While driving the car at 5 mph for no reason the side and curtain airbags exploded!

I was parking in a parking garage and had to make a right turn into a space with cars on both sides.when i normally park, my foot is over the brake and i tap the brake as i go in.in this case, as soon as i began turning right, my car took off like a shot.it felt like a car being floored.i barely missed one of the cars and slammed into a concrete wall, making a 4 x 6 hole in the wall and setting off the air bag in the steering wheel.the car was smoking and i immediately shut it off so there would be no fire.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai tucson. While driving 10 mph, the contact made a left turn and struck another vehicle on the front bumper. The air bags deployed approximately five minutes after the crash. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

At times on the road the car loose power and in a highway that you can go 70 i can only go probably 45mph because it seems as it can not go over that mileage.i have to try hard to go even 55mph.it happened since while ago and i thought it was because it was brand new out of the box.i took to the dealer potamkin in manhattan, ny where i purchased and they said it was because of the "economic" button.a separate mechanic said it is indeed not normal. Also the air conditioning broke 7/2017 and i had to pay to the dealer for repair.all because i did not want to miss work to file complaint, etc.i have paperwork for all this.

I took my car to jiffy lube on july 8th to have the oil changed on august 27th that vehicle stopped running i found out this was because of lack of oil never at any time that a service engine light soon or check oil light come on. And they are still not to this day. There has to be a problem with the sensors. I was driving the car at that time and had to have it towed home.

Vehicle was being driven and was alerted that smoke was emerging from the engine and then a pop was heard, car was pulled to the side and shut off. Opened hood and engine was on fire and wouldnt stop. Bystanders tried helping but fire couldnt be contained and the entire tucson engulfed in flames. Hyundai claimed no recalls for that model and couldnt help in any way. Vehicle was completly factory with 0 aftermarket modifications. 2015 hyundai tucson.

While driving my car it came to a sudden stop at no time did any service engine light or oil light appeared upon having my car towed home i felt there was no oil in the engine. The oil was just changed july 8th of 2017. My car stopped running august 27th a 2017. I don't understand why i never got a service engine soon or don't understand why the oil light did not appear.

With the 2015 hyundai tucson, within 12 hours of owning the car and driving it off the dealership lot,we experienced issues with the key indicator blinking while attempting to start the car and car would not start at work.it started fine at home an mostly anywhere else.only by pressing the fob itself on push button start, did car start at work parking lot.if fob not pressed onto push button, would not start.dealership replaced key fob and batteries, did not fix problem.service department member accompanied us to parking lot, experienced same issue in work parking lot.with assistance from security guards at work, realized this issue only occurred when parking next to a solar panel on a sunny day at work parking lot.to compensate for issue now, car is parked farther away from office building as it was discovered solar panels on light pole interfered with antenna for key.service dept member from hyundai said they believe they saw an email/service bulletin referencing such an issue, and did not suggest any remediation except tp park away from the light pole.our workaround has been to park away from solar panel light poles or cover the sensor on the top of the dashboard. This hyundai dealership's solution was to send an email with the hyundai corporate phone number for further escalation.this is a huge concern for us as more houses and companies are erecting solar panels, and now will we have to pick where we park our tucson based on if a solar panel is nearby. If you live near solar panels, don't buy a tucson with a push button star.

I purchased this car november 8 2014 with 99 miles on it. We've had severe issues with it in the last year. We've had it to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and they've been in communication with hyundai in order to fix it. There was no solutions, just "try this & see if it works." in july 2016 i started having medical issues, we've had issues with the vehicle not wanting to start. At first it wasn't wanting to start & then the check engine light came on. We took it to our local dealership and there was a recall on it for the exhaust system, they claimed that was the issue. So that recall was preformed and the light went off. Low and behold the issue was not corrected, the car still had episodes where it would not start. The issue was not something the service department could re-create. Second trip to the dealership for the same issue and they replaced the inhibitor switch, and that also has not worked. Now the check engine light is on again but the code is coming back as the purge valve. The car currently has no power and feels as if the motor could die at any second. I travel away about twice a month for various specialist doctor appointments. My vehicle has left me stranded there several times. I no longer feel my vehicle is safe or dependable for myself or any of my 3 children to be transported in it. I have contacted the hyundai company directly but no response from them as of yet. For a 2015 model vehicle this may issues is ridiculous!! my husband and i are very disappointed and will never own another hyundai vehicle!

