My wife has had a bad back for many years and requires a cushion to ease the back pain while riding in the passenger seat. By doing that the air bag on the passenger sit will not activate. This has created a real problem for people with a disability. I've reached out to hyundai to have the passenger air bag active continuously but they have refused. I'm not asking them to turn it off, i'm asking them to turn it on so we can be more secure in the vehicle. We have tried many different pillows, cushions and back supports to no avail. Riding with the air bag inoperable is not an option, research on the internet shows thousands of complaints with the same problem. Hyundai's answer is buckle up tight and sit back away from the dash. This is not an answer to a problem that can effect millions of disabled people spending many thousands of dollars on new cars that want to feel safe. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you.
It's a rental car. It was a snow day and hit on the concrete wall but the airbag didn't deploy. Compared to the damage to the car, it is a safety concerns.

We were sitting at red light in a busy intersection at night and the vehicle started hesitating and cut off. We tried pressing the automatic start and itkept hesitating and everything went black on the instrument panel.after 3rd time it started and we were able to get home. It started having more hesitation while to go up hills and low speeds. The automatic start /stop also stopped working in the vehicle. I also was having trouble with the blue link system, they were having to reset it each month until they decided to make a ticket for repair in which took a month or so in order for the engineers to see if it was default on there end. Then they decided to set me up for a appointment to have it looked at through hyundai, which now they saw i have to have whole new head radio head unitwith blue link and also a new transmission. Purchased brand new and it haslow mileage and need transmission. I'm loosing faith in hyundai!
On march 5, this vehicle stopped while driving in the middle of a street.i was unable to start the vehicle andme and my passenger could have been seriously injured or killed.car was towed to dealership and has 2600 miles on it.i have found that hyundai is doing a recall to replace starter and a software update.i have been told that because of the new technology this vehicle has which is an automatic start and stop at a stop sign or stop light that the startershorted outand apparently the software in the car just stops the car while driving..this happened while driving the car at 35 miles/hour on a busy street.it is a miracle that i was not hit and injured or killed.car is at the dealership waiting for a new starter and software update with a possible ship date of march 31, 2019. These 2019 santa fe are not safe to be selling to the public with this known defect.
The contact owns a 2019 hyundai santa fe. The contact stated that the vehicle's smart system caused the vehicle to brake on its own. Also, the lane change was not reading correctly and pushed the vehicle into the wrong lane into a barrier. In addition, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to slow down when making a right turn. After completing the turn, the contact was able to brake. The vehicle was taken to fitzgerald hyundai rockville (11411 rockville pike, rockville, md 20852, (301) 881-4000) twice where it was diagnosed that the system was not calibrating properly and the easy pass interfered with the smart system. The easy pass was moved away from the camera, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 16086926. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000. The vin was not available.
Stopped the car at a red light and the idle stop and go (isg) feature has turned off the engine... Once the green light turned on, i pressed gas and the engine did not start and after couple of attempts all warning lights turned on and i was not able to use the key to start the engine aswell. And so i had to turn off the key completely and then start the engine... Bought the certified pre-owned car at 38000 miles in feb 2020 and this happened only once in august 2020 and the mileage was about 39800 during that time. Luckily i had only one car at my back who honked on me continuously...i was not able to reproduce the issue afterwards but to be honest i kept only about 50 miles since then.i am afraid if i would get stalled one fine day... And also afraid hyundai service center would just say not reproducible and may just say to turn off the feature may be?
After driving my sante fe for little over 1000 miles, i was waiting behind several vehicles at a stop light in hyattsville and my vehicle shut off and wouldn't start. After trying to restart the vehicle for more than 15 minutes, it finally started. I drove to the next stop light and had to stop and the vehicle failed to restart. This happen two more times and then finally it started and i drove back to the dealership in gaithersburg (fitzgerald auto mall). I reported the incident and they claim to be unable to recapitulate the incidence. At around 5014 miles, when i came to a stop light in dc, the vehicle shut off again and would restart. The cops came and push me out of the road and i was then able to restart. I drove to the next stop light and the vehicle shut off again and would start. Eventually, the vehicle started after approximately 10 minutes. I drove the vehicle back to the dealer and was told that there was a performance recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was service and given back to me. The following day driving on germantown road the vehicle shut off again at a stop light. I call the dealer and they asked that i take it back the next day. On my way to the dealer in bumper to bumper traffic the vehicle shut off again. I took back the vehicle to the dealer and told them that i have no confidence in the vehicle anymore and they should replace it. The matter was reported to the manufacturer who refuse to replace the vehicle and offer $500 compensation for my inconvenience which i refuse to accept.i am seeking your assistance to this issue.p.s. I do have picture of the information that was displayed on the dashboard at the time of the incidence and my niece was with me on two of those occasions.
