On february 19 2019 i was driving a car rentalfrom hertzdriving on the freeway in southern ca driving only 25 mph i crashed trying to avoid crashing into car in front of me kept putting on my breaks and the car would not stopped the breaks malfunction i tried to changing lane i still crashed i was going 25 mph the car was totaledbumper was plastic or fiber glass the air bag "exploded" not deployed. The plastic compartment where the airbags is stored, explode plastic became a jagged knife.it punctured a hole on my legs sliced other part of my legs when air bag explode some of the plastic was released and sliced my legs, air bag releases extreme smoke inside the car all you are inhaling is smoke. Air bag i was in and out of consciousness from smoke inhalation i became dehydrated throwing up trapped from the airbag that is pasted against the driver side door. The airbag when it explode becomes a death trapped!!!instead of saving peoples life the plastic material manufacture the air bag is aplastic material it sticks tightly against the door if you do not have any strength to try to peel off or pull the airbag off the door you become trapped... If the crash does not kill you thesmoke inhalation and being trapped by the airbagwill!when airbag it explodes the plastic compartment becomes a jagger knife the airbag releases extreme smoke after air bag explodes i was taken to emergency room i was given a technic shot behind airbag and plastic explode. When i got out the emergency room three days later i went to the tow place to take a look at the car and took video pictures and took pictures of the airbag jagged plasticthat caused my injury.. Car rental is just worried about there car not me i almost died
- sudden accecleration surge when releasing brake. When turning into parking and when light turn green and releasing brake. - spuratic acceleration decreasewhen driving... Most recent: pulling into parking stall ( left)as i pulled foward and release brake to move up another foot, the car suddenly accelerated. Car went over parking block ( 1-2 feet infront of me) then jump over into a tree. ( 1-2 feet in front of parking block). Force of surge left skid marks on parking block. Air bags did not deploy, but caused serious damage(approx 5k)
Head on collision with a deer, going 70mph on highway 49. No air bags released. After taking car to dealership, from receiving a letter of recall in the mail. Motor would shut down when reaching 65 mph, before taking car to dealership for recal. Car was in motion on the highway.
Deer ran in front of my car.air bags inflated and stayed so for quite a while.when i got out of the cari noticed my foot was burnt with skin off and legs wereburning from the powder in air bags.i know the bags should inflat but the smokefrom this kept up for quite a while.i did not think this powder should have kept coming out so much and so did passerby people who stopped to help. We hadthe powder in our eyes.
Air bag lights keep coming on
The airbag indicator light came on while i was driving. I contacted the dealer who was unable to inspect for a period of time. During the period of time, the sensor no longer lit. I brought it to a local mechanic who checked the codes. It appeared the driver's side airbag had illuminated the sensor. He tried to replace but it's on 6 weeks back-order.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the front driver's side cv axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact called crystal chrysler dodge jeep ram of brooksville located at 14358 cortez blvd, brooksville, fl 34613, (352) 597-1265, and notified the dealer of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 15v678000 (electrical system), however her vin was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 122,000.
I got the oil changed on my 2016 sonata. The mechanic that changed my oil told me the engine was low on oil when he changed the oil. A week later i checked the oil to make sure the oil level was good still. I had to add three quarts of oil to the vehicle. The next week my wife complained about a weird smell coming from the car. I checked the oil again and the engine oil was low again. I added three quarts of oil once again. The sonata is driven in the city with alot of stop and go traffic. Not one time did the check engine light come on to warn us of low oil. Additionally, we never observed any oil spots in the driveway from leaking oil. Now we continue to smell the weird odor and i have to add oil to the car every week. No visual oil leak is seen and the driveway does not show signs of a leak.

Yesterday evening 14oct2019 vehicle was unable to power up, hybrid system hev warning light went on as well as the check engine light.tried several attempts to get the car going. Finally got it going. Brought it to the dealer for diagnosis 15oct2019.
We were driving along at 70 mph and suddenly the engine stalled and electrical gauges all turned off for 15 seconds, meaning all gauges went to the left like when you turn your car off. Dealer said that they found nothing wrong. They said to let them know if it happens again????????????? . I told them that how could we let them know if we are both dead.
Fuel pump control module replaced before 50,000 mi. - 58,539 mi. Got my 2016 hyundai sonata sport for ecm update. Told dealership i heard ticking/clicking noise coming from engine; said oil was low and suggested oil change & low key battery was causing issues. Oil consumption was more and more 1qt every 2,000 mi, then 1qt every 1,000 mi. 1/29/21 at 90,340 mi, on the turnpike (70 mph), car check engine light came on, car started vibrating very bad, pulled over & limp mode had activated. Hyundai dealership was 5 miles away, - found cylinder 2 had a misfire(s) - one of 2 exhaust valves burned a hole through; valve seat -damaged. Cylinder head and exhaust valves, spark plugs were replaced, & oil change. Engine light came on a couple days later car did not go to limp mode. 2/12/21 at 93,466 mi, took the car to hyundai for service again, exhaust cam phaser failing, replaced cvvt & timing chain tensioner & rtv silicone. 4/21/21-103,821 mi. Went for an oil change & oil consumption test, went back after less than 1,000 mi, hyundai dealership stated that the car was .73 qts low and normal, i checked before the service, oil was closer to the "e"than "f". Dealership unreliable; did not complete test. Adding oil about 2 qts every 1,000 mi. Car was also idling weird no warning lights. 7/22/21, catastrophic break down while driving on the turnpike (70 mph), car died, after all lights and gauges shot up. No warning lights before issue. Lost power steering, coasted at 70 mph to 0 mph (in 30 seconds), barley to side of the road, late night needed a tow. Battery & alternator fried because of this - replaced next day. Car starts now; wont get past 2,000 rpm & stalls out after 5 mins of running in "p"- no warning lights, engine rocks before shut off. No warning lights on after restarting. Called hyundai corp. Case sent to supervisor, no help getting the car to dealership, no rental, told not to expect a call before 8/3/21. All oil services completed at or before suggested intervals.

While the vehicle is moving the check hybrid system warning light beeps and comes on. The message request to turn engine off. The gas engine sometimes will cut the power to the vehicle causing the vehicle to loss power on the road.
Hi my 2016 rear break light doesn't light up neither just the rear window lights up..mymy warning light on dashdash board doesn't light up is there's a recall for this and front parking socket is no good i change bulbs to no help and you have to change the whole front light assemblywhich is way too expensive for a parking light can help with this mager problem
Yes i was driving on the expressway i saw smoke coming from my vents. I made it to the nearest neighborhood by my home stopped for it to cool down for 10 minutes i start my car back up & it was perfectly fine by time i made it to a stop sign it caught on fire while i was in the car. The fire department told me it was due to an electric/engine problem & nothing was my fault. I don't have insurance to cover it. The next morning i found out on the internet that all hyundai's and kias have a re call on cars due to engine fire risk. I was really devastated when i found out that my car has been on re call not once or twice but three times. By law, iam authorize to get a car or a check of how much the car is worth. I talked to hyundai motor america headquarters mrs.gretchen told me that they notify me at the address that the car was registered in & not my current address and also she stated it's my fault. Which i don't understand how when nobody called text or email me personally just to see if i made it to my re call appointment in january. Not only i had another one in march i didn't know about as well then they have another re call i just found out about in june hyundai better and has to do something now i could of lost my life & i lost everything i had my phone fedex equipment important paperwork etc. Fyi insurance has nothing to do with a re call car. By law i suppose to get something for that

On september 1,2019 my car wouldnt start. I purchased a battery and a it turned over. On september 8th i drove to get a oil change and tune up which seemed abnormal when i got home. There was a ticking noise. I wasnt sure what was causing the ticking noise so i didnt drive the car. On september 9th i got into car and started it when i noticed a knocking noise, the noise accelerated once i pressed on gas pedal so i didnt want to drive it. My check engine light is rapidly blinking.
In june of 2020 i got an emergency warning on my vehicle's dash that there was a problem with the hybrid system and should stop my car immediately and take it to the dealership. The vehicle slowed to 20 m.p.h. Then came to a stop, i took the car to the dealer where it was kept for 10 days, i was told they could not duplicate the problem and i picked up the vehicle. Half a block from the dealer it happened again, i returned the vehicle to the dealer they said it was a spark plug which was replaced. I expressed my concern with the car coming to a stop in themiddle of traffic. On march 3, 2021, the same thing happened, a warning on my dash, the vehicle slowed and came to a complete stop. I again took it to the dealer and was told that the electronic system was having issues with the water pump and new pump would be ordered. I again expressed concern as now i do not feel the vehicle is safe to drive. I live in southern california and take the freeways on a regular basis. Having the car come to a stop in the middle of a busy freeway is extremely dangerous to me and other drivers.
My alarm horn dont work, my overhead light does not shut off properly , doors dont lock back shows opned when closed. Water in back door latch froze and cracked my casing. This all happemed at the same time. Drained my battery and they replaced a box in door. Now battery dies again and it is doing it again. A constant problem since last year. It is not dependable for me due to disabled and senior citzen.
After filling tank for long road trips the car does not start and the check hev hybrid system light comes on.
Tpms indicators continue to say there is an issue and the tire and tire pressure but the car shows the correct tire pressure and there is no damage to the tires.
If i open the driver side door while the vehicle is on, a warning light "check bsd system" is displayed on the info display.the warning stays on until the vehicle is turned off and turned back on.it shuts down the driver assistance feature on the vehicle.i've taken it into the dealership twice and they are unable to tell me why this is happening and have not been able to fix the problem.the service write up person asked was the vehicle in an accident, but i just purchased this vehicle new and it was only driven by the finance manager prior to me.
I stopped for gas and when i attempted to start car an alert came across my screen saying car has a hev issue and check engine light. I would have to wait for 15 to 20 minutes for my car to start again.i was assuming it was bad gas but mechanic confirmed that it wasn't a bad gas issue. I went to the dealership and they said it's a potential electric issue that my warranty does not cover.i had yet even exceed mileage above 70000 miles.i believe this is an issue that is an inconvenience to me and other drivers because it is starting to happen more frequently. At about 58k miles i started to notice when i turned the turn signal to indicate a left turn the right blinker would come on and then after a moment switch to the left or not switch at all. This was totally random. I tried to capture it on camera to show my local dealer before the 60k warranty ran out but i could never capture it because it was so random and they could not replicate it. Over the last year the issue has gotten worse where nearly every time i use the left turn signal the right signal will turn on instead. The last time my car was in for service i mentioned it again and told them i think they can replicate the issue because it happens nearly every time now. When i indicate a left signal and the right signal comes on other cars think i am merging into them while my signal is stuck. The signal stock seems to have an electrical issue sending the correct signal to the lights. This is a clear safety issue and i hope it does not cause accidents as the signals become stuck. This occurs regardless of vehicle speed.
Car was in motion at about 75mph on the highway when it jerked really hard then lost all power, making it a very unsafe situation for not only my family but also other drivers. The lights on the dashboard went all crazy and it hasn't started since that happened, car was towed to a dealership where they are stating it's a recall on the ecm.
Hard shifts when in sport mode and when it doesn't do a hard shift the vehicle will shut off on the highwaycausing the headlights and power steering to not fiction cause a possible crash have to stop and put in park to restart engine
Without clear cause this rental car's power steering stopped working while driving at slow to moderate speeds- the first time we were in a parking lot so able to pull into a safe place after a tow company checked it out and it seemed to have spontaneously resolved we tried to drive it a short distance at slow speeds and the dashboard started to flash on and off and the power steering cut again.
When driving sometimes the bsd system turn off without any advance warning, this could cause accidents, the blind spot collision warning hyundaineed to be reviewed well and address the issue. Many people complain about this.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

While driving, the check hybrid system warning light came on. This began in september 2020. I would pull over and turn the ignition off then restart the vehicle and it would be fine and light would be off. This happened a few times and then on a long distance trip i shift it off and it took about15-20 minutes to restart. The dealership said it was the relay assembly and that it was a recall. It had completely melted the casing around my battery. They replaced it for free in october. Now in january it has started the same thing. I will never get another hyundai. This car has had more problems than my 2000 honda accord that has 300,000 miles on it. And my hyundai only has 84,000.
I had to replace the battery within a month of getting the car, then again 6 months later. The radio and back up camera went out after a year of having it. The headlights kept going out, and eventually the wiring started burning. Battery went out again along with the alternator now. Mid drive the lights would cut off, speed thermometer would be off by 15, and almost impossible to turn the wheel.
I was driving the car and the car started spitting and did not want to go. Then white smoke came out of the tail pipe. I cut the car of and waited in traffic with my baby in the car , then turned the car back on. The engine light came on and the car drove like it had no energy. I was on my way to my new job for the first day.
During long distance driving once the vehicle is stopped for gas the hev warning light comes on.the car will not re-start for 15 -30 minutes.once restarted the check engine light comes on.this has happend 3 times.the first two the thought was a long distance drive in the heat of summer.this last time it was fall/winter so the hypothsis of summer heat was thrown out the window.the most recent time the gas mileage went down drastically and the voltage for the electric system was acting erratically.the check engine light was on for 2 days but the car was only driven to the dealer.the dealer quickly found the problem and repaired under warranty "open recall".the car has not been driven any long distances since.the diagnosis was "main relay/power relay/cable (20-01-003h) caused by t4m.power relay module melted at relay"installed 37583-a8000-qqh: relay-high voltage main, 37514-g0000-qqh: relay assy-power, replaced power relay assy module per campaign "warranty" hope this information helps others....hope this is truly the fix as it is an "open recall" that should be a recall".glad this did not cause a fire.
This is the 2nd time the 'check bsd system' alarmed.first time was almost a year ago, and the dealer change some sensors (charge me for it).now on 02/06/2021 when i started my car in the morning and the message error appears again.still waiting for the dealer to grant me an appointment.

