My airbag light is lit on my dash. My car has not been involed in an incident. I came out one day & my airbag light was on.

Hard air bag fault light on. No impact.

Airbag indicator lights on! the airbag spring has been replaced per recall. Airbag light came on 2 months after replacement. I took it to the dealership, they reported a seat track position sensor malfunction (it describes as 43164 b1371 seat track position sensor driver instability. Short inside stps causing light to appear). Parts need to be ordered and it will under warranty of my car originally told. However, the service manager called back and said it will cost me $300 for replacement 2 weeks later. I believe the repair/ seat track position sensor should be under warranty of the car and the part should be on recall. In addition, after reviewing some of your airbag complaints, the seat track sensor maybeto blamed for the airbag malfunctions.

Received a letter from hyundai regarding the campaign 103 under which the clock spring contact assembly behind the steering wheel was to be replaced. The car was running fine no issues what so ever. Note: no warning lights were on6/25/2013. Called dealer, set up an appointment, dropped car for recall work on 6/26/2013. I was told that it would take few hours. So, went to pick up after work @5:45 pm (dealer's service workshop closes at 4 pm. So, the service manager had left keys with showroom receptionist). Got in the car and started it to realize the air bag sign was on. Called dealership's after hours service number. They told me to call the service manager the next day. So called next day, dealer asked for more money to diagnose the problem in the car and even more money if there are any repairs needed. Called hyundai about the situation and dealer's unwillingness to check why the air bag sign is on but hyundai did nothing. Frustrated with route 4 hyundai dealer in paramus, nj. Hyundai owners beware of those scammers. First they will screw up the car and then ask for more money to diagnose the problem. I even doubt that they have performed the recall that they were supposed to perform. How can any dealer hand over a car which has the air bag sign on, which came on after him servicing the car. After reading similar complaints about this clock spring recall, i think hyundai needs to do something seriously about this air bag sign. I hope nhtsa looks in this matter.

Our hyundai veracruz airbag indicator light came on and when we brought it to the dealer they informed us that the seat track position sensor had gone bad.it would seem to me that this would be a considerable safety concern if the air bags didn't work.it would also seem to me that this is something that should not fail under normal wear and tear.i have done some research and there are others who are having this same issue.

Airbag warning light came on the 1st time on 20 aug 2008 and continued 4 more times to 20 dec 2010. Allairbag warning lights were reset by dealer. I wonder how many owners have to go to dealer to fix this problem.

My car was in an accident and was totaled iand none of the airbags deployed resulting in injury to my daughtershe was driving east on park boulevard and another car traveling the same direction was in the left-hand turn lane and decided not to turn and pulled out and she had him.

Car wont start, took it in to the shop found out oil was leaking on to the alternator and that the vale gasket it leaking oil. Took it into the dealer 4 years ago to get it fix for the recall. Had the car for 5 years and have changed 5 alternators, and 5 batteries, now that i have put a new battery and alternator again, the car wont start now without getting it jumped off. We have tried disconnectioingthe terminal when not driving but that only works sometimes.called the dealer and they said that they couldn't find anything wrong and that the car was okay even when it wouldn't start in there shop and they had to jump it off and even pitting a new starter on.

I took the vehicle in for safety warranty work. Car city hyundai in st joseph missouri completed the national recall for oil leaking on to the alternator .after driving the car for approx 30 miles the dash lights up like a christmas tree. I have spoke to joe 631613 for hyundai he is not a part of hyundai corp. He is a csr for some call center. They are stating the electrical problems have nothing to do with the changes the did on my car and that it is a sensor that has magically went out after the recall work. Joe instructed me to contact the address below for any other concerns. 20850 fountain valley ca92728

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. When the contact attempted to drive the vehicle, it failed to start. In addition, the electric power steering and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to nalley hyundai (located at 7909 mall pkwy, lithonia, ga 30038, (678) 509-824)8 where it was diagnosed that the valve gasket was leaking and the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 14v415000 (engine and engine cooling), but the repair did not correct the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,700. The vin was not available.

At 16343 mileage, electronic stability control (esc) warning light illuminated and vehicle was difficult to shift out of park.dealer replaced brake light assembly under warranty.at 40,100 mileage, esc warning light again illuminated. Dealer again replaced the brake light assembly switch under recall campaign 092.at 87,719 mileage, the esc warning light again illuminated and vehicle was difficult to shift out of park.dealer again replaced the brake light assembly switch at my cost, even though the bad switch had been replaced due to a recall.at 129,000 mileage, the esc warning light is once again illuminated and the vehicle is difficult to shift from park. This means that the brake light switch is again bad.the vehicle is on it's 4th brake light switch.since this is part of a part defect recall, hyundai should warrant the replacement part for lifetime free replacement, but they do not.the replacement recall part is obviously no better than the part it replaces.the brake light switch is not a routine wear part, and at this degree of failure, an severe design flaw is indicated.this is a critical safety item that affects electronic stability control, shifting, and brake light illumination.

Car died while driving (in motion), i took it in and they needed to replaced alternator at cost of $704.02.same problem with alternator began to happen again.i received a recall notice, nhysa 14v-415.recall work was then done.i attempted to get reimbursed for the money spent the first time the alternator went out.i sent in all paperwork required and waited.i phoned in to see what the delay was, they were missing our proof of payment receipt.i sent that in and waited some more.each time i called i had a new "case worker" because the other one(s) were no longer working there.each time my case must have been placed at the bottom of the stack.each time they promised to expedite my claim.i'm still waiting. Not only that, they recall repair work doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.we keep getting "fluid" leaking onto the alternator.they will not do anything more unless hyundai puts out another recall notice.i won't buy hyundai again!

