Air bag warning light malfunction.the alarm has been reset with no reported code problems, but the air bag light will immediate fault when car is driven again.thus when the light is on, the air bags will not work.internet research indicates this failure happens to hyundai tiburon's of the same year as my car.hyundai headquarters and local dealer were called and indicated there was a tsb for this problem, but it did not apply to my car and they will not issue a safety recall or investigate further.they would not provide specific details other than there are some air bag electrical system wiring/sensor problems with other cars in my model year range, but again my car does not have this problem...

Had air bag light fixed at dealership last year (2010). They said it was seat belt . Now it is back on again , less than a year later.

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon. The contact was driving approximately 30 mph when a vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact. The air bags did not deploy and she sustained a concussion and whiplash. The police were called and a report was filed. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where they deemed the vehicle as destroyed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileage was approximately 103,000.

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon.in 2006, while driving at an unknown speed, the driver side air bag deployed.the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they could not find any defect.the contact's son was involved in a fatal crash with a school bus.the seat air bags failed to deploy.the contact feels that if the seat air bags would have deployed, his son would still be alive.the vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed.the powertrain was unknown.the failure mileage was 45,000 and the current mileage was not applicable.

My wife was in a rear end accident at approximately 30 mph, air bags did not deploy, air bag light is on. My wife got whiplash from the accident. Reading similar complaints, i'm almost glad the air bags did not deploy because her injury could have been worse. Hyundai needs to fix the issue with their air bags immediately.

Air bag light came on intermittently several times before remaining on; seatbelt and buckle on driver's side replaced.eight months later the same process occurred on the passenger side of the car.

Air bag warning light came on - won'tgo offdealer replaced driver seat belt buckle asembly - light came back on at 70,000.

My car turn on the air bag, all the time, i take to the dealer until the warranty was active, after the third year they said that this don't have no more warranty, the air bag light steel on all the time.

The air bag light will not shut off.

The airbag light came on and stayed on.seatbelts and airbags will not properly work or work at all when this light is on. Why shouldn't the 2004 model be included in the safety recall since all other tiburon years except for 2004 were recalled?

I am almost scared to drive my tiburon. I have read many stories about airbags not deploying when the light had been showing. Both my tiburon, and my mother's sonata had the airbag light steadily on. I was able to fix hers by adjusting a few cords, mine to no avail. I have been told not to get it diagnosed because problem returns.

This make and model has defective seatbelt sensors. These seatbelt sensors are wired into the airbag system and in the event of a seatbelt sensor shorting out, the air bag light comes on and the car's air bags are disabled. This is a very serious safety issue.

2004 hyundai tiburon was involved in an accident and the front passenger air bag deployed but the driver side air bag did not.*mrthe vehicle was damaged on the driver's side front and there was no damage on the passenger side.the manufacturer claimed that the air bag operated as designed.the vehicle was taken tot he dealer and repaired.the dealer did not replaced the driver's side air bag because they claimed nothing was wrong with it.the mechanic will not release the car because after all the replacements the airbag light will not go off. The consumer believes there is something wrong with the airbag system on this car.

I rear-ended someone on an icy road going approximately 30 mph.my airbag did not deploy, but the passenger's did, with no one in the seat.hyundai claims that this is normal- designed to deploy at slower speeds without the seat belt buckled, but based on the research done on injuries without a seat belt worn, i find this design to be faulty, or i must wonder if their claim is true.

The driver side airbag failed to deploy in the consumer 2004 hyundai tiburon .the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving in inclement weather and hit a tree.the passengers frontal air bag deployed but the driver's frontal air bag did not deploy.the driver sustained injuries to her chest, neck and back.the vehicle was totaled.