On a brand new 2019 hyundai santa fe, the engine stalled twice while driving the vehicle at low speeds into/out of a parallel parking space on a village street.i had to restart the engine in order to continue maneuvering the vehicle.this was very dangerous as i could have been hit by oncoming traffic.
The blue link remote start often does not respond. This is very difficult to get fixed. The dealer does not have access to this system. Hyundai does not have a contact number that is easy to locate. When you do call they are difficult to talk with and often just hang up on you. This has been an ongoing struggle for several months. It is almost impossible to reach someone to talk too about this. They have recently sent an e mail telling me that that i must accept changes in my blue link (they are going to share data from that with other companies). You do not have an option to decline. They give you an option to agree or they note that continued use of blue link gives consent. I do not give my consent. Blue link is not dependable and as a result data from that system is likely to inaccurate. I own three hyundai's and buying the 2019 was a mistake. The blue link system is a mess. The sell you the system it works on your phone, works from anywhere no distance limitations ect. But after you buy it they point out that you cant complain because its a complementary service. This only comes out after you buy the car. They never talk about it before the purchase. After owning hyundai's for several years (3 of them) i am beyond disappointed they the customer service is so poor. Whats worse is that when you complain they can't find a number to contact where you can get hyundai america to even listen to the problem.
I have had issues with this vehicle since very shortly after purchase in june 2019. I have been without my vehicle three times due to service/warranty related issues - twice in a rental, and now the third time i am using a friend's vehicle. My complaints began with a "hard start" and a delayed turnover of the engine. The vehicle behaves as though it wants to stall out. Hyundai told me for months that they couldn't recreate the problem to fix it even though it happened 2-3 times minimum per week. Then the other things started going wrong...here is a short list for you over multiple visits and phone calls to the dealership:-hard start - vehicle jerks forward upon engine start-delayed turnover - feels like it is going to stall-vehicle engine ticking upon start-most recently, vehicle engine loudly knocking upon start-vehicle auto collision sensors malfunctioned and almost caused an accident on a busy 4 lane highway by causing my brakes to slam to an almost stop because the car in a lane next to me was turning (i was going 60mph at the time with no risk of collision).-apple car play malfunctions - sounds like wires are crossed (using apple charger and generic charger)-rear view camera stays on for 10-15 minutes at a time to the point that i have to turn off and restart the vehicle-while going 25-40 mph, at times, the vehicle will create a noticeable front end jerking motion-while the flight recorder was in me vehicle, it went off on an emergency alarm for over 3 hours and hyundai's service team couldn't determine a problem-the gas cap door will not open or close properly-vehicle, on 5 occassions, would not respond to depression of gas pedalthere are other smaller issues that i have expressed my concern over, and i no longer feel safe in this vehicle with my two small children have now been without vehicle for 30+ cumulative days
My new 2019 hyundai sante fe from the time i bought it had the yellow check engine light come on. It said the bsm system wasn't working. Then the engine would not start on 4 separate occasions. I had to wait to get it to start. There have been 3 occasions when it did start it sounded like it was going die, very sluggish and didn't want to accelerate. The rpm would not increase. It also started 2 separate occasions it lost steering wheel power and the a/c stopped blowing cold air. I had to turn it off and wait to restart it. It is currently at the dealership waiting for the blind spot monitoring modules. The first time they replaced the module it still showed it not working. So now it is undrivable at gene messer hyundai in lubbock texas, they say it's not safe to drive so i am driving a loaner. They say they can't determine why the engine did the described things above. These things happened while in motion and parked.

