My 2006 infiniti dashboard started to develop bubbles approximately 4 years ago.they have progressively gotten worse over time.i just found out that infiniti extended the warranty to 8 years but i was never notified by them or the local dealership.in essence they were hiding the fact that they offered a no charge fix.this is a manufacturing problem that could affect the deployment of the passenger airbag since that is the area involved.my warranty expired 6 months ago and since i was never notified i am now left to pay for the fix on my own.infiniti usa and my local dealership are unwilling to cover the expense of the repair.

I received a letter in the mail from infiniti indicating an important safety recall of the passenger side airbag. The letter indicated i would receive a second notice soon. I waited two weeks and did notreceive an additional notice. I called the main national consumer affairs department and a case was opened. I have since called five additional times and received no call back.nothing has been done to correct this important recall. My case number is: [xxx].this has happened in the past regarding the bubbling of my dashboard. This also was a recall and when i finally called because i did not receive a notice of this problem, i was told that recall had expired so i no longer could take advantage of it.i continue to get the runaround every single time i call or email. I can never get answers or anything fixed.this is incredibly frustrating especially when the letter indicated that passengers should not ride in the passenger seat because of this recalland danger. Again i have not heard anything from infiniti as promised or when i have called.the last time i spoke with a representative was on september 8. Please help. Thank you.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recallsee attached notification received in august of 2016. Note red and underlined areas.infiniti advised owners to handle this recall in an unacceptable way for two reasons1.airbag deployment while driving is likely to cause a wreck which could endanger others unrelated to the recall2.metal pieces would not just hit the passenger seat, they would go throughout the vehiclethe first of my many calls to infiniti ended with no solution, no plan for loaner carsor replacement and saying they had really been hit by surprise.the second call i got a case number and was told all of my calls were being recorded.i received a call from infiniti that they had an interim fix, to call my service manager and ask for it.but, that when the real replacement part was available, they would have to replace the interim one with it.my service agent told me, he can't do it because it's the same part that's in the car now.it's activity to appear they are doing something.infiniti confirmed it being the same part.each person has a different spin, from asking how many miles my car has on it to telling me the interim part won't cause harm if the airbags are deployed in an accident (even just a fender bender) because they put bubble wrap around it.infiniti is not communicating, not being honest and endangering many lives.their unethical business practices leave no doubt that they are trying to hide what they are doing from nhtsa too.as the sole guardian of a 9 year old, i pray nothing happens to me when i drive the car to work every day and it's hard to explain why she can't go somewhere because she can't ride in my car anymore.i don't have the money to trash the car and start over but i do have the morals and values that keep me from selling it to someone else.someone has got to step in and make infiniti do the right thing.

2006 infiniti fx35.consumer writes in regards to vehicle muffler and heat shield covering catalytic converter corrosion and rust.the consumer was informed the muffler rusting and the heat shield falling off, was due to moisture and environment conditions. The consumer stated a few weeks ago, his wife found piece of metal under the vehicle, in their driveway, which was badly rusted.the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, where it was confirmed the part came from the heat shield covering catalytic converter, and not having the part could cause a fire and create heat inside the vehicle. It could not be repaired, so therefore, the consumer had to purchase the whole piece, which was very expensive. He was informed the other parts would eventually fall off as well. Infiniti agreed to pay for the repair only, and the consumer would be responsible for the parts. The repair was $200 and the parts were $2,000. Updated 08/15/13updated 08/21/13

Seat (driver's) adjustment/ movement (back & forth) has a scary 'kink/twist/wiggle'.i fear that the seat may become dislodged from it's rail/track, while driving.also, the passenger side front electric window lift does not close, but reopens about 2-inches when the window lift button is released.
The driver seat power function failed, resulting in the ability to move the seat adequately to reach gas and brake pedals. Upon inspection by the dealer, they indicated that the plastic gear track was faulty. The fix for this issue costs $1200-1300 since they must replace the entire seat power component instead.

The right front tire would seem to have the wobbly sound and feel after going 15 miles an hour. I believe this problem is the same recall of 11/14/2003 and now happening to my 2006 fx35 infiniti suv where the service brakes, hydraulic foundation component:disc;caliper.the front brake caliper mounting bolts may not be adequately tightened, this could result in one or both of the caliper mounting bolts loosening. If this occurs, it would allow the caliper to rotate or separate from its mounting bracket. This could cause the brake to fail, reducing the vehicle's ability to stop, it could also damage the wheel, causing the tire to go flat.either one of these conditions could result in a crash.