2004 hyundai tiburon gt collided, bumper to bumper, with a stopped passenger vehicle at 5-10 mph. Impact was on the driver's side at a 40 degree angle to the vehicle centerline. Bumper damage was minor and there were no injuries nor realistic potential for injury.the vehicle's supplemental restraint system (srs) deployed the passenger front airbag even though there was no passenger, presenting a risk of injury to the vehicle's occupants. The driver's front airbag did not deploy.the tiburon's srs computer activated the passenger airbag prematurely and was too sensitive to a minor, non-threatening impact; that is, defective.bumper cover replacement $500, airbag repair $4,500.defective devices are in my possession.hyundai owners with a similar experience are invited to join a potential class action by e-mailing [email protected], established for this purpose.

On icy road conditions on december 24, 2004 my car slide down a hill and crashed into a car in the ditch. Driver air bag did not deploy, but passenger side did. No passenger in the car. Safety concerns over air bag not working properly.

My airbags blew in a very low impact accident (5 mph). My car was completely undamaged from the impact, with the exception of a broken license plate bracket and damage to my interior, caused by the airbags deploying. According to my automobiles user manual, the airbags are only made to deploy on high speed impact, which was not the case in my accident.i went through hyundai's complaint and resolution procedure, because i felt that the airbags should not have gone off. I also took the car to my mechanic and a hyundai mechanic, and they both agreed that, judging by the amount of damage done to the exterior of my car (broken license plate bracket). The airbags should not have went off. Hyundai claimed the airbags functioned properly, and closed the file. I started searching for a new dashboard, and i was told repeatedly that the airbags were sensitive and went off very easily. My personal mechanic stands firm that my air bags should not have deployed. There was literally no damage to my car from this low impact accident, except the deployed airbags and broken license plate bracket. All the damage was caused by the airbags. My mechanic and all the salvage yards i have spoken to claim the sensor is overly sensitive.hyundai''s manual stresses over and over, that the airbags will only deploy on high impact. When i called hyundai to ask what the vehicle impact threshold level is for the airbags, they could not tell me. I did some research on the internet, and i found several other complaints about the airbags not functioning correctly. Hyundai should be recalling these, as they do not function properly, and there are many people that have had a bad experience with their air bags going off. .their are a lot of people that have had to fork out money from their own pockets because of this, or have had to claim this on their insurance. It just is not right, and i would like to do something about it.please help.sincerely, tamara thornton.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving various speeds, the airbag warning light illuminated.the vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the airbag sensor within the front seat belts needed to be replaced.after the replacement, the airbag light illuminated.the manufacturer was alerted.

My 2004 hundai tiburon was hit head on by another vehicle on 11/16/04.both vehicles were traveling approximately 25mph.my passenger air bag deployed even though no one was in the seat.driver side air bag did not deploy although the impact was mostly on the driver front.i sustained neck and back injuries in the collision.the car is at the dealer for repairs but i am not sure i will ever have confidence in the safety of the vehicle.

I bought my 2004 tiburon in july of that year, and had to get rid of it (even rolled the loan money over), in 2006, i hated it so much.the paint chipped off all over the car, the seat color was wearing off, the dashboard color wore off, the lights on the radio went out.of course not one of the issues were covered under the great warranty the offer.my sister got the same car, she had her automatic/manual shifter go, her tires were completely bare after 2 years, her gas cap paint came over, down to the metal.this was the worst car ever made.

My 2004 hyundai tiburon suffers from a long list of electrical problems.both power window motors have stopped working, my power trunk latch is defective, the interior light switch doesn't work, and now the turn signal relay that is part of the body control module has caused intermittent problems with my left turn signal. Sometimes it stays on even after turning off the car.i'm worried i may be rear-ended because although my signal is on, it sometimes does not flash properly due to the faulty bcm.research indicates these are very common issues with hyundai vehicles, and very expensive to repair.the bcm is about $700 alone.the window motors are about $300 each. It is ridiculoustopay $700 for a signal light.hyundai should be held accountable for shoddy engineering!

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon. The contact stated that the turn signal switch did not function when the left turn signal was turned on.the battery failed to function properly as long as the turn signal fuse was in the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the body control module needed replacing.there were no repairs completed on the vehicle.the failure mileage was 119,000 and the current mileage 122,000.