First time ever my vehicle quit while i was driving after having it for 3 years. I took great care of my vehicle.i had to get a tow truck to tow my 2015 hyundai tuscon limited to dealership.i was told it is external component worn out and it will be a week before they can give me an answer.really???i asked if this is normal.wouldn't give me an answer. They cannot provide a loaner car.i think i need to go with dealership that provide a loaner car. I am do my research to see if i should continue buying hyundai or go with different ford or chevy

The vehicle losses power when trying to accelerate. It will also not shift in gear when suppose to. This vehicle has always been well maintained and serviced. Out of nowhere all of this happened when traveling home from a trip. The vehicle could not even make it up a hill because the power was completely lost.

The car was parked in the driveway friday 11/23/2018 at about 3:30 pm.the next day, sat, 11/24/2018 about 12:45, a boy banged on the front door of the house and told wife the car was on fire. She came and got me from the back yard and i ran around to the driveway. I seen flames around the driver's side rear quarter, the wheel well, and the gas cap. I grabbed a fire extinguisher from the garage and sprayed it at the gas cap area. The wife said the fire department was on their way. I used the extinguisher and the wife brought me another one. I used them to try and keep the gas cap cool. The fire department came and i moved my truck from parked next to the tucson to across the street and out of the way of the fire department.the car had not been started or even unlocked since it was parked the day before.

Hyundai recall. I am a 65 years old, i purchased this car on nov 2018 andas i was driving to work on the highway, the car caught on fire, the flames came through the floor panel and through the vents. My entire area where the gas & brake pedal are burned up, the radio area and console area is charred beyond recognition.by the time the fire department arrived, the entire car was in flames.

I have a hyundai tucson that has a recall notice. I live in juneau alaska where there are no hyundai dealers. I contacted hyundai and spoke with some very nice people who could not help me because of a casemanager named gretchen. Gretchen wanted me to have the vehicle shipped to the nearest hyundai dealer. That would be impossible because juneau has no road network and barge costs would be about four thousand dollars. I spoke with gretchen about the dilemma. She was rude and demanded i find a way to get the vehicle to the nearest hyundai dealer. I explained this is not what i was told when i bought the car. I asked gretchen for her supervisors contact information. She told me she was over all alaska and had no supervision. I called the hyundai customer care center and spoke with tabitha who could not help me because of gretchen and gretchen was the only one who could give her supervisors number. At this point i have a recalled vehicle that the manufacturer refuses to service. Can anyone help?

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai tucson. While driving 45 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle experienced a brief loss of power and the stability control warning indicator illuminated on two occasions. The vehicle was brought to the dealer where it could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred approximately five times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,800.

My car just stopped running. No warning lights. No noise from engine. I was driving home i loomed up problem on internet and found many issues like mine which resulted in recalls for some. My car year was mentioned but my vin came up cleani think a recall is in order

While the car was stationary, our oil light came on. When we took it to the mechanic he said the issue was actually the engine and it would need to be replaced. Mechanic towed it to the hyundai dealership and they confirmed it needs a new engine.

On numerous occasions oil filter has blown out leaving me with no oil in the engine.most recently, it happened when i was passing another vehicle at aprox. 37 mph on a state road.i am uncertain the cause of the incident where i lost all of the engine oil but i would hazard to guess the system which controls oil pressure is not working properly and the pressure get so high for the increased rpm needs it blowes out the weakest point.

