My vehicle is on the list for airbag defect but not on the list for replacement. You state that replacement is centered in regions with warm temperature that cause the airbags to deploy without warning that in itself doesn't make sense because the main reason for the recall is because pieces of metal fragments are deployed when the airbag misfires and people have died because those sharp fragments are deployed outward in a high rate of speed so what's going on your suppose to lookout for are safety but it seems from your action so far that you care more for these companies that keep using cheap parts sacrificing safety ????????????

It is impossible to remove child seat from the infiniti fx when using the latch system.

Trunk, passenger door, and rear passenger door do not lock unlock when using remote and/or controls on drivers door this is a safety issue as not being able to lock doors after entering the vehicle leaves the passengers and driver exposed to car jacking or other dangerous crimes. Started at 47,500 miles. Dealer said $500 per door to replace defective actuators.

Electric door activators don't work in warm weather creating a safety issue on access to vehicle as only driver door has key unlock capability.2004 infiniti fx35.this is intermittent on all doors and have replaced some actuators with problem persisting.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the electronic key system failed and was unable to lock the doors. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic door activator failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting and bubbles appeared. The contact was concerned that the failure could cause the air bags to be exposed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 72,000.

I bought my car at 52,000 miles and had a minimal warranty still in place. I noticed that a few months after the purchase date my car locks started acting up. Unfortunately, by the time i brought it to the dealer the warranty was up...stupid me! they wouldn't lock sometimes, or unlock when using the remote, or manually pressing the buttons not he doors. They would almost get stuck, because i could here a sound, but they weren't moving back and fourth. Several times i would load groceries into my trunk, and upon getting home the hatch would not reopen. It appears as if there is a short or glitch somewhere along the line, however several mechanics say it sounds like all of the actuators are going bad on me. Each door actuator is over $250 a piece, and the hatch is over $400. It is really a shame, because i love road trips, and i am always hesitant to use my trunk because there isn't any other way of opening the hatch. I'm really irate that upon investigating online i am one of the many people having this problem....why isn't this expensive problem being addressed? it isn't like we aren't paying top dollar for a luxury car! its a shame because otherwise i am happy with my car for the most part. My driver side window motor is lazy too, but i have had that happen in other cars too...

The contact owns 2004 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the key fob failed to securely lock the doors when depressed. The vehicle was taken to nissan of muskogee located at 841 n main st, muskogee, ok 74401, (888) 532-5718) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the body control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no further assistance was taken. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

The door locks on my car quit working all of a sudden.this poses a serious problem when traveling with children as they could open their door.it is also a safety issue when all the doors cannot be locked when in a parking lot.this is an unacceptable problem caused by poor quality parts and/or workmanship and should be immediately recalled before someone is killed.

Always slip vds on

Trunk, passenger door, and rear passenger door do not lock unlock when using remote and controls on drivers door1. Having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2. Nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery.this failure is an intermittent of operation. Sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. In addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't. 3. In emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Consumer complaint concerning the 2004 fx35 alarm system.the consumer was informed that the windows in her truck were rolled down.when the consumer went to the truck she noticed that the door lock was broken and the inside of the vehicle was ransacked.several items in the vehicle was stolen.the vehicle has an electronic mechanism that when the door locks are tampered with allows the front windows to roll down automatically.

The dashboard is melting, its all gooey. Its melted so bad i cant even replace the radio.also the actuators randomly work and their are multiple complaints online but no recalls have ever been made.

My car would not start and we realized the + battery cable was not making good contact with the battery. We have never messed with the battery.since then the horn will not work.i took it in and it was the ipdm (independent p? disbursement module) and it costs $775 for the part.when a car is coming into my lane, or backing from parking space towards me, i have no way to warn them and protect myself and my family.i researched online to try and find a replacement part cheaper and came upon many blogs of owners of 2004 fx35 who have the same problem.

Trunk will not open unless you use trunk release inside of trunk door.

My daughter drove home from college and attempted to open the driver door.it was locked and would not open from the inside or the outside. If face none of the doors would open from inside or outside.she rolled town the window and climbed out.we took the auto to the dealer and they said that they had seen this before.. I thought it was a factory defect but alas $ 2,600 dollars later we learned that we must pay for the defect.i contacted infiniti several times and they refused to acknowledge that this was a problem.this could have been avery dangerous situation in case of an accident, etc because you could not exit the auto nor could anyone else open the doors.