Almost right after purchasing the vehicle, i started experiencing electrical problems.the alarm system would randomly go off and sometimes even lock the doors of the car on it's own.whether the car was running or not, windows open or shut, did not matter.later the windshield wiper motor burned out so only the fastest setting works and only when i hold the knob up for the one time wipe.the window motor went out on the passenger side as well.if you were to slam or hit the door, the window will roll down, but not back up unless you pull very hard on it to get it going.the power steering has also began to go out.there are times when it will not stop squealing while i turn the wheel and it is almost pulsing so i can only turn the wheel in tiny increments at a time.the steering squeaks the most when the wheel is turned all the way.

Hyundai know about an issue with their electrical system affecting the air conditioning on their tiburons, but have done nothing about it. It is when you select higher speeds of a/c, the connector behind the dashboard heats up so much, it melts the connector and causes the a/c to fail. Hyundai doesn't cover this under warranty or recall. They make me buy another switch. But the problem still exists, causing the replacement to fail as well.

I have a 2004 hyundai tiburon gt. While i was driving and switched it the right turn signal, it would not turn off. I pulled over and was unable to get it off. Even after shutting off the car and removing the key, the turn signal remained on. The only way to turn it off was to remove the bulbs front the front and rear headlights. I took the car to a hyundai dealership and said the body control module failed and needed to be replaced. The cost to replace was $1,280. Upon researching this issue online, it appears to be a common issue in 2003-2004 tiburons from hyundai. Hyundai would not cover the repair because the car was out of warranty. There is nothing a consumer can do to "maintain" a body control module and hyundai should be held accountable for this safety issue.

The blinker light remained constant and drained the battery.the body control module needed to be replaced at 80,000 miles at the cost of $1200!!

2004 tiburon had a problem with the air condition, speakers rattle, cigarette lighter and problems when switching to first and reverse gears.the sun roof didn't close properly. The air bag light illuminated due to a loose connection under the seat. One of the taillights were out.

Three engine's have been replaced in my vehicle. After the last engine replacement several bolts have fallen out of the engine support bracket. Several other bolts ate loose or ready to fall out. Nothing has been done yet. I have filed a case with the bbb.

Right turn signal stays constantly glowing out of no where. Turned the left signal on and the right signal came on as well and stays on even when the car is off. It doesn't blink it just stays glowing. I have read numerous reports from mechanics and other driver with the same vehicle that the relay inside the bcm tends to go bad. If it were just a fluke and it was just mine that was bad i would cough up the money and replace it but if i find numerous people that have had the same problem then seems like hyundai has a faulty part and it needs to be fixed, and also funny how if you order the module on the circuit board that needs to be replaced the part number has changed because they have updated that module so they must have even found a problem with the module. Seems like a safety problem as it confuses drivers around me because my right turn signal is constantly glowing then all the sudden left turn signal is flashing.

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon.while driving 50 mph, the contact activated the driver's side turn signal.the light remained solid and did not flash.when the contact arrived to his destination and turned off the vehicle, the turn signal remained solid and would not dim.after several attempts, he managed to disengage the turn signal, but then the battery failed.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for further inspection and they determined that the relay and the body control module failed.the repair would cost $956.a week later, while driving with the cruise control engaged, the cruise control suddenly disengaged without warning.the contact noticed that the speedometer dropped from 70 mph to 0.after a couple of seconds, the cruise control returned without warning.the manufacturer stated that no compensation would be provided because there were no recalls.the failure mileage was 61,000 and current mileage was 65,984.

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon. The contact stated that when the fuel tank reached half full, the fuel gauge would display an inaccurate reading of empty. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. Five months later, the contact noticed fuel leaking from the vehicle. The dealer was notified and advised her to bring the vehicle in for diagnosis. The contact declined and stated that the failure was associated with nhtsa campaign number: 04v178000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not contacted to determine if the vehicle was included in the recall campaign. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 99,000.updated 7/8/13

Interior power door locks do not function. Unable to unlock doors from inside car. Locks occupants in car!!

