1. Have hadbrakes replaced and rotors recalibrated twice and still have vibration upon braking.dealership says i'm not braking properly and causing brakes to overheat, which causing rotors to warp.i've been braking the same way for 35 years and never had this problem.2.air conditioner still does not cool properly and has been in shop several times. Dealership says there is a leak in the a/c coolant, but they cannot find it.3.car continually stutters at high speeds, dealership has replaced numerous parts, but problem persists.4.engine began making clacking noise about 2 months ago.dealership said bad gas was cause, but high-grade gasoline has not fixed problem. Dealership said i needed a tune-up, but that did not fix problem.dealership says they cannot hear noise, but noise is clearly audible when accelerated and climbing hills (2-4 rpms). Dealership still says they don't hear a problem and cannot find anything wrong.this is of major concern to me, as i'm afraid the engine will blow up while on a major highway.5.airbag light came on about a month ago, and won't go off, although nothing is wrong is airbags.6.radio has a short that causes radio to go on and off intermittently. If a cd is put in the cd player and left there while radio is in use, the radio works fine.7.this car has been in the shop so many times since it was purchased in december of 2001, i can't fit the repair and workorder sheets in the glove compartment any more, and the service technicians know me by name and sight.

The contact owns a 2001 hyundai xg300. The contact started the ignition and the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously on the instrument panel until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer three separate times and each time the air bag computer module was reset. The malfunction persisted after the repairs were performed. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The failure mileage was less than 10,000.

Driving 65 mph on a major interstate when vehicle #1 drove across interstate, vehicle #2 t-boned vehicle #1, and i struck vehicle #2 from behind at approximately 45 mph. Totaled vehicle and air bags never deployed. Neck, back, shoulder, and left elbow injuries.

Traveling at 45 to 55 mph, engine stalled and check engine light came on.it led to lost of power and acceleration on the vehicle. *la the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, because the engine light continued to illuminate.the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated, there was a cracking sound under the vehicle, there was a wind noise and a vibration coming from the vehicle. The injectors, gaskets, ignition sensor and throttle body were replaced.

Note - reported airbag failure earlier, this is an additional problem. On oct 11th, during a rain storm two dogs walked into the roadway in front of my car. I hit the brakes, and had plenty of pedal yet the car continued onward. My initial reaction was that i had plenty of time to stop but quickly it became apparent that i could not. I attempted to swerve to the right hopeing that i would slow the vehicle enough to go around the dogs. The car barely slowed and i continued off the roadway striking a pole perhaps 100 feet off of the roadway. At the time i was most bothered by the airbag failure wich i reported earlier. Though i could not understand my failure to stop, i did not report it as a brake failure because i had plenty of pedal at the time, nor to be honest did i hear the sound of tires sliging on the pavement. Frankly, i could not explain my failure to stop. When the car was sent in for repairs the traction ccontrol light would not go off. After all body work was completed the car was taken back to covington pike hyundai, the dealer from whom i bought the car for inspection. At that time they replaced the "traction control" module under warranty. When the car was finally returned to me, the brakes generally worked as expected. However, the first time it rained i hit the brakes again in a panic stop at only about ten miles per hour and immediately the car went into a skid. It was actually like being on ice. Upon return to the dealer they tested the vehicle repeatedly. On one occasion the mechanic even admitted that the vehicle turned completely sideways during one panic stop. The sliding was particularly obvious when the streets were wet. The dealer finally found that of the six brake lines going into the antilock brake module, only two were in the correct fittings (the rear were completely reversed). The mechanic, mr. Joe griffin, assures me that this was a problem "from the factory" in that they had to actually use tube benders to correct the problem.

Dt:the contact's vehicle was involved in anaccident. Upon impact, neither airbag deployed.this vehicle went into an embankment and rolled over. He entire front end was damaged and the vehicle was totaled.there has not been an investigation as to why the airbags did not deploy.he contactsustained cuts to his back.

While traveling at 30 to 40 mph consumer hit a dog and a telephone pole. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed. A month prior to accident, airbag light was illuminated.took vehicle to dealer and they did something that made air bag light go off. Consumer has contacted dealer.

The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a new battery and during the diagnose discovered an air module error code and the indicator light turned on.there were no prior failures or indicator lights. The contact's current mileage is 18,000.the dealer then advised the owner that the entire air bag module had to be replaced and that he/she was unsure about the air bag's capability during an accident.the dealer and the manufacturer agreed that the warranty should cover the air bag module.due to the billing system which will not allow the repair to be entered without cost, the manufacturer is not taking the responsibility for the warranty coverage and does not agree that the dealer should take responsibility either.hyundai also advised the contact to call the consumer affairs division who informed the contact that they have no control over the dealer. Per consumer affairs, the contact would be reimbursed for repairs after four weeks.the contact was advised to request the dealer pay the labor charges.the contact stated the dealer is responsible for the incident since it occurred while servicing the battery.