I have a 2015 hyundai tucson, the oil burns really fast. I have to get an oil change every month or the car will start making a loud noise. I only have 69000 miles on it. The dealership at this point dont know what to do

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai tucson. While driving 45 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine before it blew out. The vehicle was taken to heritage hyundai towson (801 york rd, towson, md 21204, 877-387-5495) where it was diagnosed that the engine failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided claim number: 11286287. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

Driving down the road and suddenly the check engine light came one and the engine started producing a knocking sound. I called several dealerships and had a couple of them run the vin, which they said there are no recalls. However one dealer had mentioned that hyundai vehicles, including tucsons are starting to come in at astonishing rates with the same problem i have. I called hyundai usa and they said there have been some known issues with engine failure describing the same problems mine has along with some known to have increased oil consumption, but they do not know why. They even said that sometimes the owners would not know of the increase in oil consumption and it could in turn cause engine fires. Any dealership i have contacted said due to the increase of vehicles brought in with the same problem, they are unable to even look at my vehicle for a month and to repair is possibly several months out.

Engine knock .. Took to mechanic and diagnose that number 1 piston starving for oil and engine needs to to replaced and the extreme damaged could of caused a fire and killed me and my family if i didn't shut off when i did

I was driving down the highway. Without any prior indication of error, or any sensor reading that something was wrong with the engine, the engine started making a loud rattling noise and the rpms increased. I slowed down a bit, and continued driving. The engine this seized completely and died. Luckily i was able to pull over to the side of the road and call for help, but the engine is completely unresponsive.

The vehicle suddenly reduced power on 05/27/2021 while my 82-year old mother was driving home.when i checked the car, the check engine light was blinking.i immediately took to a service center and noticed the same low power 'limping' performance and a knocking sound (previously unheard).on friday, 05/28/2021, the service manager provided an update: that they found diagnostic trouble code p1326 related to engine inspection.performed oil change.cleared the diagnostic code.ran the engine.could hear an internal knock at higher rpms.will need engine replaced or rebuilt.no parts are available to replace or rebuild at this time.they contacted hyundai with the vin who said the vehicle was out of warranty (110,000 miles).drove the vehicle home (two blocks) at low rpms with no issue.there was no previous indication there was any potential issue with the engine.maintenance and oil changes have been completed on a regular basis.there were 600+ miles before the next 5,000-mile oil change was due.drove the car the next morning, saturday, 05/29/2021, to see about trading the car in at the local hyundai dealer (5.1 miles away) before the situation got worse and purchase a new vehicle.i was expecting the car would be drivable - at least at lower rpms.the car immediately began to lose power, the check engine light began blinking and stalled three times in traffic before crawling onto the dealer's lot.they had a mechanic look at the vehicle, said the engine was shot and offered $250 as all they could do was junk it since engine parts were scarce and it would not be cost-effective to replace the engine even though the body was in good shape.i felt i had no choice but to accept as it was now clear the vehicle was unsafe to drive.for the engine to die within about 15 miles of the initial onset without warning and the sudden loss of power, is a dangerous situation is this is waiting to happen to other vehicles.

2015 hyundai tucson.consumer writes in regards to vehicle rough idle issues.the consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. The first time, code came back was an imperfection in the front brake rotors. The second and third time, there was no code.

I purchased this vehicle after it had been leased. I purchased it with 48k miles in december 2018. I have maintained the vehicle, per the manufacturer's guidelines. In july 2021,at 69k miles, a high-pitched whirring sound came from engine when gas was applied. The noise did not occur when vehicle is in idle. The noise came suddenly when i was accelerating getting on a highway (on ramp). I took to my trusted mechanic immediately and they haven't been able to diagnose the issue at this time. However, they found busted metal pieces in the pan and have ruled out more common issues, like serpentine belt, timing belts, and exhaust.my mechanic was so far into the engine trying to find the clearly broken part (or parts), that it will be more cost effective to just replace the engine. I contacted my local hyundai dealership, and they ignored my emails (until this point). A safety concern is that the car could still be driven, even though there was clearly something wrong with the engine. There were no warning lights of any kind in the dash, before or after the engine sound came on. Also, a qualified mechanic could not find/replace the broken part, and hyundai is ignoring my engine issue requests. I also contacted hyundai usa and am waiting for a response. The vehicle's engine, if defective, is out of warranty because i am second owner. The second owner warranty only lasts to 60k miles.