Dashboard: over a 3 and a half year period of owning my vehicle, my dash has recently (and quickly) began to bubble.the dealership has told me that this is happening to all infiniti fx vehicles with black interior.i never used cleaners with checmicals that could have caused the damage.it just happened.i also am out of warranty based on mileage not years.driver side door actuator: my actuator has failed i do not know if that is common.

I do see multiple other owners with the same issues.please find my issues here.......issue 1: the gas gauge improperly represents the fuel level in the tank and the following issues are constantly present: 1) a full tank is never shown via the gauge 2) the gas gauge sporadically jumps around regardless of the amount of gas in the tank 3) the "empty" light comes on when there is as much as 1/2 tank of gas.this is very dangerous for me as this is my family car and i have a 2 year old son in my vehicle a lot and what if my car would stall out on the highway??it is a good thing that i am able to keep calculations on the amount of miles per gallon my car usually gets.i was going 30 mph and turned from a light and didn't realize my gas was as low as it was and my car stalled out, luckily i was able to get over to the side of the road.issue:2 the locks fail to react to the lock unlock function and the beep sound doesn't go off.

Battery continues to be drained by unknown source. New battery, new starter and new alternator have not resolved the issue.prior to this happening had the oil pan gaskets replaced to prevent a leakany thoughts

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the vehicle began shaking abnormally. The engine light illuminated and the contact took the vehicle to the dealer to be inspected. The dealer informed the contact that the oil wires that connected to the engine had burned. The contact was advised that the engine would need replacing. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 76000.

I started my car up on the morning of 6/1/12 and i notice it was shaking. I drove it around the corner and shaking got worstand the engine light came on. I parked the car. Called infinity discussed problem and brought the car in for service the sameday. Today i get a call from the services dept and i was told i need a new engine. I was told the problem was miss fire and oil build up, and it was unrepairable. And i should have gotten more frequent oil changes. In 2011 the engine light came on my car was reported that is was my cooling system. It was repaired. Nothing was reported that is was a problem with the engine. I faxed the services dept records from sears of oil changes. I went to several other places since 2004. But i have no record.

2004 fx35- black smoke comes from the exhaust pipes when the car is started for the first time each day. I have shown the dealershipvideo of this and yet they still are reluctant to admit there is a problem. My gas mileage is far less that the epa estimates. The transfer case has also been replaced twice inone year.

Consumer complained about exterior lighting problem.

Dt: the contact owns a 04 infiniti fx35. The contact smelled some type of odor coming through thevents. The odor smelled like mold. Thetechnicianat nissan stated that it was mold. The fog light was inoperative, the bumper was damaged, the leather on the seats was wearing.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35.there was recall work performed on her vehicle for the exterior headlights (recall# 06v328000).after the recall work was performed she has been unable to see more than two feet in front of the vehicle while using the head lights.the dealer stated that the head lights were designed to work that way.the failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 37,000.

-the contact took her 2004 infiniti fx35 to the dealer on 01-31-07 to have recall work performed on the vehicle regarding the exterior lighting: headlights (nhtsa campaign id number: 06v328000).the dealer replaced the head lamp assembly and contact stated that they only illuminate about 60 to 80 ft in front of the vehicle.at the point you only see a line and above that line is pitch black.the contact lives in a rural section where they are many roads with no street lights.the contact is concerned because she is having trouble driving at night.she can provide copy of invoice repair if needed.the failure mileages was 45000 and the current was 45700 miles.

- the contact stated while drivingthe 2004 infiniti fx35, the headlights will only illuminate the distance of about one and a half car lengths ahead. The road conditionswere generally clear. The contact had the headlights replaced due to a recall. The dealership advised the contact they would be unable to do any adjustments on the headlights due to it being a federally mandated recall. The vehicle currently had an odometer reading of 30,000 miles.

The gas gauge is incorrectly reading the fuel, and i am not the only one having a problem. Many others are.. Infiniti wants 800+ to replace something that can cause a accident because of a gauge? this should be addressed properly. More importantly, this presents a major safety issue by potentially causing a driver to run out of gas on the interstate and be seriously or fatally injured in a rear-end accident. I have counted at least 56 other 2003-04+ fx35/45 car owners on this forum who have experienced this problem. This does not include the potential thousands of fx owners who have experienced the problem but not reported it.