The valve cover gasket is leaking oil on to the alternator. The alternator is covered in oil, possibly causing it to short out which could lead to a loss of power while driving. This is a dangerous condition.

Car lost all power in heavy traffic.second failure of alternator happened at about 58,000 miles approximatelythird happened at 82,600 miles approximately similar situation on all three incidentswe felt threaten at every incident.

Manufactured from december 26, 2006, through july 24, 2012. The affected vehicles may experience an oil leak from the front cylinder bank valve cover gasket. If there is a sufficient amount of oil dropped onto the alternator, the alternator will be damaged causing the charging system to become inoperative. My vehicle was in motion and shutoff while driving on the road.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that a reading light failed. The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. While operating the vehicle, the odor of burning oil was present and the check battery sensor indicator illuminated. While inspecting the vehicle, it was discovered that oil leaked onto the alternator due to a faulty gasket. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact indicated that in 2010, the vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 14v415000(engine), but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 138,000.

The valve cover gasket was leaking in to the alternator causing an electrical malfunction that almost caused a three car accident. Those parts have been replaced four times. Twice by firestone because the dealership told me that since there the ones that repaired it the first time i had to go back to them the second time. And the dealership repaired it twice since the recall has been reported. This vehicle is un safe for me to drive my children in and apparently hyundai has not found a successful way to fix the problem but yet im being inconvenienced at my expense due to paying tow fees, rental fees, and diagnostic testing.

Valve cover gasket failed, leaked oil onto alternator, causing alternator failure.

Since i purchase this vehicle i had three alternators installed and several batteries, i believe there is a short in the wires, but the company only wants to replace the parts. The problem is as you are driving with out warning the vehicle just shuts down on you. Thank god i was on locals streets both times and not a highwaythis happen 1st time 1/2010 then 9/7/2010on this date got check engineturn out to be software error po300 random misfire but stall engine twice and now 8/10/2011 again alternator.

Car towed to dealer which diagnosed an undetected oil leak from thevalve cover dripped into the alternator causing it to short out. Valve gasket was changed and alternator replaced a second time. Note there wasonly 9362 mileage between incidents.the dealer says there is no fix for this other than replacing valve cover gasket and alternator when it happens again.this cannot be detected by dealer visual inspection prior to failure. This is very unsafe. I have all maintenance done at the dealership i purchased the car at according to the maintenance schedule and the dealer recommendations. Also note that vehicle at dealer 3 months before the second incident. This requires a recall before some dies in an accident.

2007 hyundai veracruz total vehicle failure. Vehicle stalled out while pulling into intersection on way to church. Thank god we stalled before getting all the way into the intersection because cars were coming from both ways. I put the vehicle in n and we luckily rolled back out of the way. Problem was due to leaky valve cover dripping on alternator. I have seen many forums and read of many problems with this happening.why hasn't anything been done about this? does someone have to get in a wreck and die before there will be a recall. Now i have to buy the parts and change it myself and i can't find any good forums on how to access this thing. Please recall before something happens that can't be fixed...

I have replaced 4 alternators due to oildripping down on it. I have had mechanics try and fix the oil leak but have not succeeded.also whenever there is a heavy rain or whenever you go through a large puddle of water everything wants to shut down it is dangerous driving in the rain because sometimes you have to try and get out of traffic due to everything shutting down.

Valve gasket was changed and alternator replaced a second time. The dealer mahwah hyundai says i should have noticed the leak. (my fault $880.00). Alternator below the value cover, who designed this. Another gm coverup going on here. I can not believe all the others with the same issue.there is no fix for this other than replacing valve cover gasket and alternator when it happens again. This cannot be detected by dealer visual inspection prior to failure. This is very unsafe. I have all maintenance done at the dealership i purchased the car at according to the maintenance schedule and the dealer recommendations. My altenater went out and there's alot of oil on it and it went out in phoenix az

Sufficient amount of oil leaking onto alternator from front cylinder bank valve cover gasket- coating alternator, not allowing the car to start or charge when jumped.car battery has been replaced twice and serviced at a local repair shop.local repair shop has documented and noted that there is significant damage occurning from front cylinder bank valvue cover, which is dripping and coating the alternator. Inquired help from hyundai customer care center and was instructed to bring car into a dealer for further inspection.unfortunaltly the car has not been able to start and this would require a towing service to tow my vehicle to the closet hyundai service and dealership, which is over fourty five minutes from my current location.all expenses have to be payed out of pocket from the vehical operative (this includes: towing and all repairs). Hyundai has issued an important safety recall (interim notice)- they were unable to help address towing my broken down vehicle and getting any resolution into fixing the problem addressed in recall letter.i am a concerned customer that reached out to the hyundai customer care center for assistance.i identify my needs and concerns, as i require my vehicle to comute to and from work and transport children to school. It is very disheartining to learn that after i addressing the safety and well-being of those transported in my car, that i was not even considered a canidate for any type of loaner vehicle until this problem is resolved. As stated in my important safety recall (interim letter):" the vehicle will run on battery power until the battery voltage drops below the engine...if this occurs, the engine will shut off and will not restart, increasing the risk of crash."- hyundai is not providing me with a safe alternative.