Numerous posts and this has occurred to me numerous times within the past 2 months. After driving vehicle on the freeway, and getting off to get gas or stop to get groceries or anything, when the vehicle is turned off, check hybrid system light comes on and vehicle is disabled. Will not start or attempt to start for at least 20 minutes. When vehicle starts back up the check engine light comes on and stays on until the vehicle is turned off again then the cel goes away. Sounds like numerous people are having this issue, i however have been lucky that it hasn't shut off while driving on the freeway, sounds like many other people it has. There needs to be a recall or the car be labeled as lemon or something.
My right high beam stopped working, i have to add oil to my car every 3 days. Burns more gas going back and forth to work. Going around a fast highway curb, the engine shut down the speed of my car and would not stop dropping down to 45 mph in a 70mph packed highway. Awful experience. Called in the problem to hyundai and they didn't show any care. I had an accident happen and i don't know if the electrical problem could be a result to the accidents. The case has been closed and nothing but a paper from a lawyer about getting $1000 for my car being at high risk. I have the case number available. It's been nearly a year.

Rear tail lights keeps burning out. This seems to be consistent with other consumers and hyundai has not done a recall. See forums and videos online from other complaints. I have owner this car for 2 years took it into dealership cause i was contacted that the vehicle needed a campaign update car got the update about two weeks later while on highway car went into limp mode speed dropped from 60 to 30 miles an hour check engine light came on and started flashingtook it back to dealer they did another update took car about month later while on highway check engine light came on again they did another update on car picked it up drove it another month light came on again took it back to dealer the did another update and changed wiring harness picked car up again driving on the street about 30 miles an hour check engine light on again took it to dealer they said they did a lower bearing test which sent results to hyundai america corporate office and did another update on car lower bearing test came back good came to pick car up on my way home from dealership on highway again it goes into limp mode speed drop from 60 to 30 check engine light flashing again take it back to dealership the advisor tells me tech read the codes turned off light but had it running and check engine light keeps coming on i was told tech was waiting on engineers to contact him to see what next step he should take mind you they now have had my car for almost 3 weeks by this time i reached out to customer relations to escalate case tech said a duplicate code came up on car p1326 i was told that part was replaced which would be the second wiring harness after at least 5 updates to car tech test drove car he said no lights and no metal was found /lf wiring install/noise insp also says something about wiring harness-knock sensor picked car up on 4/27 dropped off on 4/07 since picking car up seems to drive worser than it did before dropping it off the rpm gage seems to struggle to move when accerating it not happy or satisfied with work done scared to have my family incar
On more than one occasion i have almost had a collision because the other driver was coming into my lane and i honked my horn, but it isn't loud enough to be heard. Apparently this has been an issue with the sonata since 2011.
Onoctober 26th my husband was driving myself and our 2 children when all of a sudden we went from going 45 miles an hour to stopping and then even after the gas pedal was pushed all the way to the floor we we were going approx 5 miles am hour. Our engine light came on and aftet approx 5 to 10 min we found a place to pull over as there were no pulloffs readily available. Aftet we pulled off the road we shut the car off for a few minutes and restarted the car and were able to make it home . The engine ligjt was still on but power and speed were restored. We called our hyundai dealer on fri morning and they said to bring it down on monday. The car sat all weekend and was not driven due ro fear of it happening again. I did however start the car on friday and engine light was still on. We brought the car down mon at 9am. The engine light was now off but the hyundai mechanic said even if the light was off a code would still be in the system. We received a call around 3pm saying they could not find anything wrongbut even they did not under why no code at all showed up. They are keeping the car until friday to keep starying and driving it to see if something happens. Mu husband did report the issue to hyundai and they said they will investigate. If this were to happen again with someone driving behind us it could be a very serious accident. Very nervous and scared something can happen especially driving my yound children around.

When i go uphill it shakes. When i'm driving it will cut out. We have replaces plugs 2x in 6 months a sensor. It burns through a quart of oil every 400 miles.
The intake manifold control runner motor has had to be replaced in my car multiple times. Twice from may 2021 to july 2021. The check engine light would come on and would reduce car performance drastically. Code scanner gave the p200a performance bank 1.
2016 sonata engine failure. Vehicle's engine seized while in motion driving down the highway. Cylinder #4 penetrated the engine block and damaged the bell housing of the transmission. Both engine and transmission are having to be replaced.
It initially started around a couple of months ago. I was driving and my oil light came on. I took it to the dealership thinking it was not topped off correctly since the last oil change 2,700 miles prior to the light turning on. The dealership says "there was no oil on the dipstick." performed an oil consumption test. The most recent report showed that my "oil was 3 quarts low". The dealer advised me to trade the car in since i do not have the warranty on my car anymore to fix it. I just bought the car last april. I have maintained the car with it's recommended services and use full synthetic oil. I drive a lot of highway miles, but i take care of my car since it is an investment. I cannot afford to finance another car. Thank you.

In oct..2020 my sonata was at pep-boys auto for a synthetic-oil change. Pep-boys called me to advise can't service the car for the oil change. Since last oil change 6k miles ago their was no oil in the engine.they saw this several times in the last year with 2.0 engine, they want no responsibility and said take your car to the dealer & open casethe engine has a serious flaw, it burns the oil with the gasoline.they said a recall? documents attached.i went totexan hyundai, put my car through a series of tests every 1000 miles.i was told the engine can be replaced you in the 10 yrs, however you over the 100k miles,willnot b covered, a hyundai motors would cover 50% . Was told engines last 250-300k miles.i spent over 2k for ext. Warranty. It ran out at 100k.hyundai has not backed up their car. Sonata hybrid was sold to me being dependable & lasting years.it failed terribly, imaintained my car always and now need nhtsaplease help. On hyundai forums many2.0 have same situation with oil disappearing.i prepaid on credit card $3531.00, texan hyundai placed order for a new engine.back ordered.date to fix will be in during the month of july2021. All miles r highway to and from, katy to brenham college has no hills all straight run since day bought.these engines should last, there is a failure in design?not dependable car. Very defective 2.0 engine. Last 2 yr's i would smell burning oil in my car, i would open the window since no lights on dash.no oil in the engine, no dash light? pep-boys said those lights never were lit on the defective cars. When accelerating there is a ticking noise coming from engine. This has been happening for a while after i got the update and new wiring harness from the campaign. I'm scared to drive my car, i accelerate slowly because i get nervous it will blow up. I took this car to a hyundai dealership and they quoted me over 500 dollars for this repair and it might not even fix it.

Hello i purchased a 2016 hyundai sonata 4/8/2020 with 110,743 miles on it with now 116,000. About a month ago my check engine light came on with no symptoms to the naked eye . Maybe a week later i could feel the difference in the speed control the air intake seemed very sluggish it won't take off from the line it will drag before it decides to pick up speed . Now the issue is that this is a common problem with these specific cars with no recall on them. This is an expensive fix that i should not be responsible for. Code p200 intake manifold .. Mileage approx 68,000 with regular oil changes, the engine made loud clanking sounds upon startup.car was towed to dealer where diagnosis was catastrophic engine failure due to connecting rod bearings wearing prematurely despite sufficient oil in reservoir.car has been at van nuys, ca hundyai dealer since early november 2020.in early december, hundyai posted a recall 198 which specified connecting rod bearing wearing prematurely on their "safety recalls and service campaigns" website page.however, my vin number references no recalls.meanwhile, the long block engine in my model is no longer available or manufactured.a short block would have to be adapted.hundyai offered a 75% of repair "good will" payment, but that was before their admission of problems with the connecting rods.i notice on your site that others have the same problem.i've had to rent a car for twelve weeks with no end in sight.the dealership would charge me at least $1600 as my 25% of the repair.hundyai should pay 100% and reimburse me my car rental expenses.i still have no idea when the car will be repaired.it is sitting at the dealer.
Used car with 86,000 miles on it. On the 90th after buying car from used car dealership, a rattling noise became apparent. When i took the car to a mechanic, it was determined the engine was blown. They said that it was seized and if i had been on the freeway, it could've been catastrophic. After some research, i found a proposal for the settlement of a class action lawsuit including many hyundai and kia cars. The settlement included all hyundai sonata vehicles years 2011-2018 and some 2019 vehicles. My car is clearly one of the cars affected. I am seeking help from the nhtsa so that hyundai can take responsibility for their careless mistakes that have already resulted in many accidents and car fires. A hyundai dealership will be looking at my car on january, 6th 2020. I'm anticipating them trying to brush this under the rug and blaming the issues on me despite having the car for only 90 days after purchase along with the abundant knowledge of hyundai and kia knowingly using faulty engines. I need your help to ensure they fix their mistakes at no cost to me and other owners. My car is part of hyundai recall number 198. They sent the letters out in january stating there is no remedy yet. My engine was affected buy this and had to be towed to the dealership. I've been without my car for six weeks now. I make several calls to the consumer affairs number. I have been told twice that a case manager will call me, i still have not been called. No one is offering an estimated date on the remedy. No one is offering a rental car until there is a remedy.
While driving my vehicle when i go to accelerate there is a clicking or ticking noise and the car acts as if it doesn't want to accelerate. I've tried getting a mechanic to look at the vehicle and have even replaced parts but the problem continues. I tried looking online and i find a lot of people having the same issue.
I stopped for gas and when i attempted to start car an alert came across my screen saying car has a hev issue and check engine light. I would have to wait for 15 to 20 minutes for my car to start again.i was assuming it was bad gas but mechanic confirmed that it wasn't a bad gas issue. On my drive home from work, the car started smoking. I was initially driving on a highway, but had just turned onto a side street. The smoke began to get worse and was coming into the cabin. I was able to pull over and as soon as i could get out of the car, the car completely engulfed into flames. Hyundai was unable to determine a cause of the fire.
As i was driving the car to a vacation resort, the car caught fire and was completely destroyed. Myself, adult son, and wife were in the car at the time. We were luckly to get out of the car before it blew up and killed us all. The car was melted down and completed destroyed. This event happened on may 2, 2021 near pooler, ga. The only warning sign was smoke, then flames. We lost engine, brakes and control. We hit a light pole to stop the car. Police reports and fire department reports were filed.
I noticed a recall for premature engine damage for some hyundai models. I have a 2016 sonata that is experiencing the same warning signs. Abnormal knocking noises from the engine and the oil light will illuminate after adding oil within a few weeks. I've also noticed a burning smell from time to time. The engine light is not on. Before the knocking noise began i would notice hesitation in acceleration every now and then but it wasn't constant. The knocking noise is during driving and even more so when turning. This is my only vehicle and i have taken it in for maintenance when needed but this happened suddenly and i am unable to figure out why. On the recall list is the 2016 sonata hybrid but with my sonata being of the same year i am sure it should also be on the recall list since the issues are identical.
During long distance driving once the vehicle is stopped for gas the hev warning light comes on.the car will not re-start for 15 -30 minutes.once restarted the check engine light comes on.this has happend 3 times.the first two the thought was a long distance drive in the heat of summer.this last time it was fall/winter so the hypothsis of summer heat was thrown out the window.the most recent time the gas mileage went down drastically and the voltage for the electric system was acting erratically.the check engine light was on for 2 days but the car was only driven to the dealer.the dealer quickly found the problem and repaired under warranty "open recall".the car has not been driven any long distances since.the diagnosis was "main relay/power relay/cable (20-01-003h) caused by t4m.power relay module melted at relay"installed 37583-a8000-qqh: relay-high voltage main, 37514-g0000-qqh: relay assy-power, replaced power relay assy module per campaign "warranty" hope this information helps others....hope this is truly the fix as it is an "open recall" that should be a recall".glad this did not cause a fire.
My car has slowly been consuming more and more oil as its life goes on. I currently have 80,000 miles on it and i can't even go a whole 3,000 miles without an oil change or adding more oil because it goes through it all. Something needs done about it as this is not normal for a car.