Fuel gauge does not read full when filled with gas at the fueling station. My understanding is the fuel sending units need replacing.

Dt*: the contact stated a recall letter, #05v555000 was received concerning the fuel system: gasoline.there is not a local infiniti dealership so a nissan dealer was alerted however they would not perform the necessary repairs.the vehicle has not had the problems associated with the recall.the manufacturer was alerted.updated 5/2/2006 - the consumer feels that she should not have to drive out of state to have the recall repaired.

Dt*: the contact states the nearest infiniti dealer to handle recall number 05v555000 is over 350 miles away in spokane wa . The contact called infiniti, to ask if a nissan dealership could do the recall remedy. The infiniti manufacturer determined the spokane dealership would have to pay the local nissan dealer to perform the recall remedy. The spokane dealer which is 350 plus miles away declined.the contact expressed there is no reason why the nissan dealer which is closer than the infiniti dealer can not handle remedy work since they are the same company.

2004 infiniti fx 35 dash board bubble , fuel gauge problem can not read full tank or empty tank.

2004 infiniti fx35 awd: fuel gauge faulty reading: the fuel gauge shows incorrect fuel gauge reading and low fuel light comes on when the tank is more than 1/2 full. The gauge reading can vary by about quarter tank at most times.

Failure of vehicle to meet gas mileage claims.

Fuel gauge reads incorrectly. As a result, the driver doesn't know how much fuel the vehicle has.dealer has replaced the fuel sender. However the problem recurred.

The gas gauge is always wrong. Since i first had it, the behavior of this component has never shown full, and shows empty far too early, often 6-8 gallons before the tank is out.i looked up my recall for my airbags, which this car has, and i noticed a number of complaints here. I searched infiniti forums and found a large number of complaints with recommended fixes. I cleaned the parts, and it improved, but now the gauge is off again, and this isn't safe, since i cannot trust when i will run out of gas. I also wonder about my odometer and what its reading. There seems to be something wrong with these indicators.

2004 infiniti fx 35 dash board bubble , fuel gauge problem can not read full tank or empty tank.

My fuel indicator did not register a full tank and would fluctuate randomly while driving or stationary, so i never really knew how much gas i had.i couldn't us the the fuel economy/miles to empty calculator because it seemed to be basing miles to empty on what it was registering, not the amount of fuel actually present.it all of the sudden fixed itself, and now the same problem has returned again. It seems to be a fairly common problem from what i've read - why no recall????

Issue 1: the gas gauge improperly represents the fuel level in the tank and the following issues are constantly present:1) a full tank is never shown via the gauge2) the gas gauge sporadically jumps around regardless of the amount of gas in the tank3) the "empty" light comes on when there is as much as 1/2 tank of gas4) the full volume of the tank cannot be filled because the fueling pump is automatically shut off by the tankissue 2: also, the car fails to start.after turning the ignition switch the engine will just rev without full ignition of the engine.it seems as if gas is not being provided by the fuel system during the ignition sequence.the fuel pressure of the tank seems to be the malfunctioning issue.

I have been having problems with the fuel gauge on my 2004 infiniti fx35. It will only reflect 3/4 of a tank when i have filled it up with 17-18 gallons of premium fuel. Sometimes it reads empty(light goes on and screen reflects *** miles to empty) this happens alot. This has been going on and off for over 6 months.when i called the dealer to asked them they told me i could bring it in for them to check but i would have to pay. Even though my warranty expired i don't feel that i should have to pay for something that isn't working properly.the scary part is if i don't keep track of how many miles i have driven, i get scare i will get stuck somewhere when i am out with my 3 daughters. This also happen with the m45.

The fuel guage gives a faulty reading.i can have a full tank, and the guage will read between 1/4 tank and empty, even prompting the red 'low fuel' indicator lightt to illuminate.

The rear hatch mechanism on my infiniti fx35 failed and made the vehicle completely accessible to anyone who walked by.the dealer is charging $450 to repair it, but when i check the internet, it appears to be a common problem.this is suspicious and should likely be a recall due to the safety of the vehicle being compromised.items may fall out of the cargo area with this problem and cause accidents on the road.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the rear door hatch motor malfunctioned and the hatch would not close automatically. Also, when the hatch was closed the hatch could not be locked. The contact stated that on one occasion, the hatch opened while driving 25 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer stated the lock actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 130,000.