On april 16, 2021 my husband was driving our 2015 hyundai tucson home from work at 10:30pm. Upon entering interstate 77 s the tucson suddenly came to a complete stop. He was able to get it off the side of the interstate. There were no dash lights that came on or noises to give warning this was about to happen. We had not had any issues with the vehicle till then. We had the tucson towed to the car lot where we had purchased it on 12.26.2020.this could have caused accidents that could have harmed not only my husband but others traveling that interstate that night. Other than the mechanics that replaced the engine and an individual from warranty solutions no one else inspected the blown engine. We spent $6948.55 for a rebuilt engine and labor. We were without our vehicle from 04.16.2021 until 08.28.2021. Hyundai had a recall on engine components but for some reason ours was not included. I strongly feel it should have been. Not only did this failure put my husband in danger but also anyone traveling that interstate that night.

Driving on the freeway at 70 mph during 5:15 rush hour traffic, the engine stopped running.there was no combustion, but the battery was still working.when i had it towed to the dealer, they said the engine had lost compression and combustion and needed to be completely replaced.the car stopping in the middle of the freeway during rush hour could have caused a serious accident.

Theta ii motor seized. No warnings. The car shut off on the highway and in the street.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai tucson. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact also stated that there was an abnormal noise while the vehicle was being driven. The contact slowly drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The contact was informed by the mechanic that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to hyundai of north charleston located at 8485 rivers ave, north charleston, sc 29406, (844)846-7472, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was metal fragments evident in the oil pan which was linked to the engine failure. The contact was notified through the dealer that the manufacturer would cover 65% of the engine replacement cost. The contact declined the offer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 69,671.

I was driving on a city street, in the "eco" mode. I turned left, and the vehicle paused forward motion, until i pumped the gas pedal 2 or 3 times. This has happened many times since i purchased the veh. In 2016, with 16,000 + or - miles on the odo. When i turn off the "eco" mode, the problem still happens, though not as often. I left the car at vandergriff hyundai for a day with n.p.f.

The contact owns a 2015 hyundai tucson. While the vehicle was idle, a raccoon entered the engine compartment and ate the insulation. Taylor hyundai of perrysburg (12681 eckel junction rd, perrysburg, oh) was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer since the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and admitted that they used a soy-based compound for the insulation. The manufacturer also stated that they could not assist since there were no recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

While driving to the store the vehicle started to make noise from the engine, it started to rattle louder and louder. I was driving 40mph and pulled into the gas station where the engine noise got worst the engine light and oil light came on and the car stalled, called aaa and had the car towed to my house which was 7 miles away, the tow truck driver said that he has been coming across a few of these hyundai's with the same problem engine failure.

The problem i am having with my vehicle is that the engine stopped while i was driving down the road without any warnings at all. There was no check engine lights, no oil lights, or any sensors that popped up for that issue. This has been a known problem after doing some research with this engine. I had it towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed him with a engine problem and said the engine needed to be replaced.i had it then towed to a dealership hyundai dealership and they have had my car for a week without giving me any information on what is actually wrong with the engine. I cannot receive a loaner car because it is out of warranty and my aftermarket warranty is still trying to investigate what is wrong with the engine and no one else is helping me.i've been out of work now for almost 2 weeks with no vehicle no explanation, but yet there are numerous complaints all throughout the internet about the engine for this vehicle. There is no engine available anywhere for this vehicle probably because of the known issue. They are telling me they will have to order it piece by piece if the warranty will cover it. I personally think there should be an inspection on these engines and a recall done because what has happened to me has been happening for years since the vehicle has at the market. I have read over 30 different complaints about the engine just dying and seizing while driving the car.

When taking corners in the city i can't accelerate the car just revs for about 15-30 seconds and won't move. I have to try to pull over to get off the road. Also when accelerating from a stop the rpm's like to shoot up but the car won't take no gas. I have almost been hit twice because of this problem. Hyundai just says learn how to drive it. Learn what how to stall?