My coil packs keep going out. I just changed them in august now here it is november and my check engine light is back on and my car is jerking. My car is burning through oil like crazy. I can get my oil changed and in about 500 miles the oil change light is back on. I do not have an oil leak so i don't know where my oil is going.
Fuel pump control module replaced before 50,000 mi. - 58,539 mi. Got my 2016 hyundai sonata sport for ecm update. Told dealership i heard ticking/clicking noise coming from engine; said oil was low and suggested oil change & low key battery was causing issues. Oil consumption was more and more 1qt every 2,000 mi, then 1qt every 1,000 mi. 1/29/21 at 90,340 mi, on the turnpike (70 mph), car check engine light came on, car started vibrating very bad, pulled over & limp mode had activated. Hyundai dealership was 5 miles away, - found cylinder 2 had a misfire(s) - one of 2 exhaust valves burned a hole through; valve seat -damaged. Cylinder head and exhaust valves, spark plugs were replaced, & oil change. Engine light came on a couple days later car did not go to limp mode. 2/12/21 at 93,466 mi, took the car to hyundai for service again, exhaust cam phaser failing, replaced cvvt & timing chain tensioner & rtv silicone. 4/21/21-103,821 mi. Went for an oil change & oil consumption test, went back after less than 1,000 mi, hyundai dealership stated that the car was .73 qts low and normal, i checked before the service, oil was closer to the "e"than "f". Dealership unreliable; did not complete test. Adding oil about 2 qts every 1,000 mi. Car was also idling weird no warning lights. 7/22/21, catastrophic break down while driving on the turnpike (70 mph), car died, after all lights and gauges shot up. No warning lights before issue. Lost power steering, coasted at 70 mph to 0 mph (in 30 seconds), barley to side of the road, late night needed a tow. Battery & alternator fried because of this - replaced next day. Car starts now; wont get past 2,000 rpm & stalls out after 5 mins of running in "p"- no warning lights, engine rocks before shut off. No warning lights on after restarting. Called hyundai corp. Case sent to supervisor, no help getting the car to dealership, no rental, told not to expect a call before 8/3/21. All oil services completed at or before suggested intervals.
I purchased my 2016 sonata used from hertz. About 4 months after the purchase i was hearing rattling sporadically from the engine and consuming oil. At the present time i add 1 quart for after 400 miles of driving. If i put in high text gas the rattling doesn't happen as often but this engine doesn't require high test gas. Regardless i'm still consuming much to much oil. I read that others have had engines seizing and some daught on fire. This seems to be a real danger and i feel its a problem that should be resolved by hyundai.
Driving down the road at 65 mph, the engine started making a ticking noise. Further down the road the ticking became knocking. This prompted the command center to tell me to turn the vehicle off immediately.the vehicle would no longer crank and was giving a camshaft sensor code. I received a recall notice 5 days later. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership. After being told i would need a new engine, and that it wasn't a recall issue, i called national. After a week or so it was confirmed that hyundai would replace the motor at their expense. Never confirming it was because of the recall though i had all the symptoms other than catching on fire. It has now been 2 months and my motor is supposedly on back order, but coming in weekly. Hyundai seems to really be dragging there feet though they lost a lawsuit over motor issues before.

On september 1,2019 my car wouldnt start. I purchased a battery and a it turned over. On september 8th i drove to get a oil change and tune up which seemed abnormal when i got home. 2016 sonata with 103,000 mile. Increased oil consumption.regular full synthetic oil changes have been followed. The engine burns out oil well before oil change is due.oil lamp flickers.mechanic states oils is burning up and released through exhaust therefore no leaks detected.2nd issue: p2122 check engine code. Diagnostics reveals pedal acceleration sensor faulty.part was $202.not sure if this is misdiagnosed and related to sluggish engine due to oil consumption.

From april of 2020 to july of 2021.i have had 3 sets of 3 oil consumption tests for my car at 3 different hyundai dealerships. I have spent $400-500 dollars on oil changes, oil filter cleaning, and fixing an oil peg that was broke. Which was not brought to my attention right away even though i was going to dealer ships almost every month this year. I just finished the final oil consumption test here in conroe, texas. Even though from the latest oil consumption tests, i have burnt.50-1 full quart of oil. They still have denied me an engine replacement. My oil changes does not last 5k miles but barely 1k. The oil is always black, it never is honey gold for long .because hyundai is not giving me a new engine to resolve this issue despite all these tests and there being a lawsuit on this make /model. I now have to pay for an oil change every month rather than the average of 2 times a year. I do feel treated unfairly and not heard by hyundai. It does not feel right to not have this fixed. I understand it is out of warranty .can i please open an investigation on this matter ? thank you
Ecm issues.car had ecm problem and lost power. Went into the dealer, and they said they repaired it. Didn't even make it home from the dealer and it happened again. Back to dealer and they said again it was repaired. Car had 10,000 miles on it at the time. Less than 3,000 miles later, it happened again - car completely shut off on the highway. Complete loss of power. Dealer claimed it was the same problem and "fixed" it with a software update. Now scared to drive it - considering lemon law? three problems in 6 months on a brand new car, and same problem every single time.
Hyundai campaign198.we received the notice but it still shows as "no remedy". It's been over 2 months and dealer just tells us the car "may" be unsafe to drive.so i have a trip in two weeks that is driving 17 hours each way, in an unsafe vehicle with my family at freeway speeds. You can't check a connecting rod bearing so the remedy is engine replacement. What remedy are you waiting for?
In june of 2020 i got an emergency warning on my vehicle's dash that there was a problem with the hybrid system and should stop my car immediately and take it to the dealership. The vehicle slowed to 20 m.p.h. Then came to a stop, i took the car to the dealer where it was kept for 10 days, i was told they could not duplicate the problem and i picked up the vehicle. Half a block from the dealer it happened again, i returned the vehicle to the dealer they said it was a spark plug which was replaced. I expressed my concern with the car coming to a stop in themiddle of traffic. On march 3, 2021, the same thing happened, a warning on my dash, the vehicle slowed and came to a complete stop. I again took it to the dealer and was told that the electronic system was having issues with the water pump and new pump would be ordered. I again expressed concern as now i do not feel the vehicle is safe to drive. I live in southern california and take the freeways on a regular basis. Having the car come to a stop in the middle of a busy freeway is extremely dangerous to me and other drivers.
I am starting to have issues with my car burning oil with no leaks. I haven't even been a month (1,000) miles and my car literally had no oil. I only have 60,000 mile on the car. The engine at times has shook with the check engine light one but i had turned off the car and started it back up and it stopped. It only happens on occasion but now i'm burning and after reading these comments i see it is an overall issue with multiple cars. A recall should be put in effect as it's the same issue.
Driving into a traffic circle car suddenly stopped then lurched forward making a squealing noise. Again, almost t-boned. The engine light then lit and bluelink posted a message on screen that car has an engine issue and to call dealer. Bluelink roadside assistance took 7 hours to get tow truck to me, dealer would not give loaner car until they received mine - lost a day's work and car laid up 5 days. Exactly one week after emergency brake self engaged and seized wheels while driving.
While the vehicle is moving the check hybrid system warning light beeps and comes on. The message request to turn engine off. The gas engine sometimes will cut the power to the vehicle causing the vehicle to loss power on the road.
Excessive oil consumption possible engine problem
Got an engine light at 37k miles.took the car to dealership initially told was vcm motor, replaced, left dealer and light came back on, told they forgot to update software after replacing vcm motor, left dealer and light came back on. Went back to dealer for third time and after they called hyundai engineering the discovered that the entire manifold needed to be replaced as it was somehow wedged into the engine. Was covered by warranty as should be.this somewhat helped my acceleration issues but was told it was a safety issues because if anything from the plastic manifold broke off in engine it would cause the rods to bend and could cause engine to seize and catch on fire.
Car shakes erratically when trying to accelerate and has no power after hitting accelerator. It struggles to get any power to get going after being stopped at a red light. Gear changes get stuck and i have literally been stuck in middle of intersection while doing a legal u-turn in a busy busy laintersection with my 10yr old in the back seat and the only way to get out of the situation was to turn car off and turn on again which poses a major safety issue for both my daughter and myself. Took car in to service last week and they supposedly fixed issue but one week later here we are with same problem. Service told me it looks like solenoid is going out. Which seems strange for a 2016 car with only 27,000. So if this was the case why not change it before it was sold to me. Also car had prior issues before it was sold to me according to service. I smell recall???? i have no documentation but the dealer has all supporting paperwork.
I went into the dealer to get an oil change on 3/14/2019. The dealer chose to do a factory recall 50hyz. Soon as i left the dealer my car started stalling on 495 north towards tyson corner in virginia, jerking and lost drivetrain power. I could get to 60mph and the car wouldn't respond after that. I took the car back to the dealer. I was told the software updated bricked my sonata. The dealer told me they will order the part and will come in 3/21/2019 which is today. Only to get a call saying the part is on back order into may. My question is why isn't holding hyundai accountable for this? my car isn't the first one to get this software update so if hyundai knows this software is going to brink peoples car how in the hell are they allowed to keep doing this recall when they have no clue when the part will be available?

Engine is using 3 quarts of oil per 2,000 miles and transmission keeps have shifting problems that they just keep reprogramming it to fix, engine stalls.
Car loses power while driving. This incident has happened 3 separate times since purchasing this vehicle. It is unsafe, and no engine indicator lights have ever come on. The car continues to have motor issues now that it is out of hyundai's warranty. Hyundai has never found a clear solution and continues to "guess" at fixes as issue doesn't always replicate itself during service. Event has happened 3 different dates
Oil light began to turn on when making turns or braking. Took vehicle to location of last oil change, despite only being 2600 miles after the previous oil change and was informed "there was no oil" despite no evidence of any leak. At that rate, i'd be burning a quart of oil every 500 miles. I see there are recalls for this issue on multiple hyundais including the sonata, but different years than my 2016 sonata sport, and it includes the possibility of an engine fire.
*the engine is the component with the issue.the car is at the dealership and has been for the past almost 6 weeks. *the car started "stuttering" or "stalling"while my son and i were in the car.my son has special needs.luckily, it happened on our street and i was able to get back to my home. *the dealership has identified the problem:the car was 3 quarts low on oil and the oil had been leaking into the spark plugs.the car only has around 32500 miles on it.hyundai has requested an oil consumption test.this requires me to drive it 1000 miles and have oil checked.they want me to do this 3 times!i will not feel safe doing that, knowing that oil is leaking into the spark plug assembly.i transport my special needs son and another young man who is severely autistic.i cannot take the chance of the car stalling while out driving possibly causing an accident. I barely put 50 miles on my car during a week.it will take me forever to do the oil consumption test.they know oil is leaking into the spark plugs. *the car started having issues (while in reverse) a week before the check engine light came on.no other warning lamps or messages appeared. Recall on vehicle. On march 9, 2021, the engine started making a concerning noise so we immediately set up an appointment to get it looked at by hatchett hyundai. The soonest they could get it in was monday, march 15, 2021. However, on thursday, march 11, 2021, the engine made a terrifying noise and stopped driving (on a residential road) which we have recorded. We paid to have it towed to hatchett hyundai. Michael was able to hear the engine and what it was doing and it was in line with the recall. On tuesday, march 16, 2021, our specialist michael confirmed that it is in line with the recall and is requesting that the engine be replaced. The engine blew while it was being looked at. The only concern was that it has a salvage title. I said i understand but that salvage title is due to cosmetic damages and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the engine and there shouldn't have been as this vehicle is only five years old and i have owned it for 4 out of the 5 years and maintained it the entire time. Michael and coy (the manager) agreed and they said they didn't see why it would get denied and agreed that it should be replaced. This was on march 19, 2021 when i spoke to michael and coy both. Jerel hick also spoke with michael on march 19, 2021 in greater detail. On monday, march 22, 2021 at 8:56 a.m. I received a call from michael apologizing and saying that they denied the request. I spoke with customer service and am waiting for a call from the escalations team. This is not ok. The engine should be replaced which the technicians agree and said themselves.
I got the oil changed on my 2016 sonata. The mechanic that changed my oil told me the engine was low on oil when he changed the oil. A week later i checked the oil to make sure the oil level was good still. I had to add three quarts of oil to the vehicle. The next week my wife complained about a weird smell coming from the car. I checked the oil again and the engine oil was low again. I added three quarts of oil once again. The sonata is driven in the city with alot of stop and go traffic. Not one time did the check engine light come on to warn us of low oil. Additionally, we never observed any oil spots in the driveway from leaking oil. Now we continue to smell the weird odor and i have to add oil to the car every week. No visual oil leak is seen and the driveway does not show signs of a leak.

