I have not yet had an accident but i do not understand how this problem has not been resolved.i own a 2003 infiniti fx-35.the seat has a rocking motion to it.it rocks back and forth when i accelerate and brake.the dealership said this is a problem they are researching.after 7.5 months i am convinced they are just blowing me off.i continually contact the dealership and customer relations.i don't feel confident that the seat would provide the necessary protection if i were to ever crash the vehicle.thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Takata recallthe recall was issued on this car in may 2016, and the dealerships still do not have parts as of today, 10/21/2016. We are now being told that the parts will not be here before mid to end of november. Customers are being told that it is safe to still drive the car, as long as we refrain from anyone being in the front seat. However, this is not feasible if you only have one car, and multiple family members. I am aware that many cars have been affected by this recall, but i do believe that extreme urgency must be given to the oldest model year cars that are most at risk, as in this case. I reached out to infiniti customer affairs today, and after much protesting on my part, they agreed to reach out to an infiniti retailer and call me back in a week, in hopes of getting a loaner vehicle. I want to stress that we have made due with another vehicle until now, but at some point the burden cannot be placed on the customer. They should be giving loaner vehicles to those customers that have high risk older model cars. Unfortunately, there was news of another person being killed yesterday in california as a result of the airbag issue. This person also had an older model car.i am sure this customer was also advised that it was safe to drive the car, as i was told numerous times prior. However, there mustbe some accountability on the part of the car maker to provide contingency plans for customers at high risk, such as car models ten years or older. I am certain many people have emailed in, but i hope that this reaches someone who can understand the importance of some sort of contingency plan to be given to customers like myself with 2003 model car, with no parts in sight till at least end of next month. What options do we have as customers? thank you for your time.

The contact owns a 2003 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 20v008000 (air bags) however, the vin was not included. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Urgent safety recall air bag

Takata recall (previous case number 1039551)i have been following up with infiniti consumer affairs since august 2016 and was advised today from [xxx], regional manager that the official (not temporary piece) was available for installation. I am concerned because the nhtsa website states that as of 12/14/2016 "recall is incomplete. Remedy not yet available". The local dealership has been dishonest with me before and i want to make sure that they are not giving me a temporary repair with "low risk", but the actual official repair with "no risk" as i drive often with a 2 year old, and wife... And i have also experienced someone losing their life due to a similar recall issue. Please advise.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall - no permanent repair has been done on my infiniti for the takata airbag, this has been in effect since 2/2016 and is unacceptable. Please get this repaired asap

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2003 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v226000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not provided. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall for airbag taking too long!!!!first the dealer said my car was not subject to the recall.now your site says the dealer is "waiting on parts".i think the oldest cars should be fixed first.

The recall on the air bags has kept me from being able take my kids to their events, take prospects/clients out and when i called infinity of charlotte, nc-where i purchased the car they would not offer me a rental until fixed. Instead they offered to replace the air bag with the exact same model air bag. The service department rep said there was only a 1% chance the bags would deploy spraying shrapnel throughout the cabin. There have been 15 deaths already and i would never risk someone being killed or disfigured. I unfortunately don't have a rental carso i risk it everyday. Apparently the other models all got a replacement vehicle from enterprise rental car but not the 2003 fx35.

Takara recall l. Please replace this item by revocable company. I ask you to clarify what revocable campaigns are conducted for my car?

Good day!according to the vin code of my car, there are revocable companies, the dealer refuses to replace it.

Airbag defective and my dash boardis cracked

I am a chjild safety seat tech for the durham fire department.i inspected a css installation in aninfinity fx 35.i found the lower anchor points very difficult to get to an not very practical for a parent to use.seat was installed completely wrong and i was unable to install using latch.utilized seat belt inorder to install seat safely.

The latch system is installed for my child seat.however, i cannot latch the belts to the loops because they are placed too low on my infinit fx35 2003.

All doors will not lock or unlock. Nissan / infiniti has known about this issue since 2005 there are hundreds if not thousands of vehicles affected. I'm tired of going round and round with them to fix this safety issue.