Steering will not stay in no more then 6 mouths and almost instead they go out .on alignments . It has been going on seens this car

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle failed to shift gears. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that that the clutch and fly wheel failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Djr

Clutch recall, powertrain recall, master cylinder recall, slave cylinder recall. When driving my car after a week of purchasing the car i pushed the clutch pedal to the floor to shift, and the pedal did not come back up.after several attempts to bring it back up to shift it finally came back. When shifting again the car died instantly, and after the car was off i could shift to any gears. When turning the car back on in neutral the car turned on, but would not shift to first it would push itself forward and die. Trying to start the car in first would take off but you could only put it back to neutral. After taking it to several mechanics i changed the slave and master cylinder, and nothing happened.to my surprise the clutch and dual mass flywheel, clutch, shift fork was completely destroyed. This is a common problem and they won't do anything about it.

This is concerning a 2004 hyundai tiburon gt.i have found this to be a very common problem with many 03-04 tiburons.in my case, the clutch and flywheel needed to be replaced at 49,450 (12/04/06) and 86,175 (4/21/09) miles.the cost for each repair is almost $2000.i bought this car because i could not afford a more costly car and now i have to pay these ridiculous charges for faulty parts.i don't understand why hyundai has not done anything about this epidemic of a problem..

2004 hyundai tiburon gt v6 16k with a blown clutch and warped flywheel!hyundai won't cover their mistake! plus they want to charge me $71.50 just to look at my car even though it has 16k miles and the warranty is until60k miles.

The clutch started slipping with only 16,500 miles on it. I took it to the dealer in january 2006 to have the clutch replaced. They told me i was at fault due to my driving habits. They offered me a discount on the parts. The dealer was going to use exact replacement parts but from what i found out about the clutch i provided onmy own after market parts that cost $ 478.56 dollars and the dealer charged $870.00 for labor.

Took my car to dealership for the clutch slipping and grinding on two separate occasions, the grinding was stopped but the slipping was still a problem. I was told by service to "adjust the way i drive." at 19557 miles my clutch went out completely, when i asked the service advisor what caused this he said "it looks like its been slipping for a long time." the dealership informed me that the repairs would not be covered under warranty as the clutch parts are only under warranty for 12000 miles. My car was under 12000 miles both times the clutch was "repaired" before. Now i have a repair bill for over $2000 that i refuse to pay because they didn't fix the problem when they could have, under warranty.

2004 hyundai tiburon. 5 speed manual transmission. Clutch beginning to fail/slip at 27,000 miles. 27,000 miles for a clutch is nothing as clutches have been known to last at least100,000 miles. This is a hazard, as premature clutch wear can result in an accident, perhaps a fatal one.

I have a 2004 hyundai tiburon gtv6 with 6-speed manual transmission. In 23rd december 2007. My car was making an odd smell. I was told by a mechanic it was the clutch going bad. I contacted hyundai and was told due to normal wear and tear that it was my fault. At this time i had 29,500mi on my car. On the 17th january 2008 with 30,500mi on my car, the clutch is completely bad and has to be replaced. I nearly got t-boned by a truck during normal traffic because my clutch disengaged and i started slowing down. The truck stopped to help and i got my car home afterwards. Hyundai refused to honor there 10-year warranty on the car and i got stuck paying about $900 on a new clutch and flywheel for my car.

My transmission got stuck into second gear towed the vehicle to the dealership they replaced the transmission under warranty but told me i had to replace my clutch it was to worn.the car only has 19000 miles on it.