Engine seized, yes available for inspection, no prior warning lamps, messages or symptoms, car just stopped. Fortunately this happened on a backroad and not on interstate 95 between home and school.manufacture said they would not help, seized engine determined by mechanic, no oil.car maintained as recommended by manufacturer.i'm now finding out this is a common problem with this make and model, it burns oil and engines seize.who allows cars to be on the road that seize up!!!

Engine failed at 19000 miles.metal shaving in pan complete engine sieze

I bought this car as a lease return at 36k miles. I have taken it in for all the recommended services and also the oil changes at the recommended intervals. Never had an issue with the vehicle at all till now. At just over 70k miles i was driving at 75mph and the engine lurched and the vehicle went into limp mode. The fastest i could go was 60mph. The engine had a wicked knocking sound. Fortunately i was near a hyundai dealership so i took it there. They said it needs a new engine. Thankfully i have the certified pre-owned warranty on the engine & powertrain up to 100k, so hyundai is eating the cost. But it is still wildly concerning to me! i'll for sure be selling this car before it hits the 100k warranty.

My car is consuming oil - approximately 1 quart per every 300 - 500 miles. A repair shop said there were problems with the engine and to take it to the dealer. I have paid over $500 so far (replaced guages, spark plugs, and more) - i have completed three oil consumption reports (the dealership is checking the oil)- and the dealer keeps saying the problem is not covered under warranty. I know so little about cars and engines, but feel i am getting cheated. Any suggestions are appreciated.

On nov. 4 2020 at 2pm, while driving onf8 east freeway entering the turn onto ca125, my 2015 hyundai tucson's engine blew without warning. The dash lights lit as the car lost power the hood blew open and shut and my 31yr old daughter was forced to allow the car to glide to the side of the freeway. In a dangerous spot. .she could not see in front of the car until the hood fell back down. The danger is the fact there were no previous warnings, the hood blew up and the car had stopped where there was not sufficient space for other cars to pass without tapping my side mirror and a huge trail of oil left behind. She got over to the passenger seat quickly and rolled down the windows since it was hot out. First she called emergency roadside assistance to tow the car off the freeway. They took over 2 hrs to arrive .while many cars drove quickly by barely missing my car. She called me next in fear of her life and then called her dad and he stayed on the phone with her until the tow arrived .i only have had this car for 1 year. I had an oil change on june 23, 2020 from reg oil to a synthetic blend. Upon calling hyundai customer care it was suggested to tow the car to the nearest dealer for investigation to see if its covered by warranty. The engine is severely damaged the bearings were destroyed and a rod thrown. The oil filter was blown off. My car had no previous leaks. There is a class action against hyundai/kia for my cars year but with theta 1 and !! engines. Mine is a gasoline direct engine that also has problems per car complaints.com. What also makes this particularly dangerous is that i use this car frequently to transport my 11yr old disabled grandson to rady children's hospital for medical appts since he has cerebral palsy and poor head and neck control. Something like this could have not only snapped his neck but also cause massive fatalities on the freeway..

I was taking left into my drive, in front of oncoming traffic, the engine sounded like it was revving, but i had absolute no power.luckily i got enough power eventually to get into the driveway without getting hit.i have had this happen repeatedly in this car.it has been into the deal once and they said they updated the software but it has started happening again.this is so dangerous.i never know exactly what i'm going to get when i step on the gas.the dual action clutch is awful and i was not informed about it even having this when i bought it.otherwise, i would not have bought it.

2015 tucson engine blew after only 70,000 miles. It did not show any signs of failure but as i was driving the engine made abang noise and just stopped and would not start again. After i did some research i found out that this is not the first tucson to have engine failure after 70,000 miles.

The idle component on the engine sputters. It's been sputtering since i bought the vehicle brand new off the lot. I mentioned it to the dealer. They said it was nothing, but the sputtering is getting worse and as the car sits idling while pressing the brakes or in parked out neutral it's sputters like it's going to cut off.

