## vin failed ##

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. After awaiting fifteen minutes, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were unable to locate or duplicate the failure. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and all of the warning lamps illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure and current mileage was 86,000.

This car has a bad case of automatic acceleration. Since it has been doing this for the past 9 years, i've gotten familiar with the symptons. There are a number of ways the car will simply accelerate on its own and all of them occur when braking:1) while sitting at a complete stop with the transmission in drive and foot on the brake, the engine will suddenly just rev up to 4 or 5 thousand rpm.2) same as above but acceleration can be caused by pressing hard on the brake pedal.3) exiting freeway and braking, the engine will remain at the same rpm and/or speed up.4) (this is by far the most dangerous) when braking extra hard, the transmission will shift down and the engine goes to full throttle. This one has nearly gotten me a couple of times.the dealer has replaced the throttle, throttle body, etc. Nothing has resolved the problem. It is intermittent and incidents may be months apart.until recently, the dealer has denied that any other owners have experienced this problem in the usa. Owners have complaining about it since 2003 on various internet sites while the manufacturer denies there is a problem and has allowed it to persist for 10 years. Only recently has the dealer admitted other problems and stated they were afraid of what happened to toyota.briefly looking at entries on the nhtsa site, there have been about half a dozen complaints a year. None reported a fatality but then the dead are unlikely to file a complaint. If a tenth of a percent of the owners experiencing this problem filed complaints, that would be 6,000 vehicles per year are being produced with this fatal flaw.in summary, what do you do with a potentially lethal vehicle? sell it to some unsuspecting person and endanger their life or keep it and wonder when it will kill me? if the latter happens, we'll all know why.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the engine stalled while driving approximately 40 mph and there were no warning indicators illuminated. The engine was restarted and resumed in operation normally. The failure recurred twice and the vehicle would require several attempts before starting. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the cam shaft senor was replaced. One year after the repair was performed the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired for the most recent failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The failure mileage and vin were unavailable.

This car has excessive burning of oil and it is well known in the forums for g35 drivers.this is follow up on a complaint i just made.i had the car's oil changed with synthetic and always make sure it is changed every 3-5000 miles.though the car burned off nearly 4.25 qts of oil in under 4,000 miles causing damage to my engine, the oil light never came on the whole time even though there was no oil in the car.the mechanics i work with indicated that they had the same exact car and had blown 3 of the exact same engines between the two of them. This is absurd.please nhtsa please help consumers that are having blown engines due to the lack of cooperation by infiniti.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the engine stalled and multiple warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to restarted, but the failure recurred. The contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. However, the vin was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2004 infinti g35. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration without warning. The accelerator pedal became stuck and the engine revved rapidly. The brake pedal was depressed numerous times before the vehicle came to a stop. The engine was turned off and smoke emitted from underneath the hood. There were no flames visible. After restarting, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

This just started for me, i was driving along in traffic on the highway when all of sudden my car just loss power and wouldn't accelerate. Not yet stalled but going about 2 mph, i was able to get it to the side of the highway. It ended up stalling outwhen i stopped, i couldn't get the vehicle started, it was acting like it didn't have gas, but it did. A light saying vdc (slipped) turned on as well as the service engine soon. I experienced the total loss of power while accelerating. Needless to say i took it to the dealership. They charged me stating that it was all fixed but it did the same thing on saturday 9/12/15. 2004 is not a year impacted by the recall yet i'm having the same issue as the 2003 recall.

Car will shut off while driving vdc and check engine light will come on brakes makes whole car shake when applying the brakes

I had a low oil light and decided to change the oil and spark plugs. When i removed the spark plug i found oil pooling in the spark plug tube and saw an obvious leak in the valve cover seal. The oil level had reached 1cm above the connector in the boot. This can potentially cause an engine fire while driving.the valve covers contain bad spark plug tube seals.this allows a significant amount of oil to pool in the spark plug tube.when the oil reaches the spark plug boot it can ignite and cause engine fires at high speed.

The vq35de infiniti g35 engine consumes oil quickly.roughly about 1qt/1000 miles.this car was bought used in 2009 with 35,000 miles. Oil changes with filter and plug have been made habitually every 3,000 miles with mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 or 10w-30 depending on the season.i see that this is a common problem amongst other vq35de users on both the infiniti g35 and nissan 350z.this problem needs to be addressed by someone, because infiniti does not seem to be doing anything about it either.

This is regarding the infiniti vq engine and its oil consumption problem. I own a 2004 g35x i paid for and its sits with the biggest oil consumption problem due to nissians problem with the vq engines at the time of the make. Many people have this same problem. Very many people! i dont find this fair at all. I would like to talk to someone regarding this situation and come to a conclusion. Plz

Vehicle was in motion on a city street when the engine seemed to acquire a life of its own and sped up, unresponsive to drivers application of brakes for several seconds.as driver brought the vehicle to a stop, a puff of white smoke emerged from under the hood.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure continued intermittently. The contact stated that the failure only occurred during colder weather months. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling) but was advised by the manufacturer that the recall only pertained to the 2003 model infiniti g35. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56.

Was driving down street at approx.30 mph the car stopped like it has a massive heart attack the panel lit up and it died (not stalled )no movement not even to the side of the street...no warning...no check engine light..just complete failure ...found out by the internet there was a recall in 2003...dealer contacted and fixed for$268.00...checked with customer service would not replace the second cam sensor..let them know they were responsible if there was any further problem which may result in a very serious accident or injury...[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Car fire.. My car caught fire while in my office parking lot. I noticed a buzzing noise in my door panel when i rolled my window up. This may be coincidental , 15 minutes later while inside my office i notice my car in flames. The car is a total loss. I had never received any recalls for my car so something is terribly wrong. I was not injured thank god. The fire dep. Said this was the 2nd infinity in 2 weeks they have put out fire on.

In a little over year after purchasing my g35 sedan i also noticed that it began consuming more oil than normal. Ialso had to add about 1/2 of oil after every 1500 miles of usage. Oil changes were done every 3000 miles, i also advised infiniti of the problem but also was told that this oil consumption was normal. I advised the infiniti rep that my isuzu nor my nissan ever had this problem of consuming so much oil. A little after the vehicle began to smoke at start ups and began burning more oil. I immediately took vehicle back to infiniti and advised them of the problem. Infiniti new without even having to examine the vehicle what the problem was and would not honor any warranty repairs, stating poor maintenance. I had to repair the vehicle at my cost. Infiniti knows that this is a defect on most of their vehicles but will not honor the engine warranty and make repairs.i will never purchase an infiniti vehicle ever again. When ever i get a brochure in the mail from infiniti i do not bother to open the envelope, i just throw it away in the trash. Infiniti has lost a customer for life.

Driving freeway evening trafficat 35 to 50 mph.engine just turned off at about 40 mph and lost all power assist.engine would not restart until car came to a full stop and key was turned off first, was able to get to shoulder of road.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, smoke began to rise from the engine and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop, but the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure and current mileage was 125,000.

