Air bag light has been on since bought new in 2005. Hyundai can not/will not fix. Internet search shows 100's of same complaint. Covers 2003 to 2013 many models of hyundai, but especially the xg350 model. Have to drive with air bag light on all the time. Srs system not functioning. Major safety issue!!

Air bag light will come on for no apparent reason which has happened twice now, 01/15/2008 29,000miles & 08/28/2012 77,490. Apparently when air bag light comes on, the air bag will not deploy in a crash! i researched this problem on google and there are many complaints with regards to hyundai xg350 air bag problem which is a major concern for safety. For example http://www.carproblemzoo.com/hyundai/xg350/front-air-bag-sensor-control-problems.phpdespite many people spending lots of money to try to fix the problem, it seems to return again and again! hyundai needs to do a recall and replace the airbag faulty module which costs the consumer $700. My local hyundai service center is aware of the airbag problem and all xg350 owners have made a complaint about the airbag light! they in turn refer owners' complaints to hyundai and everyone has been waiting for an answer!!!

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg-350l. The contact stated that when driving at various speeds the air bag warning light illuminated and would stay on consistently.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they advised him that the air bag connectors to the wiring harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle has been repaired for the back of the front seats and the wiring harness. The remedy failed to repair the problem. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer approximately 10 to 15 times. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

Mechanic tells me that the frame on my xg350 2005 is very badly rusted and unsafe to drive at 100k miles.all other years of this vehicle have a recall on this issue!!why not the 2005 model?obviously a manufacturer's problem.many others report the same issue.also, the air bag warning light is on.i have had this fixed once and it was expensive.problem is reported many times by other owners.

I was driving down the road when a car, entering traffic, failed to stop/yield and struck me on the driver's side.for lack of a better word, i was "t-boned" by a car traveling 30-40 mph.i sustained multiple injuries and have incurred some permanent damage.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. While driving 50 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The failure occurred only once. The dealer stated that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic who advised the contact to activate the cruise control to remedy the air bag failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bags were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 90.

The air bag light is always on.from what i was told by a mechanic this is a defect from hyundai as the wiring is faulty.this may affect the air bag from properly working if there is a accident.hyundai is aware of this problem as there are so many complaints and yet they do nothing to fix it.so the light on the dashboard stays on that says airbag.not very comforting from a safety standpoint.

Dt*: the contact stated a couple of weeks after the vehicle was purchased, the air bag light illuminated.it was taken to the dealer for repairs however, the problem persisted.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer for repairs but, after the repairs the air bag light illuminated immediately.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer on october 16, 2006 who repaired the connector for the high harness, which later fractured on november 27th.the manufacturer was contacted, who recommended that the vehicle be taken to the dealer for a diagnosis but the dealer refused.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The last time the vehicle was taken to the dealer, the technician stated that there was a posibility that the front drivers air bag was defective. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. Updated 8/19/14updated 8/28/2014

I have an 2005 hyundai xg350.i took my car to be inspected and i failed because the airbag light is on.the inspector said it is in the book that it has to fail with this light on.the light was always on.from the time i purchased the car in pa. In 2008.i was told the light was nothing and it would go out.i got my car inspected last year and it was on then.i now have to pay a $89 diagnostic fee for a defective vehicle.it was sold to me this way and now i have to pay $89.i make my $300 payments i should not have to pay for their defective goods, that should have had a recall by now.

The airbag warning light went on indicating that the airbags were not functioning. The problem was corrected however it continues to reoccur and has occured 8 times over the last two years. Hyundai has "fixed" the problem by adjusting a connector under the seat however the porblem continues to reoccur. It has now happened 8 times and after the last "repair" 3 weeks ago the warning light is back on. When the light is on we have no airbag protection. Checking the internet i found that this is a common problem for which hyundai has no real fix. Hyundai is now charging us to "fix" the problem but the fix only last 2-4 weeks and the warning light goes back on. This is a serious safety hazard and apparently occurs frequently with the xg350. The car needs to be recalled and a permanent fix made before someone is killed when the airbags do not activate in an accident.

2005 hyundai xg350l.consumer writes in regards to vehicle sudden acceleration accident.the consumer stated as she was preparing to park in an angle parking space along the west side, ground level, of the parking garage, she pressed the brake pedal to slow the vehicle to make a right turn into the parking space, it suddenly accelerated resulting in a severe collision with the concrete wall. As the vehicle accelerate forward, the consumer depressed the brake pedal as hard as she could. Also, the air bag did not deploy in the accident. The vehicle was declared totaled.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. The contact stated that the air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 176,000.

Air bag light will not go offshortly after purchasing the vehicle i have returned it three (3) times to have the air bag light staying on corrected. To date the problem has not been corrected.

Dt*: the contact stated the air bag light illuminated frequently.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that there were air bag wiring problems underneath the driver side seat.the air bag wiring was disconnected when the seat was adjusted.the dealer readjusted the sensor, which did not remedy the problem.the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who rerouted the air bag wires, but the problem persisted.updated

The airbag light has stayed on for over 2 years.when a touch the brake pedal, a bulb illuminates. Therefore i am constantly having all of my lights, brake fluid, and brakes checked. Especially since before any of the above issues arose, i attempted to put on brakes and the car would not stop! i had to come to a rolling stop. I immediately had the car checked by severall mechanics. None of them could find anything wrong.

Bought the car in summer of 2010 from dealer who had sold it new to someone else. 2 days later the seatbelt warning light came on.took it to dealer during routine maintenance and pointed this out. They said there was a soda can under the passenger seat, they turned light off, no problem. Light back on in about 1 week. At next maintenance they turned it off again.i asked about recalls or advisories and they insisted that my problem cane from an empty soda can they said was under the seat.to fix it i was told would cost more than $ 2000.so now when i go for state inspection i first go to the dealer to have him turn the light off for $50.00, then straight to inspection praying the light does not come back on.dealer insisted there were no complaints other than mine.then i learned about this site.light comes on while car is in motion and no one is in passenger seat.