I have a 2003 infinity fx35, for some time i have been having trouble with all the door actuators they sometime work and some not, now they don't work at all. It started with the drivers door and like 2 months later the rest of the doors including the trunk. I had it check with an electromechanical and he told me is the door actuators that i have to replace all of them. I have been reading that this happens to all infinity fx35 models and some others. I really think this is a very serious safety issue and something most be done about it....infinity should take care of this since is a very common malfunction in they're cars. 1 actuator going bad is one thing but all of them is another.this is a very high safety issue that needs to be take care off.

Something is wrong with their bcm and door lock actuators.they constantly go out,or do not function all the time.

2003 infiniti fx35 trunk lock actuator motor and passenger door stop working dealer recommendation was to replace both actuators.

Front door locks intermittently work. Some times they will not unlock with the key fob and must use a key. Recently they have been locking by themselves as if the actuator fails.

All four door locks as well as the hatch lock ceased to work properly (i.e. Would not lock or unlock when the automatic lock button was pushed.)told that it was an actuator problem, and that all would need to be replaced (at great expense).this is an obvious safety issue.first, with children in the car, doors could not be locked or unlocked quickly in the case of an emergency.also, when driving alone, security of the car was likewise compromised.also troubling was that the sound of doors locking would still be heard, but the doors were not actually locked--thus leading drivers to think their car was secure when in fact it was not.this is a prevalent problem with these suv'sand should be considered for a component recall.

The contact owns a 2003 infiniti fx35. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle lost power and the engine, vdc, and slip warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road. The contact waited ten minutes before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally. The contact stated that the failure recurred less than a mile down the road. The contact stated that the failure recurred six times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the left and right camshaft position sensors were replaced. The contact called sheehy infiniti of chantilly (located at 4145 auto park cir, chantilly, va 20151, (703) 372-0381) and an appointment was scheduled. The contact was also informed by phone that the failure could also be due to a loose wire. The vehicle was towed to the sheehy dealer where it was diagnosed that the camshaft crank position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 35590467. The approximate failure mileage was 153,000.

Power door lock actuators operate intermittently. There has been several instances having the rear child door lock engaged and we could not open the rear doors from the outside because the actuators failed. Children had to exit out the front by climbing over the front seats. While at a parking garage a large vehicle parked close to the passenger side of our car and could not open doors to re-enter. Again, intermittent operation of power door lock actuators , both front and rear driver side door locks failed. We had to enter the vehicle through the rear tailgate/hatch. Took vehicle in for service and lock were operating at that time and manufacturer recommended replacing the door lock actuators. Still to this day the locks operate intermittently, and now have 115,000 miles.

Blown head gasket

The contact owns a 2003 infiniti fx35. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. After waiting ten minutes, the vehicle resumed normal operation; however, the failure recurred three times before reaching his residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Purchased a new 2003 infiniti fx35 which currently has 238,000 and properly maintained with the dealer recommended maintenance schedule. At 234,634 and frequently thereafter the vehicle when driving would just suddenly overheat and engine cooling system malfunction causing automobile to suddenly lose power and start to shut down while driving on major highways or roads. This is a very serious safety hazard and dangerous on highway when you driving at 65 mph. Very, very scary and just barely avoided several rear end collision. I am still trying to get the vehicle fixed and would like for this complaint to be recorded as with all the other listed fx35 complaints.

Purchased a new 2003 infiniti fx35 which currently has 117,000 and properly maintained with the dealer based on auto booklet maintenance schedule.at 101,000 and frequently thereafter the vehiclewhen driving would just suddenly overheat and engine cooling system malfunction causing automobile to suddenly lose powerand start to shut down while driving on major highways orroads. Dealer cannot determine what is causing the malfunction or fix the problem. This is a very serious safety hazard and dangerous on highway when you driving at 65 mph. Very, very scary and just barely avoided several rear end collision. For the price of the automobile brand new, with barely over 100,000 miles and the dealer unable to determine or fix the problem is beyond comprehension and extremely dangerous. The dealer suggested i pay them $ 10,000 to install a new engine--that is beyond comprehension. This problem is an extreme safety hazard and needs investigation. The last occurrence was approximately 11/9/2008. I will not drive the car for fear of a fatal rear end collision.