Nov 13,2020 manufacturer recall number197 nhtsa recall number20v705000 recall statusrecall incomplete summary hyundai motor america is recalling certain 2007-2012 veracruz vehicles that were previously recalled under recall number 14v-415. An inoperative charginig system can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.this recall has never been addressed and it is my feeling that hyundai motor america is just letting it go without corrective actions until all of the models are off the road and they don't have to address this at all, also the problem is well understated as the oil not only gets on the alternator but the belt system that poses an even mere berater risk.if the nhtsa will monitor each safety recall to make sure owners receive safe, free, and effective remedies from manufacturers according to the safety act and federal regulations, than why are they not addressing this?although my car had 293000 miles on it it could have made another 200000 miles if hyundai motor america would have taken steps to correct this?after sending an email (will upload) they seemed to question me on the vehicle but after learning a junked the car they appear to take the stand that that owe me nothing not even the time of day, and i would like to file a formal complaint against hyundai motor america for lack effort to resolve this issue as this year alone i have gotten 5 recall notices stating no repair available?

The vehicle had the alternator replaced twice after receiving an unknown recall notification. Recently, allen turner hyundai (6501 pensacola blvd, pensacola, fl 32505, (850) 479-9667) was made aware of the recall and informed the contact that the remedy was not yet available. 2007 hyundai veracruz.consumer writes in regards to engine stalling problems.consumer sent additional correspondence.the consumer was informed the alternator was filled with oil, which caused an internal short.the dealer informed the consumer, the alternator, valve and bank cover gaskets needed to be replaced. The consumer received a recall notice, two months later for the exact problem she experienced. Updated 11/04/15.

On multiple occasions i have had difficulties with the esc in my car.the first time the esc light came on and caused the car to not shift out of reverse.after multiple attempts, it finally worked but the esc had to be fixed. In summer 2010 i was driving down the road and the esc light came on, the car completely stopped in the middle of the road, steering locked up, and no power to accelerate the car. I had to turn the car completely off (while still in the middle of a busy road) and turn the car back on.i took it straight to the dealership and they again replaced the esc stating the button needed replaced.after almost a year, last week i was driving down the road again and the exact same thing happened to the car.this time, the dealer states its throttle position sensor and accelerator pedal issue and both are going to be replaced. I reviewed information on the internet for the same issues i was having and found that the hyundai sonata 2007 model has several complaints for the same reason and the car stopping, locking up with no steering, and having to shut the vehicle off and back on to get it working. At this point, while they are telling me the car is fixed and safe, i do not trust or feel comfortable driving. The safety feature of the esc has now become a safety hazard and i cannot trust it will not happen again.

Regarding service brakes, hydraulic: switches: brake lightrecall for 2007 hyundai veracruz, nhtsa reference #09v122000. My 2007 veracruz suffers from some of the exact problems described in the recall but is not included in the recall. The recall describes the following: "a stop lamp switch malfunction may also affect the operation of the brake-transmission shift interlock feature so the transmission shifter would not be able to be shifted out of the park position. It may also cause the electronic stability control (esc) malfunction light to illuminate." for the past 3 years the esc light on my 2007 veracruz has illuminated periodically while driving or when starting the car, and it will remain on until the engine is shut off. Pressing the esc on/off button on the dash will not shut the light off while in park or driving. Turning the car off is the only way to turn the light off. I contacted the local hyundai dealer and described the problem, their answer was that the light illuminating is normal and not to worry. Also, for the past 3 months, periodically the automatic transmission shifter will not shift out of park. You must shut off and restart the car a few times for the transmission to operate.i believe that these problems are directly related to the recall and my veracruz should be included so that my vehicle operates properly. Thank you.

Abs, awd and esc lights coming on and staying on at 90,000 miles.the issue is a faulty rear wheel speed sensor.dealer wants $1,200 to replace the sensor!they claim the sensor cannot be replaced without replacing the rear axle.this is a terrible safety issue to have over an inexpensive sensor.it is ridiculous that the axle must be replaced to replace the sensor.

A stop lamp switch malfunction may also affect the operation of the brake-transmission shift interlock feature so the transmission shifter would not be able to be shifted out of the park position. It may also cause the electronic stability control (esc) malfunction light to illuminate, and it may not deactivate the cruise control when the brake pedal is depressed.

Esc off light is illuminated and shifter will not move out of reverse gear.

Esc light came on, gear shift will not come out of park, drive or reverse unless gearshift release button is pushed. Esc light being on results in shifter not moving, no brake lights, no reverse light at any time. This recall was made in 2009 was repaired and the same issue has returned but hyundai will not fix it because the recall is closed. It is campaign 092 stop lamp replacement. This problem affects brakes and brake lights so while driving other drivers have no idea when you are stopping or slowing down. This is extremely dangerous. The fact that it has been recalled once fixed and is doing the same thing again should mean another recall and different fix for the vehicles. Hyundai was notified yet refuses to fix it because it has already been fixed once. We were told to have it fixed and we could possibly receive a refund. This issue is continuous and happens while parked, on the highway, and city streets.

My esc off light keeps coming on the dashboard causing the car to not shift out of park. There was a recall of the stop lamp switch which was performed in 2009. I read in a newspaper article that there is an update to this recall which will be performed starting in june 2013. Dealer refused to perform the recall work at this time and hyundai usa states that the recall (campaign 110) is not valid for 2007 vehicles, only 2008-2009. I am very concerned, this is a serious safety issue and hyundai refuses to repair my vehicle.