Air bag warning light on dash was on, and dealer said there was a problem with the connector on the front passenger seat.was quoted approximately $400 to repair the problem and was told safety items were not covered after the vehicle 100,000 mile warranty had expired.it seems the amount to cover a simple connector problem is excessive, especially since it is directly safety related to passengers of the vehicle.the dealer could not explain if the srs system would work or not with the warning light on.how can they determine where the problem is if they don't even know what the results of the problem will be?now i don't know if any of the srs system air bags will deploy in an accident.

"takata inflators" airbag light always is on.dealer wants $3500 to replace inflator which is part of the seat back.

Airbag light is on.dealer checked and suggested that i get the front passenger seat replaced to fix the problem.there is a bad sensor under the passenger front seat.many others are reporting the same problem.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350.the contact stated that the abs and air bag lights illuminated intermittently.the dealer stated that the failure was due to a shortage and was not a serious safety issue.the dealer replaced a control module in the back of the front driver's seat, however, the failure continued.the current mileage was 32,207 and failure mileage was 15,000.updated 01/11/08.*ljthe clockspring was replaced. I purchased a 2005 hyundai xg350 l october 23,2012. One week later the air bag light appeared on the dash. A mechanic told me that it is caused by the airbag connector under the seat, the yellow connector.if it is disconnected and reconnected the warning light would go off. I looked for it and found it. I was not able to reach far enough to disconnect it, but i was able to wiggle the connector and the airbag warning light went off. It appeared that someone had been under the drivers seat before to adjust that connector as it was hanging and did not look to be properly placed. The next day the air bag warning light came on again. I have not been able to get the light to go off again and it remains on. A hyundai service adviser told me that it is a common issue. I researched it online to find out that when that light is on, the airbag will not work. I also discovered that people have paid to have this issue repaired more than once and have spent a lot of money to have this fixed and it just continues. This is a defect and hyundai has received many complaints yet they have not issued a recall. Instead they continue totake money from people to repair a part that can not be repaired as it is defective. I got a price quote to replace the connector. The part alone is over $130. The labor more than triples the cost. Owners of this vehicle have been experiencing this problem as early as the 1st year of ownership in 2005. It is now almost 2013 and hyundai still has not issued a recall for the problem.

Multiple times the air bag light remains lit and the dealer has been unsuccessful in fixing.12/30/08 miles 28,531 miles.12/26/09 39, 372 miles.first time dealer found pass side airbag light defect seatback code b1382.second time dealer reset.in 2010 returned to deal and dealer replaced airbag harness.light returned in 2011 and 2012 and i had it reset.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated while driving 30 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test, which determined that the air bag sensor for the driver's seat was defective. The dealer advised that the entire driver's seat assembly needed to be replaced. Neither the driver's seat nor the sensor was replaced. The failure mileage was 88,000. The vin was not available.

When the power seat was moved, it disengaged the air bag system and the light on the dashboard came on alerting me that the air bag system was disengaged..thus, if i had an accident during this period, the air bags would not have engaged.i subsequently took my car to the dealership for a warranty repair.they reengaged the system and sent me on my way.again on 11/4/09 i had to have another warranty repair and again on 1/4/10 and 2/23/11.each time i took the car to the dealership for repair and asked if it could be permanently fixed.each time they said they had to remove the seats and reconnect the wires for the system to reengage.each one was covered by the warranty.however on 8/23/12 they said it wasn't under warranty anymore and they would charge me to fix it.they were too expensive and i took it elsewhere to get it fixed.this occurred again on 1/30/13 and i had to pay to get it fixed.i have had to permanently keep the front seats in the same position since then so i wouldn't disengage the system.each time i go for routine maintenance i have a sheet of paper on the steering wheel indicating not to move the seats for fear of disengagement.i don't understand why the manufacturer can't permanently fix this issue at their cost.this seems to be a safety issue to me.thank you.

Takata recall -continuing problems with airbag light coming/ staying on..car has been to several different dealers multiple times which have reportedly fixed the problem but the light always comes back on...this is a serious safety issue and something needs to be done about this long standing problem asap.

Hello. I was sold a lemon by [xxx]of al's motor sales located on 1126 n. Montello st, brockton, ma 02301.when i went for inspection i got a rejection sticker because the car needed a catalytic converter, timing belts, airbag light being on, headlamps and a backlight, and would mysteriously accelerate on its own for no reason without my foot being on the gas pedal! once i ran a vin scan realized that he received the car like this but never disclosed that to me. He also left the information of the previous owners in the vehicle. Rather, he turned off the o2 sensor lights and led me to believe that the car could pass inspection. I traded my 1998 infiniti i30 for a 2005 hyundai xg 350 so that the price of the vehicle would no longer be $3500 but $2400. Within two weeks the check engine light came on.[xxx] has avoided my calls and gotten very verbally aggressive in person when i speak to him about his actions. He has agreed to refund my money, infiniti, car keys, $2400.00 and brand new battery i put in the hyundai, but keeps putting off the times we're to meet. I believe he is trying to bleed out his time withthe lemon law so that he doesn't have to adhere to the refund. When asked to read the terms of his own federal buyers guide, he couldn't! i would like his whole operation investigated as he is not being truthful and knowingly robs people continually. He has had my vehicle for 3 weeks going on 4 weeks. My trust and rights have been raped and i would like justice. As a school teacher i need this car to get work and instead, i take public transportation while paying car insurance. This dealer is illegally selling vehicles that are compromising the safety of other motorists and pedestrians. Please investigate the matter before it evolves into a tragic fatality. Air bag light has been on for over a year and a half. I have owned car since new.,problem has occurred on several occasions. Different hyundai dealers described different causes for problem ,without making a lasting repair. Light continues to come on. My fear is that air bag will not deploy if needed.

The airbag warning light comes on and will not extinguish.the vehicle was purchased new. This happened under warranty and the dealership reset the light.it came on again after the warranty expired and the dealership charged me to reset the light.the light has been reset multiple times and is now illuminated and will not reset. I am afraid that the airbag will not properly work in an accident.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350.the driver side air bag warning light illuminated.the connector in the seat for the air bag disconnected when the seat was moved.the vehicle has been to the dealer four times and they reconnected the connector.the failure mileage was 500 and current mileage was 19,419. Updated 02/14/08.*ljupdated 02/14/08

Air bag indicator light on dashboard remains illuminated due to manufacturer defect of harness being too short to accommodate movement in driver and passenger seat. I have taken my vehicle in to repair shops and they have verified this defect. They quoted me over 700.00 to fix this issue.they said the entire module has to be replaced since the harness is not longer available.this is a major complaint for this model vehicle, but hyundai is not addressing this defect.it is poor customer service!