I have an '03 infiniti fx35 with 90,000 miles. I'm not an abusive nor negligent operator and have had all my services well maintained. Car began by overheating 15 hours into my 16 hour drive home from yellowstone this summer. It started overheating when i slowed down in towns and such...replaced my thermostat....flushed everything....drove for quite a few weeks more with no problems...thought it was solved :/ not quite. Overheating began once again...this time i had my heater going and noticed it going cold then within minutes my temp began rising. I pulled right over knowing what damages can be incurred. I had coolant being expelled from my spare reservoir just like the other instances. I waited for it to cool, filled it with water/coolant and made it a ways further, then repeat, repeat. Took my car to infiniti of beaverton who told me that my issue was a cracked radiator. They wanted 900 for it. Replaced it, car still overheated. Replaced water pump. Still overheated. Had my car towed back to infiniti who failed to have a loaner available (even though i called a day in advance and they said they would). They made me rent a car! they told me they still couldn't diagnose it and that i had to drive or have it towed to a different shop and pay to have a 4 gas hydrocarbon test done. Well sure enough a one-way pinhole leak in the head gasket not displaying your typical traits of gasket blowouts...only a slight rise in hydrocarbons, but enough to show it had a leak allowing air into the system which then overpressurizes my coolant system causing the spare res. To be my release location. Once air is introduced and replaces the coolant an air bubble develops and system overheats. What i am getting at is that infiniti is not recognizing this as any problem. I have been going through infiniti consumer affairs who told me they could not help me at this time but with a $300 credit towards the $7000 engine replacement they want to perform. I'm disappointed with infiniti.

2003 infiniti fx35, engine broken with mileage only 89,992.no car accident record. Well maintenance done by dealer.manufacturer has no idea what cause the engine broken.

Good day!according to the vin code of my car, there are revocable companies, the dealer refuses to replace it.

On our 2003 infiniti fx 35, the four position rotary switch that controls the headlights is loacted at the end of the directional signal ("turn blinker") lever.it has four positions, off, auto, parking lights and full headlights.it takes very little rotational pressure to turn it betwen these selections.on three occasions, while activating the turn blinker, the headlights switch has turned from auto to off, leaving the car with the headkights off at night.

I bought my vehicle used (2003 fx 35) in 2010 and have experienced what seems to be some very common complaints associated with the vehicle . Defects that the local dealers (mcallen , texas)have refused to address. 1) cracked dash. Several large cracks running the length of the dashes. 2) faulty car lock actuators. This seems absolutely ridiculous that the problems can be so prevalent (check the web) , but yet nissan fails to take responsibility for it. I can understand the dash not being a hazard , however, the locks can be. I cant even open myhatch, and this is suppose to be a luxury vehicle?

Front door locks intermittently work. Some times they will not unlock with the key fob and must use a key. Recently they have been locking by themselves as if the actuator fails.

Vehicle locks do not work correctly. Very inconsistent. Cannot open them , and cannot close them using the electronic locking system. This is a safety hazard to my six year old who sits in the back.

Power door lock actuators operate intermittently. There has been several instances having the rear child door lock engaged and we could not open the rear doors from the outside because the actuators failed. 1. Having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario.2. Nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery.this failure is an intermittent of operation. Sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. In addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't.3. In emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. And the murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. I can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. In emergencies every second counts. The locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. Some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. This shouldn't be, nissan should recall them.it's only a matter of time till someone gets robbed, hurt or killed from a malfunctioning door lock.

Doors will not lock or unlock along with gasdoor lock.dealership says its an actuator problem, they all need to be replaced at a cost of nearly $500 per lock times 6 locks. (4 doors, rear hatch and gasdoor)safety issue as sometimes i cannot get out of the driver side door.