I am a 2004 inifiniti fx35 owner. I had a right front passenger door lock actuator become inoperable, so had it replaced about 3 years ago. And recently, the driver's side door lock actuator failed, replaced it for a cost of over $500. $303 for the part alone and $216 for the labor. I know the same part costs about $35 at an infiniti service in other countries. I searched on the web to see if anyone else has a same problem as me and was surprised to find that there are a number of people, both nissan and infiniti owners, have had door lock actuators all around the car (including the rear hatch) fail on them. I feel that i have been unjustly charged for this part and labor as i have seen the same part get replaced at an overseas infiniti service myself recently for a cost of $50 with $35 of it being the part price. Why is it almost 10 times more expensive here? i am willing to go any distance to see nissan and infiniti fix this problem at their own cost without ripping their consumers off.

Vehicle: 2004 inifiniti fx35safety description: all four (4) door locks failed simultaneously. Unable to exit car until door locks were unlocked manually.safety issue: during an accident and/or vehicle fire, passengers will not be able to exit vehicle in a timely manner or at all. Significant injury or death could occur.

2004 infiniti fx35 automatic door lock actuators failing to unlock or lock the doors.this started happening a few weeks ago with the rear cargo door failing to unlock.now all of the doors fail to lock and unlock intermittently.this is a safety issue.i have not taken any action yet but if this keeps up i will be forced to spend nearly $2500 to have the actuators replaced.

Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. And the design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. I can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. In emergencies every second counts. The locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. Some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. This shouldn't be, infiniti should recall them.

I have a problem with my 2004 fx35 infinity - the driver and passenger doors and rear hatch will not lock/unlock with the key or with the remote, i have to manually press or pull the locks.it is a safety matter not been able to open or close the doors at will.

Some or all door locks fail to function, with no pattern of which door or doors will do it next.this only happens when it is hot enough outside (approx 85 degrees and up) to make it hot inside the vehicle.this problem is all over the internet, with nissan's and infiniti's and approximate years 2003 through 2007.the posts that i have read date back to 2007.

Electric door activators don't work in warm weather creating a safety issue on access to vehicle as only driver door has key unlock capability.2004 infiniti fx35.this is intermittent on all doors and have replaced some actuators with problem persisting.

I own a 2004 infiniti fx35 and suffer from what seems to be a common safety problem among other owners: the lock on one of my doors does not lock or unlock with the remote or the driver's side lock button! i must manually push the lock forward to lock it and back to unlock it.this started happening several years ago but only every once and a while, especially on hot days.now it is everyday no matter what the weather.many times i have locked my car with the remote, only to have my husband open the back door to get something and tell me that i didn't lock the car again. Thank goodness it has been my husband, myself, or other family member, and not a thief entering my car!my most important concern is now the safety of my 18 month old daughter.i always lock the doors when i get in the car to ensure that no one can simply walk up and open the car doors.because of the faulty lock, the back passenger door never locks, thus leaving my daughter (who is in the backseat in her car seat) vulnerable.to date, no one has entered my vehicle unlawfully, thank god!but i feel that this is an extremely serious issue that must be addressed by nissan and infiniti.i also have problems with my side view mirrors and the bubbling of the dash, especially around the vents.however, the problem with my door lock takes priority, and from what i have read online, it seems only a matter of time before it happens to all of my doors!i informed the dealership where i purchased my vehicle and they told me that they would first have to do a diagnostic test to find the problem which would cost me $140.i would think that after all of the complaints about the 2004 door locks, they would know the problem.a safety recall must be put into effect to end this. I urge anyone who has the ability to remedy this obvious safety issue to do so as soon as possible before someone is unnecessarily injured or tragically harmed!