My problem seems to be consistent with other drivers. I was driving home at night when i turned a corner and the vehicle jerked and then died. No warning signals came on. No leaking fluids. Vehicle wouldn't start up anymore. Bought a new battery and still unable to start the car. Took the vehicle to a mechanic tested the alternator and starter and neither one was the problem. The mechanic diagnosed it as a locked up motor. This is very dangerous and should be looked into.

There was a recall on my car which followed under the campaign 958 which was unknown to me until my car engine seized while driving on i-5 highway. Due to the fact i did not know of the recall when this incident happened i had to get it towed to the closest auto shop. They were unsure of what caused the seize and tried to replace the starter (cost around $340). The auto shop got it to turn on but then heard a loud knocking in the engine and suggested if i called hyundai dealership to see if there is a recall because they would have to replace the engine. I called and got the confirmation that there was a recall and got it towed to their parking lot(around $98). I believe it was a monday when it made it to the parking lot and said the techs would have to check it out and send up an approval if the engine is covered and till the confirmation came through i would have to get a rental out of pocket. So from monday to thursday i had to get a rental through enterprise(around $350) because on thursday i received a call from the dealership stating that i was approved and could get one of the dealership rentals till the repairs were made which resulted in my entire engine being replaced. I had their rental i believe from friday to the next thursday and then i was able to pick my car up. After all was said and done i submitted to the reimbursement branch all the expenses i paid with the receipts that was early july when i got confirmation that it was received. Since then i have reached out numerous times trying to get an update for how long it would take and if i could speak to a supervisor or even have the person working on my case removed to somebody else to make things work faster. I was told they don't have supervisors and that my claim is with higher management for approval and that it has been there since the 6th of august.

In around august 2018, i was driving my 2015 hyundai tucson gls back from work on a high way. That all (for no reason) the indicator on the dashboard lights up, the vehicle shakes and come to a halt. I towed to dealership where the maintenance had been done since the purchase date. It was checked and reported as a damage to the oil pan. But, they said it has hit a stationary object (this was a lie) but there was no stationary object on the highway as many vehicle were going by. I was on the left shoulder of the fast lane. Because i did not agree with the dealership diagnose, i knew an object has broken from the inside of the engine and strike it way out of the oil pan. Mileage during the incident was at 73,437. I think this vehicle should be recall for this many reported object damaging the oil pan. My insurance had to pay for a new replace engine but to end up with a used engine charge $4500. A picture (document) uploaded will show exit damage from the broken metal from inside the engine.

Received 2 recall notices to have the engine control software updated with an anti-knock prevention feature. We updated the software at the dealer before the second letter from hyundai which notified us that the software will limit engine performance and vehicle speed if actuated, and that we should take it to the dealer for repair should this occur. This is perceived to be a sales gimmick for hyundai that is unavoidable if actuated. The hyundai 1-800 help line could not answer the questions regarding an option to remove the software to avoid this event, or the cost to make the mandated repairs when they occur. They also promised a 120,000 warranty update notification that was never sent to us promised 3-5 days after installation. We perceive the software installation a safety issue because it commands your vehicle into a limiting state. The recall is labelled: product improvement campaign number 953. 2015 hyundai tiucson, a car we otherwise love, and a 3rd hyundai in 7 years.

Bought new 20152017 paid out of pocket for an exhaust replacement $1,500april 2019 went through oil consumption testing. Car engine was replacedjune 2019 transmission went outmileage 105kcar was in motion when all of this went uphave copies of receipts

I was driving down the road when suddenly the car started rattling. The oil light blinked on then off. The engine then made a squealing noise, the battery light came on, and then the engine froze. The accelerator pedal and the steering wheel were stuck. I turned the car off, but it wouldnā€™t restart. Thankfully, i was on a quiet neighborhood street and not in the middle of a busy highway when this happened. I had it towed to the dealer, who inspected it and stated that i needed to have the entire engine replaced. I then had it towed to another dealer for a second opinion, but they also said the engine needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, since i am not the original owner, hyundai claims the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty does not apply, even though the car only has 85k miles.