There wasn't a gas station or anything around. The car is in shop waiting to see what warranty says about it needing a new engine. All maintenance was done and was in hyundai shop 5 weeks prior with abs unit needing replaced. There was no warning light or engine light that alerted us to a possible issue.

I was driving my vehicle on the highway when it started knocking and would not accelerate above 55mph. I drove straight to the dealership, where i found out the car had ran out of oil. I drive the vehicle for work and it has regular oil changes and maintenance. However, when the vehicle ran out of oil, it did not notify that there were any issues with the engine or oil level. The cars 'check engine' light did not indicate the engine was having issues, after the knocking started. Nor did it indicate it was low or out of oil. The car just worked one day and did not the next. The dealership and manufacturer assumed some liability, but not all. The vehicle should have notified the driver, that it was low on oil. It's extremely unsafe for a vehicle to run out of oil during operation. I also subscribe to a remote vehicle monitoring system and i pay monthly to the manufacturer. That system also did not know that the vehicle was low or out of oil. It did not indicate any issues until the shop repairs the engine.

It took longer than expected, and upon calling back to determine the issue, they said the "engine was gone." they reached out to hyundai corporate and were told the same thing. There were no other signs or symptoms, and the vehicle operated normally during the long trip home.
I got my car in 2017 and it's 2016 hyundai sonata. The month of august 2019 after an oil change my car begin leaking oil as well as shooting out oil from the oil reservoir. Took it to pride hyundai in batesville ms, they said they couldn't find any oil shooting out from the oil reservoir when i know it was. All they did was diagnose for free of charge, and tell me i needed a oil change did by them. I took it for the recall that was on it ecm and they did, but they said it wasn't another recall on it and it is still leaking oil and shooting it out from the reservoir under the hood. Some need to be did about this cause it can cause the engine to fail and i'm still paying on this car and only had it going on two years next month.

I was driving to work when a warning showed up on my vehicle. The warning message said: check hybrid system, turn off engine. The check engine light came on right away and another like shaped in a triangle form with hev written inside of it came on as well. I pulled aside and turn off the engine and call hyundai. I was told they do not have a remedy for the engine recall yet, and they asked me for $9444 to fix the problem it's not their problem even though they have the recall on the engine.
Vehicle has persistent issue with hybrid system. Check engine light will come on, and after some period of time, error message "check hybrid system. Turn off engine." will appear. Car then loses power from combustion engine, and can only operate on electric. Requires pulling the car over, turning the car off, then turning the car back on, which will allow power to the combustion engine to be temporarily restored, but the check engine light will remain on. The car is unsafe to drive in this state until looked at by the dealer. The diagnostic code is p2600.this vehicle has been taken in for service by the same dealer for the same issue four times, and is now scheduled for a fifth. The dealer has been able to fix the issue three times for a period of about 7-12 months after replacing the water pump, but issue continues to recur. Yes i was driving on the expressway i saw smoke coming from my vents. I made it to the nearest neighborhood by my home stopped for it to cool down for 10 minutes i start my car back up & it was perfectly fine by time i made it to a stop sign it caught on fire while i was in the car. The fire department told me it was due to an electric/engine problem & nothing was my fault. I don't have insurance to cover it. The next morning i found out on the internet that all hyundai's and kias have a re call on cars due to engine fire risk. I was really devastated when i found out that my car has been on re call not once or twice but three times. By law, iam authorize to get a car or a check of how much the car is worth. I talked to hyundai motor america headquarters mrs.gretchen told me that they notify me at the address that the car was registered in & not my current address and also she stated it's my fault. Which i don't understand how when nobody called text or email me personally just to see if i made it to my re call appointment in january. Not only i had another one in march i didn't know about as well then they have another re call i just found out about in june hyundai better and has to do something now i could of lost my life & i lost everything i had my phone fedex equipment important paperwork etc. Fyi insurance has nothing to do with a re call car. By law i suppose to get something for that

While driving 65mph at 10pm on a the interstate, i heard a pound "thunk" and thought i had a tire issue, so began to steer toward the emergency lane. I quickly realized i had no power to accelerate, no power steering and the dash was blacked out...car was dead. Only ever thing working was radio, emergency flashers and dome light. Door locks did not even work. Called for roadside assistance and car was towed. I have no further information about the car's disposition as it was a rental. It was terrifying and could have ended catastrophically in serious injury or death. The reason i am filing this report is to insure it will be investigated thoroughly. I did report it to hyundai .
I accelerated my vehicle onto the busy highway after waiting at the stop sign for passing traffic to clear enough. Getting up to efficient speed for the highway, at ~3000rpms, the oil and engine warning lamps flashed and the car jerked while the rpms abruptly dropped below 1500, slowing the car down. Assuming that a sensor initiated ā€œlimp modeā€¯ i carefully drove ~100ft with the emergency flashers on to get to a safe place to pull over, preventing the possibility of an accident on the busy highway. I popped the hood, there was an odor similar to something being burned. Temperature gauge did not indicate engine running hot. Checked the oil- it was almost empty. This vehicle was last serviced with ~70,000 miles in may at hyundaiā€™s service department at the dealership.
Vehicle exhibits sticky steeringand engine has stalled 3 times. Steering is very difficult to control as it sticks severely when trying to steer or maneuver the vehicle on any local road or highway. I was on the highway driving and as i begin to accelerate the car felt as if it was about to stall out. When i came to a stop sign and made a complete stop as i accelerated to drive the car did the same thing as if it wanted to stall out. Now when i'm driving i can't go over 60 mph and any time i come to a complete stop and try to accelerate the car acts as if it wants to stall out so i have to take off slowly then take my foot off the gas pedal and put it back on as if is having trouble getting gas to the engine. I received hyundai's recall notice for recall campaign 198 regarding premature connecting rod bearings. I scheduled a service appointment at first hyundai at 270 e washington st, north attleborough, ma 02760. (508) 699-4700 for april 29th, 2021. My car's engine started making noises on april 24th, 2021. I stopped the vehicle and had it towed to first hyundai (listed above). The dealership took more than 7 days to inspect the vehicle and diagnosed it as connecting rod failure requiring a new engine. I contacted hyundai customer service to arrange for "alternate transportation". Hyundai assigned me a case manager on 5/18/2021, but despite multiple phone calls and messages, i was not able to actually speak to my case manager until 5/25/2021. Hyundai refused to authorize alternate transportation prior to this, and when i spoke to my case manager she would only authorize reimbursements up to $30.00 per day for a hyundai rental vehicle and $20.00 per day for a non-hyundai vehicle. I have been unable to secure alternate transportation from hyundai, as there are no rental vehicles available at the prices hyundai is willing to reimburse me for. It has now been more than 60 days, and my dealer has notified me that there will be further delays, even though they have received all of the necessary parts to repair my vehicle. I have kept extensive notes of the more than 25 phone calls i have made to both hyundai and the first hyundai dealership regarding this issue.at this point, i need assistance forcing hyundai to honor the recall agreement they made.

I have owner this car for 2 years took it into dealership cause i was contacted that the vehicle needed a campaign update car got the update about two weeks later while on highway car went into limp mode speed dropped from 60 to 30 miles an hour check engine light came on and started flashingtook it back to dealer they did another update took car about month later while on highway check engine light came on again they did another update on car picked it up drove it another month light came on again took it back to dealer the did another update and changed wiring harness picked car up again driving on the street about 30 miles an hour check engine light on again took it to dealer they said they did a lower bearing test which sent results to hyundai america corporate office and did another update on car lower bearing test came back good came to pick car up on my way home from dealership on highway again it goes into limp mode speed drop from 60 to 30 check engine light flashing again take it back to dealership the advisor tells me tech read the codes turned off light but had it running and check engine light keeps coming on i was told tech was waiting on engineers to contact him to see what next step he should take mind you they now have had my car for almost 3 weeks by this time i reached out to customer relations to escalate case tech said a duplicate code came up on car p1326 i was told that part was replaced which would be the second wiring harness after at least 5 updates to car tech test drove car he said no lights and no metal was found /lf wiring install/noise insp also says something about wiring harness-knock sensor picked car up on 4/27 dropped off on 4/07 since picking car up seems to drive worser than it did before dropping it off the rpm gage seems to struggle to move when accerating it not happy or satisfied with work done scared to have my family incar
At about 75,000 miles my 2016 sonata limited 2.4l started needing oil added between regular oil changes (all mileage and maintenance by one driver).the vehicle is now 85,000 miles and i am adding 2 qts.there are no leaks from the engine so it must be burning through the exhaust, which can't be good for the emissions system and any future smog check - or the environment.the dashboard warning lights do not come on when the oil is low.this could result in catastrophic engine failure.the vehicle also experiences engine knocking and hesitating when accelerating from 30mph.this has been a safety issue when merging onto the highway, which is almost all of my driving.

After a stop at a traffic light i attempted to accelerate and the engine stalled out. Attempted to restart and on the second attempt it started and as i accelerated it stated to buck as the transmission made sounds while the gears were struggled to change. Vehicle fails to accelerate or acts as if it is going to shut off and just recently i got in vehicle started it and the check engine light came on. Vehicle shut off while starting it finally it started up i took it to auto zone to read the code. They advised me the code p200a is very common among hyundai and it most like is the vcma that needs replacement. After doing further research there are many complaints about the vcma failing and having to be replaced. My warranty is up on my vehicle and i feel this is something that hyundai needs to address as soon as possible given this is a common issue and could cause harm to driver or others while driving that vehicle. Also when attempting to accelerate and the vehicle fails to do so there is a rattling noise when pressing the gas petal.

My car started knocking as i drove andknowing an oil change was needed soon, i went to get an oil changeand was told there was barely any oil left. Performed the oil change and on the drive home on the highway my was still knocking then lost power as i drove. My car was incredibly loud, jerking as it drove, and wouldn't pass 30 mph. I was able to bring it back home though. Next day had the same guys check the car and they told me the head gasket blew. They also attempted another oil change but they said the damage was done and my car was not drivable. Insurance and the people i purchased the car from could not help stating it was normal wear and tear. I've only h0ad the car for about a year though.

Every time i release the brake pedal after sitting at a long red light the car shakes and shudders, sometimes really hard, and sounds like it's choking for a few moments before i am able to accelerate. It sounds and feels and acts as though it is going to stall but it has not yet. The effect does *not* happen when the air conditioner or the vent are being used; only when those are off. It varies from mild to really strong.it took multiple trips to the dealer for them to determine that it is normal not just for my car but for all 2016 sonatas. It is a feature where the transmission shifts into neutral at long stops then re-engages in drive when the foot is lifted from the brake pedal. The purpose is said to reduce engine load.i think this is a safety concern is because when a driver removes their foot from the brake and the car's brake lights go off, it is a signal to the car behind them that they are about to go. But the wait time required for the shaking and sputtering to stop before the gas pedal will work results in 'mixed messages' to the driver behind, thinking that you are ready to move forward but you're not really ready yet, and may result in a rear-end collision. *detailed time line attached *official communication from corporate attached.
To who reads this, thank you first and foremost to take the time to read this. This is a real person, this is my real story. I have been noticing a knocking engine noise for 5 to 6 weeks and then got the nhtsa recall number20v746000 in the mail. I set the soonest appointment with the dealership. The day of the appointment i was advised by andy that it would take 3 to 4 weeks for them to look at my vehicle and run it through hyundai's recommended diagnosis. Later i called the hyundai campaign hotline and open case # 18081104. I was told to wait 3 to 5 days for a national representative to get back with me. I called two days later requesting an update and shortly later the dealership called me to inform me my car was ready. Andy said it cleared inspection and i asked if it passed all their tests, i was told yes. This was the same staff member that told me a few steps days prior 3 to 4 weeks. While i was waiting for my vehicle to be brought to me, i overheard the another hyundai rep saying same story told to me about the length of time to diagnosis.got the diagnosis (repair) details back to find their inspection concluded taking the vehicle for a 7 mile test drive in the city to observe odd knocking noises. Nothing remotely advised from the manufacturer to dealership.i have their report attached but have no clue what to do at this point. I called back hyundai campaign hotline again after getting my vehicle back today. I am told i have the same case no. And to wait another 3 to 5 days for another representative to contact me.