3 doors on my 2004 fx35 will not open from inside or outside-this is a safety issue.first week in septi tried to open back door to retrieve my books, etc and the door would not open. I leaned in from driver side and noticed door was unlocked so i tried to open from the inside-it would not open,. My auto has only 46,000 miles on it. I took todealer and he said he hadnever seen this happen before. He kept the car for 3 days and said it took them all day to open the 2 back doors. He said all for on my acculatos(something like that) failed and they replaced them atcharge or over $ 2000.00. This is a serious flaw in the auto if the doors can not be opened from the inside or outside.what if i had been in an accident and the doors could not be opened?i firmly believe this is aproblem that should be addressed by the mfg and i should not have had to pay over $ 2000.00 for something that i did not cause. Rarely as anyone ever rode in my back seats as usually i am a lone rider or driver in the infiniti.

The rear latch door lock on my 2004 infiniti fx35 has suddenly become inoperable.i discovered this after i placed shopping items in the rear compartment and drove.i noticed the rear door was not closed after driving about a mile and had to pull over to attempt to close it.when i tried it would not close and the rear door lock compartment appeared to be stuck and keeping the door from closing.once i manually manipulated the lock on the bottom of the latch door to open it, i closed the door and the door now will not unlock.after research i discovered this was a nissan part called the rear door actuator that stopped working.according to my internet research this is a very common and costly problem for nissan owners and sometimes occurs with multiple passenger doors for some owners.i am grateful i did not have my dog in the rear part of my vehicle as he likely would have jumped out of the open door while in traffic.also, nissan does not place key entry locks on these doors so now the only way to open it is to crawl into the back of the truck and unlock the emergency trunk lock.i have no other options than to get this repaired for what the dealer quoted at $560.it is concerning that nothing has been done with such a common problem.please do something as i believe this to be an expensive and substantial safety issue.

My 2004 infiniti fx 35 door lock actuator for the passenger and rear door hatch will not open unless pressed several times and occurs all the time and i consider it a safety issue in a life or death situation, the dealership will fix the problem but at a cost to me of over 300.00 us dollars which is high price to pay when at this point in time economically is very difficult so i plead with nhtsa to consider it a recall because i am sure that i am not the only person with this problem.

My 2004 infinity fx 35 door actuator went out all four of them, this car is keyless entry. I have a child and it seem dangerous to use this car for our family anymore.sometime i'm afraid to lock it and worried if a fire or emergency happened ,i couldn't get out of the car. Or i couldn't open the door to get the child out.this is very bad and must be corrected by infinity.

I have 2004 fx35with 52,000 miles , my door actuators went bad so i'm unable to lock or unlock my doors, and if it locks then i cant get out of the vehicle until i try another door or something , it s a safety issue . North america infiniti doesn't want to help with this issue at all... .

Door locks on my 2004 infinity fx35 will not open from the outside.i feel that this is a hugh safety issue and infinity does not want to fix this problem, unless i cough up hundreds of dollars! i have been dealing with this issue for over a year now.*ln

No events cause this problemdriver's side door not unlocking and locking(actuator fail)nothing has been done to correct the problem.

None of my door actuator work. Cant open or lock any doors, not even the trunk. Infiniti didn't do anything about it. I had own many cars but none of my cars ever gave me these kind of problems. One door or two is fine. But all 5 doors stopped working. This is unacceptable. We consumer need the gov's help. So please help us. How could you guy let them get away like this. Im not the only one. My aunt has an infinity and she had the same problem. And many many people out there had the same problem.thanks

Door lock / unlock failure from key fob on all doors and rear hatch.

When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. In emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. And the fx35's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. This shouldn't be, nissan should recall them.

This is for a defect:i own a 2004 infiniti fx35 and my wife and i are about to have our first child, so we purchased a child safety seat that includes latch connectors (since the infiniti lists as having them, and since by law all vehicles were to include them since 2002).went to install the child seat and could not get to, or reach, the latch connectors.started examining around the seats to figure out what was wrong and quickly discovered that the latch connectors are installed incorrectly on my infiniti, they seem to be installed up-side-down making them a good two inches below the seat level(when they should be flush with the seat to properly align and secure the child seat).when the back seats are laid flat you are able to access the rear and underside of the seats, there you can see where the latch connectors are bolted to the frame of the car, and this is where you can see that they are upside down making them impossible to reach through the seat.i've also checked out a kia, honda and a ford, and in all those cases simply reaching between the lower-seat and the seat-back you can very easily find the latch connector and it is indeed flush with the seat, the infiniti's is a good 2 inches below that height.i went to the dealership and the service department didn't even know what the latch system was (at least that is what they said).not sure if it is all fx35's or even all infiniti's, but if you do manage to attach the child safety seat to the latch connectors, it will not be in the proper alignment and could very easily fail risking the child.