Drove my 2004 hyundai tiburon for 17k miles and 1 day after driving about 1 hr in traffic i noticed my clutch would not engage my first gear properly. I have a 6 spd. Brought the car to hyundai dealership and they told me that "i" had worn out my clutch and wanted 2 charge me $1800.00 to repair it. After arguing and calling corporate hyundai and having to go to the dealership and explain to these guys and i know how 2 drive standard they finally replaced my clutch as a "one time good-will repair" under 1 circumstance, that i would pay 4 the 15k mile service, which at $235.00 was better then $1800.00. Came across the problems that other are having after signing up to www.newtiburon.com and figured i would file a complaint also. The thing is that after they repaired it with what seems to be the revised clutch number per the tsb, when the car is cold it grinds going into to 2nd gear. Brought it in to the dealership and they gave me my car back stating on the invoice they gave me that they drove the car for 16 miles and had experienced no grinding and or clutch problems. That's odd because i have been since i got the car repaired. I am on my 2nd clutch after replacing my first at 17k miles and i have a feeling that my clutch is on its way because of the grinding. Im at 42,700 miles now and i don't no how much longer it will hold.

My 2004 hyundai gt clutch went at 39,000 miles. I am not an aggressive driver and i have driven manual transmission cars for 10 years never having had a clutch problem before.this is not covered by warranty.it is clear to me that this clutch is a defect. I am a mechanic and this clutch did not fail like they typically do there was no slipping or indication of a wear issue before it failed.just a rattling sound from what seemed to be the throw out bearing that started about 5 days before the failure.then in the middle of a 6 hour drive there was a cluck when i shifted followed by a hard shift and then no power transfer at all.this left me in a bind i was stranded for 3 hours 4 hours from home so i had to have it towed to a dealer where they gave me an estimate of 1200 dollars for parts and labor only to find out when they got it apart that the flywheel had also been damaged and the new price would be 2100 dollars.for this kind of damage to occur in this little time i would have had to been really hot rodding it, and that's not me. I am a very competent driver.i have seen other complaints bout this issue and this is a problem that hyundai should address with at least full reimbursement of parts total because the part is defective.

2004 tiburon had a problem with the air condition, speakers rattle, cigarette lighter and problems when switching to first and reverse gears.the sun roof didn't close properly. The air bag light illuminated due to a loose connection under the seat. One of the taillights were out.

I have an 04 tiburon gt v6 special edition and it is only at 16000 miles and the clutch is all ready going out and i will have to replace it.

I have a 2004 hyundai tiburon gt. I only have 33000 miles on the vehicle, and already having problems with the clutch. I have checked many chat rooms and forums and there are many others with this same vehicle having the same problems. This is a recurring issue with many tiburon owners with relatively low miles. I do also feel that there is also a safety issue at risk, because there lies the possibility that the clutch were to completely fail and cause the trans. To lock up. So some sort of notification to hyundai would be greatly appreciated.

My transmission reverse gear failed for the second time april of this year.the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, etc was replaced in may of this year (06).in october of this year i had my transmission replaced (my third!!) for the reverse gear failure.while the service department had the tranny out they discovered that my clutch was shot, as well as the flywheel.this would be the third clutch and flywheel.thanks goodness the clutch was still under warranty.i have an 86 bmw with 270k miles and it has the same drivetrain!!!

I was informed a week or so ago that my clutch needed to be repaired due to "wear & tear" on a 30,000 mile hyundai tiburon.i was informed that the warranty would not cover it due to "wear & tear".i was informed by the repair consultant though that their facility has been open for 9 months and my car is the 3rd they have seen with low mile tiburon's having the clutch repaired.i called a local transmission repair facility and they informed me that in december of '05 they had a hyundai tiburon with 11,000 miles and had to replace the clutch as well.

2004 hyundai tiburon clutch and transmission.