I read that there is a recall according to reuters fri dec 4th on 2016 hyundai sonata hybrids....my vehicle starts shaking when i start going 60-65 mph...it is fine till it hits this speed....i did have new tires placed and i took it back for them to rebalance and they assured me it was fixed but car and steering wheel still shake at 60+ mph....not sure what problem is but am reporting it based on the recall of the 2016 hybrid models...the shaking is not normal...it has about 45,000 miles on it...thank you
Yesterday evening 14oct2019 vehicle was unable to power up, hybrid system hev warning light went on as well as the check engine light.tried several attempts to get the car going. Finally got it going. Brought it to the dealer for diagnosis 15oct2019.
Nhtsa and the hyundai website says there is an active recall, however when i go schedule with hyundai on their website, it says there is no active recall. Calling dealership didn't help either. I have engine issues that render it unoperable.
My cars engine has completely shut down while driving several times.if i turn the car off and restart it fixed the issue for the time being. The second issue is my steering wheel has locked while i've been driving making it impossible to control the car.

We were driving along at 70 mph and suddenly the engine stalled and electrical gauges all turned off for 15 seconds, meaning all gauges went to the left like when you turn your car off. Dealer said that they found nothing wrong. They said to let them know if it happens again????????????? . I told them that how could we let them know if we are both dead.

This happens when the vehicle is in motion and happens both on the freeway at high speeds, as well as on city streets in low speeds. The only way to get this to stop is try and get to a safe space of the road and turn off the vehicle. It is very scary and dangerous especially in southern california freeway traffic and in mountain passes as you lose the ability to maintain speed in the middle of traffic. This could very easily cause an accident. This has happened to me on 7 different occasions over the past 2 months at random times.

The contact had an oil consumption test performed at daytona hyundai 901 n nova rd, daytona beach, fl 32117 and no issues were found with the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to headquarter hyundai 985, rinehart rd, sanford, fl 32771, where the contact was informed that the previous oil consumption test was performed incorrectly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
The engine fails before 100,000 miles. Got an error code of p1326 (wiring inspection/installation and engine replacement and error code p2600. The car suddenly dropped in mph. Car is sluggish to accelerate and very difficult to go up hill. Little to no power on acceleration. Problem was identified at an independent service center, after inspection, taken to local dealer. Flashing check engine light came on once issue occurred. The engines in the hyundai sonatas are poor at best. Multiple people have needed their engines replaced in a very short time.

When depressing the brake my car is making a clicking noise. Went to the dealer and he said it is normal. Previously it was little but now days it is making loud noise while driving.when we depress the brake and try to change the gear from p to d the gear rod is making same clicking noise. When read forums i heard that it is the problem with the solenoid but the dealer does not want to do because he has to do it for free. When asked the dealer he said that it does not come under warranty. Now the noise is really loud and no one is helping me out.

My car has been in motion at nighttime with the head lights on, while driving at 55 to 75 mph the light is spread up on my sides instead of being directly in front where the focal point is needed the most. I have taken this unit back to dealership several times and still the issue is not resolved, i am told its a problem with the design. I travel mostly on interstates and have 20/20 vision. My previous cars lights did make my path known to me, with this car, i am seeing defused light and it scares me. On a dark or dimly litroad the low beam headlights create a sharp boundary looking through the windshield with headlight illumination on the lower area and darkness on two thirds down from the top of the viewing area.it is as if the windshield has a line horizontally across it two thirds down in the field of view. The line bounces when the car bounces and dark upper portion can not be properly viewed through to see the road ahead. It is a safety issue due to poor visibility.the dealer has said a few times there is no issue and no reported issue. This is a continuous flaw in the car from when we first purchased in nov 2015.
My alarm horn dont work, my overhead light does not shut off properly , doors dont lock back shows opned when closed. Water in back door latch froze and cracked my casing. This all happemed at the same time. Drained my battery and they replaced a box in door. Now battery dies again and it is doing it again. A constant problem since last year. While driving 65mph at 10pm on a the interstate, i heard a pound "thunk" and thought i had a tire issue, so began to steer toward the emergency lane. I quickly realized i had no power to accelerate, no power steering and the dash was blacked out...car was dead. Only ever thing working was radio, emergency flashers and dome light. Door locks did not even work. Called for roadside assistance and car was towed. I have no further information about the car's disposition as it was a rental. It was terrifying and could have ended catastrophically in serious injury or death. The reason i am filing this report is to insure it will be investigated thoroughly. I did report it to hyundai .

Hi,the sonata lim the light issue is not only terrible, but i feel extremely dangerous. We brought in the car this week for this issue and with the service team, determined that it is a problem with the limited's only. The non-limited version, if you look at the light assembly, although it looks the same, the entire bulb is encased in the metal/aluminum. When looking at the sonata limited one, you will notice that the top edge of that same housing is cut off. The dealer ordered another light assembly as they didn't have a limited in their lot, and he just called to tell me it looks identical. I will happily join any movement to get this rectified.ited
On 3 separate occasions while driving between 45 and 60 mph, on a arkansas state hwy and a us hwy both head lights went completely off and then came back on. Twice in oct. 2019 while changing from high beam to low beam, once in nov 2019 head lights went off with out using high beam to low beam. Taking car to dealership on 12/4/19.

Rear brakes are never applied evenly. Every time car brakes it lurches forward between times when it feels like the brakes are engaging. This happens when the vehicle is in motion on both city streets and highway. When going above 45 mph the steering wheel will also shake after brakes are engaged.

2016 sonata with 103,000 mile. Increased oil consumption.regular full synthetic oil changes have been followed. The engine burns out oil well before oil change is due.oil lamp flickers.mechanic states oils is burning up and released through exhaust therefore no leaks detected.2nd issue: p2122 check engine code. Diagnostics reveals pedal acceleration sensor faulty.part was $202.not sure if this is misdiagnosed and related to sluggish engine due to oil consumption.
My right high beam stopped working, i have to add oil to my car every 3 days. Burns more gas going back and forth to work. Going around a fast highway curb, the engine shut down the speed of my car and would not stop dropping down to 45 mph in a 70mph packed highway. Awful experience. Called in the problem to hyundai and they didn't show any care. I had an accident happen and i don't know if the electrical problem could be a result to the accidents. The case has been closed and nothing but a paper from a lawyer about getting $1000 for my car being at high risk. I have the case number available. It's been nearly a year.

I was driving my 2016 hyundai sonata on the interstate at approximately 65 mph, with a semi-truck bearing down on me.as i accelerated so i could pass the car in front of me, and get out of the way of the semi-truck, my car lost all acceleration (at about 4000 rpms) and would not go at all, in fact it started slowing down.i let off the gas, because it wasn't doing any good, and as the rpms went down, to about 2000 rpms, my car slowed down to about 55mph before i could give it gas again and get it back up to the speed of all the other traffic on the interstate. There was no other warnings before this happened. It was a very scary and dangerous situation.luckily, the semi-truck was able to slow down before it hit me.the next day the check engine light came on, so i took it to an auto parts store where it was put on a computer and it came back with the code "p200a", which is the "bank one intake manifold runner controls". The report stated that "this has been seen before on cars like mine, and that the most likely fix was to replace the variable charge motion actuator (vcma)".i googled this issue to see if there was a recall on this part for my car and found quite a few posts and comments of this same thing happening to other people.my car has 93,000 miles on it, but in other reports i saw online, the car only had 11,000 miles on it.this needs to be recalled, it is a safety issue!

Car stopped going into reverse, was told that it needed a new clutch actuator, but new actuator would not work in car so they reprogrammed it and put old one back in car, 500 miles later car is doing same thing again with not working in reverse!

The automatic transmission on the 2016 hyundai sonata hybrid went out on the car oct 31, 2019.my wife was driving the car, when she lost drivability of the car. The car would not go, she was able to park it on a side street. She restarted the car but would not go into gear, the engine was running.the car was towed to the closest dealership, when scanned, indicating of a transmission problem. The car has been at the dealership since oct 31, 2019 with no eta of when a new transmission will be available to repair the car.at this point i can not sale the car because it needs a transmission.hyundai needs to give a date when the transmission will be available.the dealership has no time frame when they will get a transmission from hyundai.
This vehicle is a hybrid with 30,000 miles on it and no previous issues. While driving, it lost all acceleration and an hev warning light illuminated indicating that i must immediately shut down the engine. This happened at a fairly busy intersection and i was able to drift slowly to the side of a road to call a tow. After being "repaired" by the dealer, this same issue happened again. After being "fixed" by the dealer again, this process repeated itself a couple more times and the car is currently at the dealer after needing to be towed for a fourth time. Each of the times that this issue has occurred, it has nearly caused an accident because there is no warning before the car malfunctions. Each of the times it has been fixed so far, they have indicated a faulty generator connector and have tried to repair and replace it to no avail. After this latest "fix" i drove the car over 300 miles before the issue returned. As i said, when this issue occurs, the car randomly loses acceleration without warning and drifts to a stop. The first incident of this failure occurred on january 2nd 2021. After the dealer fixed a connector, the car was returned to me later that week.the second incident of this failure occurred on january 6th. Again the same connector was identified as the cause and was fixed. The third incident of this failure occurred on january 16th. I again got towed, and the dealer supposedly replaced the connector.the fourth incident of this failure occurred on february 21st. I am still waiting for the diagnosis however the failure while driving was the same as the previous occurrences. I didn't feel safe driving the car after the second and third time and now having it happen a fourth time has really got me scared.
Engine is using 3 quarts of oil per 2,000 miles and transmission keeps have shifting problems that they just keep reprogramming it to fix, engine stalls.
When i drive my sonata, sometimes the gears do no switch. I can drive on a flat or inclined surface and it will act up. We've taken our car several times to the dealership for diagnostic testing to see what's going on. Butwhen the car is connected or the serviceman drives the car, the car will switch gears and nothing is found on the diagnostic test. We currently driving a few states over and our car is not switching gears at times, affecting the gas mileage. My husband and i will decelerate until gears switch and then accelerate again.
Car engine will rev up at low speeds (30 miles and under) and get stuck. I have to press the brake and hold it down, put the car in park and hit gas pedal to get it to go into lower gear. I went into the dealer to get an oil change on 3/14/2019. The dealer chose to do a factory recall 50hyz. Soon as i left the dealer my car started stalling on 495 north towards tyson corner in virginia, jerking and lost drivetrain power. I could get to 60mph and the car wouldn't respond after that. I took the car back to the dealer. I was told the software updated bricked my sonata. The dealer told me they will order the part and will come in 3/21/2019 which is today. Only to get a call saying the part is on back order into may. My question is why isn't holding hyundai accountable for this? my car isn't the first one to get this software update so if hyundai knows this software is going to brink peoples car how in the hell are they allowed to keep doing this recall when they have no clue when the part will be available?

Car hesitates on acceleration on an inconsistent basis. The rpms increase quite a bit before the car accelerates.usually at lower speeds or after stopping at a traffic light. Car has dual-clutch transmission that is part of class action suit.

Loss of acceleration between 3-4 rpm.. Hard acceleration..loss of acceleration before shifting between 60-70mp..then slowly accelerates. Major problem if on highway where you must speed up but car not quickly shifting gears and is running too slow.
Driving at highway speeds once the engine is at full operating temperature there is a harsh surge during down shifting at 35 mph ( almost as ifi were down shifting a manual transmission or hitting the brakes) this causes the vehicle to slow much more rapidly than expected causing my head and body to move forward in the car. It is extremely distracting and i am nervous it will cause an accident.

After a stop at a traffic light i attempted to accelerate and the engine stalled out. Attempted to restart and on the second attempt it started and as i accelerated it stated to buck as the transmission made sounds while the gears were struggled to change. As i gave it more gas they slowly recovered over the next mile. Took it in for a check to hyundai on 8/29/18. Checked out ok with no reason.

I received a safety recall (198) from hyundai in dec about a potentially dangerous problem with the connecting rod bearings on my car, yet they still do not have a remedy or an estimated time for a remedy. This is toolong.

Car shakes erratically when trying to accelerate and has no power after hitting accelerator. It struggles to get any power to get going after being stopped at a red light. Gear changes get stuck and i have literally been stuck in middle of intersection while doing a legal u-turn in a busy busy laintersection with my 10yr old in the back seat and the only way to get out of the situation was to turn car off and turn on again which poses a major safety issue for both my daughter and myself. Took car in to service last week and they supposedly fixed issue but one week later here we are with same problem. Service told me it looks like solenoid is going out. Which seems strange for a 2016 car with only 27,000. So if this was the case why not change it before it was sold to me. Also car had prior issues before it was sold to me according to service. I smell recall???? i have no documentation but the dealer has all supporting paperwork.