The dash is bubbling. Called infinity. They had a recall before i bought the vehicle for a replacement dash but will not cover it now.
My 2006 fx 35 dashboard has bubbled.it is so ugly that we had to buy a covering to cover it up.i am very disappointed that this is happening to a car that we spent a lot of $ on and is supposed to be a "luxury" car -- my husband goggled and found there was a recall in 2015 on 2006 infinity fx 35 and also found that infiniti admitted to using a poor material on their dashboards which was the reason they are all completely falling apart and bubbling up. [xxx]called immediately to see how we could go about getting the vehicle fixed and was advised the recall expired in 2015 -- and that a letter was never sent to me, it went to the original owner (we bought it in 2015) and there was nothing they would do for us. This is the worst customer service we have ever received -- infiniti should take pride in their vehicles and should own their mistake and pay for all customers who have been affected -- they then asked him which infiniti dealer he went to for servicing to which he replied i have gone to the one in annapolis, maryland. To replace this dashboard, it will cost around $1,500 or more -- i will never purchase another infiniti again if infiniti doesn't do the right thing and help out their customers -- inadequate notifications were sent out and were never followed up on, i was never advised anything of this by my local dealer, and now i am being left to pick up the pieces financially. I am disgusted by the poor customer service we have received and the unwillingness to help us as i am not a "valuable enough customer" since i don't utilize the dealership for my services -- if infiniti doesn't do the right thing and pay for the dashboard that was destroyed by their poor materials that they used, not because of the fault of its drivers, sincerely,[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2006 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the dashboard contained bubbles and was deteriorating. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,100.updated 12/09/14*lj
The contact owns a 2006 infiniti fx35. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the dashboard began to peel and bubble up. In addition, the sun glared onto the dashboard and the chrome pieces, which obstructed the contact's view of the road. Sewell infiniti in dallas, texas was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle had a warranty defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with case number: 252-49072. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000.
The dashboard of the vehicle has started to melt/bubble up.this has resulted in a very shiny/sticky dash which on sunny days reflects light back up onto the inside of the windshield creating a very distracting/obstructing glare making it difficult to see the road. Infinity extended their warranty from 2010 up to 2014 to replace the dashboard but will now do nothing to correct this safety hazard even though it did not appear on my car till this year.
The contact owns a 2006 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the dashboard had melted and caused a glare on the windshield when driving during the daytime during bright sunlight. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
The contact owns a 2006 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the rear lift gate door no longer stayed open. The contact was told that she should hold the door open instead of allowing it to stay open on its own. The dealer stated that the shocks on the rear door have failed. The failure and current mileages were 34000.

I am the second owner of this vehicle. The dashboard has been melting since 2012. I took my vehicle into a new orleans infinitidealership who told me to contact the manufacturer because there was a recall on the bubbled melting dashboards. I called the manufacturer in 2012 and they told me that the recall had expired. I asked them why didn't i get a notification they stated that the notification went to the original owner. At this time they updated their system with my address and contact into. I tried again in 2016 they told me the same thing, that it expired. I tried again august 2018 and was told that the recall was extended but once again it expired in 2014, this is very frustrating because i called in 2012 and was told i no longer qualified only to find out that it was extended and i still wasn't notified of the extension. My 'luxury' leather seats have also begun cracking and tearing up. I am so displeased with this experience. I have owed my vehicle for 8 years and will never purchase another infiniti, this is a luxury brand vehicle and i am very embarrassed to ridearound with anyone in my vehicle because this is always the first question people ask about....what happened to your dashboard?? please help me get this resolved.
Dashboard has bubbles all over it producing a terrible glare when driving in the daylight or at nighttime creating a driving hazard.infinity has admitted it is a defect but refuses to repair it.

After driving about 20 minutes, the intelligent cruise control starts to malfunction.it first will shut itself off randomly.from there it gets worse, reactivating the cruise control causes the car to sometimes "see" cars that are not there and applies brakes to stop the vehicle on the freeway, or even worse (and more often) does not "see" cars that are there and continues to drive on a collision course, until i'm just feet from the cars bumper and hit the brakes.if i do not take action the car will crash into others.i tried to get this repaired, but infiniti has not been able to correct it and i am attempting to get it repaired again on my 3 month old 2006 infiniti fx 35.this has been filmed on video tape and has happened dozens of times.this could easily cause injuries or death - a copy of the dvd can be sent if requested.