Dt*:the contact stated the vehicle was burglarized.when the door locks were forced open the windows came down automatically.this allowed easy access to the vehicle.the dealer and manufacturer were alerted.

When you use the manual shifter (triptronic) it hase a knocking sound and feel beetwen the second and third gear.

Front seats on my 2004 infiniti fx 35 with black interior where replaced 2 times each, they are sure defective. The leather bulk up, cushion deformed.

Driver side leather seat is totally cracked. Dealer said that he's never seen this before and no other cars have had this problem.since then, i've checked infiniti forums for service instructions and general help. I have noticed this reported a lot but nothing is ever done.now i can see complaints here when i went to look for my airbag recall notice. My car is on the airbag list, but i have not been contacted. These seats are an issue that has never been handled. The dealer was not truthful and it has been a very long time now. None of the other seats in this car, or my other two cars had this problem. It is clearly a manufacturing defect.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35. While traveling 45 mph the contact attempted to apply the brakes and they would not engage causing the vehicle to drive through an intersection. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the repair shop who previously serviced the vehicle installed aftermarket braking parts on the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle back to the previous repair shop where the contact was informed that the vehicle was operating normally. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer where the brakes were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated that the brake fluid had created a bubble in the line and was repaired. The failure recurred for the third time and the vehicle was taken to the dealers who stated that the failure was due to a faulty computer and was repaired.the failure recurred a fourth time after the computer was repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the contact was informed that the computer was defective. The contact is concerned about the safety risk while driving the vehicle. The failure mileage was 39,000.

My vehicle has 25,000 miles currently. There was heavy juddering while braking since 22,000 miles and i didn't attribute it to the brakes and thought it was probably the tire pressure. I changed the tire pressure to different psi but it still didn't help. I took it to the dealer and the dealer said i had to change the brake pads and turn the brake rotors. I found the next day that there was tsb #05023 issued by infiniti in july 2005. My vehicle was purchased in sept 2003.the dealer does not want to honor the warranty even when i referred to the tsb. Inifiniti says this vehicle will not be covered even though the tsb mentions that this particular brake judder issue is a known defect and covers my model year.there is widespread reporting of this issue at a very low odometer reading on the internet forums.

I have had my fx 35 for 6 years now and for the most part have been pleased with it. Except, when it comes to the braking system. Based on the research i done, i am not the only one with the same complaint. The brakes produce a piercing squeal at slow speeds when they are lightly applied. I've spent close to $1,000 in an attempt to resolve the issue without success. I've had both the front and rear pads and rotors replaced with factory-brand parts and the issue still exists. When i ask the dealer about the problem they say "it happens to all of them" and that "there's nothing they can do". How can this not be considered a manufacturing defect and be subject to a recall? this is precisely why i chose to spend my $50,000 for my latest car purchase at a mercedes-benz dealer! after spending over $40,000 on a "luxury" brand automobile, i expected more... A lot more.infiniti please do something about this!

I own a 2004 infiniti fx35 awd.there's a squeaking noise coming from the front brakes when braking and also when i drive normally not applying brakes.i noticed the noise around 20,000 miles.i took the car into my local infiniti dealer (infiniti of thousand oaks) in january 2006 when i had other services to do (about 30,000 miles & 80% of break pad life left at that time).they were not able to fix it and the noise have been getting louder.i've taken it into the same infiniti dealer on numerous occasions but the dealer could not correct the problem each time.as of 10/11/06, they are telling me that it's a glazed rotor and is not covered under warranty.i've researched many infiniti forum and noticed that there are numerous complaints about fx 35, qx45, and g35 breaking system.also the infiniti dealer service advisor, service manager, and service director tells me that about 90% of fx do have this brake squeaking problem and they can't do anything about it because infiniti corporation will not reimburse them for this common problem.they don't feel it is not right as well but their excuse is that they are financially tied from doing the repair.i don't think this is acceptable quality of service or product for a luxury brand car company and dealer.