At highway speed the computer has attempted to pull the car out of the lane into the adjoining lane as if in attempt to avoid something. This is happened at highway speed's about six times. Vehicle also at one time applied the emergency brake as the vehicle is approaching an intersection as an emergency stop. The car would not move for several seconds. When i brought the vehicle into the hyundai dealership the representative immediately suggested that there was a rodent problem. This was confirmed not to be the case.as there did not appear to be any other computer messaging the technician suggested that maybe it was the california fastrack responder unit. They suggested it be relocated which i did. The problem lies that you're not sure that this is what caused the problem and thesuggestion 'to drive it to see if it repeated' as it does not sound prudent from a safety perspective. The computer pulls at a hard level which makes it difficult to maintain the vehicle in the lane and it suddenly releases the pulling which jerks the car back into the driving lane much like an over correction. This is obviously quite dangerous and i would suggest something else is done to either confirm or disapprove the responder issue as these responders are common and it was placed per the instructions of the fastrack.
Several occasions the safety features of this 2019 hyundai santa fe deactivates. 3+ occasions the vehicles frontal collision avoidance, lane keep assist blind spot detection automatic high beam lights as well as cross traffic alert suddenly will cut off. Have taken vehicle back to dealership where purchased to be told no codes are being stored. Contacted hyundai usa several times to get a run around or the response if its not recording there is nothing wrong with the car. I have owned a 4 hyundai santa fe's and never had the issues i am having like i am with this one.i do not take my grandkids in this vehicle as im worried that if these safety features fail to work i dont want to chance their lives in a vehicle that could possibly experience more severe issues or worse. Dealing with hyundai has become a disappointment as the 2004 santa fe i own is by far more dependable than this one .
I have a brand new 2019 santa fe ultimate 2.0t leased in august with 1600 miles and i have already had the car in twice where they have had to recalibrated the transmission. Whenever i was at a stop or waiting to make a turn i would put my foot on the gas pedal and the rpms would go up but the car wouldn't move. I was almost rear ended a couple of times because the car wouldn't go into gear and move with the gas pedal pushed all the way down to the floor and then all of sudden the transmission would shift into gears. This should not be happening to a brand new car! looking at different models this seems to be an on going problem with hyundai. I haven't been able to enjoy my car because it's been in the shop. They fix it and it works for a week or so and then it happens again. Something is definitely wrong! i was told if it happens again then they will call the main headquarters. They should be doing that already to find out how to fix it once and for all so i don't have to keep coming back. I hope you will look into this matter.
The contact owns a 2019 hyundai santa fe. The contact noticed an abnormal burning odor coming from the rear of the vehicle when driving up hill. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 2,700.
The contact owned a 2019 hyundai santa fe. The contact stated while driving at 65 mph, a thick, grayish smoke entered the vehicle cabin from the rear, passenger side without warning. The contact immediately pulled over and requested all occupants to exit the vehicle. As the contact began to call 911, an officer nearby came over to assist the contact. The fire department eventually arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported and both a fire and police reports were filed. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle initially towed to an independent mechanic and once insurance was contacted about the failure, they deemed the vehicle a total loss. The insurance then had the vehicle towed to another independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and initially offered toassist the contact with the purchase of another vehicle. Hyundai then sent out an investigator to inspect the vehicle and their assessment determined that the fire was caused by defective wiring harness attached to the trailer hitch. The manufacturer offered no further assistanceafter the conclusion of the investigation. The vehicle had been destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000. Consumer filed a claimed with u-haul they spoke to hyundai and hyundai blames on wiring hitch because it was installed after purchased.
The contact owns a 2019 hyundai santa fe. While driving 17 mph, the bca braking system engaged, the vehicle lost power, and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on, which returned it back to normal. The vehicle was taken to o'brien hyundai ft myers (2850 colonial blvd, fort myers, fl 33966, (239) 880-8631) where it was test driven for approximately 77 miles; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure andprovided the contact with case number: 16693618 and a loaner vehicle. The contact referenced nhtsa id number: 10167260. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.