I have had issues with my car being in drive and then when i stop not being able to get it to go into park. The esc light is also on.

On september 2, 2014, my son was driving to work when our 2007 hyundai veracruz's engine shut down. He was able to coast to a repair shop near his work. They diagnosed the problem to be the timing belt, the estimated repair cost was $1,650.00, because a screw had broken off which required additional repair in addition to the timing belt replacement. The repair shop manager offered to purchase the car at a very reduced price ($1600.00), which we accepted. My son used the funds as a down payment on a new car.approximately three weeks later, i received a safety recall letter from hyundai concerning our recently sold veracruz (nhtsa campaign number 14v-415). The letter included a section explaining reimbursement consideration for previous repairs. The recall involves engine oil leaking onto the alternator and damaging it along with the vehicle charging center. We have replaced our alternator three times and had a major electrical shutdown just two years after purchasing the vehicle.i called the customer care center to explain our situation. I was told thatbecause we had sold the vehicle, we were not eligible for repair (obviously) or repair reimbursement. I strongly believe that i have paid over $2,000.00 over the years for repairs quite possibly caused by this problem. In addition, i believe the timing belt issue which led to the final $1650.00 repair estimate may have been due to this recall problem. Maybe not. Undoubtedly, the constant engine problems made me feel like i had purchased a lemon. Now i know why.please advise me on how to proceed with my complaint. I have all of the receipts from the previous repairs and can provide them upon request. The vehicle vin # is [xxx]. Thank you for your assistance. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Valve cover gasket failed, leaked oil onto alternator, causing alternator failure.

The check engine light is coming on and staying on while driving.

Replace bulbs in head lights front and back and alternater and valve cover gaskets

I sent a complaint approximately a monthago and received a confirmation. Haven' t heard any followup fromhyundai although they were supposed to send a remedy notice. I sold the vehicle at a very reduced price when it wasn't running and the repair may have been necessary due to the recall issue. Please let me know if i have any recourse, because i believe many of my repairs on this vehicle may be traceable to the recall problem. I have the repair receipts going back several years. Thank you.

2007 veracruz alternator valve cover gasket defect.*mwthe consumer stated on october 4, 2013, the vehicle staled in rush hour traffic. A tow truck was able to start the vehicle when the booster battery was disconnected. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The consumer was informed the valve cover gasket leaked oil onto the alternator and destroyed it.the alternator and the valve rocker cover was replaced at a cost of $758.46.

The valve cover gasket is leaking oil on to the alternator. The alternator is covered in oil, possibly causing it to short out which could lead to a loss of power while driving. This is a dangerous condition.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. While driving the vehicle, the contact heard a clanking noise coming from the steering wheel.

Recall from hyundai: an oil leak from the front cylinder bank valve cover gasket could cause enough oil to drop onto the alternator to damage it, resulting in a failure of the charging system. If the alternator is damaged, the charging system warning lamp in the instrument cluster will illuminate, causing the engine to lose power and the vehicle to stop running; an unexpected engine failure while driving increases the risk of a crash.the manufacturer is not telling owners that this recall eventually causes the failure of the engine as it happened to me and i have now been without a car for more than 3 weeks, waiting to hear from hyundai corporate if they are going to fix the problem. So far, they have not indicated anything. As the oil is leaking, the car never operate at the optimal amount of oil, causing friction in the engine which eventually blocked the pump sending the oil to the top of the engine in my car. Hyundai has been unresponsive to help rectify the situation. Calling on the safety bureau for actions and will be seeking legal advice since my rental bills are adding up. I had to change my alternator twice, prior to the dealer having to change it twice as well within 4 years due to excessive leakage of oil.

I have contacted hyundai motors regarding the recall that was released november of 2020 because my car has became inoperable due to the recall . Oil has leaked into my alternator causing the charging symptom not to work so now the car wonā€™t start . I have tried to find a possible solution until the remedy is available. The recall has been released for over 7 months now . I am not able to financially afford the repairs on this car right now . They told me that i could pay to have the car repaired until the remedy is available. If i needed a loaner car from hyundai until the remedy was available i would have to pay out of pocket for the expenses . I have not driven my car in about 2 months now due to the issue

My hyundai veracruz shut off while i was making a turn.i lost power steering and just averted hitting a concrete block holding a sign.prior to the shut down, i started losing acceleration even though i had my foot on the gas.the car had to be towed to the hyundai dealership, baltimore pike, springfield, pa.i couldn't even get the key out of the ignition.it was horrible and scary.a few months ago i lost acceleration and the car started running rough - engine light came on.i took it to same dealership above and was told it was anoxygen sensor.i told them i thought it was the throttle position sensor because i went online and found several other veracruz owners who had experienced what i had experienced with their vera cruz.towing and accidents were involved.they said they could only replace what the computer told them to.why didn't hyundai recall the veracruz and replace the throttle sensor to eliminate someone getting killed.maybe someone has been -i'll continue to do research.i should have never been allowed to be insuch a serious situation - hyundai knows about the problem - i feel not replacing the throttle sensor is negligent. Ijust hope that by replacing the throttle sensor, the problem will be completely fixed.right now my veracruz is still at the dealership - they also had to replace the alternator and battery as a result of what happened.however, they are charging me for the battery - should not be but the warranty on the battery is up. I want this documented because of the danger involved.the2007 veracruz is a timebomb waiting to go off and it scares me to think of what could have happened or what still could happen. Thank you, susan collins

First incident: 3/18/2011 & 16638 mileage : alternator shorted out at 65 mph on interstate 95resulting in extreme power loss, veryhard steering and difficult, unsafe vehicle control whichfinally ended in complete loss of power. Car towed to dealer which diagnosed an undetected oil leak from thevalve cover dripped into alternator causing it to short out.