The air bag indicator light for the passenger side, checked under the seat for loose electrical connectors, cleared the code but it keeps returning,

The airbag light stays on.dealer had repaired 2 or 3 times in early years.seems the wiring harness under driver seat is too short.extremely expensive for new harness and the dealer will not assure it will not also come loose.

Air bag light has been illuminated since late 2013. Reading entries posted on site, and talking with former hyundai mechanic, this is a wiring harness issue that at least 60 other people have complained about.also experienced the steering issue where the bolts locking the wheel in place sheered off, i was lucky to get off the freeway in 2015 get it to a local shop to fix.as of 2018 the steering is problematic again with the steering wheel sticking and now a squeaking noise occurs when turning right.

Air bag light has repeatedly come on. Each time it comes on, i take it to the dealer. They claim to fix it and the light goes off. Without fail it comes back on within a short period of time. I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my passengers.. Forbid we are in an accident.

Takata recallmy air bag light has been illuminated now for about 10 months. My car has very low mileage (56000). This is a very concerning to me,for it is a life and death problem.with all the complaintsi'm wondering when hyundai is going to recall these cars. What are they waiting for? this makes me think twice about buying another hyundai.

2005 hyundai xg350l. Air bag light remains illuminated. While under warranty i took it to dealer who rest the light and said it was a lose connection and not to put anything under the seat or move the seat. I followed the instructions. Within weeks the light always came back. After the warranty expired the dealer refused to repair the problem. After much research i found that it is a common problem in hyundai vehicles to have faulty airbags/lights to which there has never been a recall. The dealer did indicate that under these conditions the air bag was disabled and in an unsafe condition.

The "air bag" dash icon light stays on all the time. Hyundai has "fixed" it once by re-inserting connectors under the driver's seat. The "fix" lasted a couple of days. The vehicle now has 61,000 miles on-still under the 10k mile warranty, and the light stays on still. Hyundai keeps saying that it will cost over $500 just to diagnose. Hyundai has no solution for this issue, the internet searches will show that. This srs light problem is endemic with all hyundais in the early to mid 2000's. An internet search will show hundreds of srs "light-on" issues with these hyundais. There is no question that all these model's srs systems are problematic at best and a total failure at worst. All people driving these model hyundais are absolutely at risk.a recall is positively required.like i said, just do a search on hyundai srs/air bag/airbag light and you can see the magnitude of the issue. I can't believe that i am the first to complain about this issue, so what is happening!? in no search is there a solution: check connectors under the seat, jiggle this or that, but no solution that works and no recognition from hyundai of the problem....and this is a life threatening issue not just an inconvenience. These models need to be recalled and at the very least hyundai has to come up with a real solution.

Air bag light keeps coming on. First time was 7/26/08.hyundai service tech's notes on the invoice indicatethe side air bag and wiring harness was faulty. This work was covered under warranty.light came on again maybe 6 months later, but went off a few days later. The light came on again 3/31/10.hyundai tech notes indicate the wire to srs connection was repaired. Work was covered under warranty.the next time was late nov 2011.i took car to my local auto care for annual inspection. The car failed because the air bag light was on.according to the tech diagnosis, "drivers side air bag high resistance. Rr electrical connector and apply stabilant - 22a to connector for terminal adhesion.if code returns in future, vehicle will need entire air bag harness."light came on again sometime in late 2012. I took it to my local auto care for annual inspection in dec. 2012.it failed because of the air bag light.in january 2013, i took the car to a different hyundai service dept. For "2nd opinion".their diagnosis: "drivers seatback occupancy sensor shorted/part only comes w/seat, est. To replace drivers seatback-$1,749.00." i took the car back to my original hyundai svc dept with this information and they did another fix so i could pass inspection. The light came on again in september 2013, they determinedthe seat back was needed and it would cost $ 2,100.i got the repair done on 2/14/14for $2,161.56. The light came back on again 2 weeks ago. I have an appointment with the hyundai svc dept on 4/22/14. I contacted hyundai motors customer service to find out if they would refund the money i paid, clearly there's a defect which should have been discovered and repaired the very first time i took my car in about this issue. I was told only if there is a recall or rebate.i' m not the only person with this problem so i believe a recall should be ordered.

Airbag light continues to illuminate.when lit, the airbags will not function.i have been in the dealership 5 times since purchasing the car brand new december 31, 2004.

Vehicles has air bag light on.air bags will not deploy if in a accident.apparently due to a manufacture defect with the wiring harness under the front drivers seat. The dealer said this vehicle model (multiple years) has a history of this defect as most all of those manufactured do this.the vehicle has been seen many times for this repair.time for a recall.

Due to the takata recall i'm concerned because " my airbag light has been on for over a year. My car has been at the dealer & serviced so they are aware. I am waiting to hear from hyundai about a recall. On how they plan to fix these safety issues. What is hyundai doing about the air bags.my 84 year old mother was driving this car and i did not feel it wassafe driving so i swapped cars.now i'm driving a car knowing that fragments could explode in my face at any given moment.!!!!

"takata recall"my airbag light has been on for a year. I patiently waited to hear from hyundai about a recall. Other manufactures are taking steps to fix there safety problems. What is hyundai doing about theirs. I don`t feel safe driving my car knowing that fragments could explode in my face.

Air bag light stays on --needs a recall -i have a friend who sued general motors after her husband was killed in a car wreck -won big time

Driver's air bag light came on in may 2008.i was told it was caused by a loose connector under passenger's seat. It seemed to be corrected butit has happened several times after that and each time i took it inthe mechanic was able to get it to turn of.but, now, it is on permanently and the mechanic who i sought in september 2014to get it to turn off was unable to do so.approximately during the same timeframe, the radio turns on by itself.oftentimes it will do so several times before i can get it to turn off.