2004 hyundai tiburon 2.0/ 2.7 v6.(affected years: 2003-2006?)on manual transmission models, clutch slave cylinder contains a "delay valve" that causes "slipping" and excessive wear on clutch components. Removal of said, "delay valve" in clutch slave cylinder is solution to eliminating this excessive wear.from what i have read, there has been no voluntary recall to correct this very simple issue and many people have suffered "massive" clutch failures that also include aftermarket clutch components and flywheels of superior strength over oem.failure of the clutch could put someone at risk when driving due to total failure, or partial failure of the clutch.i currently have 19500 miles on my car, and am still within warranty, but am told that the clutch wouldn't be covered even if it was failing.that seems to be the story with 99% of many people i have read who also own the 2003-2006 tiburon.mine still works at this point, but i don't know how much premature damage there is currently due to the "delay valve".please consider looking into this problem.hyundai should be held accountable for this failed part and cover it 100 percent. All while recalling all 2003-2006 models and removing this slave cylinder"delay valve".

I own a 2004 hyundai tiburon gt v6 car.i am apart of an online car forum for my specific car.a number of my fellow tiburon owners and i have had the same problem.our factory clutches on manual cars have been breaking and not holding the horse power of the car.this is a major concern to me because, it happened to me while driving.this is a huge safety concern because i was not able to control my vehicle to the extent that i originally bought it.this clutch failure put me in risk of an accident and thank god nothing bad happened before it was brought in for a fix. I brought it intohyundai and they refused to fix the problem. After a week of warranty hell with lawyers and phone calls back and forth they finally fixed the problem.they said that they would never fix this again.they also did say that the clutch "prematurely slipped" (broke).

At about 8,000 miles on the car i noticed that the clutch would not always hold while trying to accelerate to merge with traffic.also the synchronization gears started to allow the transmission to grind while shifting into other gears at about 10,000.hyundai warranted the transmission for the syncros, and i am sure they would have warranted the clutch too, but for the history that the clutches have had in our community (tiburons) i knew i would have to replace the clutch in 20k miles again.so i decided to not have them warranty the clutch so i could put in a clutch that i knew would last longer than i planed on owning the vehicle.kind of sad not to have faith in your manufactures product's...

The clutch on my 2004 hyundai tiburon failed at 32,000 miles.it necessitated the replacement of the clutch and flywheel, at an expense of about $2,500.00the clutch failed me while i was on the freeway, 1200 miles from my home.

Clutch was slipping at 36,000 miles, already had clutch and tranny replacement at 15,000.lost all drivablility, hp, torque, etc.hyundai insisted $1,000.00 to replace clutch plate, and bearing, without looking inside engine.after a week, they said they needed $700.00 to pull tranny to see if flywheel is bad.buying clutch master series 1 to fix the faulty part. Don't let them replace your parts with the stock part! their clutch is terrible and a major safety issue.

Purchased vehicle jan 04 with 10 miles on it.at around 12k miles the clutch began to rapidly wear. At 18k mi it was impossible to drive.driver has never had to replace a clutch before 140k mi before.dealer (union nj) claimed hyundai not responsible, said would repair replace for $1200k (price reduction as a courtesy).driver decided that not to replace with the same clutchbought a spec stage 3 aftermaket clutch for $480 and had the dealer put the clutch in.at around 32k mi suddenly the clutch went from very tight(catching about 1" - 1.5"of the floor to loose 3"+.clutch slowly started slipping and was replaced at 38k mi by a different dealership (nyack, ny) claimed there was a tsb for the issue and offered to fix for free with factory clutch and new fly wheel.fly wheel must of been root cause as there has bee no more incidents as of 80k mi.

Premature clutch wear!add me to the list! it looks like i may be another one of the many people with clutch problems on their tiburon. I just bought my used 2004 tiburon 3 weeks ago. It had 27,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. I recently had a problem starting the car so i brought it into the dealer. They inspected the car and told me that the clutch was worn and was catching high. They estimate it is over 60% worn at this point but can't tell for sure until they tear it down. Now i have driven clutch for many years. My last car was a 98 jetta with 93,000 miles on it and the original clutch with no slippage. Before that i had a 91 nissan 240sx with well over 130,000 miles and the original clutch.it is unacceptable for the clutch to fail with such low mileage. On top of this, there are hundreds of complaints on various message boards about this issue. Something needs to be done. It is obvious that there is a mechanical problem going on. It simply can not be the drives fault if so many of these cases have been reported.i am really hoping that my clutch lasts for awhile, but i feel as if i got myself into a bad situation buying this car. I really hope this situation is remedied because i do like the car but i simply can't go through the cost of replacing my clutch every year or two and shouldn't have to! i've read that there is a class action lawsuit pending. Hopefully between this lawsuit and the nhtsa, a resolution to this problem is reached. This is an unfair and potentially dangerous situation for the american consumer that needs to be resolved soon!