Car engine unexpectedly cut off while driving on the highway.no prior issues with car.was able to restart car immediately and it seemed fine.took it to get diagnosed - all fluid levels were ok but the computer diagnostic said it was the camshaft position sensor (p0340).learned that there was a recall about this specific issue for 2003 g35s (id# 48751) but my car is a 2004 g35.infiniti dealerships not willing to work with me about resolving the issue under warranty or recall notice, so i decided to chance it to see if it would happen again.it happened 6 days later on an exit ramp.engine cut off and was able to pull to the side before causing any accidents.this time it was more difficult to re-start.took several times and this time the "service engine soon" light stayed on.took car to another infiniti dealership and they also refused to work with me regarding the recall.the next time the engine cut off was 3 days later, also while driving.filed a complaint with infiniti consumer affairs and they also refuse to do anything about it.

Engine started to smoke at start up's on my 2004 g35. Had vehicle for about a year. Took vehicle to infiniti dealer to have problem corrected. Infinite would not repair stating that there was engine slug build up. Took vehicle to an independent mechanic to have second opinion. Mechanic found no slug build-up under oil cap nor in crankcase.i contacted infiniti consumer affairs to stress my complaint. No satisfactions or resolution to my complaint. Infiniti has a poor warranty on their vehicles. I bought this car new and i now do all my oil changes every 3000 miles using only mobil 1 5w 30w full synthetic oil. As of this april i have had the vehicle for three years and i am now looking to trade it in and get rid of it before any other problem spring up all of a sudden. Worst warranty i have ever had to deal with. I also own a mercedes benz and i have never had a single problem.

2004 vq35de engine of a g35 couple burns oil rapidly leading to engine failure. Many complaints from other owners have been recorded. Will have to get a new engine soon.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35.while driving between 60-65 mph, the vehicle shut off.after allowing the vehicle to rest for a few minutes, it restarted.the failure has previously occurred at lower speeds.the dealer stated that the crankshaft senor needed to be replaced.the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the dealer stated that his vin was not included in the recall.the current and failure mileages were 78,000.

Early after i purchased my car g35 6mt 2004 infiniti coupe i noticed a significant oil consumption occurring between oil changes.i proceeded to file a complaint with the dealer at the next check up appointment but was told there were no issues.i continued to notice the excessive consumption of oil and once more asked the dealer to take a look at it.the second time around the dealer said that there was oil consumption occurring with the car at a rate of over 1/2qt. Per 1,000mi.however, inifiniti refuses to recognize this as excessive, and claims the amount of oil consumed is within normal standards.they claim that a rate of 1qt per 1000 mi. Is still acceptable. This would mean that if i follow the service manual's 3,750mi oil changes i would be left with under 1.75qts of oil in the engine and in very high provability of explosion.these standards in my opinion seem backward, maybe 40 years ago those standards were correct.i've owned mustangs that have consumed less oil than a brand new luxury vehicle.up to this point there has been nothing done with regard to this issue, since infiniti will not recognize their manufacturing defect. There are plenty of other 2004 g35 that do not face this issue.i've continued to invest a considerable amount of money on making early oil changes, which infiniti will not cover, in fear that if i don't keep the engine in check i may be in danger of an engine explosion or similar.

I purchased a 2004 g35 infinity 9/2008, the car was checked 2 weeks ago on june 12, 2010 at which time 2 quarts of oil was put in, level was fine on saturday june 26,2010 coming home from pennsylvania car shut down had to be towed, mechanic states engine has gone up in vehicle, there was no oil in the car, i had no other problemswith this vehicle and have been reading about the oil consumption problem, this car has always burned oil at an excessive rate. The car has 120k miles on it i am left with no car and still owe 8100 on it as a consumer i feel that infinity owes me an explanation as to why this vehicle used the amount of oil that it did and need to know if they are going to assist me in any way.

On two separate occasions the engine stalled while driving 65 mph or more. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. On the first visit the dealer was not able to duplicate the problem. The second visit the dealer replaced the complete throttle body chamber. The problem appears to be correct at this time.

2004 infinity g35 coupe is burning excessive engine oil, i have to add a quart of oil every 1500--2000 miles.

I purchased a 2004 infiniti g35 in 2008.it all started after an oil change that i received in 2009 less than a month and a half later about 2000 miles of driving looking at my odometer. I heard a rattling noise coming from the engine, and while i was slowing down to come to a complete stop i notice the oil light flicker.i quickly pulled over and checked the oil dip stick, and to my surprise i showed that the low was very low, so i added 4 quarts to the engine. When i got home i checked the drive way to see if there were any oil spots in where i park my car, and there wasn't any oil on the ground.this situation of adding oil at about 2000 mile had went on for my next two oil changes.after which the problem has gotten worse to the point that i am now adding 4 quarts of oil every 1500 miles since the beginning of 2010.nothing has been done to correct the failure at this time seeing as how i have 108k, and the warranty has expired.after doing some research on the problem it seems as though it's a common issue with the g35, and that infiniti is reluctant in correct or admitting to the problem.

Evidently there are a lot of problems with the throttle bodies on infiniti g35 models.i own a 2004 infiniti g35 which i purchased new in june of 2004. I have 61, 300 miles on the car. My throttle body just broke and according to the forums this happens frequently and is only covered by manufacturer's warrantyfor 4 years or 60,000 miles.in 3 states it is covered for 7 years and 70,000.if the problem is that common, it should be a recall or covered under warranty for the 7 years and 70,000 for all states.

2004 infiniti g35 with only 47000 requires 1 1/2 quarts of oil between 3000 mile oil changes and infiniti states that this is normal.also rack and pinion steering had to be replaced.car still under warranty, but infiniti refuses to check oil usage.

I have a 2004 infiniti g35 and brought it in for my regular service and because my ac was not working. I was then told that my ac was not working because a pebble had flew through my grill and punctured a whole in my condenser causing the freon to escape. I was told this was not covered in my warranty because it was not a defect. But, in my opinion, this grill is supposed to protect the insides of my car from outside damage. The grill is defective if it is not protecting the insides of my car. This cost me upwards of 800 dollars. My grill should be fixed and this should be covered at no cost. I drive on normal roads and at normal speeds. This is a problem with the car.

While driving, ac came on full blast and i could not control it. None of the buttons worked on the unit at all.i have read similar complaints and their fix is the controller board or aftermarket radio system. I have an aftermarket radio/gps unit installed, but it still have zero control over ac unit. No problem with radio ever.all of this is intermittently. Sometimes i can control it, but it want last long. Don't know what will happen this winter, since i have only owned the car for 5 months. I'll keep researching.

I own a 2004 infiniti g35 and i was just told by the local dealership that the third break light needs replacement. It is an led light and has not even lasted as long as the bulb-type break lights. It is obviously a defective part and is a safety hazard and should be recalled.

3rd brake light does not work in warm weather, this is a safety hazard. There are many other vehicles affected and there should be a recall on this issue.

3rd brake light failure on all 03-06' infiniti g35 models.humidity affects functionality of the 3rd brake light and in some cases completely fails.

Center led brake light fails.this almost caused 3 close call rear end accidents.i saw cars came close to hitting my car via rear view mirror.i went online and saw many complains of the same problem in regard to the infiniti g35, the 03-05 models.

The third brake light in spoiler-less g35 sedans is a well known issue to fault after just a few years.over 50 owners of the vehicle have reported the same problem.it will either stop working entirely or only work at times with no known cause.