At about 75,000 miles my 2016 sonata limited 2.4l started needing oil added between regular oil changes (all mileage and maintenance by one driver).the vehicle is now 85,000 miles and i am adding 2 qts.there are no leaks from the engine so it must be burning through the exhaust, which can't be good for the emissions system and any future smog check - or the environment.the dashboard warning lights do not come on when the oil is low.this could result in catastrophic engine failure.the vehicle also experiences engine knocking and hesitating when accelerating from 30mph.this has been a safety issue when merging onto the highway, which is almost all of my driving.
The rear seat belts lock up and hold the occupants tight against the seats. So tight it makes it difficult to release them. Compared to front seats the belts are free until a abrupt stop
The drivers side seatbelt doesn't retract on it's own/spring is too weak, you have to feed it back in which is a pain. Most importantly it presents a safety hazard if your car gets trapped underwater or it's on fire, the very long & basically loose belt could tangle you up leaving you trapped in the vehicle to die a slow death. Ofcourse if there is a fire you do stand a chance the fire will burn through the belt before you're completely dead.

My son got trapped in the rear right passenger seatbelt while in parking and it got so tight as it was retracting back. We didn't understand the seriousness of the issue and saw him pulling it hard. The moment we saw him crying i had to cut the seat belt immediately as it became so tight around his tummy.
Safety issue: on sunday, dec 4, 2016 at 4:45pm while driving on expressway in chicago, illinois, i -55 south, near kedzie, our 5yr old child, who was in the backseat on passenger side, in her car booster seat reported that the car seat was around her neck.she was in the rear with another child.i, [xxx], unbuckled my seat beat and turned around to find that the car seat was tightened around her neck completely unable to loosen with little room for her to breath.i placed my two fingers, b/t her neck and seatbelt. My husband, pulled to the side of the road.he placed his two fingers between her neck and seat belt.anytime we touched the seat belt it retracted tighter, we had to instruct my daughter to not moved and continued to secure her airway and did not touch the seatbelt. I called 911 and immediately began to flag people on the expressway down to help. We asked if he had scissors or knife to cut the seat belt off.the passerby/motorist in a white ford pick-up, had a sporting knife and on first try could not cut the seatbelt off.on the second try he was able to cut the seat belt off. The seat belt was found to be unbuckled. My daughter said she did not unbuckle the seat belt and didn't know it was doing that. She stated her dress was underneath the bottom of seatbelt.the seat belt was found to be around her neck in the fashion of the cancer ribbon sign.car was new with 4500 miles on it. Car taken back to hyundai dealership, monday, dec 5. 2016, filed complaint with hyundai safety team at 714-965-3316 with rep. [xxx].[xxx].at later date said safety team found nothing and seat work properly. On friday, dec. 16th called maintenance at dealership who said hyundai safety engineer had not seen the car and were waiting to hear back. A screw that connects the driver's seat to the rail and car frame came out on it's own over time. Car has been used in a normal manner. Discovered the issue when getting in and out of the car and the seat started rocking and wobbling. No pieces are broken.
Rear brakes are never applied evenly. Every time car brakes it lurches forward between times when it feels like the brakes are engaging. This happens when the vehicle is in motion on both city streets and highway. When going above 45 mph the steering wheel will also shake after brakes are engaged.

I was driving west on a four-lane road going 40-45 mph, no one in front of me, when suddenly the automatic emergency braking system engaged on its own without any warning, stopping the car immediately and abruptly, enough so it threw articles on my front seat into the floorboard. Antilock brakes engaged at the same time shaking the car to a stop. Thankfully no one was immediately behind me and thankfully i was not on an interstate going 70 mph!took it into the dealership that day, they kept it overnight and they could not find anything wrong.after reading that other 2016 sonatas had done the same thing, i told the dealership i did not feel safe driving the vehicle and did not want it any longer.they referred me to hyundai corporate who denied my claim because testing came up with no defect, and i assume is going to put it right back out on the streets!!i had no choice but to trade it in and get another hyundai, since i would not feel comfortable selling it outright to someone else knowing this had happened.i am very disappointed with corporate for allowing this vehicle to remain on the roads when this is obviously not the first complaint like this in the 2016s.
11/18/2016 - i backed out of my driveway and was slowly accelerating up my rural street when the car suddenly brake hard of its own accord and made a clunking noise.no instrument panel indication was provided as to why this occurred.this was not driver error as my foot was still on the accelerator.i was driving straight ahead - not turning - no other cars were in the vicinity.11/21/16 - while driving, the car drove sluggishly (almost like the parking brake was on).when i pulled into my driveway, i again heard a clunking sound.when i opened my door there was a pronounced burning smell and the rear wheels were too hot to touch.again, there were no instrument panel lights to indicate any issue.the car has been operating normally since these incidents.i have been unable to replicate these issues.this car has had a series of unexplained electrical issues.the cause of the problems described is unknown.my wife and i found these events frightening and a safety issue in a car with less than 5,000 miles and less than 3 months old.
Takata recall. My foots sometimes brushes a fuse box that is mounted above the gas/brake pedals, causing me to lose a split second in going from gas to brake. I only have a size 10.5 shoe.did not have this problem with my 2011 sonata. Much more foot room down there on 2011 model.service dealer said nothing can be done.
As i was driving the car to a vacation resort, the car caught fire and was completely destroyed. Myself, adult son, and wife were in the car at the time. We were luckly to get out of the car before it blew up and killed us all. The car was melted down and completed destroyed. This event happened on may 2, 2021 near pooler, ga. The only warning sign was smoke, then flames. We lost engine, brakes and control. We hit a light pole to stop the car. Police reports and fire department reports were filed.
Driving to airport in car. Just pulled in to freeway after stopping at store 45 mins into drive. My 3016 sonata hybrid limited started making a knocking sound. So one person (there were 2 adults and a child) would have to wait in middle of nowhere while other 2 went the hour back home with tow truck and then came the hour back. There wasn't a gas station or anything around. The car is in shop waiting to see what warranty says about it needing a new engine. All maintenance was done and was in hyundai shop 5 weeks prior with abs unit needing replaced. There was no warning light or engine light that alerted us to a possible issue.

Air bag i was in and out of consciousness from smoke inhalation i became dehydrated throwing up trapped from the airbag that is pasted against the driver side door. The airbag when it explode becomes a death trapped!!!instead of saving peoples life the plastic material manufacture the air bag is aplastic material it sticks tightly against the door if you do not have any strength to try to peel off or pull the airbag off the door you become trapped... If the crash does not kill you thesmoke inhalation and being trapped by the airbagwill!when airbag it explodes the plastic compartment becomes a jagger knife the airbag releases extreme smoke after air bag explodes i was taken to emergency room i was given a technic shot behind airbag and plastic explode. When i got out the emergency room three days later i went to the tow place to take a look at the car and took video pictures and took pictures of the airbag jagged plasticthat caused my injury.. While the vehicle is in motion and when i hit the brake. A click noise is always coming when we hit the brake till the end. Always happening observing from past 2 months.the other problem is when we hit the brake and and hold the shift knob it is making tick tick noise. Always happenswhen i showed to the mechanic they are saying it is normal because they have to do it for free of charge. Hyundai gives warranty but the dealers neglect to do.i am getting a mileage of average 10 miles if i even maintain a speed of 45-50 mph. If i put 14 gallons of gas i get hardly 225 miles and i have no problems with the car and i change the oil before the service interval.
When depressing the brake my car is making a clicking noise. Went to the dealer and he said it is normal. Previously it was little but now days it is making loud noise while driving.when we depress the brake and try to change the gear from p to d the gear rod is making same clicking noise. When read forums i heard that it is the problem with the solenoid but the dealer does not want to do because he has to do it for free. When asked the dealer he said that it does not come under warranty. Now the noise is really loud and no one is helping me out.

Ii own a 2016 hyundai sonata hybrid with 34,000 miles.i have had no problems with the car until the incident that occurred on aug 5, 2018 while driving on three lane highway 99 north of modesto.at about 70mph the dashboard lite up with brake system warnings.at the same time, the engine shut down. I struggled in traffic to move to the side of the road and got to the apron and found i had no brakes but managed to stop.i turned the ignition off and visually inspected the car, especially the brakes.seeing nothing, after a few minutes, turned it back on.the engine started but the warning lights remained on.i had brakes and slowly drove to an off ramp to get help.after getting off the highway, i stopped and again turned the ignition off.when i turned it back on, all systems were good.i drove over 100 miles home without problems.i immediately took the car to my dealer, alexander hyundai, oxnard ca.after 2 days, they found no faults but in consultation with hyundai support, decided the problem was with the hydraulic braking system and performed the hyundai recommended service.i have serious concerns about the safety of the car based on the service performed.i was not using the brakes at the time of the shutdown and wouldn't expect it to fix itself.i would not expect the problem described to cause an engine shutdown creating a serious safety hazard. I received no assurances that it would not occur again.there should be a limited number of faults that create an immediate shutdown and the fault described should be not be one of them.the dealership claims they have done everything they can and did what hyundai technical support recommended.they provided no evidence their service revealed anything wrong with the brake system.since they have done what the hyundai corporation prescribed, they feel no liability or concern for my safety.
As i was accelerating onto a highway the electronic emergency brake system ( attached to rear wheels of vehicle) without warning activated while vehicle was accelerating at speeds of over 55 mph. Brake system pulsed violently and then wheels completely locked up cause the car torear wheels locked up causing damage to entire rear braking system. Hyundai failed to alert me to this danger and only disclosed it after the vehicle failed. After the vehicle was towed to the hyundai dealership, hyundai now claims to have this notice out- manufacturer campaign id: tff 2016 sonata electric parking brake logic update. Luckily, we maintained control of the vehicle throughout the skid and system failures. We had to throw water on rear wheels/brakes to keep them from catching on fire. Entire rear brake system destroyed...multiple sensor systems failed for this fault condition to occur. According to hyundai manuals, this situation is impossible with their redundant sensors/check sensors, yet it did occur. Hyundai is investigating, however they did not seem too concerned that they put my family in danger with a product they knew was defective, yet they never alerted me to this issue. I have a 2016 hyundai sonata limited with the ultimate package that has forward collision protection which is a wonderful thing if you are about to hit a concrete wall. However if you are flowing with traffic and have to slam on your breaks because the car in front of you does and then they start to go again, the sonata thinks you are coming to a wall and sends you to a complete stop.this causes problems with the traffic behind you.i have almost been rear ended twice.i now disable it because i drive the dc beltway where people constantly slam their brakes.it's a great concept but definitely needs a lot of work before it is safe on our busy roads
Around 10pm i was driving with one passenger straight down a local suburban street.there were no other cars nearby on the road nor were there any pedestrians in the vicinity.abruptly, without any warning, the car gave off a beep and brought itself to an immediate stop in the middle of the road without any interaction from me at all.the road in front of the car was clear and following the stop no warnings were displayed on the dashboard indicating a reason for it or a malfunction in any of the systems. My passenger and i were extremely fortunate that there was not a car coming up behind us because this immediate unintended stop for no reason would very likely have caused an accident.
Rear brakes failed to properly function while the vehicle was in forward motion on a highway. Both rear brakes locked up without operator pressing on brake petal. Both rear brakes and wheel got red hot causing passenger side rear brakes caught on fire. No brake warning lights was activate. This event took place twice, once on 1/27/16 (18 days after purchase) and 2nd time 3/7/16. (30 days after it was allegedly repaired.

The steering wheel locked failed during cold weather.steering wheel lock would not release when trying to turn key, even though i was able to turn the steering wheel while trying to turn key.worried wheel lock could fail while driving.also, i see this car had other recalls which i never received info from hyundai about, i am second owner of vehicle bought from hyundai dealer in northhampton, ma.

On friday night, october 23, 2020, i was driving east on e. Main street in mesa, az headed to the red mountain 202 freeway. The light was green as i approached the intersection and i made a right turn onto the freeway frontage road to head southbound.i was driving approximately 25 mph as my car's steering became rigid and felt like my power steering had gone out. I could barely complete the right turn causing my car to careen into the concrete side barrier causing damage to the front driver's side of the vehicle. Many of the dashboard lights were on with many different alerts as i pulled over with my passenger. We pulled over immediately after the collision to assess the damages and our well being for a few minutes.i then proceeded to drive to my place of work a few miles away and park the car so i could contact the dealership who had worked on my car three days prior. The next morning, october 24, 2020, i called the horne hyundai dealership and left a message at the switchboard for a service manager to call me.i informed her that i had been involved in an accident.on monday morning, october 26, 2020 i drove the car to the dealership to be inspected.on wednesday, october 28, 2020, i was informed by matt colton, service manager from horne hyundai, that it was not their issue and that i 'needed to turn it into my insurance.' as a result, i have not driven my unrepaired car, it is securely parked at my place of employment as to preserve it for inspection.
Vehicle exhibits sticky steeringand engine has stalled 3 times. Steering is very difficult to control as it sticks severely when trying to steer or maneuver the vehicle on any local road or highway. Vehicle has stalled 3x already when coming to a complete stop. Vehicle shakes when brake is released moving from a complete stop.
My cars engine has completely shut down while driving several times.if i turn the car off and restart it fixed the issue for the time being. The second issue is my steering wheel has locked while i've been driving making it impossible to control the car.
While driving i notice that the steering wheel seems to stick slightly so that you have to turn the wheel either left or right slightly then it resumes steering properly for few seconds then it sticks again. It doesn't do it all the time but when it does it makes me think that the steering wheel is getting ready to lock up.i notice this mostly on highways and it really wears you out trying to drive and worrying that the steering might lock up.this happens a lot.
Without clear cause this rental car's power steering stopped working while driving at slow to moderate speeds- the first time we were in a parking lot so able to pull into a safe place after a tow company checked it out and it seemed to have spontaneously resolved we tried to drive it a short distance at slow speeds and the dashboard started to flash on and off and the power steering cut again.
I got the car inspected and balance, but the steering wheel can't be upright, is always to the left side and nobody can fix it yet.