Infiniti dashboard bubbling excessively causing glare while driving.i just received my third denial to my third written request to infiniti consumer affairs to replace my bubbling dashboard.i initially contacted the dealer in 2012 when i heard about a dashboard recall.i was informed my specific vehicle was not part of the recall.i was also told about a warranty extension that may have cared for the issue; however, both the initial and extended warranty had expired at that point.i was never informed of a recall or a warranty extension by infiniti.each time i requested replacement, infiniti responded promptly via phone - nothing was provided in writing.each time, the representative was polite and professional and responded with the same script - they were sorry there was nothing they could do and they realized this was not the outcome i was hoping for.my contention is that the dashboard and materials are defective and infiniti should take ownership of this issue and fix it at their expense.obviously, it was a known issue since there was a recall associated with the dashboards bubbling.why my vehicle was excluded by the recall is a mystery to me.to confuse the issue, they pointed to the mileage of my vehicle and the fact that i did not have the vehicle serviced at the dealer after the original warranty had expired.neither point should be relevant to a non-wear-and-tear item like a dashboard.at this point, the bubbling and deterioration is so bad that it has become a safety issue.there is now a glare that when driving in bright and sunny conditions that negatively impacts forward vision.i am requesting assistance to get infiniti to take responsibility for their product and have them replace the defective dashboard at their expense.as stated, this is now a safety concern that impacts not only my vehicle, but others on the road.

Infiniti will not stand behind bubbling dashboards--no recall.the adhesives used may be the problem after several years, when the dash begins to bubble and melt.infiniti extended the warranty only, and many owners are past that time frame.the concern is not just the $1200 cost, but safety concerns for breathing fumes.there are many reports online.

The contact owns a 2004 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting and bubbles appeared. The contact was concerned that the failure could cause the air bags to be exposed. I brought a 2004 infiniti fx35 in 2010 and i love this suv but the only issue i have is the dashboard bubbled up like it had blisters. I called an infiniti dealer in alexandria virginia to see if there had been a recall on the dashboard and i talk to [xxx] and he told me yes and he is willing to change the dashboard if i get approval from infiniti consumer affairs.april 8, 2013, i called and talked to a rep name [xxx] and explain that my dashboard have bubbled up like it had blisters and she told me she will get back with me in 2 days. When she got back with me i was very unhappy with the response she gave that they will not replace the dashboard.i call back left a message asking [xxx] please send me an email or send me a letter explaining why.this is infiniti e-mail response.thank you for allowing us an opportunity to review your concerns regarding your 2004 fx infiniti.infiniti realizes situations may occur with your infiniti vehicle that, unfortunately, fall outside of the parameters of the new vehicle limited warranty provided with your vehicle.as a company interested in winning lifetime customers, infiniti apologizes for any inconvenience you may have experienced, and we are pleased you took the time to contact us regarding the situation.?infiniti carefully considered your request during a review of all of the available facts pertaining to your specific situation.infiniti is unable to offer financial assistance with the repair of the dashboard due to the vehicle being outside of the new vehicle limited warranty. We realize this may not be the answer you were looking for, but we hope that you understand our position.i never received a warranty letter from infiniti at all. I though infiniti stand by their brand to ensure the safety and performance of their vehicles.i want to know who to contact to get this matter resolved.thank youinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My car had a recall on the dash board. It gets very hot andburns thus cannot put anything or have even your hands touching the dash board. It is slowly melting . I have attempted to contact the manufacturer however they have refused to resolve the issue.

Infiniti dashboard bubbling excessively causing glare while driving. Apparently there was a recall for this issue but my dealer never told me. I am the original owner and i was taking my car to the dealer for maintenance and repairs up until 2011 and the deal never told me there was a recall. No apparently the recall is expired or something and is not covered. I don't understand how a recall can expire if its an safety issue and how a deal can get away without notifying their clients.

2004 infinity fx35. Consumer writes in regards to defective dashboard material. *ldthe consumer stated the dashboard was completely bubbled and blistered. The dealership was notified. Updated 09/14/2017

Went to open driver door and door handle broke off. Vehicle was stationary.

The front side rails of the body of the vehicle have corroded (rusted) from the inside and have perforated the exterior of the members exposing them to further damage.in my opinion, the vehicle is no longer safe to be driven without the risk of themembers collapsing and possibly causing an accident.

The dash of my car is in very poor conditions, and replaced it once and continuous passin this entire melted and caused me itching.