I am the owner of a 2004 infiniti g35 sedan. The high mounted brake light, also known as the "third brake light" stopped working on my vehicle 15 months ago. Due to my fear of someone rear-ending me, or the inevitable stop by a police officer, i decided to take action on my own. I replaced the original and broken led brake light, with an aftermarket led light that was purchased off ebay.i understand that all light bulbs eventually burn out, but led bulbs are not supposed to do so after twenty to one hundred thousand hours.i was forced to replace safety light on my vehicle, at my own cost, when inifniti/nissan should have provided a functioning product in the first place. The reason i complaining about this is because nearly 75% of infiniti g35 sedans from similar model years as my 2004, have a failed "third brake light". This is clearly an impending products liability case waiting to happen and action needs to be taken to prevent accidents from occurring.infiniti should replace all failed brake lights and also replace any aftermarket measures that owners have taken (which likely don't conform to nhtsa regulations) with new led brake lights.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the third brake light failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis where the contact was informed that the brake light assembly would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 42,000. .....updated 04-03-13updated 05/08/2013

I noticed my 3rd brake light was no longer working.i have noticed other infiniti g35 coupes with non- functioning3rd brake lights. I've been told this is a common problem that i believe should be addressed by a re-call. It is an expensive part and labor charge to repair. Please induce infiniti to replace these lightsat no charge to the customer.thank you.

Plastic separation trim inside head light assembly (both driver & passenger side) that separates the upper from the lower headlamp is cracking.the crack is getting progressively larger.if the crack progresses it will cause the plastic to completely separate and broken piece will block the light beam.

The third brake light on my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan is not functioning.

The third brake light on my infiniti g35 has failed.the dealership wants to charge $316 for the part and $120 for the part.this is a safety feature on the car and i fear getting rear ended as cars and truck behind me have had to brake hard at times.please require infiniti to recall this and repair these for free.

2004 infiniti g35 coupe headlight housings show cracks in plastic separating the low/high beam housing from the foglight housing below on both sides.this is a wide spread problem as reported by many owners.infiniti dealers don't wish to fix under warranty but will do so when pressured while dealers with customer complaints after factory 4 years or 60,000 mile has expired refuse to replace.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side reflector lamps failed to illuminate and were replaced on two separate occasions. In addition, when refueling the vehicle, fuel would spray out of the fuel filler neck even though the fuel tank was not filled to the full capacity. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 06e060000 (exterior lighting) and 05v555000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that after starting the vehicle the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the mechanic could not locate the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 173,000. Update 01/13/16 ma

Third (3rd) brake light failure1) no trigger for event.2) premature failure of infiniti's led third brake light, possible accident.3) light is inaccessible to consumer - dealership wants over $400 for oem replacement that has not addressed issue and thus will fail again.independent sources claim a single diode in the led circuitry is the cause of the failure.

Third brake light does not work. This seems to be a common problem in this model. Very dangerous to drive at night. The car behind you can't see you when you brake and can rear end you.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35.the contact stated that the brake lights do not flash when the brake pedal is depressed.a mechanic stated that the brake stop lamp switch malfunctioned.the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 05v555000.the contact feels that this is a safety issue because the vehicle can be rear-ended due to the brake lights not working.the current and failure mileages were 49,000.

Third brake light has failed on my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan, non spoiler model and have not been able to figure out what is wrong. I have heard of many others complaining about this same problem on this model.

Center brake light failing prematurely.

I'm the second owner this particular vehicle, and although i did not notice the problem sooner, the 3rd light on my 2004 g35 does not work (my car does not have the spoiler).what i did was purchase a used 3rd light from a salvage yard....and it did work (briefly), now it's not working.....so i'm back to square one.i thought that it was unusual, so i googled the issue and much to surprise came up with many hits of owners of this vehicle with the same issue.......since reading the issue others have experienced with the 3rd light not functioning i have noticed this particular vehicles 3rd light issue on other g35 on the road, more than likely the owners have not noticed the light not operating.........the whole purpose of the 3rd light is to be seen by others driving behind you.......it's an accident waiting to happen, i hope the nhtsa and infiniti takes steps to correct this problem.

Third brake light isn't working 100%, it only turns on the first few minutes i use my brake pedal. After awhile, when the brake pedal is used, the 3rd brake light no longer turns on. This has always happened ever since i've received the car and i have never seen it operating as a safe car would have it operating. Many of my other fellow infiniti g35 owners have this problem also. We would like infiniti to put out a recall and have it fixed to increase the automobile operators safety, and to also abide by the law with an operating 3rd brake light.

2004 g35 sedan rear third brake light failure.

Infiniti 3rd brake light working on during cold weather and off during warm.

Rear window brake light on 03-04 infiniti g35 sedan spontaneously fails. It will work 10% of the time, but most of the time, the light does not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. To replace the bulb, owners have to remove the entire backseat and rear panel. Infiniti says that they will replace the part at an absurd cost that does not justify the price of the part or labor.

The third brake light on my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan is not functioning.

Third brake light on my 2004 infiniti sedan intermittently works. Usually just one led is out. Numerous problems on different forums suggest problem with this year car.

Third brake light is out.

The contact owns a 2004 infinity g35 coupe. The contact stated that the bezels for both front headlights were cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed the failure. The contact also mentioned that the front passenger seat was loose and did not adjust properly. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures but the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 84,000 and the current mileage was 85,000.

There is a common failing issue with the 3rd brake lights of infiniti g35 sedans that was manufactured in between 2003-2006. Infiniti/nissan fixed the problem with the new generation (starting 2006) however they do not seem to response well to customer complaints for our vehicles.this causes potential threat to highway security.please make infiniti recall these vehicles and fix the issue. I have replaced the light once but it keeps failing because the issue is the board, not the led lights.thank you.

Rear center brake light(led) works intermittently thereby nearly causing rear end collision. Car came inches from rear ending me.had two warnings from local police.

The third led brake light is not working properly.got pulled over on august 28th because the officer said my third brake light wasn't working.i got the light tested and the car shop said they would test the light to see if it was the light itself or there is a short due to wiring.the car shop said the light worked so there must be a wiring malfunction some where in the car that makes the light work properly.

2004 infiniti g35. Third brake light is out. *ln

Third brake light failure in a 2004 infiniti g35x, which seems to be a common problem with other g35 owners as well.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35x. The contact stated that the third brake light failed. The dealer informed the contact that there were no related recalls to the failure. The contact did not inform the manufacturer nor was the vehicle diagnosed or repaired. The current and failure mileages were 125,000. The vin was unavailable.

Third light failed at approx 62800 miles 5/24/2013 .this is a well documented issue with this vehicle, causing an unsafe condition due to improper warning to following vehicles. This is a very costly repair and should be covered by a recall. To date infiniti has done nothing to correct.

Third brake light fails to illuminate. Research on the internet reveals that this is a widely-known defect in this and similar models, and that infiniti (nissan) has been made aware of it but has taken no action to address it. I urge the nhtsa to investigate this situation in the interests of keeping owners of these vehicles and other motorists safe.

I own a 2004 infiniti g35 and i was just told by the local dealership that the third break light needs replacement. It is an led light and has not even lasted as long as the bulb-type break lights. It is obviously a defective part and is a safety hazard and should be recalled.

Inoperative/defective third brake light.noted multiple others complaints on g35 forums with same problem.