I have owned a 2004 hyundai tiburon since jan of 2005, it was purchased brand new with 2 miles on it. Since about 10k miles, my clutch has been slipping, hyundai refuses to fix it under their warranty, stating it is a wearable part. I have been driving manual transmission cars for almost 25 years.. And this is the first clutch i have had go out, let alone at such low mileage.

2004 tiburon fly wheel and clutch and throw out bearing and pressure plate.

I was driving my car on 01-11-06 and noticed that it wasn't catching when i shifted.i had next to no acceleration.on 01-12-06 the problem worsened.i got my car off the road and parked it.i called several hyundai dealerships and was told that the clutch was going out and that it would not be a warranty fix even with the car only having 18,000 miles on it.i was told that it was because of my driving.i finally found a service manager who was willing to look up the tsb and said that my research was correct but that he could not guarantee me a warranty fix.my car was towed to (on 01-13-06) and is currently sitting at avondale hyundai waiting to be looked at.

2004 hyundai tiburon clutch and transmission.

Purchased a tiburon gt 2004 on feb 22nd and a month later the clutch and flywheel fail.... I think those cars come with defective clutches.

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon. The contact stated that the clutch was slipping when he accelerated up to 3,000 rpms. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer more than once and the clutch was replaced but the failure continued. The manufacturer had not been notified. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.

2004 ~clutch went out without any warning 8/10/2010(56961 miles) clutch was inspected on 6/15/2009 and was in excellent condition at the time of inspection (49987) and i purchased the extended warranty at the time of the purchase and to find out it isn't covered after being told that it was~attention 2004 tiburon owners who are having the same flywheel and clutch issues as the 2003 owners.i have made contact with an attorney to start a class action suit.please contact them if you too are experiencing the same.tracy tein w/finklestein thompson & loughran (415) 398-8700601 montgomery street, suite 665san franciso, california 94111together we can see that hyundai rights their wrong.

When shifting, the vehicle did not respond to the gears and the rpm's revved high. Also a burning smell entered the passenger cabin and the driver shut the vehicle off.the consumer was able to restart the vehicle.the cause of the problem had not been determined.the clutch popped and was hard to depress.the rpm's went over 6k and smoke had come from the left side of the engine. *sc

Tiburon clutch problems.

Purchased a tiburon gt 2004 on feb 24 and one month later clutch and flywheel fail.

Just got the car.. Its already slipping the clutch.. I am mad.

Purchased a brand new 2004 hyundai tiburon gt and just had the fourth powertrain, clutch, flywheel, etc installed today due to 3 failures in 90,000 miles. The last one that was put in was in february 2010 and failed this time november 26, 2010, not even lasting a full year. Each time, i have been given the run-around and no one has taken time to issue a recall or anything, even with the hundreds of similar complaints that have been filed already. I am almost out of my warranty and am scared that i will be out thousands of dollars when it fails again. Someone please help!!! thank you!

I had to replace my clutch at 68,000 miles.

My 2004 hyundai tiburon has an ailing clutch problem that i've learned is very common among other owners.the other morning i was leaving for work and as i began to pull out onto the main street, my car (while in gear) slipped and the rpms revved as i sat crossing the two lanes of traffic! was not a fun time.this is not the first time the car has put me into a uncomfortable scenario.keep in mind the car has 40,000miles.

This make and model has defective seatbelt sensors. These seatbelt sensors are wired into the airbag system and in the event of a seatbelt sensor shorting out, the air bag light comes on and the car's air bags are disabled. This is a very serious safety issue.