Air bag indicator light went on.took it to my local hyundai dealer, rancho grande motors, and the technician said he found high resistance in the driver's side air bag itself and that the airbag would need to be replaced.estimated cost $1052.00

"takata recall"-my airbag light has been on for over 2 years! i bought my hyundai xg350l in august 2012 from a dealership in maryland. In 2014, i started the car and the airbag light came on. It's been on ever since. The light only goes off when the car is off. I had open-heart surgery in june 2012 and was, and still am in fear of anything possibly hitting me in my chest! therefore, i took the car to be checked at two different nationally-known auto repair business. I also took it to a hyundai dealer. I have constantly been told there were many issues and complaints regarding the airbags for the hyundai cars and to check on a possible recall soon. I'm still waiting for a recall on these defected airbags! i have major concerns about driving the car for this reason, but i really don't have any other choice. My driving is limited though. Please recall so this issue is no longer a threat to my health! thank in advance.

The airbag light came on 3 months after purchasing the vehicle.dealer repaired, but it has occurred 6 times total since then.dealer has replaced the wiring harnesses, front seat, and strapped the harness, but the light has come on again.service rep informed me last time they had done all they could to fix the problem and that if the light was on the air bags would not work.the light is on again.

I received a recall notice for an elantra-airbag defect.i also have an xg350 and prior to it a senata.both of which the airbag light came on.i had it turned off on the xg350 and it is still on again.i'd like a recall letter for my xg350.i had to pay diagnostic previously for this to be turned off and i did not agree with that.i'd like something done about it.

I have a2005 hyundai xg350. Six months after the vehicle was purchased, the air bag light illuminated. There has been eight attempts to repair this vehicle. The dealer has replaced sensors, plugs, and wiring harness; however, the light continues to illuminate. I have all the repair invoices and diagnoses that were performed. The failure mileage was 11,000 and current mileage is about48,000.

Air bag light stays on.

I have a 2005 hyundai xg350.the air bag light suddenly came on in the car.i brought the car to the dealer.the dealer explained that a plug beneath the seat came out.although it could have been caused by something getting caught under the seat, there was no evidence of that.the dealer explained that he has seen this many times and has attempted to file a claim with hyundai but it has always been turned down.i feel that this is a safety issue and if it is happening many times as the dealer described it is obviously a defect in the design.

Airbag warning light comes on and stays on. Hyundai dealer repaired the seat wiring that controls the airbag warning light 3 times while under warranty. Independent repair service has tried repairing the wiring under the drivers seat 3 times, after each repair, the airbag warning light comes back on after driving the car. The car does not have to be in motion when the airbag light is on. It stays on all the time.

2005 hyundai xg350.consumer writes in regards to continuing vehicle air bag light malfunction after repairs.the consumer stated four months after she purchased the vehicle, the air bag light illuminated. She took the vehicle to the dealer on june 2, 2006, in which they promptly made the necessary repairs. However, the air bag light illuminated again, seven months later. She returned to the dealer on january 19, 2007 and the repairs made. The consumer returned to the dealer six more times, for the air bag light problem. Several components were replaced. The last repair shop, suspected the air bag module was bad.

Side door collision. Air bag did not deploy.

I was driving down the road when a car, entering traffic, failed to stop/yield and struck me on the driver's side.for lack of a better word, i was "t-boned" by a car traveling 30-40 mph.i sustained multiple injuries and have incurred some permanent damage.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated while driving, which was a safety concern. The contact felt as if the air bags would deploy. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (courtesy hyundai, 939 newport ave, pawtucket, ri 02861) where the wire harness and the driver's seat back were diagnosed as the cause of the failure and were replaced. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to nhtsa. The failure mileage was 37,000.

-the contact states that while driving he can't read the temperature gauge or fan speed located under the radio on the dashboard.the contact only experiences this problem during the day he does not experience it at all at night. The manufacturer stated that they couldn't do anything about it, that is the vehicle's design.

A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 53,000.

I was braking my car at the end of my work's driveway which enters into a "t" intersection. Upon reaching a slow speed of 5 mph the car surged into the traffic which was traveling from my left and right. Braking fully had no effect on the surge and thankfully i was not hit by any left or right traveling vehicles and i just missed a vehicle crossing in front of me by an inch as it passed. Still braking fully, my car crossed the entire road and jumped a curb, slightly hit a rising grassy hill and finally came to rest fully on the hill only after i punched the shift into neutral. I should have been killed and i could have seriously hurt the individual crossing in front of me. This has been the fourth incident of this nature. The first three involved soft taps to the rear bumper of cars stopped in front of me while i was breaking and the engine was surging. So very unsafe!!i checked on carcomplaints.com and saw 30 plus complaints of the same nature. I was told the older cars had a engine idler control to keep the engine from stalling after breaking from higher rpm's to near 0 rpm's. Is this now controlled with an electronic module? i think this problem should cause a recall for this problem. I don't want to drive this vehicle anymore. Every time i brake i don't know if i am going to injure someone!!

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle pulled to the right and it was difficult to keep the wheels straight. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the cradle that supported the engine was rusted and rotted out. The technician also stated that the air conditioning draining pipe drained into the cradle, causing the cradle to rust. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 86,317.

Car driven for 6 miles. Engine shut off for 1 hour. Restarted car and shifted to dive. Car moved forward without problem. Traveled 3/4 mile and stopped at traffic light behind some cars. Had right foot on brake pedal, car started to move forward, pressed pedal harder but car continued to move forward.noticed rpms at 4000 without gas pedal being touched. Shifted to neutral, depressed and released gas pedal.rpms at 3500 and dropped to 1000, rpms jump to 3000 and back to 1000, rpms jump to 2500 and back to 1000, rpms jump to 2000 and back to 1000, rpms jump to 1500 and back to 1000.this process took about 25 seconds. Put car in drive, all seemed ok very bad situation.***note: car temp was slightly below normal ****

Throttle becomes sporadic and unstable. Problem occurs once car has reached operating temperature and is restarted. This is a safety issue due to vehicle surging forward or not responding. Manufacturer has not resolved this issue even after several attempts.