The exterior door handles of my fx35 all came off..when trying to open door. Initially occurred with one of the rear doors. Thought maybe i was too rough with it..so didnt make much of it. When second rear door broke off..i knew something wasnt right. I call infiniti..they replied stating that there wasno recall. The driver side handle then broke off 2 years ago..then finally front passenger last month. I cant believe it. When you spend money on an "luxury" vehicle, all four of the door ahndles should not be coming off.

Had car checked by mechanic who said when checking under the car, he found it rusted to the point which it could become unsafe. I checked online for recalls. Found recalls for nissan pathfinders and infiniti i30. Not the fx. However there were many forums of other fx35 owners who also claimed their cars had rusted under the car. My car has very low mileage for the year. It is in new england, but my driveway is hot topped and always cleaned to the bare pavement. I do not use rock salt. I also live and work in my home, so i am not on the road a lot. I am passed the time on the warranty, but my mileage is low. Spoke to someone at infiniti, but she didn't believe i would be eligible to have it fixed unless there was a recall. Nissan had this problem with other cars, and stands to reason that it could also apply to this model. Could you please investigate?this is a very expensive car. Thank you.

Bubbling/sticky dashboard/melting dashboard

The dashboardmelts, cause by extreme heat in the summer, it would seem like the dashboard was made from cheap material that can only withstand very low temperature. My dashboard has bubble all over and looks awful. How can such global respectable company allow this to happen. I spoke to several people who own this car and they have the same complain. I can barely touch or put anything on my dashboard especially in the summer when the temperature is hot.

The dashboard is melting, its all gooey. Its melted so bad i cant even replace the radio.also the actuators randomly work and their are multiple complaints online but no recalls have ever been made.

My car has 258000 highway miles it's well taken care of maintenance always done on time has no engine or mechanical issues instead of the reverse i noticed one day in 2019 my car didn't want to go in reverse it almost felt limp like it was in neutral but i notice when i tap on the gas like i'm tapping a clutch on a manual car it engages into reverse i took it to a local transmission mechanic and it was telling me i might need a new transmission and i don't think i need a new transmission because the transmission works fine and drive and in every other gear but reverse i've been an xfiniti customer for many years and i would like to continue to do business with you guys i just need help fixing my car i love this car i feel like she could run over 300,000 miles i would like to keep my baby if you have any suggestions on why my reverse may not be working please now if for some reason my all-wheel drive light is on the dash and the slip light and i think one more light but i can't recall at the moment i think maybe it's tdl light. Maybe thats causing my reverse not to work.

My dashboard has melted and is very sticky. I have contacted swell infinity but have not gotten a response. I really can't drive it during the day because of the glare! thank you for your assistance in this matter. God bless

Dt*:the contact stated the mud flaps on all four tires cause snow and ice to build up between the wheel wells and the tires.due to the icy build up the steering is difficult to control.the dealership determined the build up occurs on all vehicles with that type of mud flaps.

I have a major problem with my rear hatch actuator lock. Unable to open the door from the outside. The dealer told me once one goes they all go. It appears this is a big problem with the 2004 model and they should do a recall on this lock. The price they want to charge to fix it is outrageous. I have found the parts and labor prices cheaper on line. Please make them recall these locks for safety reasons and help out their customers.

Door actuators work intermittent sometimes they don't work at all .some days one door works the others don't .could be a safety issue with child on board.

While living in maryland i purchased a used 2004 fx35.everything seemed fine until we experienced warm weather, the dashboard is sticky. You can leave finger impressions and pieces of it will come off on your hand when you try to clean it.now i live in florida and the melting has gotten worst.the entire dashboard is stickyand the glare when driving has gotten worst. At times you can not see objects or people walking in a crosswalk.its very dangerous.

Since two years my dashboard started foaming with air bubbles,at the beginning it was small few air bubbles but now it is spreading all over the dashboard. I have never seen this kind of defect. I don't even know whether it is healthy to drive this kind of car. Contacted infinity and bbb with negative response. The response was since it is over 8 years they will not replace it. If it is acknowledged that it is a defect why the company gets away with such an answer. In addition to this defect my four door locks are not working especially in hot climate.complained about it to the dealer they wanted a $2000 charge. I am not complaining about wear and tear , it is about defect. All i was asking them was to stand by their product. I drove toyota camryfor13 years ,never saw this kind of defect.