Next day, was told it was a sensor.car drove ok for a couple of days and then happened again, two different times.waited until after christmas to call pohanka but decided to research recalls on this model.dec 30th, stopped to turn left onto street, steering locked up,almost went in ditch crossing over 2 lanes. Cut off engine with key, restarted car, backed up and managed to get off road to keep from being hit by oncoming vehicles.researched to find many complaints with steering since 2017!this is dangerous and wanthyundai accountable.i want to know what the problem is and if it can be fixed or if car needs to be replaced.
I was trying to back into a park and the steering wheel locked up and wouldn't turn. An indicator light with a steering wheel inside of a circle with a ! came on along with traction indicator.

The power steering failed on this vehicle while in drive mode on 3/24/18, 3/27/18. On 3/27/18 while on i495 highway going 35-40 mph the steering will suddenly locked. A tractor trailer had to swerve in order to avoid hitting myself and my children. The vehicle was taken to the hyundai dealership who stated that it is an eps failure .
11/4/19 i had a power steering fail.while driving i lost my power steering, power steering light came on and due to traveling in the slow lane iwas able to get my car in to the emergency lane. The traction control light came on only to indicate i was hitting the emergency groovesoutside the lane.i turned the car off andwhile in process of contacting aaa - i started the car and the power steering light was off and i was able to drive home.i took the car to tarr huyandai the next morning and there were 3 codes present.my steering angle sensor was recalibrated.my concern is what caused the fail and no one seems to have an answer.this situation created a major safety hazard had i been driving in heavy traffic and this occurred and me unable to steer the car in manual mode. I contacted huyandai and apparently this has been a problem with 2016 sonata models but my car was mfg at a plant that wasn't on recall.so at this point - the mfg plant where my vehicle was mfg apparently has the same problem with mine being the first reported.i feel totally unsafe in this car esp traveling on interstates, night time, etc since no one can answer why my power steering quit and reset when i turned the car off.this needs to be addressed before someone is killed. I was traveling on hwy 160 in morristown tn when this occurred- i am also concerned when i told tarr the power steering failed and the traction came on when hit the off road grids they listed traction control lamp was on and did not mention the power steering. That is important to remember with this case .
While driving 65mph at 10pm on a the interstate, i heard a pound "thunk" and thought i had a tire issue, so began to steer toward the emergency lane. I quickly realized i had no power to accelerate, no power steering and the dash was blacked out...car was dead. Only ever thing working was radio, emergency flashers and dome light. Door locks did not even work. Called for roadside assistance and car was towed. I have no further information about the car's disposition as it was a rental. It was terrifying and could have ended catastrophically in serious injury or death. The reason i am filing this report is to insure it will be investigated thoroughly. I did report it to hyundai .
I was driving on the street when i made it to a very busy intersection i proceeded to make a left turn and the power steering went out. I was almost hit by 3 cars trying to get out of the way. Prior to that my wife made the comment that it had happened to her and she had to get help to get out of the middle of the intersection because the steering was to hard for her to turn it alone. This is a very very dangerous issue. I see that there was a recall on the 2010 and 2011 models the problem still persists in later models. They're an great amount of people online that have reported the same issue.
I had to replace the battery within a month of getting the car, then again 6 months later. The radio and back up camera went out after a year of having it. The headlights kept going out, and eventually the wiring started burning. Battery went out again along with the alternator now. Mid drive the lights would cut off, speed thermometer would be off by 15, and almost impossible to turn the wheel.
I purchased this autoin sept 2917 used, a few weeks later my wife was driving on a city street when the electric steering assist failed and a red steering wheel indicator appeared on the dash she managed to drive it home, when i turned the car off and restarted it everything was ok. On 11/12 2017 the same thing happened to me as i was turning onto a side street from a city street i was so surprised i didnt turn fast enough and almost hit 3 teenagers on a sidewalk. I immediately shut the car off and re started it and every thing again was ok.i am afraid there is a malfunction in the control i am sure it will happen again and the result may not be as easily solved.
Panoramic sunroof wind deflector became unbonded from car body stopping the sunroof from closing properly and possibly causing the glass sunroof to dislodge and create a hazard to surrounding traffic at high speeds. Happened while travelling at highway speed. Hyundai dealer claims there is no recall available.
Returned home from travel to find antenna cover was missing. Cover was attached prior to this drive. Cover likely flew off while driving. Was unable to locate. Roughly 15 miles were driven during this trip.
Deer ran in front of my car.air bags inflated and stayed so for quite a while.when i got out of the cari noticed my foot was burnt with skin off and legs wereburning from the powder in air bags.i know the bags should inflat but the smokefrom this kept up for quite a while.i did not think this powder should have kept coming out so much and so did passerby people who stopped to help. We hadthe powder in our eyes.
A screw that connects the driver's seat to the rail and car frame came out on it's own over time. Car has been used in a normal manner. Discovered the issue when getting in and out of the car and the seat started rocking and wobbling. No pieces are broken.
My door handles keep breaking. The end caps of the door handles break easily. This is the second time it has happened. The first time was a month after i purchased it. Of course the dealer replaced it because i was still under warranty. Now the warranty is out the door handle on the passenger side of the door broke. Dealer said 187.50 to fix it. I called hyundai corporate and was just blown off telling me i was out of my warranty. Customer service wasn't even nice about it.

The problem i'm having, is the right side door,the sound of "knocking" like something is defective, or coming lose, the window is working, but each time i close it, to listen the sound is coming from within the door, speakers, or hinges, something is lose, and i'm very concerning about it, this been going on for a while, when the right side window is half way down, i can nearly hear the knocking sound within the door, sometime it sound like, its coming from the rightside dash board,,the vehicle in motion, on a street, or on a highway, you can hear the knocking sound, coming from the right side door, even when the road is kinda rough, you can hear it shake witihin the door.., i don't recall exactly when this started, but it doesn't sound right.

The plastic compartment where the airbags is stored, explode plastic became a jagged knife.it punctured a hole on my legs sliced other part of my legs when air bag explode some of the plastic was released and sliced my legs, air bag releases extreme smoke inside the car all you are inhaling is smoke. Air bag i was in and out of consciousness from smoke inhalation i became dehydrated throwing up trapped from the airbag that is pasted against the driver side door. The airbag when it explode becomes a death trapped!!!instead of saving peoples life the plastic material manufacture the air bag is aplastic material it sticks tightly against the door if you do not have any strength to try to peel off or pull the airbag off the door you become trapped... If the crash does not kill you thesmoke inhalation and being trapped by the airbagwill!when airbag it explodes the plastic compartment becomes a jagger knife the airbag releases extreme smoke after air bag explodes i was taken to emergency room i was given a technic shot behind airbag and plastic explode. When i got out the emergency room three days later i went to the tow place to take a look at the car and took video pictures and took pictures of the airbag jagged plasticthat caused my injury.. May 7, 2021 around 5pm i entered the highway @ dorset rd and i-270 driving south on i-270@ 60mph when the sunroof deflector detached from the vehicle and started to blow in the wind and next i hear the sunroof glass rattling afraid it would fly of and hit a car behind me, i hit the close button for the roof. When i got to my destination i open the roof to see what the problem was, noticing the sunroof deflector is no longer attached to the vehicle, but is made onto the track that moves with the glass panel, i held the deflector down with my hand and tried my best to get the glass panels to close flat. On my drive back home now all i can hear is the glass panels rattling continually, this is a scary feeling being the entire roof of the vehicle is glass and what if the wind blows the panels of and cause someone behind me on the highway to get hurt or if the glass rattling causes it to shatter and break on me while driving this would be a concern also for a traffic accident. Why would a small deflector be attached to the actual track and now this has caused serious concern for the sunroof structure or shall i say the entire roof of the sonata. Never had a sunroof concern with my tiburon sunroof, now rethinking my love for hyundai's. Mileage is just 21 thousand
My trunk wouldn't open. I used the key fob & nothing happened. It was pouring rain and i had groceries i was trying to put in my trunk. I tried the button on the panel still nothing. I put my groceries in the back seat and got out my owners manual. It said in case of the trunk not opening use your key. I did & it opened & now i can't get it shut! i tried w-d40 on the latch & it didn't help. My husband tied it down with a rope. I never had any trouble before & now my trunk is held down with rope. I don't know if it's covered by my warranty but it should be. My vehicle was parked at the grocery store.
Paint coming off the top of the car and i have to change my front light and brake light every month it goes out

I've had issues with the paint. I had a huge chip in the paint and the body shop told me that it was an issue with the factory paint. So now for the 3rd time, i am having to have the paint fixed on the top of my car. Tiny chips in the paint have very quickly turned in to much larger areas. Nothing hit or damaged the area any of the times to my knowledge. The first time was february 2019, touch up in march 2020, and now october 2020.
Paint has started flaking off of vehicle. Dealership acknowledged that this has been a problem but cannot help because the mileage exceeds warranty coverage, though the vehicle is less than 3 years old.
There is a recall on my car for the panoramic sunroof stating that the wind deflector can detach and cause the glass panel to fall off. I have had this recall fixed 3 times already and it just happened for a 4th time. All 4 times it happened as i was driving on the highway. Luckily i was able to catch the wind deflector before if knocked the glass panel off and caused an accident. Because of this issue and hyundai's lack of ability to fix it, i do not believe my car is safe nor do i feel safe driving it. Having this happen for the fourth time is unacceptable.

Onoctober 26th my husband was driving myself and our 2 children when all of a sudden we went from going 45 miles an hour to stopping and then even after the gas pedal was pushed all the way to the floor we we were going approx 5 miles am hour. Our engine light came on and aftet approx 5 to 10 min we found a place to pull over as there were no pulloffs readily available. Aftet we pulled off the road we shut the car off for a few minutes and restarted the car and were able to make it home . The engine ligjt was still on but power and speed were restored. We called our hyundai dealer on fri morning and they said to bring it down on monday. The car sat all weekend and was not driven due ro fear of it happening again. I did however start the car on friday and engine light was still on. We brought the car down mon at 9am. The engine light was now off but the hyundai mechanic said even if the light was off a code would still be in the system. We received a call around 3pm saying they could not find anything wrongbut even they did not under why no code at all showed up. They are keeping the car until friday to keep starying and driving it to see if something happens. Mu husband did report the issue to hyundai and they said they will investigate. If this were to happen again with someone driving behind us it could be a very serious accident. Very nervous and scared something can happen especially driving my yound children around.
Safety issue: on sunday, dec 4, 2016 at 4:45pm while driving on expressway in chicago, illinois, i -55 south, near kedzie, our 5yr old child, who was in the backseat on passenger side, in her car booster seat reported that the car seat was around her neck.she was in the rear with another child.i, [xxx], unbuckled my seat beat and turned around to find that the car seat was tightened around her neck completely unable to loosen with little room for her to breath.i placed my two fingers, b/t her neck and seatbelt. My husband, pulled to the side of the road.he placed his two fingers between her neck and seat belt.anytime we touched the seat belt it retracted tighter, we had to instruct my daughter to not moved and continued to secure her airway and did not touch the seatbelt. I called 911 and immediately began to flag people on the expressway down to help. We asked if he had scissors or knife to cut the seat belt off.the passerby/motorist in a white ford pick-up, had a sporting knife and on first try could not cut the seatbelt off.on the second try he was able to cut the seat belt off. The seat belt was found to be unbuckled. My daughter said she did not unbuckle the seat belt and didn't know it was doing that. She stated her dress was underneath the bottom of seatbelt.the seat belt was found to be around her neck in the fashion of the cancer ribbon sign.car was new with 4500 miles on it. Car taken back to hyundai dealership, monday, dec 5. 2016, filed complaint with hyundai safety team at 714-965-3316 with rep. [xxx].[xxx].at later date said safety team found nothing and seat work properly. On friday, dec. 16th called maintenance at dealership who said hyundai safety engineer had not seen the car and were waiting to hear back. The check engine light came on with slight hesitation and reduced power during acceleration. Car was on highway with in ten minutes from home from my research indicate this care issue could be caused from hyundai sonata software issue.
As i was driving the car to a vacation resort, the car caught fire and was completely destroyed. Myself, adult son, and wife were in the car at the time. We were luckly to get out of the car before it blew up and killed us all. The car was melted down and completed destroyed. This event happened on may 2, 2021 near pooler, ga. The only warning sign was smoke, then flames. We lost engine, brakes and control. We hit a light pole to stop the car. Police reports and fire department reports were filed.
Sunroof recall. I gave had a total of three issues with the sunroof of my vehicle. While driving this last time on the highway the wind net popped up and my entire sunroof flew off of my car. The first time the wind net flew up (feb 2017), second time the wind net blew up again (may 2017) and finally 4th of july weekend the wind net blew up and took the entire sunroof with it all while driving. My car just turned 1 yr old on may 2017.
When driving sometimes the bsd system turn off without any advance warning, this could cause accidents, the blind spot collision warning hyundaineed to be reviewed well and address the issue. Many people complain about this.
Tpms indicators continue to say there is an issue and the tire and tire pressure but the car shows the correct tire pressure and there is no damage to the tires.
The anchor that holds the sunroof deflector in place separated where it was bonded and gets in the way when the sunroof tries to close. The deflector partially detached in the front, and interferes with the glass of the sunroof when closing.this happened while driving down the highway.i had to pull over to the side of the road and stand outside the vehicle while another person closed the sunroof. We needed two people to get the sunroof closed.
Vehicle begins to sputter while driving, resulting in engine shutting down. Check engine light turns on. Has happened multiple times while driving on both residential streets and highways. While i was entering the freeway trying to merge in the traffic using left signal and depending on my car lane change assistance that failed to detect the car on my left blindzone, forced me to turn away from the car to the right side caused body damage to my car passenger side due to the street guard rails.the lane change assistance failed to detect cars many times, i will take the car to the dealer.