The vehicle was inspected and it was cited that the srs light was on because of a faulty wire which was connected to the front seat and could not be adjusted. The vehicle would have to be taken apart to confirm that the wire was faulty. She also was informed that recall 02v105000, air bags, side/window was related to her failure but did not include her vin. In july 2009, she noticed that the fuel tank would not take gasoline. She felt as if it was because of the fuel tank assembly valve but it was not confirmed by an inspector. The vehicle rejected the fuel and caused spillage. She called the manufacturer and was advised that they could not assist her. The current mileage was 78,225. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.updated 02/17/10. *ljthe transmission was replaced, due to vehicle not going into drive at times.updated 02/19/10

Car was towed 3 times in 2002, october and twice in december, to dealership for sensor failures and car stalled out at 50 mph on major roadway. I was almost hit by a dumptruck behind me, i was able to barely coast into a side street. Electronic control modulefailed and was fixed. Car was in for repairs 7 times in the 2 years i owned it. I traded inthis "top of the line hyundai" for a buick regal that i love. One of the car salesman told me to never buy a car in the first year it is manufactured. Nobody told me this as i drove off the lot in my brand new 2001 car. I was inconvencied by this continous problem of repairs, as my occupation as a nurse is necessary for a safe and reliable vehicle. I will never buy a hyundai again and friends and family are aware of the numerous problems i've had.

We own a hyundai 2001 xg300 which has severe corrosion and rust on the sub frame. Since november, we had different work performed on the car. All the mechanic have said that the corrosion and rust is severe and is effecting the suspension and other mountings to the frame.the carbon emission evaporator needed to be replaced and the dealership to get it to mount had to use plastic zip ties due to the amount of rusts and holes in the frame.the dealership mechanics have stated that the car is unsafe to drive due to the rear tire is not fully attached and need welding work to be performed.this is due to the severe corrosion. The controller arm of the rear right passenger side needs to be replaced, both rear upper control arm were replaced.the regional district manager for the northeast says this is normal corrosion for a 10 year old car.

I have had several problems with my 2001 xg300 since purchased in march 2001. I had to take it to the dealer because of hesitation on acceleration and making a rumbling noise in the engine 2 months after i purchased it.the first time the car was supposed to be fixed, i drove it less than 2 miles and it was doing the same thing.the second time the manager said he would take the care himself and after he putting over 50 miles on my care and keeping it 4 days it appeared to be fixed.more recently, the engine light came on the car was bucking while in gear and lunging while at a dead stop.they kept my car for 2 weeks to replace the induction valve, throttle body and gasket, air flow sensor. (they couldn't find the part anywhere in the country was what i was told) and after 2 weeks and $375.00 for a 30,000 mile check, the next day the care did the same thing. Returned the car they kept it 1 day stating it was computer problem and that night the car was still bucking while stopped.i will attempt to have it repaired again but i believe this car to be defective.this car has also been towed 3 times.another incident, the car cut off and stayed in the dealership for 3 days for them to replace the battery.i will be checking the lemon law criteria.

Intermittently, while driving at any speedvehicle stalled .this caused loss of steering and brakes.dealershipinspectedvehicle several times, and kept the vehicle for over night.they could not duplicate or correct the problem.

I have a hyundai 2001 xg300. Since my purchase in 2001 up until presentat various and unpredictable times, when i accelerate the transmission stutters/ shudders causing a noticeable delay in acceleration. This condition is at all speeds but notable between 35-43 mph 55-65 mph. When i'm trying to pass another vehicle or if i would accelerate to move out-of another vehicles way i would be bogged down with a stutter/shudder from the transmission which may cause an unsafe condition. I've been to the dealership and they have been very helpful and up-dated the transmission computer but the problem did not get any better or worse. It appears hyundai is aware of the problem because they have a service bulletin on the problem. My concern is it may be a safety problem.

My hyundai xg300 will not move and than plunges forward out of my control, does this the initial drive of the day anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes of driving.sometimes it just does it out of the blue, when stopped at a stop light.i spoke with one of your representatives today.i just got back fromthe store - when started my car, put it in drive and i almost hit the car in front of me, my car would not move and than it plunged out and i hit the brakes in time!this was way too close for comfort, and my body is still upset m as i type!we have a great driving record, great insurance rates and we are not antisipating a change, but if this problem is not corrected icould be looking at an accident or something worse!do you advise we stop driving until the problem is corrected? you site has listed recalls for xg300, same defect , manufactured between a certain date, of which mine was manufactured on 1/9/2001. The dealer told me he found nothing wrong, i wish i would have viewed your site before i saw the dealer, maybe me knowing would have helped him locate theproblem. What should i do, take it back to the dealer?

Both rear brake calipers got hung up while applyingbrakes, dealer contacte, and replaced caplipers. Feel free to provide any further information.

When the brake pedal was depressed from any speed vehicle vibrated.this was caused by warped brake rotors.dealership replaced and re surfaced the rotor, but the problem still occurs.