My altenater went out and there's alot of oil on it and it went out in phoenix az

Headlights have black space between high and low beams. I have had car to dealer and they tried to adjust. Still has black line between high and low beam.

The 2007 hyundai veracruz high and low beam headlights cannot be independently adjusted and leave a dark "gap" between the lighted areas.the driver cannot see anything (traffic signs, road hazards, etc) in the "gap."

My 2007 hyundai veracruz has defective, and potentially unsafe, headlight aiming.a significant number of oncoming vehicles are flashing their lights at me, even though i only have my low beams on.also, the area ahead is not adequately lighted, when i do have my high beams on.something is definitely wrong with the way these headlights are designed, and something definitely needs to be done, before someone is seriously hurt, or worse!(yes, i took it to the dealership, and they say there's nothing they can do about it).

Vehicle continues to have the same problem to this day. During a turn (left or right) at night when the turn signal is activated the headlights go out. Only jiggling the turn signal stalk will restore the headlights. Problem also occurs during signaling for lane changes at highway speeds. Problem has been reported to the hyundai dealership. No suggested action has been offered to date.

The contact stated that the electronic stability control light was illuminated and the vehicle was difficult to shift into gear.additionally, the brake lights would not illuminate. Nhtsawe purchased a hyundai vera cruz on 04/02/2008 from cocoa hyundai inc. 304 s. Cocoa blvd, cocoa, fl 32922we noticed that the headlights were shining into the middle of the trees on our street and the high beams even higher.we took the car to the dealer to have it repaired.the repair they did had the headlights shining directly on the road in front of the car, only elimination 15 to 20 feet of roadway. My wife ran over a dog, because she could not see it in the roadway until it was too late.the dealer has made 5 attempts to re aim the headlights in this car and failed each time.now we have been left with the headlights shining directly ahead into the eyes of the oncoming traffic and the roadway in front of the car dark.i think this is extremely dangerous.i am in the process of filing a motor vehicle defect notification with the manufacturer.this car was the 'demo' sold to us as a new car. I am starting to think that someone had an accident with this car and the dealer fixed it not mentioning that to us, and this is the reason they cannot aim the headlights properly.i would appreciate any help you could give in resolving this issue.thank youjack ehleiter

We test drove a 2007 veracruz and noticed a distinct horizontal line right in the field of vision especially on dark roads. The line separated bright headlight light below it and darkness above it.we were constantly trying to look below the line for a full view of light. The low beams did not appear to give enough upper light to light up road signs or the road ahead yet oncoming drivers constantly flashed their beams for us to lower our high beams which were not on.turning on the high beams the light did nothing for the road and simply lit up the trees.we purchased a differentveracruz and the headlights reacted exactly the same way. An online forum shows that other veracruz owners experience the same problem.on january 7, 2008 we brought the headlight issue to the attention of the service center. The associate there indicated that there were no technical service bulletins on the headlights and that they would have us meet with the area hyundai representative when he comes in on january 15, 2008.while waiting in the service area to speak to the representative the associate approached us and apologized for inconveniencing us because the representative advised him that he was aware of the headlight issue and we would not need to meet with him. At our insistence the representative met with us and said hyundai is aware if the issues with the headlights and it is a common problem on all veracruzes. In fact he said he drives a veracruz and has seen the horizontal line that we mentioned. Asked what hyundai was doing to correct the problem he replied nothing. He said hyundai assumes that the problem is nature to the high output lights used and they do not intend to do anything about it.a letter of complaint to the vice presidents of service and sales at hyundai went unanswered.

Since the purchase of my vehicle in 2007, i have experienced a safety issue with the design of the headlight system of my 2007 veracruz. The low beams have a horizontal cutoff and do not adequately illuminate signs, etc. At a medium to near distance. The high beams do not illuminate the roadway at all and are aimed way too high. The problem is the headlights are designed so that they cannot be aimed separately. Therefore, an attempt to lower the high beams will result in a lowering of the low beams which compounds the problem with the low beams and vice-versa. After several visits to two different dealers, they finally removed the mechanism that binds the high and low beams together which has resulted in a partial improvement (the high beams can be lowered to the point where they are effective). The low beams, however, cannot be raised sufficiently to read signs because that results in a dim beam on the roadway.

Low and high beam headlights are linked on the 2007 hyundai verzcruz such that they are not adjustable separately.there is a noticeable gap in coverage between the low and high beams making driving at night unsafe.it is impossible to adjust headlights so that both high and low beams are functional.if low beams are adjusted properly, high beams are in opposing drivers' faces or in the trees.if high beams are adjusted properly, low beams do not provide enough light for safe driving.manufacturer says it is aware of the problem but does not have a fix and does not intend to do anything about it.