While the vehicle is in motion and when i hit the brake. A click noise is always coming when we hit the brake till the end. Always happening observing from past 2 months.the other problem is when we hit the brake and and hold the shift knob it is making tick tick noise. Always happenswhen i showed to the mechanic they are saying it is normal because they have to do it for free of charge. Hyundai gives warranty but the dealers neglect to do.i am getting a mileage of average 10 miles if i even maintain a speed of 45-50 mph. If i put 14 gallons of gas i get hardly 225 miles and i have no problems with the car and i change the oil before the service interval.
Numerous posts and this has occurred to me numerous times within the past 2 months. After driving vehicle on the freeway, and getting off to get gas or stop to get groceries or anything, when the vehicle is turned off, check hybrid system light comes on and vehicle is disabled. Will not start or attempt to start for at least 20 minutes. When vehicle starts back up the check engine light comes on and stays on until the vehicle is turned off again then the cel goes away. Sounds like numerous people are having this issue, i however have been lucky that it hasn't shut off while driving on the freeway, sounds like many other people it has. There needs to be a recall or the car be labeled as lemon or something.

My car was broken into on 3/3/2019, not only did my alarm not go off when the window was smashed when i set my alarm on the car and opened the door from the inside the car did not go off. The police officer stated that this is a hazard especially on a newer model vehicle. The police officer even tested out the alarm while they were here and it did not go off. I dont understand and i would like for this issue to be fix.

Car was in motion at about 75mph on the highway when it jerked really hard then lost all power, making it a very unsafe situation for not only my family but also other drivers. The lights on the dashboard went all crazy and it hasn't started since that happened, car was towed to a dealership where they are stating it's a recall on the ecm.

Yes i was driving on the expressway i saw smoke coming from my vents. I made it to the nearest neighborhood by my home stopped for it to cool down for 10 minutes i start my car back up & it was perfectly fine by time i made it to a stop sign it caught on fire while i was in the car. The fire department told me it was due to an electric/engine problem & nothing was my fault. I don't have insurance to cover it. The next morning i found out on the internet that all hyundai's and kias have a re call on cars due to engine fire risk. I was really devastated when i found out that my car has been on re call not once or twice but three times. By law, iam authorize to get a car or a check of how much the car is worth. I talked to hyundai motor america headquarters mrs.gretchen told me that they notify me at the address that the car was registered in & not my current address and also she stated it's my fault. Which i don't understand how when nobody called text or email me personally just to see if i made it to my re call appointment in january. Not only i had another one in march i didn't know about as well then they have another re call i just found out about in june hyundai better and has to do something now i could of lost my life & i lost everything i had my phone fedex equipment important paperwork etc. Fyi insurance has nothing to do with a re call car. By law i suppose to get something for that
Engine is making weird rattling sound on acceleration and burning oil too much. Prior to 3000 miles oil change, checked dip stick and indicated no oil. Low oil on dashboard did not came on. Believed that the engine consumption is out of limit. Rough idle and acceleration hesitation was notice.
My 2016 hyundai sonata misfire sometimes at starting. Here is a little description. Today june 28 2016 i started my vehicle and noticed it was running a little harder making an unusual sound as i engaged the reverse the vehicle started rolling back slowly and checking like it was going to stall and stop. It all sounds like the vehicle has misfired and is running rough. I immediately stopped the engine and started one more time and this time the vehicle started immediately. This same issue has happened about a month ago as i was living the library.

Loss of acceleration between 3-4 rpm.. Hard acceleration..loss of acceleration before shifting between 60-70mp..then slowly accelerates. Major problem if on highway where you must speed up but car not quickly shifting gears and is running too slow.

I have owner this car for 2 years took it into dealership cause i was contacted that the vehicle needed a campaign update car got the update about two weeks later while on highway car went into limp mode speed dropped from 60 to 30 miles an hour check engine light came on and started flashingtook it back to dealer they did another update took car about month later while on highway check engine light came on again they did another update on car picked it up drove it another month light came on again took it back to dealer the did another update and changed wiring harness picked car up again driving on the street about 30 miles an hour check engine light on again took it to dealer they said they did a lower bearing test which sent results to hyundai america corporate office and did another update on car lower bearing test came back good came to pick car up on my way home from dealership on highway again it goes into limp mode speed drop from 60 to 30 check engine light flashing again take it back to dealership the advisor tells me tech read the codes turned off light but had it running and check engine light keeps coming on i was told tech was waiting on engineers to contact him to see what next step he should take mind you they now have had my car for almost 3 weeks by this time i reached out to customer relations to escalate case tech said a duplicate code came up on car p1326 i was told that part was replaced which would be the second wiring harness after at least 5 updates to car tech test drove car he said no lights and no metal was found /lf wiring install/noise insp also says something about wiring harness-knock sensor picked car up on 4/27 dropped off on 4/07 since picking car up seems to drive worser than it did before dropping it off the rpm gage seems to struggle to move when accerating it not happy or satisfied with work done scared to have my family incar
I went into the dealer to get an oil change on 3/14/2019. The dealer chose to do a factory recall 50hyz. Soon as i left the dealer my car started stalling on 495 north towards tyson corner in virginia, jerking and lost drivetrain power. I could get to 60mph and the car wouldn't respond after that. I took the car back to the dealer. I was told the software updated bricked my sonata. The dealer told me they will order the part and will come in 3/21/2019 which is today. Only to get a call saying the part is on back order into may. My question is why isn't holding hyundai accountable for this? my car isn't the first one to get this software update so if hyundai knows this software is going to brink peoples car how in the hell are they allowed to keep doing this recall when they have no clue when the part will be available?

Lamentably, i did not know hyundai excludes aeb from hybrid ltd ultras. As the video shows, frantic beeping from the forward collision warning system was not accompanied by any braking at all. I slammed on them too late.i was in dcc mode when the warning sounded. Dcc can gradually slow from freeway speed to a stop and resume, but fcw apparently cancels dcc's braking! this must be no more than a difference in software between gas-only and hybrid ltd ultras because all sensing and control hardware are identical.hyundai's response to my inquiries are just repetitious confirmations of what i already discovered the hard and expensive way.

My right high beam stopped working, i have to add oil to my car every 3 days. Burns more gas going back and forth to work. Going around a fast highway curb, the engine shut down the speed of my car and would not stop dropping down to 45 mph in a 70mph packed highway. Awful experience. Called in the problem to hyundai and they didn't show any care. I had an accident happen and i don't know if the electrical problem could be a result to the accidents. The case has been closed and nothing but a paper from a lawyer about getting $1000 for my car being at high risk. I have the case number available. It's been nearly a year.
As i am riding along at a steady rate, all of a sudden the car will slow down.sometimes it slows 5-10 mph and starts to accelerate. At other times, it will slow to a complete stop.before going on vacation, i took it to pantili hyundai in princeton, wv and they did a computer update and told me it was fine.i drove to memphis, tennessee and it started doing it again.on my way home, we stopped in chattanooga for lunch. When crossing a busy intersection, it nearly stopped.a gas truck was approaching as we barely made it across to our side of the highway.fortunately, there was shoulder room to move to until it decided to go again.
Car shakes erratically when trying to accelerate and has no power after hitting accelerator. It struggles to get any power to get going after being stopped at a red light. Gear changes get stuck and i have literally been stuck in middle of intersection while doing a legal u-turn in a busy busy laintersection with my 10yr old in the back seat and the only way to get out of the situation was to turn car off and turn on again which poses a major safety issue for both my daughter and myself. Took car in to service last week and they supposedly fixed issue but one week later here we are with same problem. Service told me it looks like solenoid is going out. Which seems strange for a 2016 car with only 27,000. So if this was the case why not change it before it was sold to me. Also car had prior issues before it was sold to me according to service. I smell recall???? i have no documentation but the dealer has all supporting paperwork.

Ecm issues.car had ecm problem and lost power. Went into the dealer, and they said they repaired it. Didn't even make it home from the dealer and it happened again. Back to dealer and they said again it was repaired. Car had 10,000 miles on it at the time. Less than 3,000 miles later, it happened again - car completely shut off on the highway. Complete loss of power. Dealer claimed it was the same problem and "fixed" it with a software update. Now scared to drive it - considering lemon law? three problems in 6 months on a brand new car, and same problem every single time.
Vehicle fails to accelerate or acts as if it is going to shut off and just recently i got in vehicle started it and the check engine light came on. Vehicle shut off while starting it finally it started up i took it to auto zone to read the code. They advised me the code p200a is very common among hyundai and it most like is the vcma that needs replacement. After doing further research there are many complaints about the vcma failing and having to be replaced. My warranty is up on my vehicle and i feel this is something that hyundai needs to address as soon as possible given this is a common issue and could cause harm to driver or others while driving that vehicle. I was on the highway driving and as i begin to accelerate the car felt as if it was about to stall out. When i came to a stop sign and made a complete stop as i accelerated to drive the car did the same thing as if it wanted to stall out. Now when i'm driving i can't go over 60 mph and any time i come to a complete stop and try to accelerate the car acts as if it wants to stall out so i have to take off slowly then take my foot off the gas pedal and put it back on as if is having trouble getting gas to the engine. I took it to my mechanic and it read code p 1326. Now my car is in safety mode
Hello i purchased a 2016 hyundai sonata 4/8/2020 with 110,743 miles on it with now 116,000. About a month ago my check engine light came on with no symptoms to the naked eye . Maybe a week later i could feel the difference in the speed control the air intake seemed very sluggish it won't take off from the line it will drag before it decides to pick up speed . Now the issue is that this is a common problem with these specific cars with no recall on them. This is an expensive fix that i should not be responsible for. Code p200 intake manifold .. I had to replace the battery within a month of getting the car, then again 6 months later. The radio and back up camera went out after a year of having it. The headlights kept going out, and eventually the wiring started burning. Battery went out again along with the alternator now. Mid drive the lights would cut off, speed thermometer would be off by 15, and almost impossible to turn the wheel.
The mirror passenger side, just brake by itself... Like exploted.it came out of the protector,hit the glass and broke in pieces, without even touch it.
The operable portion of the panoramic sunroof exploded while driving on the freeway in the morning with the sunroof and shade closed.about 30% of the glass failed leaving a hole.the remaining portion is filled with fine cracks.the sunroof appears bowed upwards now.
The contact owns a 2016 hyundai sonata. While driving 65 mph, the contact stated that the rearview mirrors faced the white lines on the highway. The mirrors could be readjusted, but they changed intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 4,955.
Tpms indicators continue to say there is an issue and the tire and tire pressure but the car shows the correct tire pressure and there is no damage to the tires.