Update 01/13/16 ma

The fuel gauge on my car has been incorrect for the past 3 months. It would suddenly dip down to empty even after traveling only 20 miles on a full tank of gas. The gage would bounce up and down and has caused me to panic many times while diving on the freeway. The only way to truly know how much is left in the tank is by resetting my trip monitor after each fueling and not to exceed 220 miles before my next refill. I have a cousin who has the same exact car with the same problem.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe.the contact smells a strong odor of gasoline after the ignition was started.in addition, she must refill the gasoline in her vehicle every two days.after filling the fuel tank, she noticed that the fuel indicator was illuminated after two days.a mechanic stated that there appeared to be an issue with the gasoline system.through online research, the contact discovered nhtsa campaign id number 05v555000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the manufacturer stated that her vin was not included.she feels that the vehicle needs to be repaired under the recall because she is experiencing the same failures.the current and failure mileages were 56,000.

I was filling gas on my 2004 infiniti g35 coupe. After filling the gas tank ($35 worth), i started driving off only to be stopped by another driver 100 feet away fromthe gas station. The driver stopped me to let me know that my car was leaking gas. After looking at it, gas was just pouring from underneath my car, in less thanminutes my gas tank was empty and the car will not start. After doing some research online, i read that there are recalls on the 2004 inifniti g35 (fuel leakage problems). However, after calling inifinity, they will not acknowledge the problem, but insteal indicated that there are no recalls and will offer to diagnose and fix my car for a fee. I think this is a major safety issue, as fuel line leakage could cause fires.please help bring this matter to light.thanks.

The medal bracket was cracked and makes the seat loose and move during driving. This makes the car extreamly dangerous. I have had 3 mechanics look at the seat and they have notified me that it was a failure in the steal bracket used to secure the seat to the frame of the car. I have also taken it to a infiniti dealership and they said it was wear and tear from the weight of the driver. I am the only driver of this vehicle and i am 6'0 & 176lbs. If this seat was the effect from wear and tear, then this would violate the lemon law act.next, this same vehicle also has a faulty gas gauge. This gauge does not accurately read the gas after a fill up nor does it ever go all the way to full tank. This was a recall on other model years from this manufacturar and was resolved. I beleive that my model, make and year was over looked for the fuel guage recall.

Fuel gauge on infinity g35 coupe (04) always incorrect.pumping fuel into the car also difficult as it usually doesn't allow a full fill up.

I purchase my 2004 g35 last year and about a month or 2 later i started to notice a strop gas smell. Didn't pay no mind to it until when i moved into a new apartment and walk out to my car an noted a puddle underneath my car and it was gas. I also noticed that when ever i fill up my car is when the spillage happens the most and i lose alot of gas until it get below 1/2 tank then it stops spilling ut but you can still smell the gas. I have turned it into my local infiniti dealership and they have yet to mention to me what it is. Just because there happen to be a small dent on the tank underneath they say thatis what is causing the leak. Just doesn't make any sense to me when it only spills when its full and not when its less then half. They want to replace the whole tank and charge me $1600+ to replace the tank. Does this fall under any kind of recall fro fuel leakage?

The fuel gauge on my infiniti g35 was giving poor readings on the car and would not fill up all the way. It was impossible to tell how much fuel i had left and i ended up running out of gas on the highway. I have researched this problem and there are a lot of other g35's with very similar problems. I only have 60,000 miles on the car, so this is obviously a defective part made through nissan. There is a tsb but they charge around $400 to fix it all when it is a defective, unsafe part.

Fuel gauge seems to drastically drop when car is turned off and then turned back on again. After a couple of days car will read fuel empty when it still has about a quarter of a tank of gas. When refilling car with fuel, car will only take about 15 gallons of gas and then register full again. This car has a 20 gallon tank.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph. The fuel gauge failed to display an accurate reading at any speed being traveled. The failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The dealer and manufacturer were notified which there were no resolutions. The failure mileage was 56,000. The current mileage was 80,000.

Unintended acceleration while stopped.

Vehicle was in motion on a city street when the engine seemed to acquire a life of its own and sped up, unresponsive to drivers application of brakes for several seconds.as driver brought the vehicle to a stop, a puff of white smoke emerged from under the hood.

When the vdc off and slip light are on along with the service engine soon light the car loses power when accelerating under 40 mph and will shut off while driving on street or highway. Car also stalls for a period of time when cutting car on. This is really dangerous for my family and other families. Please find out something soon also seen a recall for same problems with 2003 infiniti g35. So why isn't this covered for the 2004?!

I exited the beltway (i495) and the engine quit with no warning.i was able to restart the car and proceed.. A few days later i was driving and the engine quit again and the service engine light came on. I checked the manual and it said i could continue to drive the car.i took the car to a repair shop and they checked he computer codes and said it was a cam sensor, a crank position sensor or a variable timing control sensor or combination or all three.they thought that this was a recall item. I searched and discovered that infiniti recall 3021 was issued as well as recall 01v357.the dealer said that my car was not covered under the recall.the car poses a safety issue to me and other drivers.why isn't this covered by recall?

Gas tank never reaches full. While pumping gas gas station pump stops periodically even though tank is not full. Gas gauge reads incorrectly. Have to keep stopping and adding gas to make sure tank is full.

The hood on my 2004 infiniti g35x failed at the hinges. The hood is now elevated above the line of the windshield and will not close. The failure was not due to an accident. The hood was merely opened, and the hinges failed. I am concerned hat the hood will open or fly off at highway speed or be pushed into the interior cabin during an accident. The local dealership and infiniti refuse to fix the hood under the applicable warranty even though this is an obvious safety issue. My research into this hood issue has uncovered other owners with identical failures.

The driver side door lock actuator stopped working completely.one month later the passenger side door lock actuator stopped working.one week ago the driver side window regulator also stopped working. These issues are known defects to nissan/infiniti, yet they do not care to address these safety issues.

Driver's side door lock actuator failure. It appears many problems have been reported with these door lock actuators on infiniti owner websites and forums and the manufacturer (nissan) has failed to initiate a campaign on this product. The replacement cost for the actuator is $149-$220 with 2 hours labor at rate of $120 per hour.

Dt:infiniti g 35 2004.when in the car, and the doorsare locked either manually or electronically the consumer could not unlock them unlessthey were manually or electronically unlocked.the consumer could not unlock the door by tugging on the door handle.the reason he was concerned about this was because he lived in florida, and cars go into canals frequently.he is concerned that in the event of the car going into a canal, the system will possibly short out, and he would not be able to get the door opened.*sc

I ran over a dog which did bumper damage and some damage underneath the vehicle.while there was no damage above the bumper, the hood latch release, letting the hood fold back over the windshield.the hood was destroyed, both front fenders damaged, the roof dented, and the sunroof damaged.i was doing 70 mph when the hood covered the windshield!the body shop and insurance adjuster said the hood latch should not have released.

I stopped my my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan at the end of my driveway, set the parking brake, and got out of the car to retrieve an item left on the ground next to my mailbox. When i walked away from the car, it began rolling. The car rolled off the side of my driveway and into the woods, where it hit a tree, causing considerable damage.infiniti denies any responsibility for the damage, claiming that the brake is functioning within factory specifications. The following links offer evidence that the parking brake on this vehicle is woefully inadequate as delivered:http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?cat=&board=ubb25&number=67788103&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?cat=&board=ubb25&number=67563340&forum=ubb25&words=parking%20brake&match=entire%20phrase&searchpage=1&limit=50&old=1year&main=67563171&search=truehttp://g35driver.com/forums/showflat.php?cat=&board=1&number=293656&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&part=nothing has been done yet to correct this issue. The car is in a body shop to repair the fron end damage incurred in the collision with the tree.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that while traveling 35 mph, the vehicle lost all power with the illumination of the check engine and traction control warning lights. The engine was still running but the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 54,000.