Previous hyundai vehicle caught fire. At the time the cause was unknown. Was forced by hyundai to buy back vehicle and purchased a brand new hyundai vehicle. I was never told that this was a brand wide issue and that the new vehicle i purchased would end up under the same recall that caused previous vehicle to catch fire. I am terrified to drive this vehicle. I contacted hyundai to explain the situation and have been dealing with an unprofessional customer representative. I am fearful for my life in this vehicle and explained when i purchased the new one that i did not want to ever go through this situation again.
When sitting at red lights, the engine completleyshuts off.i have to push the push start at least 10 times before the engine will restart. This keeps happening. I'm worried i will get stranded. I would like to leave it with hyundai service, but to my understanding they do not offer rentals. My vehicle only had 16000 miles when this issue began. I paid 38000 for this vehicle and now to my understanding, to have it serviced i will have to pay for the rental.my safely should be more of a concern. Hyundai motor america should be very concerned. They should have requested a tow and offered a rental as soon as i mentioned this issue!!! no, instead i have to leave it at the dealer in hopesthe issue is found quickly, so i don't run up a huge rental bill plus pay my monthly car note. What if my vehicle just shuts down going 65 on the freeway? will i have braking power?i don't know what to do. I could be in major danger.
Stopped vehicle on side of neighborhood road on moderate downward incline.placed vehicle in park and at idle.a few minutes later, shifted car into drive and proceeded to pull out into roadway.vehicle seemed to lose power steering as well as power braking.as the vehicle turned a corner, it lost acceleration (car slowed to a stop as accelerator was pressed) , and tachometer decreased to zero.pulled to side of road as car slowed to a stop. Total distancecar travelled at this point was about 75 feet). Put car in park and turned off engine.waited for a few minutes, restarted engine, placed car in drive and drove home ( about 40 feet).problem: car engine stalled, cause unknown.
I bought santa fe 2019 limited fwd, it has an issue with acceleration, it hesitates around 2000 rpm, it create a big issue when i change lane to overtake or driving to uphill, i have to push acceleration padel really down to keep going. It jerks sometimes. I took two hyundai dealers for check and both said nothing wrong with car, they did not find any code or issue. It is so frustrating sometimes. My 12-year-old pilot has a better ride and performance than 2019 santa fe. This is my first hyundai car and i paid a lot of money . I liked the interior, info system, and external look.looks like to me issue with transmission gear shifting
The car engine completely shuts off while driving multiple times. While driving on highway and the streets the car just stops almost causing an accident. In order to get the car off the road we had to move it physically off the road.
The idle down feature stopped working several months ago. No change in how the engine runs when we get to a stop sign or traffic light.when we called the dealership maybe in february, they said they hadn't seen the problem yet. My wife found an article about the problem and it said that several cars had caught fire or stalled in traffic. Taking it to the dealer on 5/4/2021.the rear power gate also has started malfunctioning. Not sure if they are related as of yet.
This is a report on a 2019 hyundai santa fe 2.0l turbo with less than 1600 miles.there is a significant amount of fuel in the oil. Allowable limits are less than 2.0% from normal causes. This engine has 3.3%, enough to be a problem.the oil level is rising on the stick. The 5w/30 oil has been thinned to the consistency of 20w oil. Dealer shrugged it off and claimed that driving a 100 mile trip would return all to normal.

I had this issue since i got the car, only the issue has occured progressed more as months went by. Now at 21,000 miles, engine makes a rattle sound for 2-3 seconds during cold startup and then goes away. Only happens when engine is in a complete cold-state (early morning) or not driven for a few hours.
Stop / start does not engage at stop light. Dealer finally replace battery and battery cable. This did fix problem. I understand this could be a starter problem and or software problem. The battery does notcharge above the 70% required to engage stop /start.
Engine began to skip on acceleration especially going up hill. Vehicle was takes to dealer and accessed. Dealer diagnosed owner had vehicle in incorrect drive mode for acceleration. Owner expressed to dealer, suspension of spark plug or coil problem given owner experience in buying owning hyundai vehicles. 1 month later, vehicle was disabled and delivered to dealer by rollback. Dealer diagnosed vehicle. Spark plug split in half, shattered porcelain plug. Fragments of plug fell between pistons, warped pistons. New engine recommended by dealer. New engine ordered. One mont wait time.