I've done my regular maintenance on this vehicle since i've purchased. Drove to two places today, after second place on start up oil light came on with very loud engine knocking. Checked my oil to find none on the dipstick, filled back up with recommended oil and some of the noise went away. Still has very profound knocking noises in the engine block with lack of power. Bought this vehicle with 44,500 miles now has 50,500. Shouldn't have any trouble at this mileage at all. Taking to dealership to see what will be done. This vehicle has common problem but no recall for this particular vehicle.

Driving vehicle where felt hesitation accelerating.then heard a banging noise whereengine had seized.this is first new car owned what a disappointment.this problem is known through hyundai and they have done nothing about it.my advice stay away

While driving on interstate a lack of power when accelerating was noted. Highest car would travel was around 60 mph. Engine was revving but no speed could be gained. Have repeatedly had this issue which is extremely dangerous.took it to dealer they said vehicle is fine and there are no recalls on vehicle. Called hyundai to complain and voiced that many other have experienced this same issue. They stated vehicle is not under warranty so there is nothing they are willing to do and that the vehicle isn't currently under recall.

Engine failure. I changed car oil and filter every 3,000 miles. A strong noise came from the engine and pep boys mechanic say i needs oil. I changed oil ,drove one mile and the car stop.

According to an attorney mu engine is a nu engine. As far as i know no recalls or lawsuits are pending.car was driving fine, lost all powerto a very slow creep, making a very strange sound in engine, fried starter and now won't work at all.everything people say the theta ii engine complaints have been we are experiencing with this car...but it has not been recalled. We have noticed extra oil consumption but figured due to high mileage. We had a mechanic come out and he said the thinks the engine is fried or there is serious problems. This vehicle is only 6 years old.this all during covid, my husband is high risk we had to go buy another car as we do not have money to fix. I now have 2 hefty car payments with 1 vehicle working. I need help to know if this engine displaying all the same problems will too be recalled .

Entire muffler pipes and catalater converter fell off car in one piece while driving the vehicle and pulled bumper out of alignment when it came down. Thankfully was only traveling at a slow speed in a residential area and was not on the highway. Heard a loud bang and emediatly felt and heard a change in engine. It was terrifying

Engine suddenly failed. Starting all with a rattling sound one night while driving. Thr next day, dropped my child off and car just cut off while driving in my apartment lot. The car was in drive and my foot was on the gas when it just shut off.

On july 12, 2019, i was driving to my home at approximately 10:00 in the evening. I was approximately two miles from my house when my engine seized and the car stopped in the middle of a very dangerous intersection. I am very grateful that, thanks to my father and a good samaritan, i was able to get my car out of the street and i was able to get home. This could have been disastrous.i have since been told by an authorized hyundai mechanic that my engine needs to be replaced. Considering the car only has 86,000 miles and all routine maintenance has been performed and no mechanic has ever said this was a potential issue before, i find this to be unacceptable.

Car accelerated forward suddenly causing crash into retaining wall. While parking.

The vehicle losses power when trying to accelerate. It will also not shift in gear when suppose to. This vehicle has always been well maintained and serviced. Out of nowhere all of this happened when traveling home from a trip. The vehicle could not even make it up a hill because the power was completely lost.

I was driving and there was a knocking noise from the engine and loss of power. I opened the hood and noticed a pulley on the belt that looked loose and had the car towed to the dealership. According to them they know this particular engine theta model has been an issue for fires and engine failure with components breaking internally but no recalls have been addressed for my vin number even though there are hundreds of thousands of customers with the same issues and only some recalls have been made. Ultimately leaving the customer with the bill. This is a very dangerous situation and reading hundreds of comments on various sites and these incidents happening in other countries as well with this engine, there should be a huge investigation and something being done about this.

2015 hyundai tuscon 2.0 original owner with 70,000 miles, engine is burning through 1 quart of oil every 500 miles, research indicates that the theta 2 manufacturing problem is the culprit as was the case with sonata recalls.going to the dealership to demand a new engine as this is thoroughly documented with all theta 2 engines during this time frame

I was driving down the street and other driver flag me down, the car behind me honk when i look back i realize that the car was smoking when i come out at the car the whole car caught fire.