2005 hyundai xg350l intermittently stalls when put in motion, then rapidly accelerates and surges forward.after a few seconds the vehicle will regain power and surge/lunge forward.the vehicle was taken to the dealer but they were unable to duplicate the problem.they replaced the throttle body but that did not rectify the problem.

Initially (2) times there was no response from engine when gas pedal depressed, we have had 3-4 incidents of when stopped at intersection, or driving slowly in parking lot engine surges and breaks had to be applied severely to prevent car from hitting other cars, the last incident was the transmission would not shift from 1st gear and car would not go faster than 20 mph. All of these are safety issues.

Seven instances of unwanted engine acceleration since jan 2006.all occurrences similar: 1)engine is warm after a period of driving; 2) car decelerating approaching stop sign, traffic light, or in stop-and-go traffic; 3) a barely audible "click" is heard and the engine rpm begins to rev up making braking difficult and giving a clue that something is amiss. When this point is reached key was turned off or idle selected to see how high the rpm would rev; 4800 is the highest noted.this is a random event as the car has over 10000 miles with 7 occurrences. The brake warning light comes when no problem with lights or brakes when you hardly touch the brakes.it bothers or concerns the driver.when there is no problem why should warning light come on? did you have similar problem like this with any other vehicles of this model.

On august 18, 2005 we purchased a new 2005 xg hyundai.that same day, after est driving, i reported the accelerator pedal did not give a smooth transition when attempting to depress.the service manager said it was probably due to it being new.1.0 the following month, we drove the car to myrtle beach sc (approx 1000 miles).after leaving a restaurant, and attempting to enter into traffic acrossfour (4) lanes of traffic, i pressed the accelerator, but the vehicle failed to respond and i entered the four lanes of traffic at idle speed.this proved to be very dangerous. The following day, we took the car to thelocal hound dealer service department.the service manager reported no failures according to their computer, and said we must bring the car in while it is performing improperly.this same problem occurred on two other occasions while at myrtle beach, but in less dangerous conditions.2.0 upon returning to st louis, the vehicle was taken to the closest hound dealership for investigation. Again the computer showed no failures3.0this problem continued while in st louis and occur about 8 times thereafter. 4.0iasked for a meeting with the area service rep.two weeks later he arrived, drove the car and said therewas no problem.5.0the same problem occurred again ( about june 2006) twice while my wife was driving.. 6.0 theaccelerator again failed.idrove at idle speed, with flashers on, for about 5 to 7 miles..wehave a five year (5) bumper to bumper warranty from hound, but seems worthless since they intend to do nothing.we need your help[xxx]updated 07/12/2012 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Our car suddenly developed a fuel leak. We were driving and started smelling gasoline. We parked the car and let it sit for about 30 minutes. We returned to car and once again smelled gasoline. We noticed gasoline inside the left rear wheel well and on the ground. When the car's ignition switch is placed in run fuel begins dripping from left rear of car. We are having the car towed to the dealer tomorrow for repair.

Fails to accelerate when pedal is depressed.then after 1 to 3 seconds it accelerates like a jack rabbit because the pedal is depressed too far.

While following a line of cars through a local city street my car accelerated coming close to the car in front. I brake, the car did not respond. I used all my strength on the brake pedal and the car responded by going faster.to avoid a collision, i swerved to the right into a convenience store driveway.however, i hit the bumper of the car in front of me and this finally stopped my car. I read on a website that this is not an uncommon problem with this model.why has there been no recall to solve this problem?

Air bag light has been illuminated since late 2013. Reading entries posted on site, and talking with former hyundai mechanic, this is a wiring harness issue that at least 60 other people have complained about.also experienced the steering issue where the bolts locking the wheel in place sheered off, i was lucky to get off the freeway in 2015 get it to a local shop to fix.as of 2018 the steering is problematic again with the steering wheel sticking and now a squeaking noise occurs when turning right.

-the contact stated that no matter how far down she pushes the accelerator her vehicle will not go over 15 -20 mph.the contact stated that she has contacted the dealer approximately 6 times and she was told that they cannot do anything until the check engine light comes on.the contact says that the problem occurs occasionally and she does not know when it will happen.

2005 xg350 has had two specific problems related to engaging car in drive and acceleration.when car has been sitting overnight or for a prolonged period of time and it is placed in drive, the car just sits there in excess of 15 seconds and then transmission clunks into gear and starts going.this problem occurs daily when car is first started and reappears if car cools down for several hours after it has been driven.related to this problem is acceleration of vehicle.after gear finally engages, the slightest pressure on the gas pedal can send the car lurching forward quickly.the other day while backing out of the driveway and then placing car in drive, was almost hit by another car coming down the street that no doubt expected us to be moving.even though we had placed the car in drive, it went nowhere.lucky the other guys stopped in time or we would have been hit.this could be a real safety issue.we have reported these problems to dealer on two separate occasions but they have been unable to replicate them and nothing has been done to resolve our problem.

Dt*:the contact stated while moving forward from an idled position the vehicle jumped and remained in first gear while driving up to 20 mph on normal road conditions. There were no warning signal while the problem was present.the jumping problem occurred continually however the gear shifting problem has been intermittent. Sometimes took ten minutes to shift and on other occasions as long as forty five minutes or more.the vehicle has been taken to the dealership several times but the diagnostic test would not indicate any abnormality.the dealership also mentioned the jumping problem was normal on all those hyundai models.the manufacturer was contacted who determined there was no recall on the vehicle.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated there was a loose pin in the throttle body sensor. The technicians tightened the pin; however, the vehicle continued to jerk after the repairs. Prior to the failure occurring the dealer replaced the transmission for an unrelated failure. After the replacement of the transmission thejerking motion in the vehicle recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission converter would slip out of gear and would not stay engaged. The contact stated that the warranty was valid; however, the dealer stated that until a service engine light illuminated they could not repair the failure because the computer was not reading a failure code. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The car lurches forward violently when the gas pedal is touched intermittenly.the defect seems to be related to relationships between engine temperature and outside temperature. The defect is most likely to take place when the vehicle has been driven for about 20 - 30 minutes, then allowed to sit for about 2 to 2-1/2 hrs when the outside temperature ia btween 68 and 74 degrees.the car was purchased march 21, 2005. I have almost 10,000 miles on it.the defect began on day one. I have a log file of starts since then. The dealer claims it is not a vehicle defect, it is the way i drive the car. I have an affidavid from another driver who experienced the same problem in the car on july 17 when i was not present.