Hard clicking noise coming from inside dashboard at start up.

The heat and ac controls pop on when it wants.the steering wheel left side which controls music volume and power also works when it wants .i'll be driving and heat turns on itself the right of the steering wheel works all the time cruise control also works just the left of the steering wheel and ac/heat whole panel

Several times when driving my 2004 infiniti g35x, the car will accelerate when i downshift in the "tiptronic" mode from 3rd to 2nd or from 2nd to 1st.although this has not caused an accident, i wanted to provide this information to you as i am not sure if this is the way the car is intended to operate.this condition would potentially cause an accident at an low speed (30 miles per hour or less) where the driver was not expecting the car would "lunge" forward when downshifting with a tiptronic transmission

Leak of transmission fluid.

The vehicle rolled back on its own when parked on an incline. The vehicle engine was off.the consumer was able to duplicate the failure on ice/snow but not on dry pavement.the second time the vehicle rolled backwards with the parking brake on.*tc

While driving, the transmission would not function properly. When picking up, the vehicle will hesitate in accelerating.

Reporting a sudden acceleration. Came to a stop (traffic light)suddenly the engine roared and the car took off with full speed. Hit a van at the drivers side backwheel area.the car was totalled. The insurance co.(21st century) hired an engineer who did not find any fault with the engine..this happened 2 times before.i complained to the dealer they could not duplicate the problem either before. Looked on the internet .several drivers had the same terrible experience. (allworldauto.com /2004infiniti g35 user comments/complaint) i am reporting this before someone will die.

At 260 mile transmission slip on acceleration clicking noise inside dash.*la

Clicking noise is coming from the left and/or right rear axle when accelerating from a stop. Clicking noise from rear axles. I took it to an authorized infiniti dealer and they stated they replaced the bolts and nuts in the rear left axle. The clicking noise still exist! it is coming from the left and middle rear axle.

This complaint is in regards to the 6 speed manual transmission.i have had the car several months and have noticed a rattle/grinding noise eminating from the transmission while the car is stopped and idling.the car must be warmed up and have been driven in stop and go traffic for approximately 15 minutes in order to hear the noise.when i depress the clutch pedal, the noise stops.i understand this is an issue with the "throw out" bearing in the manual transmission that has apparently been resolved in the 2005 model.in addition to the noise while idling, i have noticed a "clunk" sound when shifting into and out of first gear.the noise is getting worse, but is currently tollerable.the noise while idling is not tollerable.

Heavy vibrations from the transmission/motor when stopped and in neutral w/o the air on.feels as if the vehicle wants to stall when it vibrates.vibrations get worse when driven at high rpm's.infiniti dealer tech advises that it's a transmission problem but infiniti's corporate office claims its normal.

There was no crash or resulting injuries--but having a clutch which sticks may eventually lead to a catastrophic incident.the dealership addressed the problem at 50,000 miles, but it has since returned.there are many g35-devoted websites and blogs where g35 owners complain about the same problem, but it does not appear they have followed up by filing a complaint.many owners report the same sticky clutch problem at various speeds.for me, it's happening at any speed whether it is slow or fast.infiniti claims this requires a new clutch--given that the owners have had their problems at various points of mileage, i am not convinced this is related to the clutch itself.thanks very much.

The driver's-side shoulder harness portion of the seatbelt intermittently locks in position, making it impossible to reach the dashboard, unless the driver unbuckles their seatbelt first.i brought this to the attention of the dealer, orlando infinity, and they said the seatbelt was okay.i have hardcopy of their statements.twice i have nearly crashed, secondary to not being able to reach the dash during all too typical orlando driving conditions.i question if this intermittent problem is inherent in other g35 coupes (2004).please note, the incidents of the seatbelt freezing in a locked position are intermittent, such that the date below reflects when i purchased the car.

There has not been an incident but a serious concern. Front seat belt connector is so high that the seat belts rest against my stomach instead on on my lap. This seems to be very dangerous incase of a frontal collision. Not only woould the force of the belt be against my stomach, but is seems i could slip under the belt and possibley have head or neck injuries from the shoulder belt. The infiniti service department says there is nothing they can do about it. The driver side is worse than the passenger side.

Rear seat belts come out of bracket on rear of seat. This causes the belt to rub on the neck of passengers. This also happenswhen a child in a booster seat is belted in. My grandson complains that the belt hurts his neck.dealer replaced the brackets and same happens. Dealer noted same problem on otherg35s. Infiniti claims that changing the bracket is all they can do.

2004 infiniti g35 sedan modelproblem: seat trackthe driver side seat track is severely loose; little by little the seat began to become looser; too a point were it almost a rocking chair. Deciding that my vehicle is under warranty i took the vehicle to authorized dealership. Result i was charged $350 for them to review the vehicle and come to same conclusion that the seat track is not working properly and that it would require new seat track costing me about $750.00 and also that the warranty would not cover because of being wear and tear. I indicated that it was an safety issue and should be under the warranty for defect seat track. There's thousands of vehicles that are older than mine and never have seat track problems. Why is there so many seat track complaints? there is an issue because the seat track was obviously bolted down improperly or the seat track is not built under strong sturdy quality.

(abbreviated communication with infiniti)[me]i just recently purchased a 2004 g35.as i have driven the vehicle, it has become noticeable that the seat controls in the seat cushion exert pressure on my upper thigh to the point of it being painful if driving for any length of time.i asked the dealer rep. If there had been any complaints on this issue, and he said he had not heard of any, and he said that the 2005 model has the same design.i am surprised that this was not resolved with the new model year as there has got to be other owners with similar complaints.currently, i drive 15 minutes each way to work, and as i am sitting here typing this, i can feel what feels like a bruise on my thigh from the pressure from sitting next to the controls.i am 6' 0" 185 pounds and would consider myself to be of average build.it would seem that there should be some kind of retrofit kit available to remedy this problem.please advise.[infiniti]currently, there is no technical bulletin or kit available in regards to your seat control/cushion concern.we recommend contacting your local infiniti dealer to review vehicle concerns which may be addressed under warranty.[me]it doesn't appear that a claim against the warranty is a viable option.my purpose in contacting infiniti is to notify you of the problem hoping that this issue has been or will be addressed by the design team and a solution pursued.this may be something that is correctable for the current model year or a change in subsequent model years; or at the very least you could give directions on how the owners could remedy this problem on their own.this problem is a result of no padding in the seat area where instead there are the seat controls.in my opinion, this is a result of a paradigm shift to a bad idea.seat cushions are for sitting, not for hard controls.

Failure of drivers side seat frame due to cracking twice. Once at 26,177 miles on 8/8/06 and again at 60,815 miles on 5/20/10. The way i became aware of the failure is that both times it interfered with the power seat operation. I have been the only driver of this vehicle since it was new. I am not a big person, male, 5'8" 160lbs. The vehicle is perfectly maintained, looks new and all service records are available. Replaced under warranty the first time the seat frame cracked and replaced the second time out of warranty at the same infinity dealership. Inquired from the dealer if this was a safety issue and they would not answer. Contacted the manufacturer directly twice to get additional info and inquire if this was a safety issue. They said the first time that they would not tell me one way or the other. If they felt it was a safety issue they would self report it directly to the proper party. They did not respond to my second inquiry. This did not seem appropriate to me after the issues with toyota. I have saved the part from the more recent replacement in case further inspection was necessary.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe.while driving at an unknown speed, the metal bracket in the seat adjuster suddenly failed.the contact noticed that the metal was faulty.the dealer did not believe the vehicle was defective.the failure and current mileages were 34,000. Updated 6/29/09the consumer believed that a major metal support bracket in a seat should never break. Updated 06/30/09.