Purchased a 2007 hyundai veracruz and upon first use of headlights, found same aimed low with no light beyond 100'. Use of high beam caused on-comming cars to flash high beams due to my high beams to high. Dealer was unable to correct problem and provided repair manual for my use. Same was not similer to adjustments on car. Finally adjusted low beams, but high beams are in the trees, providing at best a most dangerous lack of adequate light to drive. Dealer finally has stated that both high and low beams are linked and cannot be adjusted seperately. Internet blogs state hyundai and some dealers have a recall/fix but no firm evidence of same.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz.the contact stated that the high and low beams were defective.the headlights provide very poor illumination at night or whenever they are needed.the dealer stated that the headlights were adjusted, but the contact could not tell the difference.he called the dealer regarding a servicebulletin and they stated that there were no records of a service bulletin for that year, make, and model vehicle.they stated that nothing further could be done other than readjust the lights.the vin and failure mileage were unknown.the current mileage was 10,000.updated 02-14-08 updated 02/14/08

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz.while driving 70 mph, the vehicle shut off and lost total power.the contact was able to coast over three lanes into the emergency lane.he shut off the vehicle for fifteen minutes before restarting it and drove to the nearest gas station.the contact filled up the gas tank and continued driving.the contact scheduled an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed.he believes the cause of the failure was the fuel pump and filed a complaint with hyundai (case number 3328313).the current and failure mileages were 3,961.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).the fuel pump on 2007 hyundai veracruz fuel pump is not properly functioning to suv potential. Avg 12.6.after several investigation from people that have change the fuel pump has increase their performance sizeable fuel savings.if you read in several of reports from customer that own veracruz they have reported consistently the same problem.my question is why are they so reluctant to do anything with the fuel problem.i hope you will see if there is real need to make changes. The engine just quit while i was driving on the freeway during morning rush-hour.there was suddenly no response when accelerator was depressed.i managed to glide across 2 freeway lanes to exit freeway while car decelerated.this occurred on oct 7, 2008. I don't recall if at the off ramp red light, the car completely stopped and i restarted it or was barely idling.i do recall the car barely driving (it was trembling/rough idling) the few feet from the red light to the first gas station.i parked it and it would not start up.hyundai towed it to their dealership.mechanic diagnosed the problem was:"the throttle body has failed and needs to be replaced."i haven't experienced this again--and had not experienced it before this incident.while i managed to avoid crashing into other vehicles going 50-70 mph when i glided across the lanes, this was a terrifying experience.(i am submitting this complaint 1-1/2 years after the mechanical failure only because of the serious problems toyota customers have experienced w/sudden acceleration, etc.i just want to ensure that nhtsa was informed by hyundai back in 2008 of my potentially deadly engine failure on a freeway during rush-hour traffic.i think they should have had a duty to report this serious failure to you, and if they did, great.in case they didn't, now you know.)

My car was in an accident and was totaled iand none of the airbags deployed resulting in injury to my daughtershe was driving east on park boulevard and another car traveling the same direction was in the left-hand turn lane and decided not to turn and pulled out and she had him.

Previously, my 2007 veracruz limited had a check engine light illuminate on 8/20/08 while my wife was driving with our young daughter car.the car jolted and vibrated and would not accelerate. I was advised by the local dealer the car had a throttle warning code 2106, but that it cycled through and was fine without repair.the dealer stated they test drove it for 30 miles to ensure there were no issues, and then returned the car to us.following that the car was driven without incident until it occurred again on 9/17/08, with my wife driving our young daughter again. This time i was told the following errors appeared:2135 - throttle body 2106 - ?1295 - ? i was advised a service bulletin had been issued to dealers in february for this, and they were authorized to replace the throttle body unit, which would take care of everything. The dealer stated they had replaced the unit on 3-4 cars to date and that it took care of the issue i was having. Following the throttle body unit replacement, we had no further issues until last night.on the way home from dinner, my wife was driving our daughter again, the same incident occurred, 6/26/09.this makes three times in less than a year.i have noticed this seems to be a common issue based on similar reports of other owners in online forums.this is the third time this has occurred.fortunately there were not any injuries or damage. My primary concern is the safety and security of my wife and daughter.if she had been passing on a two lane highway this could have been fatal.i note that from postings on online forums there have been accidents due to this issue.

The valve cover gasket is leaking oil on to the alternator. The alternator is covered in oil, possibly causing it to short out which could lead to a loss of power while driving. This is a dangerous condition.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact recharged the battery in order to start the vehicle. On a different occasion, while driving 15 mph, the battery light flashed and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to restart and became stuck in the drive gear. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.

Esc off light is illuminated and shifter will not move out of reverse gear.

I have had issues with my car being in drive and then when i stop not being able to get it to go into park. The esc light is also on.

Esc off light stays on despite pushing button to turn on esc, until restart then will go off. Also have problem with gear shifter not wanting to shift as if it is sticky. Here again turn off and back on problem goes away comes back with esc off problem. This problem starts off as car is being driven.

Thank you.

Vehicle has hadtwo throttle body assemblies changed by the dealer.in addition, there have been multiple (in excess of 8 dealer visits) over the past two years.the check engine light illuminates--then there is an unresponsive throttle--sometimes incapacitating the vehicle.other times during normal driving--the throttle becomes unreliable.intermittently the throttle is unresponsive when depressed normally then the vehicle surges forward.this makes throttle modulation almost impossible at times. Sometimes from a complete stop--the throttle hesitates then surges--almost resulting in hitting the vehicle in front.the vehicle makes merging in normal traffic or lane changes unpredictable.dealer has made multiple attempts to correct.told by dealership after a complete software revision installed in 11-09 that the vehicle was one of only three in the nation having this problem.with the throttle response being frequently unresponsive and unpredictable the vehicle is unsafe.