This is a brand new xg350.the defect started within the first week.when the car is first put in drive after turning on the engine, the car lurches forward with no control, enough to scare driver.after 4 visits he dealer cannot isolate the problem because it is intermittant.car is dangerous to drive

On monday 2 may 2011 at approx. 1645, i was operating my 2005 hyundai xg-350 l in the cvs parking lot on columbia pike in arlington, virginia.i pulled slowly into a parking space in front of the building.while my foot was on the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated speed toward the building.i depressed the brake pedal firmly but the vehicle continue forward over a parking berm and curb stone before striking the building. Damage to the vehicle was extensive.the building was also damaged and two cvs employees reported suffering minor injuries from the incident.

2016 winnebago vista wfe30t, serial number 10e42u189473, built on 2016 ford f53 motorhome chassis: the owner's manual states the transmission tow haul feature, "provides engine braking in all forward gears, which will slow your vehicle and assist you in controlling your vehicle when descending a grade. Depending on driving conditions and load conditions, may downshift the transmission, slow your vehicle and control vehicle speed when descending a hill, without pressing the accelerator pedal. The amount of downshift braking provided will vary based upon the amount the brake pedal is pressed."i have descended several 8 percent grades with transmission in the tow haul mode while applying heavy manual braking and the transmission has never downshifted to apply engine braking. Failure of the transmission to perform as designed could lead to brake failure. There are several similar similar complaints involving the 2016 ford f53 chassis with 6 speed transmission on an owners group forum having the following web link: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/downshifting-2016-f53-6-speed-266197.htmli have been to a ford dealer who, after road testing, agreed with my diagnosis, but responded that ford is denying there is a problem.

On few occasions i experienced faulty activation of abs brakes driving at a low speed. Last time it was at a speed lower than 10 mph when i was not even pushing brake pedal. The recall pertained to internal corrosion of the front sub-frame. At the time in 2009 i felt i had nothing to fear because my 2005 model was not included in the recall.low and behold now almost 9 years later from the april 2009 recall my sub-frame has the same issue (please see attached photos).i called hyundai motor america (hma) customer assistance and they made an appointment for me at ettleson hyundai in countryside il where i originally purchased the vehicle.the mechanic at ettelson inspected the car and service writer rich gibbons forwarded results to hma.on december 29, 2017 hmarepresentative juan vazquez denied my claim stating: this prior authorization (pa) is declined due to excessive mileage and time past warranty coverage for this repair. No corrosion campaigns or settlements and the fact that ca case10874702 is not approving any repairs at this time. No one from the car dealer to hma has been able to answer my original question with hma customer assistance: why the 2005 xg350l model year was not included in the original april 2009 recall?incidentally, 2005 was the last year for this model, hyundai went to the azera in 2006 to replace the xg350l.i probably would not be having this $1157.00 dealer quoted estimate of a problem if it had been included in the 2009 recall.the 2005 hyundai xg350 should be included in the original recall for safety.any assistance you can render would be greatly appreciated.

My 2005 hyundai xg350 has experienced sua, (sudden unwanted acceleration) twice in the last 3 months. This is a very serious and dangerous safety problem that has been reported to hyundai motor america and the nhtsa too many times. Twice, i pulled into a parking spot and while applying the brake, the car accelerated and i was unable to stop it , even when i stepped on the brake very hard. I wonder why, after so many complaints to hyundai motor america and the nhtsa, that this very dangerous safety issue didn't warrant a recall, since this problem goes back to 2006.

I purchased a new 2005 xg350l on december 7, 2005. My initial opinion of the vehicle was that the car ran sluggish unless it was warmed up at least for 5 minutes before driving. Then on december 26, 2005 we went to the store and before turning off the car there was a rough idle. About 45 minutes later we left the store and proceeded home. I sat in the passenger's seat as we drove aboutof a mile and was forced to sit in stop and go traffic. We stopped with aboutcar length between us and the car in front with his foot on the break. All of a sudden the car started easing forward. He applied more pressure to the break and the car continued to move faster. When he realized the car was not going to stop he then pressed the break with both feet with all of his strength and the car accelerated even more and lunged forward into the car in front pushing it towards the car ahead of it. As he put the shifter into park when the car went into neutral the rpms of the engine revved really high, when passing reverse it made a loud knocking sound making the car shake, and when it reached park the car`s rpms revved very high three times consecutively, faster than physically possible to floor the gas pedal manually. All of this happened in the time it took the driver to take his hand off of the shifter to reach the ignition to turn off the car.immediately after the police instructed us to move the car into the parking lot i called the dealership to report the problem. The service manager instructed me to have the car towed to his dealership the next morning. They kept the car two days trying to find the problem with no result. The dealer wants to return the car to me since they did not find any indication of a problem.i purchased this vehicle with the expectation that i would have a safe and reliable car for personal and business use. I selected, what i thought, the best among all models. Now i am liable for payments on a car that is unsafe for me to drive.

2005 hyundai xg350l - intermittently when depressing the accelerator pedal, vehicle will not respond and after a few seconds will surge forward. This occurred when pulling into parking lot and upon removing foot from the gas pedal, the vehicle surged forward. The vehicle jumped a 10" curb and took out a support column.the vehicle then hit the front of the building.

Dt*:the contact stated there was a intermittent acceleration problem.while depressing the accelerator pedal, upon initial acceleration, the vehicle hesitated and then suddenly accelerated.also, when put into drive the vehicle lurched forward.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the problem. Updated 04/04/06.

Latest date is noted below.

Fails to accelerate when pedal is depressed.then after 1 to 3 seconds it accelerates like a jack rabbit because the pedal is depressed too far.