My infiniti seat bracket broke and it rocking back and forth like a rocking chair. It is vary dangerous and i have read several other reported cases including five or six reported on this site. I had the same response that one other had on this site from the infiniti dealer, the driver's weight. I too, am the only driver of this vehicle and this is my 4th nissan product including my last maxima that i had for 14 years without any issues. The dealer has estimated a cost of 1,300 to fix the problem. It almost caused me to crash on the freeway, and now i am driving a very dangerous car with only 47,000 miles. Appears to be a defect and not only an expensive and irritating issue, but a dangerous one.please infiniti, step up and stand behind your product. Its a great product, but the seat design (bracket) is terrible and dangerous.

Driver's side seat bracket becomes detached, causing the drivers seat to dangerously move around when the vehicle is in motion.when driving, this extremely dangerous situation will abruptly alter the driver's seat position by physically moving the hand and foot location, causing abrupt adjustment of throttle application, braking and/or steering, which can result in loss of control of the vehicle and possibly fatal injuries.

The drivers seat on 2004 infiniti g35 rocks.local dealer gives me the run around and wants me to pay $1200 for a new seat even though this is a well known/documented defect and should have been covered by warranty.i was still under warranty when the issues was raised but they stalled until the warranty expired.this is an important safety issue that infiniti is not handling it properly given the part involved is only about $130 tops.service bulletin num : itb02080 date of bulletin: ?type: coupe and sedancomponent: driver seat summary: driver seat rocks if you confirm: the driver seat cushion feels loose; ' "rocks" back and forth and/or makes a "pop" / "click" noise. ' usually when the vehicle accelerates from a stop or when making a turn. Action: replace the front seat lifter link bracket assembly with a new one-p/n 87463-am501.

Gradually the rocking in the driver seat has gotten worse. Now when i accelerate or decelerate my driver seat rocks forward or rocks backwards. I have contacted infiniti about the tsb they released: itb02080, but they referred me to my local dealer who said they would charge me 100+ dollars to diagnose the problem. I can see the broken bracket and have no need of a diagnosis.

I own a 2004 infiniti g35 sedan w/ 6 speed manual transmission. The driver seat rocks back and forth severely during acceleration or braking under normal conditions. The rocking causes difficulties when attempting to shift gears. The clutch and gas pedals can be pressed inadvertently causing erratic driving. I spoke with the infinti consumer affairs department and was told my complaint would be filed, but there is no fix for the issue. I was told i should go to an infiniti dealership to have the issue assessed at my expense. I called the nearest infiniti dealership where i explained the situation. I was informed that other customers had come in with similar issues and it costs between $900 -$1,100 to repair. This a major safety concern that needs to be addressed immediately.

The driver's side seat in my 2004 g35 sedan is becoming close to useless due to a "rocking chair" type effect. The seat has been doing it ever since i purchased the car. It has become progressively worse with the passing of time. It is now so bad that i feel uncomfortable driving the car any distance. It rocks backwards even when depressing the clutch pedal, never mind under any amount acceleration or cornering for that matter. Infiniti has issued a tsb for the problem which is in my opinionan acknowledgement of shoddy craftsmanship. They will not help to solve this problem. I feel this is a safety concern because any time i accelerate from a stop the seat begins to rock and it is very disorienting . I am very unhappy and i feel unsafe whilst driving this vehicle.

Driver side front seat motor/track assembly.seat stuck - does not move forward or back...seat motor assembly ignited bottom of driver seat...smoke billowing out of switch assembly and bottom of seat.(nissan service dept states that track/motor/switch assembly needs to be replaced.)

Car will shut off while driving vdc and check engine light will come on brakes makes whole car shake when applying the brakes

The third brake light in spoiler-less g35 sedans is a well known issue to fault after just a few years.over 50 owners of the vehicle have reported the same problem.it will either stop working entirely or only work at times with no known cause.

Brake calipers have frozen up have been replaced along with rotors and brake pads on four occasions.these same incidents were repaired on 6/16/2008; 4/25/2009; 9/12/2011 and will be again on monday 10/22/2012.this is clearly a vehicle defect that is seriously dangerous for any infiniti driver, the passengers and certainly any other drivers on the road. I strongly suggest that the nhtsa look into the matter.thank you.

Vehicle was in motion on a city street when the engine seemed to acquire a life of its own and sped up, unresponsive to drivers application of brakes for several seconds.as driver brought the vehicle to a stop, a puff of white smoke emerged from under the hood.

I noticed my 3rd brake light was no longer working.i have noticed other infiniti g35 coupes with non- functioning3rd brake lights. I've been told this is a common problem that i believe should be addressed by a re-call. It is an expensive part and labor charge to repair. Please induce infiniti to replace these lightsat no charge to the customer.thank you.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. The contact stated that he replaced the front discs brakes and rotors at 9,000 miles, 14,000 miles and again at 26,000 miles. The dealer and manufacturer were notified of the frequent need to replace the parts but offered no explanation or assistance. Updated 01/09/13*ljthe consumer stated the front padas and rotors neede to be replaved in a very short time. Updated 01/10/13

Front brakes and rotors needed replacement at 24,744 miles and again at 44,875.when i called the dealer the first time replacement was needed, they quoted me almost $600 to do the job.they did not inform me that in late 2003 nissan acknowledged a brake defect and extended the warranty to cover replacement of brakes and rotors under 36,00 miles.i found out recently that i should not have had to pay for the first replacement.the dealer refuses to reimburse my expenses since i had the work done at my local garege for a lower price than they quoted me.

I was traveling at 35 mph and i was hit by another car in the driver side door and i slipped straight about 100 feet and hit a light pole none of my airbags deployed and my foot was on the brake the whole time and it seemed the bakes did not perform as expected.

2004 infiniti g35 brake service brakes-hydraulic.

The foot brake depresses lower than the accelerator thus causing the motor to accelerate when applying the break.when breaking in an emergency, the side of my shoe caught the accelerator causing the motor to rev up and pushed our car into the vehicle infront of us.fortunately, we were going slow enough by this time and only the front bumper was damaged.no injuries incurred.

While driving at approximately 75 mph driver was changing lanes and the abs system locked up, causing the vehicle to spin and hit the center divider and flip over several times. The two passengers and the driver were killed .

My 2004 g35x sedan has 28k miles on it and i'm on my 3rd set of brakes. (90% of my driving is highway with little braking). The dealer advised me infinity knows about the problem and extended the warranty to 36k miles and that's all they would do. After just 100 miles of driving with new pads the wheels are blackened with brake dust. My last set of front pads lasted only 10k miles.

I own a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe 6mt with a problem with a front wheel rotor. One of the eight rotor surfaces is not with-in spec as with the other seven surfaces, and needs to be replaced as per infiniti techs.i have the model that utilizes brembo brakes and the tech and infiniti usa said that there was a recall for the non-brembo brakes and that the repair was my responsibility since it was a wear and tear situation.as i mentioned before. All but one rotor surface, and all brake pads were up to spec. My question is this. Is thereany addendum to include the brembo brake system to the recall and if not is there anything you could suggest that i could do?thank you for your time. Sincerely,dr. Leslie klein

I drove to baltimore from dc and back with no issues, then turned to go into the alleyway behind my home. All of a sudden, the steering wheel locked and would not turn and all the lights on the dashboard came on, including the brake light.