Have a 2003 infiniti fx35, and the electronic locks now do not fully lock or unlock and the unlock message appear on the screen while driving (the work when they want). First one door went out now the other. My sense is that a small child or elderly person in the back could be in serious danger if there were an immediate need for them to be evacuated. With only one manual lock for the entire vehicle (on the driver's door) a person would have to go across the car to manually unlock the passenger side rear door in an emergency (in addition to reaching behind the driver's seat for the driver's side rear door). Since i see this as a significant safety issue, i believe nhtsa should investigate and order an appropriate recall. If you peruse various message boards on the web, you will see that this is a rather significant issue associated with many nissan products (the sister murano is also so afflicted).

The contact owns a 2003 infiniti fx35. The contact stated that the vehicle doors could not be unlocked or locked using the key fob or the interior door lock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The technician replaced the driver side door lock actuator. After the repair the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for diagnostics where the technician advised that the passenger side door actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Good day!according to the vin code of my car, there are revocable companies, the dealer refuses to replace it.

My daughter six years old was in the passenger seat in our family car. There was no car accident , but when we arrived home we were unable to release the seat belt . In fact the more we tried to release the seat belt , the tighterit got.my daughter was trapped very hard in the seat belt. We been trying to release her in many deferent ways, it doesn't work.she start to cry and scream very loud and her stomach tight up more and more with the belt.there was no other choice, i took knife and cut out the belt.after she vomited and complained of abdominal pain.

Driver's seat is loose and rocks back and forth. Infiniti has attempted to fix, but problem reoccurs. Feel if seat becomes loose enough this is a safety issue.

The seats on this and two other fx35's we own from infiniti "rock" back and forth while driving.the seat position is not stable.this is also widely reported with the g35 and infiniti cannot fix it.i believe it to be critically dangerous.the sway back to front is sudden and significant enough to jar the driver causing loss of control.my seat literally rocks about 1/3" back and forth like a rocking chair.we have another one that does exactly the same thing. In the snow i can imagine the sudden sway to be significant enough that a driver may lose control. I also wonder about crash durability. As you know any increased tolerance would allow an impact to cause more damage to the seat frame of the driver, possibly causing the seat to dislodge. *la

Driver's seat rocks/clicks on it's track when coming to a complete stop.

Takara recall l. Please replace this item by revocable company. I ask you to clarify what revocable campaigns are conducted for my car?

The brakes were defective. Dealerserviced the brakes several times, and the manufacturer stated that the problem will continue to exist because the parts being placed onto the vehicle were also defective.there was a constant squealing even when the brakes werenot applied.

It used to be that the first initial brake driving in a 15-20 mph, that my vehicle makes a rattling noise from the front tires, now it does it for the first 2 to 3 braking pattern. I am just worried that after my warranty expires and the same problem arises, the dealer or the manufacturer won't have anything to do with the damages it might cause. I have taken my vehicle to the dealer several times to correct the braking problem it creates. A couple of months after the service, the same problem occur. The dealer keeps giving me analogies about a wine glass, water on your finger tips and running them over the tip of the glass....what has that got to do with the braking system of the car!after 3 months leasing the vehicle, the problem started to show but was fixed. The second incident was the worst. Wherein even backing up made the noise like the wheel would separate. This was remedied when the caliper was recalled. The third time i took the vehicle, the mechanic told me that it was the abs that makes the noise. I understand that abs applies in a sudden brake. But this whole incident happens even driving at 10-15 mph. Although, every couple of months, i still have to take my suv back to the dealer due to the same rattling noise. The service manager keeps on insisting that this is normal. This is not normal in any circumstance because it does not do to my friends vehicle, which has the same year and model as i have. Not to mention, when i took the vehicle for a 30,000 miles service. My regular mechanic for my other car noticed, that the cabin filter was missing. He also mentioned that the vehicle as if has not been serviced at all due to oil being so dirty.

Brake failure. Rotors continually being cut. Dealer claims rear brakes "completely worn" at 19,900 miles, and front rotors again need to be cut.