The airbag light came on and stayed on.seatbelts and airbags will not properly work or work at all when this light is on. Why shouldn't the 2004 model be included in the safety recall since all other tiburon years except for 2004 were recalled?

Air bag light came on intermittently several times before remaining on; seatbelt and buckle on driver's side replaced.eight months later the same process occurred on the passenger side of the car.

This is the third time i have had a brake line replaced because according to my mechanic, the poor design allows for the brake line to rub against the shock which eventually wears a hole through the brake line. I've had three separate incidents where my brake pedal has gone completely to the floor. I've had to use my emergency hand brake to keep me from crashing in each instance. I work in the quality field and truly understand defect in design over wear and tear. Brake lines shouldn't have to be replaced every year because of defective design. I am sure there have even serious accidents and perhaps i juries and fatalities because of this design. Again, i work in toy safety and quality and understand that although a product might comply with existing regulations, still be a hazard to a user.

While applying the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop.this caused the consumer to collide into the vehicle in front of him.the driver had taken the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and the mechanic could not duplicate the problem. The incident occurred twice in 12 hours. *sc

Car drove fine one night, next morning the rear brakes were locked up.the car has 30,000 miles on it and the rear breaks were wore down just to where the warning squeal plate was starting to rub on the rotor (so there was still some pad left).i think what caused the brakes to lock up is the automatic adjusting screw for the emergency brake is too short and the brake piston had advanced all the way off of the screw which then caused the brakes to stick in position.while this did not cause a wreck in our case, i think it is a defective design and i am worried about it causing a wreck for someone else (or for us when these brakes wear out again at 60,000 mi).i would like to have these brakes looked at by an expert to determine if there is a potential danger like i think there is.

Steering will not stay in no more then 6 mouths and almost instead they go out .on alignments . It has been going on seens this car

The contact owns a 2004 hyundai tiburon. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the serpentine belt needed to be replaced. Additionally, there was a loud abnormal noise heard when driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the serpentine belt was tightened yet the failure persisted. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

Interior power door locks do not function. Unable to unlock doors from inside car. Locks occupants in car!!

Three engine's have been replaced in my vehicle. After the last engine replacement several bolts have fallen out of the engine support bracket. Several other bolts ate loose or ready to fall out. Nothing has been done yet. I have filed a case with the bbb.

Left front window inoperative.wheel pulled to right on braking, resulting in accident. The dealer installed a new window motor.the dealer attempted to alleviate the vehicle's pulling problem by aligning the vehicle but that did not help.the dealer ordered heavy duty bolts hoping this wil correct the problem.

The lower control arm completely rusted through. Have pictures. Son driving car on our driveway and car started making noise and started pulling hard to the left. Drove back to house to inspect and lower control arm on drivers side had rusted apart allowing tire to be uncontrollable. Contacted hyundai and they say there is no problem. Several instances of this same problem on the internet, with many involving crashes. This is a very serious issue and could cause serious injury or death if it happens at road speed. Lucky for us it was on our driveway.

2004 tiburon had a problem with the air condition, speakers rattle, cigarette lighter and problems when switching to first and reverse gears.the sun roof didn't close properly. The air bag light illuminated due to a loose connection under the seat. One of the taillights were out.

The consumer applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor.the vehicle suddenly accelerated uncontrollably.the consumer was able to control the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection.however the mechanic could not duplicate the problem.the consumerinformed the mechanic that this problemoccurred more than once and had not been resolved.this problem would occur when the consumer was entering a parking space, making a left turn at a low speed, and when the consumer's foot was on the brake. *sc

Wheels severely bent while under normal driving conditions causing severe vibrations.

17" ten spoke mag wheel cracked resulting in instantaneous loss of tire air. This wheel is eomand has no visible damage. Had this occurred at highway speed, or on a curve it would have caused loss of vehicle control and a potentially fatal accident.