There was construction done on my st 15 ninth street last week cones were put on the street and then recently removed after. After work i pulled up to park my car and it sunk in a huge hole where the construction was done my car is now stuck and can not move at all it needs to be towed in order to move there is significant damage done to my vehicle and no telling what other damages will occur when pulling my vehicle from hole, i feel more comfortable with waiting for city to come and inspect and pull my vehicle out due to the fact iam not at fault and i will not be reliable for any damages that occur when pulling my vehicle from hole.

Recently i was traveling on the freeway, not under an overpass and there was no one in front of me. I rolled my window up and shortly after that there was a loud crashing sound of shattering glass, i look in my rearview mirror to see that there were a ton of black specks coming from my car. I cracked the sunroof cover slightly only to find a shower of glass and a hole in my roof where the sunroof used to be. I closed the cover back up so i wouldn't get anymore glass in my cabin or on me, found somewhere to park and inspect my vehicle. I found that the glass had shattered upwards (air pressure maybe???) either way, this should never have happened, i am now terrified of having a sunroof because why wouldn't it shatter again like that? it was one of the single most traumatizing events that have ever happened, i couldn't even imagine what it would have been like if the cover was open! i could have got little glass shards in my eyes andthe outcome could have been extremely worse.

2004 infiniti g35x. Consumer states problem with vehicle brakes *tgwthe consumer also stated the hood hinge was corroded, there were evop issues, and a fuel valve leak which caused difficulty in not being able to re-fuel the vehicle to its capacity.

1. There were no events leading to the failure. Vehicle properly maintained.2. Passenger side hood hinge failed. This caused damage to the hood and the fender. Hood does not open or close properly. I am fearful of hood opening under speed.3. Dealer and infiniti have refused to repair vehicle under warranty although still within the warranty period of 4 years or 60,000 miles.

1) no events led to failure, vehicle was properly maintained. Hood was opened.2) hood does not properly close, vehicles hood hinge pivot has bound, causing the corner of the hood near the windshield torise.this does not comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard(fmvss) no. 219, "windshield zone intrusion."consequence of noncompliance:in the event of a vehicle crash, the hoodcould be pushed back through the windshield glass, possibly injuring thevehicle occupants.3) an estimate has been gathered for replacement of both hood hinges. Old parts will be available for inspection. I will arrange for vehicle to be available for your inspection at your convenience.

Bought this car used less than 2 weeks ago and drove it back from chicago 6.5 hours. Car had a terrible tire hum/vibration which seemed to be coming from the front right and was almost unbearable. I chocked it up to maybe the tires not being rotated on schedule and decided to purchase 2 new tires for the front asap. I have had the new ones on now for less than 100 miles and the passenger side has already started feathering. So i figured it was an alignment issue, had the alignment checked, which was on point, and no issues could be found with the suspension during their inspection either. Decided okay, must be the tire or the rim so i swapped the front right with the left and in one (1) day (20) miles it too has started to feather and i still get the same hum/vibration feel and noise. The noise and vibration is pattern like in nature. So i decided hit the good ol interweb to research this and find that i'm not alone. Seems a good many of owners complain about the very same issue which isvery common with the g35 and it's cousin the nissan 350z. Apparently, it's acceptable and you're lucky if you get 12000 miles out of tires and the noise and vibration is just one of those things owners have to deal with. I'm sorry but i find that to be unacceptable! i understand there's maintenance cost involved in owning a car, new or used, but tires are not cheap in the first place and having to purchase a performance tire to boot only stings the pocket that much more. Not to mention a safety issue.infiniti should really look into this and find out what the real problem is and fix it. One shouldn't have to worry about tires going bad so quickly, much less have to worry about budgeting for a new set of tires each year or sooner because they're wearing to the point of concern of safety.

The heating controls and the radio controls workintemitely.the turn off and on buy it's self.it is very scary we they cut out and the window fog up and the heating controls are off.it gets very scary.

2004 infiniti g35 coupe (laser red)-hundreds on sand/stone/rock chips on hood, bumper, front fenders, roof, and front of rear wheel-wells.the vehicle has less than 15,000 miles on it and it rarely driven on the highway.two dealerships inspected vehicle and declined to help.sub-par paint to say the least!

My car has disappeared and it's been close to 8 months and i'm still unable to find its whereabouts can you help me?

Comming to a stop. The car rpm revved suddenly, could not stop it. Totalled the car. Happenned 3 times before. Other drivers had the same experiences(reference: allworldauto.com : 2004 infiniti g35 user comments/complaints.)

Dealer installed a new air/fuel sensor. Twenty seven miles later the ses light came on and the engine completely lost power in the middle of an intersection. The dealeship had the vehicle towed to their shop.then informed me that a codep2135 was detected.the vehilce had just been diaognostically tested and repaired.could have been a serious accident as a large pick-up stopped only about two feet from my stalled vehicle.i turned the key off and the vehicle started and had normal power, but the service engine light was back on.l

Vdc & slip lights keep coming on car shuts off while driving & is hard to start because of this & slides. Sensors bank 1 & 2 have been repaired & still the same isuue again

I own a 2004 infiniti g35, and repeated have had problems with the air entering the passenger cabin through the air ducts.intermittently the air smells "smokey" and at times the air is warm regardless of the temperature setting (when it is blowing air, with the air conditioning off).took it into the dealer a couple of times and they couldn't find the problem.during the same period, the car burned oil (with less than 20,000 miles).since then the dealer suggested switching to synthetic oil and the car no longer burns oil, and i very rarely notice smokey air in the cabin.

On october 5th, 201o i was driving in los angeles on beverly glen and stopped for a red light. My 2004 g35 infinity's engine raced while my foot was on the brake and took off at a high rpm and could not be stopped. My car hit a van right in front of my g35 infinity at the red light. My car was totaled by the insurance company.consumer stated rpm valve was replaced.

I have noticed that the air from the vents is heated no matter what the desired temp setting. I have also noticed that at times i smell fumes coming through the vents even when i am not in traffic. I decided to investigate where the air intake is drawn into the car, and to my surprise, the air is being taken through the battery compartment on the passenger side and the master cylinder compartment on the driver side. I find it unbelievable that the air being fed to the passenger compartment is coming from under the hood - worse from the battery compartment. If you remove the battery cover and look behind the battery, you will see the intake duct and the blower. This has to be a major health issue.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti g35. While driving various speeds, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle independently accelerated rapidly without warning. The contact stated that the failure occurred at least nine times. Nalley infiniti in marietta, georgia was made aware of the failure and requested that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 8,000.

Unexplainable/unexpected revving of my engine occurred at a stop light while my foot was on the brake.the engine revved up 5k rpm.no apparent reason for this to occur.normal route taken from work involves stop and go traffic with multiple stop lights. About 5 miles into journey home, engine revved at the light.averted damage by placing vehicle in park and turning ignition off. Car has peformed normal since incident 2 weeks ago.

While driving 3 warning lights come on (vacation, no slip, and check engine) then i loose control of acceleration. I had the check engine code read and the code is p2138, which is the throttle control/ pedal position sensor

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 208,000.