Painful low frequency cabin pressure when idling and driving at low speeds under 30mph. Happens consistently and only subsides when stopped or accelerating

The headlights on dim will give the oncoming car the " brights effect" on rough up and down roads.resulting in the oncoming car giving me the "brights flash" or just leaving their vehicle 'brights' on permanently. This is very blinding and dangerous. Seems there is a fine line of being dim or bright on these types of headlights. I have had them inspected by the dealer and told they are ok. There are many other complaints on the internet.this is night time driving.

Gas tank leak upon delivery. After inspecting the leak, technicians were able to identify the manufacturer had issued repairs on gas tanks that were too thin and as a result, the vehicle we purchased was not properly repaired and leaked fuel.

The car has shifted a little rough about a week after buying the car and has gotten to the point it lunges you forward. It shifts so rough i had to go to the er for pinching a nerve in my neck.

I had rented a hyundai sante fe in september 2019.i had the vehicle for a few weeks with no issues until i drove over the mountains.i had pulled into a parking lot and was looking to park, coasting through the parking lot, i then backed up and found a parking spot.i was turning right in at a very slow speed, a virtual crawl into a parking space when i pressed the brakes to stop the vehicle when it suddenly revs its engine and began accelerating out of control jumping over the front parking curb and slamming into a chain link fence.the brake was depressed to the floor and would not stop, i pumped the brakes to stop and when it would not stop, i quick slammed the vehicle into the park position to prevent the vehicle from hitting a tracker and causing further damage or injury.i contacted my insurance agent and then i contacted enterprise rental company in bend oregon.i was on hold for roughly 30 min.i explained the situation and they stated that there were no recalls they knew of and they advised me to contact their tow company and have it towed to the airport in redmond oregon to switch out the vehicles.i researched on my own and found that their was a similar incident in las vegas, nv reported in january 31st, 2018.this incident needs to be looked into before someone is seriously injured.the isg may be a contributing factor in this case.
My vehicle applies the brakes while driving on busy roads when nothing is in my path. I've almost been rear ended a few times because of it and hyundai has no resolution. Then also my vehicle has lane assist and the computer fought me steering the wheel while driving down the highway. Hyundai replaced steering components in the vehicle but don't know why it happened so they never diagnosed the problem. We have tried to go to hyundai about the issue but basically they only care about our money we pay and not our safety.
The contact owns a 2019 hyundai santa fe. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle braked hard and veered to the left for a duration of a second and a half. The failure occurred six times over a four month period. The vehicle was taken to stockton hyundai (2979 auto center cir, stockton, ca 95212, (209) 662-6400), but they were unable to replicate the issue. The dealer turned the issue over to a case manager with the manufacturer who stated that they would call back within three to five days. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 7,000.
On at least 2 other occasions and when driving the vehicle, a warning shows up in the speedometer area along with a warning light coming on.the warning states: "check blind-spot warning (bcw) system".the warning only turns off after the vehicle has been turned off and not again started for several hours.
Was driving about 30-35 mph on curvy back road when suddenly the steering wheel completely locked up. I slammed on the brakes and the car went into the oncoming lane.luckily there was no traffic or it would have been a head on collision.afterwards the steering wheel exhibited a popping/thud noise when turning the wheel.the dealership replaced the steering column assembly.didn't fix the issue.that took almost a month.then they replaced the rack and the intermediate shaft. That still didn't fix the sound.now they are replacing a clock spring.they have no idea what's wrong and are just throwing parts at the car hoping it's fixed.it's been 44 days and going on 3 repairs.hyundai says i don't meet the requirements for a buyback or exchange and have frankly been extremely rude.i will never trust this car with how this has been handled and will never be giving my business to them again.
The contact owns a 2019 hyundai santa fe. The contact stated that while attempting to drive the vehicle, the steering wheel seized without warning. The vehicle was turned off and restarted and operated as designed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostics testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000. The vin was not available.