Dt*: the contact stated while stopped at an intersection with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle accelerated without warning on several occasions.the vehicle was driven to the dealer who could not diagnose the problem.updated 10/30/2006 -

I was almost parked at the curb in front of a drugstore with my foot on brake easing into spot when car lurched forward, jumped the curb and violently crashed into the concrete wall about 6-7 feet away.wall, not brake, stopped car.people came out from store as crash was heard/felt inside. I don't know what would have happened to me if i didn't have seatbelt on.as it was, my chest was extremely sore for several weeks from seatbelt.airbag didn't deploy.car was totaled thank god as i would never drive it again.so many complaints with same issue no recalls or service bulletins.hyundai line is can't find anything wrong when car was checked by them after accident so it is driver error.i've been driving for many years and never had an accident and still consider that i didn't have an accident but not sure of insurance company's stand if i buy another car, if i can find a safe one after all of the recalls.this situation is unacceptable.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350.the contact stated that the rpms would increase unexpectedly.he noticed the failure on three occasions.even when pressing firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle would continue to accelerate.he shifted into neutral in an attempt to gain control of the vehicle, but it continued to rev up until he turned the ignition key to shut it off.the failure sometimes occurred when he attempted to decelerate.he took the vehicle to two different dealers, but they could not duplicate the failure or provide a failure code.the manufacturer was not notified.the current mileage was approximately 43,000 and failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle stalled upon acceleration for the first 5-10 minutes the vehicle was driven.after pumping the accelerator pedal a few times, the vehicle would start.the dealership was aware of the problem and determined this was a characteristic of the vehicle. Updated 10/4/2006 - the consumer indicated that each morning the vehicle was started, put into drive and driven into traffic it stumbled and would not accelerate.when the consumer lets off the accelerator pedal the vehicle accelerated suddenly.

Car purchased new.about every 6 weeks; car is in drive; waiting for traffic to pass to enter roadway. Hit gas pedal, engine revs to 4000 rpms but does not move. After a few seconds, car jumps forward spinning drive wheels every time. The engine temp is slightly below normal. Had car to dealer at 400 miles and again at 5500.cannot duplicate problem was their answer.

Purchased xg350 in december2005 on two occasions when first leaving the driveway noticed that when pressing the accelerator the car did not respond.after releasing and trying a couple more times the car then lurched forward.that was shortly after the purchase.now have a little over 26,000 mileson several occasionswhen pressing the accelerator the car seemed to surge forward for the amount of pressure.on july 16, 2007left the driveway and the car would not respond to pressure.kept trying for about 1/2 mile pressing and releasing and just as i was going to turn around the car surged forward and drove fine for the last two days.i will be taking it to a hyundai repair service department soon as this could be very dangerous if pulling into or driving in heave traffic.

Dt*:the contact stated that the vehicle was having problems with the accelerator causing the rpm to run high and the vehicle to over-accelerate. During one incident while pulling the vehicle out of a parking space and barely tapping on the gas pedal in reverse, the vehicle over accelerated almost hitting a pedistrian.the vehicle was taken to the dealers on four seperate occasions and they could not determine the source of the problem.the dealer will no longer provide further assisstance.

Automobile 2005 hyundai xg350l. 4 times since purchase 5-28-05 within 1000 miles of driving, car will not go after stopping. This car will rev to almost 4000 rpm in drive for 3-10 seconds then lurch out away from stop. Latest incident on july 6 the car did this whis moving down the road, lost all power but continued to rev to approx 4000rpm then took off with tires squealing. Has been to the dealer each time. They can not duplicate issue so are doing nothing. Hyundai dealer reports no other incidents like this reported.i have been on internet discussions with others saying same problem and they are told the same thing.

Dt*:the contact stated while attempting to accelerate the vehicle would not exceed 15 mph then suddenly without warning it would accelerate to 60 mph.the vehicle was taken to the dealer five times for the problem, however it can not be duplicated or diagnosed.updated 7/3/2006 -

Dt: contact stated when the vehiclewas put into drive and the accelerator pedal was pressed vehicle lurches forward.sometimes this left rubber marks on the pavement or road.at times when the vehicle was put into reverse itwould do this in reverse as well.the vehicle when put into gear will go into the higher gears until the rpms reached 4000.consumer had logged 600 events, and there have been 54 occasions when this occurred.the service dealer did not know why this happened, but did replace the vehicle with the same make and model of this vehicle, and it did have the same defect.the dealer stated there was no recorded complaints with hyundai.consumer has contacted the manufacturer several times, but had no resolution. Consumer no longer had this specific vehicle, but feltthis was a safety defect and someone should be made aware of this problem.

On three occasions over about 4-5 month period ending july 2010 i experienced sudden unintended acceleration with my 2005 hyundai xgl350. The first 2 times i was stopped at a red light and the car started to accelerate unexpectedly. I already had the brake depressed for the traffic stop and had to press the brake as hard as possible to prevent the car from taking off. The unexpected acceleration surge lasted about 5 seconds then ended. The car did move forward but in both cases i did not have any injuries or damages. I did not take the car in for service after either of these incidents. The third incident happened on july 25, 2010 in norfolk, va. I was parking between two cars in a restaurant parking lot. The parking space faced a curb which boarded some floral landscaping. With my foot on the brake at all times i very slowly pulled in and started bringing the car to a stop the car about 3 - 4 feet from the curb. Before the car came to a stop it began to unexpectedly rev up and accelerate forward. I pressed on the brake as hard as possible but the car's front wheels manage to climb over the curb and move the front of the car into bushes before the acceleration ended and i was able to regain control of the car. I put the car in reverse and backed down over the curb. On that same day i drove the car for about 12 hours returning from virginia to new york and did not experience any unexpected acceleration problems. I plan to bring the car into the hyundai service on july27, 2010 to investigate and hopefully fix the problem.

2005 hyundai xg350l seems as though it is going to stall. ***nar***the consumer stated at times the vehicle would barely move, it didn't matter how much she attempted to accelerate there would be no response at first and then suddenly the vehicle would surge forward.

Dt:consumer statedwhen he stepped on the brakes the tachometer climbed.this problem didn't happen all the time, but twice.he almost veered into traffic.the dealership and manufacturercould notduplicate the problem ,there was nothing they could do.the last time this occurred, the consumer picked the vehicle up from the dealership, drove home, then went out, and the vehicle revved up to 2400 rpms.he has documentation of these circumstances.vehicle 'almost hit a woman who was tryingto cross the parking lot.