I have a 2015 hyundai tucson, the oil burns really fast. I have to get an oil change every month or the car will start making a loud noise. I only have 69000 miles on it. The dealership at this point dont know what to do

Car accelerated forward suddenly causing crash into retaining wall. While parking.

There are no child seat restraint loops under and the rear of the rear seat; no place to hook the child seat base into the car frame, only the shoulder and seat belt are available.

My vehicle was stationary in my garage when i started to leave for work when the car began to shake, and the engine turned off. I restarted the car, and the check engine light, which was not previously on, now was, and my airbag light indicator was on as well. Since this time, my shifter cable has broken, and the brake light switch has malfunctioned. To try and remedy this, i have purchased and replaced my ignition coils, spark plugs, brake lights, shifter cable, crankshaft position sensor, the master power window switch, and fuse plugs. And this still has not fixed the issues occurring with the vehicle.

First time ever my vehicle quit while i was driving after having it for 3 years.

Since then i have reached out numerous times trying to get an update for how long it would take and if i could speak to a supervisor or even have the person working on my case removed to somebody else to make things work faster. I was told they don't have supervisors and that my claim is with higher management for approval and that it has been there since the 6th of august.

Theta ii motor seized. No warnings. The car shut off on the highway and in the street.

The contact owned a 2015 hyundai tucson. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle at 50 mph, other drivers began to alert him that there was fire emerging from underneath the vehicle; there were no warning signals alerting the contact of the fire. The contact pulled over and noticed the fire coming from under the front driver side tire. The contact called 911 and by the time the fire department reached him, the vehicle was totaled. There were no injuries due to the fire, and the contact filed both a fire and police report. The vehicle was first towed a junk yard and then to the contact's home. The contact called the dealership (rick case hyundai 925 n state rd 7, plantation, fl 33317(954) 388-9627) and the contact was referred to a pre-owned sales manager. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

There have been several occasions that have put me at risk because of an acceleration hesitation. I step on the gas pedal and the vehicle takes many moments to start moving. This almost resulted in an accident more than three times, but most importantly when the car seemingly stalled while crossing an intersection. All circumstances were when the vehicle was starting from a stopped or near stopped situation.

When accelerating into traffic the car lags or stops as if i put the car in neutralmany times i am next to a vehicle and cann't pull back over onon coming traffic has to hard stop or swerve to avoid hitting me.this of course puts me and on coming vehicles in danger

I was waiting to turn left, after checking both directions, i tried to accelerate and could barely move. At this point i saw a car headed toward me that i could not see due to a car being parked along side of the road. I tried to get out of the way, but my tucson would not move. This resulted in being t-boned.vin photo includedi have more photos available if needed

Exploding sunroof. I had just gotten onto the expressway driving my brand new 2015 hyundai tuscon. I had only had the car for about a week. I was traveling at approximately 65 mph when i heard a very loud "pop" sound. I thought it was a gunshot. Then the mesh sunroof visor began to sag and i could hear and feel wind coming into the vehicle from that area. I got off the expressway, pulled over and got out to look at the roof. The entire sunroof was shattered. There were large and small shards of sharp glass sitting on top of the mesh interior sunroof cover. I tried to move them because they were causing the mesh to sag so much, but i cut my fingers while doing this so i stopped. I immediately drove the vehicle to the dealership where i had purchased it (about 20 miles away). While driving, i was frightened that the weight of the glass on the mesh would cause it to rip or collapse. At the dealership, they did not tell me about hyundai sunroof recalls that i have since read about. Now they want me to come and pick up the "repaired" vehicle but i am very concerned that this is a recurring defect.

While driving on a highway the sunroof on my 3 week old car suddenly imploded at random. It was not hit by any objects or debris. The panoramic roof was closed at the time but the screen underneath was open so that you could see through the window. The glass was scattered throughout the front and back seats as well as found on top of the back portion of the roof. No injuries resulted but an extremely dangerous defect that should be addressed immediately.