Vehicle frequently is locked into gear, recently stuck in park while blocking a busy drive-thru. The vehicle has also become stuck in drive making in nearly imposible to safely leave the vehicle parked in our enclosed garage. This has become a frequently occuring issue and more of a safety issue than we previously thought.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz.while driving between 35- 45 mph, the vehicle began to jerk back and forth.the entire vehicle began to shake momentarily once it came to a stop.after the failure occurs, the vehicle operates normally for approximately two weeks.the failure is intermittent and the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current mileage was 14,728 and failure mileage was 7,832.updated 05/28/08the failure had been diagnosed and it was determined that the vehicle needed a software update.updated 05/28/08

Ought used hyundai veracruz 2007 model on oct/29/2008. Mileage was 8,700, now mileage was 12,770. On april 23 2009 while i was on tonnele ave jersey city nj, i noticed that my suv's speed getting slower and when i given gas it not responding, and engine sign appeared on odometers took manhattan ave to get jfk blvd. I stopped at the intersection of jfk and manhattan ave due to red light, after green light i made right turn, i lost control, suv drove into driveway and after hitting two cars my suv stopped. Thanks god no one injured.on manhattan ave when traffic green. Made right turn, my suv traveled on less than 5 yards i noticed that my brakes are not working , steering wheel also not moving to control suv. At the time accident my speed was less than 5 mph. And bright shining day, no raining or snowing.

Hyundai 2007 veracruz limited.does not downshift properly.on multiple occasions i have had to slow my speed in freeway congestion and the car does not downshift, even with tapping on the brake.the car stays in 5th or 6th gear to speeds as low as 20 mph.i have literally had to stop the car completely to get it to shift down.the car has no power to move quickly when necessary in these conditions (such as for a lane change).additionally, the car does not shift properly at approximately 30-40 mph and the engine lugs, causing a very bumpy ride and near stalls on hills .this condition occurs with driving on inclines, in stop-and-go traffic such as freeway slow-downs, and with around-town driving at a standard municipal speed of 30-35 mph.i have had my car to two different hyundai dealerships for diagnosis and service on five separate occasions.despite that two mechanics, two service managers, one general manager, and the factory representative have all ridden in the car and verified the condition, the fact that the computer cannot diagnose a specific problem has resulted in zero repairs and zero resolution to this problem.mechanics have speculated that the torque converter is not functioning properly, that the vehicle needs a new computer, and possibly that it needs an entirely new transmission but the factory representative will not authorize such repairs. He is relying entirely on a computer diagnosis instead of human logic and common sense. I am currently pursuing the lemon law in my state and hyundai's current position is that "there is nothing wrong" with the car and they will do nothing further.

I gave my son a ride to the airport, he put his child car seat in the rear back seat. When we got to the airport and went to take the carseat out to take it on the airplane. The release would not work. After 15 minutes or trying to get the seatbelt off and the police telling me i cannot stay there any longer we cut the belt. I have not contacted the dealer yet but will this week.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. While the brake pedal was depressed, the brake lights did not illuminate. The contact mentioned that the brake was not registering with the vehicle when the brake pedal was released. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake lamp switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact was aware that the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 09v122000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Replace bulbs in head lights front and back and alternater and valve cover gaskets

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. The contact stated that the electronic stability control light was illuminated and the vehicle was difficult to shift into gear.additionally, the brake lights would not illuminate. The contact stated the defect was not repaired.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Car's rear passenger side caliper grabbed the brakes, started to wear rotor. We replaced caliper hose, which we thought fixed the problem. Feb 10 2014, started noticing odor. Got worse on 2/16, brought car into brake place on a sunday. Replaced the rotors, manually tested calipers, which seemed fine. 2/22, smelled same brake metal smell; brought car back in, they saw rotor was again worn blue from heat, and they replaced caliper and rotor again. Same smell on 2/25, after driving car only ~30 miles.caliper apparently again malfunctioning.

The vehicle got harder and harder to put in and out of gear until it would not come out of park until you slammed on the brakes a few times and turned the engine on and off. Then when you got to your destination you couldn't get the car back in park without the same routine. Brake light switch was out. But the dash lights started blinking on and off. Took it to the hyundai dealership and it turned out front and rear valve covers gaskets had leaked and dumped oil onto the alternator causing it to burn up. Very expensive repairs and possibly dangerous situation to be in.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracuz. The contact stated that when applying the brakes, the abs would engage and cause an increase in stopping distance. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing however, there were no defects detected with the braking system. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 93,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. While the vehicle was parked, the shifter failed to move from the park position. The dealer stated that the stop lamp switch was defective. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred five times. The dealer repaired the vehicle each time. The contact was informed of nhtsa campaign number: 09v122000 (service brakes). The manufacturer was notified of the failures, but refused to assist because the recall remedy was already performed once. The failure mileage was 10,000.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. While turning the vehicle, the steering wheel seized without warning. The contact had to exert force to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.