Car accelerated after coming to a standstill in parking bay ran over curb hit a tree. And went down an embankment. The passenger airbag deployed but the drivers side airbag did not.

I have a 2004 gs sedan with about 2000 miles on it purchased in october 2003. In the last few days i have had three occasions when the accelerator floor boarded itself with no action on my part to cause such behavior. On one occasion the car was in cruise control at about 60, and accelerated to 90 before i could get the car under control. Pushing the brake pedal did not disengage the action. The second time the car was in cruise control at about 50 and the same thing happen as i gently pressed the accelerator to pass a car. The accelerator unexpected went to the floor, with resultant very sharp acceleration. This time i had to turn the ignition off, and coast to the side of the road. The car would not start since the accelerator was floorboarded. Finally got the accelerator to break lose by using the edge of my shoe sole and the car would restart, and then behaved normally for a period of time. The third time i was not in cruise control, had slowed for an exit ramp, and then gently pushed the accelerator to speed up. Again the accelerator floorboarded itself, with very sharp acceleration. I disengaged the behavior by again lifting the accelerator with the edge of my shoe. One could feel a pop each time the accelerator was lifted with the shoe. Took the car to the dealer who has now had it five days. Says he has not seen this behavior and his position is that unless he can replicate it himself there are no repairs to make. I will not take car back until dealer signs a letter validating that i consider the car unsafe to drive and that he will assume any liability for accidents related to the problem. Expect that this will lead to an impasse with the dealer.*la

I experienced 'sudden' or 'unintended' acceleration with my 2004 infiniti g35 coupe twice in the last 3 months. I specifically was not pressing on the accelerator in either instance though my wife can testify in the first instance that i was not. I was alone during the second occurrence so there are no witnesses.the first time my wife and i were sitting at an intersection waiting for the left turn light. The car was stopped. All of a sudden the car's motor began to rev up. I pressed firmly on the brake so it wouldn't move and shifted into neutral (it's an automatic). The revs picked up and the tach was moving rapidly higher. I shut off the ignition. When the light changed, i turned the ignition on and all was normal. We continued on home. The only reason i didn't run into the person in front of me was because my foot was firmly on the brake. This happened in february or early march.on april 3, 2007 i was backing into a parking space. The car was in reverse and my foot was slightly on the brake moving from the accelerator to the brake and back again. Again, the engine began to race and i hit the car behind me -- not very hard because it was very close. My foot wasn't on the accelerator when this happened.the next day i took the car to infiniti. Three weeks later they can find nothing wrong. Because this has happened twice in three months, the car's unsafe to drive and infiniti agrees. I've left the car with the dealer and am waiting to see if they'll buy it back from me or, at least, give me something on a trade-in for a 2008 g37 coupe. At this time, we're out $36,000. Some people will continue to drive their cars with this problem and hope, as it's intermittent, that it doesn't kill someone or cause a terrible accident, i don't feel i can take that chance so, thus, i gave the car back.

2/16/11 infiniti g35 (2004) put intodrive and car would not accelerate above 10 miles per hour, drove 14 miles at that speed.next morning drove to repair shop, not infiniti dealer, and showed problem as code #p2128app sensor 2 circuit and #p2138app sensor>performed re: learn procedure for computer.car was then able to drive at normal speeds.

I experienced 'sudden' or 'unintended' acceleration with my 2004 infiniti g35 coupe twice in the last 3 months. The first time, in february or early march, my wife and i were at an intersection waiting for the left turn light. The car was stopped. All of a sudden the car's motor began to rev up. I pressed firmly on the brake so the car wouldn't move and shifted into neutral (it's an automatic). The car revved up alarmingly. I shut off the ignition. When the light changed, i restarted the car; all was normal. We continued on home. The only reason i didn't run into the person in front of me was because my foot was firmly on the brake.on april 3, 2007, i was backing into a parking space. The care was drifting at idle in reverse and my foot was on the brake. Again, the engine began to race and i hit the car behind me -- not very hard because it was very close. My foot was definitely not on the accelerator when this happened. The next day i took the car to infiniti. Three weeks later they say they can find nothing wrong. Because this has happened twice in 3 months, i consider the car unsafe to drive; infiniti agrees. I've left the car with the dealer and am waiting to see if they'll buy it back from me or, at least, give me something on a trade-in for a 2008 g37 coupe. At this point, we're out $36,000. Some people may continue to drive their cars in spite of this problem and hope, because it's intermittent, that the car won't kill someone or cause a terrible accident. I don't feel i can take that chance so i gave up on the car.

This is a further complaint relative to complaint 10047159 related to a new infiniti g35 with less that 2000 miles on it when three incidents occurred.the incidents involved three occasions in which the car suddedly and unexpectedly accelerated to very high speeds without a action by the driver that should cause such accelerations.in two of the cases the car was in speed control; in one it was not.2 of the cases:car in speed control at 60 miles an hour, foot well away from accelerator.car suddenly accelerates full throttle to 90 miles an hour before very severe braking can bring car under control.not only does stepping on the brake not take the car out of speed control, it does not significantly slow car as car continues to accelerate.second occurrence involved car in speed control at 50 miles an hour.same thing happens but i was not able to stop car as it rapidly accelerated and finally had to shut the ignition off and drift to the side of the road. Car was taken to dealer (infiniti of denver) on 11/14/03, and returned to me (car is actually registered in my wife's name, lois ringer) over my very strong objections on 12/1/03, with the statement that the dealer and infiniti engineers were unable to replicate the problem and therefore they would not investigate the problem further, based on direction from infiniti.the problem only occurs sporatically, so it is not surprising that they did not replicate the problem in the minor testing they did. A quick interaction with one bulletin board on the internet to see if any other owners of g35s were having the same problem revealed three other drivers having very similar problems. A letter was sent to the president of nissan america (which owns infiniti) on 11/14 to no avail. The similar problems of the other three owners are documented on the edmonds.com website.go to the web site, go to town hall, infiniti g35 owners, problems & solutions, citations 967, 334, and 751.

I experienced two unintended acceleration incidents with my vehicle.

While traveling on the hwy the cruise control on my vehicle dis-engaged numerous times on its own. To ensure that i was not inadvertently touching the brake i pulled my feet back from the brake until it occured again. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where they said there was nothing wrong with the car.

My problem is with the dash, where the heating controls and the radio controls are. When i am driving, the heater and radio controls just cut out. It gets very dangerous when it is raining, because the windows will fog up, and in the winter it gets very cold. ....updated 04/02/15

Driver side sun visor falls out of mount creating hazard.

The window motors and door lock actuators keep failing and have to be replaced, the laser red paint keeps chipping, the brakes make a strange noise every so often, and the air from the air conditioning vents is usually warm as other consumers are reporting. Infiniti refuses to resolve any problems with the actuators or window motors, although their mechanics have stated to me several times that there is a high number of customer complaints about the same issues with their vehicles.

My driver and passenger vehicle window's motor has continuously burned out or chooses not to work at times. I have re-placed the window motor several, yet it still does not roll up or down all the time. I have to hit the area where the motor is located on the door in order to get it to start moving, sometimes i will be there for hours trying to roll up my window when i leave the car. There has been a few incidents where i close my driver door with and with out a heavy force and the motor will roll my window down half way. I have concluded that the window's motor must be defective and hopes to write a complaint so that infinity motors can recall this issue and fix it, my window has rolled down during rainy season, and it is quite uncomfortable to drive in wet leather seats.