I purchased this 2005 xg350 in 2007 with 11,600 miles and under warranty and today's mileage is 62,600 miles. When starting vehicle today husband stated car seemed to be running a little rough and i said it has been like that since we put the new battery indecember 2010. We drove 30 miles at average of 55-60 mph with little starting or stopping. After turning into the parking lot we had to drive about 200 feet to park. He took his foot off the accelerator and then stepped on the brake to stop. The engine progressed to 6500 rpm's and couldn't shift transmission out of drive, had both feet on brake and then smoke started coming out of hood. When he felt like the brakes wasn't going to stop it he then turned off the key and front wheels continued to advance forward and tried to climb the sidewalk and eventually shut down. Afterwards he stated he felt the accelerator pedal actually move under his foot and then took his foot off and put both feet on the brakes.we were extremely shakened by this event and fearful for the return drive for our safety and others we may encounter. We returned home safely without further incident but very concerned for our safety in future. This had never happened before. However i did report twice to dealership about deceleration problems. Over the past 3 years after starting vehicle, it had no power to accelerate into traffic. First time could turn off car and wait a few minutes and then restart and would run fine. Second time drove 1/2 mile and turned off car. When restarting there wasn't any acceleration power over 10 mph had to pull over turn off car 3 or 4 times before it ran fine. The 3rd time had to turn off car 3-4 times to get it to run correctly. Dealership did take out battery to reset the computer to correct problem however now i'm having the acceleration problem that is very scary. Called the dealership to report but it was saturday afternoon and they closed at 1pm.will contact dealer for further explanation, if any.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle accelerates without the accelerator pedal being depressed.this has occurred on four occasions, once causing an accident. The rpms shoot up to the top. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer however they have not be able to duplicate the problem.08/29/06certified letter received by hyundai on 7/30/06.no response by hyundai or by price.

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350.while driving 5 mph, the contact attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued to accelerate.she had to exert maximum pressure to the brake pedal in order to stop the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to a local repair shop, but the mechanic was unable to locate the cause of the failure.the contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer.the failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 41,000. Updated 10/06/09 the consumer stated on a separate occasion when the cruise control was set, the vehicle increase in speed up to 80 mph. Updated 10/08/09

Vehicle speed control is erratic and cannot be predicted on occasion.sometimes the vehicle will jump quickly at the smallest touch of the accelerator and other times it will not move faster than about 5 mph no matter how much the throttle is pressed.this causes serious safety issues as entering a roadway can be dangerous with little to no power available at times.it also makes navigating a small area such as a parking lot unsafe when the power is delivered far too quickly.incidents typically happen 3-4 times per day (my typical commute is about 60 miles per day).the incidents usually never last more than 20 or 30 seconds.

Dt: contact states when the accelerator is pushedvehicle accelerated excessivley.the only way to remedy thissituation when it happens is to put on the brakes.the local service dealer stated they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle.

My 2005 hyundai xg350 has a very dangerous hesitation problem. This problem is generally encountered form a cold start out of a parking lot or garage. The gas pedal is slowly depressed to accelerate. Sometimes, it responds normally. At other times it just coasts no matter how hard you push on gas pedal. Suddenly it will lurch forward with enormous torque (depending on howthe driver responds to the coasting problem). There are two problems with this hesitation: 1) pulling into traffic and than not accelerating can cause accidents 2) more importantly, the unexpected quick acceleration can cause loss of control, hitting something or somebody, or worse. Resolution to this problem is not considered by huyndai at this point. Denial of other cars having similar problems are common at factory level, but are admitted at dealership level. Incident date is first time.

Car accelerates/lurches forward when idle or starting to drive from a standstill. This happens intermittently and my wife has taken it to the dealer twice for this.the dealer states they cannot find anything wrong.well, by reading the complaints on this site about the same problem my wife is experiencing, there is a problem, and a serious one.

Speed control - acceleration. On 10 occasions since 03/05 the accelerator pedal can be depressed, nothing happens, and then the vehicletakes off. Yesterday was the last straw - backing up and it did it. When it did take off with accelerator depressed about half way, it took off and even though i was ready for it to do that i couldn't get it stopped quick enough and it hit a pole. It tore rear bumper. I have had it to dealer 4 times and they kept car for 5 days and could not duplicate the problem. Told us until they can get it to do it while they had it - there isn't anything they can do. So far when it has happened pulling out into traffic we were able to avoid getting hit. Cannot understand why nhtsa hasn't addressed this problem. Perhaps because no documented deaths have occurred.....

The contact owns a 2005 hyundai xg350. The contact stated that the vehicle attempted to surge forward while it was stopped with his foot on the brake pedal. The contact applied heavy pressure to the brake pedal to keep the vehicle stopped. The failure occurred four times. One of the failures resulted in a crash. A police report was not filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer once where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1,500 and the current mileage was 44,000.

Vehicle lurches forward with the slightest pressure applied to the accelerator pedal, or, at other times, will not respond to accelerator position.these two opposite and extreme conditions happen intermittently but with enough frequency that anyone that i have allowed drive the vehicle (except the service tech!) has experienced the problem.this is not just an irritating problem but a serious safety issue. It is almost impossible to safely enter a roadway with any amount of control of the vehicle speed when either of these problems occur.either the car lurches ahead so violently that control is impossible or in direct contrast, creeps along so slowly that the car becomes a road hazard, three days ago i was almost struck by a snowplow due to the latter problem!.

On two separate occurances my 05 hyundai xg350, when in city traffic at approx 35mph, failed to drop engine rpm when the brakes were applied during a traffic light stop. To stop the car, i had to shift the car to neutral. The engine raced then immediately droped to an idle. This easily could have resulted in an incident had i not shifted to neutral. Local dealer advised that all was ok - no problems!

Dt*:the contact stated while applying pressure to the accelerator pedal, the vehicle slowly responds.the vehicle speed was not adequate with the amount of pressure applied.this problem was intermittent in nature.although the vehicle was seen by a dealer, the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. Updated 02/28/06.