Rack and pinion assembly leaking the power steering fluid from both side boots. The fluid is spraying underand on the tires. Very unsafe to drive due to a possible loss of traction. The undercarriage is completely covered with over-spray. Front valve cover gasket leaking engine oil. The dealer promised to repair both problems.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. While driving the vehicle, the contact heard a clanking noise coming from the steering wheel. The contact mentioned that the noise also was present when driving over bumps in the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the rack and pinion steering failed. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact indicated that oil leaked onto the alternator causing the alternator warning light to illuminate. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 60,000.

We were driving down the road about 45 miles an hour and the moonroof went flying off, there were cars outback of us and we were lucky it didn`t hit anyone, we put cardboard and plastic with duct tape for now

My car was in an accident and was totaled iand none of the airbags deployed resulting in injury to my daughtershe was driving east on park boulevard and another car traveling the same direction was in the left-hand turn lane and decided not to turn and pulled out and she had him.

Wheel bearings failing every 30,000 or so miles.have had the car in 3 times for new hubs in 4 years.i believe there is a manufacturing design defect in the hubs causing these frequent failures.contacted hyundai regarding trade in assistance to get me out of this car believing it might be this particular vehicle or the model but they are not interested in providing assistance.bearing should last 100,000 miles, minimum.

Vehicle stopped responding to gas pedal, followed by check engine light. Vehicle had to be towed to service center. Dealer replaced the throttle position sensor (tps), also refered as the accelerator position sensor (aps). The tps has failed 3 times in the last 3 years requiring towing vehicle out of traffic each time.

The check engine light is coming on and staying on while driving.

My esc off light came on and i could not shift out of park.i could hear clicking in the wheel..hit cruise control and wiggled the wheel and it finally went to drive.it would go into nuetral or drive and wouldn't go into park.i put it in neutral and put the e-brake on and turned the key off but of course the key wouldn't come out of the ignition because of this...wouldn't go into reverse. It eventually does after fulling with it. Read about a recall on the cable or some lamp or esc lighting or something in 2007-2009 hyundai veracruz's but it is not under my vin. I have seen lots of complaints on this defect/issue!please help? explain? thank you!

2 times had the alternator replace due to a oil gasket leak which was on a recall. After the repairs were done a few months later vehicle was loosing power light coming on while driving.,went back and forth to the dealer for the issue, they advised battery, had new battery put in vehicle, the power still continue, then was told needed a tensioner and serpentine belt as this was being replace the tech stated oil was leaking from the timing cover which damage the the alternator for the third time. I contacted the corporate of hyundai and explained the problem and felt that this as well was part of the recall due to the fact that oil was leaking from behind the timing cover (which would not be apparent) the only way to know is once the vehicle shuts down on you) i feel that this is a safety issue.hyundai representative stated that they would investigate and get back to me, took 2 weeks to hear back from them to advise that the warranty was up and that there was no coverage. I could not quite understand what a warranty would matter in a situation of this nature that was out of my control so i had no choice but to pay the dealership $2,271 to have the vehicle repaired. I strongly feel that this should be covered. I have just recently took vehicle in again for a different recall.really hyundai this isn't right.

This is in regards to nhtsa recall number 20v-705, hyundai recall number 197.this recall began in november of 2020.i received my first of 5 total letters back in december.my most recent letter was received on 5/15/2021.all letters state the same information, that the previously recalled engine seal could potentially fail, causing oil to leak on the alternator.my vehicle is one of those affected vehicles.i have oil leaking onto my alternator currently and have had it for about 8 months.there still is no remedy.it has been 6 months and still no remedy.i have tried to get my vehicle into two of my local hyundai dealerships to confirm, but both said they won't look at it since there is no remedy available.my oil leak started before the second recall on this issue.my personal mechanic told me that hyundai should fix it again since the recall obviously didn't work.hyundai said the original recall was complete, and they won't replace the failed seal again for free.the remedy needs to be found sooner than later, or hyundai will be replacing alternators as well as seals.there needs to

Unknown. Found oil leaking from somewhere. Don't want to drive.

When traveling at speeds of 25 to 35 miles an hour through residential areas the vehicle sputters and the check engine light comes on. I took it to the dealer in marlton, nj but the check engine light had gone off and they stated that they could not do diagnostic test if the engine light is not on (that makes no sense to me). This happened at 112,000 miles and it is still happening now at 140,000 miles with no resolve. I've had the spark plugs changed, the battery and alternator changed and had the mechanic ride with me in the vehicle to witness the issue. When the vehicle sputtered with the mechanic in the car they still could not explain to me what is the cause. I asked if they could check the fuel pump, but yet again they stated that without the check engine light on they would not be able to run a test as they need to know the code that is registering for the error.

The contact owns a 2007 hyundai veracruz. The contact stated that the electronic throttle control warning light intermittently illuminated and the accelerator pedal became stiff. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.

Takata recall - windshield wiper blade went out because it appears that the nut that fastens the transmission is not secure enough causing the blade to be totally inoperable. Even when the nut is refastened or replaced, it will loosen during an expected rain season that requires much use. It is likely the standard nut for this device could be replaced by a lock nut.

Purchased vehicle january 2, 2015. My front windshield wiper went completely out on its own in march. The dealer i made the purchase service department made an adjustment that was never sufficient. In fact, i brought it back to the mechanic 4 times without have to leave the lot. He mentioned that there was a defect in it and that i would have to purchase a used motor that cost $350.00 plus $68.00 for installation. It is only sold a motor + transmission not motor only. The is a nation back order and only one company has it!!! this is recall or "give me my money back" if i ever heard of one. Whew, thank you for your attention.