As i was driving on curves, the wheel going out of control pulling to left toward emergency lane and getting extremely hard to control by hands. The car was driving good under 50 miles, however when i speed up to 65 or 70, i was not able to control the steering wheel. Driver attention warning sets to high" which will cause the steering wheel to acts haptic to shake steering as designed".i contacted the hyundaicustomer service with case # 16268782 addressing the issue and requested the compensation for $4,500 each for myself and my other family members of two in the car for emotional stress, fear, anger and anxiety during the trip . They send me a response that hyundai is only able to offer reimbursement for hyundai owners which is enterprise rent a car. Today, i received a phone call from enterprise rental car, indicating that i should not call, emails regarding this issue to enterprise rental car area manager, as they done their part to take the car to dealership and my future email will be consider as harassments to them. We have been suffering from emotion stress, fear, and anxiety during the trip, and hyundai would send a compensation to enterprise rental car and enterprise rental car asking to not to further contact them regarding this issue.please follow up the issue with hyundai dealership, enterprise rental car and make sure the compensation make to people who suffer from incident not the enterprise rental car, and if they send a compensation to owner (rental car), they will forward it to me.

While driving, the panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded, leaving shattered glass within the interior of the car. There was no evidence of foreign objects which may have struck the car causing the roof to crack as it did.
My wife was dropping off a friend at his house using the brakes to come to a stop. The vehicle suddenly accelerated into the garage damaging the right front of the vehicle and the garage. I can only include the vehicle photo due to photo size limitations. Her friend was a witness to the accident i estimate total damage to garage and vehicle to be $10000. Hyundai said to call back tomorrow.

I bought the vehicle august 1 and drove it home, 50 miles, at 75+ mph.immediately i noticed a high vibration in the ride as well as looking in the rearview mirror the cars behind me were blurry from the vibration until i place a finger on the mirror.i returned to the dealer the next day relating to the vibration.they balanced the front tires.i returned home and the vibration was still there.the vehicle has been at the dealer 4 more times with no solution.i have been supplied with a rental for a few days and was told the suv was ready.i picked it up on a saturday and asked for someone to go for a ride to see if the vibration was still there.no one was available so i drove it home and the vibration was still there. I returned it to the dealer and an hyundia engineer took it for a test drive up to 70mph which was in the city and not highway driving.i had a conference call withthe gm and was told that the engineer said all of the suvs vibrated and this one was more "pronounced" which was not in his report to hyundia who i've been in contact.i believe this vibration is not in the wheels, one tire was replaced, but mechanically elsewhere.it has been at the dealership since 9/25/2018.i believe this suv to be unsafe and that other components will fail.this is my 3rd suv and i've not had any problems with the first 2.another engineer is scheduled to inspect it 10/23/2018.i am a helicopter pilot and know what vibrations can do to mechanical and electrical components.
I attempted to start the vehicle, but the key would not turn because the steering wheel was not directly straight,it was slightly to the left.if iam parking up or down hill i must turn the steeringwheel towards the curb. If i continue to do this, the steering wheel will lock up, and the key will not turn in the ignition.
I purchased a brand new 2019 hyundai santa fe on february 20, 2019.on sunday, february 24 while driving on a back country road going no more than 35 mph, there was a loud noise on the roof of the car.i opened the electric cloth cover and the sunroof was shattered and glass started falling in the car.contacted the dealer the next day and was told to contact my insurance. The dealer or hyundai should cover the cost as i only had the car for 4 days.
My sunroof exploded while driving down the interstate. No cars were anywhere around us, we were not near any overpasses, there was no road debris & nothing hit our car. There was one loud bang like the sound of a rifle shot.
Vehicle caught on fire
My 2019 hyundai santa fe had sudden unintended acceleration while i was trying to park the car in the parking lot. It suddenly crossed over the parking cement block and jumped into the sidewalk landscape and then stopped. The airbag also deployed due to this incident. I did not step on the gas pedal.
I am not sure what category this should be in but my 2019 hyundai santa fe hesitates when i try to accelerate.this happens mostly when i am accelerating from a complete stop but also happens occasionally when i am going around a corner.this is a dangerous problem that has nearly caused an accident when turning on to a busy street or merging onto the expressway.after some online research, i see this is a widespread issue.
Car was in motion approaching an intersection at approximately 50 mph when some unidentified, unseen object crashed into the sliding panoramic roof. The result was a 12 x 8 inch hole and a spiderweb of cracks throughout the rest of the glass. Fortunately, the inside cover was closed and the driver was not injured.the object was not recovered.it will take 3-5 business days for the repair company to order and receive the replacement.the car is unusable till then.
I was involved in an accident on 11/11/2019 when my 2019 hyundai santa fe had a significant failure of the collision avoidance system.the traffic ahead of me braked suddenly after travelling at approximately 40mph.the collision avoidance warning did not sound and when i applied the brakes, abs did not activate and the brakes did not work properly.i made contact with the rear of the vehicle ahead of me.none of the three stages of the collision avoidance system activated.the malfunction caused the brakes to not function properly.the collision occurred at approximately 10mph.there was over $12,000 damage to the front of the santa fe but the airbags did not deploy.i have driven over 1,000,000 collision-free miles in various vehicles, with and without collision avoidance.this accident would not have happened but for the malfunction of the cas.i reported this to hyundai usa.i took more than one week for a reply.hyundai's position was that they would investigate but it would mean they would have to take possession of the vehicle for 10 weeks or more, without a temporary replacement vehicle.there has been no resolution with hyundai.
Idle stop and go technology feature cannot be disabled.the system turns itselfon after i have turned off without warning. After driving a few miles with the feature turned off and stopped at a light, the engine will shut down, thereby turning the technology back on.i have almost been in several accidents thinking my engine was running when it was not.there should be a way to disable this, not just temporarily turn off.i have brought this to the dealer's attention but they are mystified as i am.this has been going on since purchase last summer, though below i am asked for a specific date it happened.
The active lane keep assist may work intermittently based on many conditions like weather, road, light, lane marking, etc... When the lane keep assist (active mode) is engaged a green light appears on the dashboard... And when it disengages the green light just turns off... And no sound/beep warning happens... And i believe that it is a design flaw that there would be no beep/sound/alert when the lane keep assist dis engages and you still say that the driver is accountable/responsible. I would consider this flaw as a safety issue.please note that no incident or accident happened but raising this complaint so this can be reviewed.
A car veered off in my lane and the lane keeping assist feature veered me off in another lane and crashed into another car. I had to file a claim with my insurance company and had to get the vehicle fixed.
Car locks with a symbol on dashboard of car with a key then another issue when driving car shuts off.have had the car in several times told they cannot mimic the issue and computer doesn't show any codes.call hyundai corporate to complain and said with 35,000 at the time we are beyond lemon law for nj.i have now 41,000 miles on it and problem is happening more and more frequently.i have a husband on oxygen waiting for a double lung transplant and this is an unsafe car.today happened on a busy highway.i called circle hyundai in shrewbury nj spoke to service manager and told him this needs to be checked before i get killed.owner of dealership told me a month ago that i have exhausted all of his techs.please help us.

The contact owns a 2019 hyundai santa fe. The contact stated that after pulling into a parking space, when the vehicle's engine suddenly revved up, accelerated independently causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a water pipe. The air bags did not deploy.a police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed. The contact did not receive any injuries. The vehicle was towedfolsom lake hyundai (12530 auto mall cir, folsom, ca 95630;(916) 293-4760)who were not able to duplicate the failure therefore were unable to diagnose the vehicle. The contact stated the failure had occurred twice within the last 18 months. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
Vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration as we slowed and turned into a parking space at a local restaurant parking lot.engine reved, car accelerated rapidly, brakes did no hold and the vehicle plowed into and then on top of a safety barrier stopping just short of a chain link fence guarding a set of large propane tanks.police were called to scene, he took pictures.car was towed to dealership collision center.
While pulling into a parking space at an extremely low speed, foot tapping the brake, the car excelerated (uncommanded) at what appeared to be full throttle. Depressing the brake had little to no effect and the vehicle stopped after hitting a metal pole. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was determined to be a total loss. The airbags did not deploy.

While driving my new 2019 santa fe i noticed the first time it rained i had severe reduced visibility in the left portion of the windshield where the wipers don't reach.the rain pools there and does not get any better than pictured. This is a safety issue as you can not see out of 15% of the windshield and could cause an accident.
